Excellent food, great service and very reasonable prices. You can't beat that combination.

Standard Americanized Mexican restaurant. This place can be busy on weekends, especially when it is warm outside and people prefer the outdoor patio area. You may have to wait if you prefer patio on the warmer days/nights, otherwise you can get seated promptly inside. The establishment is clean and decorated is very unique and colorful designs. The menu has your standard items you find at the majority of these types of Mexican restaurants. Chips are not always warm and come with minimal salt so you can add as you prefer. The salsa is a puree type, no chunks of tomatoes. The spice/heat level is very low. There are bottles of different types of hot sauce at the table that you can add to your salsa to make it just as hot as you like it. Service is quick and prices are low.

Really good Mexican food tucked away in a quiet suburb of Detroit. Food is simple and well seasoned. Mexican food kept to it's authenticity as well as the ambiance, unlike chain wanna be Mexican restaurants. In short good people, good food. As always you have to try it to believe it. #happyeating

I say Si Si Si. I've been to this restaurant several times since it has opened at this location. I am always happy with the friendly, swift service, consistently tasty dishes, and the price. Upon entering you can't help but notice the colorful oversized furnishings that adorn this American Mexican restaurant. Next time you are in this area and want some Mexican cuisine, there is NO other choice. Not one that will leave you satisfied in your tummy and your pocket book.

Pollo telluca - awesome! We love coming here as a family because it is so close to our house. Between the vibrant staff & colors of the building....it's a winner. The food is exactly what you'd expect. However this past trip I ordered the Pollo Teluca and was very surprised at how amazing this dish was.

This place was GREAT!!! The chips & salsa were the best of any Mexican restaurant I've been to! We had a birthday party with 12 people & we all left full & happy!!! We will be going back for sure :)

I've been here countless times and am yet to be disappointed with the good our service. Also, $5, 32 ounce beers

Our favorite when it comes to Mexican food. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is always hot and looks and tastes fresh. The chips and salsa are amazing. I am not sure why it only has 3 1/2 stars at the moment, because it deserves better than that. There drinks are really good and strong and get served within 2 minutes of ordering.

This place is off the beaten path of of crazy Ford Rd. When you walk in, you are immediately immersed in a rainbow of bright tropical colors. It is beautiful...Our table was almost to pretty to sit at! Our waiter (Dambian..sp?) was so nice. The service was fast and always with a smile : ) I asked for hotter salsa and he brought out a MUY MUY CALIENTE sauce. It was a reddish/brown, thick sauce and OMG HOT! So I mixed a little of that with the green habanero and red sauce and I was good to go. We immediately received hot chips, which were light, not so light that they crumbled, and not heavy and greasy. They were lightly salted PERFECT. We all started off with LARGE ($8) margaritas. They were good and tasty, but not $8 good and tasty. Thankfully they weren't too intoxicating, but for $8 I should taste some top shelf tequila in there. Don't get me wrong, the lime tasted good, but I wanted a little more tequila taste. I hade the Burrito Verde and it was YUM ($9). To me, the quality justified the price. It's not a huge portion, but it was perfect, for me. It's not Canton's Mexican Fiesta...(which is blech..to this place). The burrito with filled with nicely seasoned and marinated shredded beef, which was cooked perfectly. NO FAT and very tender. The green verde sauce reminded me much of a suiza sauce. I noted that they had a suiza burrito too..so I may try that next time. NOW here is the kicker! I don't usually eat the rice served with the meal, but I ate the rice, served here. It was light and flavorful. Most of the time this is just a second thought and very mushy..The beans were perfect. Nice flavor. One of the girls had the Filipina. The presentation alone was awesome! There was so much food. She said the flavor was awesome; a little sweet to go with the spice. Also noted, usually you get more peppers and onions rather than the meat...in this dish you got a lot of chicken, steak and shrimp. Another friend ordered the Molcaljete, which was recommended by Dambian. Again, interesting presentation. It was tricky to eat. They should actually give you a small plate so that you can prepare your taco. She had to eat some of her rice and then take items from the Molcaljete bowl and prepare her taco. She said it was good. Nice seasoning. I don't think it was her favorite dish. I tried the cactus and was surprised that it didn't have a sweet flavor. It just tasted like a grilled green veggie. With three margaritas and three entrees our bill came to $61. yeah, pricey but the service, atmosphere and quality (and unique items) justified the $$.

Had a fun, margarita-filled afternoon here! We tried the quesadillas, which were good, but the salsa was blah! People are right, the place is wild and colorful! And the staff is courteous, if a little quiet. Will go back to try a full meal!

I like this place. We head out to eat here a couple of times a month. I've decided to try a bit of everything on the menu and haven't been disappointed yet. Besides your standard burrito with beans and rice fare, the Chicken with Mole is excellent. The margaritas are pretty good too. As always, be careful not to fill up on the tortilla chips. The only downside is on really cold days the floor plan at the entry way doesn't allow enough space to keep the chill out.

We've come here 3 times now, once with each of our folks, and once with just my family of four. We've had small kids with us each time. The decor is very bright, almost to a fault. But the kids like it, and it's kind of endearing. There are murals on all the wallls that are great for I-Spy while we wait for food. Waitstaff have always been nice, and they accommodate kids very well. We always see lots of families with kids there. It's pretty loud, so small kids fit right in. It's fine if you don't have kids, but it's probably not the best place for a quiet romantic dinner. The food is pretty good ... 4/5 stars for the price and genre, like this review. I actually really like their rice and beans ... Definitely more flavor than some other places I've been. All the food in general is better than many family-friendly Mexican places I've been. Not the best in the metro area, but definitely pretty good. Dinner entrees range from 8-15, so it's pretty inexpensive. They also have an a la carte section, and nice vegetarian section.

Ok basically sums it up... As of right now (6/2015), there are two Mexican restaurants in town and I would rank this in second place. I came on a Wednesday night at about 7:15 and it wasn't overly busy. I was greeted quickly and asked for a table outside. Shortly after sitting down I was given a basket of chips and a bottle of salsa. While the salsa was ok (a little bland), the chips were very stale. The menu is extensive. A lot of options. Chicken, pork, beef, seafood and everything in between. I looked at the menu and decided on the beef taquito dinner. I think I should have ordered something else. It wasn't all that great. The shredded beef had very little taste and the consistency reminded me of a stringy pot roast. Maybe it's supposed to be that way, but I didn't care for it. It came with a very small amount of sour cream, salsa and an extremely under ripe tomato. On a positive note, they have a full bar. The margaritas are very good. They also have outdoor seating which sets it aside from Mexican Fiesta, but I would rather go there.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurant around!! Amazing food, Friendly waitresses. Any customization welcomed. The free chips and salsa was great! good selection of hot sauces! We ordered the basic stuff chille poblanos ... Yum. Bigger than usual! Spinach and mushroom Chimichanga with verde! Awesome!!! The place as such super busy! Little dizzy decor inside!but we sat outside, really nice. But heard they are going to paint it to, "noooo". Will definitely recommend this place.

Came with my girlfriend and her son. When we received the chips & salsa her 3 year old son said "mom this looks like pizza sauce". He was right. My food was ok I ordered 3 enchiladas. I think this is more tex-Mex. not impressed. Don't think il be returning!

Finally a 'burban Ameri-Mex place I actually quite enjoy. I was so shocked I had to go back just to make sure. Nope the first visit was no fluke. I likey. More importantly my husband liked it. Yay for a new local option, a straight shot up Belleville Rd/Canton Center for me, so I can have freeway avoidance. Happiness. I walked in and my eyes were assaulted by the atmosphere. Gah. Overkill on the kitsch, seriously. Despite the cool evening my husband made me sit inside because "bugs in my food will piss me off Liz". That is what he said, actions speak louder than words though, his Tiger game watching was oh so discrete with me strategically placed under the TV, mmmhmmm. It was kind of a shame because the patio looks like the best place to be, well unless you need to watch baseball. We were started with warm non greasy chips and some basic gringo salsa. Fresh. I asked about hotter salsa and they were quick and happy to oblige me with a very nice zippy sauce. In addition a little condiment tray on each table holds Tapatio, Cholula and 3 El Yucateca hot sauces (red habanero, green habanero and XXXtra Hot Kutbil-ik). This all made me feel better. I was intrigued by some options here. Lots of variety on the menu. This can be an asset or a restaurants downfall. I was reassured by Darin's review and dove in. Molcajete jumped out at me because it was something I had never heard of outside of being a mortar and pestle. Of course I ordered it. My husband went with a super platter that had a combo of steak, chicken and shrimp sauteed with peppers, onions and tomatoes that also came with (I kid you not) four cheese quesadillas. Priced at 12.50, it could have fed both of us, as it ended up he made two full meals out of it himself. My molcajete arrived in the supersize sizzling mortar bowl. A slab of chicken, a slab of steak and a slab of cactus jutted out of the sides. There was a simmering sauce with a pile of chorizo in it and strips (of what was labeled as queso fresco but I think may have actually been queso panela) cheese delightfully melting around it. Two grilled green onions with the largest heads I have ever seen were on either side and one whole giant freshly roasted jalapeno floats near the edge. It was ginormous and quite a show. They also brought some tortillas (you pick corn or flour) as well as a seperate plate full of white cheese covered beans and rice. I honestly had no clue where to begin. It was delightful. My only slight beef with it was that the steak was a tad bit chewy but bear in mind I am a total snob who hates sirloin (basically I only eat high end or slow cooked beef, yikes that sounds bad). Cutting the meat into small pieces worked well enough for me at any rate. The chicken, chorizo, cheese and cactus were very nice indeed. The onions cracked me up, just the look of them. The jalapeno was great in small doses and added fun bits of heat. I ended up taking a ton of it home. Again, enough for two meals. We revisited because I was still suspicious. We ate some terrific chicken tortilla soup, it manages to be brothy yet oddly creamy as well as light yet full of chicken. Order some, I can see this becoming a fall go to for me. James had the fajitas in a pineapple, aka Fajipina, dish which he loved and I ordered his super platter because we wanted to two meal it with big leftovers again. Happily they let me get it without the steak and just get more chicken and shrimp instead. Yay! Yep plenty still. The staff on both occasions were quick with refills, fine with special requests and very friendly. The place was clean and had plenty of staff keeping it that way. Drinks look freaking huge and there were plenty of specials going on them. They have buck tacos on Mondays and half off apps every night after 8pm. Yep we will be back. I have to manage a margarita sometime, they look promising as well as big. Ooooh or maybe a Pacifico. I have to come back at least twice obviously.

Today's visit was forgetful. We walked in just ahead of the on slaught of other diners and the staff wasn't ready for the chaos to begin. I recognized some of the servers and one server who was acting as manager tonight. This concept is getting ready to open another local place n Plymouth so I understand the amount of people but I really don't believe a training program exists for any category of employment with this group. Our server was very slow to get our table started. Then never offered drink refills or stopped to ask. No chip or salsa refills without assistance of manager. Not enough silverware on table for all members of group, again had to get from manager as server couldn't be found. No salesmanship of cocktails or desserts and we know this hurts the restaurants bottom line. Lots of talking in Spanish, I presume over assignment of tables still 25 minutes after we arrived. I've liked this place for years but tonight was not a good foot forward. Hopefully things return to normal after the trainees get relocated.

Ew. And Ew. On a packed Thursday evening, we headed in. I've been here before for Sangria and chips/guac on the porch. Just not inside for a long time, or for any real food. My friends from Germany were in and wanted Mexican. Since I'm not a Mexican Fiesta fan at all, this was our next choice in Canton. A bad one. I remedied the situation the next day heading down to Mexicantown, but still.... Service: bad. We had to ask 3 times for water. Food: Yuck. Chips: stale. Salsa: bland and ketchupy. As my friend said when we were leaving, "bad restaurant, and bad movie. They should have a picture of 3 amigos outside to warn you." This is my first 1 star review I've ever written in 300+ reviews.

The chicken chimichingas are the best the cream cheese sauce is really great. The chicken inside has great flavor. Also love their loaded nachos as an appetizer. We finally found a great dish to order there and we love it. Still love their margaritas they taste really great. We are definitely hooked!

Plymouth/Canton's best Mexican restaurant by 100%. I love their enchiladas and tacos! Their salsa is great, but even better when you mix in one of the many hot sauces found on the table to enhance the heat, which is perfect for me, cause I like it HOT! Their refried beans were the best I ever had, perfect texture. Great cheerful waitstaff. I can't wait to come back soon.

Font judge the restaurant by the quality of salsa they serve .... Wait for the food.... Best place to get perfect margaritas during happy hours.... They Only offer discounts on regular margaritas but two of those regular margaritas would do enough damage ;) ordered fajipino , it was good amount can easily feed two normally hungry people or one awefully hungry person.... The shrimp on top of fajipino were awesome.... Neither under nor over cooked.... Would suggest restaurant to change their salsa chips and food and service everything is okay ....

This is my favorite restaurant on the planet. Yes, the planet. They have the best margaritas. I always get the lime and they come in different sizes. I have tried many other flavors there but the frozen lime always wins. A bunch of Mexican places have terrible salsa and chips. Los Tres Amigos is packed full of flavor and it's chunky, not runny like some other places. I always get a chimichanga and have it filled with just cheese. They have the best cheese ever there. It's a white cheese, and they sure don't skimp on it. I love visiting during the summer also. They have an outside patio that is perfect to sit at and sip your margarita. The parking is kind of cramped and hard to get in and out if they are busy. I sometime park next door. Go! Best Mexican around!

We love this place! We go once every couple of weeks and we always polish off at least two bottles of their salsa. You can tell it's made fresh - for example sometimes it has more onion and sometimes more cilantro. I always get food to go for lunch the next day!

I went in here on a Wednesday when it was rainy and cold outside. I was really surprised at how busy they were under the circumstances. I ordered a combo plate which had a taco, a burrito and a tamale. The food was decent, although I didn't care too much for the sauce they put on top. It was OK, just not the best I've ever had. The service was good and the place seemed clean inside. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit.

Love this Mexican restaurant. The staff and food are great. Always get guacamole, and chips as appetizers as they're amazing. The staff is real friendly that help with suggestions and tips on what to order if you're not sure. I got the chicken fajitas and being grilled on the skillet and was brought out in one too. The fresh tortilla with the sides were amazing. Defiantly recommend this place to anyone. Being right next 3 Mexican restaurants I always go here and never an issue. At times even with parties I get carry out for there chips and salsa and guacamole and it's always packed properly and to the order. Which is something I enjoy. Don't have to worry about double checking. Everything is made fresh.

Wasn't sure what to expect from a Michigan Mexican restaurant, kind of received what I expected. A bunch of pre-boxed food with the best descriptor being, "Average". They don't have black beans, only re-fried which gives you an idea right from the start. Margaritas come from a mix, salsa tastes like it's from a jar, Fajita meats are served non-sizzling and fairly bland. I think I used half of the hot sauce bottle during my trip. The food is not bad by any means, just extremely unimpressive and unfortunately feels like a Mexican restaurant run by a non-Latino. Staff and decor is very nice and pleasant, but the reason you go there (the food) has a lot to be desired.

We visited for the first time with a group of friends. Two from our group had already been and recommended the place. We arrived just as they opened on Sunday afternoon. Our group of 8 was seated right away. They had a lunch menu as well as drink specials that everyone ordered from. Service was fast and the food was hot. Chips and salsa stayed replenished. A pretty good apt to try.

I went in on a Tuesday night and there were a moderate number of people dining. Some of my first impressions were that it is very clean & tidy, the decor is great for the Mexican dining experience. The wait staff were very friendly, and the service was quick. This is what got them the two stars. On to the food now. The chips were bland and clearly out of a bag. The salsa was worse. It was like smooth marinara sauce trying to pass off as salsa. YUCK! My carne asada was ready in literally 4 minutes. This told me that everything else had been pre-made and pre-plated. The meat was an OK cut of skirt steak, but again - absolutely without flavor. Actually, nothing of the entire meal had any real flavor. All in all, it was barely OK. I certainly won't go back as I continue to attempt to duplicate my Rosarita and Ensenada dining experiences.

Seriously?! These restaurants make me feel as though its okay to be a food snob. My boyfriend and were pretty excited to try this spot out tonight because we saw the great reviews, however we...okay mainly me, was so utterly disappointed at the quality of the food. We ordered a side of guacamole, which tasted bland and needed some more salt (granted it main have even been the avocado). The chips I have to admit were better than most places. They were dripping with oil and the salsa was standard and mild. I did like the fact that they offer an array of hot sauces but that's all I liked from tonight. I ordered the enchiladas rancheras and was shocked at what came out. It looked like someone had accidentally poured some salsa over my barely noticeable enchiladas and threw in some mixed veggies on top. I have never eaten that dish with peppers and onions with a salsa like sauce. The cheese was pretty bad and had a consistency of gum that had been chewed for wayyyy too long. The dish came with a side of sour cream and guac wish was nice to cover up the weird cheese taste. My boyfriend got the quesadilla del mar which came with two quesadilla-one filled with veggies and shrimp and the other filled with veggies and imitation crab...yes I said and meant IMITATION crab. Disgusting. He even found a nice golden hair in his plate. The service was fast and polite but that was the only thing good about this place. Bleh! I would choose Mexican Fiesta any day over this place!

Enjoyed my first visit that will more than likely not be the last time my family and I dine here. I found the salsa to be too hot for my tastes, but that's coming from someone who doesn't even put salt or pepper on anything ever..... Other than that that was my only complaint. Loved the tacos and so did my wife and son!! Sure is nice to find a new restaurant that I've never even noticed until today.... Guess I need to venture out a little more.....

This is by far one of the best Mexican Restaurants in Canton. It is colorful and I love the fact that they play cultural Latino based music. It makes the environment authentic. Good food and drinks. The Margaritas are the best. The Wait Staff is great.

A favorite for a family meal. Kids love it, the staff is friendly. Also generous margaritas and Mojitos. Look for coupons in the mail and you can't go wrong with any menu item!

This is the latest addition to the Canton area's many Americanized Mexican restaurants, and it is a tremendously enjoyable one at that. They have a nice patio for warm evenings, plenty of seating and friendly and prompt service. Best of all is the technicolor interior - every chair, booth, table and wall in the place is decorated with vibrantly colored carved scenes. It's kind of awesome. The menu is extensive and very well-priced. They have the typical dishes you'd expect to find, plus some new ones. They have a bunch of seafood dishes that sounded good, as well as a Molcajete, or a trio of meats served with a kind of warm chili sauce in a stone bowl. They do have the unfortunately tendency to offer many dishes covered in "cheese sauce." My husband ordered a burrito that was supposed to come with it and he simply asked for them to hold it, no problem. Both of us ordered beef dishes - he a big burrito, and I had steak fajitas. He LOVED his dish, and my fajitas were great. Nice portion, well-seasoned, and they came with a generous side of sour cream and guacamole, along with beans and rice. The chips are warm and fresh, and the salsa is tasty. We did ask for some 'hot' salsa, and what they brought us wasn't necessarily so much hotter than their regular, but it had a different taste and a different kind of chili in it, which was also delicious. I recommend asking for it. This is definitely not a place that you should go expecting 'authentic' Mexican or regionally-specific dishes. But it is a good quality American version of Mexican, so as long as you know that you won't be disappointed.

First of all - this building is fantastic! What a beautifully bright restaurant with a perfect large patio for spring and summer meals. Right now if you are coming from Ford Road on Canton Center Road, the second driveway is under construction so don't miss the first entrance or you'll have to turn around further down the road. Once inside the restaurant be prepared for a rainbow of color on every available surface. It is festive and fun and certainly affected the mood of the customers as they seemed to be relaxed and having fun. Our waiter was very attentive although our meals did take quite some time to reach us. I ordered the chimichanga with shrimp covered in cheese cream sauce while my friend had two chicken tacos. My dish was piping hot and had good flavor, it was a little spicy, but not overpowering. My friend was not overly impressed with his chicken tacos and was somewhat disappointed that they did not offer deep fried flour taco shells as they only had the corn shells for hard tacos. He also did not find his original choice of a botana on the menu. Again, when it was time for our bill it took quite a long time for us to grab our waiter but then he waited while we gathered our payment which I thought was extremely nice. In all, I'm glad we tried a new Mexican restaurant out and they had dishes that I was not used to seeing on the standard menus in the area. At the same time I was disappointed in the generic taste of our food and the slow service overall at the restaurant. I probably won't be back but it was a good experience.

Get the carnitas!! They melt in your mouth! What these people do to pork borderlines on obscene. Also, cheap margaritas and excellent service. What's to not love?

I'm having a tough time giving a rating to this one - probably a 3.5, but I feel like I just can't quite give it 4 stars. We've been here a handful of times because it is actually pretty decent tex-mex for the area. Plus, I personally really enjoy their salsa and they have this white cheese dip that is so yummy (so long as you aren't counting calories). When you walk in it's kind of like an assault on your eyes. No, you didn't accidentally take some kind of hallucinogenic, that's just the way they decorated the place. But, heck, it's clean, so I can't complain too much. Plus there's a big outdoor patio - if it's summer you can avoid some of the eye strain. I almost always get enchiladas, and they're at least average. Nothing that will knock your socks off, but consistently tasty. All in all, A-OK is just about the right description. I'm not crazy about their margarita's (I think it's the sour mix), but they have Dos Equis Amber on draft, so I often end up with a giant mug of that in front of my face. Not too bad. Oh, and the service has always been fine. Friendly and fast. No complaints. Prices are pretty good too - lots of food without having to spend lots of dough.

I'm a 2... Ken's 3 made our combined score a 2.5 = 3 stars. They were packed the weeknight that we went, with people actually waiting to dine in, and Ken having to park in the back next to the garbage dumpster. I was expecting something amazing! Salsa was good, with a nice heat level. Chips were average. I chose the Shrimp Chimi because the menu description said it was loaded with shrimp, smothered in cheese dip. Oooh! What it really came loaded with was chunks of stewed tomato and slices of onion. Five small shrimp in the whole thing (and a can of tomatoes - blech). Refried beans were average, as was the Mexican rice... and the cheese dip too. Nothing special. Ken went with the Burrito al Carbon - strips of steak inside, cheese dip outside. He said he liked it, but he wouldn't get the dish again. The beef had little flavor. Service was a tad forgetful, but I may chalk that up to the crowd. The decor was a bit much, with bright color splashed on every surface that stood still long enough to get painted. Loud too.

We have tried this restaurant a few times and I must say I am done with going there. Every time we go the service is so slow, usually we sit there for at least 15 min until the waiter comes and greets us. Then it takes forever to order food. After food comes we don't get to see the waiter again until the waiter bring the bill. In a nutshell the service is bad, do not expect too much from the service. Also, the food is not the best and I have seen a gradual decrease in the quality of the food from last time I went. There are better mexican restaurants.

The food is cheap and very good! kid friendly place. the place is very CLEAN! the waitstaff here is VERY attentive and bend over backwards for you! you dont get the "i hate my job" vibe from the waitstaff in this place! They actually have pride in the Job they are doing. we have been here 6+ times and always A-1 service and food.....

I hate to say this since I love to find good and close Mexican food but was the WORST Mexican food I have ever had, the taco shells were like the ones I buy at Kroger the seasoning was bad, most of our food was cold. The waiter was really nice though so I still left a big tip but would never go back there even though I am at my daughters dance studio two days a week which is almost right next to it. Too bad, so sad. :(

This is a great restaurant with really good food. The staff and the atmosphere are really nice and the food is delicious. I recommend the lunch specials, which are so reasonably priced that I think they compete with Taco Bell! They lose a star for their service because many of their servers speak so little english that they can't understand the orders and often do the opposite of what you ask them. But I wouldn't let this discourage you from going there, I highly recommend them!

I love Mexican food! So much so that this was my second dinner in a row last weekend of Mexican food. Seriously, I can eat it every day! I love Mexican food so much my standards are barely high. I enjoy Taco Bell for crying out loud. That's why it's really painful for me to give this review. Now, I did finishing my plate because my best friend paid for my dinner., I can't be a douche bag like that. Okay, let's start with the positive. The place is pretty cute and looks very very clean. Total plus there. My waiter was a nice gentleman who always made sure that my drinks were refilled. The problem that I had was with this food. It wasn't inedible. However, it wasn't worth paying for. The salsa was just okay. . The chips were a little bit cardboard like tasting and unseasoned. I ordered one of the combo plates. It just didn't taste good. It tasted like a frozen dinner meal. Not those fancy dinner meals like Amy's kitchen or Kashi. Like one of those cheap ones. The kind where you go to the store and you're just like "three for five dollars. That's cheap and I can always use frozen dinners because I'm lazy as hell and single!" Then you totally eat it even though it's not that great, but you really hate wasting food and money so you just eat it... That's exactly how I felt with my dinner. The actual burritos were just kind of thrown together. The sauce that they used with the burritos tasted like something out of a can from a dollar store. The beans were okay. Everything just tasted really process and like it had been reheated. I absolutely hate writing such a horrible review but, I have to be honest. I don't think I'm going to be going back to this restaurant.

Holy guacamole! The interior is so brightly decorated I had to put my sunglasses back on. Reminds me of places in California, no a set from Miami Vice is more like it. But I'm here for the food and the menu has many interesting options and some new twists. I settled on the taco special, which was exceptionally good. The lightly crisped and tender tortillas were packed with a flavorful spiced beef mixture. Topped with shredded lettuce and tomatoes. Dessert was flan and it was very different from the norm. Described as Mexico City style. It arrived with a topping of whipped creme, chocolate spritzes and color sprinkles. Total yum! But the true star of this lunch was the margarita. This was by far the best margarita I have ever had. It was made with a light lime slightly carbonated base and a generous pour of Patron. Cielo verdadero! The staff was friendly and attentive. Return visit? Many!

Everytime I drove by this place it looks packed so I decided to look them up on yelp. Had mixed reviews but hey I'm a sucker for Mexican and a good margarita so we decided to give it a shot. When we arrived 8pm on a Saturday the parking lot was pretty full (good sign). Some reviews criticized the decor, personally I get tired of the same old drab and boring decor. I found the ambience authentic and refreshing compared to most places. My wife and I ordered the large margaritas($12) not knowing they'd be big as a fish tank. Very good but my bladder nearly exploded when I got home. Read complaints about the salsa, actually it was pretty good. The menu was very diverse with a variety of dishes to choose from. I settled on the chicken burrito and chicken enchilada dish. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla. Didn't take very long for our food to arrive. My dish was very colorful with lots of tomatoes, peppers, onions, guacamole, and sour cream covering my entree. I found it very good with much flavor. The chicken was well cooked and prepared. My wife's dish was also pretty good. The refried beans were good. Our waitress was very friendly and at tentative. She especially liked talking to my 3 year old. She gave him some mexican candy which was a gesture that really stood out to my wife and I. Needless to say I thought Los Tres Amigos passed the grade and I will be a frequent visitor. Can't wait for summer time to have one of those jumbo margarita outside on the patio.

Not worth a long wait. Food was ok and the authentic atmosphere was intriguing. I won't be rushing back. Food was rushed. Frozen margaritas were decent. Not the best food in the area. Service was prompt. This place was packed and people were all over the place. The salsa seemed fresh and was decently good. Had a combo and wasn't really thrilled with any of the items. If you have a standard go to, skip this place and head there.

Yuck! I would never give this place a second chance. The beans were runny, margarita tasted like a mix and the tacos are better at Taco Bell. Waste of money!

Not bad! The service was quick, and the food was insanely fast - I mean....we ordered burritos and enchiladas and less than 5 minutes passed before they came out. My burritos were good, although they were swimming in water or some other clear liquid, so the tortilla got a little soggy. Also the rice was very bland. But the actual burrito was good when it wasn't soaked, and the refried beans were awesome. Guac is also pretty awesome. They keep your chip basket filled too!! Would come back if I was in the area and craving decent Mexican, but there are definitely better places out there.

Don't listen to the haters. I don't even know why some of the 1 & 2 star reviews haven't been filtered yet. This place is great. Burritos al Carbon are my favorite. Word.

Went for dinner today and the place is very cute. But that's where it ends. The food was very bland, chips were stale, and the sauces on the enchiladas and burritos tasted like spaghetti sauce that they threw a few herbs in to make it seem more "mexican". Not going back EVER!!!

After reading other great reviews I had high hopes. Found it a bit disappointing. The only salsa offered with the chips is mild. Nothing spicier available. Was told to use bottled hot sauces on the table if I wanted hotter. For me, that's not the same as fresh made hot salsa. The food was good but nothing to write home about. Probably won't go back.

They are great!! Finally good Mexican around here. They hav awesome cheese dip and their chips are great. If your looking for a surprise try the chicken quesadilla...it is packed with chicken and very satisfying in taste and size. We were expecting a small thin tortilla with a little cheese and chicken, BUT it was the size of like maybe 4 regular (taco bell size) ones deep. And the flavor is great. So you have to give one a try I can't seem to get past um. My husband is obsessed with the beans and I have to agree with him. Give um a try you'll be back for more.

This was pretty good. Better than all the other mexican restaurants in the area. Chips and salsa are good, we split a combination platter and a margarita. Not sure why they are almost $7-$8 per drink when they are pre-made in a machine (at least I think so b/c it took no time to bring my husband a second margarita, like 1 min after ordering) but they were pretty good. Nothing amazing but if you want a decent mexican dinner go here, they will have a patio open when the weather warms up. You really have to go downtown if you want an authentic mexican meal.

Ordered carry out, loved the food, very good, fresh, chips are awesome! Ordered the chicken burrito amigos, soooo yummy, the guacomole is fresh and delicious! Will be back a lot!!

My first visit was on a busy Saturday night during the dinner rush, so I'm sure the experience was affected by the timing. That being said, we had a reservation for 7, and we were seated immediately. The table was far too small for 7 people, but we're close friends, so we made it work. The place was overly crowded, and there was no lobby area in case people had to wait for a table - very inconvenient. If you're looking for a quiet place to take a date for dinner, this probably isn't the best choice. This is a very family-friendly place with lots of kids. The waitstaff was excellent and was always available to help us with anything we needed. Now for the food. The chips and salsa was nothing special. The chips were just....chips. The only salsa available was pretty regular tasting mild salsa, with no hot salsa available. The various bottles of hot sauce at the table were the same stuff you could get at the store. The fact the I had to doctor up the mild salsa with hot sauce from a bottle was pretty lame. The menu itself looked like most other Mexican restaurants, with the usual assortment of tacos, burritos, chimichangas, and fajitas, but it did offer a lot of variety within those categories. I order one of the items theat stood out on the menu - the Molcajete. This was sort of a "salsa & chorizo" stew, with a slice of steak and a sliced chicken breast added to it, all served up in a hot, bubbling lava rock molcajete. The additional whole grilled green onions, whole jalapeno, and chunks of cojito cheese were a nice touch! This was a great dish with an impressive way of serving it up! If the rest of the menu is as good, then this place will score more points with me. I'll have to try it on a day when it's not as busy, because my biggest criticism of it was the crowdedness, and the fact that our table was too small for our group.

Returned for a 2nd visit, and still quite happy with this place. They do have Dos Equis on draft, and although I still didn't see Sangria, they have various flavors of Tequila and Mojitos now. They also have different sizes of Margaritas, although maybe not as strong as some other Mexican restaurants in the area (but 1/2 the price). Not sure if it was just the waitstaff that previous reviewers got or not, but my wife ordered ala carte tostadas with chicken instead of beef and no problems at all (or add on in price). I had the fajipina which was a unique take on fajitas in a grilled pineapple shell (which had at least a half-dozen shrimp) and was very filling. Rice/beans comes on a separate plate, so definitely more than 2-3 bites. There was also another entree I saw while there that was served in a deep bowl with some sort of yucca garnish or something, so they're definitely expanding the menu. If you're looking for this place to give Rojo- an upscale restaurant- a run for its money, you're mistaken. It's clearly in the running w/ Mexican Fiesta and where it may be slightly more expensive in the food category, it's not as pricey in the drinks department.

Got combos, which are sorely lacking in choices if you like tostadas. They were confused when asked about them, and they'll only give you one choice in tostadas: ground beef. Those free appetizer chips the waiter brought to the table? Totally burnt. Food portions are itsy bitsy on plate compared to Los Amigos in Westland with similar combo plates or the former El Fuego. There were about three bites of rice on there and two bites of beans for the sides--for $9???? Everything tasted totally bland, too. On top of that, when hot salsa was asked for, they brought some sort of dish with an unknown liquid, calling it "hot salsa" then charged $1 for it on the bill! The steak fajita was leathery and tough, with only three tiny tortillas that didn't even cover the amount of fajita stuff. When asked for more tortillas, they said, "That'll be a $1 upcharge." OK, so, basically you have to calculate an upcharge for everything. I guess if I wanted a tostada with some other meat, that would have been extra. After trying the new Rojo, which does have slightly higher price points, there is no way we'll go back. Had the steak fajita at Rojo's, and it was off the charts--no comparison in tenderness and flavor of meat. The value for the money simply isn't there with Tres, unfortunately, and certainly not the headaches of a rigid, very limited menu, with hidden upcharges lurking everywhere. Next, they'll charge extra for silverware, which, by the way, was totally awful too. My fork was worse than useless. The one star is for the decor, which is bright and over the top fun.

this was awful. I have never been rushed through a meal like this one was. We ordered drinks, came in less than 5 minutes. The margarita was almost undrinkable. It tasted like the whole thing came from a bottle of premixed drinks. The salsa was so bland it tasted like ketchup. The chimichanga had no taste. I could have been eating cardboard and the rice and beans tasted like they came from a can. We were out of there in less than 45 minutes. The waiter grabbed our plates just as we finished and handed us the bill 2 minutes later. Guess no time for dessert or coffee. I was glad to leave. Very bland food, not what i expect for mexican.

Great mexican food with a large menu and alcohol. Very busy, but they move you right along. We have eaten here twice and have been happy both times. We have had excellent service. Huge portions, we always have enough for dinner the next day. Also, kids eat for free on Sundays!!

Our family really enjoys Los Tres Amigos. The chips and salsa are yummy, the menu is extensive, and now that they have changed their strawberry margarita mix, I'm happy with those, too. The waitress we had was very friendly with our kids in a mom-and pop restaurant sort of way--and having 4 kids with us didn't phase them. Since they opened, the service has improved.

Love, love, love this restaurant! Service very friendly and attentive. Chips and salsa are excellent! The "steak soft tacos" with pico de gallo and special hot sauce on the side are AMAZING. I've had them three times now (once was as part of a very well executed large carry out order for the whole family). On Cinco de Mayo, we only had time for a quick beer, so we very much enjoyed the nachos and cheese appetizer at the bar (bartender was brand new I suppose, because she didn't know anything about tequila nor Mexican beers). Yesterday, a good friend and I had a lovely lunch on the patio. I will be back every chance I get!

Love love love this place. The BEST Mexican food in the area!!!! Have only been here a couple times but both times the food was phenomenal!!! If your looking for some good Mexican food I would recommend this place. From the Mocojetj (lava rock dish) all they way down to the casadia. Yummy

The chicken chimichingas are the best the cream cheese sauce is really great. The chicken inside has great flavor. Also love their loaded nachos as an appetizer. We finally found a great dish to order there and we love it. Still love their margaritas they taste really great. We are definitely hooked!

Came with my girlfriend and her son. When we received the chips & salsa her 3 year old son said "mom this looks like pizza sauce". He was right. My food was ok I ordered 3 enchiladas. I think this is more tex-Mex. not impressed. Don't think il be returning!

This is by far one of the best Mexican Restaurants in Canton. It is colorful and I love the fact that they play cultural Latino based music. It makes the environment authentic. Good food and drinks. The Margaritas are the best. The Wait Staff is great.

A favorite for a family meal. Kids love it, the staff is friendly. Also generous margaritas and Mojitos. Look for coupons in the mail and you can't go wrong with any menu item!

Pollo telluca - awesome! We love coming here as a family because it is so close to our house. Between the vibrant staff & colors of the building....it's a winner. The food is exactly what you'd expect. However this past trip I ordered the Pollo Teluca and was very surprised at how amazing this dish was.

  • Kelly K.

Went for dinner today and the place is very cute. But that's where it ends. The food was very bland, chips were stale, and the sauces on the enchiladas and burritos tasted like spaghetti sauce that they threw a few herbs in to make it seem more "mexican". Not going back EVER!!!

    (1)
  • Ken I.

  • Holly P.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate.
