Diabetics at Jamba Juice:

Eating good food at the right time can control your blood sugar, also stop you from craving wrong sort of food. Jamba Juice offers drinks in three separate sizes: 16, 24, and 32-ounce. You can choose the lowest serving size and cut down on sugars and calorie intake. If you're diabetic and concerned about the sugar intake, then you can opt for the smaller 9.5-ounce smoothies available for kids at Jamba Juice.

Foods to Avoid at Jamba Juice for Diabetics:

Jamba Juice is primarily known for its highly satisfying and nutritive smoothies and juices. Almost every smoothie and juice item on the Jamba Juice menu contains sugar. Diabetics are recommended to opt for smaller serving size while ordering at Jamba Juice. Also, avoid opting for creamy treats as all the smoothies offered in this category contain a load of sugars.

Keep the sugar content below 50g per meal at Jamba Juice and ensure that you don't follow it with a heavy meal. A small size regular smoothie is equivalent to a meal for everyone. Classic smoothies at Jamba Juice are also heavily loaded with sugars. Stay away from that section if you are a diabetic.

This cute little place doesn't look like much but wait until you try a grilled maple cinnamon rollgreat service!

Disgusting hole in the wall. I was traveling through the beautiful town of Charlevoix and though a quaint dinner like this would be nice. I was horribly mistaken. Was greeted by a disheveled teenager who looked like she hadn't showered in weeks. Was placed next to the restroom when the entire place was vacant (should of been my first hint). Food was bland and very limited. Was told they are not allowed to place cheese on there eggs...what!? Ordered eggs and three strips of bacon. Bill came to $14.50. Outrageous! Spoke with, who I thought was, the manager about the matter. Wouldn't do a damn thing about. I don't say this often but I can't wait until this place is shut down.

Having read about this place in Roadfood, we arrived hoping for excellent pancakes, and that is exactly what we got. Each pancake is enormous, available in either buttermilk, raspberry, or blueberry. In addition we had a delicious maple roll that was unlike anything we had ever had. We would certainly come back here if we're in town again!

This place is delicious! Though pricey for *one* slice of French toast (as much as $4.75, depending on the variety) it's worth it every time! Their eggs are awesome, and their homemade (?) breads out of this world. We crave Juilleret's when we aren't "up north." I skipped the fourth and fifth stars because of their "fresh squeezed OJ..." I saw them pouring it from a name brand bottle. WHAAAT?!? They charge $3.50 for a large glass of fresh POURED OJ. That's junk!

All I can say is never again. Expensive ... shockingly so. The food was so-so. I have to believe this is a place that stays open because it used to be great ... in the 1980s. Our group of three ordered coffee, water, 1 piece of toast, a egg white omelet (that was teenie-tiny) and 1 piece of French toast and one order of bacon. Our bill was crazy expensive -- as if we were eating steak at a top-drawer steak house. I was so looking forward to eating at at Juilleret's -- and was so disappointed. Really felt cheated. A shame, really.

It only takes once, maybe two visits to Charlevoix to realize the best breakfast in town is the one you make at the cottage. This place (along with FlapJack, HarborView, and Judy's) never fails to disappoint. (I'll rate those dicks later.) As for Juileret's (NOONE knows how to pronounce it....even the servers have different takes.) This place blows (mainly) because it is UNREASONABLY PRICED. Food and portions are average at best but almost $60 for breakfast for my wife and I and a 9 yr old and a 4 yr old.....absolutely ridiculous. Even if the food was out of this world, I still would never go back just out of principle (or basic common sense)

go there to buy homemade bread its the only thing this place gets right bad device subpar food high prices

Highly recommend the pumpkin bread french toast... really, really good. Biscuits are very fluffy and Huge! Very friendly waitress... she gave good suggestions, refilled my drink quickly, but didn't smoother us.

Not as great as I remember, but the french toast is still very good The business is for sale and a new owner could help out as the place seemsto be hurting and relying on a reputation fromthe 80's

  • Pat J.

We went there for breakfast. While we didn't order pancakes we did have their omelets. Mine was wrong and I had to wait while the others ate. I have definitely had better. Very high priced and quality not that good.

The food is always good. And home fries with onion and multiple cheese choices?! Yes please! I know their bread/french toast is their big thing - and don't get me wrong it is delicious. I always seem to get something else because the french toast is very very sweet. If you are new to the place, get a slice and share it! The service is the reason why we're at 4 stars here. There is ALWAYS service issues. Even if no one else is in the restaurant the food comes out and different times and drinks are forgotten about. This latest time people around us ordered and got their food because we were even said hello to by the waitress. Since I'm a sucker for home fries, a couple bites of french toast, and an omelet to my liking, I continue going back every time I'm in the area.

The lunch sandwiches were pricey for what you receive, a lot of bread, no meat, pickles or chips. The blueberry pancakes were good but not worth $3.50 each. I had breakfast here about five years ago and it was a good experience. I can't say the same for this visit.

Used to love it in the 80's. It has gone wayyyyyyyyy downhill, potions are smaller and prices are OUTRAGEOUS! Coffee is incredibly weak, French toast was cold and undercooked. Waitress was nice, biscuits and gravy were a B.

I had heard that Juilleret's had some of the country's best pancakes-- turns out, I heard right! I got the raspberry pancakes (although they had blueberry and blackberry as well). The pancakes were large, but light and fluffy, with perfectly crisped edges. Honestly, some of the best I've ever had. My boyfriend got a Denver omelet, which he said was good, but it paled in comparison to his side of grilled cinnamon raisin bread. The bread is fresh made at Juilleret's and absolutely perfect. Don't get it toasted-- get it grilled! It's sweet, buttery and soft in the middle. I guess the only thing I was a little surprised about was the price-- for the omelet, pancake, a side of sausage, coffee and a glass of juice, the total was almost $40-- which is a little pricey for a roadside diner in upper Michigan. But, when you make the country's best pancakes, I guess you can get away with it.

It pains me to give this joint a low rating as we used to always drive the 30-40 minutes from Torch Lake JUST to come to breakfast here and walk around downtown Charlevoix while up north. Until recently it's been a few years since I've visited, but a few years ago this place was THE BEST breakfast in town. People often waiting an HOUR just to get a morsel of their delicious pancakes or thick cut french toast showcasing their homemade bread. So of course I talked it up to my fiance- 'Their pancakes are huge and delicious, with fresh berries, and homemade breads!' So when we visited to find out not only these once ginormous pancakes normally the size of a dinner plate shrunk, and charged the same amount. Their once plump, juicy, perfectly cooked sausage was now a shrived piece of jerky. I was uber disappointed on this particular trip, and a little embarrassed finding myself making up excuses for them. 'Well it used to be really good... I don't know what happened.' I honestly don't see myself wanting to make the trek for breakfast, I can make better in our tiny cabin.

Juillerets is good, but is entirely overindulgent both in terms of your budget and daily calorie load. Delicious-indulgent, though. Indeed. Their French toast is famous. With good reason. Just don't be surprised by the brutality of the check at the end of the meal...

Never again..., my morals won't let me. The cost of the food is absolutely insane. Everything is A al carte and every little thing cost extra. A $1 to put a tomato on a $7 burger and another $1 for lettuce as well? There are "No cell phone" signs everywhere... 1 is ok, but to put them everywhere even on the menu is just plain rude. There was 1 waitress in the room we were in and she was barking "rules" at everyone... a man at the next table over took out his cell phone and just looked at it and she came running over yelling at him. Every table in the room just rolled their eyes and laughed at how ridiculous this waitress was being. Sorry, if I'm giving you business and paying out the behind for it... don't give me a list of rules to follow. There was 3 of us, I got eggs and toast because I couldn't bring myself to spend anything extra here. The eggs were runny and disgusting but I wasn't about to ask the waitress to have them cooked better. The total bill came to $45 of us 3, and we just got water to drink. All these other reviews say the same thing... you would think the owners of this money pit would catch on?

Fresh, tasty, homemade baked goods! (but the coffee seemed overly expensive for a pot of diner coffee...)

We stayed in a motel just across the parking lot from Juilleret's, and got take-out breakfast from there based on some positive reviews we'd read online. We second the recommendations to try the berry pancakes (they offer blueberry, strawberry or raspberry -- and unlike many other restaurants they cook the berries right in the batter instead of glopping pie fillin atop the cakes) and the grilled rolls. I couldn't imagine a grilled maple roll, but I tasted my partner's, and it was wonderful -- gooey and warm and caramel-y. The restaurant is a bit spendy, but if you want something a bit more special than fast food, this is a great choice.

Everything is ala cart... Way over priced... You could spend $20 on three eggs, hash-browns, sausage, toast and a OJ! We ordered two Pepsi's, were served diet, I flagged the waitress & she had to check her ticket to see if we had indeed ordered Pepsi (really)...she did return with two Pepsi's. Lunch was a corned beef sandwich which I requested to bread to be grilled, a BLT and onion rings. Both sandwiches came on side plates...no garnishment...and the bread had not been grilled for the corned beef sandwich, I again got the waitresses attention and had her return it to the kitchen to be grilled...when it came back to the table it was covered in hash browns (to my surprise they did not charge extra for the potatoes). The waitress said the cook had attitude when she returned the sandwich...really not my problem! The corned beef was maybe three ounces, and the BLT was two slices of bacon...take into consideration, at $7.50 a sandwich I did not expect a huge deli sandwich...but kind of expect the meat to cover the bread... One BLT One corned beef, one order of onion rings and two Pepsi's... $27.00 and attitude to boot! The menu is very limited and overpriced, with a greasy-spoon atmosphere. I spent 10+ years in restaurant management, never will I return here.

This place is so horribly overpriced that you'd be a fool to stop here. The food is ok and interesting, but $35 for two people for breakfast? I had one slice of French toast, 3 strips of bacon, and a coffee. My friend had an omelette and orange juice. Yup, $35. Plus, she tried to charge me for two French toasts @ $9. Keep going. There's a cute bakery on Bridge Street downtown.

All of my NW Michigan friends rave about Juilleret's so I was stoked when I finally had the opportunity to try it out. I read the menu and it seemed run-of-the-mill. But then I tried the food and the light appeared. The rolls (cinnamon) are homemade, then split open and grilled. This gave the opportunity for the frosting to be slightly gooey and perfect. The eggs are done right. The sausage biscuits-n-gravy are different but in a good way. The gravy has a nice kick and the biscuits are like cornbread. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more items on the menu.

When I go out to a restaurant, I'm looking for service, and our experience today was unbelievably wonderful. The wait staff not only kept on top of everything, but maintained a level of friendliness and helpfulness which exceeded some of the finest restaurants I've ever visited. Even though we've been to Charlevoix many times, there's always something new to learn about the area, and the staff was friendly and right on top of suggestions and helpful information. Oh, and the French Toast, and Reuben sandwiches are excellent also.

  • Thom B.

Juilleret's is the only breakfast place I've found worth mentioning in Charlevoix, but it is good enough to carry the load all alone. I recommend the blueberry pancakes and a grilled maple roll. I thought the prices were reasonable, and the service is always great. Do yourself a favor and try it.
