Yesterday was my second visit to SMASH in a year and it was another great visit. The stuffed mushrooms were perfect and the bacon and onion flatbread was delish. Drinks were awesome (full bar and wine). Had the butterscotch cheesecake, was a hit. Service is great, awesome location especially with the holiday music/decor. This is a hidden jem if you haven't tried it yet, you should!

Smash is awesome. There is something so grand about walking down the Frauenthal steps to the atmosphere of Smash. Full bar. Killer wine list (that you can look through and read about each kind on an iPad). Good food. I love their happy hour deals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, their wine, flatbreads, and appetizers are all half off. You really can't beat it. The cheese plate is to die for...delicious, presented beautifully, with cheese from the cheese lady. I also love their eggplant/artichoke and pancetta/Brie pizza. It's great for date night or dinner with friends! Service is always great. Really, no complaints. Smash is hands down my favorite place to sit back, relax, enjoy some wine, and eat a delicious meal in Muskegon.

I wanted to love Smash, I truly did. I love supporting local and I consider myself a bit of a foodie. The setting was beautiful and our service was great, the wine list awesome!! The food, sadly, was lacking. We tried the caramel drizzled figs with a lemon mascarpone, strawberry preserves and prosciutto, the presentation was lovely but the flavors did not meld well, our, very kind, server took them off our bill. We then moved onto the hummus, good but nothing great and the stuffed button mushrooms which were also decent but given the beauty of Smash, they still seemed to be missing something. We then moved onto the Indian wrap and the goat cheese and porcini stuffed chicken linguine. The Indian wrap again was nothing terribly special and the linguine was tasty but truly came off as nothing more than chicken Alfredo. I refuse to give up on Smash as I think there's a ton of potential but, I could not give a great review on this visit, of even one of the five separate dishes tried. My apologies if this seems harsh, I hope the next time is better.

This is an excellent new addition to the downtown Muskegon culinary and social scene. They have a large and varied drink menu, including many superb wines. The seasonal menu items are expertly prepared and delicious. The decor and atmosphere are fabulous, and the service is always beyond excellent.
