2nd visit and no disappointments. I am in Rochester on business and think that I shall come every night this week and eat through the menu.

This place has sentimental value for me. He took me here on our first date, and we've come here every year to re-celebrate (even the year they went through their identity crisis and switched to Pazzo for a minute). The food has always been delicious! The bread you get before the meal is awesome! I've tried quite a few of their dishes, and have really liked everything I've tried. I do wish they'd add a few changing seasonal dishes, as the menu is small and never seems to change. We'd probably come more often if they did. My favorite entree so far has been the ahi tuna. I love the relish that comes with it! The appetizers we've tried have also been good. The Risotto Fritters are really good, but the crab dip has probably won me over as far as favorites go! So much crab, and so tasty! And pairs really well with the bread that comes with it! Another plus is they have live music. It's always been decent to really good, and adds to the date-night atmosphere. See you next year Redwood Room! Thanks for the many years of wonderful memories!

I really don't understand all of the lower reviews for this place. In the decade I've been coming to the Redwood Room, I've never once had a bad meal or a bad service experience. I've been to restaurants in most of the major cities in the United States and get to eat delicious cuisine once or twice a week in Minneapolis, where there's a 4 or 5 star restaurant on every corner, and Redwood Room compares favorably to the best I've been to, both in atmosphere and food quality. I've lost count of how many times I've had the apple cider pork. It's one of my top 5 dishes I've had anywhere, in any restaurant. The combination of the always tender pork, the perfect garlic mashed potatoes, the chunks of bacon, and the just-right sweetness of the apple cider reduction is out of this world. The texture is perfect. The flavor profile is perfect. The dish is perfect. It's not presented in a fancy manner, but who cares when the food is this good? Because I normally get the above mentioned dish when I visit, I've only tasted bites of the other food from whoever I've gone with. With that said, I've been impressed with every dish I've tried, which has to be close to the entire menu at this point. All of the pasta dishes are fantastic and unique (the sauce on the basillini is divine), the meat dishes, including duck, flank steak, various chicken plates, and every kind of fish under the sea, have always been cooked to perfection and seasoned well (the arugula salsa on the flank steak is a welcomed kick in the winter time), and the Neapolitan pizzas are some of the best I've had of the style (pesto chicken, for the win). I don't know what kind of crack they put in their warm bread/olive oil/Parmesan cheese, but that stuff is addicting. I would seriously pay for this bread. I dare you to find many restaurants where you would say that. The apps are great, too. Risotto fritters, gumbo fritters, and crab dip are all superbly executed and just the right amount of food for a pre-meal warmup. On top of that, they also have a great bar menu with some good beers on tap and in bottles, as well as a super wine menu. The in-house music has generally been fitting and not too loud...a nice addition to any romantic dinner outing, which is also enhanced by the perfect lighting. And for the reviews saying they need to change their menu more often, they DO have rotating specials. Why change the majority of the menu that works and is executed well, especially when everybody was clamoring for this specific menu to come back when this was Pazzo for a bit?Seriously, this restaurant has it all. The Redwood Room is a Rochester staple and can compete with any restaurant I've had throughout the country. Restaurants like this, Pescara, and ZZest are badly needed in the Rochester community, and I hope Redwood Room is around for the decades to come.

On a Wednesday night we decided to do dinner here. I'm still new to Rochester. I was pleasantly surprised. It has a very rustic and cosy ambiance. There was a live singer who was amazing. Their complimentary bread is delicious with vinaigrette, olive oil and fresh Parmesan. I loved the pizza, our pizza was half Indian and half spicy Thai; my favorite was the spicy Thai, but both were good. I had a bite of the pasta which was delicious (I think they make it in house), and another chicken dish which was good but could have used more seasoning. Our server was great and attentive. I liked my experience and I'll be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
