I absolutely love 5 guys, it's my second favorite chain burger place behind in-n-out! the burgers are great, the amount of options for toppings that are included at no extra charge is impressive, and the fries (which I prefer cajun seasoning option) are fresh and cooked in peanut oil. obviously the lunch and dinner rush are going to be busier. my friend says it best "guess how many guys i have in me!"

There was a lot of hype surrounding the opening of a Five Guys, and as I learned, it was largely unfounded. I showed up on a Wednesday evening, and I was surprised at first by the prices -- even the most basic burger is $3.50. Sure, it comes with as many toppings as you want, but when you have simple tastes, it seems a bit overboard. Then you get told everything is a la carte -- no combos, nothing. In short, I paid $11 for what I could've paid $5 or less for. The burger had little to no seasoning, but it was greasy deliciousness. If not for the cheese and bacon, I'd be more disappointed. The fries, which are apparently a big deal, tasted more of the peanut oil they fry them in than anything else. The only perk was the super soda machine -- so many choices, so little time. If you want to pay $4+ for a burger, your local fast food chains might be the better deal. Or even your local greasy spoon for that matter. You might even get better customer service.

The good: I actually think the burgers are so good, most of the so called "bar burgers" can't compete. I know that's sacrilegious to suggest that, but the burgers are everything a burger should be. They are perfectly juicy (greasy), good bun, good toppings and no foo-foo sauces to cover up a second rate piece of meat. The burgers rock, but that's where the story ends for me. The mediocre: The fries are so salty I might not have to pee for a week. McDonald's has far superior fries. No contest. Also, there are no chili cheese fries, which seems fitting for this type of place. My recommendation: Get the burger and call it good. The burgers are fantastic.

The burgers are amazing. Wife kids and I all agree best burger we have had yet. Now to pair this burger with some bottomless fries from Red Robbin and you have a perfect burger meal
