Just a mile detour off highway 53. Wide variety on the menu but we opted for the burgers. The detour is definitely worth it. Perfectly cooked on a tasty bun. Outstanding.

Best burgers north of the Range. The South Switch is one of my two favorite burger joints in the world. I wish I still lived within driving distance. Many fond memories. I hope to get there this summer. Much better than anything in The Cities.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with some of the best fried fish we have ever had. As full timers living and traveling in our motor home for the last couple of years we have had fish and chips in many states. I love tarter sauce but today eating this with it would have been an insult.

The South Switch has always had great food. It's a very typical bar/restaurant of Northern Minnesota. It's right next to the CN tracks. Trains will stop sometimes and get food delivered to them. Or so I've been told. The place has a full bar, and a separate dining room. If you stop here Saturday evening before Easter, you're bound to run into the Butterlamb crew and their limo!

Haven't been to the switch for a couple of months now and I'm getting really hungry for one (or 3!) of their burgers. I travel for a living and eat at restaurants three or four nights a week. All manner of restaurants all over the country. None make a burger as good as The South Switch. None! The combination and preparation of meat and bun is perfect. No need for catsup or mustard; in fact, condiments would just mask the incredible flavor and texture. I wish every night were burger night!
