I love this this Blimpies, it excels from what you would expect from a chain sub shop and beats out the subways and jimmy john found on campus. The owner Nick who is there working most of the times is one of the nicest and happiest people you'll meet and will put a smile on your face. They have alot of variety in the subs you can get. Two of my favorites are Buffalo Chicken and Turkey, Beef Cheddar. They have also have a flat-screen TV to keep you entertained if you are eating alone. Don't be intimidated if you come in at lunch time and you see a long line. Unlike the other sub-shops on campus which are crewed by apathetic students talking to their friends, Blimpies is unbelievably fast and efficient, you wont wait in line ever for more than 5 mins. If you are driving there are 4-5 spots available on the buildings right side (the ones with "Bs" with them) Interesting note: It is located in a old historical building which served as the headquarters for the ambassador bridge build crew.

Best sub shop in university district. Friendly, clean, family run location. Great menu, nice seating and easy parking. Everybody loves this place. Fast take away & call in's. Highly Recommended.

What can i say? hungry but finding subway or something similar too skimpish or bland? blimpies is without a doubt the best sub and wrap place i've been to in the metro area especially the one in cass corridor. The owner is extremely nice and familiar with most of the customers so you're only a stranger the first time. I almost always order the spinach wrap with turkey and provolone and i've never been unsatisfied. Theres always room to sit at a booth with a friend or alone to eat and catch some world news. :)

I love love love this place!!! The food is fantastic and the family who runs it is full of super sweet people who care about their customers. I've never had a bad experience. :) I always buy a ham and swiss on pretzel bread with a tomato ravioli soup. Yum. Enjoy!

A wonderful surprise in the midst of Midtown and the Wayne State campus. As other reviewers have noted, the owner, Nick, immediately personalizes your experience with a cheerful smile and quickly, amazingly remembers you the next time you come in! Maintains a considerably above average level of freshness in its sandwich and cookie offerings. The sandwiches are made to order with a smile, and the cookies almost melt in your hands! A small seating area often gets busy at midday, but moves itself along. I'd like to try more of the menu, but I've been super - satisfied with my initial selection of wrap sandwiches. Will definitely continue to come here as time goes on.

I would eat here every day if my wallet allowed it. I hate eating pretty much anywhere else on campus. The owner, Nick, is awesome. I mean, you walk in, and he's right there, making sandwiches and helping out his staff. He's always in a great mood, remembers everyone, and keeps the line moving. They have a few new people working there currently and he's all about keeping them up to speed, in the nicest way possible. Their subs are great, you'll never wait more than 5 minutes, and there are always fresh cookies. I personally love the Sicilian on ciabatta...so, so good. For that + a meal (a side of chips and a medium pop), it usually runs me close to $8. Not bad at all!

been going to wayne state for four years and never really want to eat anywhere else. the guy that works there is SO nice. there's only one employee from what i've seen but he's always so friendly, cheerful, and glad to serve you. he never seems to have a bad day or skip a beat. he's freaking awesome. if the food wasn't so good, i'd say he was the best thing about the place. he's always smiling and in a great mood. it's like he loves his job or something. even though he seems to be the only guy around, he makes everything in a timely fashion. food's awesome. great price, great ingredients. i'm crazy about the jalapeno cheddar bread because there's actual jalapenos in the bread and not like the flavor of it or a hint of it. actual slices of jalapenos in the bread. hallelujah. and i mean, an 89 cent cup of macaroni salad is the perfect solution for a really broke college student every day as a snack. you really can't complain about it at that point. i like going there on the weekend too when it's nice and quiet. it's nice to watch the tv, do homework, watch people ride their bikes and stuff. it's on a nice, quiet street. no crazy intersection or parking nightmare. sometimes i go to blimpie's to enjoy the fact that i can park in peace and then eat something while i'm at it. the food does not taste like mass produced corporation stuff. it really tastes like a guy in a sandwich shop who really wants to make good sandwiches. even if it is a chain place, it would have fooled me. there really isn't anywhere else to get a sandwich.
