Great place for weekend brunch! Clean. Good food, good service. Servers were friendly, and made us feel at home. You could tell some of the clientele were locals. We'll be back!

I ordered the chicken and waffles, which this being the Eastern Shore expectations were high. The waffles were frozen out of a box. I know this because they were obviously stamped out and in fact were cold. Not room temperature but cold. The chicken was a cut up chicken tender. Our server was friendly so she was the highlight. Otherwise there are far better options nearby. Skip this place.

I spent several months in Oxford the last two summers. Given the town has a population of around 640 people -- many of whom live elsewhere off season -- it seems to me that the restaurant is a tribute to the town. The owner has provided a range of menus and seating arrangements to meet the desire of any resident or visitor. Informal seating at the bar, and access to bar dinners ($8-$15), provide opportunities for everyone in town to meet or catch up. More formal settings with tablecloth and fireplace are available for those seeking an intimate night out. The menu provided at tables is available as half orders...again providing opportunity to meet everyone's desires, whether financial, diet or simply indecision. Menu changes every two weeks, always giving something new for residents to try (menu link: latitude38.org/menu.pdf ). The prime rib special on Wednesdays is always a winner, as is the seasonal green tomato appetizer. Yes, it is not directly on the water, but why would anyone docking not want to actually SEE this beautiful town through a short stroll down the road. The one drawback.... after trying several desserts I feel it is best head to Highland for ice cream.

This place ROCKS!! I wish I could remember the waitress' name, she made the experience unforgettable....and the food was fabulous, too! This is a MUST if you're in the area. I had a half portion of the seafood grits, more than enough..and the waitress was able to get the chef to make me a Parmesan broiled tomato that was out of this world. We will definitely go back next time we sail across the bay!

The ambiance was nice and cosy, very small-town, which we liked. The diners were mostly 55+ couples, a lot seemed like locals. We didn't see any families with kids. The service was slow (we waited 10+ minutes before someone took our drink order) and pretty inattentive, but when she did show up our server was very sweet and helpful. We were there on a Friday night, and it was quite crowded, but we weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't a huge issue. They have a full bar. On their drink menu, there were beer and wine selections, but the only house cocktails were 5 or so Specialty Martinis (chocolate, banana, etc.--all sweet). We ordered an old-fashioned and a gin martini, and both agreed they were pretty god-awful. Their lobster bisque was rich and meaty, if salty. The duck confit salad was creative and very tasty, but also salty, and with what seemed like bagged mixed greens. The $32 crabcake entree was bland--I've had better, meatier, more flavorful crabcakes in Baltimore, and the accompanying corn pudding and wild rice were extremely bland. Overall, the dinner was alright, but definitely could have used some bold flavor besides salty. Didn't feel like the food stood up to the prices.

As a local, this one of my favorite places to dine out whether entertaining out of town guests in the dining room or sitting at the bar with friends and fellow townsfolk for a bar dinner or brunch and usually a lot of laughs. This is a place where you can feel at home no matter your tastes. The bar offers lighter and less expensive fare including a daily bar dinner and weekly burger that are reasonably priced. The dining room offers full dinners that can also be ordered as half entrees if pocketbook, appetite or diet dictate. The menu changes regularly but the staff does not. Many have been there for years making the place feel like home to those of us who frequent the it year after year. Sometimes it can get a little loud on the bar side of the restaurant as voices raise on a Saturday night but really you can have it either way. For the company, sit on the bar side; for a more intimate experience sit in the dining room. If you really want to know what's going on in Oxford and the area, join the conversations at the bar. You cannot help but make friends. The food is generally very good though as with any restaurant some nights have been better than others. Overall though, for a pleasant atmosphere, good company, and a good and varied menu at fair prices you cannot do much better than Latitude 38. But if you are in town in the warmer months of the year be sure to save room for ice cream at the Scottish Highland Creamery.

This was my second trip to Lat 38. The food was as bad as 1st trip a few yrs back. Agree w/others poorly trained servers that are poorly dressed. Dining room lighting like operation room bring your sunglasses. Price is not a factor, this place needs hells kitchen to come and transform this landmark spot back to a fun place w/ good food. Ie spruce up dull exterior. New lighting, train staff with & new uniforms, pare down menu to more great pub style food /. W local flair. seafood & burgers best in MD.

Disappointing. Started by splitting the seafood caesar between 3 of us (it's very expensive). The crabmeat smelled off. The greens were just ok. We all ordered half entrees. Friend had scallops (4 instead of 7 in full entree) with mushrooms. Gf had pesto chicken - dry. I had the grilled mahi and shrimp which were almost good, but overcooked.

What a great find! The only 3 restaurants on Yelp at the time in this little lovely town were out of our price x decibel range. This was right in it. A nice sit down spot, great ambiance, really great art (like, do I normally care about art, in a restaurant??), great music, great staff, kid-friendly, and oh yeah, the food was great too. They have a nice big bar you could eat at and sample their many libations. I'm concerned it's not within walking distance of the water to cater to sailors who dock here; but it's worth trek, and they seem to be doing well. It's rare to find a western style restaurant (ie, not Asian) where they don't overcook or over sauce the seafood. Our faves: fried green tomatoes with jumbo lump crab and a red onion relish pan seared flounder grilled swordfish was great too Even the side salads, served with the entree, were quite generous. My partner and I split an appetizer and a main dish and that was plenty (we'd noshed a bit o' crab and ice cream not really that long prior...) Definitely worth visiting here again.

Stopped by for an early dinner...had the tomato-blue cheese soup and a half portion of the orange roughy fish dish...both dishes were amazing...have eaten here a dozen times since i moved here in march and have never been disappointed

This place caters to the locals. Servers and bartender are poorly trained and could care less about service, much less know about place setting for silverware. The food quality is average - we can cook better. Sure, you may pay 10-15% more at Pope's or Morris' but the staff at these restaurants are both are first class and know the meaning of customer service, plus the food is excellent.

Great food. Considering some of the other overpriced fare in this resort town (e.g., Pope's Tavern), this place is solid.
