How does one rate this place? As a pool hall (its current category)? As a bar? As a restaurant? My review will be as the latter, for I came here to eat my din-din ... Since I am staying at the Comfort Inn right next door, this place seemed like a natural place to grab a bite. First, the cigarette smoke is very thick inside -- it is a pool hall and a divey place, after all. I don't mind the smoke, but I did immediately notice it since the majority of bars these days are smoke-free. Anyway, I don't hold this observation as a negative. Second, this pool hall definitely has a pool hall crowd -- and all that that entails. If you don't like being around a pool hall crowd, you best stay away. Third, this pool hall serves food. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak. I give my Philly cheesesteak three out of five stars. The bread was a bit stale, but the cheesesteak flavor was good -- in fact, very good for a pool hall. But I cannot give it more than three stars on taste. I am probably being a little generous on my credit given to the food. In most of the pool halls I've been to in my existence, I've been lucky to eat pretzels or peanuts. So I am tickled that this place has somewhat of a full menu. Nah -- credit earned -- my cheesesteak was not bad. I was satisfied. In conclusion -- if you're staying in a nearby hotel and you don't mind cigarette smoke, then you can get a decent meal here.

Pool was cool service needs work. Games availabilities is above average but you must like poorly ventilated place fill with cigarette smoke to really get the full satisfaction. OH I need to mention it really good for the eyes if you like pretty women

I had seen some negative reviews, but this place was near work, so I figured I'd at least give them a shot. I actually was very happy with my food. I ordered the Moo-Oink, a half pound burger topped with pulled pork, a thick sweet BBQ sauce, and swiss cheese on a pretzel bun. If I had to come up with a negative, I would agree with some other reviews that the kitchen did seem a little slow, especially given that we were the only customers in there at the time (we arrived right when they opened). But I can tell the cook was taking the time to turn out a quality product and do it right. So often I see other places where every ingredient comes out of the freezer and the cook is just phoning it in. Not only would I go back, I'm actually looking forward to my next visit. This place is going into my regular lunchtime rotation for sure.

I'm torn on Redbirds Sports Cafe. I went here on a whim a while back during my lunch break. I'm slowly trying to hit every food establishment within a 10 mile radius of my job. I smell a Yelp list coming soon... Anyway, I pulled up their online menu (which is HUGE, by the way) and placed my order: a BLT on a pretzel roll with waffle fries. Duh...WINNING! My order was ready in the 10 minutes or so it took me to get there. I walked into the fairly large building. It was really dimly lit. Almost dark. There were a handful of people there, and they were all sitting at the bar, smoking. I think we have an epic smoking ban FAIL here, folks. Of course I have to pick up my food at the bar, which means that I'm subjected to a cloud of smoke for the 5 minutes it takes the bartender to wrap my food, run my credit card, and print out my receipt. Awesome. So I went back to work smelling like a dirty ashtray. I'm sure my coworkers loved that. I know I did. /sarcasm Oh, the food! The food was decent. It's really hard to screw up a BLT, especially when it's on a pretzel roll. And I don't think I've ever met a waffle fry I didn't like. So yeah, the food was good. I just don't see myself coming back to this place. Totally not my scene. And it's disgustingly smoky.

Oh Redbird's how I love your dimly lit pool room and $5 lunch menu. Yes you allow smoking by some sleight of hand but who am I too judge the skill of your legal team. Huge beers, cheap eats, open at 6 am for the hard working third shift truly a treasure (provided you don't mind scraping a crab off the treasure chest ;p)

Manager was a huge a**hole to me when I asked him why my soda refills were taking 20 minutes. He told me he was too busy to talk to me and that I was welcome to leave, so my party of 4 took him up on the offer. Also, we ordered nachos and they brought is cold meat, straight out of the fridge. Lots of potential to be an awesome bar, but the staff ruined it.

We have been looking for a bar to eat and play darts at. We like to find a bar and go all the time. This place was awful. Took forever to get drinks mind you they were sodas. We ordered food which came out cold, we sent it back and it took forever to get our new ones (which was nacho's.. really?) We never got refills. Apparently the cook quit this evening and the manager was a complete jerk when we asked to speak with him about our evening. We will never go back.

This place is alright. Service is good. Pool is expensive. Some of the bartenders suck. No drink deals just shot specials which aren't that special. Won't be back in a long time. If ever.

I have to give this place kudos. It has come a long way since the Redbirds of yesterday. The tables all have green felt and are in a lot better condition. The bar is a nice wrap-around style. The menu is packed with variety, and everything tasted pretty good and fresh...unlike my last visit years ago. I love, love, love the giant screen TouchTunes jukebox with the PhotoBooth. You can take 4 photo booth pics and post them directly to Facebook right there from the jukebox for only $1! My favorite munchy here was the corn dog nuggets with a side of cheese! They also had decent drink prices and specials, too!

I'm sitting here smashing gnats, fruit flies, what ever that are, and piling them up at the seat next to me, and a MANAGER IS WATCHING me do this 3 seats away!!.. Foods good, but someone in the name of FDA please put a stop to this!! Can't believe a manager is sitting there watching me do this! Ugh!!!!
