Amazing!! The place is set up odd... And at first I wanted to shank my boyfriend for bringing me here on date night. It's kind of like a school cafeteria. Bright, a buffet line (which doesn't appear to get used) and then a dance floor and stage area in the back. But... The service was phenomenal, the place is really clean and the food. It was so so good. Best pho I've ever had!! Extremely authentic and the best flavors. Everything was fresh, piping hot and spot on. I will def go back, just not a date night ;)

WHOA WHOA WHOA I havent been here for a while, but I decided to come back. They upgraded their entire menu! I mean a major overhaul. The prices now are quite reasonable, and the pho is right on point. Well...it could be better, but it's still pretty good. And they have a lot of items on their menu that other pho places don't have. I've been here 2 days in a row, and I'm still not dissapointed. I like the round white plates too. Plus the indian-looking (sorry) waitress is really nice!

We were the only ones there and didn't order much, but it was absolutely delicious, inexpensive, and the service was great. The fried calamari rivaled my favorite dish from a much more expensive place. The pho was huge and amazing. No complaints!

Tommy made my day for sure. As I know that I wanted a beef based pho, he helped me sort through the details & get something with a beef base broth, meat & loads of veggies. I think I got the Pho Viet Rare Beef & Meatballs+ a tray of raw/fresh greens,lime,sprouts,basil & fresh jalapenos . It came out faster than I could unfold todays paper, please look at the photos, this bowl was easily well over 2 quarts, as it covered the Detroit Free Press folded in half. So after spending close to 45 minutes eating as much as I could & adding several sauces. Hoisin Scrichra and ladles of those light red & dark red sauces with a scattering of pepper flakes. I was so done, Tommy fetched me a carryout bowl, and I still had 1 quart of leftovers The manger stopped by twice as they could tell I was new.. Tommy stopped by often..and the chef brought me out a fork...[ mind reader? ] The place is HUGE inside, plus nice solid tables & very clean.

This was my first time trying pho and it was delish! Hot fresh and full of flavor! I had the house special which contains alot of differnt meats. I was a bit hesitant on eating tripe but it turned out not to be that bad! I will def be going back again and recommending!

Definitely by far the worse Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to! Soooo disappointed after starving all morning. Food - I ordered the Com Tham Bi Suon Cha with a fried egg and let me just say - presentation was alright but HOLY COW, the meat was dry, not marinated well enough, tough, and it came out cold to warm. With that being said, it was a total FAIL - since the dish is relying on the meat to make the dish. The sauce that comes with all the rice dishes was extremely bland...and barely had any taste. I tasted my sister's Bun Bo Hue and wanted to gag a little. The broth was super bland and watered down - and definitely not the broth taste that is FOR Bun Bo Hue. Price - The prices for the dishes are reasonable but for the quality they presented, I didn't want to pay a penny. Service - The customer service was decent. Nothing to go crazy over. ON A GOOD NOTE - OUR WAITER WAS SUPER CUTE ;) Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. One word - HORRIBLE. I don't know if these other reviews have tasted the legit version of these Vietnamese dishes but what they reviewed is not what I experienced at all.

This is, by far, the best Vietnamese restaurant in South East Michigan. I've tried out a lot of the competition in the area and they don't come close. Very friendly service. I highly recommend the Bún tht nng (V03). It's a big bowl of noodle and fresh veggies topped with pork grilled to perfection and topped with the best sauce. It's a little salty and a little sweet and garlicky. My family and I can't get enough. We drive over 40 mins just to come here for dinner. The space is very large and nice. Plenty of room for large parties. They also have a nice dance floor and full stage!

I ordered shrimp rolls that came with peanut sauce. Very fresh. I love that they use fresh vegetables. I also ordered the hue special soup which was very spicy and chock full of different ingredients. Very filling and very delicious!

We mainly went here because we had a restaurant.com coupon. We were the only non-Vietnamese people in the place which is usually a good sign. The food was very good-probably about the same as the many other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Service the same. It may deserve only three starts but the portions were large and everything is extremely cheap (even without the coupon we had) so we'll go back if we're in the area.

Pho Vietnam is our all time favorite restaurant, and definitely our favorite Vietnamese/pho restaurant. We regularly drive 20 miles to eat here and cannot say enough great things about it. The space is clean and comfortable. The service is impeccable (special thanks to Taz for recently serving us and our pho-newbie relatives) and timely. The food is fresh and well prepared. For reference, we typically order the spring rolls (both shrimp and pork), the all-beef meet pho for my husband, and the vegetarian pho. We have also tried various com, bun, and some of the more traditional dishes. The herbs brought to the table are crisp and fresh, the proteins are tender and flavorful, and the noodles are cooked to just the right texture. The location is interesting--part of an old Ace Hardware plaza--but the experience makes up for it. I am hopeful they open a second location in the future (preferrably closer!). Do yourself a favor and head to Pho Viet for your next Vietnamese meal...you can thank me later ;o)

We visited for the first time on a Saturday for late lunch and will certainly come back again soon. We ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and avocado smoothie - excellent - along with Pho and pepper steak - also fresh, flavorful and delicious. I imagine that anything ordered from the extensive menu will be just as tasty. We have dined at several nearby competing Vietnamese restaurants and choose to return to Pho Viet. A large party was seated just before us - one of the waitresses was taking their order when we entered the restaurant - so our food was not served "fast." Our waitress apologized several times but it was understandable and the meal was well worth the wait. Everything is prepared to order. This is a family run business - all were interested that we were enjoying our food. Fresh, clean and tasty - what more could you want!

This area of Warren and Madison Heights is scattered with Vietnamese restaurants and you really have to stand out with amazing food or something unique. I tried their fresh spring roll and their Pho with crispy beef. While it was good, it didn't stand out as something unique or you can only get it at Pho Viet. The fresh spring roll had all the necessary elements, rice wrap, noodles, cucumbers, shrimp, and some mint, but it really needed more mint leaves. It did lack that "pow" of mint flavor needed throughout the whole roll. I ordered the Pho with the crispy beef. I've never had crispy beef, whatever that is right. I asked if it was deep fried, but the server said no, it's some gelatinous parts of the meat, so not crunchy at all. It's very soft and gelatinous and if texture throws you off, avoid this, but if not, try it out. It really doesn't have any flavor, but at least you know that all parts of the animal are being used. The place is pretty large for a "mom and pops" Vietnamese place. I went during a late lunch and was expecting it to be a little busier, but it was only me and one other table. They also have a dance floor with a stage for a band, so they must have some live entertainment at times.

A Vietnam veteran and I decided to give this a try after trying three other Vietnamese restaurants in Madison, Hgts. This was by far the best of the four restaurants. The service was great, the food came fast and was hot and delicious. They have the best Pho around so far. Our waitress, Marie in english (Doa in Vietnamese) was very friendly and extremely helpful in picking out items from the menu and explaining what everything was, in addition she also explained the different sauces that were on the table, and their uses. The interior is very clean and spacious and could probably seat close to one hundred people. They do serve beer and possibly wine. They have Karaoke if thats your gig, and a large stage for special personal events and celebrations. We will be coming back very soon and bringing our veteran peeps with us. This place is a keeper.

The problem with reviewing a restaurant like Pho Viet is that there is a lot of competition in the area. A lot of really good competition. If this were one of the only, or the first, Vietnamese restaurants in the area, it would be great. If you weren't Vietnamese or familiar with Vietnamese food, you'd go here and say "oh my gosh, wow, I've never had anything like it! So fresh! So delicious!" But around here, most of us reading this review have been to many different Vietnamese restaurants. We've been to Que Hong, Little Saigon, Thuy Trang, Pho Hang, Thang Long, and so on. We've developed a list of our favorite dishes and our favorite places for different things. We're snobs. We're experienced. I have a soft spot for new restaurants in my hometown. I want so badly for Warren to have great restaurants. It's pure selfishness, I admit it. I am biased when I see new restaurants here and I am terribly excited going in to them for the first time. Maybe that was my problem with Pho Viet. I went in with high expectations. The decor is nice enough, in that "Vietnamese karaoke club" kind of way. It's not fine dining, certainly, but it's good enough for what it is: cheap Pho and other Vietnamese standards. The service was slightly disoriented; maybe because they're brand new (growing pains: "We have no pop right now"), or maybe because our waitress was definitely not Vietnamese and only knew the food by number. No biggie; these things are forgivable. What's not forgivable is the extremely low quality of the meat we got in our dishes. My girlfriend got Bun and I got Pho. Both of our dishes had gristly, fatty chunks of tasteless, cheap meat. It was so bad that by the end of the meal, we each had piles of discards on our plates. There was more discarded than went into our bellies. After you get over your initial love affair with Pho, you start to be able to look past all the "doctoring", all the add-ons you put in the bowl, all the herbs and sauces. You begin to be able to judge a Pho by its broth alone, and this is where Pho Viet falls flat. The broth just wasn't that good. Nowhere near as flavorful as some of the other restaurants in town. Of course, after loading it up with peppers, basil, hoisin, fish sauce, sriracha, and so on, it becomes what you're used to... but that's not the point. The foundation is flawed. What I ended up with was a plate full of fat and gristle, a bowl of heavily doctored Pho, no pop, and the sad taste of disappointment in my mouth. .. On re-reading that conclusion, I realize how negative that sounds. Really, I'm just kind of a snob. This place wasn't THAT bad, it just wasn't that good. I probably won't be back for a few months. Maybe they're just working out the kinks.

There is a big difference between my experience at this restaurant and what the previous two reviewers had to say. I assume this is because Pho Viet is going through major changes. First of all, I have no complaints about the service, because when I went there the manager himself took care of me. He was the only person waiting tables. I assumed this was because I came in at a slow time (2 pm Friday), butTru Li told me that Michael, the restaurant's owner, let all the old staff go. So far the new staff consists only of Tru Li, the manager, and his mother and father, who are doing the cooking. Tru Li's parents are good cooks. For my appetizer I had the summer rolls, and chicken stir fry for my main course. Both were perfectly prepared. It was one of the best meals I've ever had in a Viet restaurant. It was not the best - there was room for improvement - but improvement is exactly what Tru Li is planning for. He said he is designing a whole new menu - one that features more traditional Viet dishes - and redecorating the restaurant. He said his ambition is to make Pho Viet the best Vietnamese restaurant in the area. I look forward to returning to Pho Viet and seeing what he does with it. For those who ate here before and were disappointed, or who read the other two reviews and decided against going to Pho Viet, I suggest giving it another try.

I've never had Vietnamese food in my life, and was told to go get some Pho when I was sick this week. Not knowing what Pho should taste like, I had it... And I liked it. Maybe I'm ignorant to the proper flavor, but what I had was good, and I didn't have to add any sauces to flavor it up... I'd get the chicken Pho again for sure, minus the chicken bone I almost choked on.

There's nothing better than a bowl of hot pho on a cold day with your best friend. I came here to have a one-on-one dinner date with one of my best friends in the whole world, someone I've known for 20-plus years. Over that time, he's never steered me wrong -- except when he brought me a "present" from San Diego, and when I opened the box there was a goddamn dead bird inside. This restaurant was not another present/dead bird ruse. In fact, this is the new No. 1 spot when it comes to pho in metro Detroit. My bowl was hot, huge, and packed with noodles. Usually I have to order extra noodles. Not here. It also helped that my friend, who has lived in SE Asia, knew just what to order for our app. Bahn xeo. It was light, crispy and filled with shrimp, pork and veggies. I dipped it in both fish sauce and Sriracha. I also appreciate that the chefs whipped this up, since it is usually only available to order on the weekends. Our waiter, who may have also been the owner, was very friendly and attentive. He was also dressed similar to me. Black cardigan, slacks and old dress shoes -- perhaps it was a glimpse into a bizarro universe where I'm a functioning adult? My friend and I stayed for a half hour or so after our meal to chat, and Bizarro Korean Kyle never pressured us to leave. He just offered us more tea, looked into my soul, and told me that I'm going to die alone and broke. I also like that this place has a stage set up for musical acts, making it the perfect venue for throwing one of your friends a second bar mitzvah (a re-bar, if you will) featuring the musical offerings of Randy Watson and Sexual Chocolate. I will be back for sure. Hopefully for Benjie's rebar and hangout with my alternative universe self.

I had a gift card with restaurant.com and this place advertises that they accept and will redeem restaurant.com credit... I even called to confirm with them before we went in. Well, unfortunately after we ate our meal they refused to redeem my gift card. Shady if you ask me. As for the food, to be honest it was not bad, but I can definitely say that I've had substantially better Vietnamese food elsewhere in the local area.
