Such a gem tucked away in this little town!! I have been coming here for years and years and I love this place. Great vegetarian fare, but make sure to get there early - pastries etc. will run out by afternoon. Everything is made fresh, in house every morning. The homemade gelato is DIVINE!! They have various flavors including Nutella and cantaloupe, which is my personal favorite. Anyone in or around Bethel needs to check out cafe dicocoa.

Best coffee in the area! I love their Americanos and coconut cupcakes. It's a cozy little cafe with great outdoor seating right in downtown Bethel. There's usually a great selection of baked goods, healthy lunch items, local ingredients and vegan and vegetarian options. The staff are always super friendly and great to chat with. This is one of my favorite places to stop whenever I visit my family's home in the area. :)

Creative, outstanding vegetarian fare. Had the Greek panini and a quesadilla with a maple Dijon sauce that was awesome. Went back for iced lattes. No complaints at all.

We were in Bryant pond for the memorial weekend. Stopped here for coffee in the evening. We ordered around 8 coffees and some pastries for the kids. Enjoyed having coffee in the cup after a long time!!! Two ladies were working in the store and they are attentive!!!

Best bagels (everything bagel is a MUST), and best chocolate croissants. Get there early and they are still warm. Well made espresso drinks, great coffee, and wonderful friendly owner and staff. My only complaint is that they aren't open more hours.

The most tasty and whimsical eatery in the area. The best part are eclairs and dolmas made in their ethnic kitchen.

Food is definatly fresh and very delicious. We tried the croissant which was so buttery and flakey. We also both had everything bagels with plain cream cheese, they look a little odd since they are hand shaped but taste amazing. This place defiantly gives you the small town feel. You actually have to toast your own bagels which not a huge deal but I have never seen that in any bakery before, they might just be the oldest toasters you have seen. Definatly worth going here for breakfast though. Prices are not cheap but there still cheaper than starbucks!

Charming cafe, friendly quick service, excellent daily soups & sangie selections, interesting & delish items to choose from the confection case :-)

Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Services: 3.5/5 Prices: $$ (avg 12/person) We stumbled upon this fantastic cafe while driving around checking out what Bethel has to offer... We found it, its Cafe Di Cocoa! The owner literally brought out their fresh pastries from her house next door. Its a very bohemian/yuppie kinda place where you see mostly in Haight Ashbury in San Francisco or The Village in New York. The place operate as a market, cafe and bakery. They claimed to sell very limited international and local produces and they serve mainly vegeterian meal. But the best here is their homemade fresh pastries... We tried their apple-cranberry pie and the apple-frangipan, they were divine even though you only get a very tiny piece for whopping $2.75 but worth it! This is also a cafe where most local comes in and out for their coffee and bakery. We came back the next morning for our breakfast, skipping the provided very pathetic breakfast from our Norseman Inn. We had the omelette, cheese bun and the spinach taco, again, very tasty even without any meat but they were a bit pricey... however, its very light and just perfect for breakfast. Sitting inside the cafe looking at people coming in and out in a cool, crisp morning with autumn leaves falling in front of the cafe, what else do you ask for more... So, anyone visiting Bethel in the near future should stop by here for coffee & pastry anytime of the day, then reserve a table by the patio for dinner at Sudbury Inn just 3 doors away!

After reading the great reviews I was very disappointed. Staff was not particularly friendly, menu was extremely limited, portions tiny, and it was ridiculously expensive for what you got.

Coffeeshop, cafe & purveyor healthy foods run by very friendly staff (so much so that a cynical urbanite friend of mine was somewhat nonplussed by the sunny attitude of one of the owner/operators). Amazing, amazing scones and bagels made fresh every morning. You have to get them in the morning or early afternoon as they will often sell out - especially as people like me will get 4 or 5 of them to go for later consumption at home. My parents often request that we bring Di Cocca products back to Massachusetts when we make the drive home. Nice outdoor & indoor seating. Lack of wifi and electrical outlets means the laptop toting zombies (like myself) will congregate down the street at the Mouse & Bean cafe which frees up seats here for people interested in the coffee, prepared foods & baked goods. Homemade gelato in the summers & wonderful cider in the fall/winter.

Excellent chai lattes, iced coffees, and hot chocolate. The croissants are addictive. Greatly needed coffee shop in downtown Bethel.

Love this little bakery! This is a must if you are in Bethel! They always have fresh, home baked pastries (breads, muffins, croissants, scones, bagels) that are delightfully delicious. Then there is the coffee! I am addicted to the Iced Mocha and it is Organic! They also have homemade popsicles, ice cream and many other surprises. So definitely go check this place out. It is located at the bottom of Main Street. If you are an out of Towner spending time at Sunday River you must take the 10 minute drive to the town of Bethel!

If i could give it less than 1 star, i would. bought a croissant and coffee, spent a shocking amount and after a nibble and sip was happy to toss it.

Great homemade gelato with quality ingredients. Yummy homemade pastries. Selection of vegan, vegetarian and health foods too.

I worked at Bethel for a winter, and spent most of my mornings in cozy Cafe Di Cocoa. The pastry is to die for! Also, they have a cappuccino machine that makes a frothy piece of Heaven. Caty, the owner, often greets you at the door and lets you sample her latest creations. I also interacted with her son who was awesome. Cozy place crowded with locals and friendly owners + great pastry & coffee = CdC

Cocina Mexicana is attached to Cafe DiCocoa and has some of the best food we have tasted in ages. Grilled corn slathered with cilantro pesto is definitely worth the trip. Cute porch setting to gawk at all the comings and goings in Bethel.

Two of the best meals I've eaten were here (years apart). Excellent vegetarian food with friendly service. The sesame noodles were awesome.

Stopped in on a rainy morning. Excellent pastries (and I can be picky about baked goods- these were noteworthy), housemade chai (which I have a hard time finding!) and friendly staff. A great find.

This place was great! Came up to Bethel, ME for some away time from Boston. I had been here before but never in the winter so I wasn't looking for gelato then...but there it was. Beaming. Smiling. The bf and I went in, were met by a nice staff in a cozy cafe space. We got the raspberry rhubarb sorbet/gelato and the lemon mint gelato. I had been eyeing the hazelnut one as well but ended up going for the fresher more summery sorbet. We came back the next day in search of food for our hike. There's a "be nice to animals" sign (amongst many other signs about politeness and being nice) which was the first thing that tipped us off that this place is vegetarian. Not a problem since we didn't want bears on our heels (ah! Bears!). We opted for the tortellini salad, roasted spiced sweet potatoes and the mozz+tomato sandwich and a Greek sandwich featuring kalamata olives. Man! Those tomatoes were the juiciest tastiest tomatoes I've had in a long time! The sandwich combination was good overall and surprisingly substantial making for a nice lunch. To top it off grabbed a chocolate croissant and peach scone which were both excellent. Maybe it was the exhaustion talking, but I do know scones and it was good.
