We've had consistently bad experiences here, and we've eaten there three times thinking that perhaps we happened upon a "bad" night. So three strikes and we're out and will never return! The staff is friendly but the place is run-down and dirty. The food is about as authentic and fresh as Taco Bell and the drinks are uninspiring. Sorry...I'd much rather eat store bought mac-and-cheese at home than revisit.

Yes, this is Americanized Mexican, but that doesn't mean it isn't good! This restaurant has a great selection of Mexicanized foods, and even has a nicely discounted lunch menu. The portions are huge, and the service has always been great. Even with take-out you still receive the chips and salsa that they give you when you dine in. My burrito today was a whopping $7 and I seriously think I have enough left for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. Yes, it is that big of a burrito, I am not even exaggerating. Yum.

El Mediocrity. Plentiful, heavy dishes of Americanized Mexican food. Lots of cheese and jalapenos and salsa and sour cream and...recognize the food? Yeah, it's essentially every c-level Mex joint across the planet. Do I like it? After a couple of (expensive) frozen tequilla drinks, I'd probably eat Taco Bell and smile, but yeah, it's not bad. It's just that I know they don't eat this in Mexico, or LA, to be honest. We really could use a great authentic MexJoint in this area.

For Mexican in New England, it's okay and consistent.

So... the salsa was GREAT! The chips were fresh, veggies were good. VERY NICE staff, very attentive... It's just.... The sauces were strange. My chimichanga was okay, I mean, how can you screw up a deep fried shell with chicken and cheese in it? My husband's enchiladas were not good at all. He hated the sesame sauce on the chicken one, and it had the texture of chocolate. He LOVES food and just couldn't take it. He usually loves those at other places. The rice tasted weird, no veggies in it at all... I've usually seen peas in rice at Tex-Mex places, but even just the flavor of it seemed off. Maybe it's just us, because I've seen both positive and negative reviews for this place on here. Maybe it was an "off" day for them there, but the atmosphere was okay if they would work on their recipes a bit. And we both felt ILL the rest of the night... Not a good sign. WHY IS THERE NOWHERE GOOD TO EAT IN METROWEST BESIDES A FEW PLACES I'M SICK OF? I've had better Mexican in Kentucky (El Azul's or Casa Fiesta). The Tex-Mex in San Antonio (Las Palapas) rocked my socks off. So, it's not that I don't like that type of food... :-(

I've never been to Mexico, so I don't know if Acapulcos is authentic. But the food is excellent. And so are the Margaritas. And so is the service. (The previous reviewer nails it: the service is so quick, it's like magic.) What more do you want? This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Metrowest.

  • Shannon B.

Don't do it. It's family style, barely Mexican food. Lots of parents bring their kids here because of the big portions but... -The refried beans were inedible. -Little to no lettuce on my Tacos -Margaritas expensive and weak. Go to Sierra's instead.

We went here for Father's Day last week. My parents LOVE it. It's really good tex-mex food... the waiters there are really nice and we got the halibut (sooo good!!!), chicken mole (yummm!!) & I got the flank steak (also yumm!!!) and their soppipillas and flan are AMAZING!!! Next time I'm gonna try their enchiladas.. I'm a big fan but am always disappointed at the ones I get in the North East (since I grew up in the South West like 20 min away from the Mexican border haha) Good salsa!!!

The food here is pretty good depending on what you get. I have had great meals and mediocre meals here. Stay away from the seafood and stick with standards like burritos and enchiladas and you will be just fine. They make a might good margarita.

  • Janice M.

I love the warm chips and salsa. They have the best margaritas, and are not stingy with the tequila! My one complaint is the awful septic smell that has been around since the nicer weather. It is really off-putting, and makes me not want to sit in the bar area! If that was taken care of, I'd have no complaints.

Acapulco's is surprisingly good and authentic. I'm from Southern California and the food here is definitely comparable to the fantastic Mexican food found in California. I found the carne asada to be quite tasty and full of flavor, the nachos were very yummy, and the chips and salsa were pretty addicting. The price is great for the quality/quantity and I will be definitely be returning.

Acapulco's is my favorite choice for Mexican food in the burbs. If you like margaritas, try the "Ultimate" with Patron tequila - fantastic! I love tortilla soup and finally tried theirs during my latest visit. It's a nice variation - grilled chicken and avocado chunks make theirs stand apart from the rest. You can sit in the restaurant or there are some tables in the bar area as well where they have a couple of TVs. Between the free chips and salsa and the fairly large portions, you certainly will never leave hungry!

I love Acapulcos! I'm originally from Sudbury and whenever I go home my friends and I always congregate at Acapulcos. I can't find a salad anywhere that is just like or as good as the tostada salad there. I even eat the salsa there, and I pretty much hate everything about tomatoes. They have even gotten me to drink margaritas when I don't like tequila...are you seeing a pattern here :)

Acapulco's is your typical above-average chain in your typical suburban area. And when I say above-average, I mean better than Qdoba or Moe's. There are many times when I am totally craving Mexican food and really want a good margarita, some hot tortilla chips, and refried beans, and this is when I head to Acapulco's. I like their selection of seafood enchiladas and their vegetarian fare. I think their prices are a little high, but you do get a good amount of food. Also, the wait is generally pretty short, even when the restaurant is crowded. So, if you want a tasty helping of Mexican food that isn't necessarily authentic or healthy, Acapulco's is for you.

  • Geoffrey K.

The food was very good, but not great. I would especially recommendthe fish tacos, which you don't always see on the menu in this part of the country. The ambience was very pleasant with a Southwestern theme. The restaurant consisted of several small rooms, so it was quiet. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and they were very child friendly. The prices were moderate, and there was a children's menu.

  • Jason C.

Another Yelper spoiled by the excellent Mexican food California has to offer, this is probably the best you're going to get here. They make a nice margarita also. Have a (too small IMHO) vegetarian section of the menu which many other Mexican places don't offer.

  • B M.

Average Americanized Mexican food at best. The building itself is old, beat up, ugly and outdated. Like 1986. The service is quick and below average, I think they wanted us out quick, wanting to turn our table in 30 minutes. The food is okay at best. I had fajitas, wife had tacos. Not very impressed, not much flavor. We won't back.

  • Vin S.

This is very good Tex-Mex cuisine at amazingly good prices. The drinks are good, the food is great. Love the warm chips and homemade salsa as a starter. The staff does a nice job. It can get a little cramped and the bar area is not anyone's idea of big, but if you're looking for good, hearty Tex-Mex fare, you could do a lot worse than Acapulcos.

  • Fred L.

Really great Mexican food. There isn't many Spanish food places in the area, so it's great they are in town. I travel all over New Englad for work, so I eat out a lot and when I am in specific area I like to find a reliable place to eat and I always have a great meal here. I get the carne asada, chicken fajitas or the chimichangas, and they are all great. The portions are huge, and the waiters are friendly.

  • Hilda W.

Start with a truly fantastico El Presidente margarita and anything will taste great, but the food here is genuinely good Tex Mex. We love the chicken and steak fajitas...tasty meat and delicious grilled vegetables with a full plate of fluffy rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream etc. One order is more than enough for two people. The chips are fresh, as is the salsa, and the margaritas are potent and full of fresh lime juice and tequila. The wait staff is friendly and service is very fast. We go here quite a lot and recommend it.

acapulcos consistently delivers. everything is delivered to you so quick, it's like magic. the food is delicious, and so are the margaritas - i've never met one that i didn't like. definitely the best mexican restaurant in the area. GO.

I love mexican food and this place hits the spot. I grew up in the western united states where good mexican joints were a dime a dozen. Here in Mass; however, it is really hard to find a good mexican place. Acapulcos is exactly what I miss. Their food is cheap (really cheap at lunch) and very filling. Their homemade salsa is perfect, and it goes wonderfully with the homemade chips.

We enjoy going here because the food is good and they really cater to the whole family, particularly young kids. Service is perfect, drinks are good and food is authentic.

  • bob c.

I think they freeze the dishes with all the ingredients and warm them up later when you finally order it. Not terrible, not inedible, not bad if you get fajitas with shrimp at all. The service is fast and they get the crowds in and out rapidly, which is good because it is always crowded with families. Kids love it. The place could use a good hose down. I still go back because hey, it's a Mexican restaurant chain, and what can you expect for such a low price?

    (2)
  • Jessica N.

Acapulcos is pretty tasty. They have good drinks and good chips and salsa. It's a pretty typical mexican restaurant. It's a good place to go get a drink with co-workers after a tough day of work. Nice atmosphere and nice staff.

  • R. S.

We have had many going away lunches here for students returning to school. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered, and I have not had a single complaint from anyone that I have gone with. I think we have covered most of the menu with the standouts being the steak burrito. The price is very reasonable considering the chips and salsa and the good size portions. It is definitly someplace to try if you are in the area.

The best Mexican food I've ever had on the East Coast, hands down. I have high standards after five years living on the West Coast where authentic Mexican is easy to find. Not so true in New England. I highly recommend the Jalisco salad: lettuce, sliced mango, pico, cucumber, black beans, avocado, and corn topped with juicy skirt steak and an addictive mint-lime dressing. Out-of-this-world good. So good I didn't regret ordering the usual calorie bombs, like burritos or street tacos with a side of rice and beans (also excellent). Everything tastes fresh, prices are fair, and the service is fast and friendly.

BEST SANGRIA! Service has always been friendly and attentive and entrees are delivered quickly. The bar is great for a small group but they will accommodate larger parties with no problem. By far the best Mexican food and cocktails in the area without question. I look forward to going back!!

One of my favorites Mexican restaurants. Chile queso for the complimentary chips is always the best and great for an appetizer- usually do Chile Queso or Buffalo Wings for an app. They recently got new menus with a lot new entrees. The decision between getting the steak or chicken fajita quesadilla or a chimichanga (cancun or El Paso are my favorite) is the hardest They got a new dessert menu as well- The Cheesecake Burrito is new and it's great. Or the Fried Ice Cream is very good too

It's a typical Mexican restaurant with the colorful tables and seats, pretty much what I expected. Margaritas were overpriced... My guests margarita had tasted as if the ice cubes were made of salt water. Also, there was a fly swarming our table for the entirety of the meal. The food was good and service was efficient. Not much else to say.

  • Michelle C.

Had a hankering for fajitas and wanted something close... This hit the spot! The fajitas came out hot and sizzling and smelled so good! The onions were so yummy too! Got the combo with chicken and beef, both were tasty but the beef was definitely more flavorful. Lots of refried beans and rice....beans good, rice not so much. Fast friendly service and appreciated the attention to our toddler. They brought out special salsa (not spicy) for him and a manager was constantly walking around making sure all the diners were enjoying their meals.

Welcome back to the suburbs. This is an American-style Mexican restaurant that is safe for the entire family. If you are looking for something authentic, then keep going down the street (to Waltham, probably). But, if you are looking for the standard fare of burritos, enchiladas, etc. served in a colorful cantina style room -- then you really have the right spot. There is nothing terrible about the food. It is just very much suburbanized. And, it has balloons for the kids! (Really.)

I absaloutly love this place. I've been going here for over 10 years now. They acapulco chicken burrito is so good, tasty, hot fresh and so friggen delicous. Everything is so good. I even eat their guacamole ...and I don't like avacados haha!

  • Sarah C.

Ahh this place just keeps getting worse. Their meat portion sizes have severely decreased while their prices have gone up. We ordered the steak and shrimp combo - the steak came out a small piece of paper thin (literally that thin) meat and 3 pieces of shrimp for $17. The fajitas came out piled high with onions and peppers but barely any steak and the steak that was there was way overcooked and extremely dry. The onions and peppers were burnt, The chile con queso we started with was the consistency of basically milk. And it had maybe a handfull of little pieces of something in it but you couldn't make out what was in it. The guacamole that came on the side had no texture to it at all and was already browning. I had somehow always tried to overlook how unclean it is in there but I just can't look past it anymore. I don't think their walls or lights have been cleaned since they opened. There are clumps of dust and cobs stuck all over the walls.

Authentic Mexican decor. Fast service. Delicious and flavorful food. Plenty of parking. 4 stars bc the frozen margaritas are extremely watered down. Other than that, all around great experience.

For a local Mexican restaurant in the Boston area, they generally get it right. I especially like the shrimp dishes, which are all somewhat similar and very good.

  • Jonathan E.

Service is amazing. Margaritas are wonderful. Being from Southern California and knowing what good Mexican food tastes like...Acapulcos reminded us of being home. The nachos are huge and delicious. Got it with the shredded beef and it's a meal by itself. The tortilla soup and the meatball soup are delicious. We haven't had a ton of items on the menu because the ones we found we love and order again and again. I especially like the shredded beef burrito. Portions are big so be warned. If you have room for dessert then you should give the deep fried ice cream a try. It really is fantastic. Last time we were in they served us guacomole that wasn't so fresh. Also weird odor in restaraunt. Will go back but not racing beck like we used to.

I really like the Acapulco's chain but the service AND the food at the Framingham location - just a few miles away - is MUCH better. The waiters at this location - with the exception of one really friendly guy - all seem to be distracted and irritated to be waiting tables. The food is good but just not as fresh or as flavorful as the food at the Framingham spot. Go a few more miles and enjoy yourself more.

This place is great! Great drinks, really good food. Chips and salsa need a little work, but hey, they are free. Prices are a bit high, but reasonable. My fiance and I have been there twice and both times we spent around 80 including tip for 2 entrees and 4 drinks total. I would absolutely recommend this place.

  • Lauren H.

Had dinner here with a few co-workers last night. I had the spinach enchiladas off the vegetarian menu (not a veg, just looked tasty). They were very good. They came with black beans which I think were cooked from scratch because they weren't quite cooked enough. The beans were edible, but a bit al dente for me (am I allowed to use Italian adjectives while rating a Mexican restaurant?) Everybody else cleaned their plates so it must have been good. The only reason I didn't rate it 4 stars is the service was a bit slow. We really wanted drinks and it took quite a while for someone to come by and take a drink order after they had dropped off chips (the person who delivers the chips doesn't speak English or take orders). I ordered the El Presidente margarita, it was not a mix. It was fresh lime and made perfectly. So perfectly, I drank two! I'd go back.

I can't give it a 1 because I didn't get food poisoning. After driving by this place for about 7 years, I finally decided to give it a try since there was always a bunch of car in the parking lot. I don't know why there are a bunch of cars in the parking lot. I became suspicious with the margarita: "fresh lime juice" with the suspect after taste of mixer. It was OK, but I could have gotten bottle of mixer and made one just as bad at home. con queso dip: told it was spicy....it wasn't. mixed it with the salsa for a bit of spice but i'm not sure on what planet this would be considered 'spicy'. pork carintas :where to begin. I really think it was corned beef. no spice, no flavor. my dinner companion's comment summed it up "that's a bite of no flavor". Standard canned sides of beans and rice. I won't be going back.

The restaurant is very chilly in the winter, so bring a sweater. However, the drinks and food are excellent. The staff is very friendly. I've tried the chicken fajitas which were great. Their steak is very flavorful and tender! Their portions sizes are quite generous, so come hungry :)

  • Richard L.

WTF. All of a sudden the food sucks. Salsa like water. Greasy chips and tasteless food.

    (1)
  • Blanca M.

Favorite Mexican restaurant! I recommend the Chile Queso dip to start off with the chips! Acapulco Burrito or Arroz con pollo or camaron is usually chosen after that.

    (5)
  • Jesse B.

The food is usually pretty good but sometimes the service lacks. Good Mexican food that is better than other offerings in the area. Today the service was excellent and quick. A minor glitch in the making of one dish makes it lose a star however.

  • Joseph M.

I always enjoy this restaurant. The food is always consistently great! The service is very prompt. The meals come out of the kitchen fast and hot! The chips and salsa are fresh, great Taquila selection. No reason not to stop here when ever I find myself driving close by. I recommend all who read this to stop in for a margarita or two, some great authentic Mexican food.

I went to another acapulcos and liked the food. Then I went to this one in Sudbury and my family was treated like dirt by the stupid girl who claims being the daughter of the manager in the front desk. Extremely rude and disrespectiful. We left and told her that we will never step into any acapulcos again and she coldly said: that's fine you can go. So be it.

    (1)
  • Karyn V.

The only place worse is Blue Agave. The food here is bland and full of cheese. The desserts were good, and so were the drinks. If that's all you want this is a great choice. If you want a meal though, Margaritas & El Huipil are way better.

  • Doug F.

OK... another one I had to write about. We've been going to Acapulco's for a while. Great place for kids, I think. I do like their margaritas as well. We have some dietary restrictions - gluten free - and we've never had a problem, we've just asked for corn versions of things instead of normal wheat flour, though that may not work for everyone. We've always liked the chips and salsa. The kids get quesadillas and my wife gets the fajitas. I try different things, but my favorite is the arroz con camarones (shrimp and rice). They give you the flour tortillas with it and tastes great. We've never had an issue with service. I did get takeout once that got screwed up (a different burger than what I ordered), and they gave me a "credit" for it under my name (I didn't feel like driving all the way back for another burger)... unfortunately, when I went to claim the credit a month or more later, the manager insinuated I had asked because I overheard someone else ask to use an old credit. I didn't have enough details of dates of when he extended the credit so he gave me a very small credit only. Still, I can see how this could be abused so I don't totally blame him. Next time if it happens, I'll be sure to get some details to help remind him. Overall nice casual atmosphere, not fine dining, but good family friendly place.

After five years finally stopped in this place. Truly underwhelmed. Upon entering the host was fairly indifferent and ultimately my server seated me. The menu was standard tex-mex with some New England tweaks here and there. Decided on taco plate, 1 pork, 1 beef and 1 chicken with rice and refried beans. Rice was flavorless and the beans were too salty. The tacos pass but were tough and stringy not tender in the least bit. I saw my waitress thrice the entire meal. She seated me, one. She took my order, two. And she brought my food and bill, three. That is it, busboy brought my check and took care of my water refill. Oh, only 2 other tables occupied at the time, so not busy at all. Will not return, school lunch -esque tex-mex. And on a non related thing, what's the deal with French fries on the menu at every tex-mex place in New England? that s#!t is weird.

Overpriced, small portions, and the food is mediocre. Do yourself a favor and go to Margaritas in Framingham.

  • James C.

This place receives a lot of negative comments, which I'm not certain are deserved. If you are looking for elegant gourmet dining, this isn't the place for you, but if you want friendly service by an attentive waitstaff, large postions of decent authentic Mexican food at a low price, and don't mind a crowded, casual, noise-filled restaurant, this place is all that. I discovered Acapulcos after both Sierra's and Daniela's Cantina closed. The tortilla chips are always served warm with mild and/or medium salsa. The menu is extensive as it offers a wide variety of food choices. The cuisine is tasty with the just the right amount of heat. Good value for what you get. Writing about Alcapulcos has made me want it, so I'll be taking the family for dinner tonight.

  • Wally C.

This place delivers, casual food and atmosphere, I am not Mexican and I'm sure they will say that Acapulco's food is not authentic but for people like me that are used to the Mexican-American flavors this place is perfect!!! Just bring a good disposition since it will be crowded with kids, it is a family restaurant after all! We always come back for their Margaritas and quesadillas...

    (3)
  • Michael S.

This place was the clear winner vs Sierras..but now that Sierras is closed and there is nothing to compare it to in Sudbury...... Meh! It is one of those big food, great "value" family restaurants. My kids like it because they get to fill up on the chips. Salsa is watery and the heat is muted. Drinks are standard. Nice waitstaff and it is a very kid friendly restaurant... but, this is not very authentic Mexican. Definitely feels more like a "Tex-Mex" chain in the mid-west.

Over 5 weeks ago I took my family to this restaurant. I ask for the mojarra frita . Fried fish. This fish. Was so bad. The fish wasn't clean and taste was so bad, never will eat again at this restaurant. I hope some one can call health department

Great Mexican food! My husband and I get takeout at least once a month from here. The chips and salsa are always fresh and we always get the chili con queso which is very addicting. And my go to dish is the fajita burrito with chicken. It comes with rice, beans, guac and sour cream. Everything is flavorful and I LOVE their beans! The dish over all is really good!

Avoid this place even if you're desperado for Mexican. You keep hoping it will get decent but you come away wishing you didn't. Hint: asked my Mexican landscaper if there are any good Mex restaurants in the area. He said No. The only places he goes are all in East Boston! Be advised.

Came to Sudbury for the night with my boyfriend for a valentines weekend and happened to go by the restaurant and decided to try it since it as next to the hotel.....what an amazing choice.....the salsa was fresh and delicious!! We got the queso which was also amazing and both got the carne asada....the steak was cooked so perfectly and seasoned deliciously and the tortillas were like you had Mexico in your mouth....they were in house made and had a smokey taste about them! I can't wait to go back again

Had lunch there. Very disappointing food.my taco salad was the worst I ever had. I should had went to Taco Bell. Cheaper and better. The place was not busy and all servers were standing at the front desk. That is a no no.

  • Shannon Z.

Food was actually pretty good, for east coast mexican food.. as a southerner i prefer texmex.. but the queso was yummmy!!! The service could have been better, never offered or came by to see if i need a drink refill.

This is one of the better Mexican restaurants in the Framingham-Sudbury- Natick area. Not quite as good as Aztec, but much closer to me. We go to Acapulco's every month or do and it is always good.

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE tex-mex and Acapulcos never lets me down. They have great service, consistently delicious food, a great drink menu and ample parking. I have never had a bad experience here and their Cadillac Margharita is a force to be reckoned with. Definitely a place to go with groups, for a casual date or even just drinks.

    (5)
  • James B.

Very good basic Mexican meals and drinks. I has fish tacos which were really good. The chips are hot and most everything is prepared well. Ask for the hot sauce! Took 1 star off because, as others have noted, the place could have been cleaner and the drinks are a bit weak.

    (4)
  • Doug M.

We go to both the Framingham and Sudbury locations every few months. The take-out food last week in Sudbury was very good. It never fails though - both locations always screw something up in the order. This time there weren't any fajitas for the fajitas!!!

  • Alyssa J P.

Not my favorite burrito in the world, but I'm glad Acapulcos has a nice variety of vegan/vegetarian options. I came with extended family after an afternoon at Garden in the Woods, and it was definitely a good place to bring a mixed crowd (2 vegans, 2 pescetarians and the rest omnivores). While I thought the food was nothing to write home about, the service was excellent.

Went here Thursday night for my niece's 17th birthday. Twas lovely and our waiter was perfect. My glass of Sangria was nice and strong. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas which came with tasty Spanish Rice, and sides of guacamole, sour cream, chunks of shredded cheddar, shredded lettuce, and chunks of tomatoes. The sliced, grilled chicken came sizzling on a mass of roasted onions and green peppers. Total YUM! Love those flour tortillas you wrap all that good stuff in too! My mother ordered something with spicy grilled jumbo Shrimp on top of the Spanish rice, lettuce, and tomatoes. This came with side of sour cream that had scallions mixed in too. Nice touch. She loved it and LOVED those leftovers. Acapulcos is extremely generous and it would be tough to go home without left overs. My sister let the waiter know it was my niece's bday and we sang "Happy Birthday" to her in Spanish and English while she wore a HUGE blue sombrero with gold embroidery on the top and rim of the hat. They gave her real Strawberry Ice Cream with Chocolate Sauce which she said was delicious. We all had a wonderful time. One final note, I've been to the Acapulcos in Milford and found their floor setting for tables and booths very cramped. This made the areas seem crowded and you could overhear peoples' conversations. This one in Sudbury has a far more relaxed and welcoming feeling. The tables and booths are spread out. Also, I saw four vegetarian meals on the menu. I will be back and I will bring my vegetarian friends!

Always reliable good Mexican food. Have just been in CA and it has inspired me to review my fave Mexican place near home. The camarones a la mexicana is my go to dish. Sometimes it is fabulous sometimes just good but always worth getting. Ask for flour tortilas with it and it is awesome. The other go to is the El Paso chimichanga. Chicken chimi covered in cheese sauce - how can you go wrong? Homemade chips and salsa always good as is top shelf margarita. In an area of Mass lacking in good places to eat this is a standout.

Dog food. Stay away unless you like fake Mexican food or fat people.

I LOVE this place!!! The food is so delicious and it always come out really fast! I've been to other Acapulcos locations, and this one remains to be my favorite. I'm so happy that it's right down the street. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the servers can be very unpleasant. They never smile. They always seem like they're having a bad day. I always feel like they don't like me or something lol. I think their servers could use some training on how to be PLEASANT!

Yet another first date disaster. The dude showed up with greasy hair and a certain je ne sais quois that wafted over from his side of the table..... Driving up, I just knew that the evening wasn't going to end well. Acapulcos was painted a tacky shade of turquoise and definitely could have used a fresh coat of paint. I wasn't going to let that stop me. I continued to be optimistic re: both the guy and venue. We were seated promptly. At the table, the chips were cold. I didn't like the salsa-it's served in a carafe that is reminiscent of a Pace Picante bottle. In fact, the salsa also reminded me of something out of a bottle. In an empty restaurant, I felt pushed to order before I was ready. I was too busy having an awkward conversation with a guy I wanted to run from. THANK GOD FOR MARGARITAS! I'll have mine on the rocks with salt. "What's that Mr. Disaster Date? You don't drink? Awesome!" I did enjoy my chicken mole enchiladas. I just wished that there was more mole sauce on in. The flavor was pretty good. More uncomfortable conversation. For a place that was in such a hurry to take my order, they sure were lagging around when it came to bring the check. Won't be seeing the guy or returning to this place any time soon.

i guess i'm spoiled, but i'd say that this place was just OK. I felt greasy and a little sick when we left. I'm not surprised b/c my parents have lived in Sudbury for over 15 years (back when this was a 99!) and i'd never been here before. Now i know why.

This is one of our go to places to eat. I love the service and attentiveness of all the staff. The owner came by to ask if we needed anything. My choice for the evening was the fajitas for two with chicken and steak. It was cooked well and served hot. I was able to bring some home for my husband to enjoy for his lunch the next day. Many of their meals are substantial and can be shared. I often choose different meals to get a better sense of the different flavors and combinations of food. There were three birthdays celebrated there during our visit and the wait staff arrived to sing to the lucky birthday attendee.

Acapulcos is very good. This is a great local mexican spot, especially for a casual weeknight dinner with that special someone. The chips and salsa is fantastic. Check this place out if you enjoy a delicious mexican meal: you cerrtainly won't regret it!

Awesome margaritas. The food is spectacular! If my spouse would allow it, I would eat here all the time. Service is good even when they are slammed. Definitely check out their enchiladas. SOOOOGOOOOD!

So, I will say this: the service was impeccable and attentive. I'd give the service five stars---one of these two stars is for the service....I may be biased having grown up on ultra-authentic Mexican food, but this place had it all wrong. I came here craving carne asada. I wanted carne asada tacos. I got carne asada enchiladas. First, the carne asada was not at all seasoned, it was leathery and charred. The mole was completely flavorless and boring. And no cheese in an enchilada? Really!? I will say the refried beans were pretty delicious and they DID have orange soda-which was nice. Other than that, I won't be going back.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant a couple of months ago for a casual meal and were not disappointed. The ambiance is friendly, but the lighting a bit too dim and the physical appearance of our surroundings made me question the cleanliness of the place. There was a wait for the dining room so we opted for a table in the bar section. It was loud, but not overbearing like some restaurants. We were able to hear each other in our little corner. The concern I felt over my first impressions was dispelled once we started eating. The drinks were excellent and our food was tasty. I had the fish tacos and really enjoyed them. Service was prompt and friendly. I think we will go back.

For real Mexican food this locale wins hands down. I was a regular customer until I moved from the area. When the staff actually looks of this nationality you know the food is authentic. Sorry, if I didn't say that in the politically correct way.

My fiance and I decided last week out of the blue that we really wanted Mexican food, so we looked on line for Mexican restaurant near where I lived and I found Acapulcos in Sudbury. I have driven by the restaurant many times on my way home from work, but had never actually tried the place out. So we decided to go and it was the best restaurant dining decision I have ever made. It is a quaint restaurant and beautifully decorated, it made you feel like you were in the Southwest and Mexico. They gave us chips and fresh homemade salsa and then I ordered a margarita, because margaritas and Mexican food are always a fantastic mix. I ordered the blue moonlight margarita and I took my first sip and wow! The drink was delicious and really had a good kick to it, the best margarita I had had in awhile. We then decided we were going to order an appetizer before our meals so we got nachos and then we ordered our meals. My fiance got the Chile con Colorado and I got the Fajitas Tacos. The appetizer came and it was huge, it was a meal unto itself, at that point we kind of regretted getting the app along with our dinner. The nachos were delicious, plenty of toppings and we only got halfway through before we had to have to boxed up to take home with us. Before we knew it our meals arrived and to our amazement our entrees were huge as well, they definitely do not skip out on the portions here! My fajitas tacos were amazing, along with the side dishes that came with it Spanish rice and re-fried beans (homemade, not from a can) My fiance had the Chile con Colorado, which was also amazing the red sauce that was on the meat was sweet and had a little kick to it, but it was so good. We ended up taking home portions of our meals too, but it was so well worth it and boy were we stuffed! Strong recommendation: If you are getting a meal and an appetizer I recommend only the meals, because there portions are so large. We spent about $47.00 for our meal, but for all we got the price was worth it. There drinks are very well priced all margaritas on the menu are under $10.00! The service was fantastic, our waiter was very polite, and the cool part was he spoke in both English and Spanish and I was able to use some of my Spanish that I learned in colleges to communicate with him. Overall this was a fantastic dining experience and I highly recommended this restaurant and I now have a favorite Mexican restaurant Holly

Acapulcos's is a popular choice for Mexican food in the Sudbury area. They have a nice selection of typical Mexican style dishes and make a pretty tasty margarita. The food is good here, it's not great but it is all around solid. The service is usually pretty good and everything for the most part is affordable. I usually go with the enchilada dishes when I eat here. They offer a nice selection of burritos, tacos and fajitas as well. There usually is a pretty nice selection of specials as well. For the most part I like Acapulco's, I just don't love it.

holy shit it's tex mex in a boston suburb and it's... SORT OF GOOD! HOT CHIPS: check YUMMY SALSA: check FAST FOOD: check SLOPPY, SAUCY, MESSY, CHEESY ENCHILADAS: check checkity check REFRIED SMELLY BEANS: check DELICIOUS FLAVORFUL YELLOW RICE: hell fire another check! SHIT YA'LL! i thought you were hopeless and it turns out a corny chain in friggin' sudbury has [i'll ask once more, please reference larry david] pretty, preeetty, preeeettyyy good TEX mex! hot damn, really. too bad i practically need a charter bus and a pillow to make the drive over... 4 stars for decent tex mex! (it get's an extra star because i'm pretty sure it's one of a kind... everything else is "authentic" mexican, which is fine, but soooo not the same)

Love love LOVE this place. Okay, I've never been to Mexico so I have no idea how "authentic" it is. I just know that I like my south American foods SPICY and DELICIOUS. This place rocks both categories hardcore. First, you get chips. And these chips are warm and crispy with just the right amount of oil and salt. Then you get a salsa that's made right there in the kitchen and is medium spicy. For people who are hungry as soon as you get into the restaurant (um, everyone?) this is amazing. If you want more spicy, for the really painful stuff, ask for chopped habanero, which will come to you looking kind of radioactive (it's bright orange). Yikes! Entree wise, I usually get the fajitas, but the enchiladas and burritos are awesome too. Always saucy, always spicy depending on what you are ordering. Don't forget your platter will be overflowing with refried beans and rice. I have never once left this place unsatisfied or with any complaint. Did I mention that the waiters have hawkeye vision and if you run out of chips you can expect your basket to be whisked away, filled and replaced post-haste? How about the time we were in a hurry and had our entire meal in twenty minutes, from entering to exit? Wow!

Acapulco's is a fun Mexican go-to and worth the drive for anyone who lives in the greater Boston area!! I have been there countless times with just one or two other as well as in large groups. Absolutely great good, drinks, and atmosphere. Really enjoyed everything I've ever ordered and the people there are great. I like the decor quite a bit plus they have just about every type of margarita, sangria, burrito, churro, enchilada, quesidilla, chile rellenno......well, ever. You name it they got it. Took off one star because the seem to vary from location to location. The Framingham restaurant is not so nice. I guess that scarred the Sudbury locale for me too!

I've been to Acapulco's a few times and this was my second visit to this establishment in Sudbury. My wife and I had our "date night" and she wanted Tex-Mex. I mentioned Acapulco's since we both liked this place. However, we both were a little disappointed in the food quality. It was ok. Chuck, dinner lasted ~35 minutes, as they had us in and out quickly. I wished we knew the date would take us further south as we would have gone to Margaritas in the Natick area.

Been here many times over the last 5 years. Me and the GF eat here on a regular basis. My headline is" If I like it, it must be good" ..Well this place is good. I have eaten at many of Bostons mexican restaurants over the years, and Acapulco's is top-notch. The food is authentic tex-mex and it is served by an experienced staff. We love the steak fajita's and the El Presidente Magarita's.

This is one of the best Mexican places in the Boston area. If you're looking for good mexican and tex-mex food, this is the place. You start with fresh, warm tortilla chips and salsa while you look over the menu. There are a few non-mexican choices for people who don't want to eat mexican. Their dishes are tastefully done and are americanized, but still retain some authentic flavour. I love their chicken mole enchiladas and just about everything else on the menu. If you're looking for something spicy, be sure to ask them to turn it up for you as most of the dishes aren't spicy at all. This Acapulcos is not related to (and is much superior to) the Acapulcos in Watertown. However, it is owned by the same people as those who own Ixtapa Mexican Cantina in Arlington (also a really tasty place).

My 1st 5 Star review! And well worth it! The only possible complaints I have with this place is that it's not in a major area, Rt 20 is a busy commute and all, but not downtown Main St. Also the outside could use a fresher paint job, a bit of peeling paint chips. That's it Where to start with the good, well last night I took my Bride to be their for her Birthday dinner. We sat down, she got a Blue Cactus Margarita, and I got a Corona. Chips and home made salsa was served by another waiter while ours got our drink. MY GOD these chips can be a meal all their own. She knew what she wanted, looked it up online during work, whereas I like to actually look at the menu at the restaurant, so we ordered an appetizer and the waitress said she would put in that order and wait and come back for me to pick out my entree. We got the Baja Chicken Taquitos for an app. They were crispy, and tasty and went well with the Guacamole We both had chimichanga's, I also had a burrito and enchiladas (my fav) The food was all seasoned delisioully served with rice and refried beans, not nearly as salty as 'authentic' Hispanic food, but in truth I like it that way. Many places actually over salt their food to sell more beer this place didn't it knows their customer's pallet and caters to it. The portions were huge, well worth the price, and just between you and me maybe a few dollars more. The wait staff was very attentive, working in tandem, 1 would order the other would bring out the food for her. They made sure we had everything we needed $7.50 margaritas for the size, well worth it. Sadly we did not have room for desert after the meal so I cannot comment, on the fried ice cream, again one of my fav's. In addition to all this, there was a table with kids near us, and the mood of the atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful. But really I can sum this whole review up to 2 words "Come Here!!!"

Pretty decently authentic Mexican food in a Boston suburb. I'm from Southern California where authentic Mexican is offered on every corner, and Acapulco's is as close to real as I've found so far. The price points are very good, and it's a great family restaurant that you can go to regularly. The carne asada is very flavorful & the shredded beef tacos are delish.

I love Acapulco's. Another reviewer prefers Sierra's, but everytime we go there, the rice is so old and overcooked it resembles bb's, the service is mediocre, and the chips are stale. If you go to Acapulco's, you get greeted warmly, served warm, fresh tortilla chips and homemade salsa, and they have a great selection of different types of Mexican Cuisine. The Pollo Con Crema is excellent, as is the Tacos Al Pastor. They have an extensive list of Mexican Beer (try the Negro Modelo), and a full service bar. I like the fact that the Mexican Food is more like the food I ate in Mexico, and less Americanized. That's of course, if you look beyond the burritos, and standard fare. There's lots of families there; and the ambiance, though not fancy, is warm and friendly. The staff is terrific! You'll get your chips and salsa in a heartbeat, your drinks ordered, and your meal ordered and delivered quickly. The waiters are friendly, attentive, and polite. We always have a good meal, and a great time when we eat there.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
