Solid Diner! Excellent food in terms of both quality and taste. The customer service was superb, the gentleman who served us was extremely friendly and personable. The owner seemed passionate about his own food, which I love to see in a town restaurant. We came here for brunch, and ended up getting too stuffed for lunch! I tried their grilled English muffin, which was amazing. The baked bean and omelette was beyond satisfactory. They also had a historic artifacts on the wall in relation to the Iron Town. That was a nice touch! I will definitely come back here again. It truly is the hidden gem.

This was our first time here and it immediately gets a top spot. This small diner gets packed quickly, but don't turn away if you have to wait for a table. There wasn't anyone in our party of 10 that had any issue with his/her meal. The food is great and the staff is super friendly.

Had breakfast here this morning. It's clean and spacious, good coffee, good food and fabulous service! I had the Berry Stuffed French Toast, which is filled with ricotta. My husband had the Sweet Potato Hash Omelette, and we shared the Nacho Home Fries, which we could not finish. We will be back!

Have eaten here several times now and it has always been excellent. It is really my go to place for breakfast if I am not working and want to go out. This is usually on weekdays, as the line for a table gets crazy pretty fast on a weekend. Anything on the breakfast menu is great. If they have Mac n cheese on the special board, don't miss it.

A friend and I had a terrific breakfast here in Sagus. He had waffles with fresh strawberries, cream and sausages. The ice tea was fresh and not that presweetened stuff. I had the typical 2 eggs over medium with bacon, home fries and light seeded rye toast. The home fries were very good not over cooked. Everything was fresh, prepared just as ordered very good. Service was quick and friendly. The bathroom was clean. It was prime breakfast time the wait was 15 minutes. Well worth the stop. Just a short drive off Route 1.

Wonderful breakfast this morning. Had a party of 10, 7 adults and 3 children. They were able to accommodate our family and were nothing but pleasant. Never got the feeling of being rushed. Our food all came out, at the same time and was great. The host was wonderful and couldn't do enough for us, with a smile on his face, the entire time. Our waitress, Caroline was wonderful, as was all the staff. I can't say enough for how well we were treated. For those complaining about tap water, get a grip and if you're that picky, eat at home. We will definitely be back again!

Great selection. I wish I'd been there earlier in the day to try breakfast. Stopped in with my mother on a Monday afternoon. Loved the specials. She tried the liver and onions and I went with the baked haddock. Really cool decor and nice atmosphere. Food took a bit longer than we anticipated to come out. I think they cook it and don't microwave it so be prepared to wait (which is a good thing but not if you're in a bit of a hurry). My fish wasn't that great. The sides were yummy though. Homemade winter squash and mashed potatoes. The portions are huge. My mom had a lot of her liver left over and took it home. We decided to go crazy and try the chocolate cake for dessert. Decadent. Slow to check out but I think that's because they were closing soon and had a million things to do. Prices were good especially for the amount of food. I imagine they are jam packed at breakfast time. I'd definitely return.

This place is the best place for breakfast all around. Unfortunately that's why I can't give it 5 stars. I've never gone and not had to wait for a table. There's always at least a little wait, sometimes a long one, but it's totally worth it. With hungry kids we can't typically wait but whenever we find ourselves kid free, this is our go to. They have really great stuffed french toast, and they even have some healthier items. I absolutely love it here, I wish we could go more often. I've gone during lunch hours always planning to order lunch but I can't get past how great the breakfast is. Maybe one day when I break the cycle I'll update this and let you know how the other food is. I've seen it delivered to customers eating beside me and it always looks really good.

Bland food and unimpressive all around experience. Scrambled eggs were dried out, coffee was overdone, and even the tap water tasted kinda strange (which sure...maybe you don't have as much control over that but still) Also, I ordered a combo but don't eat meat, most places will substitute something for the meat, some more home fries or some fruit, the waitress said they would not make any substitute. This would make sense if there was another combo option for people who don't eat meat, because I would just order that. So I asked for another English muffin instead of meat and I got charged for it. Ridiculous. The person I was with got the pecan pancakes with raspberry for an additional few dollars. That extra few dollars got 5 small raspberries. What a joke. Will not go back here and would not recommend. Breakfast foods and diner environments are pretty easy to get right, this place managed to get both wrong.

I've had nothing but fantastic breakfasts at Iron Town Diner. They do the basic breakfast up right with all the best breakfast meats. (Srsly though, their breakfast sausage is reedonk.) Great gigantic pancakes with seasonal flair -- I had their pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes a couple months back and they were phenomenal. The best part of Iron Town is the service. Everyone there is super friendly and familiar. They get super packed on the weekends, but the lines move pretty quickly. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes or so. I've got nothing but love for this place!

Really first-rate breakfasts, with fast, friendly and efficient service. Maybe slightly pricey, but that won't stop me from going back. Check out the daily specials - some interesting combinations. The home fries are bigger than I'd usually like, but the edges get done nicely. My girlfriend and I shared two different Benedict varieties and were very happy. The eggs were perfectly poached, the Hollandaise was first-rate, and the other elements were all well-done. Looking forward to return visits.

This is one of my favorite spots. The food is amazing and the staff is always kind and friendly. They have the best breakfast in Saugus. Every dish that comes out of the kitchen looks better than the next. It is a spot I love going to on my mornings off, or for a quick omelette on my lunch break. It is incredibly clean. This restaurant is a true gem!

I would reccomend this place to anyone looking for some great food. I ordered a sushi roll benedict, a nutella banana pancake and a side of sweet potato hash. It was all incredible! The sushi roll benedict incorporated lox, cream cheese, avocado, chopped onions, and a poached egg on a toasted english muffin. The flavors were well paired and the dish really wowed me. The nutella banana pancakes were cooked to perfection and the hash was mouthwateringly good. For more on my visit to the Iron Town Dinner, check out my blog post at youngfoodiesdilemma.word…

Very nice place! The only downside is it's always busy but that's also a very good thing lol they give you great amounts of food. When you say side of bacon, they give you a large side of bacon! Which I love! I hate when other places give you three small pieces. The place is very clean, the staff is great. It was my first time going in and I saw this lady (she must be a regular) that gave a big hug to the host and the waitress. That shows the restaurant takes great care of their customers. I definitely will be back to for breakfast again. Also will go there for either lunch or dinner! Try this place out!

We have eaten at Iron Town many times for breakfast and plan to keep going back. Ever time I've been there I have really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The servers are great too! The food always comes out quickly, we've never had a problem waiting for our meals. They always have fun, creative specials that I usually like to experiment with. The Saugus omelet is always a good choice to fall back on if I don't feel like being adventurous that day. This diner is very nicely decorated, very clean and has become a favorite for my family and many of my friends.

This place is the bomb. My boyfriend and I come here just about every Sunday for breakfast. The service is quick and the waitstaff is so friendly and accommodating. My favorite dish is the corned beef hash eggs Benedict. It is out of this world and I can't try anything else because I like it way too much! This place is always packed but the wait goes by quick. My only minor gripe is that the host (older man and I think is a relative of the owner?) never smiles and is a bit abrasive. As a host of a restaurant it's just a common no brainer to greet your customers with a welcomed smile. Other than that, go you'll love it!

Mmm. I have resisted writing this review for some time because every time I think about brunch, I get insatiably hungry. I am a fan of the Iron Town Diner on facebook, which tempts me on an almost-daily basis with food porn/glamor shots of their specials and standby dishes. I'd experienced the breakfast sandwich (cheesy, in a good way) and blueberry pancakes (one order large enough to feed my family) as takeout at some early morning days at work, and finally made my way out to Saugus a few weeks ago to try the restaurant in the flesh. On one sunny Sunday, I dragged Lauren M on a roadtrip up route 1 just in time to make the brunch hour before the diner closed. Design note: the menus and decor (furniture, placemats, and fixtures) all match. Our waiter was a friendly young man who cheerfully offered us coffee and gave us ample time with the menu--we had to order strategically, of course. I opted for the blacksmith benedict, eggs with bacon and tomato, served with homefries. My dining counterpart ordered the smoked salmon benedict. Of course, an entrée each wouldn't give us enough to go on, so we chose to split a short stack of banana walnut pancakes, too. After spending requisite time taking photos of our dishes for Instagram and Yelp, we commenced the act of eating. The result? Solid breakfast food with the requisite sides and toppings on offer. The food came out within a reasonable timeframe, service was friendly, and the food was tasty. Not sure what else you need from a diner--but their social media presence scores additional points from me, even if it does make me hungry beyond belief. Local business! Breakfast all day (til 3 pm anyway)! Eat there!

I came in yesterday morning with my husband. They were crazy busy! We knew we had to wait few minutes so we obviously didn't mind. We were RUDELY greeted by this old bald man! As far as I'm concerned, the first person that you see at a restaurant (that works there obviously) is the most important. You should greet them with a smile, a "good morning how are you? "And NICELY ask how many. Not HOW MANY?? FEW MINUTES! What?? I'm assuming he's a manager or the owner. Anyway, we sat down, we were greeted so nicely by this waitress. Beautiful smile and she was so kind! (Take notes bald man). The food was AMAZING!!!!!! I got the traditional eggs Benny and my husband got two eggs with cornbeef hash! So so so good!!! We will definitely be back again, we'll probably call and make sure that rude man isn't there. Oh and he was also rude to these two young boys, I'm guessing bus boys? They were working so hard, why are you yelling at them? PS get rid of him.

My family's favorite brunch spot! We've never had anything that was bad from this place. Prices are good for the portions you get. Food is excellent. My personal favorite is the Philly Omelette for breakfast and the Iron Melt Burger for lunch.

Absolutely the worst meal I have ever attempted to eat. I ordered the haddock with string beans and mashed potatoes. The haddock was leftover. It was slimy, VERY smelly, and disgusting to taste. The mashed potatoes had a rancid aftertaste(bad cream?) and the "string" beans were the chopped up variety that you find in a can. To top it off, nothing on my plate was even remotely hot. My daughter ordered the chicken fingers from the kid's menu. This consisted of a plate overflowing with stale, brown french fries and 4 very large, very overdone, very tough, chicken fingers. The meal was large enough for two adults, but my daughter couldn't make it through one chicken finger because they were so overcooked. The bottle of ketchup said "Heinz" but the ketchup that came out of it was definitely not Heinz. It was brown and watery and did not taste at all like any ketchup I would eat. The waitress asked us nervously if everything was OK. I'm assuming she gets a lot of complaints about the lunch menu. I do have friends that swear by their breakfast, and maybe it's OK, but do yourself a favor and NEVER come here for lunch.

Great breakfast place to come any time of the week. I had the Portuguese sweet bread French toast with a. Side of kalabasa. It was absolutely amazing. Best breakfast I have ever had. Not to mention the great atmosphere and servers as well. My boyfriend had a Canadian bacon, egg, cheese, with a side of avocados and home fries. He loved his plate very well sized. This place aimes to please an empty stomach early in the morning!

My fiancé and I were looking for a delicious breakfast place, yelp rated this one high. The wait wasn't too bad 15mins by the time we were seated there was a very long line, literally out the door. Good food large portions great staff. Highly recommended you'd be missing out if you didn't go!!!

I love the food at this restaurant! I've been here a few times for breakfast now and have ordered the Iron Town Combo with the Nutella & Banana pancakes, awesome! The Philly omelet (steak & cheese) is also amaze-balls!! Service has always been outstanding from the servers but I will loudly echo FoodieFan's gripe regarding the grumpy old host who's pretty darn miserable! Didn't like the way he interacted with the young bus boy either. That's my one complaint of this gem. Retire the host!!

WOWZA. We came here when it first opened and were not impressed Kept hearing around town that it was great so I convinced my husband to try it again. We were not disappointed. Then to walk in and find our favorite and excellent waitress Deana from our past. We were thrilled. The food held up to the hype. Great breakfast. Very accommodating to my food allergies. They had great Greek yogurt and fresh fruit My husband loved his blacksmith omelette and. Well done potatoes were perfect. They have Franks Lots of variety. It was relaxing and delicious They take credit cards and great service. I believe we have found our new favorite breakfast spot

My wife and I decided to check the iron Town Diner out this morning, we were pleasantly surprised with the decor considering it is located in a strip mall, the Diner is good sized with ample room at the booths. Having a Food Allergy and seeing they made Homemade Corned Beef Hash I promptly asked the server is the Hash had onions, she said that it didn't after ordering our breakfast she returned to the table after double checking with the cooks and informed me the hash did in fact have onions and she cancelled it from the order which I appreciated. The Food was ok, my wife had over easy eggs which some places just can't seem to get them right, these were perfectly cooked, I got the iron Town Meat Omelette and our daughter go Mickey Mouse Pancakes with M&M's, the only draw back I would say were the Home fries some were cooked perfectly while some were slightly under cooked, they were also very bland, a little salt, pepper or Italian seasoning will go a long way. Our Server was exceptional, the Bus Boys, were right on top of the tables once the customers left, and the cleanliness was above and beyond what I would expect from a busy diner We will definitely be coming back.

Incredible food for a very inexpensive cost! Four of us drove down to Saugus from NH to head to the mall on a humid Saturday morning. Being that we weren't very familiar with the area and I being an avid Yelper, saw the great reviews, we decided to try it out. It's very easy to find for someone who lives out of town because it's located in a front facing plaza. We showed up around 9:45 am, prime time for breakfast, and we were worried that we might be waiting a while, but we were taken in very quickly. Aesthetically, this place is beautiful and super clean. You can tell the owner truly cares about the place. As far as food goes, it's delicious. Everything we ordered was exactly right and even to our strange requests. For four people to eat breakfast, the bill came to $39.72. So inexpensive for a really nice meal! I would absolutely return.

Well worth the wait. One of the few places I will wait to belly-up to the counter and gorge myself. I have not only never had a bad meal, but never had a bad dish. This is one of the most welcoming diners I have ever been to. The care and attention that the entire staff puts into your dining experience is unrivaled for the area. I truly believe that Iron Town Diner will not only thrive, but will become a long lasting establishment in Saugus.

Every experience has been fantastic and delicious! The servers are personable, the menu is amazing, service is quick, and the restaurant is clean. Everything we have tried has been really good but my favorite is the Blacksmith Benedict.

  • Richard C.

I've been coming here since it opened and had to finally write a review. First things first: the place is clean. The hosts and wait staff are constantly, wiping, cleaning, sweeping, and otherwise, making the place look great. The service ranges from outstanding to meh! depending on your server (ask for Deana). The booths are very comfortable, the tables not as good but serviceable. What strikes me most regarding the menu is the variety and options that are available. athe prices are a little higher than some other local spots, but well worth it when you have numerous options for toast, or toppings for waffles or ingredients for an omelet. The food is fresh, tasty and plentiful. Omelets are large and stuffed. Waffles and pancakes can be ordered with numerous toppings and there are several benedicts available. The only real complaint is that its popularity causes serious wait times some weekend mornings. I haven't had any lunch items yet, but if they're anything like their breakfast counterparts, I assume their well-worth the cost. A place that provides a clean environment, cheerful staff and lots of good food is at the top of any list that I make. This is one of them!

  • Joseph P.

I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs for breakfast. The potatoes were very bland , almost as if they were rushed and ran out so were just serving to keep up with crowd. And I love hash but this was not good , like the potatoes no real flavor. Thank God coffee was delicious.

The breakfast is so worth it, not your typical greasy food!! Good stuff, would highly recommend. Excellent banana pancakes!! Deana was our waitress yesterday- she nailed it!! Keep up the good work, worth the 20 min wait!

Went here with a couple friends this past Saturday and I have to say it was the BEST breakfast I have had in a long time, outside of my own home of course... I got the Iron Town Combo with this I got two eggs (over medium) which were cooked to perfection, crispy Bacon, home fries and the French toast. I also got a grilled bagel that was totally unnecessary but it was to die for... I ate every last bite and was full for the rest of the day.. The coffee was good and strong.. The wait was about 15 minutes which went by relatively quickly.. We were served by Jeffrey who was attentive and an absolute doll.. Can wait for my next breakfast adventure...

Had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious breakfast at Iron Town Diner with my family on 8/8/14. I have to say, though they were busy we were seated quickly and our server introduced herself within minutes, I wish I could remember her name as she was very friendly and knew the menu well; to me that's a sure sign of a good server. The atmosphere here is family friendly, the surroundings are clean and comfortable. Their menu offers good breakfast and lunch options, most all under $10.00. The kids had pancakes which were large and fluffy, the adults had various egg and meat combos that were cooked perfectly as requested. Iron Town Diner also makes a delicious homemade corned beef hash, it's all corned beef, not filled with diced potatoes or onions. The home fries are chunkier than I've had at other breakfast places but they were very tasty and cooked well. Our server kept us well-filled with good hot coffee which really hit the spot. We all enjoyed our food and left full and satisfied. This was our first visit to Iron Town Diner and I'm certain it won't be our last. Do yourself a favor and give it a try, you won't be disappointed, it's definitely WAY better than IHoP for sure.

So nice to have a real diner finally open in the area. Food is great and a great place to take kids. The restaurant can be very busy but once you eat there you can understand why. We have also got take out from there several times. I only wish they were open for dinner too.

Best Corned Beef Ruben on the north shore. Great wait staff. Quick service. Clean. Generous portions.

This place was great. We were told to wait 15 minutes but waited no more than two. We had our 9 month old with us and the staff was so friendly with him. Our food came out very quick and the staff couldn't have been nicer. They even told me not to clean the floor when I bent over to pick up the goldfish he stopped. This is our new go to breakfast place for the weekend!

  • Queenie B.

Great place. Lots of delicious choices. I got spinach eggs Benedict & it was excellent. I didn't like the home fries tho, they were just warm pieces of potato. I wish they were more browned & crunchy. It has a nice, warm atmosphere w/excellent staff. I was disappointed to learn they did not have free WiFi. I often travel for work & would really like to have some breakfast & coffee there & use my computer sometimes, but that's not an option.

  • Nancy K.

Waited over 45 mins to be considered to be seated... Several groups that came in after us got tables before us. When asked how much longer, the male host with the bluish green dress shirt told us they crossed our name off the list when we were literally right there and we were listening intently for our name to be called the entire time and we were right next to them on top of that! He did not apologize for the wait or that they crossed off our name. They're not very vocal with calling the next in line and that can and should be improved. Our waitress Donna was absolutely pleasant, probably the only redeeming quality of this place. She was patient courteous and smiled. No one else was even a fraction of that. The dude that brought the food out looked dirty greasy and covered in dandruff... Had no hairnet on either... Gross! there was also a couple of servers that had hair all over not tied up or anything... The food was okay, the home fries were hard (undercooked hard) and semi burnt, my souvlaki was soaked when they brought it out with pickle juice and soggy veggies inside of it my pita was just soaked to no recognition, the corned beef hash was good, coffee was decent, sausages were good! The vegg omelette however had a 90-10 ratio of broccoli stems than florets attached which was disappointing too, for the price, I wouldn't have ever expected a ton of stems. Probably won't be back. I wonder how a surprise health inspection would hold up. When I had my restaurants I made sure everything was clean and friendly, with better communication from the hosts, it's not that hard, just saying.

The wait was a little long but that's always a good sign. Once we were seated the service was amazing and the food was so worth the wait !!!! Christina was our server and I have never met a nicer, more efficient waitress! Their home fries are better than any breakfast spot I've been to, and I'm a very picky eater. So happy we tried this place.....

I am visiting from CA and I can honestly say that this restaurant has the best breakfast I have tasted in the greater Boston area and possibly the country (I am not over exaggerating)! The ice tea is freshly brewed and the service was impeccable. I am a fan! Definitely coming back!!!!

We've had breakfast and lunch there many of times and have never had a bad experience. It's always busy, but totally worth the wait! Love their banana nut pancakes and lunch specials! The best waiter is Jeffrey! He always remembers us and comes to say hello even if we're not at one of his tables.

I had a full breakfast there the other day along with a few other guys I went with and I think everyone was pretty much in agreement that we'd all go back. Great service, good location and great food. Haven't tried lunch there yet but my next door neighbor has been there a few times for lunch and says I need to try it. I would say to the reviewer questioning the negative reviews and pointing to the fact the poster only has 1 review, do you question the good review from the other poster who also has just 1 post so far? Everyone has to post a first review. Filtering because of assumptions is a slippery slope for a review site such as this.

My friend works here and she has been urging me to go.... and I was happy I did. Wait staff was super nice, awesome diner "feel" and the Philly Cheese Steak Omelette I had was quite bomb. From what I could see, the pancakes and waffles looked quite awesome too... now I know what to get next time!

What a great addition to the west side of Saugus dining scene and neighboring Melrose and Wakefield. We are completely enamored with the Iron Town Diner. Great lunch and Breakfast choices at very reasonable prices. This is PRECISELY what this neighborhood has been needing as the crowds on the weekend can attest to. Never a long wait. We have found service to be fast, friendly and efficient on the numerous occasions we have been in. Personal favorites: For Breakfast: You can't go wrong with the Breakfast combo that includes Pancakes, bacon or sausage, potatoes, eggs AND toast! $8! Incredible value. They also make a great corned beef hash and my dining partner in crime, swears by the omelets. For Lunch: they make a great Cheeseburger. The owners clearly care about their customers and consistently go out of the way to recognize us and make sure we are happy with everything. I look forward to the Iron Town Diner becoming a long standing tradition! Lastly, I am somewhat suspect of the two random bad reviews here, especially when one of the reviewers has no Yelp friends, no picture and has only written ONE review. Iron Town should petition to have them removed. If you're going to trash a new spot without giving it or the management a chance to rectify any service situation, then you should at least have the balls to show your face. In my opinion... that's bad form.

Baked oatmeal is amazing, I eat here weekly with my husband and our two young children. The wait can be a bit long but it is worth it! The servers are always so friendly and accommodating of the kids and the food is so delicious. Not a greasy soon, clean healthy breakfast food.

Loved it. Great experience every time. The absolutely amazing service can't be beat. Our server took every second to provide superb attention to detail. He was sure to check in with us from time to time throughout our meal without being bothersome. He was top notch for sure! This is my new regular spot for breakfast & I'm spoiled because they are so close to my house! Not so good for my waistline but phenomenal for my taste buds.

Wish I never wasted my $$. Tried this place with my husband on a weekday morning for brunch. I got their regular eggs Benedict, he got the chicken club. Eggs benne was ok, very standard. I asked for the home fries that came with it crispy/well done...only got 2-3 that were actually crispy, the rest were unseasoned blanched potatoes that were greasy yuck! My husband said the chicken in his club tasted like it was frozen then cooked in the microwave-not good!!! Fries weren't bad, but were obviously frozen from a bag...can't really screw that up. Waitress never refilled my coffee or husbands soda and was way more involved with people she knew at another table. Bill came to almost $30, totally outrageous for the poor service & quality and quantity of food. We will not be coming back. Wish it was better food and more reasonably priced because its closer than our favorite spot. Oh well.

I saw that this restaurant featured by the Phantom Gourmet. I drove an hour to see a historical site nearby and decided to make a stop at the Iron Town Diner. I arrived for lunch with two hungry teenagers who can eat ! We ordered the Monte Cristo, Pastrami Rueben and the burger special. Our service was wonderful as we sat at the counter since all the tables were full. The portions were hefty, the price was fair and we all enjoyed our meal. I hope to be back in the near future.

I'm a breakfast snob due to the fact I was a breakfast cook for a few years. Iron Town has consistently produced quality plates every time I've been. Their home fries are fresh and never overcooked. It's clean and the service is good. Prices are very reasonable. We're close to the Blue Moon Grill in Wakefield and also the North Ave Diner. Iron Town in my opinion rates higher than both of these establishments.

Personally, I thought the hash was great. Definitely order it crispy if that's how you like it. Potatoes were great, crispy but soft. Eggs pretty standard. Coffee was good! How often do you go to a breakfast place that has good coffee? maybe I'm just picky... Would have given five stars if not for service. My server was very very nice, personable, friendly, but appeared overwhelmed. The host/greeter should really wait until the table has been cleaned and reset. I watched this go on a few times where you have people standing in themiddle of the dining room waiting for the table to be wiped, myself included. And then we didn't have any sugar, salt or pepper because it was doubled up on the table to us. But, our server happily brought us more, problem solved. It appears Iron Town Diner is on the right track, they just needmore attention to detail.

I love their lunch here. I've never had their breakfast but my coworkers have and love it. We come at lunch time during the week about every other week. It's very busy which shows how good the food is. My favorite is the potato salad. All their sandwiches have been delicious so far. The salads are huge! We always return!

So excited to have this open down the road from me.. What a great daily option I now have!! Food is fresh, tastes great, and the atmosphere is unlike anything else in the area.. Breakfast is my new favorite meal

Solid 3.5 stars ... Food was good though the broccoli in my omelet was under cooked. Blueberries in the pancake were fresh and bursting with flavor. Scrambled eggs were cooked just right... Moist but not runny. French toast was yummy. Place was rather noisy - granted we were seated by the door so it was crowded and cold when the door opened....but it's a good diner and the service was friendly and prompt-Meg was excellent! Lots of locals ... Can get crowded so come early....

Saw this place featured on Phantom Gourmet and decided to give it a shot for lunch. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't good. We ordered pretty basic meals - a burger and chicken sandwich. Both were pretty bland. Even the fries weren't good. I will say our server (Christin?) was excellent. They are open for breakfast and lunch. Perhaps their breakfast is better? It was pretty crowded, so they must have a decent following, but I wouldn't recommend it and would not return.

Over the last 5 weekends, we have gone here 3 times : ) Iron Town Diner is delicious!! They have the most amazing corned beef hash - so tasty! Their pancakes are also yummy - they will make Mickey Mouse shaped ones for the little ones, I had banana pancakes which were so good. They have tons of staff so they do a good job of turning tables over in a quick timeframe too. We are fans!

I so want to love this place! I was so excited when this opened because it is so close to my house. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I ordered two eggs over medium with hash and wheat toast. The hash was decent, should have been cooked a bit more - simple fix of asking for it crispy. The eggs were good and cooked to my liking. BUT YIKES - why would you serve those potatoes? The home fries were horrible, totally bland and mushy. Do people really like those kind of breakfast potatoes? I don't get it - it is not hard AT ALL to make a good tasty breakfast potato. LASTLY - they didn't refill our coffee and the service was very lacking. The waitress must have told us at least 5 times how busy she was and kept apologizing for wierd stuff - she talked way too much! Stop talking and fill my coffee! I will give it another try in a few months - maybe they will work out some of the kinks. I have family members who have gone for breakfast and lunch and loved it - the verdict is still out for me!

Just had our first breakfast at the Iron Town Diner and it was great! The space is clean, the service is super friendly and the food is delicious. My husband tore into his corned beef hash benedict with a vengeance and declared it to be one of the best he has ever had. He also devoured all of the potatoes that came with it and left the dish nearly spotless. He would definitely order this again but next time might instead order a hot shot omelet - he loves his spicy foods in the morning. I enjoyed my scrambled eggs with eggs and the grilled jumbo english muffin with grape jelly was delicious (I like simple breakfast foods). Dawn is a great server - friendly, attentive, and quick to pour coffee refills. We'll definitely come back to the Iron Town Diner. If you're in the neighborhood, do yourself a favor and check it out!

This is our new favorite local family restaurant. We have been there for both breakfast and lunch, and no one has had anything but excellent food. By far the best dish I've had so far is the prosciutto eggs Benedict. It started out as a special, but it has now made the permanent menu. There is something amazing about the combination of prosciutto, tomato and fresh basil that totally takes eggs Benedict to the next level. I've taken several people there and they all adored that dish. They also do a delicious hot pastrami and Monte Cristo sandwich - my other two standard orders. My kids love their creative pancake flavors. It can be a bit noisy because this place is almost always packed. If you want to get breakfast on the weekend, get there early because it will soon be a 15-20 minute wait! It's totally worth waiting for, though. Because we have young kids, we hardly ever eat at places that require a wait. We make an exception for this diner. The menu is great diner food that often goes to a higher level, it's a nice, family-friendly atmosphere, and the wait staff and owners are friendly, attentive and efficient. If you haven't tried this place, do it!

Nice new addition in town. Food was great....I have been twice now. Once I had the sausage eggs benedict and it was so good. Next time I had the meatlovers omelette. Also good (although the eggs benedict was better!) Servers/hostess seem a bit disorganized at times - we were seated without menus and had to ask. And the waitress had a lot of tables - so had to ask for seconds in coffee.

Went for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had scrambled eggs with cheese that were as perfectly cooked as any I've ever had (or made!). Everything was tasty, served quickly and the portion sizes were generous. I thought it was reasonably priced. Would definitely go again and would highly recommend. Waitress was really helpful too.

This place is perfect. The food is very good. The menu is totally interesting and still has all the staples. The service couldn't be more friendly. We sat at the bar and felt like we were part of the family. Don't skip the smoothies! They are a house specialty.

A friend of mine and I visited the Iron Town Diner this past weekend and WOW I was glad we did. Friendly and attentive staff that kept our coffees and water refilled made a great impression. It was tough to choose between breakfast or lunch but we opted for the breakfast after seeing all these delicious plates come out to all the hungry patrons. Our server was friendly and attentive and kept the coffees refilled. After sipping down a great Banana Mango Smoothie I had the Breakfast COMBO. eggs, potatoes, sausage and pancakes. The sausage and potatoes were not greasy (the typical Diner stuff) and my eggs were cooked just right. The food is priced more than fair. I will definitely go back, maybe next time I will try the lunch menu.

The place has a great atmosphere, service, awesome food at very reasonable prices. For breakfast lovers, they serve it all day.Their turkey club sandwich feeds 2 people. The salad is fresh like it came straight from the garden. The rice pudding is the real thing, the best I have had anywhere. The portions are more than you can handle. The breakfast there is unbelievable, especially the blueberry pancakes.I highly recommend the Iron Town Diner as the place to go for your next meal, whether breakfast or lunch. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful inside. And the rest of the story is lacking. If you dont have a finalized menu dont open. 8 pages of office pages stapled together. This aint cheesecake factory. $3 for a cup of chocolate milk fine... if I got a refill. It sat at the edge of the table ignored the whole meal.

Just love coming to the Iron Town Diner, this place had everything a Diner should. My sister and I had went one day, found this place by accident, and I have to say she has been raving about it since. I had breakfast, she had lunch, the breakfast combo was great had a bit of everything that I liked in it, and she had the corn beef Ruben, the corn beef melted in your moth she said, the waitress was very knowledgeable, nice, and very pleasant even helped with our order and made suggestions that we might like, she was wonderful, our experience was great definitely looking forward to coming back. I definitely highly recommend this place, Thank you again Iron Town see you soon.

So I would consider myself a "regular" customer at the Iron Town Diner. I've eaten Saturday breakfast here several times with my Mom and sister. All of us have rave reviews for this place! Mom loves the lox especially, it's so fresh and the portion is large enough for her to take 1/2 of it home to enjoy later. The nutella and banana French toast and waffles are tasty. The staff is so friendly and attentive without being pushy. I couldn't wait to go for lunch and did today for hubby's birthday. We both had the chicken orzo soup and lamb souvlaki sandwich. The lamb was tender and cooked perfectly, the soup was flavorful. Our only disappointment was the Greek lemon chicken soup wasn't one of the specials. So looks like we'll be going back if only for that! I definitely recommend going here, but be forewarned, there could be a wait, but it's a quick enough turnover.

We've been there twice now and absolutely love it! Only complaint is how busy it is, but that can't fairly be a complaint, right? I also wish they were open later and that we could get pickup or delivery for dinner! The French toast is great, the omlettes are made with fresh ingredients and were fantastic. And don't even think this is a make up review or that I know anyone....just been waiting a long time for a diner that actually has good food! You wouldn't think that would be so rare, but it is. Have driven by this place a lot over the past few months and wondered when it would open. Finally got a chance to try it for breakfast this week. It was pretty busy for a Friday morning but we got a table right away. Our server was attentive and friendly. We tried a make your own omelette(spinach, cheese and tomato), French toast and the Saugus omelette. Everything was great. Fresh, hot, tasty and not greasy. Portions were also good. The coffee was also great and our server stayed on top of the refills. The lunch menu looked intriguing and I am sure I will be back to try that sometime soon but for now, it is great to have another yummy breakfast location nearby!

This is my new favorite breakfast place! The philly cheese steak omelette is amazing! I have never been disappointed with any of the food. The host and hostess are always smiling. There is always a wait on the weekends. But you can't blame the restaurant for being busy! The prices are fair, service is hit or miss. I have had great service and not so great (like any other place). Only thing I'd like to see improved is there fresh brewed iced tea! Other than that I love it here!

I had the eggs and cornbeef hash which were very tasty. My fiancé had French toast which she was pleased with and my daughter got a big pancake shaped like a Mickey Mouse head.

I've been to Iron Town three times because I keep wanting to like it. The first two times were on weekends and they were packed, so I figured that was most of the problem. So we tried again on a weekday morning, and had the worst experience yet. They had two waitresses covering the entire restaurant. It took twenty minutes to get a cup of coffee. The eggs were undercooked and runny. We ordered a side of ham that never came. It ended up taking an hour to get a scrambled egg, and we ended up asking for the bill when the food came. I think we would still be there if we had needed change.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and iron town does it well. The food was excellent and their menu was full of unique choices. Oreo and m&m pancakes? Why not! The service was good and I would definitely recommend it for breakfast, but I have yet to try the lunch. I have heard all positive feedback though, and I can't wait to go back.

Very expensive for average or below average food. My family and I have been venturing out to different diners for breakfast on the weekends and came across this new one in a small Saugus strip mall. It was busy and nicely decorated. Service, not great. No one refreshing your cup of coffee. No syrup on the tables. They ration things on the scarce side, so you have to ask for more yourself. Done for the diner to save money, but not convenient for the patrons. My daughter ordered a Belgium waffle with strawberries on top. Waffle looked good, did not try it. Strawberries were not fresh, but a compote served in a one-inch by one-inch round butter holder. My Texas French toast was tasteless. Husband said his omelette was just ok. $50 for the 3 of us!.. and did not get too much.....could have had dinner somewhere for the price! Won't be back.

It was one of the worst restaurant's I've been to. The wifi didn't work at all. The food is way over priced (5.99 for some yogurt). The pancakes I got tasted like flour. I was with my grandma and she got waffles. She said they were real chewy. I barely got any butter for my pancakes. The milk I got came in a skinny glass. I don't even think there was a pint in it. Over all, don't go there

I love the Iron Town Diner. Yep, I do. I've been there several times with both the hubby and with friends and every single thing that I've gotten so far has been delicious and well prepared. I'm a sucker for a turkey club and I LOVE their turkey club sandwich. Yes, folks. They serve real turkey that (if I am to believe what I am told) is cooked overnight at very low temperatures for several hours until the turkey is deliciously tender and ready to be devoured by any good turkey loving carnivore. Iron Town's breakfast also rocks; their breakfast sandwiches are huge and quite honestly, it's probably not all that healthy to try to stuff one down. If you can, then go for it! If you cannot, do not feel ashamed. ITD will graciously package up that sucker of a sandwich for you to enjoy later. Go for their coffee, their service, their breakfast sandwiches or for a honking good lunch. I guarantee that it's hard to be disappointed in anything that Iron Town serves.

Absolutely love this place for breakfast. Crispy home fries, huge portions and when was the last time you had your breakfast garnished? I order my eggs over medium and they are perfect every time! The service is prompt and attentive. Not the usual greasy diner. Decor is spotless, modern and new. They definitely raise the bar for breakfast.

I've been to Iron Town twice, once for lunch and the other for breakfast. The first time was for lunch. My bf ordered the turkey "dinner"? and I got the vegetable lasagna. His turkey was nothing special. Looked like a couple of thick slices of turkey you'd get at a deli, potatoes were ok. It was so unmemorable, I actually forget what else he got with it. He was soo not impressed. The vegetable lasagna was soaked in some kind of creamy sauce. Vegetables looked from can and not much flavor. Service was ok, prices so so for the "quality" of food we were served. The 2nd time I went , was with a gf and I got French toast, nothing special. It's been about 2 months since we went, and all I remember was that my friend got a side of home fries and I tried a little bit and they were just ok. I am very disappointed in this place. Was looking forward to a new place to go to that's right near my house. The quality of food both times was just ehh, but to go w/what they charge you was just a little too much $. I don't think i'll be going back any time soon.
