After reading a few really great reviews about this place I just went there and got a sub called the boss. It was pretty good but I thought it was a little ridiculous that they won't let you have the oil and vinegar in a to go container. I told them I wanted to eat it tomorrow so I needed the dressing on the side so it wouldn't make the bun soggy. They said they can't do that. So, I got to pay $9.00 for a pretty good tasting sub but I didn't get to have the dressing. Plus the thin little slices of tomatoes were also cut into quarters so all you get is a little piece of tomato about every three or four bites. Still a pretty good sub but I've been to several places that are much better. I'm not going to name them because I don't know if that is acceptable or not.

Doesn't get any better than this place, the rumors are true, huge sandwiches any really everything is good. I'm so happy one of these has opened in my backyard. It may be the best restaurant downriver.

Everyone was saying it's expensive sub but one sub filled me and my wife up w/a drink for $9 not that bad. Sub was good. Staff was entertaining.

Jersey Giant is my favorite! I miss the one that was in Flat Rock but going to Woodhaven is pretty close. The subs are huge and I usually get the turkey and cheese but the others are good too.

I spoke with the owner today and could feel his passion for wanting to get it right and convinced my poorly made sandwich was an anomaly. When someone is sincere and cares - that will earn my business. I had JG in Howell and it was awesome - so my visit to this one was just a "bad day/one off".

Always good. Way better than subway! Clean place with good service. They load their subs with all the extras. Great for road trip or day at park!

I'm not one for sandwiches but Jersey Giant Subs has converted me. They slice their meat individually for each sub which is awesome but I'm not sure if this adds freshness as its a prepackaged log of meat anyways. However, it's nice to know my meat was fresh off the slicer! The toppings seem limited but theirs subs don't need fancy toppings or dressings. A simple lettuce, tomato, onion with some hot peppers is just enough paired with oil and vinegar. Their bread is also fresh for a chain place like this and quite large! I only wish they had half sizes as the 12" is pretty large. (Feels bigger than a 12") Overall, great sub!

Jersey Giant is the BOMB! I love the taste of their subs. The bread is amazing! Didn't think bread was a big deal until I had a sub with crappy bread somewhere else....bread is a big deal! Love the simple oil and red vinegar they put on their subs! Beacome a loyalty member and the send you coupons (and jokes) vial email. AWESOME!!!! Rick

It's great if you're in the mood for mediocre variety. The only good thing about this place is that they slice the meat in front of you along with the one type of cheese they offer onto the two types of bread they serve.

If you want a sandwich that your mother used to pack for you to go to school with then you'll probably love this place. But if you're and adult that actually likes items besides lettuce and tomato then you should go somewhere else. It was the most bland sandwich ever.

I don't live in the area but just happened to be over here one night and we had to stop in. My husband is from Jersey, he wanted to confirm if it was legit. The place has a lot of Jersey decor. Photos of people from New Jersey, road signs, maps, etc.. I was surprised not to see any pics of Snooki or JWoww, I mean when I think of Jersey, they are the first that pop in my head (Yikes! Just Kidding). I was looking for Springsteen and Bon Jovi. The subs are huge, we had to split one. Turkey, provolone and all the fixings (including tons of pickles). A sub, drink, and small bag of chips-$11.00..ouchie. New Jersey prices for sure. It was good, the bread wasn't my favorite. Not sure what I was expecting with that, just kind of bland I guess. The guy behind the counter was super nice and very welcoming. I don't think I would drive the 1 1/2 hours from my house to come here, but if I was ever in the area again I would come back.

Being from Jersey, one of my first food searches was for a place that actually made good subs, a location that makes or comes close to making subs that I grew up enjoying back in Jersey. The Jersey Giants in Woodhaven, MI definitely hits the nail on the head when it comes to making Jersey style subs!

The biggest and best subs around! I'm sure some might prefer the chain sub shops but this place is the real deal. Fresh meat and cheese sliced in front of you, fresh bread and your choice of toppings. Simply the best!

I like the fact of the gimmick that they slice the meat in front of you. The bread for the subs is soft and tastes great. I also went with the hot relish that they charge like and extra 50 cents or $1 for I thought it was a nice addition to the sandwich. I will be back again.

Very good sandwiches, just pricey. Don't plan on getting out of there for under $10. A great treat though for sure.

Went here a few days ago when I was starving and this looked to be the quickest & healthiest option in the surrounding area. I got the #6 - The BOSS! - (Ham, Capacola, Salami, Cheese, Prositini, Pepperoni) at the employee's recommendation since I was a first-timer. It's a 15" sub and you get your choice of white or wheat bread - which I love is an option because I'd pick wheat any day over white! The meat is sliced to order, and is topped with lettuce & tomato, and your choice of dressing and toppings. I opted for the oil & vinegar dressing, and only topped with pickles. They did have banana peppers (Michigan grown) and I think there was also a jalapeño topping, can't remember what else. They cut it in 4's and packed up half of it for me to take home, and tray'd the rest for me to eat there. I got a bag of chips which I believe is $.99 to add on to a sub. Not 100% on that though. I think the sub was $8.99. Didn't get a drink cause I rarely drink soda and generally stick with water. They do sell bottled Faygo soda which I thought was pretty awesome. They also sell fountain sodas and I believe there was another cooler that had some other beverages - Yoohoo was in that one if I'm not mistaken. The sub was delicious! Seemed completely reasonable price wise considering how much food you get. Plus it's freshly sliced meat! Not some prepackaged nonsense that's been sitting around for who knows how long! Okay, so my only gripe is the Bettermade potato chips. That's the only brand they sell. I get it - Michigan made - but I never eat them. They're too salty! I've hated them since a kid and probably haven't had them since then. Decided to give them another try (many years later) and they're still just as salty as I remember. Yuck! I like chips with my sub, but I can't accomplish that here. It's be nice if they brought in a different brand. Until then I guess I'll order out, get chips elsewhere, and eat at home. No big deal.

The customer service is terrible. The past few times I have been there the people working have been very rude and uptight. They will not be getting my business anymore. I ordered a sub with roast beef and it was very fatty. For the price of these subs they should provide a higher quality meat. Would not recommend this place.

My favorite is the #8. The meat and cheese are very thinly sliced which I LOVE. Cut in four its either a share with my hubby or at least two meals for myself. The people who work there are really nice.

I like this place, subs are very good. But am wondering why the last time we ordered a sub a couple weeks ago, we couldn't get the dressing on the side? It wasn't going to be eaten for a few hours, therefore we didn't want it to be soggy. That's a strange rule. I'll pay extra for the little plastic container if need be?

This is my absolute favorite sandwich joint! My family of 4 and I usually split 3 subs, so even though it's pricey, we all make it work. The meat is freshly sliced as they make the sandwich, and it makes the whole experience that much cooler. The workers are very efficient, and have you in and out in no time. We always order the Jersey Giant, and I tried The Boss last time. And The Boss was amazing! Know that I know the place has MSU roots, I enjoy it even more. ;)

Hands down....the BEST cold sub sandwich that you can buy downriver. Maybe it's the MSU roots ( we visited our son in E.Lansing & he took us there) . Everything is so fresh ( love the wheat bread) and you can ask for extra lettuce & tomatoe for free...& extra meat only $2.50 , extra cheese is $1.25. We always get them cut into 6 pieces, wrapped , and take it to concerts ,the Toledo zoo, the airplane, etc. travels great. You can take your own little Tupperware dish to put the oil &vinegar in to it for later. ( I hate soggy bread) the staff is fun, too! Try it...... You'll LIKE it, for sure

If you are from Michigan State University, you know about Jersey Giant. It's a huge sub sandwich. I mean huge. 15 inch but they look bigger. Anyway, it's good. very good. It's cold subs and non of that put it in the oven craze going on now. They have italian meats like capacola, salami, pepperoni, along with ham, turkey etc. They are cut on a slicer right in front of you. Thin deli slices which I love. The toppings are simple. Shredded lettuce, tomatoes, italian oils, onions, and yellow peppers. They also have hot Giardiniera for $.50 extra. (highly recommended cause they are tasty peppers!) Bread isn't the fresh right out of the oven but they are really good. It's soft and tasty. They cut your big sub into 4 small subs. I could finish this when I'm really hungry but I recommend that you share with someone. It's enough. Inside of this location is similar to the one I have been at MSU. The workers are friendly here and cool. All the subs are under $10 and most of them are $6 to $7. I thin you can order half size too. It's better then subway! Go here for lunch!

I made a wrong turn, I ended up in Jersey, and I am a tiny person.....there are giants all around me...give me a bun...I'll beat away the giants...throw some lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil, salt an pepper in there too. There take that now you nasty giants! Well, my visit wasn't quite like that but, that's the type of sub I had. It's called a Jersey Giant. Freshly sliced meat makes you feel like you're at a butcher. The sandwich was on a bun that they took out of a bag of buns(white or wheat only. Not fresh, but not bad. Chips are available as well as fountain drinks or bottle soda. Not a bad sandwich, not the best. They are a little bit pricier for a 12". There also isn't very many toppings. The place was clean. I will probably go here again because I have a customer who just loves these sandwichs. Anyhow, I have to get going to beat up on the giants!!!!

My all time favorite sub place downriver. It's so worth the money! I love that they slice the meat right there for you. The customer service is really good as well. I enjoy the simple turkey and ham. The condiments are simple but great! Try it out if you are in the area or live around here!

I love this place. Hubster and i used to go to the locations in Lansing- but always hit up this one on our way to Toledo or relatives in Brownstown. My husband swears by #5, I am partial to salami/cheese and their tunasubs. I love both breads, but prefer their sweet wheat. DH likes white- but both are good. People here are always very friendly. Good service, fresh bread and fresh cuts- YUM!

Easily the best submarine I have ever had. I normally get the Jersey Devil, but have also been known to get the turkey and cheese. The Pete's there are great!
