If you're in York DON"T MISS this place for breakfast or lunch. Excellent coffee (I'll report back on the brand, but it's not Green Mountain anymore...much smoother brews, plus a robust version called "Capone") and great pastries, but go for the sandwiches... Any sandwich (breakfast or lunch) is enough for 2 and very reasonably priced ($7-9). Food is flavorful, fresh and prepared with care by the owner, John. They offer 6 or so different scrambled egg wraps, and maybe 8-10 lunch sandwiches, from Rueben to Chicken Salad, but my favorites are the Turkey ones: The Pilgrim: roasted Turkey breast, sprouts, cucumber slices, cranberry-mayo on fresh multigrain and The Villager (Thanksgiving in a sandwich): roasted Turkey breast, warm, homemade stuffing, cranberry-mayo on fresh multigrain (rats, now I'm hungry!). The soups are homemade and are outstanding, too. Peek in the kitchen and say hi to John - you'll be impressed at how beautifully arranged and SPOTLESS it is in there. The place is warm and welcoming, and the staff tends to you attentively. Be aware - this is not a "fast food" restaurant - everything is made to order, so visit when you're not in a huge rush so you can enjoy your meal. Or, call ahead and they'll have it ready to go for you. They are in the small plaza with Mr. Mike's gas and convenience - come here instead for your sandwich and coffee!

A very cute and quiet cafe...we went out looking for a breakfast restaurant bit all popular places were packed so we took a chance on roast and crumb ...it doesn't offer a major amount of items but what they have is very good...so if your looking for quialty and taste you might want to give this place a try...it's run by a husband and wife.

Nice little place and very nice, friendly people working there. Regulars go in and out and the place has a great feel. The coffee was a bit bitter, I thought, and the cappuccino was not a cappuccino (this is starting to be a theme, right?). It was a latte or just a lot of milk with some coffee. The scone was good, not fabulous. I suspect the breakfast sandwich is good. I'd like to give a 3.5 because the people are so nice and you just like being there.

I liked Roast-N-Crumb. The staff are friendly, it's really laid back inside, and it's a good place to grab a cup of coffee and a bagel or a sandwich. New Yorkers may find the bagels to be less than authentic, but they're as good as it gets in the area and I liked mine very much.

I like this place a lot and have been going there maybe 2 or 3 times a month for about 10 years. The breakfast sandwiches are great, like home made. I can't eat another of those microwaved eggs that you get at so many other places! The staff is very friendly and low key but if there's someone infront of you wanting a specialty coffee it can take too too long, so it's easier just to pick up a quick cup of coffee, when I don't also want food, at other places. The soups are the absolute very best! I heard they get the scones frozen and they pop them into the oven. If so they're not made in house.

Roast-N-Crumb is a cute little cafe serving breakfast and lunch. They offer fresh baked goods, bagels, fresh brewed Green Mountain Coffee and espresso drinks, tea, breakfast sandwiches (served all day), signature sandwiches/melts (with chips & pickle), salads, and bottled drinks from the cooler. The prices here are slightly on the high side, sandwiches priced $4.50-$8.25. They also have a rack with day old baked goods, sold at a discount. I stopped in here on a typical weekday for a quick breakfast around 7AM sharp when the place opens up for business. The place is order at the counter with table seating in the cozy dining area. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back. I ordered the standard Breakfast Sandwich ($4.50) and a small coffee ($1.30) served in a ceramic mug. The breakfast sandwich was made to order in the back kitchen and delivered to my table. This sandwich was very good, which had a grilled egg with melted cheese and meat (juicy sausage patty) on toasted homemade multi-grain bread. The coffee was pretty good and brewed just right. A pretty decent and quick breakfast overall. (3.5 stars) NO CREDIT CARDS accepted.

A friend of mine and I go here often for take-out for lunch. Their homemade soups are amazing and the sandwiches I've tried (roast beef and chicken) were excellent. I highly recommend them for dine-in or take-out!

This place kills ALL the competition. The food is unbelievable. All the soups are made daily and the bread and bagels cooked fresh, while all the sandwiches are lovingly made to order. The quality within the food is ever present and the taste....oohhohohohoho my goooooodddddduh! Its unreal. The friendly staff and the owner John are just the type of people you'd like to know. They always remember my coffee order and my "usual". They are the best and so is the food. You cant go wrong. Its literally right off the highway. You wont be sorry if you drop in and eat. They also do catering which is stellar! Keep up the good work guys! You are the best in York County hands down!
