I love New China! My parents like to call it "mediocre Chinese" but I lived in LA for a year and had much worse at multiple different locations. For this being the only Chinese place in the area, it's pretty darn good. I always get the sweet & sour chicken, egg drop soup, and when I'm feeling like really pigging out, their fried bread (fried bread with sugar, who could ask for anything more?!) Their egg drop soup is the best, I won't get it anywhere else. After getting so much testy Chinese in LA, I only trust New China. "Mediocre" is just fine to me!

I haven't been back to this location in months since feeling really sick the last time I ate the food. It's the only Chinese option in Brunswick. Every time I ordered it was fast and they're one of the cheapest options in town. That's the only reason I'll give them the two stars. Other than that walk in there one day. I'm pretty sure they haven't cleaned the interior in awhile which makes you wonder the condition of the kitchen. The food is in the lower tier for Chinese(fry the meat and mix with a prepackaged sauce). One of my biggest gripes with this place is they are always low on spring rolls or egg rolls. I've been told multiple times that they only have like 3 left. Another problem is it's a $10 minimum to use a card. If you want my advice goto Roy's at least it's clean there.

Well I can't say much about the food. I'm actually a little confused if this really is a restaurant or maybe it's an attempt by the Chinese government to establish sovereignty in Brunswick. I went there today to order 6 egg rolls for the family and the lady told us we couldn't have it, that I ordered too many. I could only have three. I was confused but was fine with telling half of my family they would go without so when I handed her my card to pay she then said I had to order more to use a card?? After that I just left. Don't think I'll be back to try the food if I couldn't even order it.

Typical Chinese, nothing to right home about, but they're reasonably priced and the only Chinese place in town.

The place is kind of a whole in the wall in a shopping center. You barely know it's there save for the tiny sign on the shopping center sign, and if you happen to gaze down the breezeway you might notice it. We met a friend there, and went right to her table. We were followed by the hostess and given menus. She asked what we wanted to drink and left, returning momentarily with our unsweetened iced tea. The tea was barely tea... it may have passed for brown water that was near a tea bag, but not much else. Adding sweetener didn't help it any. A much younger girl took our order, who spoke very good English. My wife ordered Orange Chicken, I ordered Chicken Fried Rice, and our friend ordered Crab Rangoon. Each of our meals were delivered separately, about 3-5 minutes apart. It's customary to deliver everyone's food at the same time. So, we waited until all were delivered, my wife's being last. The food was tasty, but it needs to be said that the CHICKEN friend rice had very little chicken in it. And not chunks, but small shreds. There was maybe a 1/4 cup of chicken in about two cups of rice. The worst of the visit was the hostess and her phone. It kept ringing, and at one point she just left it sitting on the front counter, and it rang. Good lord, at least turn the volume down! Then, she made (or took) a call and in her shrillest voice she kept yelling at whomever was on the other end of the phone. I shushed her at one point, and she went outside, only to return a moment later doing the same thing. She went to the back, came back out and kept talking. She came to our table, ON THE PHONE, to see if we needed boxes. She returned with the boxes, STILL ON THE PHONE, and we boxed up our leftovers. We continued chatting for awhile, and she finally got off the phone. While we were still talking, she put a hand-written note on the mirror of the entryway that said "No seating today, carry out only" But that's probably just a personnel issue. We got up to leave and pay, and I had to wait at the counter for awhile. The food wasn't good enough to compensate for the very poor service. Service is king for me... and this was more like a stable boy than a king.

Not worth your time. I wish I could give a awesome review; I absolutely love Chinese food, but this isn't the place to stop at, unfortunately.

Fast and friendly service. Ordered from this place a few times and it's pretty good. Much better then these reviews seem here. Awesome Singapore noodles and the shrimp egg rolls are delicious! I will definitely continue to order/pick up from here. It's the only Chinese restaurant in town and I'm glad it's at least a good one. I've been to many Chinese restaurants who have been pretty bad and average. I honestly think the food here is above average. Maybe I'm just lucky and haven't ordered/had a bad meal. Sure it's not presidential like the 7 Corners (Falls Church) one in VA called Peking Gourmet where celebrities and even presidents go, but honestly it's pretty damn good for what it is. I'd recommend.

The food was good. The service was fast and friendly. The price was reasonable. Only downside was that the parking was a little crowded. My wife and I enjoyed eating here and plan to return.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
