I like this place. It's a buffet. The normal fare. Chicken, salad bar... Lots of dessert choices. The rolls and honey butter are delicious. I had a group of 10. My kids loved it, and everyone was very nice to them. I'll be going back for sure.

I used to live this place when it was Ryans but since then it's been a slow decline to the bottom. Well its reached that point. Three of us ate there and cost close to $40 for over cooked and stale food. There was no chicken for the grill, cookies were missing from the dessert area. Dishes were unclean and the food that was on the bar was old and bland. We won't be returning there.

Im a former employee that worked there for about a month. The things I seen while working there is crazy. For starters the fridge has black mold in it. Also the staff does not wash their hands. I will never be going back they also do not make fresh food they save the stuff from the night before. That's Why half of the people eat there get sick. Good luck and beware!!!

Last night my kids and I went out and for the first time in years I actually have to say I rather enjoyed my visit.the food was being refilled constantly, the staff all around was working together and making everything run smoothly.it was about 530 when we got there so at the beginning of dinner rush. I was surprise that they again are bringing the best dinner rolls to your table. And now you have your drink brought to your table. I really enjoyed the service of many of the waitress around. Thanks again for a great meal. I didn't have to clean up. You have restored my faith. Keep it up and I will be back.

Thursday is family night. Kids eat for $.99! We love a good deal in our household and my son love this place. They have a good selection of food for many tastes, including his picky little pallet. Not to mention he knows about the ice cream and that is his goal everytime. This is a good place to take the little ones and have a family dinner out.

I ate here a lot of times, and each time the food was good. I wish it had a bigger selection, but it makes up for it by letting you request fresh food like steak or stir fry and so on. Fire mountain isn't perfect, but it is good.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have only eaten there once, and as it turns out, that was one time too many. The food is WAY overpriced, and the buffets are not kept clean. After my meal, I felt VERY ill. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. Every time anyone I know has eaten there, they have felt sick later. Do yourself a favor and try one of the other area restaurants.

Not sure why everyone is hating on this place! It's a BUFFET! What were you expecting?? Keeping that in mind, the food was pretty good. Fairly chaotic environment - lots of kids running around, but that made it fun and different from restaurants I'm used to. Def entertaining - great place for people watching. A bit more than I'm used to paying for a buffet, but there's steak! And the dessert bar is the bomb. My date and I felt a bit sick when we left, but overall we had fun :-)

Not the worst buffet...not the best. Cost about $14. Went for a family supper Dec 2012. Typical food choices. Everything tasted pretty good. Dishes weren't cleared very often and very few food items had identifying signs... Also several items went empty and weren't replenished very quickly... Not a horrible place, just average.

NEVER GO TO FIRE MOUNTAIN! This place is DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY and the "waitress'" don't even get your drinks... they get you NOTHING! And still expect a tip! BAD food and the kitchen workers walk the floor swearing! It cost $11 to eat in a dumpster! There was food all over the tables and even more on the floor! I kept waiting for someone to clean it up, but... it NEVER happened! TERRIBLE food and even worse customer service!

This was the first time that I had ever eaten at Fire Mountain, and I am sure my last. I wonder if they( the company) even reads the reviews. We were a large group sitting in a room off to the side, no silverware, you had to look around for that. The pop machine was gross, someone did not clean it up, also the people that were eating and getting food were total slobs, pile on the food or drink and then just make a mess of it. I felt the workers were way over worked and underpaid. I had a steak and I would have to say that it was cooked to my liking and it was great. Everything else was just plain, boring and mundane food. I had to go to the restroom, ooooh I should have waited, the health department should be called. What a mess. After we left this restaurant, I had a lot of stomach problems, and was in the bathroom at the hotel and home several times. gross! We will definitely pick another restaurant when we are in Lansing.

I have not been to a Fire Mountain restaurant in ages. It is part of the Ryan's Restaurant group of restaurants - Old Country Buffet, Ryan's etc. All pretty much are the same stuff - All you can stuff buffets with middle of the road food that is sometimes border line mundane to sometimes tasteless. Today my family had a huge shindig and about 40 of us occupied a whole corner of the restaurant. After all of us milled about meeting and greeting we started to see whats what. When you enter after paying you are given a receipt and your cups. You get to the table and there napkins at the table but no silverware. You are expect to wander around and find the drink dispenser and get your own service. Then you go to the buffets and look around attempting to decide what food is what. That was my number one issue - there were either missing, incomplete, or mislabeled signs above each item on the buffets. You could stand there for literally 5 minutes and look at something and stir it around and still have no clue if its animal, mineral or vegetable. If you have any sort of Food sensitivity or allergy its a complete crap-shoot. Don't even try to ask a worker what something is as there are few people actually working the floor. I think the only 5 workers I saw in the entire restaurant was the Cashier, the guy cooking some steaks, a gal in the back by the dessert station and 2 old ladies running around cleaning plates off of tables. There seemed to be 1 older lady taking care of our corner. Every-time I saw her she looked tired and beleaguered, quite likely cursing under her breath at everyone. There were quite a few messy people in the restaurant. I hardly blame the Workers... I blame the customers... some people routinely goto the buffet and pile 15 items on their plate only to eat 1 thing and then slop the rest and expect a worker to swing by and clean it up. Sad but true I think that was the only task our "waitress" Denese had for our corner of the restaurant. I made sure I said Thank you every time she took a stack of plates away. As for the Food.... Its a Buffet. What else can I say? The food is not stellar by any means. However there is a lot of seemingly innocuous puddles of brown or orange goo and other steam tables with every sort of potato variety known on this planet. How many ways can the human species eat a potato? According to Fire Mountain there's at least 15 different ways. And all of them require copious amounts of pepper and salt. There's also the tubs of meat looking substances in gravy or sauce or fried in some manner... quit often I was trying to use the spatula or tongs to split a piece in two to investigate if there really was meat underneath all the breading or gravy or goop. Personally anyone expecting high quality food from a buffet needs to have their taste buds retired at the door. You don't go to a buffet because they have totally awesome steamed cabbage, you go to a buffet because you generally can pay $10 or so and are allowed to eat as much mediocre food as you can possibly stomach. I did not mind our trip, as I was mostly there for my family's event I had a lot of fun chatting it up with cousins I haven't seen in a while. The Food tasting was almost fun as One person would say - Wow This is Tastless!, then the next person would say no way really? let me try it... pretty soon you have 5 different people all agreeing that piece of allegedly roast pork loin is actually tasteless. Then you get the one old fart in the family who smiles and smacks their lips as they eat everything on their plate. That reminds me, time to take the Imodium just in case. 12hrs later after eating at the Buffet and then you'll pay the price.
