It's on the way to my parents' cabin, so it's a frequent stop. The new owners did a great job with the tear down/build a few years ago. It's the Taj Mahal compared to the old place. Now it's got quite the softball field setup in the back. Not sure why they don't put up boards and flood the diamonds in the winter though.... The service is fast and friendly. Even when the bar is hopping you'll be getting your drinks in no time. The food is glorified bar food, so it's about what you'd expect. They've got a decent beer selection for the area. It's not your typical townie bar selection of Bud and Miller. They've actually got Fat Tire and Guinness. Yes, Twin Citians, this is big news up nort by da big lake. Especially this far up the Rice Lake Road. Warning: the blue cheese burger will make you stink for at least 24 hours. It's covered in raw garlic. Tasty, but damn. I had to kick my husband out of bed that night. I had the best vanilla shake of my life there the other night. No joke. My favorite part of this place is the clientele. The bar gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights. You've got older townies, middle-age cabin owners, snowmobilers, softballers, and college kids all packed in there. The Bottle Shop has decent prices on beer and wine. Woot!

Things have gone downhill here. Getting run-down looking. Usually empty, so I guess others are experiencing the same. Quality of food has gone down. Last burger I bought was a perfect circle, right from the factory. Service is pleasant but a little slow. There are better options. This used to be a place I looked forward to going to, but now will avoid. Could use a bar rescue.

Went for a friends party. Beer came out cloudy and in two glasses because, no joke, they were out of tall classes. Burger was burnt fries were overdone. Amazingly unremarkable.

Went for a beer with friends, the wings were hot and the onion rings were greasy but both were good and went well with the beer.

Went there for the first time the other night and was unimpressed. Somehow our order got caught in the mosh and we waited for nearly an hour to get our food, the bartender did apologize so we let it go. However, once we got the food we were shocked at how little of it there was, I ordered the Tuscan chicken sandwich and the chicken pieces were so small they amounted to two bites. I paid $1.99 extra for onion rings and I only got 3 rings, yep 3. My husband ordered a BBQ bacon cheeseburger and he only got a plain cheeseburger that was smaller than a McDonalds cheeseburger. Needless to say we didn't complain because we were starving and didn't want to wait any longer. The most appalling thing was the disgusting state of the bar, we sat at the bar to eat and we could easily see the bartender side of the bar and were shocked at how filthy it was. Crud and nastiness stuck to the floor that hadn't been cleaned in an obviously long time. There was built up splattered goo all down the coolers and refrigerator and the rail where the bottles are. I worked in a bar and know that that stuff should be kept clean. They were not busy and the bartenders were standing around, so in my bar experience, if you have time to lean then you have time to clean! health department needs to stop in for sure. We won't be back ever.

Used to go regularly. Not so much since menu changed and they replaced their kettle chips with cheap wavy lays. Not too impressed as of late
