I always delight in seeing a local restaurant open up in my little neck of the woods, especially when it's under ownership by a fellow citizen of our sleepy little town. Dan took this place over a few weeks ago and seems to have a good handle on what he is doing. The menu is small and simple - breakfast and lunch. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and quickly made our choices from the dozen or so sandwiches he has available. I choose the beef dip and it had a generous portion of roast beef served on a nice bun. It came with choice of chips or slaw and pickle. I choose the slaw and pickle which was good. My son had a BLT which was a good size served up on hearty white bread. My wife choose the greek salad which was a big portion and she loved the dressing. It's small and simple but Dan puts a lot of care into what he is doing. The value is good, the taste is good and the location is right in Plympton center (blink and you may miss it). Yelpers if you find yourself in the tiny town of Plympton, please stop in and support these people!

What a disappointment. Used to get the the Rueben here and it was SO good. Now they are owned by different people and my sandwich was terrible. The meat was tough and stringy and they did not put on the thousand island dressing. So sad.

Fantastic! I had the chicken salad on marbled rye...soooo good. You get a small pasta and pickle too! It is a small place but very homey and charming inside. You order and pay at the counter and can either take out or have it at one of their little bistro style tables. My husband was always raving about their sandwiches so I wanted to try it. Definitely a keeper!!!

Get out. No seriously. Get out. The sandwiches here are so good. Like sell my mother to the gypsies good. In order of most delicious to slightly less but still awesome: The bird and pig. The roast beef Reuben. The french dip. The macaroni salad was a little blah tho. The gals who work are sweethearts. Good job village cafe.

I drove by this place for several weeks and finally decided to stop for breakfast last week. Quaint place with only a few tables. Basically self-serve as you go up to the counter to place your order and then they deliver to table. Coffee is at the ready - it was fresh and hot. I do not believe they have free refills. Food is made to order and good. My dad had two eggs with linguica and toast. Everything was cooked exactly as he wanted. I had one egg and grilled english. The sandwich menu looks extensive and sounds good - I need to go back to try a few items after the write ups I have been reading here. Another local place that I will continue to enjoy supporting.

First time going here but I know it won't be the last time. Wife suggested we stop here and glad she did. Very nice establishment. Very friendly atmosphere. My wife got the French Toast & Bagels. I got the 2 egg, bacon, pancake & toast. Portion size is a little bigger than most places and the prices are good. They serve Breakfast and Lunch and will have to come back to try their lunch choices. Definitely worth a return. If you're in the area try it out, it's worth the trip!

Go for breakfast. Go to the dump. Come back for lunch. This place is great. Foods good price is great. If your working in the area call and pick up lunch. The cowl slaw and pasta salad you get is great. And who doesn't want a pickle!

Great place for lunch, I had a tuna melt. The sandwich was so big I could only eat 1/2 of it. Tasted great. What really impressed me was the service and how clean the place was. I wished I lived closer I go there all the time if I did.

They offer great food and service. This is a very small Plympton style restaurant where everyone knows your name.
