Love chipotle:) Was visiting baltimore and couldn't resist getting my chicken taco salad. They ran out of chicken so it took a bit longer and the server gave me a side of guac for free:) Love chipotle so good.

busy, slow, friends had to wait in line for chicken to be prepared, which i didn't mind, but it seemed to me that there were several employee's just standing around doing....i'm not really sure? but, they were certainly leaving their team hanging. when we sat down i was subjected to a training conversation between two employees, loudly discussing how they were avoiding work. working at this chipotle must suck. that being said the food was fine, and heavy handed.

After trying several different Chipotle locations, I had decided to try this one since I had a doctor's appointment nearby. I am disappointed that my tacos were cold. I'm quite surprised that it was cold since it was only open for an hour when I had arrived. Everyone had good customer service with the exception of the cashier. They really need someone to check the temperatures of the hot food items.

I have had such terrible customer service here that I actually felt compelled to tell the corporate office, and I'm really not that guy. Slow and unbothered would be the two words I would use to describe this location. The food is usually okay once you manage to get through the line.

Why do I pay $10.25 for s burrito when I have to fight them just to mix it and they make comments under their breath? Never again. Worst place ever. So tired of fighting them on something so simple like bean proportions, I simply said I don't want that much and they roll their eyes. I don't think I have ever left somewhere so angry.

What is it with this Chipotle that is sooo terrible? Well, they don't know how to prep and cook their food for a large amount of customers. If you come during dinner or lunch rush, you are officially screwed. I noticed that this Chipotle had closed down for months until it reopened, but I don't see much improvement. The long lines could be fixed if they worked on their food prep. Most of the long lines are customers waiting for chicken to be cooked, rice to be steamed, etc. This is unacceptable! No Chipotle I've ever been to runs into these kinds of snags. Not to mention they always have a sign on the door that says they are out of carnitas. Okay, but don't you think after several weeks they would start ordering more carnitas? If you know carnitas is popular, then you get more of it! I avoid this Chipotle location since it reflects the business poorly as a franchise, and I once got a mild case of food poisoning here. I assume it was because they were trying to put the chicken out as soon as possible.

This Chiptole at one time had the heaviest hands and the best customer service. It's taken aim ute but now we're cooking with Crisco. My last 2 visits I didn't want to review because I think the serving line was having a bad day. I hate feeling like I'm begging for my toppings. For what they now charge for guacamole .. I want A FULL SPOONFULL ... anyway...lol .... This visit was by far the best I've had in a while. Joked with the servers... everyone was pleasant. Except chick with the eyenrows who didn't drain my tomatoes ... thus f"n up my soft tacos. They weren't waiting on anything...Thank GOD ... I've never understood not being prepared for your rush..hence my issues w/ my past visits...smh! I now declare this Chipotle not-as-rachet and shall once again bring my business back :) Was sick of driving downtown for my fix...

Now this place has gotten alot better I will admit, BUT, they still need to improve. For one they never like to give you enough rice, they act the more rice they give you, it will come out of their own pay checks. Its annoying. The bathrooms are terrible But like I said it has gotten better, they are a lot nicer

  • Sha T.

It seems that this spots customer service has improved. Gone are the snappy workers who always seem to have an attitude. I've always gotten my food expeditiously. One thing though, they could stand to turn the music down a notch. Just a notch. Typically it's so loud that patrons have to practically yell at each other for convo. Add all that together and you're in a tunnel of loudness. I'd also suggest that this Chipotle location petitions to get that MTA Bench pulled up. No one likes to dine and peruse butt crack while eating. :)

I'm not too sure why there are so many poor reviews... maybe people just get cranky when they can't get their burrito fix. I live around the corner so I've been to this chipotle and also to the one near Hopkins. Both locations are always busy but I prefer this one. It's full of friendly people and they're always accommodating to requests (sometimes I just want more rice! or sour cream on the side!) For the price (around 10 dollars for a drink, burrito, chips) you get more than enough food and you always know what you're going to get. I think maybe the reason it's so messy is that people just leave their trash on the tables and spill soda without cleaning it up. I mean how hard is it to throw your straw wrapper in the trash can that's only 3 feet away instead of discarding it in the lemon bucket?

This chipotle is just fine. Before going to this chipotle I read other reviewer's comments about how rude the employees are, and was a little concerned. However, I have to disagree with other reviewers. The employees here are more than nice, and have been each time I have come here. The customers on the other hand, have not been the nicest. Last time I was in here, the employee put the requisite amount of rice on a customers burrito, and the customer snapped, quite rudely, "is that ALL the rice you're gonna give me?!" I was a little taken aback by the customers attitude. I always ask for extra rice, every time I go to chiptole, and the employees here have never given any attitude about it. They give me two scoops and smile. Another time, a different customer yelled at an employee after they put the meat onto their burrito. They yelled, and I quote "you're freaking ripping me off on my meat!" The spoonful was an average amount of meat, I saw it. If you don't like the portion sizes at chipotle, don't go there. This isn't a location issue, this is a YOU issue. The spoons are the same no matter which one you visit. It's rare that I write a review chastising the customers, but seriously, I have not ONCE heard another customer say "please" or "thank you" to any of these employees. I use these words every time I visit, and get nothing but smiles and extra toppings. Maybe it's an east coast thing to be rude to employees, but as I'm sure your mother told you, "you'll catch a lot more flies with honey than vinegar." And if you want more food, then maybe try being pleasant to the employees... they're people too ya know...

I was in the area from out of town for an interview. The worst chipotle ive tried, definitely made a lasting impression. Unclean, food was all over the place behind the counter and tasted bad. Not sure how a chain establishment could deviate so far from the norm but this place managed to do it somehow.

Sub-par Chipotle restaurant. I've found it to be a disheveled and dirty place, with panicked, inattentive staff making seemingly random burritos for you as you calmly and politely request a specific ingredient they are bound to not touch. Recently I needed to place a large order for a co-worker's celebration, 14 burritos and two bowls. I considerately filled out an official order form and faxed it in with clear instructions and pick-up time. I called to confirm the fax, and they told me that it had arrived and it was in their hands. When my co-worker came to pick up the order, they did not have it ready and knew nothing about it. Thanks. I recommend the location in Charles Village (St. Paul) over this one. Parking is better and you'll have a good experience rather than a lousy one.

After reading the reviews I feel I should write one as well. I love the fact that this location is here because I LOVE CHIPTOLE. Sure the homeless on the bench causes a pause ...to give change that is. The dining area is clean and I got my order fast even with a smile from the cashier (shay) The food was fresh n ready. The faster the people came in, the faster they got them out which is great at this location because we don't have time to wait long...it is lunch hour. Give them a chance, every shop has a bad day. I have been to worse chiptole. At least double meat really meant Double here vs other locations who sham you.

This Chipotle is a great Chipotle! I live across the street and always grab the sofrita tacos when I am short for time. I never have to wait more then 10 to 15 minutes -- even when the line is out the door! Ingredients are fresh and the people are friendly :)

I really enjoy the food at most chipotle restaurants, however this particular location has a terrible time completing online orders concisely. On three separate occasions I've placed orders for my colleagues and I only to be disappointed my self or to have them vent their frustrations regarding their food to me. I didn't comment to the restaurant following my first flawed meal experience but after the second I contact the franchise via email and was provided with a meal replacement. After the third flawed set of meals I called the restaurant directly and was asked to return the partially eaten meals that we were unsatisfied with back to the restaurant. I got to this location during my lunch break at work so returning the partial meal was out of the question. Needless to say my most recent experience will be my last, especially at this location.

5 Things I dislike about this Chipotle: 1. Staff have been rude to me and they seem way too overly pushy trying to get me out the door. While they do have long lunch lines I shouldn't feel anxious about taking 5 seconds to put my wallet back into my purse before they force 5 other customers through the checkout line. 2. The tables usually are dirty. Bits of rice, burrito juice, napkins here and there, etc. Maybe it's not so bad at dinner time but during the lunch rush things are a mess. 3. The proportions are always off- usually I get too much rice, too much bean juice, an inadequate amount of lettuce, etc. 4. Half of the time when I order chicken I get several pieces of meat that are mostly gristle. It's weird, because I have never had this problem at other Chipotle restaurants. 5. The street scene outside the Chipotle isn't that great. I know this isn't the restaurant's fault, but you need to know that if you plan on dining here, you will have to deal with people begging for change and you may have to sidestep trash overflowing from the sidewalk trash can. Yes, I know Charles Street is busy and there's a bus stop right there, but the other restaurants on the block (Starbucks Tutti Frutti, Potbelly, Subway) don't have these kinds of issues.

It's convenient to have a Chipotle so close to home. It's a franchise, so there's nothing to really highlight about the food...if you've eaten at another Chipotle and liked it, you won't find any surprises at this location. The service has definitely improved since the first time I moved to the area. They are much nicer, and the food comes much quicker than before.

After speaking with corporate...this Chipotle seems to really be getting its act together. Tables are wiped clean frequently..and things aren't running out as frequently. We will see if it lasts, but for now, I applaud Chipotle on actually listening and fixing locations.

(12/14/2011) Yay! Finally a Chipotle in Mt. Vernon. Have been waiting on pins and needles for them to open, as it seems like, everyone within a half-mile radius. Lines go out the door at lunchtime through past 2:00 pm. Optimal time to queue for your burrito is prior to 12:00 pm. Menu is slightly different from other Chipotles around town: addition of brown rice, and simplified menu (no fajita option, but fajita vegetables still available). Space is smaller than what you're used to (location squished in between the Starbucks and the Subway). Needs more green Tabasco available; ratio was 8:1 bottles red:green.

Even after reopening, the service is slow and ingredients are stale. This is consistently the worst Chipotle I've ever eaten at.

    (1)
  • Vivian C.

This place ran out of bowls (yes, bowls) last Sat night so that anyone who wanted something besides a burrito, was SOL. Staff is maddeningly slow even by Baltimore standards even during peak hours. Guacamole is often brown, a sign of low turnover and ingredients that are not fresh. Corporate needs to come down hard on this place and figure out what is going on at this location. The issues here are not typical at other Chipotles in the Balto area (the one near Hopkins is much better run). I stopped going to this one because it's dirtier and slower than most of the others.

I have never wished for a Chipotle location to fail as much as this one, but after my experience with their corporate customer service rep, I truly hope this location closes down for the sake of all the other great Chipotle's that I have visited. This location is destroying Chipotle's reputation. I have tried and tried to like this Chipotle location. I tried to be more patient than an enthusiastic music teacher, but each time I go here the service/food/experience seems to get worse. I went here a month ago because I love Chipotle (but not this location) and I was the second person (and only other person) in line yet somehow the hipster/ghetto/weirdo employees' apathy created a very long line behind me out of nothing. As usual, this location was out of staples on the line, like chicken. And I had to wait for probably 5 minutes as the line waiting ballooned. Further wasting my time was the employee who put very small portions in my chicken burrito yet managed to rip the burrito twice, each time losing more portions while dumping the leftovers in the next burrito wrap. After this bad experience, which is the norm at this location, I wrote a long, detailed email to the corporate customer service rep for Chipotle telling of my bad experiences with JUST THIS LOCATION! I even cited the horrible Yelp reviews which unofficially label this Chipotle the worst location in Baltimore (probably in Maryland). The Chipotle rep responded empathatically and then asked for my address so she could send four free burrito cards. Of course, I was elated and I responded to her multiple times with my address but the cards never came. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? This is how customer service is done in bizarro world! (Side note: if I had received the cards, I would've used them at a different location!!!!) I think secretly Chipotle opened this location to see how shitty they can possibly treat customers and serve food before being forced to close. Maybe it's like a test location. I truly hate this location (I've never hated a restaurant or business location before in my life) and I hope it closes immediately so the aggressive drifters and panhandlers outside of this location will also be spared a crappy experience. In conclusion, f*#$ you Midtown-Belvedere Chipotle!

Pretty standard... But on the watery side. Glad I got a salad because it would have soaked through the tortilla. Added salt and it was better. Guacamole was a bit brown. Retrain staff?

Went here a bunch of times when I lived in Baltimore and I never had a bad experience. Its a good, quick and inexpensive meal that you can customize a variety of ways. This probably isn't the best Chipotle in the world but in my experience it isn't a bad place at all.

I was so excited to have a Chipotle open a few blocks from where I live. The cool thing about this Chipotle is that the interior design, while still unmistakably Chipotle, is actually very different in style from the other Chipotles in the area. I didn't see any of the corrugated metal sheets for one. So I thought that was kinda cool. Anyways, the food here is your typical Chipotle. If you've been to one, you've been to them all. I will say that the new menu option of brown rice doesn't taste that good compared to the white. In regards to this particular location....since they opened up recently, they've still got some things to iron out. For one, the servers seemed unsure and almost hesitant to put items on your burrito. My server gently placed a (rather small) spoonful of rice and then tidied it up on my tortilla using his (gloved) hands. Most places would just plop down the rice. So the end result was a small burrito (at least compared to the Chipotles in Charles Village and Inner Harbor). I also had some issues with my gift card working. But it was taken care of :) To be fair, they did open maybe a week ago, so they're still working on the learning curve. And all the workers seemed really nice. I'm sure it'll get better over time... but till then, 3 stars!

This is one of the worst chipotle restaurants I have ever been to, and trust me, I've been to plenty. The food itself is just fine. I don't have an issue with the food; my issue is with the staff. Most of the staff are rude, lazy, and would rather be somewhere else. I don't blame them, but that's their choice to work at a chipotle. Ten percent of the staff are friendly but the rest ruin it for everyone. The staff that serves the food are usually having their own personal conversations behind the counter. I also always feel like you have to shout your order down the line, and it's not pleasant. The music is always TOO LOUD. The customers that frequent this establishment are also a problem. Everyone wants extra this, double that, put this on the side. This is a FAST FOOD shop, not the FOUR SEASONS! There are so many complaints about this location and nothing has ever been done since they opened. Same workers, same attitude, and nothing will change. They're lucky they don't have more competition. Lack of competition is what keeps them in business. The whole place is ghetto. Period.

  • Ezekiel D.

Very disappointed in this location. The fare is, of course, typical chipotle. But the service leaves much to be desired. We have been there a couple of times, so this not just an isolated incident. As posted earlier, the servers are very timid in their preparation, which means that you will get a smaller burrito if you are not paying attention. Also, they don't seem to be able to properly fold the burritos, leaving you with a burrito blob that is fairly difficult to eat. Finally, on our last two visits our food was cold. Not "I got too much salsa so everything has cooled off a bit", just not warm from the get-go. I like chipotle in general, just not this location.

  • Kate S.

Yup. WORST. CHIPOTLE. EVER. I love Chipotle as a franchise. I have been to the first Chipotle that ever opened. I'm proud that Chipotle started in my hometown. Therefore, as a loyal fan this Chipotle location is mortifying. The staff act like they have no clue how to make any of the items on the menu. They all look like they don't know how they got there or what they're doing. When you watch them make your food you wonder if you've slipped into a slow-motion film. They take their good sweet time, often idly chatting with one another and prioritizing their laughing conversations over serving the customers. I won't begrudge someone their right to have fun at work, as long as they're doing their job. These folks are VERY poorly managed. The restaurant is always filthy, crumbs and trash everywhere. And the food itself is a shadow of the great food normally served by Chipotle. On one of my many visits there (I go often because it's one of the only cheap options for students in the area), my friend remarked that she'd never felt the need for salt and pepper at a Chipotle before, but the food was so bland and tasteless, she needed to season it herself. Shouldn't salsa be, oh, I don't know...SPICY? People I know have been sickened by the food here. I can testify to this location's inability to prepare a burrito without ripping the tortilla. I see it every time I go, even though I always order bowls or tacos. Can't a decent manager hire some decent workers and train them to make people's burritos correctly without handing over soggy, falling-apart messes? I don't think that's too much to ask of the almighty Chipotle. And yes, the homeless people who constantly accost you right outside the door are an added Charm City charm that ices the Crap Cake. I wish this Chipotle weren't so darn convenient, and I wish there were more inexpensive options for meals in the area, since most of Charles street is filled with pricey fancy Indian joints. Chipotle, you need to shut this location down and start over. It looks like you already tried that once. Well, let me tell you, the changes didn't stick. Try again, or open somewhere else in downtown Baltimore and give up the ghost. This place sucks.

  • Mark Z.

Worst Chipotle Ever! It was my fifth time visiting this location, and all five times they have had something major they were out of (steak, rice, chicken, etc.) and it causes havoc. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Chipotle, but this location is poorly managed. I've been to literally dozens of Chipotle restaurants around the country, many much busier and with lines out the door, and this has consistently fallen short of those high standards set by other locations. The amount of time you will spend waiting on your meal to be prepared here, just go to the Canton or Towson location - it will save you time.

Same as other Chipotles and wonderful to have in our neighborhood! YES!

  • Brad M.

This chipotle location is one of the worst (maybe ties for that exciting title) that I've been to out of maybe 15 (and 50+ visits) around the country. I think Steve Ells (chipotle founder) would be terrified if he saw this location in person. When I walked in on a hot Wednesday night, I couldn't wait for the chilling Chipotle air to wash over me. What did I get? A sauna that was even hotter than it was outside. I could have left since obviously the A/C was broken, so I'm not basing my review on that factor. What I WILL base my review on is the most unfriendly and uninterested staff I've ever seen and the most soupy burrito I've ever had. I waited for probably 3-4 minutes, with not a single person in line, until someone decided to meander over to take our order ( saw this replicated to a later customer). Servers were there, but much too busy having a nice conversation to be bothered by customers. I politely placed my order, which I had to repeat a second time since she wasn't paying attention the first time. When I asked for black beans, she slopped on half bean-juice and half beans (hence the aforementioned "soupy burrito"). The salsa server/burrito wrapper noticed juice was draining out of the burrito when she wrapped it up. Instead of remaking it, she got another foil to wrap it up...as if I wasn't there seeing what was going on. Maybe she skipped science class and didn't know foil isn't absorbent? So why even the second star? They were generous with portions and the ingredients tasted normal. From start to finish, we did not see a single smile from the staff, a single thank you, or a single apology for the heat of the restaurant. Some things you can't control, but employee's attitudes to paying customers and their service is. Sorry Charles Street chipotle, you set the bar too low.

    (2)
  • Taylor C.

This is your classic Chipotle... enough said! When I go the line is almost always out the door. The staff is friendly, generous with portion, and quick. You can get your burrito bowl and be out the door within 2 min. Location is great near Penn Station and the circulator. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews of this location. Honestly I think this gives you some of the best value for your money in Mt. Vernon.

Things this Chipotle ran out of: hard taco shells, brown rice, veggies, corn salsa, ice, and water. There were, however, plenty of screaming babies and pissed off employees. Never again! (I wrote this review a month before actually posting it, sorry! I hear this Chipotle is closed now. Good!)

This is not an indictment on Chipotle, but this particular store. On a corporate level, Chipotle is very great about addressing franchise issues. However, this store is consistently the worst! The customer service is poor, the employees seem apathetic, and the ingredients at times don't appear fresh. My biggest complaint about this outlet is the online ordering - they refuse to fix the order until you arrive at the store (so regardless of what the online system says, your food will NOT be ready for you when you arrive). I have attempted to address this with management/corporate before, to no avail. Additionally, they consistently have an issue with you heading straight to the cash register to pick up your order which, once again, is what the website says is a part of the online ordering service! If you come to pick up your online order, you are expected to wait until they have fixed the order of everyone in line before they will fix your order. If you must have Chipotle, and don't mind the general terrible service received at this store, just DO NOT use the online ordering service. It is a waste of your time and patience.

Like many others have posted - I love Chipotle, but this location is awful. The worst Chipotle I've ever been to. Perhaps get a bowl instead of a burrito. Your burrito will ALWAYS be torn and messy. Also the proportion of ingredients will be way off, and poorly blended/mixed. Large sections of only beans, followed by huge chunks of meat, followed by a massive wad of sour cream and guac? It's almost inedible. Also the quality of ingredients seems somehow off at this location, and they're remarkably slow. I've stood in line (not a praticularly long one even) for 5-10 minutes, regularly, without moving. I've also watched the employees thoroughly baffled and derailed while trying to fill an online order - at the expense of everyone else in line.

So great having my favorite faux Mexican food place minutes away from my apartment. It's Chipotle, this one usually doesn't have much of a line, the workers are nice, and I get my tasty burritos. Everyone wins.

Went for a burrito last week, waited in line, and then......was told, "Our burrito press is broken so all we have are bowls." Seriously!?....you can think of NO other method to soften a tortilla? You are a burrito place right?....unbelievable!

Found a nail clipping in my bowl and got a very rude and unhelpful response when I tried to complain- was told "no one here has nails and if you have a problem come down here and talk to the manager." (I had to call since I got it to go). I called again and asked for the manager. I submitted an online complaint form for the customer service department..hopefully they will investigate and make sure that food safety procedures are being followed at this location which is infamous for poor service.

I am so excited for a Charles St location, under a half a mile to a Chipotle! It's a new one, just opening in December, so I am sure it will change a little overtime, but so far it was another great example of Chipotle, which feels like you can't go wrong when it comes to the fancier fast food options. The staff seemed nice. On Friday night, the restaurant was pretty crowded. We were able to grab a seat, but I am not sure how much of this was attributed to being newly open. Charles St area can be pretty crowded at times though, and it sits right next to a Purple Route Circulator stop. Chipotle knows how to get it done, that is really the bottom line, and if you haven't been to one...get to it fast. If your significant other has never heard of it...maybe it's time to see other people!

Although I was excited for a new Chipotle near my school (University of Baltimore). After not going to the opening, because it was entirely took crowded I decided to just go a week later with some friends. While ordering my burrito the servers were completely rude. Continuing to talk to each other and have conversations while "attempting" to make my burrito. I had to repeat about three times the condiments I wanted on my burrito, because two of the servers were constantly talking over my food. As the lady tried to wrap my burrito l noticed it was starting to fall apart. She started to complain that my burrito was "too big". But I had a vegetarian burrito, no meat, and no fajitas were in my tortilla. I asked for a new tortilla to put my condiments in , because my burrito was falling apart. Not only did the lady server give me an attitude she was mad that I wanted a new TORTILLA, not a new burrito a new tortilla. After temper tantrum, my friend and I told the cashier we did not want our food. The cashier was hesitant on giving us back our money. The manager finally came from her seat of interviewing people, (yes she was interviewing people) to figure out what the dilemma was. We told her the lady server was absolutely rude, and we were dissatisfied with our food. We got our money back, and the manager told us she was very sorry, she was going to talk to the server, and was also offering us free food to compensate the food that was made poorly. My friends and I declined. We called corporate soon after, and corporate is getting in contact with the district manager of that location. We are also getting free meal cards. Don't waste your time going there. That has to be the smallest chipotle I have ever been to. The workers are horrible, and the management is poor. That new location just opened up a week ago, and already they are replacing workers. That shows how horrible the servers are. Please do not waste your time going there. The lines are incredibly toooo long, You are better off enjoying a nice warm sub from subway. Or catching the light rail to Hunt Valley or going to Charles Village and enjoying your nice warm burrito or tasty burrito bowl.
