I made the mistake of calling ahead to make reservations but they said it wasn't needed and to just come on in. When we walked in we saw why because it's literally 4 tables. Oh goodness was it good though! The boy serving us was about 12 but i really appreciated his work ethic since I too helped with my families business from a young age. He was helpful and attentive to us. Thanks to him we enjoyed everything! Definitely a great choice!

I got the shrimp and grits here. The grits were runny and wasn't all that great. No bacon either!!!!

I just came here for dinner and it was really good! They were short staffed so didn't have the platters but they had the chicken and waffles available which was the most important part! Waffle was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The chicken pieces were crunchy and the meat itself was really moist. Really, really good! They serve it with hot sauce and maple syrup, and little containers of margarine (would have preferred butter). Overall, great place! They were a bit slow in business so closed around 7:45pm so make sure you call if you're getting there right around closing time.

Chicken was amazing. I had the chicken and waffles with Baltimore sauce. The chicken was very lightly breaded and perfectly crispy as it should be. Boneless "wings" we're juicy and packed with meat. The waffle did not quite meet my expectations but that may have been because I was distracted with the chicken. Can't wait to go back and try the other sauces. Probably will skip the waffle next time and get more chicken!

For my first time here I choose the 3-piece chicken and waffles entree. I'm not a chicken and waffle connoisseur or anything but I found it so-so. Not bad or dry, just not what I expected from the other reviews. The place is small so you may have to stand around to wait for your food. Gonna go for the shrimp and grits next time.

Great place!! The half regular half red velvet waffle was amazing!!! We also tried the shrimp and grits which was delightful. We def plan on coming back for more!!!

I know chicken and waffles isn't exactly a food to be snobby about, but after eating here I am. No other chicken and waffles will do! The chicken has amazing flavor and it's boneless, so it takes less time to stuff in my face. This is a reliable, low-maintenance Baltimore staple.

Ordered the 3 piece chicken and waffles and also an order of fried shrimp with a lotta sides. The chicken and waffle was delicious, the chicken was kind of bland but the waffles was soft, fluffy and light. Just right. Poured a little syrup and some hot sauce and it was on. Heaven. The fried shrimp was a little salty. The sides included rice pilaf, corn, potatoes and broccoli. This is a good size meal and it is fairly priced, $10. Looking for good southern comfort food, this is the place. Don't miss out if you're in Baltimore. Can't wait to come back.

Seriously Awesome!! Came here before an O's game for brunch when we were looking for something a little different than the local bars. The table was hungry so we ordered the mellow yellow wings and the suicide wings. Both were delicious!! The suicide were standout in that they had amazing flavor and the spice stood out, but wasn't killer. My brother and I split the chicken and waffles & the shrimp and waffles. The shrimp was super yum, perfectly spiced and grilled. The waffle by itself was light and exactly what I would expect from a place with "waffles" in the name. There was something pretty stellar in combining a bite of the chicken with a bite of waffle with some of the hot sauce on the table and some syrup. Starting to drool a little just thinking about it. Our service was also top notch. Our service was a young relative of the owner (who seriously had the best handwriting I have seen in a long time!) and he was attentive and working hard. I respect his work ethic and general aura of awesome. Can't wait to come again before another game!

Holy cow! I mean chicken. Yes, holy chicken. Delicious and crispy. It was my first time here and certainly won't be the last. The service was great. Our waiter was the owner's young nephew and he was awesome. Our food was brought out fairly quickly and he also explained the menu in great fashion. The food was spot on. The original waffle was one of the best I've had in a long time. Mix the chicken with the waffle, syrup and hot sauce that's on the table. Perfect. The wings are also tasty as well. We had the mellow yellow (tangy mango) and the suicide. The mellow yellow was a good mustard mango flavor. The suicide was spicy and flavorful, but not overkill. Will definitely go here again before orioles games.

Tip: Don't bother calling the business, they don't pick up!! I've called a few times since the beginning of last month trying to place a order for carry-out. The phone # listed on Yelp matches the # on the menu & in store though. I finally ended up walking to the business to order the famous chicken & waffles. It took 5 mins to get my order. If you're not a big fan of heavy breading, then you'll definitely enjoy the fried chicken! The chicken is moist, crispy, and lightly breaded....just right. I am definitely a fan, I'll be back to try the red velvet waffles and platters. My dog is also a fan, he can't stop begging for more chicken & waffles!

We came from Philadelphia for a Medical Convention and the end of the event a couple of our friends were looking for a good place to eat. We stumbled upon this hidden gem. As we entered, I can honestly say that it looked homey. We had Chanel, who was an absolute amazing young lady, she explained the menu to us and we ordered a custom Jerk salmon over rice with grilled chicken and crab cake on the side.. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!! The food was cooked to perfection and the sides were amazing. She also brought us some homemade sauce and it really complimented the food. All in all definitely coming back !!

Paid a visit to Charm on my last 2 visits to B'more and I will most assuredly be back upon my next visit. Yum! This place is the ultimate embodiment of savory and sweet! Prior to visiting B'more for the first time for work, I had never even heard of such a theme, but I have now come to learn it is a bit of a local comfort food, and for very good reason. If it sounds like a strange combination, I can assure you it is far better than you would expect. On both of my visits the large, Belgian style waffles were piping hot with a tab of butter melting over the top, and piled generously with equal parts of fresh strawberries and blueberries. 3 hot wings (more like chicken tenders really) dotted the exterior and I dug in ravenously. This place is the spawn of Satan if you are trying to watch what you are eating, but it is worth an extra half hour of cardio because it is so delicious. I am a much more infrequent visitor the the greater Baltimore area lately, and that is probably a good thing for my waistline. I do not think I have the willpower to resist this place.

The chicken and waffles were GREAT!!! When a little kid is humming and dancing with his food then you know it's good - not only was my toddler humming, he and I did a duet. The shrimp and waffles were even better - they were toe tappin', humming good.

The food is what keeps me coming back here. The chicken and waffles always has crisp, moist well-seasoned chicken and thick fluffy waffles. The various flavors of wings are always pretty good, and I really like the different platters that you can get with either chicken, fish or shrimp along with corn on the cob and a mix of vegetables with potatoes. The food here is consistent and I have never been disappointed. But it is the service that keeps me from back more often. There have been times when the restaurant is supposed to be open according to their posted hours, but has been closed. It is not uncommon to try and call in an order and have the phone just ring and ring. And even when you can get someone on the phone, more often than not, your order is not ready when you arrive. The last time we ordered ahead, the woman at the counter did not even send our order to the back until after we had arrived to pick it up.

I'll give this place a 3.5. When I saw that there was a 4.5 rated chicken and waffle place in bmore, i was super excited!! So my friend and I hit this place up for brunch on a sunday. However, I was a bit disappointed. I got the red velvet waffle and 5 piece chicken. The waffle was a little dry. The chicken was pretty good, but it was boneless tenders, which is usually drier than full chicken wings (with bones). The price was also little high for what I got. the service was chill and nice though. Overall, it was a pretty good meal, but the waffles and chicken were a bit dry. DISCLAIMER: i ate at roscoe's chicken and waffles in LA this past summer and that was AMAZING so..... .... maybe this place is a 4.5 for the east coast, but definitely not on the west coast. I would like to come back to try some other things though.

Food was great Service was Excellent and prompt. I only would recommend asking for my waffle to be cooked harder but other than that the 5 pieces of chicken were fried to my liking. Fried hard and fresh!!!

Called in an Order, was told food would be ready in 20 minutes, and still had to wait for my food when I got there. They were receiving a bunch of product so I was patient. Food was outstanding. I got the Chicken and Waffles, and the Grilled Chicken Platter. Great crunchy Chicken and Crispy waffle. Delicious Buttery Corn and Rice was seasoned very well, without being overly salty. Definitely going back to try the Red Velvet Chicken and Waffle.

We popped in here on a Sunday afternoon and had chicken and waffles, strawberry waffles and shrimp and grits. My husband loved the chicken and waffles, my daughter liked the strawberry waffles...though she thought the waffles were a little spongy/chewy, and I LOVED my shrimp and grits. We were waited on by a young man that was very attentive and very polite. I was so impressed by him I left him a healthy tip.

Only giving 4 stars because they didn't have the meal I originally decided on after debating on it for 5 mins.....scared to try the chicken & waffles, I went with the Salmon cake platter. My immediate reaction was "Yessss hunty!" My boyfriend got a fried chicken platter. He is not even talking. He just gave a thumbs up!" And its amazing how the food looks JUST LIKE THE PICTURES! Lol. Yes yes yes! Great portion for the price too. Pretty jazzy food spot if I may say so myself. The concept of chicken & waffles escapes me, but by the taste of what I ordered today, I am definitely thinking of giving it a try! Whoa whoa whoa let me just update this review: The broccoli is bananas! Lol. Like any human being who is hungry, I went straight in for the meat. But I promise you, I really could have started with broccoli! DELICIOUS! Yes!!!

Came in with 45 minutes left in service very limited service only chicken and waffles OK great. Order meal. What I got was not expected. We asked if we can eat here the young lady at the counter said yes. We were seated at a table we thought was clean. Shame on you for expecting a clean table this time of night. We get off in 40 minutes. So recap no wings, dirty table, chairs up. Set up for big disappointed. Chicken bites on top of a powered waffle. My wife likes here to have been more cooked. It was too soft for her. The chicken were a half of a chicken tender. They were moist tasty but small. I enjoy them as did my son. The place was cold. Staff was in the process of closing down the place when we stopped by. They put up all the chairs on the table and it was not even 7:30 pm. We thought it was closed but the neon sign said open. Parking was trouble but luck up with a space right in front. Awesome. Overall had we gotten their a little bit more earlier in the day I feel the staff would have cared more and the food quality would have been higher. I am willing to give this place another shot because they are trying but this outing was just average. Go back in the kitchen this time do it right. As we left the staff followed us out. It was not 8 pm yet they were supposed to be open till 8 pm. I don't know about you but if one of chef Gordon Ramsay`s restaurants close early he would be kicking some ass right about now.

I like this place. So much that I came three times in one week (only ate twice because it was closed on Monday). A good lunch or quick meal spot. The waffles melt in your mouth. I had the three piece chicken meal with the red velvet waffle. WONDERFUL.The Mello yellow (mango sauce) on the chicken really hit the spot and so does the half and half. The service is great also!

Earlier this week, I stepped into the office and my nose was immediately greeted by what I closely guessed to be Blueberry Waffles...My coworker gave me a menu for the next restaurant to try on my bucket list "Charm City Chicken and Waffles"...the best compliment one can give is "word of mouth". Today I added another notch onto my list of favs! I had the shrimp and grits and the 3 piece chicken and waffle meal. I was expecting rain and me and my +1 needed food, so I threw some sweats and a hat on and called my order in. I got there 5 minutes after placing my order, so I had a short wait which I didn't mind at alllllll...... It was a Saturday, so I was treated to a complimentary assortment of wine and slices of cake!! I got home and tasted some of the best chicken and waffles I have ever had the pleasure of tasting!! The chicken was well seasoned and the waffles was sooo flavorful!! The shrimp in my grits were really good, but my grits could've used a little "umphh"! I like my shrimp and grits spicy, the grits were a tad bland for me. Overall, I would definitely go back!! I wish I would have opted for the 5 piece chicken and waffle!!

My Dad picked up carryout for our family. Even after the 30min drive, everything was fresh and delicious. My grilled shrimp salad was a little on the small side but the veggies were fresh and the shrimp had great flavor. I sampled my little person's waffle and fried chicken. Both were very tasty. The rice is really salty but otherwise we enjoyed our dinner.

I would give three and a half stars because the food is actually really good. They don't serve wings. They serve breast bites. Again. Good. Flavorful. Good sauces and whatnot. But with "wings" in the business title, I expect wings. Tangent: As a wing elitist, I am bothered by the term "boneless wings"... Why be wack? You're eating smothered tenders. The plain waffle was very good, soft and moist. Service was okay. But. I. Expected. Wings. They have wings in the business name, and a picture of wings in their logo. Yet, they don't serve wings. This is akin to going to a baseball stadium, and there is a football game happening. Okay, perhaps I enjoy the sport, but I expected to watch something else.

Came here with a friend, because she said she wanted fried chicken. I looked at all the fried chicken joints on Yelp in the Bmore area, and found this little nugget. I ordered the fried chicken & waffles, and she ordered the fried chicken platter. She shared with me her meal, and it was very good. She enjoyed her meal. I enjoyed my meal. The lady behind the counter was very nice and attentive, and asked us multiple times if there was anything we needed. Highly recommend, and will try again.

The chicken was a little too salty for my preference but overall everything was good. The service was very nice and they have a wide verity of items on the menu, not just chicken and waffles. The portions are healthy and if you're going for brunch and want coffee stop by the Java House one block up, they support that business as well and don't mind if you bring coffee in which I thought to be a nice touch as they are supporting one another's local business. I will definitely be back to try the seafood items!

This is a GREAT black owned spot that you MUST visit! I visited this spot two nights in a row...that's how delicious it was. The first night I got the salmon platter which came with salmon (grilled to perfection), yellow rice, broccoli, red potatoes and corn in a garlic butter sauce and I also couldn't resist getting a waffle. The food was great and the service was pleasant. This evening I opted for the fried shrimp platter which came with the sides mentioned above. My friend got the fried chicken platter which she also loved. There were also patrons dining in who all seemed to be enjoying their meals. I'll definitely be returning over the weekend to get the shrimp and grits and free wine and cupcakes :)

It was great service! The food was fresh and delicious. The environment was welcoming and the music set a smooth mood. This was the first time I've been here. I only moved to Maryland 5 months ago and I'm always trying to find quality places to eat and this is indeed 1 of them. I strongly recommend you try it.

I got red velvet waffles and chicken. The waffle was good and the chicken was AMAZING. The service was also great. They were super helpful in helping me decide what to get and my food was ready fairly quickly. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in Baltimore.

Visited Charm City on a Sunday afternoon and was highly disappointed. Went for the signature "Chicken & Waffles" but eh, I've experienced better in other soul food spots around Baltimore. For $6.99, I received three chicken tenders and a bland waffle. Nothing to write home about, but I suppose if you've never had this southern delicacy, then I guess you'll enjoy. Don't plan on visiting again.

This place is truly a hidden gem! Did some research on yelp and a lot of yelpers recommend this restaurant for chicken and waffles! Once again, you guys know the best! Fresh fried chicken and great waffles! When I came in, the owner was there and I spoke to him about his restaruant, they're opening another location in Baltimore! For sure I recommend this place as well! Very reasonable price! Street parking!

Sometimes I have so much trouble deciding between three and four stars. I rarely give out five, unless it's the most amazing thing ever. But three seems almost like a negative. So here we are with another four-star. This was somehow my first time having real chicken and waffles. I've never been able to justify the price to try something I wasn't sure I cared that much to try. Enter Charm City Wings & Waffles, where the price is right! My boyfriend and I ordered one five-piece chicken & waffles plus an extra waffle order, and it was more than enough food! I love that they don't charge you anything extra for the red velvet waffles. THE RED VELVET WAFFLES ARE TO DIE FOR. Soooooo soooo very good. The chicken was a little bit salty, but I thought the two went pretty well together. If (when?) I return, I may just go for the waffle and a fruit topping, but I am really glad I tried it and am interested to go on and try chicken & waffles from other places. I like the pairing, but don't know that I find it necessary. Sometimes a girl just wants a waffle! The prices are great, but it is true what others said about the hours. We excitedly showed up here around 11:15 (supposed to open at 11) because we had somewhere we had to be at 1:00. They weren't open, we tried calling, no answer. We went back to the car, sat in despair wondering what to do now, and then, a few minutes later we drove by and they were open. So we parked again and headed in. It was a Saturday, but no sign of this supposed self-serve wine. Wasn't a huge disappointment for us, but I wouldn't go there counting on it.

When I first started this blog ( epiphanyinbmore.blogspot… ), I had this idea that I would occasionally write about the places around Baltimore I enjoyed frequenting, or new places I discovered. I haven't done that much at all yet, but today was inspired, because I discovered a new little takeout place that I wanted to share. Charm City Wings and Waffles is a Pigtown-located gem of a takeout restaurant. Located at 807 Washington Blvd., the street side location near Ravens Stadium features about 6 green tables and an amiable and precocious 12-year old working behind the counter. After he took our order -- shouting them out to a "Chef D" in the back -- an older gentleman rang us up, and the food -- as well as our Diet Coke and Half and Half ---was out in the span of 5 minutes. The red velvet pancake I ordered the Salmon Platter, served over Yellow Rice Pilaf with broccoli, potatoes, and corn on the cob. The salmon and rice was outstanding; the salmon itself was seasoned and grilled with a hint of Cajun, and the spice was perfect not to dry it out; it was moist and flavorful throughout. The complement of the yellow rice was perfect. The combination of the broccoli and potatoes with the corn on the cob was a little less enthralling, but getting vegetables in Maryland in February is probably a little tough; these were all drenched in butter and probably would have been better with a little bit of breathing room. But the salmon was so superb that it didn't matter; it would have been a meal in and of itself with just the salmon and rice. The Salmon Platter over Rice Pilaf, with corn, broccoli, and potatoes. But this was only the start. I saved the best part -- the red velvet waffle -- for dessert. If you go to a place with "waffle" in its title, you've got to try a waffle, and a sign behind the counter proudly proclaimed "Home of the Red Velvet Waffle." So I got one. And it melted in my mouth. Rich and creamy but not overly sweet (at least for this sweet tooth), the waffle was as decadent you'd expect a red velvet waffle to be. My partner went for the traditional chicken and waffles. I tried some of his chicken, boneless and fried, with just a hint of breading. Now, I'm no fried chicken aficionado; in fact, this was my first fried chicken since probably 1995. This step along my foray out of strict vegetarianism was a worthwhile one; the chicken was incredibly tasty, salty and crispy and perfectly seasoned. Despite me liking the salmon so much (and that was some of the best salmon I've ever had a restaurant, seriously), I might go for the traditional chicken and waffles next time as well. Our charming 12-year old host came over a couple of times to check on us, and we talked high schools, but he was most interested in making sure we had a good dining experience. And we certainly did. We'll be back.

I wandered over to this place while making an exploratory stop to Nick's Rotisserie. I saw open doors and the sign and tried to look it up on Yelp but realized the business wasn't listed so I added it and promptly went inside and went to check out the goods (or possibly bads). I saw the staff was fairly young in age (yall know how I feel about that) but surprisingly they were very pleasant and quick to provide me with all the details about the menu items, of which there was a nice variety! Yayy Youth! The environment itself was welcoming and in addition to the booths there, I was fond of the stools seated at the counter. It gives you the feel of an old time (small) diner with a slightly modern upgrade. There were several TVs positioned so that no matter where you sat, you'd have a view (which worked out for the patrons there that day because the O's game was on). I'd rate them as medium price wise and I'd cosign with myself based on the size of the chicken pieces I received with my waffle since they weren't that big. If I had to make suggestions, I would first suggest they get more side items. The one side they had to go with their entrees was a mix of potatoes, broccoli and..and..I can't remember what else. After they said the devil (broccoli) I promptly gagged and said nevermind. You need more than one side on your menu folks, otherwise how can sane-minded people like me that don't eat broccoli ever enjoy an entree purchase? I'd also suggest they do something about the slight tint on their store windows. When I walked past this store recently, the doors were closed and I had to stop and peek through the windows to see the lights inside. You can't get business if people think you're closed right? I plan to visit in another month or so as I'm excited to see what changes this new business may have made. I do hope once they're off their feet that they do a better job with advertising. Unless you live in Pigtown, you wouldn't have heard of this spot and that could very well be a shame depending on if this store works out the minor kinks that could boost it to a 5-star whoa nelly rated business (in my book anyway).

The best pound cake I've ever had! Great food, really friendly atmosphere. I tried the shrimp & grits, chicken & waffles, and chicken wings. Go with your friends so you can sample everyone's dish.

I went in with high expectations and they were met! I ordered the 3 piece chicken and waffles with strawberries while my husband had the five piece. Strawberries were fresh and so was the chicken and the waffles. I had a terrible experience of Chicken and Waffles at The Shoo-Fly Diner up in Belvedere Square last week so I had a hankering for a classic and correct Chicken and Waffles I've had so many times down south in Charleston, SC. The people behind the the counter were polite and food came out in a timely manner. It will definitely become a regular spot and have been talking about it to all my friends.

I was in Baltimore on business on 11/1/14 and was looking for a place to have lunch. Found Charm City, because my contractor wanted chicken. When I saw Chicken and Waffles, I thought lets do it! Found the place, which was not far from where my business was. When I first saw it I thought typical...and it was as far as the set up. But what was not typical was the food. I must say the food was delicious. The Chicken was cooked damn near perfect and the waffles were tasty. I had the fiend chick but my contractor has grilled chicken. The fact they offered grill chicken and that it was done well was impressive. So, if you are looking for a great lunch the i would recommend Charm City Wings & Waffles. I not only recommend it, I look forward going back. Oh, and the staff was friendly!! I should say I gave it 4 stars simply because of how well the food was prepared.

I never had chicken and waffles before. Always thought it was a weird combo. However, after eating at Charm City in Bmore I'm sold. I ordered their regular 5 piece combo. The 5 Piece is plenty for one person. Maybe overkill for some. Although the waffle was great I don't think it's hard to get a regular waffle right. But their chicken on the other hand, is slamtastic! Perfect blend of spices, breading, and cooked perfectly. Chicken stayed hot throughout my meal as well as juicy juice juice! Only knock I have on the place is it's location. It's in a somewhat hood area in Baltimore. May not be an area where some people would feel comfortable eating. Lucky for me I grew up in Brooklyn NY so it wasn't hood enough for me to not try maybe the best chicken on the east coast!

This place is a hidden gem. The wings were good (and spicy). My favorite was the charm city. Good sides of corn and broccoli as well. The down side is that we went for dinner and they were sold out of a lot of things by then. Specifically the red velvet waffles and the potatoes. Now I have a reason to return.

first thing first customer service was amazing! the boys there were a big help. food was good but I would prefer if they had wings instead of strips and more seasoning on strips. waffles were good. my bf had waffle and eggs and he said eggs tasted funny..idk but I did not try so I don't know but we will go back. they also had free cake and wine.. (two weeks ago on a Saturday)

One moment please - I'm still drooling... Alright - let's just get down to business here. I went Sunday morning with my mom, I wanted breakfast food her and my grandma had to drive back to Jersey so they wanted lunch food. I opened the door to this location and the most heavenly aromatic scent of Belgian waffles with melted butter (yes, I could smell the melted butter, don't hate) ever so delicately floated into my nostrils!!! I was sold before I got to the counter! Now - can we talk about customer service?! These have to be the two friendliest people I have ever encountered in this neighborhood (and yes I live here!). I don't think my foot even touched the floor yet and this really nice woman behind the counter was greeting us with the most genuine heart-felt good morning I've heard in a long time. She provided us with menus and even engaged in sincere friendly conversation with us! ((Thank you Pig Town - I think you might have a shot here!)) Our order: ME: Belgian Waffle (which I had been craving for about 3 weeks) with 3 wings. I give it 5 stars. Granted, you can NOT mess up a waffle (if you do- you shouldn't be in business) but the big ol' heap of yummy melted butter slowly flowing into every nook and cranny of that waffle..... mmmmmmmm..... and the powdered sugar!! mmmmmm.... My inner big girl was ecstatic! I deVOURED that thing! I couldn't eat the wings after inhaling the waffle, so I heated it up later that evening - (((drools)))... It was a little salty for me - but that's because I don't cook with salt at all, but it was still absolutely delicious!! Oh - and wait - it wasn't a real wing! It was like a chicken breast cut in a triangle or something - IDK but there was no bone in it, which I certainly didn't mind, because I ate that bad boy with no problem! MOM: Lemon pepper wings - I had one just to taste - THE YUMNESS!! It was lemony and peppery but not too much of either! My mom usually eats only about 3 wings - she ate more than half of her order of 10! GRANDMA: We ordered her grilled chicken with veggies (broccoli, potatoes, and corn) - I didn't taste the chicken, but I did have some of the broccoli, and even though the veggies weren't cooked (to me) with salt, they were very deliciously seasoned! My grandma wouldn't stop talking about how good it was! Even when I called her later that night she was bragging about how good her left overs were and what a great dinner it made. Yes - you need to support this establishment for the sake of your tummy!

I wish everyone in the city could eat here! The food was simple, but done perfectly. Its Wings and Waffles the way you want them to be. I MUST MENTION the delightful table service we received. By far the BEST server in the city works here. If anyone who thinks they are a decent waiter/waitress wants to see how its done. Brandon the young man who waited on us was impeccable. By far the BEST service this city has to offer. =]

The food looks great and I have yet to go to the restaurant-but I was highly upset that I called to place a carryout order, and the young lady who answered the phone asked me to come in because they were "too busy to take the order." The most well established businesses even in Fells who are far more busy NEVER tell a client they cant take a take out order---really?

I like this place. The food is tasty and made to order. I especially like to support Black business!!

First of all. Saturdays, they serve free wine. No joke ..check out my picture. Unbelievable huh. Somethings fishy here...but I won't ask questions. My friends and I walk in around noonish. There are a few customers inside, couple walking in and out with to go items. the inside is pretty clean, the back kitchen looks clean as well. It's a small but cozy little place. The cashier (possibly a manager, owner) was very nice. She said the place opened in March. This is a scary time for any restaurant. Restaurants in general are very difficult to run, and the first year especially is a battle. For my group of 3, I ordered to 5 piece chicken and waffles (1 big waffle w/powdered sugar, butter, 5 pieces of chicken breast cut up and fried with a side of syrup and blue cheese or ranch) ($8.99) And the side order..it comes in a trio of half a corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes and broc, all seasoned with old bay or some sort of maryland seasoning. I am a chicken and waffles connoisseur. I always try to find good chicken and waffles wherever I go. I haven't had the big names like Roscoes or LoLos but i'm pretty sure i've had the best chicken and waffles in the world back in Portland. Chicken and waffles are actually teeters between a complex and simple dish. Many people can't get the balance right. The secret is that, the chicken has to have special seasoning. It can't simply be some fried chicken with salt and pepper. It has to have that special UMPH. It also has to be moist obviously. This salty, savory oily flavor has to contrast with the slightly sweet waffle. And the waffle has to be crispy on the outer crust, and slightly fluffy but not too fluffy. The chicken and waffles here: Decently moist chicken breast. considering it's breast, and the size is pretty big, I was surprised at the moisture. It wasn't ridiculous, but it was good. The seasoning though was a slight disappointment. It's just a normal fried chicken with salt as the seasoning ..something you think of when I say chicken fingers. It was crispy though. The waffle, was great. not overly crusty, and not overly fluffy. Tt shouldn't over power anything, it should just be there for texture and a slight bready, sweet flavor. It did it's job...it wasn't trying to be a pancake. The combo + some honey mustard + syrup that's key. that hit the spot. For $8.99, the 5 pieces of chicken was probably about 5-6 solid ounces of chicken with a layer of crust and the waffle is a good size. I would be pretty full after I ate the whole thing. I would be fine with a 3 piece chicken and waffles but then the waffle to chicken ratio is thrown off haha...but it would fill me up for about $6ish I believe. The side trio, corn on the cob, potatoes, broc was a disappointment. It's definitely fit for one person but everything was just drenched in too much moisture ..but it was fine ..that's why it's a side I guess. all in all ..a solid 3.5 because though it didn't blow me away, it hit my simple chicken and waffle craving. A 4 just because I believe it has potential, and I want it to do better. I could see this being THE chicken and waffles spot in bmore...a couple changes in their food in it would go over the edge for a cheap nice place to go. I also got a leg and breast from nicks rotisserie, and asked the owner if we could eat that in their restaurant as well and she was completely fine with it. She said that people do it all the time. What a nice place.

I remembered that this place existed after a disappointing day in DC searching for a chicken and doughnut place that hadn't opened yet. Kicked myself immediately after returning to Baltimore for wasting gas instead of heading here first. Who needs a doughnut when you can get a buttery, golden brown waffle and fried chicken tenders cooked to order (about 15-minute wait with about 6 or 7 orders ahead of mine)? Also kicked myself for not asking what kind of waffles they had, which (at the time) seemed like a stupid question. Or, maybe it would have been nice to be asked what kind of waffle I wanted. (I'm just sayin'.) I got a regular waffle, and was scolded by my brother for not ordering a red velvet waffle or a sweet potato waffle. In my defense, I did not see those on the menu. Maybe my frustrated-with-DC-state-of-mind temporarily clouded my normally impeccable vision. Maybe I was hangry. Who knows? He insists that there are pictures of them in the restaurant or on the menu. (It's hard for me to hear when entranced by mouth-watering food.) I insist that one cannot tell the difference between a sweet potato waffle and a regular waffle by picture alone. The argument went on for much longer than an argument about takeout should. The length of an argument is never as important as who won the argument. Ultimately, I did, as I ate my chicken and waffle with all the required Balmer fixins while he watched... Game. Set. Match, dear brother.

I've been here about half a dozen times and need to tell y'all: this is it. The chicken is crisp, hot and boneless. The waffles chewy and not too sweet. Perfect combo. Better than what I've had in Harlem and a go to spot for lunch.

I was looking for a good chicken & waffles place in Baltimore and this one came up on Yelp. Missed it on the first try, but went back and am glad I did. (FYI: it's on the south side of Washington 2 blocks west of MLK). I ordered the 3 piece with an original waffle and quickly received 3 fried, piping hot chicken "wings" (more like fingers since there are no bones) and a golden waffle (lightly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside) with a scoop of butter melting in the center dusted with powdered sugar. Delicious. Other people with me ordered chicken finger platters with rice and vegetables (broccoli and corn on the cob). Great ... just like what we ate in Atlanta ... better actually since the vegetables were really fresh and had a light seasoning that "woke" them up. It's a "look-up-at-the-menu" place with a couple of booths and some tables. They were clean and the dining area was well-kept when we were there. If you eat in (most people were doing carry-out), you pick a table and your food is brought to you. Service was friendly and helpful. And the prices: awesome. This would be a great place to go before or after a ball game. Overall: awesome (and way cheaper than a plane ticket to Atlanta).

After living in the neighborhood for almost 2 years, I've finally had my chance at Charm City Wings and Waffles! I went with the standard 3piece chicken and waffles. While the waffle was all right but nothing spectacular, the fried chicken was really good: flavorful, crispy, not greasy! All in all top notch! Will have to head back to try out the buffalo wings!

The waffles were fresh and chicken was crispy not greasy. The establishment was clean and the staff was friendly. I'd definitely recommend to others.

Grilled chicken and shrimp over rice was seasoned to perfection! Nice of them not to skimp on the chicken or shrimp. The owner helped us pick what we were going to have, very nice, personable touch. He came over to check on us once our meal arrived to see how our meal was. Also took advantage of the "spend $10 get a free red velvet waffle" special. The waffle was the truth! Everything was all very fresh and cooked well. I'll definitely b back.

Oh.My.Goodness. After a few hours of walking around the Baltimore Aquarium with the kids my boyfriend and I decided to stop somewhere close and grab a bite to eat. We found this gem less than 5 minutes away:-) Seeing as though we were all new to the restaurant we decided to get a few things and try it all. My 6 year old daughter got the fried shrimp and french fries. I can't eat shrimp because I'm allergic but her and my boyfriend were fighting over them! ha ha. He said that the slight amount of breading The french fries were perfect! Piping hot with just a little crisp. My boyfriend's son got the Chicken Tenders and Fries. Yum again! Both dishes came with a large amount of food, too! I got the standard waffle and 3 PC. chicken. Presentation wise, it looked awesome! A scoop of fresh butter melting on the golden waffle, proving how warm and fresh it was! I greedily poured the syrup on and took my first bite. DELICIOUS! The chicken and waffle were each perfectly prepared and cooked. Together, they were amazing. Just the right amount of sweet and savory. The last item we purchased to share was 10 piece of Jerk Chicken Wings. I have to say, these were out of this world good! My favorite dish! The wings were just how I like them. Not a lot of breading but a good amount of delicious, spicy sauce. I was mad that we only ordered 10 to share!! The restaurant itself was kept up well. Everything looked brand new and clean. As the other reviewers stated, the employees there are amazing. They really make sure that you have everything you need to enjoy your experience. I'd definitely eat here again! Especially with the free wine on Saturdays;-)

Never the judge or a juror, just a foodie.I think this is one of the worst examples of food fraud I have ever encountered in my life. I would have taken pics of this,....food.....but it may mislead another person, like it did my husband and I.Soul food is a tricky cuisine...when you've had the slap yuh momma meals ......you don't tolerate the slap yourself ........ for going to this joint, soul food. It was misleading on every level....from the price( different on website than in the store $1 more, not bad, just misleading) the portion like a chicken strip ball, that made it dry, the taste, bland, the chicken being hard, fried foods should be crispy, not crunchy, the waffle batter being kept at the wrong temp.( I was a cook for 12 yrs) I can tell by the smell of the waffle, and strong buttermilk like taste, it was out of frig. too long, everything....... though the young lady at the counter was really sweet and cute(personality wise),and the shop was quaint, and clean. Four and a half stars ...WE ARE BAFFLED by this , they even brag on their wall about yelp loving them.....a travesty in cuisine, soul food is about love, and blessed hands. This was a Wednesday night, 3 guests seated no one at the register ordering........ I've been east to west coast eating chicken and waffles, This was not Roscoe's(Cali), Glady's Knight(ATL), Famous Chic and Waff(food truck DC), not even The Waffle House good......... this was aweful, will not ever give them another shot( I wanted to try the red velvet waff..... but........uh no) , Baltimore has too many good places to eat for that, true story.

I stopped in the store this morning before heading to church. It wasn't my first time and surely won't be my last time. I was very clean and welcoming. The food and the service was amazing. If in the area it is a MUST!! Small Business doing big things.

I went on a Saturday morning....the food was amazing. Who knew a waffle and a piece of chicken could be so good. I enjoyed the wine and the overall vibe. The staff was very friendly... and happy... which is something you don't get much of in Baltimore. I will be back....ummmmm this Saturday!!!

This appears to be a great pretty much locals type of place to come and eat. The chicken and waffles with blueberries was completely off the charts delicious. The blueberry seem to provide the perfect contrast for the meal. Food was served quickly and the service was also wonderful great place to come and eat

The service was great. I mean the lady behind the counter and the cook were so sweet and friendly. The food (we ordered 3 pc chicken and waffles) was pretty good. The chicken was good but pretty much basic, not dry but not super juicy or crisp. The waffle was good and also fairly basic. We paid a total of $14 for two 3 pc chicken and waffles and i think that it was fair and the food really wont disappoint if you dont expect anything mind blowing. I would return.

Really this place is a solid 2.5 as in C on a grade scale because it's not great or terrible. It's a solid ALRIGHT, nothing more or less. I've graciously rounded up for the free wine I enjoyed yesterday for their Saturday special :) The staff was awesome...pleasant, attentive, and prompt. The chicken was super dry :/ I'd take Popeye's, KFC, or McDonald's chicken nuggets over these crunchy bites & that's definitely not saying alot. I'd never been happier for the accompaniement of honey mustard in LIFE. Equally dry, was the waffle. The plasticware they gave with my meal didn't stand a chance against that crunch :/ The only saving grace was the heap of butter that softened a small portion of the middle of my waffle. This is a hole in the wall shabby little shack with extremely mediocre eats. Don't be fooled by the reviews in to driving out of your way for sheer mediocrity the way I was.

Okay, so I went with the hopes of getting a pretty good waffle and some chicken, when i got there i decided i would also order a grilled chicken platter for later....Well, that wasn't possible. The server told me they don't usually open on Mondays so that was the reason they didn't have anything Once the employee took my order to the cook, i heard her start talking about what wasn't available--which was everything, except chicken & waffles. So, once i got past that, i waited patiently for my food, it didn't take too long and everything looked great. When i took my debit card out to pay i was informed that there was no one there to ring me up, the guy who runs the register "stepped out for a moment." when i asked if the cashier would be back soon the cook asked me if i was in a rush---seriously? ummmm yea, i wanted to get home to eat!! Because i had to wait, i decided to get some strawberries for my waffle....i was given a tiny container which probably equaled 1.5 strawberries So I waited for a while longer discussed the situation with another customer who told me he absolutely wouldn't be waiting to pay and i agreed. So I told the counter employee that i really didn't want to but i would be leaving w/o paying if the cashier was going to take too long.....i waited a bit longer then left. When i finally got home, the waffle was super soggy where the scoop of butter had melted in one place. Like i said before--there were just a fee strawberry slices for me to add, but they were good berries. The waffle was totally mediocre and absolutely needed syrup due to the lack of taste! The chicken was the only thing i enjoyed!!! It was seasoned pretty well and it was fried hard just like i asked. Im giving 2 stars because the chicken was the only good thing and also because i didn't pay for this ridiculous experience!! Don't go out of your way to eat here, and definitely never go on Monday!!

My coworkers and I were looking for somewhere that serves breakfast on Sunday day games, since our lunch break is at 11am usually. Most places in town that offer Sunday Brunch don't do so on game days, and the rest are closed! Waffles and chicken are half breakfast so we gave it a try. Now this place is the only thing we talk about from Friday-Tuesday. Seating is limited, but the food is so good we don't mind walking out with it if we can't get a seat. The chicken is expertly fried, as one would expect from a place that offers soul food under a moniker of "Wings & Waffles." They offer a Red Velvet waffle at no extra charge, and the folks working there are so kind and personable. One day the owner comes walking out with free banana pudding for everyone! This is the epitome of how to successfully operate a small restaurant. They just opened their second location, so congrats! You've earned it!

Great service, super friendly. We were the first ones there on a Saturday morning and as soon as they found out it was our first time, we were treated like royalty. Food was great, I felt like my chicken was slightly overcooked but my bf disagreed. Waffles were really good and fluffy. They also have non-wings/waffle items on their menu that sound great. I'm definitely coming back here sometime, especially on a Saturday for the free wine! (Yes, another Yelper posted about this and the staff there confirmed they have free wine on Saturday evenings!)

I truly enjoyed my first time visit, motivated by my wife who visited Charm City Waffles and Wings on a Saturday. I dinned on a dish of red velvet waffles and chicken (50/50 fries and grilled). The dish was to Die for. I try to stay away from fried foods as much as I can but, in this case I was not sure of this dish without the chicken being fried. My frame of reference to chicken and waffles is with fried chicken back in my early days at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles in Las Angeles). My future visits will consist of ordering grilled chicken because it was terrific! The service was great. This place is a very casual spot where you can order your food to go, which appeared to be what most folks did. However, about a 3rd of the seats were filled with stay-in dinners. The music was nice and there are TVs to watch and wi-fi to use at no cost, making it a great place to get some work done or have a meeting. I will return and recommend Charm City Waffles and Wings to my friends and colleagues.

I ended up here when roaming around looking for a place to stuff my face - it was a pleasant surprise! The portion was very generous, I got a bunch of chicken and almost couldn't finish it all. But that didn't turn out to be too much of a labor, considering it was so good I burned my mouth at least three times. Don't go here for the atmosphere, it's pretty bare-bones - but it's good, priced right, and quick. Sweet and savory = yumyum!

This place is wonderful. When you go, remember the saying, "don't judge a book by its cover!" It's a tiny hole in the wall in kind of a run down neighborhood. When you enter, you'll be greeted and welcomed into a small dining area. The menu is pretty extensive and creative. I had a half red velvet and half original waffle, 3 pieces of chicken, and a salmon cake. Everything was wonderful. They had regular and King syrup. The sauce for the chicken was amazing. The salmon cake was perfect without a lot of breaking or fillers. The serving size was ample and I paid less than $10 including a drink and tax. The service was quick and friendly.other food offerings include shrimp and grits; wings; waffles with fresh sliced fruit; fish; corn. Broccoli, potato mix; and more. I was there with a friend and we met the owner, Wayne, who is a self-made success story. If you're in Baltimore, you MUST eat here. When you go, ask for Wayne and tell him Chanell and Angela from NC sent you. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Charm City is appropriately named based on the customer service provided to our family and the very good tasting food served. Brandon was an excellent server and provided good information on each of the styles of chicken being offered off the menu. While my family decided to stay with the 3 chicken pieces and waffle item I decided to venture to the Jerk Chicken. The three pieces of chicken came smothered in red sauce with a sprinkling of spices. The heat factor was at the limit of "just right" and the spices went well with the heat. I liked the heat, but I did notice the Suicide Sauce listed on the menu, maybe next time I will see how hot that one is. The waffle was very good and complimented the regular chicken pieces ordered by the family. For me, the waffle acted as relief for the burn in my mouth, so I can't tell how good or tasty it was. I will definitely be asking my family to take me back to Pigtown so I can have the chicken and waffles.

Yummy must I say...... It took me approx. 40 minutes to get here and I would definitely do it again and again!!! I ordered the red velvet waffle with chicken and my daughter got fish and a regular waffle with a iced tea and a lemonade. Both drinks were on point and tasted just right not to sweet or tart, we sat and waited for our food, once it was done it was brought over to our table/booth (how nice)....... BAM first bite words can't even describe what my taste buds were saying to my mind chicken was very tasty the red velvet waffle was just yummy and even the fish was delicious!!! I will definitely be taking a trip out here again.

Looking for a quick dinner before heading out to a concert, we stopped by Charm City Wings & Waffles for some takeout. The restaurant is small, but clean with many places to sit and a couple of TVs to watch while you wait/eat. The woman at the counter who took our order was exceedingly friendly and polite, and they had our dinners out to us in 10 minutes or so. I had the crispy chicken salad, which was on a base of mixed greens and served with assorted salad toppings and my choice of dressing. My husband tried the fried shrimp entree. My salad was delicious, and though my husband liked his dinner, he said he would probably pass on the shrimp next time and get the chicken instead. While this place isn't the spot to go to impress a date, it is a nice and inexpensive neighborhood food pick with friendly staff and fast service.

I'm giving 5 stars because the service here was unbelievable. I went with my cousin, aunt and mother. We are not an easy crowd, and needed a break from the B&O Museum. The chicken was good. Aunt had the salmon cakes and was very happy. Also had the red velvet waffle with fresh fruit which was delightful!!!! Again, outstanding, personal service and delicious food. Thanks

Great spot in pigtowne ... the wings are very good. We got mellow yellow two thumbs up. I had the chicken and waffle (3 piece) amazing. They also have red velvet waffles...next time we will have to try those. Small place...but great food...you need to go.

Stumbled into this new neighborhood lunch spot last Saturday and I think its off to a strong start. Menu is actually pretty diverse with salads, fish, crab cakes to go along with the wings and waffles. Given the name of the place though, I had to go with the 5 piece chicken with Baltimore sauce and a waffle. The chicken pieces were large, perfectly breaded and fried and the sauce was spicy but had an awesome flavor. The waffle came with melted butter already on top and powdered sugar and was huge. I was full when I left and still had 3 pieces of chicken to take home. They had a large selection of sauces for the chicken and all looked unique and sounded tasty. Charm City Wings and Waffles is a no frills sit down or take out lunch spot that will leave you satisfied and coming back for more. Plus, it won't drain the wallet.

Seriously good food. I lived in Buffalo for years, and this is one of the only places in the Mid-Atlantic that has wings of comparable quality. Get the Spicy O's sauce. Oh and a red velvet waffle. Thankfully I come to this place before dancing at the ballroom down the street. Otherwise I'd weigh 1000 lbs by now.

Best chicken and waffles. Friendly service. Will return again and again. The ONLY reason why they do not get the last star is because they are not open on Sunday, the best day to have chicken and waffles!

I had seen this place from driving past a few times and remembered the funny logo of a waffle with chicken wings on it and decided to finally drop in. The staff were polite and were welcoming when we walked in and talked us through the menu, gave us a nice breakdown of their deals, etc (such as the aforementioned free wine. Ha). Food was awesome and at a very fair price. I will certainly be coming back.

This place is legit! The chicken and waffles were great, but have you ever tried fish & waffles or shrimp & waffles? What a genius idea. The proteins were awesome, but I think the waffles could use a little work. It's not as crispy and it gets moist pretty quickly. I do like the option for red velvet waffles though. Dessert and drinks are a little on the sweeter side. Staff is super friendly and are constantly checking in on how we were doing.

I went here once after going to the salon. I was presently surprised by how great the food was. The waffles were light and fluffy (not flat like other places I've been) and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The breading on the chicken was seasoned perfectly to compliment waffles and syrup and the prices can't be beat. I haven't tried any of the other food, but after the chicken and waffles, I will definitely be back! I highly recommend.

So I just moved in down the street after my short tour in Cali (God I miss LA food) for school and to get back to my home town. 2 things I always do thats never changed is Lexington Market for my crabcakes and now here for my fried chicken, wings, and waffles fix. Of course theres tons of other good options out there in bmore like the pitbeef or the cheesesteak joints, but if you just need that down home comfort food right around the corner from Camden Yards, I'd highly consider Charm City Chicken n Waffles. Its undeniably a local favorite. The wings here are 10 for $7 which is a good price considering the size and taste. The different kinds of waffles are good for kids of all ages. And the seafood is delicious. Dont come here looking for healthy options..go hard! The kitchen is blocked by boxes(probably to hide their secret wing sauce recipes ) but everything they prepare comes out pretty clean and cooked on order. If you decide to dine in, the ambience is relaxing and must I say, charming. Don't get me wrong though...if you walk a few blocks west, your probably standing in as an extra for The Wire Season 6. But thats the point: Like every dedicated Yelper, he or she must be willing to adventure outside of their comfort zones to play the foodie game. And this joint right here, Charm City Chicken and Waffles, is the real deal.

The first time's a charm! We stumbled on this place after being tired of waiting at another establishment for brunch. The waffles are cooked to perfection and the chicken tenders are the perfect accompaniment! The shrimp and grits are creamy and delicious! Just what I would expect from a soul food restaurant. Don't forget the half and half to drink. The only minor downside is lack of real utensils. The plastic is a little cumbersome to use.

Love this place! My Saturdays have never been so satisfying. Everything about Charm City Wings & Waffles exceeds expectations. Their customer service, attentiveness, and food always make for a very gratifying trip. The red velvet waffle is a personal favorite, along with the jerk wings. And the flavor of the fried chicken?!?!? Untouchable and always consistent. I can't say enough good things about them! I just hope they stay around for a long time.

WOW! What a pleasant surprise! My brother and I attended an event at the Baltimore convention center and we were so hungry! We decided that we didn't want any of the chain restaurants that were walking distance to the center so we yelped a place near by. When I saw chicken and waffles I had to go! Charm city chicken and waffles was about .5 miles and a 4 dollar uber ride away. The restaurant is in a very cute part of town. It looked very historic. When we walked in, we were greeted the way we should, with charm. It was a charming place for sure! The chef and owner? Gave us recommendations but the pictures on the walls gave us a good look at what to order. I got the crispy chicken meal and my brother the fish (forgot what it was) and shrimp platter. It came with yellow rice and veggies including steamed corn, broccoli and red potatoes. Boy was I surprised at how amazing it was! The fish was flavorful and not dry at all! My chicken was breaded to perfection! The restaurant is not your jacket required place but who wears a jacket when they are about to get down and dirty? It was a very casual place. The decor can use some updating but who is really there to stare at the walls? I'm there for the food. They were also so nice!!!! I will definitely be back when I am back in this charming city! Do yourself a "flavor" and go here!!!! DO IT!!!! GO HERE!!! I think that this place has so much history! I'm Not someone that can be wowed that easily, usually just content, but they sure wowed me!!!!!!!!

Service was bad. The waffle was extra dry. The 3 or four shrimp floated in a pool of grease and bland grits.

I live in the DC area so I don't get up to Baltimore too often. When I do I try to hit this spot for lunch. I love their chicken. It is just plain awesome fried chicken, simple and good. The waffles are nothing too special but really they just serve as a vehicle to get the chicken and syrup into my face hole so who cares? The last time I went there they messed up my carryout order (I ordered a 5 piece and I got a 3 piece). I was sad so I called them to let the charming young woman at the register know that this happened. She told me to come right back so that she could give me (free of charge) another 5 piece! I was extremely happy with her quick and awesome resolution. Exactly how to handle that situation like a pro. Bottom Line: Great fried chicken! Cool place with really nice folks working there. Hit it up and enjoy.

The salad with salmon was excellent!! Which is why I gave it 3 stars. The foods that they are known for (chicken and waffles was tasteless). The chicken was not real chicken pieces with bones, had no flavor, and the waffle was tasteless. I would order the salad every time if I had to though. Plus the grilled salmon was super tasty.

All I need to say about this place is their food is freaking good. 5 pieces and a waffle. Packets of margarine and syrup included inside the container. The chicken is battered, however, only a thin layer of it compared to a huge chunk of real white meat chicken. Ratio would be 1/10, batter/meat. Oh and for 9 bucks? A deal right there. The waffle should be eaten asap because if you drive home which takes 20-30 minutes, that waffle won't be crispy. Couldn't order their Shrimp & Grits because they only serve that on the weekends. FUAAARRRRK! Next time. There's always a next time for this amazing place.... Next time.....

After discovering that this place moved from a very very tiny and dangerous street off of Greenmount (which I would risk my life for to eat again) a friend told me that they were on Washington Blvd. I've had wings, boneless wings, waffles, shrimp and the vegetable mix. I want to go back for the free wine on a Saturday. The little host was so charming and attentive. I appreciate his efforts to provide services e. Better than some adults. The waffles are light and fluffy. Mmmmhmm.. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. Not roscoes but nothing will beat roscoes. This place is a must go to for good chicken and waffles on the east coast!

I went for traditional and stuck to the chicken and waffles. They are exactly what you'd expect, good! The staff was friendly too. I called in an order when they first opened and they told me 10 minutes, on the phone I ordered the 3 piece when I got there I asked if I could get the 5 piece and it was no problem for them to add chicken. Very nice people, quick service and good food!

While hanging with my friend we both had a craving for chicken and waffles but didn't know where to go in Baltimore. We got on our handy internet searches and found Charm City Wings and Wafdles. We were immediately drawn to Saturdays having free wine and cake and headed over. At 1230 the place was packed with various ethnicities all with smiles on their faces devouring their meals and the place smelled delicious. We both ordered the 3 chicken pieces and waffles. I wanted the red velvet waffle but I believe she did not hear me but I was not disappointed at all. The waffle was SO fluffy and the chicken was seasoned to perfection. I am not a huge fan of chicken and I had not one bad thing to say about it. Even their maple syrup did not taste like regualr. I am tempted to go back tonight and get the salmon cake platter. I will certainly be back and always bring visitors! Love love love!!!!!

Yummy! This was my first visit and it wad worth the drive! Kudos to the owner, Wayne R.! I will definitely visit again! I ordered the 5 piece chicken and red velvet waffle. Plus 20 wings! Yes, I said red velvet. Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! Hungry yet?

They are super friendly! I couldn't decide if I wanted red velvet or the regular, so the woman at the front counter let me do half and half! I also love that the chicken is boneless since it makes it easier to eat. The combination of the waffles and chicken were so on point- crispy, salty, and moist chicken with the soft and sweet waffle. The interior is also really nice (pillows!). Plus, free drinks! I will most definitely be a frequent customer.

I came here on a Saturday and was greeted by a smorgasbord of free self-serve wine, juice, and lemon pound cake. Apparently this happens every Saturday. Perhaps I will be here every week from now on. There is not much seating, but there are a few booths, about four tables, and some stools at the bar. The ambiance is slightly more upscale than your typical carry-out establishment, but still, it is not much to speak of. This place seems to be a favorite of the locals -- I noticed that one family sitting in a booth even came here to celebrate Mothers Day. I ordered a 5-piece chicken on red velvet waffle ($9), which came in a white styrofoam container along with a large dollop of butter in the middle. The red velvet waffle was delectable -- not too sweet, delicately flavored, and a perfect complement to the fried chicken. I found only three pieces of fried chicken were necessary for one waffle, but with the free pound cake to complement the two pieces of chicken I had left, I found myself in foodie heaven. Charm City Wings & Waffles, I *will* be back!

To be honest, the chicken and red velvet waffles will not fall into my list of 'best things I've ever eaten', but it was very good. I didn't find anything unique about it but a very good breakfast for under $10 means I'll visit regularly. Perhaps I'll try the shrimp and grits next time.

This was my first visit to a restaurant in Pigtown ever. We ordered the 3 piece chicken and waffle combo. Regular waffle or choice of red velvet. And 8 wings with the Pigtown sauce (spicy mango), fries and another waffle. Each item was cooked perfectly. Perfect waffles! The chicken pieces are boneless, crispy and hot. I loved dipping them into the Pigtown sauce on the wings. Service was amazing too. Can't wait to come back.

I had the 3 piece chicken and waffle, which was actually very filling. The fried chicken was good, but the waffle wasn't as soft and fluffy as I would like. It was chewy and difficult to cut with the plastic utensils. My friend ordered chicken nuggets with "yellow mellow" sauce, which is a really tasty mango-flavored sauce. The "Susie's Southern pound cake" was rich and very delicious.
