I was a littlee apprehensive after reading the reviews. our server Maleka was amazing. friendly help and attentive. T he crave burger was amazing, well seasoned and coked just right. Garlic lemon wings (I am a buffalo wing person) were amazing per other reviews. my daughter had the Mahi Mahii which she really liked. will definitely go back. Eat here and stay away from Naples restaurant

We ate here around 2 in the afternoon on a Thursday so there were very few people around even though the mall itself was packed. The service was fast and very friendly but the food was meh for the prices they charge. The fish tacos were extremely disappointing and flavorless. The fish itself was battered and fried and there was one small piece in each small soft tortilla. The rice served with it was unusually salty. The penne pasta dish with sausage and chicken was very good and was enough to share for two kids (which made the meal a little more affordable). Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

Bison burger was one of the best I had. Scallop poppers are also always a great starter. Kid's meals are a little small so if the little ones are hungry be prepared to come up a little short on the size of the kids pizza. The sushi bar is also excellent. The chefs are willing to learn your name and what you like. The sushi boats are a good choice for variety.

Crave brings together the best if some of my favorite cuisines. French duck is on a menu next to sushi and free range burgers topped with foie gras. While making a selection was made even more difficult by the variety of options, the food was wonderful. I was a big fan of the portions - don't expect leftovers, but you won't leave hungry either. I had the beet salad, sushi, and the half portion chocolate mousse dessert. Not what I would expect from a restaurant in a mall. Oh, and the cocktail menu is as eclectic and exciting as the food, although expect to pay for it.

Very interesting restaurant - certainly for a Mall. Located inside Montgomery Mall, Crave offers incredibly exotic fare (sushi, nigiri) alongside American favorites. The Saturday dinner scene is crowded to say the least. Noise levels gained steadily from 6-8:30PM. You'll get an assortment of hungry mall shoppers, large celebratory parties and bar denizens to populate the restaurant. Pros: Varied menu featuring combos such as Salmon salad with Israeli couscous and pomegranate. That was a great combo and the fish was finished to perfection even though the chef recommended a more well done presentation. Cons: Prices. Entrees averaged more than $20. Servers still finding their footing. Not quite sure of the menu - didn't have recommendations at the ready. We had a celebration in the party - and alongside regular desserts being 15 minutes to arrive (they are pre-made, I'm told) they forgot the two birthdays in the party. So, give Crave a try - since they should get the newish kinks worked out - but don't accept mediocrity - certainly not at the prices they charge.

I'm not sure where to begin. I have had many friends try this restaurant and have heard very mixed reviews. Mostly not great but it is close to home and work so I thought I would give it a try. Walked in for a late lunch and was greeted by the manager. The restaurant was about 1/3 full if not less. Waiters was standing around and she stated to us there would be a wait for a table. We just looked at her dumbfounded. I said really?? She just looked back with a snit and said yes. I said we would go next door to Cheesecake. Thank you for saving us the agony of finding out if it was good or bad. Just didn't feel welcome. Good luck.

Unless you CRAVE bad food and mediocre service, stay away. To be fair, we have been to CRAVE twice, the first time after it opened and the second time just last night. Both times my wife and I were very disappointed. Food is way over priced, and portions are meager. Everything costs additional, including veg and bread (when you're paying $30 for an entree, a little bread would be nice?). Food is way over seasoned, and my fish was served over cooked, burned in some spots and missing ingredients described on menu. Music near the bar is way too loud and not appropriate for dinner. To their credit, management comped meals both times and acknowledged they were still "working out the kinks" but I'd stay away for now.

This place was pitiful. Great server but calamari was soggy, mahi was dry as wood, burger bun was also dry. Add to that the foods not hot and the s'mores dessert was stone cold and sucked!!to think I gave up Chef Geoffs for this!!

Came with a friend on a week day. Big place and lots of waiters roaming about. However, we could only have our a pick of outside eating in the mall area or high tops. We took the high top. The food was mediocre. We both had the same chopped chicken salad and it was disappointing. How hard is it to mess up salad? They were small and had barely any of the advertised ingredients: chicken, bacon, avocado, cheese. And you have to pay for the bread basket. That's pretty cheap if you ask me. We politely told the waiter and the manager on duty. Both listened to our constructive criticism and then gave us the bill!! No sorry. No please come back. No here's a coupon to use in the future. Nothing. We paid and will not be going back any time soon.

2nd visit, yesterday. the lemon garlic wings are a must. i also had the pork belly buns. they were decent. my fav dish is the simply grilled steak. it was awesome. the lobster fettuccini was extremely buttery. the angry dragon is a delicious drink....reminds me of a lychee martini. overall, the restaurant is a cool place to try; not a regular dining place i would go to frequently. it is pretty over-priced. i couldn't imagine this being a regular to-go-to dining restaurant. for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, & 1 cocktail...the bill came out to $73. I'm just saying.... ps. sushi is average. had the volcano roll the first time.

It's a question of individual taste, of course, but based on a single visit Crave seems to me to be easily the best dining ( and drinking) experience available at Montgomery Mall, superior to Met Bethesta or the Cheesecake Factory or any of the many places in the Food Court. I had an outstanding chicken/apple/Brie sandwich on tandoori bread, a warm salad instead of French fries and an excellent red ale from Delaware. The service at the lunch hour was very attentive and the place wasn't over-crowded. I've been back a couple of times and see no reason to revise my opinion. However, if you try the place, you need to know that the concept is unique (and a trifle peculiar), combining modern American cuisine like the sandwich I mentioned, standard American (hamburgers, etc.), and a full sushi menu.

BEWARE GLUTEN ALLERGY FRIENDS! I went there on Valentines day with my son and was given the gluten free lunch menu. I was going to order the grass fed burger with french fries but luckily asked the waitress to make sure the fries had a dedicated gluten free fryer. She came back to tell me in fact the chef said they did not have a dedicated fryer and they would be contaminated. I ended up ordering the Sushi which was good but very expensive and not worth the extra cost. I asked to speak with a manager about the gluten free issue. I explained to the manager they should be careful not to have a gluten free menu with items that are not actually gluten free. I then explained that using the same fryer for breaded items and gluten free items was dangerous for many people. The manager assured me that the fryer was in fact gluten free and dedicated. The next night I came back with my wife because I was curious as to what the real answer was. I asked a different waiter to talk to the chef about the fries. The chef also told him the fryer was indeed shared and used to cook breaded chicken and other items. I would not normally leave a bad review but this is very dangerous and the managers in particular should know better especially when I asked such a straight forward question about the fryer and told her that I would become very ill if she was indeed wrong. I also found her to be rude and quick with me as if I was asking an offending question. When I ordered the sushi I asked for gluten free soy sauce - one assistant manager told me they did not have any but my waitress brought me some guaranteeing it was gluten free.... There is no possible way that I would risk eating in this restaurant again. I will add that the wait staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to try and help me.

In the 4 or 5 years or so I have been on yelp I have given a grand total of 6 reviews: all of them good reviews in what my opinion are some of the best places and restaurants. I hardly ever use yelp but I felt compelled to give this place a bad review. The appetizer took about 30 minutes to arrive for a simple sushi roll and it was not crowded in the restaurant at all. Because of this, we were at the place for nearly 2 hours. The entree took just as long to come out as the appetizer did. I ordered the chicken stir fry- $20. The chicken stir fry tasted like something you make from the microwaveable meals that you get from the Asian section of the grocery store- Annie Chung's or Thai kitchen make about the same quality Asian food as this. The portions are decently sized but I expected a lot more for the price I was paying. In fact, you could probably get a lot more out of one of those Thai kitchen boxes. The prices are WAY too high for what it is and the food is just so-so. To their favor, I will say the appetizer we ordered: the scallop roll or whatever it was called with the dynamite sauce and salmon was very good and for that I give this place 2 stars. However, it costs $11 for 3 pieces. The service wasn't bad either aside from the fact that the food came out painfully slowly and believe me, when you're hungry, it is painful. The server had also been trying to up sell us and was trying really hard to get us to join their loyalty club. No thanks. Save your money and go next door to Cheesecake Factory. I promise you you will be making a wiser decision.

Great food, but VERY disappointed!! We have been to Crave twice. We decided to come check it out the first Saturday it opened since we were thinking of hosting our daughter's birthday dinner there. The food was very good (except the Juniper mayo on our sliders). So, we decided to come back for our daughter's birthday dinner the following Saturday. Again, the food was great. However, I do NOT recommend hosting a special event here. We had reserved the chef's table a week ahead of time for the birthday celebration. My husband even called at lunch time to confirm our dinner reservation for that specific table. We arrived on time to find they had given the table away!! It is the only table of its kind with a chandelier and a curtain around the booth/table area. The manager gave us a few free appetizers, but honestly we were SO disappointed. 3 free appetizers does not begin to make up for that kind of an issue!! When planning the dinner, we thought of going to Clyde's instead, but chose Crave specifically because of the chef's table. So when they gave away our table, we were not happy!! We made the best of it, but we feel it is very unprofessional. If you don't accept reservations, say so. If you can't guarantee a specific table, make that clear. We never did get a straight answer as to why they gave our table away. I really wanted to find a nice spot near home that we could count on. Unfortunately, the staff is very disappointing. They had several opportunities to let us know if they could not accommodate our reservation. They seemed to know who we were when we arrived, which leads me to think they do not get very many reservations! Why in the world would you mess up a reservation made WELL in advance?

Today was my 2nd visit to Crave. I was introduced to it by my daughter and daughter-in-law last week. They both ordered large luncheon salads and were quite pleased with them. I had the Norwegian Salmon with chived mashed potatoes and found everything perfectly prepared. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant, although busy, was quiet enough for serious conversation. Today I returned with my husband, using the back entrance from the parking lot. Finding the hostess desk is tricky..never actually did but was intercepted by D'angelo who recognized and remembered me from my first visit a week ago. Husband ordered the Turkey Burger which came topped with Swiss cheese, tomato slices, onion rings (raw) and a big dollop of quacamole. It stood easily 6 inches high, so he quickly deconstructed it and ate all the parts with much enjoyment. I ordered the Chicken stir-fry which I nearly finished . It was very flavorful but I missed having any peanuts in it, though they were noted on the menu. Carrots were too crunchy for me but broccoli was fine. The prices are indeed a big high for lunch. But service is attentive and the place is lovely...modern but with comfortably cozy booths. Looking forward to working my way through the menu on future visits.

I almost didn't come here because so many of the reviews on yelp rated this restaurant as poor or mediocre. But I came for a weekday lunch and had an excellent experience. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Our food came quickly and was delicious. I had the sushi lunch special and my friend had the kogi beef tacos. The portion was generous for lunch -- I cleaned my plate but was certainly sated. I would definitely come back.

Customer service was bad. We were the 1st party to sit down upon opening. Waited over 30mins for our breakfast plates. Also the part who sat down 20 mins after we did received their food first. the manager tried to justify it because it was a kids meal. I had to explain to her regardless the fact of who's food it was for, we sat first and ordered first and received our food later than the other parties who sat down after we did. Upon receiving our food the plates were like warm and the scrambled eggs were cold . The manager tried to apologize and offer them to be remade but we were not trying to wait another 30-40mins for breakfast plates . They need to work on punctuality and customer service. Our server was rude, the manager said she would come back to speak to us and never did . D+

This place has the atmosphere, chic look, right location but the worse food! It reminds me of Dave and Buster's food only with a different label on it. We had the garlic wings, all you taste was the garlic and it was overcooked and dry. Awful, we had pork sliders with Korean Bulgogi slaw and sauce, all you taste is the Korean bulgogi sauce with a small piece of dry pork on a nice potatoe bun. Terrible. We had flatbread applewood chicken sausage pizza in which the sausage was sliced so thick you needed to cut them before biting into it. The crust was too thin and crunchy (over cooked broke when you touched the ends) to support the sausage, and the caramelized onions and sauce was not appetizing at all. We had the sushi and that was fine. Other than that, Vaugh the bartender was great! But the food was the pits, go see Vaugh, the bartender, he will hook you up! Stay away from the food or be practical in what you get, no expectations.

I was very disappointed with the happy hour menu and food selection. I personally disliked the lemon garlic wings. They were nowhere up to par with my wing standards, especially after having had BWW lemon pepper wings. But, if rare cooked, thick, blandly seasoned wings are around your alley, then by no means, you'll love them; however, I hated them. They were gross. I ended up exchanging them for the chicken sliders and was still heavily disappointed. The happy hour drink menu is also really limited. I tried their rum punch and also highly disliked it. My mother also wasn't too fond of her crab cake meal. It was overburdened by other ingredients that took away from the taste. Overall, from the experience I received upon my first visit, I will not be returning because I have made the conclusion that their food is awful. I think this restaurant has some major competition being located aside Cheesecake, and I do not think they'll withstand. I do not recommend this place!

CRAVE Far from being just a flash in the pan, fly by night establishment this new restaurant has been dishing out sushi and other new aged American and Japanese food for about three months here in Maryland. The host are very friendly, attentive, and have gotten my family and I seated very quickly even without a reservation. The sushi coupled with other traditional and non-traditional Japanese and American food has been wonderful. If you are indecisive or unfamiliar with the various styles of new aged American and Japanese cuisine, then let the servers call the shots and make a sugestion for you, the severs have not steered us wrong thus far and they too have been very attentive. The manager (Michelle) even came bye to greet us and remembered that we had been there before which has wowed us each time we came here. I mixed and matched my own concoctions of sushi, sashimi, tempura and other delectable delights from the full-service kitchen and bar. The decor is beautifully designed and besides thinking that we came through the back door it seemed well thought out. This restaurant should easily become a mainstay here in Bethesda, it's simple yet diverse; new aged and fresh; for even the seasoned palates that my family and I have. With all the new restaurants added to Montgomery mall we (speaking for my family and myself) can truly say that Crave is here to stay! Keep up the great work!

Crave has just opened in the Montgomery Mall. The space is enormous and nicely decorated. On a week night, there was absolutely no trouble getting a table. The service was excellent. However there is a bit of an odd dynamic - it's a mall restaurant with a casual ambiance and menu and relatively loud music playing - but then prior to ordering sushi the whole table was presented with hot, lemon scented towels to wash our hands - while the basketball games were on throughout the restaurant. The menu is a mix of traditional American fare (salads, burgers, pasta) and then a variety of sushi. The salad and sushi were both good, and I would recommend them again. The burger was fine but nothing unique. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would return if in the area again.

Great menu. Tuna TarTar was so fresh. The fish entree was a little over seasoned. My favorite part of the visit was our service. We had Angelica and she was fantastic...fast, knowledgeable, and so friendly. I'll ask for her when I return.

the restaurant is located inside the mall nut once you go inside the ambiance is very nice. we were greeted nicely by the usher and seated immediately. the server came and asked us if it was our first time and when we said yes he just said ok. no specials or soup of the day or menu was explained to us. he just gave us the menu and left. this particular waiter has no personality whatsoever, never gives eye contact and does not smile. when he asked us how our dish was he immediately left and did not even wait for us to finish our answer. like he was in a hurry and he just had to ask how our food was. did not ask once to refill our drinks. and gave us our check while we were still working on our food and did not even as us if we wanted dessert(we were planning on ordering their dessert platter). when he got our order i noticed he didnt ask us if we wanted fries or salad with our dish since we had the option so i said "with fries on our orders please". he answered so quickly "yeah" like i was supposed to know that it automatically comes with fries. we ordered hot hot hot burger- it was good. not hot hot hot though. but good. the other order was bearnaisse burger and some bites of the burger was very salty. the appetizer lemon garlic wings was delicious. we may come back but not with the same server. i feel that all restaurant no matter how good their food is should come with great customer service. it was unfortunate that we fell on a bad day for this one server.

Have been here twice, both times my group and I have been wowed by the exemplary service and food. Great menu too! Mac and cheese with apple sausage and the crave burger are "musts!" My second time here they forgot the sausage in my Mac and cheese, but the manager came to check on his and we told him the problem and he seemed very sincere and gave me a whole new meal free of charge while the waiter always checked on us to make sure everything was ok. A place I look forward to going to in the future. You won't be disappointed.

I want to start by saying that I know this place just opened so I know there will be growing pains. I went to eat there with my parents this week for my mom's birthday. I was debating between 2 and 3 stars and went with 3 because the food was good (especially for a new restaurant).... Overall, the staff was very friendly and we were well attended to. The food I actually got to eat (due to dietary issues) was very tasty (I ordered the Sautéed Norwegian Salmon, mustard crusted, whole grain beurre blanc, chive potato purée, heirloom carrots) and the salmon, although a touch over cooked, was very delicious. The mustard seeds gave it a great crunch which added to the texture of the food. The carrots were good (I hate mushy carrots) so the fact they were slightly under cooked was perfect for me. The chive potato puree was amazing and the mustard beurre blanc sauce was out of this world. I loved the dish so much, that I am going to try to make it at home soon. I also tasted my mom's simply grilled bistro steak which was cooked exactly as she requested (medium rare) and tasted great. The seasoning was perfect and did not overwhelm the flavor of the beef. The Brussels sprouts they served with the steak were tender and yummy as was the garlic potato puree. My father's Lobster Fettuccine was delish as well. I did not taste the lobster but I did taste a noodle to see what the flavor was and the truffle flavor was pronounced but not overwhelming. Please note this is not ALFREDO as we initially commented it was not as creamy as we thought it would be when we tasted it and I remembered the menu said it was a truffle butter sauce and not an alfredo sauce. Sometimes people assume alfredo when they see fettuccine. Now the reason for three stars and not four or five: 1. We had ordered the Volcano Roll as an appetizer after very calculated discussions of what to order. Many of the rolls listed that it "contains roe" and it even noted any roll can be made without Roe if requested. The volcano roll very clearly does NOT say Roe. The description is: Volcano* baked scallops, snow crab, avocado, cucumber, spicy sweet sauce We asked for sauces to be on the side. As an FYI, the * corresponded to this note at the bottom of the page: Unless noted by an asterisk (*) items on sushi menu do contain raw or undercooked meats, fish or shellfish. To me, this means everything on the Volcano roll should be COOKED (Roe is not cooked). The only other menu items with an asterisk were vegetarian rolls. I also found it strange their menu said "Vegetarian Rolls" for rolls that clearly had seafood on/in them but were COOKED. Well the roll comes out and while it looked nice, there was roe all over the baked scallops on top. It was glowing orange. I really really really hate roe. Like hate may not even be a strong enough word lol. My mom, while she does not particularly like Roe, can "deal with it" so she was so hungry she started eating it. I let the waiters know when they came around that their menu is incorrect and misleading because we would have asked for no Roe if we knew. They apologized and said they need to update the menus or clarify that next time. Fine, but that did NOT fix my issue. We were still charged for it (which is fine b/c my mom ate it) and they did not offer to remake it.... so to me, when you are spending over $100 and closer to $150 on dinner for 3 people, it should be right... 2. It was my mom's birthday and there was no acknowledgement of it. My mom and I arrived first and just as we were being seated, my mom went to the restroom. When she did, I told the woman who took us to our table that it was her birthday (and it truly was the DAY of her birthday). She told me that she would let our waiter know. Not sure if that information was ever relayed because they brought her nothing (we would have paid for it) and only one of the back up servers even wished her a happy birthday and that was because she had to plead with him to get another happy hour priced shot of sake because it was 2 minutes after happy hour ended and we could not get in touch with our actual waiter just before it ended. All in all the experience was AVERAGE (as indicated by 3 stars), while the food that i got to taste was ABOVE AVERAGE. I think once they work out their kinks, it will be a great establishment but they have a little ways to go. I really wish I could have tasted that Volcano roll too b/c it sounded delicious... oh well...

Titling this -- slip sliding.... came here after walking by numerous times. So, down the list. We were seated fairly quickly, on a Thursday around 6:30. TTTW (Total Time To Water) - 14 minutes. Too long in my book. We had to wave down a waiter to get our waiter. We got fish tacos, which were pretty good. Sushi dynamite roll also OK. I chose a shrimp linguine dish, which was just OK...the shrimp seemed pasty. I'm sure Crave could improve things, and probably has to an extent, in response to the sharply negative reviews here. As I conclude this, we sit waiting for our check s bit too long. This comes off as more of a bar/after work/party place. Pretty high noise level. For the price of the mains, the sizes seemed small. Will have to think a bit whether a return trip is warranted.

Came here with a group of friends on a Friday. I ordered the grilled mahi mahi from their chef's specials section, and a mojito. The mojito wasn't very good, there was very little alcohol and whatever sweetener they used made the drink taste funny. 2/5 The mahi mahi was served on a bed of shrimp sauteed rice and macadamia nuts and some kind of banana creme. I really liked the mixture of textures and flavors, but the fish itself was a bit on the dry side and the portion size was way too small. 3/5 I was still very hungry after I finished my meal, so I stole one of my friend's lemon garlic wings, which were delicious. I would order the wings again if I were here for a happy hour or something in the future, but there wasn't really anything that stood out so I don't think I would go out of my way to come back.

Went here for dinner on a Friday night. We had never been here before so we made a reservation for the 4 of us (myself, husband, our 4 yr old and my husbands friend). I'm glad we did make a reservation because even though the restaurant appeared to have tons of vacant tables the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I'm not really sure what was happening at that point, there were several employees at the hostess desk just standing around of which they were bickering who would seat us. Finally after getting us seated, it took a while to get our drink order. My husband had to ask if we could order our drinks. Then again for our food order. After having my doubts about this place because of the poor service so far, I was pleasantly surprised that the food was so good. I ordered the lamb meatballs with a poblano cream sauce and goat cheese. It was spicy and very filling. My husband and his friend got the short rib beef stroganoff. Both said it was delicious. The back of the house definitely has their act together, now if the front of the house can get their act together I'd definitely come back. However, the combination of being a bit pricey and bad customer service just doesn't make it worth it. Next time I'll go to Cheesecake Factory.

Two weeks ago when I tried crave the first time I would have given them five stars. The food was great, high quality, well prepared and the service perfect. I went running back yesterday hoping for the same. I ordered again the crave burger well done. It was sadly overcooked and it looks like they are cutting cost as the meat quality has declined. They went from a very lean burger to much fattier burger, I was tasting it hours later. The service is still great and so is the cider on tap.

They're new, so there's a bit of slack to be given here. The food itself was good albeit a bit cold by the time it got to me. It took forever to arrive but the manager took 50% off the bill to compensate for it. The actual decor and quality of the food is really terrific. I got the salmon and it was delicious and had excellent presentation. As I said before, though, the sauce was a bit cold compared to the rest of the dish, leading me to believe that the kitchen didn't have their timings down yet. If they fix it up in the coming weeks I could easily see this place being 4.5 stars.

Waitress pushing the $40. Filet with crab. Not interested. Food passing by all looked really good! Went with kobi beef tacos and baby kale salad. Horrible tacos with salty sauce drizzled on them. She forgot my salad and asked if I still wanted. Yes....and when she brought it, it looked like it had been sitting on the counter for a while. Service was very slow, had to beg for water and tea refills. Really a loud venue. Won't go back even for a free meal. My husband and other friends got burgers and said they were okay.

My colleague and I came here yesterday for their restaurant week lunch menu. Service was great and our waiter was very informative and attentive, checking on us every 15 mins, asking us what we think of the food and if we like them, to the point it was a little too much (hence knock off 1 star). The lunch menu was amazing and I would recommend the tempura frites appetizer to everyone. I loved the steak frites as well as their tiramisu dessert! Will definitely be back to try out other things on the menu.

We have gone several times, hoping that the terrible service will improve. No luck. Last time, they completely forgot that we existed, even though we were sitting in the center of the dining room. I don't have high standards for a restaurant in a mall, but I do expect food delivery within an hour... or at least our drink order. Sorry guys - hope things improve at some point.

Visited CRAVE today for lunch. Loved the ambience. Loved the dining experience. We ordered the Lemon wings for appetizers. They were great ! Whole wings (not wingettes). Drenched in a flavorful sauce. We ordered the CRAVE burger and fries for lunch. The food was delicious! Our waiter Nathalia I think was very knowledgeable of the menu items and even offered suggestions. Her service was also great. She wasn't a helicopter and we never had to look or wait for her. Overall we had a great experience and plan to return. We even signed up for the CRAVE points card. Great job CRAVE. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Went here before going to the movies on July 4th. Restaurant was not busy at all and we asked for a booth, but were told there were no servers in that area of the restaurant. Decided to sit "outside" which was just some tables set up in the middle of the mall in front of the restaurant. Waitress was training someone and the service was slow. Ordered the bacon and cheese tater tots which had so little bacon in them that we could barely see it. Complained about it, but was still left on our bill. Got the Parmesan crusted chicken with potatoes and asparagus in some sort of bacon jelly sauce. Meh! Fair at best. Was overly salty and tasted so so. Did not want desert figuring that it would probably be on par with what we previously ate. I don't think I will be back. There are much better places in the food court part of the mall that are less expensive. All in all, very disappointed with both the service and quality of the food.

Used to love going to the Omaha location when I lived out there. So I was excited to see the Montgomery Mall location. A wee bit dark inside but great service and my steak was delish. Also great nigiri, great to have you here.

The appetizers and small plates are pretty decent. The entrees and service were a bit iffy. I ordered a well done burger. I'm 6 months pregnant and wanted a burger that was fully cooked. It came out medium/medium rare. I actually ended up having my head in a toilet for a few hours that night because of this. I was also given the option of couscous which I chose over fries. I was not told this couscous was over a bed of overdressed greens. My husband got a steak sandwich that was dripping in grease. It did not make for the most pleasant of sandwiches. My friend got the Mac and cheese with chicken. The chicken was dry and the Mac and cheese itself was very under seasoned. He actually had to put a few shakes of salt in to make his food pleasantly edible. We got the truffle fries, firecracker shrimp, and baked taters which were quite yummy. Overall, if you're looking for a place with wine and appetizers, this seems like a decent place. For actual meals, this isn't the best place in the mall.

It's in a mall, which is weird, but the food is very good, but that's not why I felt so inspired to leave a review because our server Nicole was so good. Not only did she know the food, but she always said the right thing at the right time. She was one of the best servers I've ever had around here.

Crave is new, I get it. But our overly nervous waiter was hovering. He could not speak to the dishes as to what was his favorite. We ordered the chicken sausage flatbread and the edamame for apps and a bread basket. ($2 for bread, skip it, not that great) Flat bread and Edamame were good. Ordered our main course, a burger, a sushi platter and the Chicken/Brie sandwich in Tandoori bread...all but the last good. Fries were the side and were warmish bordering on cool. Chicken brie was rubbery and the cheese was melted like it was microwaved. When I told our waiter it was not good and we wouldn't be eating it, he said, oh, gee, sorry. No offer to replace or look into it. We skipped dessert. The alcohol is dreadfully overpriced, Not sure I will be back.

Went on a Sunday afternoon one week after opening. Service was good but perhaps too friendly. Waitress wanted to be part of the meal conversation more than she wanted to serve it. Food delivery was slow especially given the restaurant was more than 75% empty. Kitchen needs to improve, and I suspect they will with time. Food was quite good. I had a sushi roll, which was very well prepared and fresh. Also had a salad with grapefruit and some veggies. Wife had a 1/2 sandwich and soup....they must be competing with Cheesecake Factory next door for size because the 1/2 sandwich was a full flatbread. Kids had mini sliders and Mac and cheese, both very good kids options and not just from a microwave box. They also give kids a nice (and free) fruit cup that is all fresh fruit. Nice touch, especially given how long we had to wait for food. I'd definitely go back and could see them getting an even higher star rating as time goes by.

Not ready for prime time, as of mid-May. Way understaffed --- seaweed salad's not a complicated dish, but their tricked-out version with beets, cucumbers and other scrapings showed about an hour after we found our own way to an empty booth. The server, earnest, cheerful, and desperately over-assigned, did her best but clearly couldn't cope with the kitchen. The roast chicken was gimmicked up with an orange jalapeno glaze. Crave is trying to be anything but ordinary with their menu split between conventional family style and sushi. Maybe the sushi is good, we didn't try it, but, judging from what we did sample, the odds are it's assembly line food with ornamental add-ons that cost a bunch but contribute very little to an expensive and mediocre experience.

This is my first yelp review, I almost never have terrible experiences.... except for this place. Now, the food is good, however.. if you sit at the bar, your service is very questionable, even though there are few people at the bar. What concerns me, even if you have 3 people working the bar, it takes 10 minutes to get a refill on a drink and if you ask, hey I need a refill, you get instance backlash. It's exceptionally bad if you go when a gentleman named Vaughn is working the bar. He honestly is the rudest, most un accommodating bar tender I have ever come across. I even had a talk with the General Manager of the restaurant at the time, Jordan, and he assured us he would have a talk with this Vaughn fellow. Overall, food is good.. bar service is very, very, poor.

Weak drinks -- will order wine next time. I was expecting more innovative things. I got the california roll (ok), pork belly sliders (least tasty I have tasted) & chicken apple sausage flatbread (ok) to share for happy hour.

Overall my experience there was good and the quality was right for the price. The sushi was fresh, which is surprising considering it is not the only thing they do. The Mahi Mahi was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. It was plated on red rice (similar to wild) with the right amount of heat. Excellent! The two different Cabernet's I had were slightly over priced but the were both very good. Dessert was excellent. I had the the S'more Brownie which was better in look and description than taste. Not bad but just above average. My wife had the brown butter bread which was disgusting. It taste like room temperature doe in a cup. Gross! However, they made it up to us by bringing the Banana Creme Brûlée. Fantastic! Best I've had. It appears they are actively looking for good staff, cooks, and management so I hope they can maintain their product and service. I'll have to check again in a few months.

What a great restaurant! The food is fresh and delicious the staff , a pleasure ! What a find for us in an unexpected place! We have been back many times and will continue to do so. So few restaurants of it's caliber in this area !

Just....MEH. the boyfriend liked his steak. However, you can get the same quality at other places for cheaper. I got sushi - Godzilla roll was yummy but their dynamite roll was over powered by really old fish taste so I couldn't eat it. Some people like that, I dunno, but I've had fresher at other places. Overall, this place wasn't worth how much we paid. The menu is surprisingly pricey.

The food is not bad, but not so special, either (for the price they charge). Every step in the whole eating experience here was horribly slow. I wouldn't recommend this place to families with young kids. The whole meal was too long. The place was also more noisy than most restaurants that we usually go.

Must come for happy hour, we got the pork sliders, sushi rolls and the lemon pepper wings.. The wings were amazing even had a second order. Our waiter Matt was very attentive, and knew all about the menu. We had a great time; this is our new happy hour spot..

Went here for lunch with my mom earlier this week and it was great! The only complaint I have is that we walked in from the parking lot which is I guess the back entrance so I had trouble locating the hostess stand but I know a lot of restaurants in the mall have that issue so that wasn't a big deal. The staff was very accommodating and originally had sat us in a booth which wasn't comfortable for my mother who has a broken arm and they were more than happy to give us a table instead. My mom got the salmon with grain mustard and I got a flat bread. Both amazing, which says a lot because I'm not a huge cooked salmon fan. The sushi looked great and they use real crab meat in their rolls, I will definitely be back to try the sushi and other menu options. Our server was great as well.

First time there last night, and was underwhelmed with food and service. Sat at the bar with a friend and we had a drink and sushi first. Sushi was very good, but bar service very slow. Bartender took our order but seemed to forget about us so had to remind him. We then went to booth to eat dinner. Server took a while to take order, Ordered steak & frites -- were not crisp frites at all but soggy french fries! Had to ask twice to refill water. Place is nice looking but disappointing in terms of food and service, esp since it really wasn't that busy there.

Went on a weekday. Had the rib eye with the ancho chile molasses sauce. Not bad. Tasted like a pork chop though. The presentation on the plate though was amazing. Very pretty food. The dessert prices on some of desserts were ridiculous. 9.95 for a slice of cheesecake ?!?! When the cheesecake factory with thousands of kinds of good cheesecake is right next door? Insane!!!

What a disappointment! We have eaten at Crave 2x before and enjoyed it - interesting menu, great sushi and excellent servers. So I bought the Living Social deal for a three-course meal for two (good only during the week) thinking it would be fun to go midweek with my husband. MISTAKE. Once seated, the server asked if we had been there before/were familiar with the menu and we said that we had eaten there before but not with a Living Social deal, so we needed to know what the restrictions were, and pulled out the voucher, She didn't know so she went and asked a Manager who flippantly told her, "Oh, they have to pull up the menu on their phones. Of course, this wasn't true, but we spent several minutes searching for the menu online. She then went and got another Manager, Michelle - the General Manager it turns out - who walked up to our table and quickly said, "Oh the deal is for $30 off of your check - you paid $15." I replied, "No, that is the new deal. We paid $58 for this deal - see?" She then said, "Oh, its expired" To which I replied, "No, it expires May 16th - you are "0" for "2"" She then said, "Well I don't know how I am going to ring this up so I have to go figure it out." and walked away. Several minutes later, she breezed by, said not a word, and dropped a piece of paper (an email from corporate) indicating the menu we could order from. A different waitress returned to take our order and I asked to speak to another Manager. By this point I was visibly upset and really wanted to leave, but didn't want to be out the $58 we paid for the voucher. Another Manager came over and "tried to make it right" by offering us drinks. We ordered an ice tea and a water. Since they charged us the $2.95 for the iced tea I guess they weren't that interested in making it right! The only person who apologized was the waitress, and she was really the only one who had nothing to do with the whole debacle. So we paid for the iced tea, tipped the waitress and left. There are too many other places to eat without the drama and poor management - we won't be returning.

We've eaten here twice. Food is excellent. Sushi was fresh, which on a Sunday is tough. Beet salad is delicious but it needs cheese, I asked for a side of goat cheese and it was perfect. Med platter is good and s'mores dessert is one of the best I've had. Bad side- music is way way too loud during the day. It's not a nightclub , it's across from Old Navy. And I've only been there for lunch. Service is friendly but food comes out slowly. Food is great but need to tighten up. Also vast dining room in the back is unfriendly looking compared to table booth area in the front. It needs something to make it look less like a giant open room.

I was excited to hear about the new restaurant Crave. So I drove out to Bethesda to treat my boyfriend to dinner for his birthday. Service from start to finish was great! Our apps included the super fresh Spicy Salmon Rolls and the Lemons Garlic Wings. Probably the freshest tasting salmon sushi I've ever had. The wings aren't your typical mini party wings out the freezer bag. These are whole wings seasoned perfectly. The scallops over risotto was soooo yummy. With bacon bacon bacon, and crispy leeks on top. I could literally eat a bowl of the crispy leeks by themselves. The chicken stir fry taste super fresh and makes you wish all Chinese take out tastes like this. All around service was great, from the hostesses, to our wonder server Darryl. The GM Michelle even came by to make her own personal recommendations for what we typically like.

Our service was good for our 3 top, the jambalaya was sweet and spicy, very well balanced. The stuffed chicken with asparagus and red potatoes was exellent. The restaurant is huge, stylish and very modern. Bathrooms are nice, Sunday is happy hour all day. If there in business when I'm back in town I know my mom won't object to going here again.

Been here several times before. Came restaurant was empty 5 adults 2 kids for dinner. Hostess said I need a reservation??? I said really your empty then another hostess came over laughing and waifs we just kidding. Didn't think that was funny at all! So they seat us at the high top next to the bar. I ask to get a table since they where all empty the Hostess rolls her eyes and moves us to a table. Really sorry to have to ask for a table again. So we order Apps they took 30 minutes to bring out King Kong Roll and Wings. Waters are not refillable so sip slowly because server will never refill even after asking 3x. Entrees took forever and all came out wrong. Half sent back to remake. After another 45 minutes of waiting ask for the check paid $130 for Apps and doggy bags. I thought eating out was to avoid eating at home? But taking Entrees home to eat after almost 2 hours is ridiculous. I'm not Craving Crave ever again.

I remember seeing bad reviews for this place when I was searching for a dinner spot months ago, and I really wish I had remembered this when my boyfriend and I were considering Crave for dinner, but learning about the 1/2 priced sushi got me. Service was slow and the waitstaff was not very attentive. We came on a Tuesday night when the restaurant wasn't very busy at all, so we were quite surprised to find how long it took for us to get our menus, our drinks, and then our food. I got the Spicy Salmon Crunch and the King Kong, and both were pretty meh. Something was off about it, and it didn't seem very sushi-like. Maybe it was the rice? I've had better sushi at food courts, honestly. I remember jokingly saying to my boyfriend that I've never had sushi with a fork before and made a mental note to ask our waitress to see if they had any chopsticks. It wasn't until I was 1/2 done with my sushi (and so over my meal at that point..) that she finally stopped by to check up on us with my chopsticks and little dish with soy sauce. I hadn't even asked for it yet at that point, so I'm assuming she had forgotten to stop by after our food was brought out. This dinner, without appetizers and dessert, took almost 2 hours. Way too long. I really had to dig deep to find a reason to rate our experience 2 stars instead of just 1. I guess we were seated rather quickly? And our waitress was nice, I guess..

I ate here during the happy hour time. It was pretty packed which is always a good sign. Our bartender was so attentive and professional. She really made sure my sister and I felt comfortable. She always checked up on us, which I really appreciated. As far as the drinks, I got the red sangria. The sangria was so delicious. I could taste the fresh squeezed orange juice. There were chunks of pulps in the drink which made the sangria that much more refreshing. The sangria was sweet yet at the same time, the wine was able to shine through. Now, the food was delicious. My sister and I ordered the tacos and the spicy salmon rolls. The tacos were made of a bulgogi marinate and some freshly chopped kimchi. There was a strong sesame oil undertone to the tacos which I personally wish there was less of. However, the tacos were savory yet at the same time, light enough to eat with my sangria.

I have never given such a poor rating before. Hence, its appropriate. We came here last night as a quick change of mind from Tyson's Corner...go figure. After waiting at the Hostess Desk for 5 minutes without being acknowledged by the few folks that saw us, we bounced. This is the 2nd restaurant I've walked out of in a 2 week period due to customer disregard...come on eateries, get it together! Of course I sent the business the following message while I dined elsewhere due to convenience & time. No shade towards CF, just not what I planned for my Friday Night breaking of the bread. Hello, just to let you know that my party stood at the Hostess Stand for 5 minutes without being acknowledged. The Bartender looked at us twice & yet, no type of salutations. My peeps said to go against Trip Advisor's less than favorite reviews to give Crave a shot...not to mention we left Tyson's Corner to come here. Hence, we settled for The Cheesecake Factory...not our Friday Night Lights preference. I saw my fellow Yelpie's few reviews for Crave & should have kept it moving...on to the next.

I love this place and everything it stands for! This was my first time trying it out and the food was excellent! Our waitress was the BOMB ( wish I remembered her name so I could insert it). We started with the honey siracha wings (YES) and a bread basket of only pita and focaccia (get this) with herb butter. Both breads were something special! I ordered the lamb meatballs and the bf had the ribeye. My lamb pasta was pretty good. His steak was seasoned well but not the best cut of meat. But then again it was exactly like we were at a steakhouse either. No room for dessert. Oh and our drinks were great too! I had the raspberry ginger gimlet, bf had the freak show ( or something that sounded like that). Both great choices!

Ok, first, the food - i must say, they have pretty good happy hour sushi and flat breads. the sushi was very well prepared, fresh and they don't skimp out on the sizes. They have a good selection for drinks as well. SO it was a good happy hour spot. I went here for lunch on a Friday - and we ordered some flatbreads...which is pretty much a pizza good enough to share! I had the bbq chicken and I also tried the margherita flatbread. Both were delicious! They put a good amount of toppings and it is neatly served on a wooden plank that makes it so much more appealing to eat :) Why the two stars right? Well - sad to say, i've been to this place twice and my group and I were very disappointed at the service. They were definitely slow, and not very attentive to the customers at all. Usually, when I have had a bad experience once...i try not to go back again, but in this case, i really really enjoyed the food they served, and it was conveniently located near the office. But...even on the second try, we were very disappointed. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all on both ocassions - one was the friday before Easter (no one goes out on good friday) and the other time was an early lunch on a Friday. I tried twice, and disappointed. I hope Crave ups the ante on their service game..because good attentive, pleasant and present servers goes a long way.

What an awesome experience!!! The service started off perfectly! The greeter met me with a smile and brought me to the sushi bar as I requested. Next I was presented with so many options since the menu was separated into three parts. Drinks sushi and meals. Malieka, my server, scored immediate points when I told her my allergy to citrus and she immediately took the necessary precautions to ensure I would be safe. She addressed the sushi chef as "chef" which shows me the level of respect the servers have for the other members of the team. Now the food: my crave salad had the perfect amount of everything. It was fresh and crisp. Caterpillar sushi: AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! Presentation of food: A+ I was asked by the server and the sushi chef if I was OK and made certain I was satisfied. I plan to return and promote this establishment.

Outstanding service and food. Now for the deets... The moment I entered CRAVE, I was so captured by the amazingly beautiful ambiance and decor. The kaleidoscope of oranges and coppers throughout the restaurant are intriguing. It was lunchtime and every staff member greeted us with a genuine smile and hello...You don't get that everywhere. I felt welcomed and confident that my experience would be enjoyable and CRAVE surpassed ALL of my expectations. Natalyia is one of the best waitresses I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, hands down. She is kind, genuine, thoughtful and knowledgable about everything CRAVE. The moment we sat down she brought over a bowl of fresh fruit for my 8 month old son. I've been to so many restaurants and never has this happened before. I was so impressed by the abundance of flavor in the LEMOM GARLIC WINGS! You must try them! They marinate them for practically two days and then cook them using four different methods! Blew me away with the goodness and quality! I also ordered the angus burger, medium well and it was so delicious and perfect! The manager came over to introduce himself and make sure everything was to our liking. I highly recommend you come to CRAVE and bring your friends and loved ones! I cannot wait to come back! 5 stars CRAVE! Welcome to the neighborhood!

3 1/2 stars. Crave just opened a week or so ago and it shows. Montgomery Mall, who would have thought, has opened several new sit down restaurants, including Cheesecake Factory, MET Bethesda, and this new place. Always thought the mall was more for food court eats (especially Chipotle, Cava Mezze Grill just opened there), but hoping that these places stay here for a long time. I was really surprised how large this place was, with a big u shape bar with many tv's (new happy hour starts January 19th too!) right up front. Good selection of beers on tap too. Will have to come back for happy hour. I think this only place in the mall to get bento boxes and sushi (besides that fast food place) too! Anyways, the food took a very long time to get. Came here at lunch on a Saturday and our waitress, very soft spoken, was nice and refilled our drinks so many times. Very eager to remove plates though. Easy! Big pet peeve of mine. It took almost one hour to get our 3 entrees and they overcooked the burger, my steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, but lacked any seasoning at all (thank goodness for salt and pepper grinders), but the bento box was good, and they comped our chicken wing appetizer (was really good). Good Mac and cheese from kids menu too! Since its a new place, I'll let come back here soon to dine again and check their happy hour too. Off to a very promising start!

Crave American Kitchen and Sushi Bar is a new establishment in the Westfield Montgomery Mall. Today, my mom and I came here for a late lunch. In summary, the seating was spacious and comfortable, the service was good, and the food was delicious. We ordered the following: Roasted Beet Salad, Grilled Steak and Baby Kale Salad, and Sushi Lunch Combo. The Roasted Beet Salad consisted of arugula, finely diced red and golden beets, orange segments, and candied cashews tossed in a citrus vinaigrette. We felt that the portion size of roasted beets to the salad could have been greater. The Grilled Steak and Baby Kale Salad consisted of organic baby kale, roasted pumpkin seeds, and diced sauteed butternut squash tossed in a honey citrus vinaigrette and served with grilled steak slices that cooked to perfection. The grilled steak was tender and juicy just how I like it. The Sushi Lunch Combo consisted of California Rolls (a roll consisting of avocado, cucumber, and crabmeat), 4 pieces of sushi (shrimp, salmon, yellowfin tuna, tuna), and a cup of miso soup (soup made of white miso paste, diced silky tofu, seaweed, and green scallion). Next time, we'll have to come back for the desserts!

Friendly welcoming .. While we leave also! Food is excellent .. The chicken wings with the cucumbers yummy !! Chicken wings are huge . I also ordered the burger very huge . The waitress told us that everything is made fresh. I didn't give it a 5 star because bathroom has a bad odor to it and they ran out of to go cups .. I wanted to take the lemonade with me. Service was average she forgot the bacon for the burger . I come back for happy hour since I love their chicken wings !

I went to Crave for the first time during the Elite Event Flights & Bites as a part of Westfield Taste 2015. It was awesome! We sat at the bar and were taken care of by Nicolette, who was a fantastic and attentive bartender. She recommended the sangria, and boy, was she right! It was fab. Then I ordered a spicy salmon roll and my girlfriend ordered the bacon & cheddar tater tots - both were delicious!!! The spicy salmon tasted fresh, not fishy, and the salmon was a good, thick chunk. The tater tots were delightful and filling! I can't wait to go back!

Came here to check out their happy hour and got sat in a booth. I've always wanted to try the place out! Unfortunately my experience wasn't that great. Our server seemed like she just did not want to be there. We got lettuce wraps, truffle fries, wings, and I got a cranapple breeze cocktail. Lettuce wraps were pretty good. Good flavor. Truffle fries had zero truffle oil on them so we asked for a side of it. She told us it may be extra money (even though the truffle fries....didn't taste at all like truffle. Come to find out later that she put in a regular order, not truffle like we asked. A battle we didn't bother fighting at the end). Wings were good but 3 wings for the cost wasn't worth it. The cranapple breeze cocktail I was excited for since it had gingerale and apple juice. It tasted like a regular cranberry vodka with no carbonation. Very sad :( Won't be coming back here. Menu has great ideas but execution and service needs work.

We went in for the $50 Date Night deal (2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, and a bottle of wine from a prefix menu), and honestly were really impressed with everything! We can't wait to come back and check out the full menu. Good service too! :)

Overly priced for bland dish. Ordered a simple Norwegian salmon and my friend got seafood linguine and we were not impressed. The salmon I'll admit was well cooked but lacked in flavor. I tasted my friends dish and it also lacked in flavor. The plates were huge but the portions were not (illusion of big portion). Anyways the taste and portion did not represent the price for these dishes, so it's over priced! My cauli flower seemed dry anyways...looked fancy but not impressed. Cheesecake would've been a better choice.

I really wanted to like crave. I've been wanting to try it since they opened. Walked up 1hr before catching a movie. We were immediately asked if we has a reservation. We didn't. We were then told it would be at least a 15 minute wait to be seated or we could seat at the bar. Look I've seen 1hr waits at the nearby cheese cake factory and tons on dupont restaurants but this place was 55% empty. I mean tables as far back add the eyes can see empty! So the so called wait is obviously pretentious and a complete gimmick in my opinion. Not caring, we sat at the bar. Ordered the honey Sriracha wings, calamari and sliders. Wife had a sangria and I opted for a moonshine or something. Both drinks were strong, just like I like em and I expressed my gratitude to barkeep with green thanks. The food was good to very good. Final bill approached $80. OK three apps and 2 drinks for 80 bills in extra burby Bethesda? I'm reminded of the wolf of wall street question about $100000 on apps? Was the food soaked in saffron and doused in shaved gold? Obviously completely ridiculous price point for apps. This place won't last and there won't be many repeat customers. It is supposed to be trendy and hip. But a spurious wait, over priced items in a mall in the burbs isn't going to work. Visit if you must but don't have high expectations.

I went for lunch and really enjoyed my meal! It's nothing out of the ordinarily special, but my bamboo bite roll was great. There is not much variety for the sushi though. If you are craving for good quality sushi, but the person who you are going with likes American food, come here! Both the sushi and the American food are very good. But if all of your party likes sushi, I would probably go to a normal sushi restaurant since they have more variety.

We were very impressed with crave. The food was great and our server Mook was awesome. The date night special (two apps, two entrees, two deserts and a bottle of wine for $50. Can't beat that!) was incredible! Definitely coming back soon.

I think the fact that there were only six parties seated in a cavernous space on a Sunday night says something about Crave. Our dinner was indeed forgettable, with our appetizers and dinners being a bit uninspired and lacking any real flavor. A crab artichoke dip that doesn't really convey crab or artichoke? Humongous tater tots that are more a croquette pretender than tater tot? Cold French fries on a slow night? Gin and tonics served with somewhat flat tonic? The only good thing I can say is that our server was very attentive, and if I were him, I'd be seeking employment elsewhere, since I don't think Crave will be around much longer.

Our experience at crave was rather disappointing. The food, service, and all around experience was disappointing. The restaurant is located outside of the food court in the Montgomery mall, next to the old Navy. The decor is alright and thee is plenty of room through the restaurant. We came here on a Sunday to celebrate a friend's birthday. They had originally made a reservation and weren't told that for the amount of guests they had invited, they would need to order from a fixed menu. Once they confirmed just days prior, the restaurant told them and they complied. On the menu they had crostini, a vegetable tray, two steak slider trays, meatballs, chicken skewers, a tuna tartar and three sushi boats. Strangely, the restaurant decided to serve a few of the appetizers cocktail style and dumped the rest on a table. They walked around twice with the trays, but didn't leave the leftovers. The steak sliders were incredibly dry, and nothing else stood out. All in all, there wasn't enough food for each person to have a plate - the restaurant should have recommended more food. Drinks were not included and wine ran $10-$15 a glass which is very pricey for the area and there was much confusion as to which servers were taking drink orders. The bill for food only ran about $32 a person and ended up being significantly more once beverages and gratuity were added on. Judging on quality of food, service, value and location, I don't plan on coming back.

I returned to Crave 9 months after my first review with the same couple that we had a failed experience with before (the manager had written to ask us to give them another try and we obliged). We were seated at the exact same table as our previous meal but that was about all that ended up being in common. I'm not sure if it is a limited time promotion or not but they had a "date night" menu which consisted of 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 small desserts as well as a bottle of wine for $50 which seemed like a relatively good value and an opportunity to try several items. Our drinks and food were all served in a timely manner by a friendly and professional waitress and the food was very good, maybe not quite outstanding but we were all happy with our dishes. Presentation of everything was nice and the staff was very attentive and prompt to check on drinks, clear dishes, check on things, etc. All in all, a very pleasant experience and I would come back again. It was nice to see things seemingly turning around.

I visited (7/12/15) it was half price sushi-on a Separate printed menu. I ordered "avocado roll" includes avocado, salmon & sushi rice. Listed under America's Favorite Rolls on menu. It was my first time ordering sushi myself. I usually let more experienced sushi friends/colleagues make selection. My server was knowledgeable clearly explained sushi options. The sushi was a delicious treat. Great service too.

I tried crave for the first time today after avoiding it for a few months, and I must say it was worth the wait. I sat in the bar area, and was greeted by my server shortly after. Ali, my server made some awesome suggestions, as the menu can be a bit overwhelming since they have a vast sushi menu and dinner menu options. I started with the summer hummus and my entree was the grilled Mahi Mahi. I will definitely come back to this place and try some of their other offerings. I gave 4 stars for the menu having TOO many options! It took me forever to pick something because there was so much to choose from.

Came here for an afternoon Saturday birthday party. Big, spacious restaurant with plenty of seating. We had a big party of over 20 and the servers were really accommodating. You actually forget for a minute that you are at the mall. Montgomery Mall is really doing things right by adding in these new quality restaurants. Definitely a plus for me to go grab a beer while my wife shops! I always thought stores should always include some TVs and drinks for the husbands/bfs to watch the game while the signif shops. Would've been a good idea... It wasn't that packed so we had room for all the lil kids to roam around our tables without having to herd them like goats. We let them run semi-free. I thought maybe the manager or servers would complain about the toddlers out of their seats but they were really cool. One of the servers was actually playing around with my son which was cute. The food was really good actually. I was totally surprised. The lemon garlic wings were big and tasty. Recommend getting those as an app. Bison burger was delicious as it was topped with pork belly. Had a certain sweet glaze that gave the burger an awesome taste to it. It all worked well together. Also tried some of the soft shell crab sandwich and that was also great. Nothing tastes bad here and the service was excellent given the fact that they had to work with over 20 people and 10 little kids and babies. Awesome place so far, may have to come a few more times for me to give it that coveted 5 star. Another performance like this would seal the deal. The Good: - great for families and large groups - spacious, nicely designed - excellent service, fast and efficient - lemon garlic wings were really big and tasty - bison burger topped with pork belly was so good The Bad: - parking can get crazy on the weekends since its at the mall The Ugly: - it's in the mall so beware that you might have to go shopping

I want to love Crave. Really, I do. However, I think I've got to wait until they get the staffing (as in under staffing) in order before I can give it any more than 3 stars - or more patronage. The food, once it gets to you, is what brings the rating up. And the servers are nice - the problem is there are NEVER enough staff and the way their table assignments are set up, it seems that they don't have designated sections to work. I have been there with different groups of people on three different occasions, and each time we all left being really pleased by all the sushi/Asian foods, but absolutely disappointed with the slow service. Between getting seated by the host and our server finally coming to take our orders, 20-30 minutes had passed. And that was EACH time I went there. There are busboys galore, but not enough servers to take orders (usually one of the managers is running around trying to get orders in and to tables). This last time I went to Crave, we walked in at 6:30 and it was basically empty. However we were told there would be a 15 minute wait. The host mumbled something about a server not coming in or something. And seemed displeased that we wished to be seated in a less air-conditioned area (one of our party was feeling sick). We ordered the beef tacos, crab artichoke dip, hamachi and sake sashimi, and tuna poke salad. The food was outstanding. The bulgogi marinade for the tacos had us licking our lips. Our server was really nice, but she had tables inside AND outside the restaurant (in their little "patio" area), so she was literally all over the place. But again, she was really nice, and the food rocked. So 3 stars for Crave - for now.

Ive been here three times now? And the customer Service is still probably the best ever, We had Tracey as our waitress. She be the bomb Diggity, she had to deal with my picky and indecisive friend. She took it like a champ and with a GENUINE smile. Shout out to Tracey lol. But i love this place the food continues to be very good also. They had a sushi sale this past tuesday, which im not sure if its every tuesday, but our bills did not give us a heartattack. Try the Pork Dumpling, appetizers! :)

It's not often we go to a restaurant where everyone can find exactly what they want. Last Sunday my wife wanted sushi, I wanted a steak and then there were the kids. We tried Crave and were very pleased with what they had to offer. This is a very classy restaurant and the service was great! We all had great meals and can't wait to go again. Try the Argentine Style Ribeye *palm sugar rub and chimichurri* unlike any I've ever had and worth every penny. My wife took advantage of their half priced sushi special so we sampled several. All were great especially the spicy ones. Nice bar and atmosphere. My wife and I will ditch the kids next time and enjoy our date night without driving into DC.

I liked it! I thought I wouldn't. First my two complaints then on to what was good. It is VERY NOISY! The Beer was way overpriced at $8 dogfish draft - the price is not listed on the menu For an appetizer we shared a volcano roll - sushi. It was very good! I had jambalaya for a main course and that was also very good. It could have done better with less white rice and that should have been an option. Phyllis got a salmon dish and like it. I think Cheesecake next door is now off the list! I'll be back for another fun but not cheap meal.

I was not impressed with this place at all. The restaurant was basically empty when we got there the hostess told me it would be a 10 minute wait to be seated because we didn't have a reservation. Why? Literally not one customer came in before they sat us 7 minutes later. Not while I wasn't the ideal customer, eating dinner with my well behaved toddler on Friday night. We still always tip very well. Our server was awful and clearly annoyed that it was just the two of us dining. I don't what they're trying to be since they're located in a mall, where TONS of families eat. He didn't come and check on us once after our food was delivered and I had to ask him to refill my drink. The food wasn't very good. We got the simply grilled salmon, the ginger beef rice bowl, and bacon tots. I will probably not give this place a second chance. And for a server that clearly wanted us gone quickly it's taken him a very long time to come get our credit card and they don't seem busy at all.

Crave was fine. It was easy to get in, parking and outdoor access was nice. We went for their half price sushi menu and it was fine. Nothing fantastic, but it worked. I don't know that I would have been thrilled paying full price though. Just not enough fish to rice ratio for the cost.

I had a great experience at dinner with my mommy friends. As soon as I walked in, they greeted me with a warm welcome and smile. I told them my friend's name, and he knew exactly where our table was and walked me to it. We had a party of 8, and we had 2 servers assisting us with our our food and drinks. I am not a sushi fan, but if I was, I would have ordered some. The presentation was beautiful. I ordered a medium well burger that came with fries. The food was amazing! Especially the fries - the right amount of salt and taste. One thing that happened that I didn't like was that only 4 dishes came out and we had to wait another 3-5 minutes for the rest of our party's food to come. The managers did come by our table as soon as possible and apologized for the wait and that it shouldn't have happened (they redeemed themselves!) Dessert: CHOCOLATE CREME BRULEE!! The menu says "seasonal" flavor, so I wonder what the other flavors are. The creme brulee was delicious...and VERY sweet. Glad it was my "Cheat" Day. I would definitely come back with friends and family. They have a LivingSocial special the last time I checked ($15 for $30). This was my experience, but, my friends on the other end of the table had issues though.

If I could give no stars I would. In the 3 years doing yelp reviews this is the worst ,due to customer service with Nicolette on this past Sunday around noon ,which there was only one other person at lunch time on a Sunday??? This was my fourth time at Crave, which Nicolette had served me before with no isuue, no smile, greeting, glad to have you come in today absolutely nothing like I stated not even a smile but still acceptable...not good or great though. I eat out ever night and at least 3 times a week for lunch. I ordered well done salmon over wilted spinach. The order came out with sautéed swimming in olive oil spinach not wilted. I simply asked Nicolette for the wilted spinach that was stated on the menu and was not going dare say a word about the medium done salmon. Well it was not good, she gave me that"no you did not go there look" and rolled her eyes. It took me back for a few seconds and I confronted here. I stated that I am also in the service industry and would be out of business if I acting in such a way. She immediately apologized , which I totally accepted. Then I over heard the conversation about the incident with the assumed regular at the bar directly across from me and then she was speaking to ever employee that picked drinks at bar and they would automatically start staring my way.... unacceptible!!!! Crave is a beautiful modern restaurant that being said much of the success is going to be the customer service experience. I was in Ahhhh of Nicolette. I hope this review helps her career and she will do a self evolution to be more successful this in not to hurt her. FYI- she actually charged me $13.95 for the 2.5 -3oz Salomon...wow!!! Was still hungry so went around the corner to Cheesecake Factory to eat and they where packed ummmmm???? You have to ask is this an employee or management issue????

AWESOME RESTAURANT!!!! The sushi was absolutely amazing! What I got was the Bamboo Bite and I dipped them on the soy sauce and it was fucking heaven! I'm in love with this restaurant. Our server was so helpful and recommended us things. It was a very clean restaurant. Didn't take forever for our food to come. That's very good. I'd go here again.

I've only been here three times and they really messed up this time they messed up my friends check and they keep giving us the runaround. when we wanted to talk to the manger and when we did talk to her she fixed it but it took 20 to 30 minutes from what I can tell they don't train there staff well or my friends check wouldn't have been messed up like it was. me and my friends were so mad that it took that long not just for that but for the food too and they weren't even that busy our waitress was either new with no training if not then I don't know that was wrong. I've NEVER had a bad experience with any restaurant I've been to like this this was just sad and poor management!!

I don't know I'm not a believe just yet. I was lured in by the decor and inviting atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. Food however was kinda nubbs, nothing of what we ordered was that good. Maybe we tried the wrong stuff, I really don't know. Not "craving" it all that much after coming here. I was hoping for a much better experience. I might give it another shot soon.

Wish I could give zero stars. Worst service I've seen in a long time. Nobody checked on us in 20 minutes after we got horrible drinks. The server thought it best to go and eat within sight of her table obviously looking for her. I stood up looking for anyone and timed it. There was No bartender, no other server checked on us, the front of house walked right past me standing up and ignored me. Didn't finish drinks, if they were that bad...how awful was the food about to be.

I had the bison burger which was absolutely amazing! The server Angelica was fantastic! I will definitely be coming back to this location again and I will be bringing my friend seeing as how they are extremely careful about seafood allergies even though they are a mostly seafood menu. This is one of the best places I have dined at in a long time. KEEP UP THE FABULOUS WORK!!!

3.5 stars: overall experience was good but not WOW enough - so I'm giving this a 3.5 which I'll round to 4. my friends and I came here for happy hour on a random Tuesday afternoon (their HH starts from 3-5 I think and again later at night, not quite sure about the hours tho so double check before going) the service was excellent - our waiter was fun and seemed pretty knowledgable about the menu seeing as they are a new restaurant and the food came out pretty promptly however, the HH dishes they have are pretty pricey for what you get. we ordered the kolgi beef tacos which were amazing in taste but $7 for two little tacos is a little much esp for HH. and an order of 2 crispy chicken sliders for $7 - meh not our favorite (compare to chick fil a chicken sandwich and you'd prob like chick fil a better honestly) We also tried the lamb meatballs ($6 for 4 lil balls) and those were pretty dry :-/ we also did get a sushi boat (Hoshii boat I think that was the name) and it was.. Good. I've definitely had better sushi that's way cheaper. I'd like to come back and try their full menu sometime. it's not a bad place and I enjoyed the kolgi tacos but everything else was meh and $$$
