The hummus was decent, but they charged $2 extra for a little plate of garlic to go with it. The salad was mediocre, but the real disappointment was the dinner. I had the mushroom sauté with beef, and my girlfriend had the beef shawarma. The beef was over cooked, and it was full of chewy bits of fat, I didn't even finish it. The shawarma tasted like generic shawarma dressing out of a bottle, and did not seem fresh at all. Given that there is a selection of much better middle eastern restaurants nearby, I will not be going back.

I ordered the Hummus with Beef Shawarma on top. What I got was a plate filled with greasy slop. It's a huge portion, enough for two people. But I prefer quality over quantity. Rice was overcooked. The grape leaves were bland. And as of the day of this writing, there is a dead fly stuck to the menu on the front window.

I've only been to this restaurant twice. After the first time, I promised myself that I would never go back. But, I decided that I wanted a smoothie today so I gave them a second chance. The first time I went, I placed an order over the phone. I only asked for chicken shawarmas. When I get there to pick up the order, I give them my name and tell them what I ordered. The staff was extremely rude and condescending, and the manager was even worse. After that experience, I said I wouldn't go back. But, it's been almost a year so I thought maybe things would change. Nope. I had a craving for a smoothie, and to me, Mediterranean restaurants make the best smoothies. My order was taken and completed by the manager himself. I specifically asked for a banana-honey smoothie. He laughed and said, "that's it?". I wasn't sure what was so funny but I just said yes. He said okay and proceeded to make my smoothie. I got the smoothie back and it had strawberries, bananas, and God knows what else in it. CLEARLY not what I asked for!! I just walked out. I'm pissed that this place, which is so close to my house, has such despicable service. I'm disgusted. Never again. Ever.

Just to be politically correct, the customer service is great. It's different here. It has a bar feel in terms of comfort and feeling like family almost. Everyone here at this location is great. The place is always fresh and inviting. The food is pretty good. The Fatoosh salad is the quiet star here. I am the biggest fan of the Deboned Chicken which is juicy, well prepared and PACKED with flavor. There are of course other wonderful plates in the menu but this has got me hooked!

It's a decent place, I find the food too bland and pricey. They do have an amazing staff.. Always smiling and welcoming... The prices could be a bit lower but the food is authentic.. You should try it, if you prefer not to have your taste buds burnt away..

Give me more stars Every time I visit from Pa I hunt this place down. I love their soups, their bread w/ garlic yogurt and they give way to much food on the entree plate. Nice staff, great food and the price is fair

I just moved to Michigan from Maryland. The first thing I did here was buy shwarma from this place. I got sick as a dog. Diarrhea. Throwing up. Terrible stomach pains. This lasted two days. Do not eat at this place. ....... I warned you.

I'm afraid that the 2 stars speaks for itself. Craving some Mediterranean food, we had quickly done a search around the area, and we soon came across Oasis. We remembered that we had been to an Oasis Cuisine on the east side, and it was okay, so we decided to give it a go over on the west side I stuck with my standard Chicken Schwarma, while my wife ordered a Chicken Fattoush salad. The food was prepared rather quickly, and we first started with the pita bread and hummus that we had gotten as an appetizer. That was fantastic.. their recipe is really top notch. Unfortunately for us, that was about the highlight of the meal. My wife's salad had very little to no dressing on it, leaving her with chunks of chicken and lettuce with no real flavor. My chicken schwarma was rather blah as well. I enjoy flavor when getting this type of meal, and this meal was anything but flavorful. The platter was packed full of rice pilaf, and then some chicken to balance it out. There was so little flavor with the chicken that I ended up putting the entire container of garlic sauce on top of the chicken and rice, and having to mix it around to get flavor to all of the food. I'm afraid I'm going to have to keep on looking for some good Mediterranean places in Livonia.

LOVE Oasis! We had a house full of hungry people last night and ordered the LEBANESE TRAY. It was ready exactly when requested and included so much delicious food! The manager helpfully carried everything out to our car! Our eight guests feasted and loved it! Oasis is in the old "Johnny's Lunch" location in Wonderland Village and they did a great job renovating for middle-eastern flair. It's a comfortable place to eat. We eat at Oasis for lunch occasionally and carry out dinner often. It's consistently delicious and a good value. The restaurant is always clean, and the staff is friendly and courteous. We love the shawarma, kafka, and especially the GARLIC.

Okay, so I tried a new Middle Eastern restaurant in a strip mall. The waiter was attentive and extremely friendly in a warm, genuine manner. The food came quickly with very little wait time. We ordered a hummus appetizer. It came quickly with a side bowl of garlic spread and fresh, warm pita bread. The hummus was flavorful and creamy. The garlic spread was creamy with a nice strong garlic flavor. My wife ordered her meal with the fattoosh salad. Her salad was packed with flavor, color and fresh ingredients. It was large enough that she found herself nearly full just eating it alone--and was happy with it despite not being a vegetarian. I ordered my meal with the lamb chili soup. My bowl of soup did not have enough lamb meat to balance out the rest of the ingredients, but that does not necessarily reflect badly on the restaurant. I came later in the night; so, the soup could have been thinner than it would have been earlier in the day. However, the soup had a nice bit of spiciness to it. And it had nice colorful tomatoes and peppers in it. And unlike some chili soups, the beans were all intact and completely cooked. So, despite the low amount of meat in it, it was still a rather good chili. For our entrees, my wife ordered the deboned chicken with rice. She said that it was one of the best deboned chickens that she has had in a while. It was juicy. It was flavorful. It was tender enough that she could cut it with her fork. I ordered the chicken ghallaba with rice. This was a robust ghallaba. The vegetables were fresh. There were no signs of wilting. The vegetables were colorful. When you bit into them, they were cooked, but still had a slight snap of crispness to them. The sauteed chicken was tender. The whole dish was flavorful. The rice was perfectly done. Not one grain was undercooked nor overcooked. The wonderful thing about this dish was that you could order it various ways. You have the option to order it with salmon, shrimp, chicken, beef or vegetarian. You have the option of ordering the ghallaba over hummus or not. You could order the ghallaba with rice or french fries. So, they gave you some versatility with this dish which was refreshing. So, would I recommend going to this place? Let's put it this way. My wife made sure to tell the manager how good the waiter was and how good the food was. And my wife said that she planned to tell her friends about this place.

Usually really good food. Today was no exception. Waitress was rude and condescending, assuming I knew the entire menu and ingredients. She was impatient and seemed too busy to care even though we were the first and only customers there today. Later she redeemed herself but not enough to get 5 stars. I gave three stars only because the food is great. Service is usually better. Hoping the waitress is just having an off morning.

Delicious, great, excellent... and way better than Kabob Inn who gave me a shawarma sandwich with drippy chicken meat saturating the paper wrap the sandwich was in. I love Oasis!;-) They're are the best!

Really great authentic Mediterranean food. Typically I don't have any issue with service, until tonight. I was feeling like a falafel sandwich as I looked over the menu. I specifically asked the waiter what exactly came in it, as if it came with tomatoes, I was going to request they be omitted, but he said only lettuce and turnips. Okay, great. However when I received my sandwich... tomatoes. I just picked them out, but I am irritated on principle. What if I had a food allergy to something he didn't disclose? I have had that waiter several times so I know he is not new. He should probably do a better job of learning the menu.

Large portions, Shwarma is excellent, salads are fresh and delicious, and the feshly baked bread is hard to beat. Great bang for your buck. I go at least once a week.

I've only been here once, but my wife and kids have eaten here a few times, and they seem to love it. I enjoyed the food - the pita bread and veggie tray were fine, the hummus was pretty good, and the salmon ghallaba was delicious. The garlic sauce was quite garlic-heavy (the way I like it), but the fries were boring. I was not thrilled by the large, empty diner ambiance, but the waitress was friendly, the food was relatively fast to get to the table, and the prices weren't terrible.

I can't believe how busy this place was today at lunch. Nearly every table was filled. I merely came for carry out, so I can't comment on the dine-in service. But, here's a recap of my experience: I walk in and see that this is in fact, a sit-down restaurant. Except they have a lit-up menu board, and an oddly-placed "hostess" stand. Confusing - I didn't know whether to approach the stand and wait for a host to get there or go walk up to the cash register and place my order. Anyways, I decided upon my typical order, the chicken fattoush salad. It was a lunch special ($7.95). I requested dressing on the side. There are no chairs by the register, so I was just standing there waiting for my order and they asked me to go sit by the door. Just another note on the odd design of this place. Upon arriving back at the office I was happy to find a side of garlic sauce. The salad had plenty of pita chips (booo) and dried out chicken. Had the chicken not been so dry, it would have been great - you could definitely taste the cumin and middle eastern seasonings. Their dressing and garlic are both not "typical" to other middle eastern restaurants in the area - The garlic was runny - almost too yogurt-y - and the dressing very heavy on the oil. Although they remembered to put my dressing on the side, the salad itself was disappointing. I counted 1 tomato and zero onions (I LOVE ONIONS!) so that was a big fail in my book. I don't think I'll be returning, there are plenty of other well-done Mediterranean cuisine choices nearby.

I come here frequently and I'm really not sure why I do... Close to work I guess. Pro's: pretty good food and you get A LOT! I always get chicken shawarma... It is a little on the dry side but when paired with garlic paste it is delicious. Cons: waitresses. I always have the WORST service. There is only one waitress that is actually really good, however hearing her gossip and cuss to her other coworkers is not pleasing. For the rest, you hardly get noticed, and they all sit in a booth ignoring their 1-2 tables and gossip/eat food/ play on phones. Today I was one of two tables and it took her 10 minutes to take my bill back to ring me out because she was just sitting down playing on her phone. Also she did not give me a pen to sign with so thank goodness I had my own. I was pissed. They also have a high turn over of staff I have noticed.

Overpriced, this food was NOT FRESH and disgusting. The (half) Deboned Chicken, you would assume is half a chicken deboned. No. It's misleading on the menu. It is simply sliced white breast meat. And very dry at that. And (raw) Kibbee Nayee must be served fresh as it is raw! It was dried out, dark, old and stunk like old meat. The fattoush (salad) was made up of old wilted salad fixings along with fresh salad fixings. The bread had no pockets like regular pita bread and came out undercooked. We were so disappointed. Don't waste your money. It's no wonder why it is always empty and the food is old. I spoke to management...they couldn't care less.

Oasis: the triumph of quantity over quality, although there's enough of the lattter to keep me from writing it off. Excellent tabbouleh - and you get a ton. Great fresh bread. Chicken is too often dry, the cardinal sin of this place - slap some garlic sauce on there. Good coffee. Cheap. Best to come here when you're starving but don't feel like jacking up your cholesterol levels at the coney down the road. I see people complaining about the awkward layout. Personally I don't see any issue - it makes sense given the location and the clientele, who are typically coming in on their lunch break. They might not have time to sit down and eat, but it's nice to have the option.

Food is so good here and service is quick and efficient. The bread is my favorite I just walked in and placed an order and it was ready in record time. The wait staff were very friendly and offered me some water or ice tea while I waited. Great place to eat

Echoing other reviews...nothing very special about this place, unfortunately. They need to hang some artwork on the walls to give it some character, spruce it up. It looks like a single man's apartment void of decoration. The boss seems somewhat somber, maybe its his stamp of non personality on the place. Our skinny waitress was pleasant enough but made weird remarks about how much we and other customers were eating, like, "i couldnt eat that much" (our large fatoush salad that wasnt that big). To a customer who ordered three shawarma sandwiches: "you gonna eat all those?" Sort of amusing but odd. Usually you remove all barriers to people gorging themselves. And the food: the aforementioned fatoush salad, hommous, and kafta sandwich were all decent, but that's it. I will go back for one more shot...sometime

We came to this place and were very disappointed. We ordered an appetizer and main dish. The waitress periodically came to our table to say that our appetizer will be ready soon because it was starting to take a while and we were getting impatient. At one point when we were waiting for our dinner the manager came to us to apologize that my chicken shawarma will not have any mushrooms. I said that's great because I don't even like mushrooms! So he offered to add extra vegetables which I thought was even better. As we were waiting for our hummus and bread the waitress brought out an appetizer that we didn't order. She said it was made by mistake and they didn't want to throw it out. We told her we didn't want to eat it then, but if they were okay with it, we would take it home. She said yeah no problem we could take it home (sweet! Free appetizer!). About five minutes later the waitress came back and said, 'Actually if you are going to eat that we are going to have to charge you for it'... So she took it back! After about a half hour our main dish was served but the quality of the food was just not up to par. It was dry and my dish had NO vegetables in it... even though the manager offered to add some. Also, we STILL have not gotten the appetizer that we ordered. After about 10 more minutes I was starting to get upset and I asked the waitress, 'what is going on?' She apologized about the wait for the humus and bread but they were still waiting for their oven to warm up to bake the bread. Mind you this was Friday evening at 7pm and the oven wasn't on?? We eventually got the bread, which tasted really good... But that is the only thing that was good about our trip here. The staff was hardly empathetic about the service we received and didn't seem to care. They sat in the back playing on their smart phones. I do not recommend this restaurant.

I have eaten there twice for carry out and both times I thought the food was fantastic. I ordered a lunch chicken shawarma sandwich with a fattoush salad, hummus & pita bread. Way more food than I can eat in one meal, and it was great as leftovers. I think this was the best fattoush salad I have ever had. The hummus is very garlicy, which I enjoy, and the warm pita bread was delicious.
