After the basketball game last night the boy and I were hungry. It was late. We were staying in auburn hills and were heading to Detroit. We got sidetracked and decided to just stop here since it was only getting later and we were only getting hungrier. We walkes in and were kind of grumpily told to sit anywhere, so we did. We sat for about 10 mins or so before we were aknowledged. We ordered a sprite and an H2o. My glass of water had LIPSTICK stains still on teh cup. Mind you it wasn't mine. Do they wash the glasses or what?!? I ordered a lemon chicken rice soup. I was expecting a creamy soup, but this was a lemony broth. It was good. The boy ordered chili he said it tasted like Hormel chili (definitely not homemade), but he said it was good. I ordered a turkey bacon sandwich that was simple and good. It hit the spot. Slightly greasy, but is to be expected when bacon is involved. The boy ordered a bwcon ranch grilled chicken hani. He really liked. The seasoned waffle fries were super good.

The food was very cheaply priced and tasted like it... Not bad though. A step up from McDonalds, but not that far of a step.

Horrible service. 7 waitresses walking around doing nothing while all these people are seated not being helped smh.

Coney special $3.28 First time at this location, after a morning of errands & just getting back in town, a coney special sounded perfect to go . Which it was!

It's not fair to judge a Coney Island by anything beyond being a Coney Island, and this is really on the bottom tier of Coney Islands. I don't how you can make something as simple and already low quality as a hani so far below par, but this place has proven it a reoccurring event plenty of times. Everything about this Coney is out of line. It won't even be that busy, and i get to just stare at my food getting nastier under heat lights for up to ten minutes.

Pretty good food. Kids get a little rowdy on weekend nights. But it is a reliable late night place.

I took the grandkids to this National and we had a great time. Service was fast. Grilled Hani and hot dogs were very good.

I've been going to this location for about ten years and have noticed the quality of the food going down while the prices go up. The price of a soft drink is absurd. And .25 for a side of ranch on my already expensive hanni is just an insult. The over cooked dried out fries are getting old too. I'm done with National Coney.

Good to be back for A great Detroit style Coney. We have A pretender in Tempe, AZ that isn't up to this standard.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE National Coney Island. I spend 12 months of the year dreaming about it, waiting for the time when I finally arrive in Michigan to eat it. This location is great cause it's open all night. Of course don't think this is some kind of fabulous restaurant. It's nostalgia and apparently my BF had higher expectations because I hype it up so much. He was let down. I was let down by the fact that the chili fry portions have gotten smaller over the years. The chicken Hani was good. Our waitress seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. But I guess that's how most young people feel now days. Cause I'm so old, Ha Ha! I still love it no matter what other people say.

I have been going to Nation since they were a small place in the Macomb Mall. Since those days they have branched out all over the area and with good reason. We took 5 of our kids to eat there yesterday and were surprised to see that Tuesday is $1 Coney day and .50 scoop of ice cream day because of their anniversary! So, we fed the entire family for under 45.00. When your a Veteran living on a pension this is the way you like to eat out, affordable. The food is always good and the Brand is trusted so you can't go wrong with the National Coney Island dining experience. This location is always busy but the wait staff are very friendly and on the ball. It is very clean and the food is consistent. My very good friend Bobby Morris is a manager at the 12 and Groesbeck location, which is very good as well, but I think he would be proud to work at this location, he is a hard working manager who is on top of things, and this location would make his life easier!!! All and all, we love National and look forward to 45 more years of their brand being in Metro Detroit. Simply the best Coney Island

This place isn't so half bad. I came here today for the second time and it was a slightly better experience then the first. In one sense, they have the traditional coney menu. Coney dogs, breakfast items, Gyros and the such. I tend to like this one slightly better because the decor inside isn't so bland and boring. Being that I was here in a Saturday morning, the wait wasn't to bad. I went with the Greek omelet, and it was pretty good. The hash browns were a little undercooked, but edible none the less. Overall, this place isn't the worst, but there are about a million coneys out there, so it beats my usual one that I go to. Service is quick and friendly and prices are on point.

Seriously? No refills on iced tea? Next time(if there will be a next time) I will ask for iced tea no ice and a side of ice. The one star is for the hani. I can't believe they charge 25 cents for a side of ranch. I think it is ridiculous to charge for ranch on the hani.

It's okay. I mean there really isn't anything special about it. The food is alright and priced well, but it still isn't anything to write home about really.

I dont think there is anything better than a hani and fries late at night. However, don't go there for the atmosphere. Last time I was there I felt like I was on an episode of the russian jersey shore. People were fighting, cuss words were being shouted, all in all not a pleasant dining experience, but with National Coney Island you get what you pay for. I won't be going back after 7 pm at night anymore, I'm too old for those shenanigans!

Such a great cheap fix. I'm sure a lot of people have their doubts, but I've always loved it here. The best coney and chili cheese fries ever! I'm always on a hunt for a place that can compare. Unfortunately the restaurants tend to be a little gross, but it's something you just have to let pass.

I eat here fairly regularly. The Baby Greek Salad was the best I've had here. The ham slice with the Big Breakfast was puny. This is diner food and is not bad as far as that goes. The service is fast and good.

There was a summer a few years back where a friend and I spent almost every night here simply because it's the only place you can get something decent to eat at 4:00 in the morning. That's pretty much where National stops being unique. It's a Coney Island and you're going to get basically the same quality of food at any location you go to. Since this place is open so late it unfortunately is patronized by an inordinate amount of drunks and annoying children most of the time but if you can get past high school kids throwing butter at each other across the restaurant and modern gentlemen throwing up in the laps of their dates then it's decent. Good price and since the wait staff has to put up with so much bullshit all the time they are pretty *generous* when you are kind to them.

We have ate at this restaurant at least 3 times service and quality of their food has always been great . They offer breakfast all the time and the servers really seem to care about the customers . You can even get draft beer at this location . Even tho this location is near the freeway alot of local diners support this restaurant . We will be sure to stop back again .
