I ordered Mongolian Beef, House Special Lo Mein, Crab Rangoon, and Sesame Chicken - all of these doesn't taste good. I don't know why this restaurant has a 4-star rating. The foods that I ordered are all dry. For their menu, you have to go online and check it out. There was no prices for the food. The only thing I liked about this restaurant was their customer service and location. It was my first time ordering in this place, and I'm not going to again!

Not the best but not the worst. Rice was a little mushy but the orange chicken was really good.

Best Chinese and Korean food in the area. Simple storefront restaurant run by the friendly owners. Great for takeout too. They will make foods hotter or milder if you ask. Try the Twice-cooked pork and the Crispy Mandarin beef--fabulous! We love Ning Ye!

Great service. Very friendly family owned business. Unfortunately the food seems like a watered down Americanized version of Asian food.... very bland.

When it comes to Chinese food, I'll admit I'm very hard to please. Maybe it's those three trips to China that spoiled us, or maybe it's my Chinese friend who was a cook in the Chinese army. I don't know, but it seems that I'm always disappointed when I go to most Chinese restaurants in Grand Rapids and have almost given up on Chinese restaurants in GR altogether. At best they never seem to be authentic and at worst they seem to coat everything in a sickly sweet gravy (this is quite ubiquitous no matter the restaurant--read, "buffet"--you go to). But I was HAPPILY SURPRISED at the level of authenticity Ning Ye has brought to their food. Their menu is quite varied and they will make anything to order. We described the dishes we love best (dried chili chicken, and twice cooked black bean sauce pork) and they make them both deliciously! My husband and I are ecstatic to find a good Chinese restaurant so close to home. (Note: we do love Wei Wei Palace as well--the only other Chinese restaurant we find authentic in G.R., but it's quite a drive for us) FINALLY! This is our new go to restaurant for Chinese--so exciting!

I like Ning Ye. It's convenient to drop by on my lunch break at work. The owners are always so friendly. The food is good and they always make it extra spicy for me. One of my fave Asian restaurants!

Great yummy food. The reason I can't stay away is the owners are probably the nicest people ever. They make you feel welcome and they are so appreciative. Definitely give this place a try.

I've always been satisfied with the quality of food and friendly, personalized service at Ning Ye. Beef Lao Mein is my favorite lunch entree. We refer Ning Ye to many colleagues visiting from Asia and more than one have commented positively on the authenticity.

The food is good and the customer service is beyond amazing! What more could you ask for :) better for take out than dine in. The chicken lomein and potstickers are our favorite. They also have good Chinese doughnuts!

I LOVED the owner!!! She was very, very sweet and grateful and just amazing. She kept thanking us for stopping and thanking us for thanking her. I had beef bulgogi. I love bulgogi. There was quite a bit! I had to take it home! It was delicious. The beef was tender. She was telling us her son was on the phone when we were cashing out and was telling us how every Saturday he tells her who is over and they cook for a bunch of teenage boys. Um, awesome. I'd eat like a teenage boy too every Saturday if they cooked for me. Good people and good food. She's been there 9 years and thins are made to order.

I had the General Chicken, Hot & Sour soup, and Crab Rangoon. Everything was great and full of flavor. The batter on the chicken was very good and different than most places . The soup was excellent and one of the best I've ever had. The Rangoon's were amazing and actually tasted like crab.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
