It's a really good small Italian deli that has fresh and homemade panini bread/sandwiches. They do have a few seats outside when the weather is nice. I've been going here since 2004 and keep coming back. My absolute fav is the Panini parma (I love the moz/tomato/basil/proccuitto combo). The prosciutto makes the sandwich. So you can tell it's good quality. My co-worker likes tuna without mayo, so she likes the Panini tunno. You can also just make your own sandwiches with normal deli meat too. Get the large...it's more worth your money and is the size of a normal sandwich (two halves). If you get the small, it's basically just half a sandwich. And if the bread is just right, it has the perfect crispness to the crust and nice and soft on the inside. They also have various italian food that varies, but I think it tends to be on the pricier side. So I've never gone for it. If it's during the lunch rush, I would check out their menu online and then order ahead. That way, you don't have to wait in line cause it can get long when the weather is nice and people are hungry for food. They're great for bringing something different to the table for party platters. We used to get a bunch of sandwiches for meetings and they make it easy to pick up and serve for lunches. Fax order, pick-up, and enjoy!

this place is hands down some of the best sandwiches in the area. ive definitely driven miles out of my way for one of these sandwiches. my favorite is the caprice sandwich...they marinate the tomatoes overnight and everything comes together so well--the fresh bread, the tomatoes, the cheese...everything is prefect! i dont know that ive had a bad sandwich from these guys. the baked goods are also pretty good. i can personally vouch for the delicious cookies and breads. and the main dishes that they have on display are always tempting...but i always resist and get a sandwich. my only complaint is that i wish they were open for longer hours! i guess when youre that successful, you can make your own hours.

Dear Tonno Sandwich Maker Lady, Not only do I admire your sandwich making skills, but every time I have gotten the Tonno sandwich, it is PURE PERFECTION. I will not eat any other tuna except yellowfin now. The marinated artichokes are soooo flavorful and juicy. The olive tappennade flavor pops in my mouth. Remnants of a red chili pepper is sprinkled all in the tuna. I opt for the soft bread because I find it better than the crispy bread. As I pay, I pass so many good treats that I forget you're there in the first place. One day, arancini, you will be mine! XOXO Dreamsrey

The Parma sandwich (I added balsamic) is as everyone says, super delicious. I also got a mini cannoli that was okay. Focused menu and quality ingredients. I was surprised to find it empty when I went after work today.

I was super psyched to learn of Domenic's before moving to Waltham and couldn't wait to try 'em out. I might have waited a little too long unfortunately as when we arrived at 6:30 PM on a Friday evening most of the good stuff was gone. The guy behind the counter seemed really put out that we had to ask what was in the various "signature" paninis - had we known the takeout menus described all the sandwiches we probably could have saved him some time. I'll say this about the food - the bread was amazing, the ingredients were really fresh, and once I got the sandwich home I was able to add a few ingredients to make it more to my liking. The desserts (raspberry tart/chocolate chip cookie) were okay, but nothing special. All in all Domenic's is definitely worth trying but I'm not going to kill myself getting back on a Friday evening - if I'm ever in town during the day I'll try and swing by to sample some of the food that was sold out.

According to the owner, his meatballs are in fact made on premise. I however stand by my review. I'll stick to the Parma & Parmagianas. :) Support your local sandwich shop!

I think it's one of those cases where the Yelp reviews got me so pumped up, that nothing could live up to the hype. After discovering the reviews on a Sunday (they're closed on Sunday), I made it a point to hit this place up when I'm in the area again on a weekday. I liked my chicken parm sandwich. But by no means did it change my life. It wasn't even the best part of my day. It was just good. The pizza slice (looked too tempting to pass up)... eh, above average at best. I'm definitely going to give this place another shot to get that 5th star. It can't have this high of a rating for no reason. I just wasn't nearly as blown away as previous reviewers. I really wanted to love this place. I'm a chicken parm fanatic. I've done a list of my favorite chicken parm dishes from around the country. This place didn't make that list.

I don't dislike Dom's, but it just doesn't make me swoon like it does for other reviewers. Every Wednesday I volunteer right near Dom's. Every Wednesday I would talk with my friend about how we wished there was a place we could hit up between volunteering and work for lunch. After about three times I finally remembered to do a Yelp search. Enter Dom's into our Wednesday routine. As you pull up in front of this hole in the wall you'll start smelling the deliciousness wafting out the door. My lunch partner and I originally called ahead, but then we realized that we were missing out on inhaling the smell of fresh bread so we switched to ordering there. Totallllly worth it. I have tried a few things off the menu now mostly sticking to chicken parm, meatball parm, and the pollo. They're good but nothing that really made me want to die of happiness. When the pollo was made well it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. However, that only happened once and I got it at least six times. The bread is phenomenal though. There was more than once that we considered ordering a side of bread. When we thought through the question "Can I please have xxxx panini with a side of bread?" we ultimately decided against it, but it did leave us wondering if we should call in our orders again to enable the bread side order. I will definitely be back when the kiddies are back in school and the Wednesday routine starts again, but I don't miss it. The inconsistency for a -$9 sandwich just doesn't do it for me.

After hearing so many good things about Domenic's, my husband and I trekked out in the pouring rain during our lunch break today to get a taste. We ordered ahead so by the time we got there, the food was all ready and waiting. The place itself is quite small, with a few places to sit along the window, and easy to find being near downtown Waltham. I ordered the Parma panini with basil pesto (they forgot the pesto though...), and my husband went for the Dom's Special. Both sandwiches were excellent. I immediately fell in love with the crusty bread - really nice flavor and texture. All of the ingredients were very fresh, from the lettuce and tomatoes on the Dom's Special, to the savory cold cuts, to the cool and creamy mozzarella slices on the Parma. At first impression, we thought they were a little light on the meat, but by the time we finished our sandwiches, we were perfectly stuffed. Sandwiches range from about $6-9, which is pretty much in line with surrounding sandwich shops. Definitely a good value. We are definitely going back soon to try their arancini...

My goto place for Deli. I think they are better than Hi Rise

I've worked down the street from Dom's for over 5 years now, and I still consider it a huge treat to grab a sandwich, slice, or arancino from there. The combination of the fresh-made crusty ciabatta bread, high-quality cold cuts and other ingredients (balsamic vinegar is just one example) makes all of the food delicious, and the hustle of the team making sandwiches at lunch means that it is often packed, but they get you in and out of there quickly. This is one of my favorite Italian delis anywhere!

    (5)
  • Sean C.

They're sandwiches are pure inspirations. Don't expect to be satisfied with a mediocre sandwich after engulfing one their finest, Dom's special with everything on it.

  • Alyson C.

This is my favorite sub shop in Waltham! They do everything right here. The meats and cheeses are delicious, but the bread is the best part. I love the "Dom's Special" and find myself craving it often. The Caprese Salad is the best I've ever had, with perfectly marinated tomatoes, soft mozzarella, and perfectly dressed salad greens. Their recent decision to offer evening hours during the week has been a major bonus, since I don't have to rush home from work to be sure I can feed my Dom's fix. It's a bit expensive, but well worth the price.

  • Louis G.

Outstanding sandwiches on wonderful, baked-on-the-premises ciabatta bread with a crunchy crust. These are what I call "European style" sandwiches: delicious bread (ciabatta, baguette, etc.) with a modest amount of very tasty meat, cheese, etc., in the middle, as opposed to typical American sandwich which has mediocre bread (sub bun, bulkie roll, etc.) with huge amounts of meat. The European style is far tastier, as the long lunch line here confirms. Two of my favorites are the parma and caprese. So good, I haven't tried all the others, and haven't tried the pasta, etc., so can't say anything about those. But the sandwiches are not to be missed.

This place is great. Everything is fresh and delicious. The bread is amazing. My favorite thing off this awesome menu is the Verde.

zomfg!! 5 fers there yelps meatball sub with fresh mozz, can beat it, wouldnt want too, dont need too. if you work in the area, you come twice a month if you know whats good for you. if you live anywhere near here, find a reason to get here. i had a slice of their pizza, not THE best but way awesome. pails to the meatball sub. im having a homer moment.

Loooove Dom's for the days I don't bring lunch to work. Deli meats are top notch and sandwiches are creative. I've tried the Tonno, Verde, chicken parm, and D-Lite. All are tasty but the D-Lite without honey mustard is my go-to fave (Verde is awesome if you just want a salad on their delicious homemade ciabatta, and Tonno is fab if you like olive tapenade and artichokes. Mmmm.) Ordering through their iPhone app allows you to just walk in and pick up your order, even during the lunch rush. I've placed big orders for work through the app and Dom's has never messed them up. I just wish they were open on weekend nights for a quick dinner option!

My favorite deli in the Boston area - incredible sandwiches and pasta - everything freshly made including the bread.

  • Bret C.

Amazing chicken parm sandwich. Fresh bread - everything is homemade here. And awesome desserts. If you want a quick field trip out of Boston for lunch hop in the car and come see Dom's.

    (5)
  • Max K.

Not sure what the fuss is about, the food was mediocre at best. And, if you mess up an order you do something so the customer doesn't walk away hating you. At least if you want that customer to come back.. This one wont.

  • Jeff S.

Most amazing parma sandwich I've found yet! Their bread is unrivaled. Always fresh, always delicious. Don't forget to pick up an arancini in the checkout line. An easy impulse buy that won't disappoint.

Okay, Domenic's paninis are GOOD, but they certainly aren't worth the hype that they're getting here on Yelp. I came here for lunch recently. The place is small and the line was long, but it went really quickly. I got the Manzo, a sandwich with garlic roast beef, caramelized onion, gorgonzola, and arugula. For me it just wasn't 9 dollars worth of panini. However, if I was going to rate the fresh, warm, homemade bread alone, I'd have to give that 5 stars. But the sandwich overall was about a 3.5. Really, Domenic's famous store-baked ciabatini is what saved it. I also got a lemon bar for dessert, but it was nothing memorable. As I was eating, I began to think that maybe I ordered wrong, and that's why I wasn't as pleased as I thought I'd be. I overheard several customers ordering the chicken parm panini, which is clearly the popular choice. If I ever come back, that's what I'll have to try.

I have yet to give a restaurant five stars, but in Domenic's case, I was certainly tempted. I will start by saying that I have to agree with the plethora of hysterical reviews claiming that this place has the best f*cking sandwiches ever. It's true. They bake their incredibly-delicate-yet-crispy bread in house; it has white flour on it that gets all over your hands and lips. They clearly have an authentic brick-oven. You can eat outside under the umbrellas and watch the crossing-guards stand around trying to look like they are earning taxpayer money; all the while falling deeper and deeper in love with your (incredibly fresh) Caprese Panini or the Dom's Special (my favorite, which serves as a classic Italian but with sweet capicola and prosciutto.) They even make their own potato chips (I've heard this but when I ask, they never have them.) So what is it that keeps me from the final star? Service. I have to say that one feels like a Seinfeld character at the soup-Nazi's counter. There's no time to think in the cramped, hurried space that is Domenic's Italian Bakery and Deli. A quick, cursory look from the girl behind the glass will tell you that if you don't know what you want by now (6 seconds), there's someone behind you who does, and there is clearly no time for your shenanigans. This no-nonsense style of service may be efficient, but it is frustrating for people who want an experience instead of a favor. Quick as lightning, your order is prepared brilliantly with extensive attention to detail, and maybe even love. But by the time you have finished paying the surly clerk behind the register, and have forgotten about your napkins and straw, you're being rushed out the door to make way for the next terrified customer behind you. I think that if you have the talent and ability to create great food for your customers, that it couldn't kill you to acknowledge or even greet the customers who pay your rent. You may have the greatest f*cking sandwiches ever, but if your customers are not treated with respect and politeness, they are liable to leave your establishment with a "bad taste" in their mouth. I don't know much about the business world, but I know a lot about the restaurant world. If you smile at them, they will come. Having said all of this, I'll probably be in for a sandwich before work on Monday. Excellent food; best sandwiches in Waltham. Just don't expect a hug from the owners.

Great sandwiches. I loved their chicken parm, their caprese, and also they have yummy pasta -- especially the ravioli or the penne with mozzarella and tomatoes. Save room for cookies!!!! So delicious!!

A little difficult to find. Drove right by it twice, but I'm glad I kept on trying because it's one of those little gems in a small town neighborhood. You order at the counter and there are a few tables and chairs if you want to sit down and eat your food. Got the Doms Special based on the reviews and it did not disappoint The meat was fresh and not too salty. The stretch bread was tremendous and the toppings offered a nice crisp texture. Looks like a great spot to pick up some lunch or bring home sandwiches for dinner.

best deli i've ever found in mass. their vegetarian options are amazing, seriously. i go far out of my way on lunch breaks for this place. to waltham, no less. if you're hungry, it's a done deal you must go. you just have to find it first!

  • Holly S.

Simple, homemade goodness--just like my nonnas would make . . . if either of them were Italian. Everything is made in small batches, so it's as fresh as can be. The panini are the standout on the menu--hearty sandwiches on to-die-for bread (I suggest requesting the soft bread; a little less messy and even more tasty!). The verde is my favorite of all the panini. A mixed greens salad tossed with a balsamic dressing, sun-dried tomatoes, and gorgonzola. And the caprese panini is quite lovely, too. Ask for the pesto spread. Yum! Don't forget to get a mini canolli for after lunch. As fabulous as the ones from the North End! Dom's closes at 5:30pm during the week, so if you're thinking about grabbing something for dinner, you best do so early. EDIT 2/28/08 -- Nine bucks for a chicken sandwich with some roasted red peppers and a little goat cheese. Nine bucks!? I love you Dom's, but I don't love nine-dollar sandwiches. I must take back one of those stars . . . sorry.

Superb lunch spot. Fresh tasty bread and fast service even with a long line out the door. How did I miss the place for years. The prices were actually very reasonable and the proportions were perfect. I even saw the "People love us on Yelp" sticker that made me feel warm and fuzzy. Wait .... maybe that was the shot of Bushmills I had before lunch. Kidding kidding... Who has a shot at lunch let alone before lunch. I am sooo silly.

  • Jessica B.

best caprese salad in the world ( including italy). their bread is amazing, their italian tuno is amazing... crowded at lunch but totally worth the wait.

    (5)
  • Amy L.

All of the sandwiches I've tried there have been absolutely wonderful - my favorite being the Caprese (tomato, basil, fresh mozzarella) for $5.75. Try the Manzo (garlic roast beef, gorgonzola, arugala) and Dom's special too! Last time I was there I tried the cookie in the counter which looked really good... but was a little dry and stale. On weekdays I suggest calling in your order and skipping the often long line and paying at the register!

  • Timothy L.

One of my favorite place in Waltham for a chicken parm sandwich.

    (4)
  • William C.

There's scant seating inside (6 chairs and a little table). Since the paninis are already largely assembled before you order, the food was warm, rather than piping hot. Still, everything tasted good.

    (4)
  • Sandra L.

One of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I can't speak for any of the meals that have meat in them, but all the vegetarian options are Delicious. Hands down, their bread is a good enough reason to go there, never mind what's on it. The Caprese sandwich (my favorite) is just the right amount of cheese, tomato and spices. The salads and pastas are great as well. Everything tastes fresh and made to order. Some advice, order a head, then you don't have to wait in the huge line. Just step right up and get your food to go (great for me, since I come on my lunch break.) One bad thing, they are not open late or on weekends. But this doesn't make them lose a star because the food is so great. The prices are a little high, but the food is so good and fresh it's worth it.

dont know what the big fuss is about this place. I ordered the prosciutto parma and there was ONE piece of prosciutto folded up in my tasty roll. tasty mozzeralla and tomatoes, but that was it. give me a break

  • Jonathan G.

GREAT service, GREAT staff, GREAT sandwiches, bread that is so great is deserves a string of expletives in front of the word great, and, BONUS, reasonable prices. It might not look great from the outside, shoved between a laundromat and a convenience store on one of the least appealing strips in waltham (and that's saying something!), but this place is truly a treasure.

    (5)
  • Naomi U.

Nothing to look at, but a lot to write home about A tiny space with a few pieces of patio furniture to let you "eat in"...but "take out" is probably the most comfortable way to enjoy their fare... Fabulous salad sandwiches! Cannolis which are only filled once you order them! And as mentioned by others good solid Italian standards; parm etc. They KNOW their Cannolis are good...if you do take-out, or perhaps if your eyes are bulging out, they ask if you want that in a bag..or "just like this" ...pastry tissue in hand...... Yummy! I've longingly watched large tinfoil trays of catering go past me between the kitchen and the door...so I think they cater too.

Domenic's is my favorite lunch spot near work. Great panini made fresh on incredibly tasty bread, delicious pastries, and pasta dishes that bring in the crowds at lunch day in and day out. There's always a line, but it moves pretty quickly, so don't fret, you wont be waiting long. I'm addicted to their chicken parm, but I've had just about everything on the menu and it's all been delicious. Great place to sit outside and have lunch in the summer or grab some sanwiches to go.

Great place for sandwhices. The restaurant itself is fairly simple, but with sandwhiches that good- who cares about the ambience?

We found this place by searching the internet. We live in Waltham and were on a quest to find lobster tail pastries so we walked from the commons in Waltham down Main Street. It was a longer walk than expected and fortunate that we walked as finding parking would have been difficult. I was impressed with the attempts at a relaxing atmosphere with tables and chairs outdoors. When we entered we realized that the tables and chairs outdoors were more necessity as there was no space inside. We sat at one of two tables (I think there were two but maybe only one) near the counter overlooking the a storefront window with about four stools. There were festive Napoli Calcio banners on the walls and some rosary beads giving the sole appearance of authentic Italian however many of the staff were definitely not Italian at all and I never had the feeling I was remotely near Italy. There were a few token pastries in a display near the cash register but the majority of food items were panini. The average price was around $8 for a panini. We perused the menu but could find nothing that interested us. It was a hot day and a hot panini was not interesting us. Afterall we wanted pastries. This place may have a great selection of bread (I am not sure as there wasn't a display) but it was more catering toward a lunch crowd making pick up "to go" orders. As far as a relaxing cafe environments it does not compare to Cafe on the Common and for food the selection and prices pale compared to Tara Restaurant on Moody Street. It's location is in closer proximity to South Street and Brandeis so maybe college students walk there when they don't have the energy to walk downtown. It's not a great location for anyone arriving from the center of the city as there are too many other options to pass up along the way well competitive in price and quality. I believe in supporting the small businessman and would have patronized the place if I felt it was indeed a family business or felt some affinity for fellow Italians but many other businesses have better service and you know you are patronizing a family business at many other area restaurants. With so many choices in Waltham, I would pass on this one.

Best Italian sandwich in the Boston area. Chicken Parm, Egglant Parm.....everything is good here!

    (5)
  • Brian D.

The five-star panini at Domenic's are the best I've tasted in the Boston area. It's the fresh-baked bread that does it. For a big manly belly load, the chicken parm is top notch, but lighter fare like the blue cheese salad panini and the caprese (mozarella, tomato, and basil) are also total winners. You will often see very long lines here at lunch time, and there is no finer indication of quality. Don't go too late, though--when they run out of fresh bread, there are no more sandwiches to be had. Note that they're closed on Sunday--the day I'm usually craving Italian food.

  • Adam B.

I really enjoy going to Domenic's for a good, tasty afternoon lunch. The bread is good and the food always tastes fresh. I've had the meatball panini and the caprese. The cookies haven't been very fresh when I've had them, but they are not why I go there. My next choice will be one of the pasta dishes. They look so tasty when I walk in there. There is some outside seating that is very relaxing on a nice weather day.

  • Danielle D.

Ok, so I love this place. I've eaten here a handful of times and enjoy the food a lot. First of all, the bread is phenomenal and the fillins of the paninis are soooo yummy. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that I just got a sandwich from there and was a little disappointed. I guess they must pre make some sandwiches on days when they are going to be busy which I understand, however, the bread of my sandwich had been sitting out for just a little too long and was hard to chew parts of it. If I had been at the restaurant when I ate it I'm sure they would have made me a fresh one so I would just say in the future, I'll make sure to ask them to make them fresh when I'm there. But otherwise, its definitely a good treat!

  • Lala L.

They have awesome sandwiches for lunch. It's pre-made and sitting on top of the counter behind the glass. They are much, much better than the ones on the sandwich list. So do get there early before they run out. Love the tuna and also the eggplant panini. They also have pizza by the slice and arranici (sp?) - it's the fried Italian rice balls stuffed with meat and cheese. yumz!

  • Brett M.

Excellent sandwiches!! Well, how would I know? I only get the chicken parma. It is so good that I can't move beyond and explore the menu. Let me revise: Excellent Chicken Parm!

  • Poopy P.

I've only had 3 things there. The Italian sub, the Dom's Special Italian sub and the gnocchi. These Italian subs are far and away, the BEST Italian subs I have EVER had. And believe me, that's not a statement I make lightly. The bread is perfect, the meats are awesome, the veggies are fresh. It's not the most inexpensive sandwich in the world, but it doesn't matter. Do yourself a favor and put these Italian subs in your stomach.

Amazing. Truly terrific Italian deli food. The Dom's Special is amazing, especially on their homemade bread.

I've really tried to like this place - I've been there 3-4 times, trying different sandwiches, and each time I come up with 'eh', and wishing I went somewhere else. The first time I get the parma, based on a coworkers suggestion, only to find that the outer edge of the salted cured meat had a lot of fat and rind on it. Not appetizing. The next time I got something else (forget what it was - as it was probably 6-7 months ago), and still didn't finish the sandwich. If I recall correctly, I was disappointed at the amount of filling - the sandwich was 80% bread. Today they were a mess. My coworker had to wait like 5 minutes for his sandwich (meanwhile 3-4 others had already picked theirs up), and while I got mine right away - it turned out to be the wrong one. I ordered a chicken based sandwich, and got eggplant. While I could have brought it back and returned it, my lunch break is only 60 minutes and I had already burned through more than half of it by that point. I'm done with this place.

  • Sean R.

I'm a chicken parm guy, which is incredible at Domenic's. I rarely venture to veal, but I tried it at Domenic's the other day and it was actually better than the Chix Parm. First time I've ever said that. Meatball rocks my world too. Pizza's thick crust and great if you get it fresh. If it's been sitting out for a while they don't do a great job of reheating for you though.

I've heard a million people claim that this place has the best sandwiches in town. They make a damn good sandwich but it's not the best and just too greasy for my taste. Ask for the soft bread because even the soft bread is quite crusty and tough though still really good. My friends are obsessed with this place and since they have a little counter in our Economics building at Brandeis University, Dominic's has infiltrated Aramark's death grip on the student body. The goat cheese, spinach, and sun-dried tomato salad is amazing! It's pretty oily because of the sun-dried tomatoes but that's probably what makes it so good. Also, the pasta here is sickeningly yummy. Crack open one of those during ECON82A and all the heads in the room will turn and miraculously everyone's taking a "bathroom" break to snatch up containers of gnocchi and ravioli. The cookies are great and I like the eclectic selection of drinks they have from Italy. The Main Street location has a cute outdoor seating area that's always packed with people during the summer months.

When you can see the little old lady dressed in black running the cramped kitchen, barking orders in Italian at her no-good nephews, you can pretty much order anything off the menu and know it will be good. I used to resent commuting all the way out to Waltham, and looked forward to working in Cambridge, but now sometimes at the food court an ache in my soul for Domenic's overwhelms me. Why hast thou forsaken me, Domenic's? Why aren't you open on the weekends that I might once again taste your tuna panini?

  • L. O.

I dream about Dom's bread. Seriously, I might eat there every single day of the week if I could possibly do that & still fit in my clothes. Every sandwich I've tried has been great-and I'm convinced it's all in the bread-crusty, holds its shape, doesn't get soggy & gets infused with their balsamic vinegar -so yummy. My ode to the bread aside, I've had their lasagna (pretty good) & arancini (really good) too. Definitely worth a trip if you're in Waltham.

  • R. B.

I work nearby, so occasionally will go here for lunch. The food is really good, but they're pricey (for lunch) and they don't give ya alot. Also, the bread I've had here was kind of tough and hard to chew.

I've been here twice to get a sandwich for lunch, and both times I have wanted to order one of everything on the menu (and I resolve to keep going back until I have tried it all). Agree with everyone else's raves re: the flavors, the authentic nature of the place, the charm, but I wish that the sandwiches had a little more filling. You end up with a LOT of bread.

Gotta agree 100% with Carolina on this one! This place is off the charts. I work in Waltham and a co-worker asked me if I wanted an Italian sandwich from "Dom's" not knowing what it was, I said yes, expecting an Italian sub from the local joint. That's not what I got at all! Made on fresh bread, with the finest deli meats I've had. A light bed of fresh greens, no, not iceberg lettuce, REAL greens. It was one of the best sandwiches I've experienced! I've never actually been in the place, but the food sure is good!

This is a great and delicious Italian deli.. they do a lot of catering, so the place its really small.. but its sooo good.. its one of the best Italian restaurants that i have tried in Boston.. all the pastas are great and all the paninis as well.. so in general allllllll is good.. great place if want you want is real Italian food...

I really love this place. My favorite is the caprese sandwich. The arancini (rice balls) are also awesome. There's not a lot of room to eat sit-down and sometimes the wait can be long (order ahead and pick up if you can). What I love best besides the food is the 'mom and pop' feel. You can see the older grandmotherly ladies in the back slaving away and loving it. There's so much love put into the food - I think that's what makes it so special.

dom's is delicious!!!! the italian sub is SO good and they have a lot to choose from! the prices are reasonable. i would much rather spend 6 or 7 dollars on a sub here than ANYWHERE else in town!

I have loved Doms for years now. I resisted going here with my coworkers for a year thinking that it was not worth $7 or $8 for a veggie sandwich, and when i finally decided to go, i regretted waiting so long! I used to hate eggplant, but Doms converted me into a lover of it! I love their eggplant parmesan panini, the melenzan panini, and the verde panini. Everything is tasty here, and even though the sandwiches are a bit pricey, they are every bit tasty.

Sandwiches on fresh homemade bread- - delicious! My parents love the food and I always bring a sandwich platter when I am visiting them. Special sandwiches packed with a lot of flavor and taste. Small site so I usually take food to go.

Domenic's has the most fantastic Italian sandwiches (or grinders, as we say back in CT) in the area. The homemade ciabatta is so delicious, and everything is good on it. I favor the meatball grinder, the BF goes for the eggplant parm, though we've sampled many varieties and haven't hit on one that wasn't awesome. I also love the house salad. First, it's HUGE. Like, enormous. Second, it comes with real greens, not just some chopped iceberg, as well as roasted red peppers, lots of black olives, cukes and plenty of tomatoes. The balsamic vinaigrette that comes with is also tasty. The prices are quite good. You get plenty of food for the buck. The only problem is that they close early. They have been closing at 8:30 this summer, but generally they close about 5:30 during the week, 3 on Saturday's and they're closed on Sunday. I wish they had later hours, because they would become our go-to Friday night take-out place.

Great Italian sandwiches and home style food for take-out. They have a few tiny tables for singles and pairs as well but the place is crowded with the lines for take-out lunch. The bread is stunning and baked in-house. I wish they delivered! Every so often someone from work will take orders and make the drive, and when they do, you know lunch will be happy.

I love Dominic's and that is why it's bittersweet for me to only give them 3 stars. I've gone a few times in the past and have always been satisfied. However, I haven't been able to go in a while and when I finally had a chance to go last week, it was such a bummer to get a bit of a disappointing sandwich. There was barely any meat and it looked like it was just thrown together on the fly. While the bread is still amazing, I would have just bought a loaf if that's all I wanted. I've seen this happen with great places before when they start skimping on the meats to cut costs. I'm really hoping this was just a one time occurrence.

Really fun place, near Brandeis. Had an excellent Italian soup and a terrific sandwich. The people working (owners?) there were great, and very friendly. Excellent choice for an Italian deli lunch. 4.5 stars as a deli. Definitely worth a repeat visit. It's a bit hole-in-the-wallish, but I liked that about the place. Very good college-town vibe, and very Italian.

Awesome sandwiches. I always get the di Parma and it's delicious. The bread is on point. Tough to eat in because of the small space and can get pretty busy, but they work quick to make the food.

There are lots of things that I miss about college. High up on that list (way above frat parties and homework) is Domenics. This was my go-to place for four years of lunches when I couldn't deal with on-campus dining anymore. This place has pretty much got it all going on. First of all, there is the bread. It's fab. Amazing for the sandwiches they serve and everything else. Every time I stopped there, I would grab two or three extra loaves for general snacking and sharing with appreciative friends. Inside the sandwiches are amazing italian lunchmeats and cheeses. Dom's Special (with everything) is my favorite Italian sub in Boston, not to mention their tuna...yum. My favorite hot sandwich is the Bomba which is a giant and hearty and so so amazing steak sandwich with provolone and hot peppers and arugula. Yummm. Everything here is delicious. The arancini are amazing. The pasta is delicious. The soup is to die for. Get here. Fast as you can.

Best sandwiches in Waltham, no question. If this place was 50 miles from my house it would be worth the drive. Great staff, excellent food, and good prices. Can't be beat.

First time to Domenics. A small, yet busy place. The people there are super friendly, and provide great service. I ordered a meatball panini and a slice of pizza. The pizza was new to me. The dough was soft and thick, and clearly fresh. The sauce was amazing, and you can really tell it is homemade. It's sweet, but not so sweet that it takes away from the pizza. The cheese was partially melted and not oily at all. The crust was just the right amount of crispy. Overall pizza grade: A. The meatball panini was okay, FOR ME. Again, the sauce was great. The meatball was fantastic. For me, I like my panini/hot sandwiches to be toasted. So the bread was too soft for my liking. Don't get me wrong, the bread is fantastic - for things that call for soft bread, such as bread and butter/olive oil, a cold sandwich; just not a hot sandwich/panini. I'm not sure if I could have asked for it toasted, but I am sure that would not have been a problem. Overall grade: B/B-. Again, for me. Domenics' is a great place for a quick bite to eat. I would encourage anyone that enjoys homemade Italian food to check this locale out.

Doms is fantastic and plenty of people have said so . I recommend Dom's special or the steak and cheese. Both are great. I have also had the carbonara. If your hungry this is a good choice. It was very good.

This is one of the best Italian places in the area. They are great for both sandwiches and entrees. On the sandwich side the caprese panini is outstanding. The chicken parm is great, the eggplant parm is really, really great. It is definitely more of a takeout place, so you're not coming here for the ambiance, you're coming here for the food. They do get very busy around lunch time so plan ahead. This is a place I'll definitely continue to visit on a regular basis.

When I moved to Boston, I heard that everybody thinks that their local sandwich shop is the absolute best. I think that's obvious nonsense, because Domenic's is objectively better than any other sandwich shop around here. :P Jokes aside, it's really amazing. The ciabatta is made in-house, the soups taste like they simmered all day, and the salads have more ingredients than they have any right to have. Even when you order a "verde" salad (surely it's filled with greens, right?) more than half the salad or sandwich is rich gorgonzola, sweet and unctuous marinated tomatoes, and some really killer balsamic. If you're here around Lent, DO NOT MISS the zeppole - a choux pastry filled with custard and topped with a little cherry. They only offer it "in season", as it were, so get 'em when you see 'em.

    (5)
  • Shannon W.

I paid $10 for a seltzer and a salad that had 3 ingredients (5, if you count the oil & balsamic vinegar on the side). The caprese salad was good, but only consisted of marinated tomatoes, lettuce, and mozzarella.

  • Shannon D.

I have tried multiple items from the menu, and have sadly never been impressed with any of them. I was extremely excited to try the arancini, but it was dry, cold in the middle, and flavorless. Each sandwhich I have tried lacked flavor and meat/toppings. I was especially grossed out by the meatball sandwich, which was a dry flavorless meat cake, that resembled bad meatloaf! The name of the establishment is terribly misleading, being that the only thing "baked" is the bread, which tastes as if it is about a week stale. Even though there are Italian owners, there are no tasty Italian sweets or pastries to speak of, only a few American style cookies. Probably the biggest let down, are the incredibly high prices for very little and very sub par product. If I were in the area, I would honestly opt to go to the Panera across the street. Being that I have visited some amazing Italian spots around where I live like: "Bob's Italian Foods" and "Cafe Toscano" in Medford, and even "J Pace" in Saugus, I would recommend finding better Italian eateries in the area, that have much more adequate pricing for the quality and quantity offered.

Love their sandwiches! Their Italian is perfect. Light and fresh with the right meat to veggie ratio. They have a great selection of other things besides sandwiches that I've yet to try but always look good. Their Italian cookies are awesome as well. Service has always been quick and friendly. Also they take LevelUp which gives you $3 off your first order. The only downside is finding parking can be tricky.

I got their gnocchi. They were way over cooked, it didn't have that wonderful chewy fluffiness. I did enjoy the tomato sauce. It was very fresh and tangy tasting. My friend got a sandwich. The person making the sandwich left tomato sauce prints on his sandwich...and the sandwich did not have any tomato sauce....

This is hands down one of my favorite places to eat. The bread it out of this world! I used to work down the street and would go at least once a week. It's worth the trek to try one of their sandwiches. I love there parma sandwich. Can't go wrong, this is one of the best places in Waltham.

I've been a long time huge fan of Domenic's, although not a frequent flyer over the last couple years given my office moved from Waltham to Boston. I was in Waltham the other day and excited to hit Domenics, but... I was disappointingly disappointed. The bread is as amazing as ever, but w/the inner makings are meek. A lot of bread, not much meat, a lot of pasta, not much meat. I'm OK for paying a hefty cost for a most excellent sandwich, but not when there is a meek slice in there of meat. A few hours later I was hungry ... because I essentially had a bread sandwich w/a splash of protein.

Hands down the best Sandwiches in Waltham and all surroundings towns. The bread is all baked in house, and ridiculously good. I dream about the verde with grilled chicken, its incredible. Tip-You can now skip the long lines, and order online! They email you when your food is ready. It's amazing!

My review will be a drop in a very large bucket of customer loyalty. Too many love this place. If you show up when it's busy and there's a line out the door, it's still worth the wait. I got there at noon. Long line. Still only a 5-minute wait. They were advertising their lamb panino, which sold out one customer before me. They apologetically replaced the lamb with roast beef and then insisted I not pay for it. But that's insane - I would gladly pay the same price for the sandwich I'm stuffing into my face now. The tomatoooooooees, juicy and acidic and making the oregano burst with flavor, and the feta laying out a salty creamy base for the subtle flavors of the cold cuts, which are perfectly textured, and on their fresh homemade chewy and spongy bread that traps the flavor storm that might otherwise end up on the plate. No I will not accept this for free. I will review the **** out of your generosity. And leave a small tip. Then again, maybe they recognized me. I have been eating there for 3 years... Still very generous.

I live across the street from Domenics but never gone here. Not sure why. Maybe it was one of those things where you take for grants since you assume since it's right there, you can do it anytime, so kept putting it off. Then one night, a friend asked how it was, I didn't know, so we went. Not knowing what to get, I got the Dom Special thinking they wouldn't call it their special it was terrible :) Mortadella, provolone, sopressa, capicola, prosciutto and added red peppers, tomato, lettuce and fresh mozzarella all on a fresh baked daily bread. It was great! The bread and combination of meats and veffies were great. Only thing I'd like to see was more meat. The fillings weren't all that filling for $8. Defintely going back there.

YES. YES. YES. A fine Italian deli this is and affordable. My boyfriend and I were trying to choose between this and Moody Street Delicatessen and this one was just much more reasonably priced. Domenics is worth EVERY penny. The Parma is amazing and Will got Doms Special - both favorites of the place according to the other reviews. Although I will say the arancini is not that impressive. It is a MASSIVE ball, but it's also massively disappointing. Save your money. Can't wait to try the other paninis though!!!

I ordered carryout for a late lunch one Saturday afternoon. I wanted to try lasagna but I was told that is only offered on the catering menu. That's too bad I thought. I order chicken parm since that's usually good and you can't mess it up. I was happy with the order. But when I placed the order, the guy asked me how many pieces of chicken I wanted. I said one since I was the only one eating but I should've ordered more. I will go back to try out other Italian dishes and their sandwiches.

Dominic's is great! They catered my baby shower in May and did a fantastic job... Everyone loved it. I go into the store all the time, and usually get the caprese panini, but I've had several others and everything from this deli is really fantastic. The service is great, the employees are great, and the food is excellent. Also, the cannoli are better, in my opinion, than what you'll buy in the North End at Mike's or Modern. Save yourself the trip and get your cannoli at Dominic's!

This place is delicious! I don't hand out many for star reviews but this place deserves it. Staff was friendly, there was a line that went by really fast and they had our order ready super fast. I got a delicious turkey honey mustard sandwich and my husband got a salami sandwich and we shared the caprese salad. All were amazing! Would definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch.

Oh wow, I don't know how much praise I can give this place. I had their meatball sub and it was beyond delicious. Homemade fresh bread, melted cheese, made everything perfect. Top that off with the bakery where they have fresh canolis. Couldn't have been better for lunch. Order online everything will be ready by the time you get there. Thank me later!

  • Esther J.

I'm impressed. The food -- whatever it is, whether it's a salad, pasta, or panini -- is delicious, high quality, and fresh. They even make/give you a piece of their own bread. The only thing is that it gets so crowded during lunch time, it's not really a sit down, but I guess that's a good sign for a thriving eatery!

I can't deem Dom's my favorite spot in the Waltham/Lexington area yet only because I haven't had enough variety of sandwiches, dinners and Panini's from here. I mean this place definitely has a ton of rave reviews via Yelp and if you go anywhere from 11:30 am until 5 pm this place is usually packed. I would avoid this place for lunch unless you are picking up, DEFINITELY CALL YOUR ORDER AHEAD, because IT SEEMS LIKE ALMOST EVERYONE IN WALTHAM GOES THEIR FOR LUNCH. I mean clearly if you have a packed house almost every day your open then your food must be great right? Either go before the lunch rush or call in an order from 6 towards close, definitely not as busy. So far I've had the famed Parma panini, Caprese panini and Sopressa Panini and i haven't been disappointed, they've all packed a ton of flavor and were made with the freshest of ingredients. The chicken parm panini was superb and the Pasta Bolognese was ok , it didn't blow me away but it wasn't bad either. The salads here are also pretty great, I would try the Caprese if you want to go the salad route. They have a few parking spots outfront but it's right at a busy intersection, your best option parking wise is parking across the street in the little mini mall strip that has Five Guys, Panera and Party City and walking over. Also these guys sometimes have on World Cup games and Uefa Champions League games, any establishment that supports "THE WORLD'S GAME aka futbol aka soccer" i will always support !

Just finished my Southern Chicken special ( exclusive ) at Domenics. Simply put, it was to die for: Grilled chicken with some avocado along with sliced fresh tomatoes plus some homemade special jalapeños (not 2 spicy) .. served inside their homemade ciabatta rolls coated with homemade roasted garlic mayonnaise. Only at Domenics.

  • Hey T.

1st time to Domenics with a 10 minute wait start to finish at noon on a Friday. Absolutely no ambience and so hectic and charmingly disorganized that you really need to know what you want as all the regulars buzz in and out around you, and the staff friendly enough yet too busy, rush you along! I had the Dom Special and it was fabulous! The meat was quality Italian, the toppings were fresh and the bread was perfectly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. I parked in the lot beside the deli but as I ate on the sidewalk at one of their umbrella tables, there were up to 6 parking spaces at a time in front on the street because most of their business seemed to be takeout. I didn't get a chance to look at desserts or pastas because it was just too crazy at the counter but I'll definitely be back.

  • Tommy M.

In the area for business and I was looking for something simple for lunch. I hate going to chain places. You don't see a lot of places like Domenics anymore. Sure there's lots of local deli's you can go to pumping out basic boring sammiches. I ordered the Manzo, a panini with house garlic roast beef, caramelized onions, gorgonzola and arugula on fresh bread....that was fresh bread. The bread can make or break the sammich! The roast beef wasn't try or nasty. Everything was fresh and very good. I'll be town for the next four days to try their other paninis. I had it to go. Seating is limited, bar style overlooking the street.

Had to try something that's not available in San Diego and I must say this places doesn't disappoint. I ate the Pasta Bolognese (w/bread on the side). Can't go wrong. Side note: Parking isn't the greatest nor is the space inside the deli/bakery.... then again, it's because it's really crowded(because of the good food and service), even at 1pm on a late lunch.

  • Sdtjm S.

I grew up in Waltham, but have lived in San Diego for over 20 years now. Dominics is a place I visit EVERY time I'm back east visiting. I absolutely can not find anything nearly as good. I am really hoping that someone from Doms (or someone who knows) will tell me either where to find, or how to make their "hots." There are no recipes, nor even good websites that describe this amazing condiment for sandwiches.

    (5)
  • Brian G.

This place has solid food. We've gone there a few times for lunch and each time the food is great! Plenty of options to choose from, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Also, the cookies are a must to finish off the meal. Only con, pepsi products lol. We typically sit outside as they have plenty of outdoor seating.

  • Craig F.

My brother suggested this place after viewing a video of it on YouTube ( Phantom Gourmet- youtube.com/watch?v=fXbi… ) Watching this video gets your mouth watering for the deliciousness that is about to go into your mouth. We got there right before the lunch rush (About 12-1pm) and boy do they come out! The line goes right out the door, but don't let that scare you, as the line moves fairly quick. I ordered the Doms Special ($7.99) Mortadella, provolone, sopressa, capicola, prosciutto and added red peppers, tomato, lettuce and fresh mozzarella all on a fresh baked daily bread that is delicious. Oh man, this sandwich was so good! This is one of the best deli sandwiches I've ever had, hands down and I've had my share of sandwiches, believe me! If I ever find myself in Waltham, MA ever again, I will most definitely be back!

Hey now! Yelper's to the rescue! College touring in the area and looking for a great lunch spot - Domenic's hit the radar. Thanks to you Yelpers, I had a great lunch. Whoa! Amazing sandwiches...seriously amazing! The Italian & The Parma - wow! Not sure if I'll be back in Waltham anytime soon, but I may make a special trip to hit Domenic's again. Outstanding! F-I-V-E...as in stars.

  • Melinda G.

The 5 stars is for the sandwiches and salads because that is all I have had. I worked in Waltham for 2 1/2 years and we used to get lunch catered in from there many times. They have a few, cute outdoor seats and a few indoor stool seats as well. There is always a line out of this authentic Italian sandwich place. The bread is to die for. You cannot go wrong with this place for sandwiches. Also the large cookies they tempt you with when you are ready to check out at the end of the counter are awesome too! Their arancini balls, pasta and pizza look good, but I never have made it past the sandwiches.

    (5)
  • Donald S.

The Parma really is a good as advertised. Dont want to be picky, but although the bread is great, i would prefer one on the softer side.

  • Brandon N.

This is very simple, if you are not a fan of onions, peppers, all types of cheeses and breads and are more about the meat and flavor than this review is for you. I am not a fan of Dom's simply because of preference BUT what I can order there I felt it was average. The meat and flavor should be good regardless of all of the toppings. I also feel every time I get a sandwich the bread is extremely hard, my jaw ends up feeling like a beaver after a long day of work chomping on cedar. Everyone at the local office orders from here every Friday and I am the lost soul that never does unless an absolute last option. I suggest giving them a try (all very nice inside as well) and deciding for yourself as I am clearly one in a million!

Best sandwiches in Waltham! Amazing homemade bread. I just wish they were open on Sunday's and later on Saturdays! Highly recommend! And if there is a line it is worth the wait

    (5)
  • Jen A.

They make the sandwich bread there! Nice and crispy. I had a chicken parm panini and more chicken then bread is a huge plus. I am usually overwhelmed by bread when I order a sub from a traditional pizza place. The sauce was really good too. I will ask for extra cheese next time.

  • B M.

A lot of these places with such glowing reviews have workers with attitudes. Domenic's was the opposite for me! The workers feverishly making the sandwiches behind the counter were very patient with my questions. I walked out with their four recommended sandwiches--Chicken Parm, the Dom, the Parm, and the Verde--and all four were a hit. The six cannoli were perfect, but the surprise was the Arancini. I don't even know what all was in it, but it tasted like the best hash browns I've ever had. It was a big, perfectly browned fried ball. For my visit, Domenic's lived up to its billing.

  • Laura H.

I gotta say I was a little disappointed with my Caprese sandwich today. Don't get me wrong, the bread is still fantastic and the ingredients are fresh, but boy did they skimp on the mozzarella; it was mostly tomato and only a few small pieces of cheese and for the price you pay, there should have been more. Wishing I had just bought the bread and made it myself.

    (3)
  • Sean R.

Got Dom's Special, and thought it was too notch. I think any place that does fresh rolls does it right. I will be going back to check out some of the other options. It looks like they do a decent catering job as well.

  • Matt E.

I can honestly say this place deserves 5 full stars! The Italian sub is in the running for best in the land. Delicious bread is what sets this thing apart. Kinda like a ciabatta roll, airy, not too much carbs, and tastes like it just came outta the oven. Plus with the balsamic vinegar soaking into it, man it had the perfect balance. Just enough to soften the crust's crunch. I work right down the street so I am concerned for my waistline. I know this won't end well for my current pairs of pants. Also order online to skip the lunch rush.

  • Jennifer N.

Fresh bread, great combination and specials, small hole-in-the-wall, long lunch lines - What more can you ask for? This place has a great ambiance has great tasting sandwiches that makes you want to come back again and again to try another sandwich. Price is good and quality is amazing. Highly recommend if you like Italian sandwiches and are driving through waltham. Also, in the summer, you can sit outside on the patio and soak some sun while you eat - perfect.

Don't go here! Especially during lunch! And whatever you do, don't tell your friends! Who wants an amazing eggplant sandwich on fresh bread? Not you! So you really shouldn't come here. Except on the weekends when I'm not around. Then that'd be okay.

  • Trevor J.

You just don't get sandwiches better than this. Fresh bread, mozzarella, basil, tomatoes and the best ham I've had in a very long time (imported black label?). Skip the fast food joints nearby and grab a bite here, you'll be happy you did. WELL DONE. I'm a tough sandwich critic and this sandwich is almost flawless.

I live around the corner and haven't gone here enough. Decided to hike Prospect Hill on Saturday and wanted to take a picnic lunch. 4 of us placed an order online and it was ready when we arrived to pick it up 10-15 minutes later. I'd recommend ordering online if you can - will avoid having to wait if they are busy. The food was delicious (I had a Caprese sandwich and had them add balsalmic vinegar to it) and I'd consider ordering catering from them for family parties as well.

Changing my review from 5 to 3 stars. Drove 40 minutes literally just to get 6 rolls for sandwiches and they refused to sell them to me. He said the lunch rush was about to start and they needed them for other customers... What a joke. Not rushing back anytime too soon.

I absolutely love Italian delis, and try them everywhere I go. Dom's was fantastic! We had an eggplant parm panini, a Dom's special, and we also ordered a tray of three cheese lasagne, chicken parm and meatballs for a dinner party we were throwing. It was all SO good. Al l of our guests raved about the food and had seconds and thirds. The staff was so nice and accommodating to top things off. I'll definitely be back and am looking forward to trying more menu items! As an added bonus: Dom's has online ordering!

This is a good place to grab a panini or some Italian food for lunch. They have a variety of items such as pizza, paninis, subs, chicken parm, etc. The only downside is that things aren't made to order. They are already prepared and kept in catering trays, and then served from there. But, overall an OK place to eat.

Doms is awesome. Great sandwiches and very authentic Italian. Arancini are huge and tasty. It's kind of expensive for what it is, but definitely worth a try (or three) if you work in the waltham area and haven't tried it.

Doms makes the best bread in town. Amazing sandwiches and chips. However, their service leaves something to be desired. From wrong orders, to forgetting to put sandwiches in my bag, every time I have visited they have gotten something wrong. They are fast, and their food is amazing, but I can't say their service is quite there.

I am a little disappointed with Dominics. I stopped there on a whim during my lunch break. The place smelled great and there was a line. I thought that this must be a good place. I ordered a Eggplant Mellanaize (sp?) sandwich. When I got back to my office I found a sandwich stuffed with lettuce greens and a thin layer of egg plant on the outer edge of the sandwich. Now it was fresh and what they provided me tasted pretty good, but I ordered an egg plant sandwich and egg plant was not the dominant ingredient. I will go back, but I pay more attention to the construction of my sandwich.

Prepare for old work wonderful. First you walk in and realize this is a working bakery. The breads are made fresh and so too are some of the pastries. The staff is just out of central casting from old New York. They are fast, helpful, and all business. I ordered a panini and was absolutely blown away. Also tried some soup and it was delicious. You can see these folks pay a lot of attention to what they're doing because it shows, and more importantly you can taste the difference. This is as good a sandwich shop you will ever find. It doesn't get much better than this. They also serve pastas and the table next to me had some. Wow...that's what I'm going to try next time. Great job to all those at Domenics for giving me a new favorite place to fill up my tank.

The sandwich i got was really good-- the Dlite turkey with honey mustard, balsamic and roasted peppers. Their cookies are unreal and their pasta dishes are fantastic too. The employees are fantastic and extremely nice, gave my girlfriend fresh bread with her meal just because. This is a little hole in the wall place that deserves more attention than it seems to get.

The absolute hands down best sandwiches in the area. Fresh crunchy homemade bread baked daily for your sandwich. The eggplant is so delicious. Everything is homemade and tasty. Always a line for lunch so get there early. Try the Parma.

The caprese was very tasty and super garlicky which I loved! Instead of just tomato slices and fresh mozz, it was diced and the cheese was little hunks in a mixture of garlic & basil. Tried the arincini ball by recommendation, but wasn't loving it. They didn't give any sauce (were they supposed to?!) so it was really dry. I liked the crunchy outside but 1/3 thru the thing and I had enough. They sell Pepsi products but only Diet Mt Dew, not real Mt Dew, boo! Outdoor seating was nice, but you gotta get there before the lunch rush or there's no room and you'll be waiting in line for a while.

Our school's cafeteria serves Domenic's food so needless to say I've been eating their food for way too long. I've tried pretty much all their sandwiches and pastries. My favorites are: Caprese: Mozzarella and Tomato sandwich with toasted bread. Super light and refreshing! Makes me feel kinda healthy when I eat it. Chicken Parm: Pretty darn good and filling. Big ass piece of chicken breast. Eggplant Parm: I love eggplant. Meatball: Pretty flavorful meatballs. Probably one of the most filling sandwiches they offer. I also love all their pastries cause I have a sweet tooth.

Dom's is the best Italian bakery/sandwich shop in all of greater Boston, and maybe in America. Dom and his crew are so good at what they do, they don't even have to be open normal restaurant hours. This means I can't always enjoy their epic sandwiches, but if I'm ever out of work early or home for a day I make it a point to Get Dom's. I'm probably going to get it for lunch today now that I'm writing about it. While you can't go wrong with anything you decide to get, my favorite is the Caprese Panini. The bread they put their paninis on is unbelievable, and it really helps complete them. My fiance loves their Chicken Parm or Meatball. Really, you can't go wrong with anything you choose. If you live within a 15 mile radius of Dom's and haven't been there, you're not living.

First off, I need to let you know that I'm not a big sandwich person, but I do enjoy a good gourmet sandwich every now and then. So, I was on my way to Panera bread and was thinking that there must be some good sandwich shops in Waltham. Thanks to the Yelp app, I found myself here! I was craving a turkey sandwich and got the D-Lite, which is turkey, spicy honey mustard, roasted red peppers, baby greens, balsamic vinegar, and crusty bread. It was tasty and satisfying, but the crusty bread was just a little to crisp for me as it cut up the roof of my mouth! I have the same problem with some banh mi sandwiches too.

Why is this place in Waltham right next to a gas station? Sinking my teeth into the sauce-soaked fluffy wood-fired roll of a parma sub, my tastebuds indicate that I am in a genuine sub shop in little italy (or even maybe the BIG italy). Wash it down with a can of citrusy Pelegrino and I am ready to take a 3-hour nap. It's great to be a Brandeis student and have an actual good sandwich shop in walking distance. I once had a home-made gravlax sandwich here...I even went out of my way to congratulate the owner for making my day with his food. And he said he made it himself and I went back for it, and it seemed it was only a short-term special. If you work/go here, I implore you to bring back the 'lox!

Worth the wait in the lunch line. They have a great system for getting people through during the rush. I was in the area for business and saw all the great reviews for this place. Definitely accurate. Looking for a delicious salad or sandwich or soup? Go here. There are a lot of different menu items as well as some that are listed along the counter as you pass by. Take it all in and whatever you order will be good, I'm sure. The portions are large, and the prices are low. There are a couple of seats outside if you're lucky enough to have good weather.

  • Rona Y.

Everything here is delicious. I have to stop myself from ordering Dom's for lunch every single day. Perhaps the doldrums of the work week make Dom's seem like a ray of sunshine to all the professionals who scramble for first dibs on the most beloved paninis in Waltham (and dare I say, Boston), but whatever magic Dom's is sprinkling in their food is working! Love everything here, especially the eggplant parm! The antipasto salad is a great veggie dish, and the deli itself is quite vegetarian friendly.

Best Italian sub I've ever had - and others have reported the same to me! I took my young cousin there as a thanks for helping me move and he got the Steak Tip panini (I believe that's what it is) and he loved it! Said it was amazing! A+ on the Italian Sub, Love their arugula salad, love their arancini, love their bread, love the guys and gals who work there! Just trust me and go to this place!

Love this place! I have had them cater parties two times now. I always get a sandwich platter (I LOVE the tomato mozzarella sandwich!) a pan of lasagna and a pan of chicken, broccoli ziti. I get more compliments about the food then anything else at party.. The bread is to die for! I'm getting hungry just writing this! Completely recommend and I will use again.

Delicious. Had the Parma (prosciutto, marinated tomatoes, mozz and basil). Very solid. Probably a 4.5/5. Could have used a bit more mozz and prosciutto. Otherwise, delicious and I'll be back.

Had lunch from Dom's today. Fantastic. Parma sandwich, and an Arancini... fat and happy. Service can be a little brisk, especially when the line is wrapped up and out the door (like it is every day at lunch) but they do a very good job of filing people through quickly and efficiently.

Ohemgee. This place is the bomb. The subs. The salads. The arancini. The cookies. I only gave it four stars because it is a tad pricey. This hidden little gem was recommended by my co-workers as a good place to get lunch when I started my new job a few minutes from Dom's a few months ago. Somebody in the office got a few arancini and gave me a bite. I was hooked. The rest of the stuff they make there is just as good. Only your wallet is the limit! The staff is friendly and attentive, and take out orders are always spot on and on time. I wasn't a fan of sundried tomatoes until I tasted Dom's, which they make in-house.

So I got this vegetarian sandwich. The bread was hearty, plenty of arugula, saturated in salty olive juice, olives, smothered in salty goat cheese. I thought it looked heathy in the picture but it was overwhelming drenched in salad dressing and way too salty to eat without raising your blood pressure through the roof. The spicy salami sandwich was good complete with hot pickled bell peppers. The aracini was definitely the thing to get. Hot breaded cheesy riceball with little bits of porchuitto. Perfect meal for a little picky kid. Grab a fork cause you'll need it. Definitely save room for a shot of espresso. Seating outside this deli was perfect I'm a sunny day. Right by a busy street, wide sidewalks with a few tables. Umbrellas offered some share it the angle was right.

Oh, if only they'd deliver. Sixteen years ago a friend told me about their incredible bread. In addition to their bread, there are fabulous Italian entrees, and , my favorite, arancini. I probably get a dinner from Dominics once a week, and my daughter often purchases the Caprese panini for lunch at work. Lunch time lines are long, however, staff is so efficient the line moves quickly. Darn, now I'm gonna need to go and get eggplant parm.

  • Rachel S.

Worth every penny. I don't remember the last time I had a sandwich this delicious. My entire eggplant parm sub was perfection, from the bread (!!!) to the sauce, and they don't fry the eggplant which is a huge plus. The cannolis were delicious and I'm literally counting down the days until I can justifiably go back, haha. If you live in the area and haven't been, you're missing out! Scoot your caboose on over for some seriously fantastic noms.

Stopped here with a friend for lunch and it didn't really seem like anything too special from the looks of it, but the fact that the line was out the door definitely said something. Sandwich selection was great with a pretty good mix of hot and cold options, and not to mention the baked goods looked incredible. By far the best part about my sandwich was the bread - so upset I didn't try any baked goods after finding this out! Will be returning to try one of those face-sized cookies in the future! Definitely a must try in Waltham for lunch and most likely for dessert as well.

I went here some years ago before it got all this hype around it and was able to get some fantastic sandwiches that were made with care and superb ingredients. Well, let me tell you, I came back for the first time in about 7 years today and it was very different. Granted we were ordering at a busy time, but it wasn't like I remembered at all. I got the Caprese which is what I remembered having all of those years ago. The sandwich was sloppy. I mean it had cheese and tomatoes with basil mixed in, but nothing like I remembered. The bread however, what amazeballs. If they sold that wholesale, I would buy it. And 4 sandwiches? almost 40.00. I say buy the bread and take the time to make your own yummy sandwich.

I've mostly had sandwiches here because I'm hooked on the d-lite turkey sandwich that is served on ciabatta bread with mixed greens, honey turkey, spicy mustard, grilled peppers and balsamic vinaigrette. otherwise I've had salads, eggplant and chicken parm sandwiches - all are delicious! the only complaint I have is that the prices are a bit pricey. typically plan on spending $10 for lunch. so many great things - wish they had more deals, I would try more things ...they have arancini and empanadas and soups too! I had only one bad service experience but every other time it's been good. it's mostly a takeout place since the seating inside is limited counter seating but they have outdoor patio seating too. gave a star for having levelup for a payment option!

  • Maggie H.

I love this place. You MUST get the homemade potato chips (these sell out so fast and the last two times I went I missed out :*( ). Tonno used to be my fave/go-to (can't go wrong with this) but the melenzane is amazing. Eggplant/chicken parm are pretty good (melenzane is better), Italian is good too. Also, the risotto balls are a great snack on the side, the empanadas are pretty good if they're out of the balls.

This local, Waltham gem is one of my go-to places for lunch at work. It's a five minute drive from my workplace and it serves some of the best deli sandwiches I've had in Mass. They bake their own, delicious bread daily and use some incredible, very fresh ingredients as well. It's no wonder that they've been in business for over 30 years. On my first trip there I ordered up a parma sandwich, which is essentially a freshly baked bread roll with some high quality prosciutto, mozzarella and some tomatoes. They throw a bit of basil in there as well and BOOM, you have an amazing, tasty sandwich. I have returned a few times since and intend on eating my way through just about every single one of their sandwiches. Along with those, they also have pasta dishes, salads, risottos and even baked goods. I tried one of their cookies and it was a bit on the dry side though. The service is lightning quick, and they accept credit cards. Parking is fairly easy to get around there as well, whether it being in their private lot behind the shop or metered parking in the street. Most sandwiches are made to order as well. A neat place.

  • Holly K.

I LOVE this place! A word of warning though it does get really busy during lunch time. Don't let the line out the door scare you away though, it moves quite quickly. My favorite sandwich would have to be the Pollo, breaded chicken cutlets topped with house-made fire roasted peppers, olives, capers, and goat cheese! The salads are great, soup is delicious, and pretty much everything else I have had there is great! I work close by so I have sampled a huge portion of the menu. The only downfall to this place is if you eat a sandwich or have a piece of bread you will get flour all over yourself. I'm not exaggerating I mean all over, face, cloths, everywhere! A small price to pay for delicious fresh baked bread.

    (5)
  • Ron L.

If you're a fan of meatball or chicken parm subs, this is your place! The bread is what bread should be with a good crust that doesn't soak through and gives a nice crunch when you bite into it. They bake it right on location and it is fresh. Service is fast and the place gets busy during lunch hours. Parking can be tricky but circle around because the lines move fast and people are always coming and going.

Ummm... Dreaming about their eggplant parm as I write this. Everything is perfection. The eggplant. The sauce. The cheese. The bread. Highly recommended.

It took me a summer in Sicily to realize just how authentic Dom's arancini and Sorpressata are. I personally didn't want to give a five because I wasn't totally wowed by the Serena special last time I ate here, they also have the weirdest operating hours. But the Sorpressa sandwich took me back to Via Vittorio Emanuele in a heartbeat. The sandwiches aren't cheap, and they aren't doublestuffed, but the quality is mind-blowing. I'd also suggest the Ravioli Vanessa, and the cannoli of course. I still can't believe this place is in Waltham.

Get it! Doesn't matter what it is, get it. My fav: basil marinated tomatoes and their fresh bread.

  • Michael L.

I've spent way too much money here but I don't care! I haven't tried a lot of sub/sandwich shops in Waltham but this place keeps me coming back every week (good thing they accept LevelUP). The only complaint as others have mentioned are the long lines and lack of parking in front of the store. With the plaza open across the street its not too as bad anymore as you can just park there. As for the food i've tried most of the paninis and love them all. Standouts include the Tonno (tuna) and Parma (ham w/ marinated tomotoes + mozarella) sandwiches. Their specialty eggplant Melenzane panini is also excellent and is worthy of a try but word of warning can get a little oily! Lastly if you don't mind waiting their steak panini with the pan fried rib-eye is also out of this world. They make all their bread fresh in-house, which is great but can tend to leave alot of flour on your clothes afterwards so be sure to take lots of napkins!

  • Calvin C.

This is as good of a lunch option as you are ever going to find. Definitely not the cheapest option but if you're not going to pack a lunch you can't beat Domenic's. Best meatball sub (on Ciabatta!) I've had in a long time.

    (5)
  • K A.

Great sandwiches. Sinful canolis. Don't think you can do better for lunch (probably can do significantly better for your health, but that is different). Also, Arancinis (sicilian rice balls) are incredible and authentic, if a bit light on the prosciutto.

    (5)
  • Rob H.

Had a steak panini. Just awful. I wouldn't give it to my dog. I was showing it to people around the office and they couldn't believe how it looked. It even tasted much worse than it looked. The bread was stale and the steak was like shoe leather. My office mate had the ravioli and gave it a C-.

I took some friends to Dom's for a little "man lunch" today. I don't think anyone left hungry or unimpressed. Dom's might be a little drive for people who live in the city, but seriously they have the best sandwiches. Last time I recommended the Parma. In truth, it's amazing. But my friend tried the "Dom's Special" which they describe as a "classic Italian with the addition of sweet capicola and prosciutto." If the Parma is amazing, the Dom's Special is flat out ridiculous. Also, we devoured a couple of arancini. They were quite good (especially with a cup of marinara for dipping), but they didn't stand up to the sandwiches.

  • pete k.

P A R M A. That's really all that one needs to know about Dom's. Admittedly I haven't tried the regular dishes - just the sandwiches - but on that front, they are absolute masters. Each is made with their own bread (which you cannot get anywhere else) and top notch ingredients - from the simple parma, to the Doms Special - your mouth will be happy from start to finish.

I just want confirm my previous review...so good! I was walking home for training and I decided to stop for lunch at Domenics and try some more menu items. This is prime lunch time so I was worried because I have been told it gets crazy and all the seats outside were filled as well as the stools inside. I walked in and had my order taken immediately! I got the Tonno and was excited to be able to grab an Arancini ball. I also got some sauce on the side to take home, and they wrapped the container in tin foil for me. I walked the rest of the way home (about 15 mins) and was delighted to have an amazing meal. The Tonno was fresh and cool and everything a 90 degree day warrants, although next time I think I will add tomato, I love tomato. The arancini ball...was MASSIVE! Like softball size and so good. It has bits of ham? or Pancetta? and it adds a savory element to the copious amount of rice inside. It was still crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside when I got home. I am making Domenics a staple in my life. I can't wait to try more.

Hmmm...where do I start??? I guess I should start with how the hell do the people who give this place a 5 star rating only write a mere 2-3 sentences?!?!?! Like really?!??!? If your going to give this place a 5 star rating then please elaborate on how great the food was and why it is worth the five stars. Enough of this... This place is more of a fast food/take out/catering type place I guess because there wasn't any table service or many tables. So we decided to do take out. We ordered our food and jet set our way home for dinner. We get home, unpack our order and OOooh boy was I was disappointed. I should have seen this coming as the food was precooked (Parmigiana, Lasagna, pizza, etc) in a glass behind the counter. But I wanted something hot and freshly cooked so I ordered the fusili chicken & broccoli, which was on the menu but not with the other precooked items. So I figured they'd have to make it fresh. My friend orders the breaded chicken with sauce but no cheese, which was precooked. I placed my order with a female who went directly back to the kitchen to make my food. There was an older white haired man though who took my friends order, he says do you want the family combo or one piece? My friend answers the family combo thinking he'd get bigger portions considering it was called "the family combo". Lets talk about what we actually got and how it tasted. Holly crappola!! My fusili chicken and broccoli was bland as bland gets. I think I tasted only a DROP of salt, olive oil, and garlic. The broccoli was so over cooked that it wasn't green or in tact anymore, it was mushed up. It must have been boiled forever. I was so angry and disgusted I only ate the penne, bitching, with a sad starving face too. Thank god it was small but then again that thing cost me $10. The friends dish?? Hmmm...his portion was in the same small container as mine, mind you he ordered the "family combo". His dish consisted of 2 small pieces of breaded chicken breast with tomato sauce on top, all of this on top of a few pieces of penne. He took his first bite and the first thing he said was "dang, this is cold, I would have thought they'd warm this up and the chicken is sort of dry". This cost him about $15. I will never, ever, go back to this place again nor would I ever recommend it to even my worse enemy. Thanks to this place I will probably not have italian for another year.

While I agree with the majority that this place is amazing and I originally gave it 5 stars, I am now only giving it 4 stars. Mostly because I'm a bad orderer. I get nervous in there, with so many people behind the counter harassing you to place your order, and so many people waiting in line. I never seem to have time to read the menu so I always respond with the same, knee-jerk "eggplant parmesan please". It's delicious and the bread holds up to it nicely. Eggplant is pretty delicate and a tad soggy, so you need a bread that can support it and not fall apart. But, you also can't have a bread that is too chewy and crusty for such a delicate filling. This bread is the perfect balance. And the eggplant is very good. The slices are a little too thin for my liking but the sauce is very good. It truly is a 4-star sandwich. I just wish I knew what to order at Domenic's to get the 5 star experience, because I know it exists. I re-read my previous review and I know it can't be the pizza or the salad that will put me over the 5-star edge. I'm going to keep looking.

FOUR AND A HALF STARS ON YELP?!? I mean, the sandwich was GOOD, but I personally think it was a little overpriced. For 12 bucks (plus an arancini) I thought I'd be a little bit more satisfied.. I got the Dom's Special ( yelp.com/biz_photos/oeVH… ), and as you can see from the picture, there wasn't TOO much filling inside (thus I was not completely satisfied), but it's good if you're looking for a light lunch. The bread was absolutely fantastic.. perfectly balance of crustiness, crunchiness, and chewiness. The meats and the cheeses were fresh. and the flavors of the sandwich went together perfectly. Since I still wasn't feeling satiated, I decided to get an arancini ( yelp.com/biz_photos/oeVH… ). The picture doesn't do much justice.. its the size of my freakin hand! It was a little bit different from any other arancinis I've had.. normally they have a hollow center with either cheese or meat stuffed in it.. the one here was just a solid ball of risotto with very little cheese.. kinda bland if ya ask me. SO, even though it's HUGE, I didn't enjoy it very much.. quantity does not beat quality. sadpanda. Overall, come for the sandwiches if youre looking for a light, fresh lunch!

I stopped by this place one day because I saw a line out the door. And then I read all the positive reviews on Yelp and knew I had to check it out. I got the chicken parmigiana and was really disappointed. The chicken was lukewarm and dry. The sauce was nice and tasted of fresh tomatoes and a little basil, but there was barely any cheese on the chicken. When I asked for a piece of chicken with more cheese (this is all precooked, by the way) I got a bit of an attitude from the employee. So, lukewarm chicken, dry, nice sauce, little cheese. Not so good... Yeah, the bread was good. Fluffy on the inside, crisp on the outside, and fresh. But for $9, I could of gotten a better chicken parm sandwich at any old pizza joint for less $$, though the bread wouldn't be as good. I might try it again but I will definitely get a cold panini next time, which is bound to be better....right?

This place is great. Have been here a couple times now. Had chicken parm, which was awesome, the Parma (one of the more popular items) and it too was awesome, and the eggplant parm - very good. If you've vacationed in Italy, the Parma will bring you right back. Oh man, I want one right now.

I used to work near Domenics over 20 years ago, and had forgotten all about it. Now I work on the other side of town, and I have just re-discovered this place. I just had the best tuna sandwich I have ever had, and had to come here to say so. Moist tuna on best homemade bread with olive tapanade and arugula. Incredible. I dare you to find better in Italy. Don't like tuna? Then try the best TBM you'll ever have. No doubt, everything else is fantastic too. I'll be back here often.

sandwiches are fabulous here- bread is right balance of soft and crusty (it is a bakery...) . Got the Doms Special which is an Itlian with proscuitto and something else I cant remember for meat added. Had balsamic added to it- Yum- O.Id give it 5 stars but my freshly piped cannolli was a bit better than OK- not as amazing as the food, but still a nice flavor and taste!

A little disappointed, Domenic's eliminated their "small" sandwich size and seem to have reduced the amount of meat in their sandwiches. Excellent taste, excellent services, very clean.

Dominic's is fantastic!! Everything here is great, you can't go wrong! Particularly of note are their sandwiches, and their empanadas. You know the bread is fresh when you can see into the back room and you see the 90 year old Italian woman back their kneading dough. This place is certainly a hole in the wall, but the line always exceeds the number of chairs/tables so that's a good sign. The bread is so delicious that anything they put inside of it will taste good. The salads (antipasto and caprese) are also surprisingly large and the balsamic dressing is fantastic. They don't have a gluten-free menu and we didn't even ask about it since we were afraid of the typical answers from uninformed counter help: "So, like, you can't eat sugar?" The salads aren't served with any croutons or bread and the dressing is straight Italian balsamic vinegar so there are some good Celiac friendly lunch options.

It may not seem as authentic is it used to be when the grandmothers used to run this place. But I assume they all died off. The recipes remain while the the portions got a bit smaller, which I think is a good thing to prevent the food coma. The bread is fantastic, which really makes the sandwiches. Italian meats or parmigianas are the must. I sure as hell do not come here for turkey. The line is always out the door. While I take everything to go, I and the car seat always end up covered with crumbs within half a block.

After all the glowing reviews, I guess I was a little let down with the food at Dominic's, but it's still an awfully good place to get sandwiches. We tried 4 sandwiches. The chicken parm was a bit of a disappointment. Nice chicken, but the sauce was underseasoned. The parma ham sandwich was very, very good. The verdi (arugula, gorgonzola cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and balsamic vinegar) and the melanzana (eggplant) were stellar. The ciabatta bread was terrific. Some other smaller things, like the arancini, meat pies, and homemade chips, were OK. Definitely a great choice if you're in the area.

The sandwich bread was crunchy, fresh and just great. The mozzarella cheese was fresh and the important ham was salty and terrific. Truly nothing bad to say. I wanted to try everything. I'll be back

Absolutely worth the wait! I is very crowded and many times there is a wait, but that is because it really is just that good. The sandwiches here are the greatest due to the way they cook them and the freshness of all the ingredients. It is such a treat to go here and have the chicken parm panini. I cant do it all the time, it is really rich, but it is soooooo good!!!

  • B L.

Ok the sandwiches here are really good. BUT really only the cold ones. If you order something like an eggplant parm they have the eggplant already made in a large hotel pan which they do not keep hot enough. This makes for a mediocre sandwich and is also dangerous with regard to health codes. Food must be kept above a certain temp or below a certain temp. The best thing is that they use really good bread. My major complaint other than the way they treat hot food is that its always so insane in there. The people behind the counter can be nuts! Its a very ADD kind of experience. Consequently I always have to bring home or eat in the car.

Best homestyle Italian I've ever had in the US. Hands down. Evah! We used to work/live in Waltham went 3-5x/week. Prices are a bit high for lunch, but I just can't help myself. Also if we get dinner it is around $75. But it is Soooo worth it. I don't need to reiterate all the specifics that all the fab Yelp reviewers have already covered, but now that we are out of Waltham, It is hard to get there, so finding out that they are open until 8:30pm for the summer? I literally just e-mailed my husband and we are planning our Friday around a field trip to Waltham. Ya, it's that good.

LOVE this place. This was the first place I went to upon moving to the area because it was mentioned several times by the Phantom Gourmet. The parma is AWESOMESAUCE. Only other thing Ive tried is the caprese salad - which was also good. 9 out of 10 times though, I get the parma. Everything is made on site and you can tell. The only reason I knocked off one star is because the hours can be a bit funky... I follow their website to trya dn get the most up to date info but there have been a few times Ive gone by when it should have been open, only to find it closed. A bit fickle in that sense, but other than that def. a fantastic place for lunch. On another note... one thing I hate about this place is that they arent open on the weekends. I love this place so much that I would love to be able to share it with out of town friends when they come to visit... but that usually happens on a weekend and sadly they are only open monday through friday :(

Can't believe the hype over this place. Food is decent but way over priced. The bread is delicious though. Not worth waiting in line at lunch time. Parma is good but very light on the prosciutto. Not worth the $.

Very tasty sandwiches! I tried the Serena's Special last time and it was delicious. The homemade bread is really exceptional and though it's of course a different style, I'd put it up there with the French baguettes from Al's South Street Cafe. The prices are definitely on the steeper side for lunch sandwiches, but the quality makes them worthwhile.

Best sandwiches I think I've ever had in my 30 sandwich filled years on Earth. Back when I was carnivorin' my go to was anything with prosciutto. This place is like a brothel for fans of the cured meats. I'm vegged now so I stick to the Caprese mostly. Bread is otherworldly fresh, always. Grab an arancini when you're paying for your goods. They're huge and complement the other 1000 calories you're about to gleefully put away. Dom's is one of the best places to grab lunch in the Boston area.

I wish this Deli were in my neighborfood... Whenever I have a chance to go to this area, I always stop by and grab this amazing sandwich. Parma, their famous sandwich is my best sandwich ever! First of all, the bread has a crispy and chewy texture, which you can not have anywhere else, the prosciutto is nicely aged, and mozzarella cheese is fresh. Second, they use a fine quality of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic winegar. On top of that, the garlic flavor with punch in it......OMG. You are in Heaven. I can enjoy a couple glass of wine with this sandwich. While I write this review, my mouth is full of water.

Holy sub goodness! Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. I don't know what else to say, other than awesome. The subs are delicious. Had the Doms special and the Parma, both excellent. Also, had homemade potato chips. Ate them in the car in 10 minutes. Enough said.

The sandwiches at Domenic's are absolutely delicious. The ingredients are fresh, the bread seems homemade, everything is affordable... Domenic's existence almost successfully tempts me into buying a car just so I could buy their sandwiches more often, which is saying a lot!

Several months and many Dom's trips later, and it's still amazing. Every sandwich from there is awesome - I'm partial to the tonno or parma sandwiches but seriously, everything I've gotten from there is rock-your-mouth off delicious. The bread, the meat, the veggies, the cheese -- all spot on optimized for supreme deliciousness. There for lunch this afternoon, I saw they've just released an iPhone app so you can order from your phone without even talking to a real person and just stroll in to pick up your sandwiches. WHAT?! Awesome sandwiches, easy advance ordering, and, uh, awesome sandwiches. Yesssss

Amazing little bakery/deli. There were a ton of salads and paninis to choose from. Only a couple of pasta dishes. I ordered a Caprese Panini. I was a little disappointed the bread wasn't grilled but still found the bread incredibly good. I also got a warm chocolate chip cookie that was to die for.

So I helped the boy move on Friday and while moving and waiting for the FIOS guy to come, we got hungry! And so the boy suggested that we go to Domenic's since it's relatively close to his new location. Never having been to Dom's but heard so many great things about, it wasn't hard to twist my arm! And you all know how much I love Italian anything! Stepping in on a Friday afternoon, we seemed to have hit the Waltham lunch crowd. BUT don't you worry, the staff here seemed to have gotten their system down pat! We had ordered our lunch and out of there in no time. It moved so fast I had no idea that the boy had already paid for our lunches and was ready to rock and roll. Meanwhile I was still gawking into the display case of hot lunches. I was a little overwhelmed by their menu at first. And wanting to see behind their display case to see what other specials they had for the day, but it was a bit hard to do from behind the long line of hungry folks ahead of me. I had caught a glimpse of their chicken parma and I knew immediately that was what I wanted! And boy was that the right choice! Chicken Parma on their soft Italian bread, pressed to perfection. Which by the way is baked fresh in their store! Talk about authentic and fresh. The bread had the nice rustic texture outside and soft warm goodness on the inside. I also had my first Arancini ball here, which by the way is a marvelous concoction of risotto, sopressa, and cheese (mozzarella?) all beautifully balled up with just the right amount of moisture, not too dry, and not too wet, which created the perfect blend to create a ball of yummy goodness. A return is a must! I have so many things on my list of things to try from Dom's it might take me awhile to get through their whole menu.

I understand why everyone loves this place. And so I write my review with some caution... (for fear of any backlash from devoted fans) ;) Nowhere else can you get a "real steak panini" with a close to 1/4" think slice of tender marbled steak between rustic white bread at just under $10. For that, 4 stars. What I find weird is that the condiments (peppers, onions, etc.) are diced and taste slightly pickled and then heated with the sandwich. It was a good combo, but an unexpected one. And where's the lettuce and tomato I asked for? The roast beef sandwich was great - tasty and worked well with the aforementioned pickled diced veggie thing. The "famous" (as noted on Phantom) chicken parm looked a bit over-nuked from sitting under the heat lamp, and for that matter, a lot of the other offerings looked that way too. Perhaps it was because our visit was around 2pm on a random day. Will have to return for a second sample at a peak time and note any differences.

Domenic's is delicious. My husband and I saw a review on the Phantom Gourmet and had to try Domenic's for lunch. I had a caprese and my husband had the parma. The bread was fresh and perfectly crusty, and really held up to the sandwich toppings. We went on a Saturday so there was a line, but nothing too crazy. Seating is limited, but we easily snagged a table. My only complaint is that Domenic's won't give customers a cup of water. You have to buy bottled, which is a personal pet peeve of mine.

  • Julia Z.

Best panini I have had, anywhere. Most of their Italian sandwitches are extremely delicious, beyond what words can describe. I especially love their fish paninis such as Tonno. If you love authentic Italitian sandwiches you must try this place.

  • Carroll C.

I was excited to try Domenic's after seeing it on "Phantom Gourmet" and after checking out the menu on Domenic's Web site. My Caprese panini was a big let down, though. The mozzarella was nice, though put on in broken, ragged pieces. It was the pile of very cold diced tomatoes tossed in basil and olive oil that put me off most, though...the cheese and bread were room temperature-ish, and so the very cold tomato "salad" threw off the ensemble, so to speak. I ended up scraping those off and having a cheese sandwich for lunch. So, instead of having a Caprese sandwich, I had a Caprese salad on bread.

This place may truly produce the best sandwich the Boston area has to offer. First off, the Dom's special italian is incredible and probably beats anything I've had in the north end. All options are excellent, although their bread, though spectacular, is not as well suited to a parm. They particularly know how to treat eggplant. The best sandwich might be the standard prosciutto but with added marinated eggplant. Empanadas and arancini are both great as is the pasta frittata, though they dont seem to ever have that when I come in anymore.

  • Chris C.

Do yourself a favor and go to Dom's. If you go for lunch, the line will be long, but they move through quickly, just know what you want because ordering is a fast process. The most difficult part of my day can be deciding what to order at Dom's. I used to always order the Chicken Parm, but today tried the Parma. Wow! It may be the most tasty sandwich I've ever had. The bread is great, and the ingredients are always fresh and made perfectly. I also tried an Arancini today, which was outstanding. I wish there was a Dom's closer to my home so I could eat here 7 days a week.

  • Robert R.

Their parma sandwich is something else. It's transcendent. It's a profound experience. Like my friend said, they cut it in half so you can have an intermission to reflect on the extraordinary thing that just happened in your mouth.

  • Kerry D.

This place rocks! Don't be scared off by the long line. Although, I think the best time to come here is at 5 pm to pick up dinner to bring home. No line, and you'll be a hero when you walk in the door at home! The arancini rice balls are TDF. Get one to eat in the car on the ride home. The roast beef custom sandwich, the Manzo, and the fancy tuna Tonno are my go-to orders. YUM!

    (5)
  • Adam E.

I still love the food at Domenic's, but I have to knock them down a star for a few reasons. First, ordering on the phone is a shit show. I hate that. Also, the last time I ordered from their catering menu for a party, they raised the prices $10 per entree from what was posted on the website. That's a significant difference, and if you're going to change your prices you have to update the prices on the web. Otherwise, you're shady.

  • Nathan B.

Dom's is as good as it gets for lunch in Waltham. Their subs are incredible, mainly due to the fresh-baked bread. I've only had the chicken parmesan and meatball, but co-workers swear by the verde, Mediterranean tuna and the Dom's special. If you live or work in the Waltham area, definitely check out Dom's.

  • Dave M.

That menu is too big for just one trip... I'll be going back soon. I got the Manzo (Garlic roast beef, caramelized onion, Gorgonzola, arugula) and have to say that it's a great sandwich. The bread is nice and crusty on the outside, very soft and light on the inside, and wasn't difficult to bite into. Too often when you get a roll with a crispy crust, biting it causes the contents to slide out the opposite side. Not so with Domenic's. Really good quality bread to go along with equally fresh and tasty toppings. Next time (oh, there will be a next time) I think I'll give the meatball sub a shot.

Get the Tonno. or the Caprese. Some of the best sandwiches. Prompt service and an iPhone app which makes even easier for me to give them my money.

Great Zeppole! Great sandwich, quality ingredients, fresh artisan bread. If your in Waltham it is worth stopping at. You get what you pay for. Sandwiches range 7-11 bucks.

  • Daniel M.

As much as I love the sandwiches and other Italian goodies at Domenic's the prices don't justify more than three stars. I'm a big fan of the caprese panini and I get it on just about every other visit here. The selection is quite substantial and the quality is as good or better than one would find in the North End, Little Italy or Federal Hill. In the back a prepared foods kitchen creates a variety of pastas and other Italian specialties enough to satisfy a small supper gathering or a quick family meal. Echoing Holly's comments, though, the late afternoon closing time means diners have to get there by 5:30. And if you're there at lunchtime be prepared to wait in line - it moves, but slowly. There's also a small outside seating area that lends a bit of ambiance and makes a great place to enjoy a sandwich or dessert. Prices are comparable to what one finds in Boston, but if that's not a big issue Domenic's is for you.

Came for breakfast. Place was filled with teens. It's a cozy sandwich shop. Tried the chicken parmesan sandwich. It tasted good but I was disappointed because it was luke warm. I arrived just 30 mins after opening expecting fresh hot food but it seemed like most of the food was left over from the day before and just reheated. Hate to drop 1 stars for that but first impressions count.

  • Walter R.

So so delicious. The bread is baked fresh daily, and awesome! Probably every sandwich is a winner, though I tend to stick to the Manzo (roast beef, gorgonzola, caramelized onions) Verde (greens only, but so delicious) and the eggplant panini. I don't even like tuna, but I'll eat their Tonno sandwich any day. Also good: the arancini by the registers are super delicious risotto-ish balls. Crunchy on the outside and creamy on in inside. At my office we had a small event catered by them - just sandwiches, but Dom's sandwiches seem pretty fancy. Also did a dessert platter - the cookies tend to be a little dry, but the cannoli were quite good. Totally reasonable prices for such delicious fare.

Waltham's equivalent to Boston's Al's Cafe. or in other words, Waltham's "Soup (or shall I say sub) Nazi" The lines get pretty long during lunch time and you can feel pretty overwhelmed by the crowd. However, the wait is totally worth it and make sure to know your order so you don't interrupt the fast flow of the "order and go". They have delicious subs where the bread is super crispy and just delicious. They have a pretty substantial sub/panini menu and offer other exciting Italian fare. What hooked me was the arancini or fried rice balls!!! It is definitely worth trying...they are kind of greasy, but the best I had so far. They aren't mushy but super crispy on the outside and warm and creamy in the outside. This place is definitely worth a visit! If you are bored of your usual turkey sandwich for lunch, add some excitement by grabbing lunch at Domenic's!

  • Christina J.

The incredible caprese sandwich isn't on the menu board (order it and they'll think you're a regular) and is in constant competition with their lentil soup for my favourite thing here. The soups rotate, so they don't always have the lentil. If they had a mailing list to notify people when the lentil soup was up, I'd be on it. The lines are out the door at lunch. They move fast but still plan to wait 10 minutes if you come between 12 and 1. You can save time by ordering ahead (if you have an iPhone, they even have an iPhone app for ordering ahead) but I'm never organized enough for that. The bread is a perfect combination of crusty, soft and chewy, and their ingredients are fresh and simple. The meats are more European style which some people seem to think are too fatty/not processed enough, so if your idea of cold cuts is Schneider's honey ham, you might want to stick to a salad (which are often overlooked here, but good) or the aforementioned caprese sandwich.

The sandwiches are mindblowingly good. I like the pollo and nearly anything with prosciutto. Also the aranicini are as authentic as you will find outside of Italy and the pasta frittata is well worth a try.

When my company provides lunch or dinner, I can usually expect it will be mediocre. So when my department was working late one night and took orders for Dom's, I was intrigued by the sandwich descriptions on the menu, but not that optimistic. I order the Tonno panini with fresh mozzarella (yellowfin tuna in olive oil, olive tapanade, artichoke, baby greens, and something spicy). Best. Sandwich. Ever. (in the USA, anyway. the international title goes to a meatless sandwich from a hole-in-the-wall butcher's shop in Sienna, but that's a story for another day.) Every ingredient was flavorful, the olives were kalimata or something similar, it all blended perfectly, but really made it was the bread. Crusty, perfect ciabatta, nicely floured, clearly made that day. Yum!

I've been eating here as much as my waistline can afford over the past year, and you know how some of the previous reviews shout and scream in a somewhat crazy-sounding way about how good the food is here? Well, I can tell you they're not a bunch of escaped lunatics (so far as I know). They are simply providing a sample of the reaction you will have the first time you bite into one of their meatball subs, homemade gnocchi, Italian paninis or frankly anything they offer. I leave you with a warning: Dom's food has been known to lead to sudden outbursts of joyful screams and and schoolgirl-like giggling. Prepare yourself accordingly...

Yipppppieee! A delightful change from the normal, boring, LAME sub sandwiches that plague the office day after day. Conveniently located right on Main Street, Domenic's offers a wonderful selection of sandwiches, pasta, and pizza. Consistently delicious and a sure thing when ordering for the whole office (there is something for everyone). High quality ingredients smothered all over their own fresh baked bread! And for those days when the lunch monster hits Dominic's offers huge portions. Through often crowded at lunch, if you call ahead they always have your order ready and waiting for you. Like many others have mentioned, the eggplant parm sandwich is a-maz-ing!

My coworker mentioned how great this place is when we drove by one day so I decided I had to try it out. Ordered the chicken parm sub because it was cold and rainy and a warm sammy sounded delish! On homemade bread too. Awesome! I tried to avoid the lunch rush so I went closer to 1, and there was still a small line when I got there. It moved fast and I spent the time trying to see what kinds of cookies were in the dessert case. Oh, mini cannolis too? Yes please!! What a great place for lunch! Loved my sandwich (homemade bread was so good) and the cannoli was amazing! Will be back soon for sure.

i dont get the hoopla over this place. when there is a line out the door, i expect the sandwich to be amazing. but mine was just "eh." the bread wasnt special or tasty. my eggplant was soggy and the sauce was just ok. i wont be coming back here anytime soon.

To quote Liz Lemon, "I believe that all anyone wants in this life is to sit in peace and eat a sandwich." Buy your sandwich here. The bread.. THE BREAD! So floury and deliciously aerated, so delicately soft. The employees are quick, friendly, and create deliciousness on the regular. Their pizza & pasta are also showstoppers.. tomato sauce isn't exactly spectacular but for some reason it's the only tomato sauce I actually enjoy. Reasonably priced. My everyday lunch solution.

I have been here about a handful of times. Never had a bad experience with the food or an employee. I am a Dr at a near by hospital. I had a few minutes to slip out and treat my staff to lunch. I took their order, called it in and went to pick it up. When I arrived the nice kid behind the counter asked for my name and my order. He stated the order back to me but it was wrong. I informed him of the correct order. After returning from discussing it with the manager(white haired gentleman with a napoleon complex), the manager informed me that I was wrong and that I called in the incorrect owner. Shocked by this I was dumbfounded and did not have a witty word or statement to save my life. What happened to the "customer is always right". I guess it is now "the manager tell you what you ordered even though you are a vegetarian and do not eat meat". The food was good but the attitudes left something to be desired.

Since we work in Waltham, but many of my co-workers and I live in or closer to the city - we're still exploring the town and trying to find hidden gems. We struck gold with Dominic's. The Sopressa is fantastic on a warm day, the eggplant parm was amazing (but best for a cooler day), and the italian sub was one of the best I've tried. No I didn't have all three at a sitting - we taste tested at our table :) Outdoor seating is a plus though umbrellas would be helpful, they need to clarify what they consider a panini since they didn't grill any of ours and $11 for a sandwich in Waltham is a tad silly. But all in all, definitely will be going back time and time again!

Truly, truly excellent sandwiches. You can't do better. Here's what you do: 1. Grab your sweetie pie. 2. Get on Route 20 and start heading west. 3. Just past Waltham Center, take a right onto Route 117 4. Get sandwiches and a couple of Oranginas at Domenics (they're all good, so get whatever strikes your fancy) 5. Get back in the car, and take a left to get back on Route 20; keep heading west 6. Depending on the season, go to Walden Pond, or an apple orchard in Stow, or the DeCordova 7. Walk around, smooch, get hungry 8. Lay a blanket down on some grassy hillock or other, and eat those sandwiches!

This place is out of this world. And I have to thank Yelp for leading me to it. The place itself looks unassuming from outside, so I probably wouldn't see it if I was simply driving by. Even if I did, more than likely i wouldn't go in. But then I would be missing out the best sandwich I've had other than the ones that I make myself. I was in Waltham for work, and after discovering Domenic's, I literally went there every single day for lunch. Magic number one is the bread. Crunchy outside and soft inside. I don't know what they do, but whatever they do simply works great. It has got to do with the old Italian ladies in the kitchen. You can see them doing their magic when you waiting in line. Magic number two is their olive oil dressing. I ordered their tuna sandwich. They have two different types. The one I ordered is tuna in olive oil. I think it is simply olive oil, but I think it had crack in it. Because I got the same thing everyday :) If you are in the Waltham area, you have to stop by here. Period!

Totally unimpressive. Went here at 2 on a Friday, no long line but the bread was stale, the roast beef was dry, the chicken parm was cold and the chocolate chip cookie was hard as a rock. Definitely not worth the $20 for those 2 sandwiches and small cookie. VERY disappointed.

  • Robb M.

Get hear early (11:45-12) the line goes out the door and for good reason. The price is on par with a panera bread sandwiches. Nothing is cheap these days so I dont think its fair to call it over priced. The bread is made fresh and complements the sandwiches well. Fresh and tasty with no attitude and a nice atmosphere. There are a few chairs and tables out side to eat at and some counter space inside however it wouldn't be to comfortable with all the people in line. At the end of the day there is a reason there is a line out the door. Well worth trying if you are in the area.

By far one of the most filling Chicken Parmigiana sandwiches I have ever eaten. getdoms.com Fresh crusty ciabatta bread, ooozing with sauce, cheese, and a huge breaded chicken cutlet., $6.50 for a large. My wife had the combo of basil, tomato and mozzarella, and olive oil called the Caprese and had much the same pleasure. $6.50 for a large. If there is a drawback, then it is that it is mostly a takeout venture. Just a few tables outside to match the few tables inside.

The main thing I can say about Dom's is the food is fresh and homeade. I think this is what sets it apart. The bread is so good but not to heavy and the meats they use are top quality. If you go and the line seems long don't stress it moves very fast. The D-Lite is so good with the honey mustard and the balsamic. Highly recommend this place for lunch.

Domenic's is an AMAZING Italian Sandwich shop tucked in ho-hum Waltham. All their sandwiches and subs are made with delicious, out of this world, crusty bread that is WONDERFUL!!! The sandwich filling range from traditional (chicken or eggplant parm) to innovative (yellow fin tuna). The ingrediant, especially the mozzeralla and the arugula, are always fresh. The soups and pasta are also good but I am a bread-girl so I head for the subs. Tiny hole in the wall with not much sitting space so the employees know that and work super-fast. Long lines at lunch but when the weather is beautiful it feels like a victory to snag your favorite sandwich and head over to a park for a leisurely lunch in the sun.

this used to be my favorite lunch place for work...if it was open on the weekend, I'd certainly go there...I love this place, and am missing it not having been there for a couple months now (moved out west)... things to get: the panini di parma, and when they have it the roast lamb...both of them are perfectly balanced sandwiches...eager for a biz trip to the Waltham office right now :)

The bread here is amazing and that makes for an amazing sandwich. Definitely worth the hefty price of their sandwiches...melanzanna is a really great marinated eggplant parm...there are other great delights to be had here...I don't think you can go wrong...I had a fiddlehead quiche once here...and it was great...I've had my share of sandwiches here and it's always a treat.

The Melenzane is amazing - great bread and the eggplant is just right! Super tip: it gets crazy at lunch so be sure to call ahead and they'll have your order ready for you within the hour.

The sandwiches here are unbelievably good. I've had at least four or five different o es I love. The bread though is what really makes it. It's the type of place where grandma is in the back making delicious homemade food.

Best Italian sandwich I've had since moving to Boston. REAL bread. REAL mortadella. REAL. $9 sandwich but worth it.

This place is a hidden gem. Unfortunately for me I only discovered this place the spring semester of my senior year at Bentley, but I made up for lost time as this place makes phenomenal sandwiches and paninis. The bread is out of this world and from the sandwiches to the pizza to the cookies everything is delicious. If you are ever in the Waltham area and are looking to satisfy your tastebuds, get to Dominic's immediately! As mentioned in a few previous reviews the hours are kind of random...

Got an amazing salad here this past weekend... roasted peppers, marinated artichokes and tomatoes, tuna, olives, pickles, field greens mix. Delicious. DELIcious. See what I did there? Now I have to figure out how to rationalize making a stop in Waltham more often....

This is one of those places you hate to recommend because you know passing on a recommendation is going to make for longer lines at lunch. I love the antipasto salad, the caprese and the turkey lite (spicy!). I personally don't like the "hard" bread so instead, I ask for the "soft". No idea what kind of breads these are; I just know my preference is "soft". Enjoy!

This place is great. Everything is fresh and delicious. The bread is amazing. Hands down, their bread is a good enough reason to go there, never mind what's on it. The Caprese sandwich (my favorite) is just the right amount of cheese, tomato and spices. The salads and pastas are great as well. Everything tastes fresh and made to order. Lately, I started using spoolads.com coupons to buy any sandwich and get the second one half-off. Or with student I.D. I get 10% Off.

Domenics is the best Italian take out in Boston- no kidding! The food is fresh, tasty, great sauces but equally important is the fresh baked bread that makes a perfect compliment to any sandwich they sell. The eggplant parm is hands down my favorite and incredible! They also sell food in platters so if you are having a party, they can provide great food and everyone will be wondering where you got it. No, I don't work there, but just to be that close to the source on a regular basis, would be awesome. I actually go out of my way to drop in for lunch. I wish they had a bigger dining room, served nice cold beers and wine and were open for dinner as well.

This place is great! Fresh food, friendly service. I had the healthy option panini and a salad and it was great. Fresh baked bread, they made the salad in front of me with great produce. The place is a little small, and on warm days is a bit hot, so your probably better off doing take out, it's their only downfall. I'll definitely be back though!

I lived in Waltham for ~6 months before I found out about this place.. wish it was sooner! Small place that does get packed mainly around lunchtime, but the wait still isn't long. I've had mainly sandwiches here. Italian is excellent, Dom's special (which adds a couple more meats to Italian) is even better. Chicken Parm was just OK. Pollo is my new favorite although the 2nd one I got had no olives and didn't taste nearly as good as the 1st. Manno with tuna was also good, but a little small. Arancini was tasty; especially the bits of salami/ prosciutto. Canolis were par. I only wish they were open on the weekends!!

My favorite place for sandwiches in Waltham. Their bread is fresh baked and their ingredients are top notch. I have never been unhappy with anything I've gotten at Domenics. Oh and their pizza and cookies are awesome too! I love this place.

Finally tried their potato cavatelli (similar to gnocchi) and it was soft pillows of cheesey pasta goodness! Their tomato sauce is always a tangy treat.

I work just down the street and go here for lunch every few weeks. This place is a little pricey for lunch but that won't stop me from giving it 5 starts. Everything they serve here is absolutely delicious. I could make a meal out of only their bread. Always go early because the line can grow fast. When it's warm out, you can sit outside too, but those tables usually fill up fast.

Phenomenal Italian sandwich shop clearly favored by people in the neighborhood. I had a coppa sandwich: crusty chewy ciabatta bread topped with cured coppa and arugula, and in a crowning touch, marinated eggplant that had been *diced* to make it easier to eat in a sandwich.

  • Darius K.

This is my favorite sandwich shop in the Boston area. It's small, there are long lines at lunch, and the sandwiches are fairly expensive (about $8), but it's worth it. In particular I'd recommend the eggplant parm sandwich, the garlic roast beef sandwich, and the parma ham sandwich. The arancini (balls of rice, cheese, and meat that are lightly breaded and deep-fried) are very good too. The pasta here is also good, although I've only had the gnocchi and the lasagna.

They also have pizza by the slice and arranici (sp?) - it's the fried Italian rice balls stuffed with meat and cheese. yumz!

Excellent sandwiches!! Well, how would I know? I only get the chicken parma. It is so good that I can't move beyond and explore the menu. Let me revise: Excellent Chicken Parm!

I dream about Dom's bread. Seriously, I might eat there every single day of the week if I could possibly do that & still fit in my clothes. Every sandwich I've tried has been great-and I'm convinced it's all in the bread-crusty, holds its shape, doesn't get soggy & gets infused with their balsamic vinegar -so yummy. My ode to the bread aside, I've had their lasagna (pretty good) & arancini (really good) too. Definitely worth a trip if you're in Waltham.

  • Christine C.

  • Sean C.

They're sandwiches are pure inspirations. Don't expect to be satisfied with a mediocre sandwich after engulfing one their finest, Dom's special with everything on it.

But the sandwiches are not to be missed.

    (5)

Amazing food. Quick service even though the line is usually long.

YUM! Really good sandwiches, coldcuts, and bread. Prices are a little bit high for my liking-- but as far as taste goes, Doms sandwiches are great!

  • Bevin C.

Period!

  • Meg N.

  • Chris F.

If you're in the area for lunch, rock one of the paninis here. Everything's good. Except for the little cans of Chino. Argghh

Mmmmmmmmmm. Long lines, good bread, fresh ingredients. Predictable old me always goes for the chicken parm-- I can't help it! Perfect for lunch if you're stuck in Waltham.

I love this place they have the best bread around I mean it reminds of the bread in my it's what really makes there sandwiches so good not to mention that they use departs production well they got a customer for life!

AWESOME sandwiches but get here early, because if you don't the line is super long on weekdays - but also really worth it. I love the parma.

The best place for a sandwich they make homemade bread.....everything is delicious!!!

  • Dave M.

  • Amy C.

  • Muttley D.

  • Brian G.

The sandwiches here are unbelievably good. I've had at least four or five different o es I love. The bread though is what really makes it. It's the type of place where grandma is in the back making delicious homemade food.

  • Rebecca Y.

  • Mari K.

    (5)

I am sooo silly.

best caprese salad in the world ( including italy). their bread is amazing, their italian tuno is amazing... crowded at lunch but totally worth the wait.

One of my favorite place in Waltham for a chicken parm sandwich.

    (4)

There's scant seating inside (6 chairs and a little table). Since the paninis are already largely assembled before you order, the food was warm, rather than piping hot. Still, everything tasted good.

Hands down the best Sandwiches in Waltham and all surroundings towns. The bread is all baked in house, and ridiculously good. I dream about the verde with grilled chicken, its incredible. Tip-You can now skip the long lines, and order online! They email you when your food is ready. It's amazing!

  • Brian S.

  • Logan W.

    (3)

  • Christina V.

  • Theresa V.

  • Liz G.

This is hands down one of my favorite places to eat. The bread it out of this world! I used to work down the street and would go at least once a week. It's worth the trek to try one of their sandwiches. I love there parma sandwich. Can't go wrong, this is one of the best places in Waltham.

  • Dan R.

  • Kim M.

YES. YES.

  • Maya T.

Food is ok. Service is slow slow slow. And kind of disorganized. But in this desert, it's probably one of the only spots for non chain fast food.

Awesome sandwiches. I always get the di Parma and it's delicious. The bread is on point. Tough to eat in because of the small space and can get pretty busy, but they work quick to make the food.

Best sandwiches in Waltham, no question. If this place was 50 miles from my house it would be worth the drive. Great staff, excellent food, and good prices. Can't be beat.

Good service and good food - easy to sit outside and eat in summer - sandwiches and pasta and they even made an espresso coffee for us

  • Chris C.

Don't go here! Especially during lunch! And whatever you do, don't tell your friends! Who wants an amazing eggplant sandwich on fresh bread? Not you! So you really shouldn't come here. Except on the weekends when I'm not around. Then that'd be okay.

    (5)

    (3)
  • Nick B.

  • Michelle C.

I recommend Dom's to everyone! You can't go wrong with fresh baked bread daily and a variety of different sandwiches, salads, soups, and more! I love the marinated tomatoes in anything I order. Love love love this place!

  • Shana K.

  • Christy M.

  • Patrick B.

Delicious. Had the Parma (prosciutto, marinated tomatoes, mozz and basil). Very solid. Probably a 4.5/5. Could have used a bit more mozz and prosciutto. Otherwise, delicious and I'll be back.

  • Hank L.

Had lunch from Dom's today. Fantastic. Parma sandwich, and an Arancini... fat and happy. Service can be a little brisk, especially when the line is wrapped up and out the door (like it is every day at lunch) but they do a very good job of filing people through quickly and efficiently.

  • Alexandra M.

  • Naomi K.

  • Jules E.

    (5)

Amazing sandwiches. I am obsessed with the Parma sandwich. The Verde is really good as well. Definitely need to come back soon to try the Tonno that everyone talks about.

  • Olivia M.

This is as good of a lunch option as you are ever going to find. Definitely not the cheapest option but if you're not going to pack a lunch you can't beat Domenic's. Best meatball sub (on Ciabatta!) I've had in a long time.

Great sandwiches. Sinful canolis. Don't think you can do better for lunch (probably can do significantly better for your health, but that is different). Also, Arancinis (sicilian rice balls) are incredible and authentic, if a bit light on the prosciutto.

Five stars all the way. Try the melanzane panini and the pollo panini. The home made potato chips are rich too. Particularly enjoy the outdoor sidewalk seating during warm months.

Dominic's is fantastic!! Everything here is great, you can't go wrong! Particularly of note are their sandwiches, and their empanadas. Also be sure and throw in an order of their homemade potato chips! On a downer note they do have really strange hours, and the hours listed on their website are not accurate.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
