The food is good, but that's the only positive thing about this place. The service is horrible, the employees and the manager don't care if they give good service or get complaints. I've been there and they refused to honor a special that was advertised on their marquee sign, I've also been grossly over-charged. They have no remorse for their poor treatment of customers. I hate going in to the dining room because it looks dirty, but that's usually where I have to go when they're trying to screw me over at the drive-thru. Avoid this place!

Now now now, this place isn't as hellish as people make it out to be. Chicken and mashed potatoes speak for themselves and meet Popeye's standards. The inside of the restaurant is a bit dated and worn appearing but if this place were called "Grampa Pimplebutt's Chicken and Potato Hut" then it would be considered charming and homey. What you want? French Laundry?? That said, the ceiling is a bit low except to a hobbit and I don't think I'd use the bathroom unless on a bet (a losing one...) but I confess I have never been in there so who knows? Maybe it's Shangri-La in there. The employees here not the most bubbly, probably from the grease fumes, but they do their job. The manager (I think she's the manager) is always energetic, attentive, and warm in her demeanor. She seems to enjoy her job so that makes this a good Popeye's even better. It's not 3 Michelin stars but it's 4 Yelp stars! And isn't more, better?? When it comes to Popeye's chicken pieces, hell yeah!!

Went twice to the same location, what a mistake. First attempt was around 1pm on a Saturday where we were informed that they didn't have any chicken. "What so you think this is KFC?!". Mistakenly went back a second time, attempted to order two meals, easy order around 7pm,in a Monday night. No white meat. No cole slaw. No lemonade. Seriously?! Get it together you're a fast food joint which specializes in chicken in which two out of two times you have been out of. Worst Popeyes ever...

went here about a year ago...this my only 2nd popeye's visit and my 1st one was when I lived in Orlando. Anyway, this place is dirty, the service is slow, and it's dirty. Don't eat here.

Stopped eating here a couple of years ago because it is a dump ... not well maintained, everything you touch feels greasy, outside sign was not up for the longest time, seemed like it was going out of business. Since I really like the Popeyes' along York Rd inside the beltway, I decided to give this one another try. Bad idea. It's still a dump, the employees move like they died a month ago and the food is prepared way ahead of time. I also suspect they keep the fryer temperature lower than it should be to make the oil last longer because the chicken comes out very dry and the onion rings are very doughy, not crisp at all. UPDATE New management. I'll actually eat at this store again.

At this moment in time, they are running a special on butterflied shrimp, which is excellent. I love the taste and the flavor of these fried shrimp in their signature spice recipe. I also love their spicy and original fried chicken. I'd eat if more often if I could. One the days I do hit this place up I have never had a bad experience. This location was renovated a few months back and looks nice and new. If you love fried chicken that is crispy and flavorful, check this place out. If they are having their shrimp special, give that a try too because it is awesome! Thanks for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal opinion and experience.

As a self-styled "epicure" it hurts me to sing the praises of chain fast food but what can I say. Popeyes. Sure it's bad for you. Don't even look at the fat and carb counts but ohhhh so good! This is the fried chicken that chickens get when they go out (Eeewww, I know that's gross). The spicy is just the right amount of hot and just so crispy and delicious. The beans and rice, cole slaw and fries are also winners. Don't expect great service or linen tablecloths but they have what you need, so go ahead, you know you want it!

Recently this location was remodeled and is under new management. The way this spot runs is like night to day, quicker service. Seating area is a lot more clean and the staff don't seem like they totally want to die. Drive through seems slow, but it's a fried chicken place-I have never seen a fast drive through for a fried chicken place. If you like southern seasoned fried chicken, come by for a meal. Eat a biscuit while you're at it.

Finally! New management! Chicken is now, juicy, crisp and it's actually the color it's suppose to be. No more greasy slow workers. It's a new manager and a new team of workers, who are friendly and competent ! Thanks corporate

Service was beyond bad! Extremely slow, and badly trained employees. The food was fine. Taste like most other Popeyes. This place really just needs to be managed better. And seriously, train your employees. BTW, I believe there is a bullet hole in the window right by the fountain sodas :( Yikes!

(11/16/2013) Someone showed up with a bucket for the potluck. Seasoning was as expected (black pepper, salt, little else), meat was not overdone, coating is thin and floury, not the battered kind, skin was rubbery, even for cold fried chicken. Met expectations.

Since they have hired mostly all Spanish people and got rid of all the city trash it is a lot better food is great and u won't be greeted with an attitude like you owe somebody something

I went to this franchise on August 16, 2009 and the service was worse than rude--first, the employee told me he did not have any biscuits ready but to pull into a parking spot straight ahead. I did, waited 20 minutes, went back in to get my order. The bag was sitting there on the counter and the two employees working laughed and grinned to each other. I looked around and it was obvious there was no manager.
