First time ordering it was awful. Ordered sushi and the fish was bad.... Not just bad brown and grey. Ordered Hunan chicken, the only good thing about that was the steamed rice. Ended up taking the food back and going to the pizza place next door. Joy luck is just GROSS!

Completely disturbing!!!!! - my boyfriend ordered his usual chicken and broccoli from here the other night and when he got down to the bottom of his meal, there was a maggot in his food. When he called to tell them (having no intention of wanting anything free) they had no clue what a maggot was! Absolutely unbelievable and unsanitary!!!!

Ordered takeout at this place. BBQ PORK SPARERIBS are dry and bland. FRIED RICE was bland as well. I'm sure Annapolis has better Chinese than this! Come on! So disappointed with the quality of the food. I'm now nursing a tummy ache from it.

Good place for quick take out. It's difficult to find those places that doesn't have some weird way of preparing their meals, but this place seems to appeal to all. I'm a picky eater (not a foodie), so they are pretty good in my book. It's purely take out. Don't expect to sit down unless you are just waiting for your food. I'd have a menu at your home and call ahead, but they are usually very quick. They do have a sushi bar, if you are into uncooked food.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Here's the story: I've been vegan for 5 years. I order Kung pao tofu. It says on the confirmation email "Kung pao tofu". I open the box and take bite...this is NOT tofu. I look at the receipt. They had given me Kung pao chicken. Gross and upsetting but it's okay because people can sometimes make mistakes. We call to let them know of the mistake, and not only do they complete deny their fault but they yell at us and then just completely brush us off, mutter "fine we bring another" and hang up. An hour later, he comes back with (hopefully) the correct order. He has a horrible and hostile attitude and demands for the Kung pao chicken. Alex and I were extremely confused. I told him that I had already opened it and started eating it and then threw it away knowing it was meat. He starts YELLING at us saying how he was going to RESELL that food!!! And kept yelling that we needed to give the order back to him if we don't have the partially eaten Kung pao chicken. I got upset and told him "YOU guys messed up the order. We have the confirmation email." He just yelled some things in a different language and walked away. Now I'm sitting here, nauseous because I had partially eaten meat and also at the thought that this bag of new food may be someone ELSES partially eaten food. Joy Luck is NEVER getting our money again. I am so incredibly disappointed in this business I am almost fuming. Please do not go here.

It's frigid cold outside and I wanted something hot for lunch that was quick to get, close to the office and something that would be filling. I decided to stop in to get a carry out order - veggie delight with steamed rice and vegetable rolls. I was pleasantly surprised (especially after reading the reviews!). The food was plentiful, hot and packed full of a nice variety of fresh veggies. The vegetable rolls came three to an order and were a little larger than spring rolls. They weren't greasy but light, crispy and the filling was densely packed. No, the place doesn't have character as a carry out place and the counter server wasn't outwardly friendly. He got the order right and he did say thank you. And my belly is no longer rumbling "feed me; feed me now!"

My son in law ordered carry out here. I didn't know he was ordering from this place. I had chicken with broccoli. There was 90% broccoli and 10% Chicken. Broccoli was overcooked and very bad taste of oil -- my lips started to swell and became itchy, and I had diarrhea for 2 days. Swelling of the lips took 2-3 days. This place do not serve quality food at all. They are doing short cuts. Not good!

This has been our favorite chinese place in town since the one in the mall left years ago. It is not a restaurant, only take out and delivery. The egg rolls are good and normally not too oily. The wonton soup is tasty. We normally order the chicken w/broccoli, cashew chicken(w/white meat) and beef w/ broccoli. Rarely do we have a problem with our order. Good white meat chicken and the sauces are not too salty. Plenty of the veggies also. They are pretty consistent for us and that is what brings us back. Good chinese has always been an issue in Annapolis but we are happy to have Joy Luck close to us.

This may not be the best or most authentic Chinese, but it is edible. It is one of the very few places that will deliver in Annapolis. The delivery never takes too long. Everyone on the phone and who delivers is very friendly. My order has only been messed up once, and the management did fix it, although I had to prove with a print out that they messed up - I advise ordering online. The portion size is average. There are times when the food is too greasy or tastes a little on the oily side. It is not inexpensive.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
