Enjoyed a nice Saturday evening here. Just had wine and apps. Very clean with attentive service. I was hoping for a better wine experience, since it is a wine bar, I was hoping for a tasting menu or at least some education on their offerings. We just ordered a couple glasses and waitress had to look at our menu to be able to write it properly on her ticket. The calamari was a little greasy and over salted. Crab dip was good but had a thick coat of what tasted like old bay seasoning on top. Onion dip was very good maybe a little on the sweet side. Will go back to try their entrees but I have to rate this as a wine bar at which it didn't do so well.

Been here 3 times. Excellent choices of drinks. Go for the specials..I always do. Duck, Scallops and Halibut were excellent. 3 for 3.

I love this place. Great atmosphere, great food, etc. The bruschetta is excellent, as is the mac n' cheese. Oh, and don't forget to order the sweet potato fries. YUM! You honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The cocktail options and wine selection are also great. A little pricey, but worth every penny. It's a great place to unwind after a FSO concert or during the city's monthly Second Friday Art Walk.

Terrible food, slow service. I would not recommend cork to anyone

This is one of our favorite date spots. We consistently get the bacon and onion dip and never regret it. It's a blast getting the wine card and sampling a huge range of wines. The staff are super friendly and the owner has a great memory of her customers. A bit pricy, but worth every penny. We have tried a number of main course dishes and never been let down. Has a definite romantic atmosphere, great second or third date spot. If you're not a big wine fan the rotating array of cocktails are great! They change to match the season, which can be very fun.

One of Flint's Greatest Restaurants! The food is incredible and never disappoints. The people and the atmosphere are excellent. For an appetizer I would recommend the calamari with aioli sauce to dip in. If you like sweet white wine try their moscato. There are always different specials so keep those in mind when you go.

Had to pay $11.00 for a bottle of "premium" beer. Never returning to this place. You can't just pretend to be a "classy wine bar" just to blatantly overcharge people for their drinks.

Third time, third disappointment. Salmon dish was overcooked and just plain bland. Beet salad was boring. Meal was just overall bland. Nothing really exceptional

Love love love this place! I miss it so much! Food is amazing and the drinks are great too. Good selection! Great atmosphere. It was my go to place before I moved. I can't wait to come back when I'm in town!

Now this a fun place to go and have a glass of wine and some dessert! It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. Friendly staff and good food. It seems to attract a lot of "fancy" people too.

The hostess was rude to my group. She disrupted us several times, letting us know our party of four that serendipitously morphed into a party of six was not following her laws of the dining room. She actually made special trips to our table to let us know this. Not exactly a way to make this newcomer feel welcome. We were not loud or rowdy, just a group of friends out enjoying dinner. The Italian Wedding Soup was too salty and uninteresting. It's obvious they're trying and I'm sure sometimes they hit the mark - but I think the priority is to be fancy. To me, it seemed a bit gimmicky.

The Lonely Hearts Club decided to venture here on Valentine's Day (to further torture ourselves, but with a good meal and wine). The Southwest Black Bean Burger was THE best I have ever had. Topped with avocado, tomato, onion, lettuce, and chipotle mayo...it was so juicy and delicious! A side of sweet potato fries came with it. Most of the wines on the menu are served by the bottle, not by the glass, so I opted to drown my sorrows in a bottle of Shiraz. The ugly cry face came later for dessert ;) The lighting was dim and it was the perfect place to take a date or to unwind after a long day. The staff were the utmost professional and I will definitely be back here to nosh on that burger again. It also didn't hit the pocketbook terribly bad either, $33 for the whole night.

Eaten here twice. Once with another couple and once with my in-laws. On the first visit, I had the scallops on special. When they showed up, my husband was jealous. He had ordered some kind of ragu pasta that he described as something I'd cook from things I bought at Trader Joes. Not bad, but unremarkable. Their wine by the glass is good and their bottle are very reasonably priced. The waitress was able to recommend a bottle our entire table liked. They serve coffee roasted locally in Ferndale (my favorite) and try to source local ingredients where they can. My dining companions enjoyed crab cakes, a burger and another pasta dish. All were good.

8 of us went to the Cork before a performance at the Whiting. It has a very cool atmosphere; we enjoyed that very much. Nice, as there are so few nice dining choices around. Service here was e x t r e m e l y s l o w. The food was mixed. My son had the salmon; said it was overcooked. My husband ordered chicken and the piece was VERY small. The steak orders got rave reviews. Appetizers (don't even remember what we ordered) were ok. Nothing really terrible (except the chicken) and nothing exceptional. We were hoping for more. We mostly enjoyed the experience, but probably will not return soon.

The drinks are watered down food is better at the torch the chips are about the only thing worth a darn. You pay for more than you get here.

I can't get enough of the specials. I was having dinner here a few times a week for the longest time, now I get in as much as I am able. I recommend the specials, especially the fish if they have it. Marilyn is awesome at what she does at the bar too. She always comes up with random creations that are amazing. She knows her stuff.

Had another fantastic time at Cork last night. Staff was friendly and attentive, the beer I had was amazing, and it wasn't too loud. Beautiful bathrooms too.

Wonderful intimate dining. The mussels in white wine were excellent and nice served with toasted bread instead of heavy pasta. My husband had the scallop special a dish surprisingly prepared with mushrooms, and also excellent. Great wait staff! The women who is the hostess is incredibly nice.

I was in Flint on for business from DC and used Yelp to find a good place to have dinner. I was blown away with the restaurant. The service was friendly and helpful - our waitress provided recommendations and the chef even came out to speak with us about the specials. The atmosphere was intimate, relaxed and warm (despite the single-digit temperatures outside). The food was delicious, creative, and filling. I had the butternut squash soup and possibly the greatest grilled cheese ever. Any time i am back in Flint - I will go back to Cork.

Wow, wish I could go to this place more often. The reviews here don't lie. Fun little joint with top notch food and quality wines! They have a wine sampler machine that is really cool. You charge up your "credit card" with some $ and then scan it into the machine, select which wine you want to sample and the quantity of wine (from small 1-2oz. tastes to half glasses). Some reviews mention poor service, but I have had good success every time. The food is a rotating menu but everything I had has been really good. A typical night for us: Start at Cork, have an appetizer and some fine wine, head down the street to Blackstone's for dinner then top the evening off over at the Torch!

Tasty food, a good wine selection, and nice service makes it easy to put Cork on your list when you're in Flint. I came with a group of 6, so we were able to sample widely across the menu and everyone agreed that they really liked their meal. We started with the Dancing Goat Cheese Bruschetta (phenomenal), the Calamari (very tender), and a House Cheese Platter. I opted for the Carrot Soup special (a little thicker than I had expected - almost more like a puree) and the Crab Cakes (not huge, but all meat), which both had unique flavors that I enjoyed. We finished off the meal with the House Made Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies, which were enormous and deliciously fresh-out-of-the-oven warm.

Visitors to and residents of Flint, I urge you: GO TO CORK. It's a win-win. You'll be supporting an innovative and fabulous local business and you'll be eating awesome food. It's a no-brainer really. I was a little nervous when my friend said, "I'm taking you to my favorite restaurant in town after your show. You'll love it." I'm in Flint, Michigan (you've heard all the stories about the town - which by the way, are not true; this is a lovely little town of which locals can be justly proud) and I doubt that I'm going to "love" this restaurant that my friend swears I will. I did. It was love at first sight. Loved the classy, clean, contemporary decor in that fabulous old building. Loved our fun, sassy waitress who handled our crazy party of seven with grace and aplomb. Loved meeting the beautiful chef when she came out for a drink at the bar when all her patrons, save us rambunctious seven, had departed, well-fed and happy, into the cold Michigan night. And...most importantly...loved the food. Everyone loved what they got. Here's what I had: Bacon Cashew Caramel Corn. HOLY FREAKING HANNAH...has anyone thought of this before?!? Savory popcorn...flavored with caramel, bacon and cashews...crunchy, exciting, fun, bursts of deliciousness and joy in my mouth. Calamari (gluten free!) flash-fried to PERFECTION. A tad pricey at $12...but I'm going back today to have it again, so it must be worth it. Pork shoulder braised/stewed over mashed potatoes. Home-cooked, herb-y, melt in your mouth, down to earth, comforting goodness. Crème brûlée. I'm a snob. They rarely impress me. This one was fantastic. I would buy a tub of it and bathe in it if I could. Hello?!?! Where's my head...I forgot to mention...the wine list. Extensive. Something for every palate and purse. Okay, enough. I have four hours left in Flint and I'm waiting for that same friend to pick me up and take me back to Cork, so I can have another great meal and then go straight to the airport and fly away with lovely memories.

I am a huge fan of this place. Every staff member I have spoken with has been super nice and accommodating, and the vibe is both relaxed (on weeknights) and fun (on weekends). I find Cork's food better than 501 down the street, though I do like 501. It is much quieter than Blackstone's, and is fantastic for a party or an intimate dinner. The wine machine is a must try, especially for trying new varieties of wine at low $ risk, but I do agree with the other reviewer that there should be some munchies accompanying the wine and a place to dump tastes you don't like.

Was looking for a place along the way to see a concert in Auburn Hills. Searched all over in lots of different areas and came across the Cork on Saginaw. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. We arrived at about 5:05 not knowing that they didn't open until 5. Soon we realized that this was a great move as we could pick almost any seat in the house. The manager suggested a seat just inside the door, she told us to sit together so we could watch the game. Once the server came to our table it was apparent that we were in for a great experience. We tried the drinks that were suggested by the server. They were great but not really what we were looking for. Ended up ordering a bottle of wine. The wine selection was top notch. We got an app that was fantastic. I don't remember the name of any of the food we had but the only thing I do remember is that the food was AMAZING. We didn't try the wine machine but probably will when we make it back. I really hope the locals support this place so we can come back to enjoy it for many years to come. I know for sure that this will be a regular stop for me.

We dined here before taking in a show at the Whiting and I can't say that it would be a "destination" restaurant for us unless we were already in the area. The food was pricey but tasty and the decor and ambiance was pleasing. It seems like the place lawyers would go hang out after work. Not that that's a bad thing. Our waitress seemed a bit hasseled and we only saw her when she took our orders, delivered our food and gave us our check. It's alright though because we understand that waitstaff are occasionally overworked and stressed. Loved the varity of wines for sampling and the bartender was friendly and very creative.

The novelty of trying small samples of the wines never gets old - at least not yet! It's such a fun way to find the right wine to pair with your meal instead of guessing or taking the waiter's suggestion, who is likely unfamiliar with your preferences. On each of my visits, the food has been excellent. The Butternut Squash Lasagna was so good I asked for the recipe, but the chef said she doesn't even use one. I found a copy-cat version online which has become part of my regular rotation, but I still order it at Cork. On my last visit, they had wild mushroom lasagna instead and I was disappointed until it arrived and I had my first bite of this delicious and creamy dish. The lighting, design, and decor tell you that Flint is on the rise. Definitely visit this restaurant!

Absolutely the best food in Genesee County hands down. Chef Murphy puts her heart and soul into making sure that every dish is made from scratch all the way down to the ketchup. The filet is one of the best that I have had and it is so tender that you are given a butter knife for cutting. The eclectic menu and fresh ingredients make this our #1 place when eating out.

Stay away from the hot crab dip! The pitas were way too salty and the dip was bland & the portion was rather small for $12. Also the butchers ragu was just not good at all & the shrimp pasta dish is not good especially at $20.

First of all the food is fantastic, my favorite is the carrot soup and the lamb. The self serve wine is a neat way to wine taste, even if it is a bit steep, there is also a large selection of wine by the bottle. The 'jacuzzi' seating is nice and privet and the purple velvet couches are superb!

I don't find myself in Flint often but it's pretty much guaranteed that from now on when the need arises I will head to this cool find. K, N, and I had concert tickets for a show at The Whiting and found Cork On Saginaw through Yelp. The menu is a great mix for foodies like us and the wine list was impeccable. Our exchange student, N, is a Mac 'n Cheese connoisseur and was thrilled with her selection. K got seafood and I enjoyed a filet. The food was perfectly described, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. We had a few glasses of big, bold, California reds, loved the bread on the table and left satisfied and looking forward to a return trip. We didn't have reservations but they weren't packed (it was a weeknight). My only gripe, and the reason they're a solid four, was the situation we encountered in the beginning: talk about a rough takeoff. Despite several open tables we just couldn't get seated. From managers to hostesses to servers, people looked at us, smiled, said hello, but just couldn't connect the dots to seat us. I'm not sure if maybe it's a newer restaurant that hasn't ironed out the kinks. If not, well... Wow. Unfortunately, the service glitches didn't end there, we were seated, finally. We were told who our waitress would be, she came over and asked us if we wanted a wine list. She disappeared. No one came with water, then another waitress came over. We requested a wine list and water and were quickly given both. From here the service took off. The other waitress seemed to just flit around all night... Who knows. Not me.

Salads dry as a bone (except for some water on the lettuce) had to ask for extra vinaigrette. This is chef 101 - proper dressing of salad. Drinks from much vaunted cocktail menu poorly balanced. "Fresh lime juice" hah - there wasn't a hint of fresh juice tasting in either the pometini or the Margetini. Pometini should have generous pomegranite juice like Pom Wonderful, actual fresh lime juice, not Rose's... any sweetness should come from the liqueur not simple syrup or Roses (and that liqueur should be PAMA not Cointreau) grapefruit juice in Margetini tasted canned... Shrimp provencale terrible - undercooked shrimp, overcooked noodles, a watery sauce that didn't hold together or stick to the noodles... yeah 20 dollars steep for this mess French fries great, goat cheese appetizer great atmosphere great

A nice atmosphere and food is pricey but good, selection is limited and closed on Sunday and Monday. You can watch redwings games which is more than the bar down the street but thats about the only reason Id go there versus the 501.

Another great trip to Cork. How can white bean soup and a grilled cheese be so fantastic? Add French press coffee and bikes on the bricks and it was a great meal. I was a little put out by our server Samantha who explained she was new. She seemed to be struggling with waiting on everyone and even though other employees would look outside no one ever seemed to give her a hand

First off let me say i think it is wonderful that cork decided to come into downtown flint to revive a downtown area that didnt have any good places at all. With that said cork has alot of kinks to work out. I have been to cork a handful of times and everytime, major issues have surfaced. I am from the metro detroit area which houses great restaurants all over, great service, great food, they are all over the place down here, so i know my food. A huge concern is the service here. Unattentive, not informed, slow, dull. The kitchen has to get it together as well. Food comes out cold most the time, dishes come out at different times when you are with 4 or more and wait time is almost 45 mins,, salad lettuce is old, hamburgers dry and inconsistant, the list goes on. Most of the people from this area know there are really no fine dining places in flint and are just glad to have a new place so i really think they just accept all these mishaps in hopes it may get better. I can honestly say the only positives about this place is the space. It is beautiful, one feels like they are in chicago, new york when dining. Too bad the food and service is not up to par. Hopefully they will recognize these issues and figure out something a little more efficient....

Stopped out about a week after they opened. The wine machine was down, but we still enjoyed the meal and a bottle of wine! Food was terrific! Looking forward to going back and checking out the "wine on tap" next time and buying the "wine credit card"!!

First off, the service was great. Our waitress was attentive and well deserving of the 20% tip I left her. The ambiance was warm and classy. The dim lights give it a lounge feeling. I enjoyed the concept of being able to try different wines and certainly the 'wine on tap' concept is new to me. As a wine lover, I truly enjoyed that aspect. I would have preferred to be able to neutralize my taste buds in between tastes, however. If someone doesn't enjoy the wine they choose, they have nowhere to spit it out or throw it out. In wine tasting these two elements are basic. Unfortunately I was not impressed by the food. I ordered the sliders and the meat was cooked how I ordered yet it was flavorless. I would have enjoyed a side dish too; something small like chips or a side salad especially for the price I paid!

Oh my Lord, there is hope for Flint, MI. I came here after I ate (choked down) food at Churchills. Anyway, the tomato soup was flavorful and had a good bite to it. The wine machine, the Enomatic, was a new concept to me and pretty downright cool. This place had a relaxing vibe and the music put in the right amount of groove into the night. The food was outstanding.
