Average-looking place, but my family has been coming here for years. Never dined in, however. Cashew chicken is some of the best I've ever had. Their Veggie Egg rolls are also very good.

It use to be ok food but lately it's gotten bad. What I mean is gummy spring rolls, blacken orange chicken, the Kung pow is not like it use to be just not going back.

Terrible food. The best think about my Kung Pao chicken was the piece of fried chicken on top. I'm not sure what part of China uses fried chicken as a garnish. The fried rice was overly infused with soy sauce and the whole dish was super salty. The egg roll was gummy and tasted so bad I couldn't finish it. The meal was bad enough that I won't be back.

Only 1 visit but I would definitely come back. The spicy chicken dumplings were delicious. Sweet, sour, very, very flavorful. Chicken with cashew nuts was also excellent. Sauce was very flavorful and the chicken had a light, almost crispy texture but not overdone.

I've been a customer here for 15 years or so. The food is always good but the atmosphere is a little depressing becuse no one is ever there except for take out. Avoid Dine in, try the orange chicken.

We ordered carry out from there last night and the Shrimp and Cashews was absolutely disgusting... wet, mushy, no flavor heap of gross! My wife's Moo Shoo Pork was OK and the dumplings were as well, but the Sweet & Sour Chicken was lacking flavor, too. This place came recommended by a friend and is very close to our home, but I will never get food from there again!

The lady who took my order was very kind. I very clearly told her what I wanted, including very clearly telling her which number. I'm vegan and wanted the non chicken hunan style meal from the vegetarian section. What I received was beef. As this was a carryout at the end of the night, I packed my food back into the container to return it. They were closed. I'm sure this was a misunderstanding, but I'm not at all pleased with the service I received tonight. --Update: I was completely wrong. It turns out this places uses a very special mock meat from Japan that is so meat-like I was completely fooled. Especially ordering it hunan style. It tasted so much like beef, including different sized pieces, and a grainy appearance to tore apart just like meat that my ignorance should be excused. That said, I went in to get my money back. I was definitely insistent on this point and that what I'd eaten was beef. I had to be shown the raw mock meat, mostly out of curiosity, to be swayed. The owner of the establishment, the woman from last night's husband I must assume, became quite irate with me. He chastized me as "not knowing how to eat vegetarian." And, "you need to be educated." I felt that his attitude was not necessary. I was not angry, nor rude. I was insistent and clearly unaware of the very fine product they use as a mock meat. All in all this experience has me wishing it had gone very differently. I would like to eat this kind of mock meat, but now do not have a good impression of the restaurant's owner. I don't feel secure going back there. He informed me that I needed to remain up at the very front of the store, telling me "this is the dining room, you need to be up at the front," after I stepped into the dining room as he walked back holding containers of the mock meat. I think his anger is understandable, but certainly should not have been directed at me. He should have been understanding that his mock meat is not commonly supplied at restaurants.

Hunan Best is far from the best when it comes to customer service. Just because you're foreign doesn't give an excuse to be completely indifferent and plain rude, especially to customers.. with the money! I ordered on the telephone and listed what I wanted, then she very swiftly (I mean VERY) said "it will be ready in 15 minutes thank you" and hung up on me mid sentence. Now I'm Korean and know how very important respect is and I am sure it's the same with the Chinese. Now about the food, I do love it! I usually get their beef lo-mein and beef and broccoli. It's always great and they are pretty generous I suppose. The other foods I've tried have been nice as well, no complaints in that department. I sure hope the owners or staff read their yelp, because it would definitely improve their restaurant. 3 stars for the food, would have given 5 if customer service was improved.

I haven't been to this place in 8 years since I lived out that way and it hasn't seemed to change inside. That being said, the food is decent and plentiful (all of us have enough for a second meal now) and there were three in our party and one gentleman at another table. That was it, on a Friday night. Light classical music in the background, easy to hear others. Two of us had beef with broccoli and I had Kung Pao chicken. The beef with broccoli contained a TON of nice fresh broccoli that was extremely fresh and crunchy. My dish had just the right amount of "kick" to it with a lot of peanuts and peppers. They had a decent amount of take out business going on so they must be doing something right. Check out the take-out menu which is more extensive than the dining room menu but I'm sure you can ask for anything on that too when eating in.

The receptionist is Rude and unpleasant. The food is plain and lacks flavor. There lack of customer service is reflected in there lack of culinary skill. The food is down right mediocre, would not recommend this place to any body I care about

One of the best places to get Hunan Chicken where they use juicy dark chicken meat. Another plus is the Hot-n-Sour soup, just enough spiciness to give the mouth a little sweat. I have been coming here for several years and have never been done wrong. The decor is a little outdated and the seating is a small but very cozy. Can accommodate small parties of 10-15 people but there is no private seating areas. Carry-out is the way to go.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
