Cute spot, ice cream was good, but not so amazing that I MUST have it again. Service was nice, but disorganized. A cone was given to our 7 year old (who obviously started eating it) while a frappe was made for my husband and I had my cup of ice cream scooped. I had to walk to the toppings bar for jimmies (actually my husband did) then he had to come back to the front of the line with the ice cream to pay. When asked about anything else, I said my son's cone - the girl said it had to be weighed. Okay, I guess you'll put your thumb on the scale for the eaten part? I felt badly about "cheating," but wish they gave us better direction. Worth a stop for sure...

The ice cream is homemade and amazing! (The hard ice cream that is). 3 kinds of whipped cream. Nutella whipped cream.... Who would have thunk it? Great place and nice staff ! Great local products sold there as well. The toppings of sweets candies fresh fruits and fruit sauces were plentiful!

Great ice-cream selection! Reasonably priced and very chill place to hang out. Other than ice cream there is various other goodies which i did not try, but certainly looked delicious.

Fun atmosphere, lots of healthy options, and it's way cheaper than your typical Yorgurtland or Ben and Jerry's.

I purchased an ice cream cake the other night to serve at a family dinner. It was devoured! The ice cream (I think... may have been yogurt but in any case it was delicious) was yummy and the brownie crumbles in the middle melted in your mouth. Usually the cookie crumbles inside an ice cream cake are so-so and somewhat -, but the brownie crumbles almost stole the show. Good stuff, and we will have to go again another time to try some of the yogurt.

Great local place. Hard ice cream and soft serve mostly homemade. Great staff and very friendly.

We thought "hand scooped" ice cream from the name... Not a scoop in sight. Self serve, soft serve by the ounce is the concept. Employees chatting with each other, none even said hello or thank you. Poor lay out with customers getting in each others way. Then sticker shock at the register. 8 oz ( 1 cup) is $3.50...their "small" cup holds about 16 ounces. Warning, do not let kids make their own!!! One kid had a $12 bowl!!!! Empty topping bins at 8:30pm...prime ice cream time on the Cape. Never again...never.

Love this place. Great location, great flavors, awesome topping bar with SO many yummy things to choose from- basically anything you could ever dream of putting on a sundae is here. The best part for my family is that my husband loves ice cream but we can never go bc he's lactose intolerant , this place always has solid non-dairy choices, also gfree too- healthy vegan choices too. Highly recommend. The girls that work there were super friendly and helpful also.

This place is wonderful for ice cream, away from the overly crowded tourist traps like other places. As written in the name, this is the "local scoop." The concept is difficult to find on the Cape, utilizing froyo and ice cream at the same time. They have a full frozen yogurt bar with about 10 flavors, ranging from strawberry to cotton candy. They have a huge toppings bar, with fruit, little candy, chocolate, sprinkles, etc. Prices are quite reasonable, but ice cream is the better bargain. Make sure to try their chocolate coffee ice cream and their lemongrass ginger ice cream as well.

This was a cool little local shop with the same "build-your-own" concept as orange leaf... Nice place, pretty busy, especially for a Sunday afternoon. Good selection of toppings and yogurt/ice cream. All the yogurt was organic. I noticed the strawberries we're pretty beat up and rotten and they changed them within seconds with no hesitation (I was pretty impressed about that). Clean place, clean restrooms as well. Welcoming and helpful staff as well. Will visit again!

hooray for local scoop...from this local! orleans is proud to welcome yet another fresh, innovative business that stands out from the rest. my husband and i popped in the other evening after dinner and were blown away by how fun and adorable the decor is...they really put an effort into the design and the outdoor seating area with natural wood stumps has a modern, organic feel that you'd find in boston, portland or san francisco. the crowd was also a nice diversion from most cape spots...younger, hipper folks that are seeking something special. the frozen yogurt and toppings are a real treat and the self-serve aspect makes for a culinary adventure! i stand by my usual chocolate with oreo cookie crumbles but i'm sure that, with each visit, i will brach out... to the previous reviewer...if this classifies as health food, then i'm in heaven! this is a frozen yogurt shop with crepes and other creative delights. perhaps, next time you should stick with ben & jerry's ;)

Go with the homemade ice cream. Delish. I usually get sick immediately from Richardsons ice cream. But I feel great two hours later from this mint chip. ! Update: Still no stomach ache!!!! Please Local Scoop tell me your secret! I have gone ten years without getting sick after ice cream, but your mint chip is heavenly and I feel fine. I promise to not sell your trade secrets ... My hubby is an IP Attorney. I know better.

Two words: TOPPING BAR! This place is the epitome of every child's dream ice cream shop with a sophisticated side that grownups can enjoy! Essentially it's a salad bar except with ICE CREAM and frozen yogurt. The topping choices are anything but typical. I love the cereal dispensers!!! Fruity Pebbles? Froot Loops? Cinnamon Toast Crunch?! Holy God it's my childhood come to life! As far as that sophisticated side... Amazing froyo flavors with exquisite fruit topping choices as well as chai, crepes, and a coffee/ice cream combo. The price for this glorious feast isn't terrible. It's based on the weight of your final dessert. We had three in our party who FILLED our cups with wild abandon and the total came to $21. So so so worth it. Bottom line: don't miss this place!!!

A friendly place with a different take on frozen desserts. Lots of self serve frozen with a self serve toppings bar that has lots if choices.

I'd been eating far too much ice cream on vacation and decided to switch it up a bit and try out some frozen yogurt. This was a great decision as I really enjoyed what I got here. There were so many delicious sounding flavors and toppings that I had trouble choosing. I ended up getting vanilla frozen yogurt with maraschino cherries, hot fudge, whipped Nutella, cinnamon whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. It was delicious, and at only 49 cents an ounce, pretty inexpensive. Another member in my party ordered a crepe, which she thought was very good, but making it took a while. There was only one girl working up front and the line ended up backing up while she was making it. There was someone in the back who she asked for help, but by the time she came out, the crepe was done. I think they need more people working out front to prevent this from happening again.

Wonderful setting with free mini golf green. They brought me either insipid ice cream or it was vanilla instead of ginger lemongrass.

We stopped into this new ice cream shop while on vacation this week. My grandmother who we were staying with had been the week prior. The shop is cute and a great concept, but would use some tweaking to get me to come back again and again. I understand they are trying to be healthy but they were missing a few key topping i think of when i think ice cream sundae. Maybe they could have a little less cheapo cereal and weird fruit gel balls and worm like looking things and add some m&ms. My son was very disappointed he didn't get him m&ms. I tried to sub the candy coated sunflower seeds, but he was not pleased. I also understand that the concept is soft serve, but i would LOVE to see 2 or 3 basic hard ice creams added. I am not a huge soft serve person.

Loved it. Yogurt was delicious and I'm looking forward to going back. Go local businesses! Have to say that I was shocked at such a harsh review for hours being wrong. I always call first just in case.

One of a kind self-serve frozen yogurt and soft ice cream store at this part of Cape Cod. Delicious flavors (birthday cake, cookies & Cream along with vanilla, choclate and many others!), friendly staff, plenty of parking make this a place I will return to over and over again!

I made it back & could not have been happier- actually ended up going in twice in one week! The topping selection is HUGE and I highly suggest the cinnamon whipped cream, along with the caramel pretzel frozen yogurt. Lots of healthy toppings, but not so healthy that it was a turn off when wanting a sweet dessert. Lots of fruits, granola, and cereal, but other things too. Patio area was adorable although it was too cold to sit out there, but the inside was nice too. Along with the froyo & toppings they also sold some other things- crepes I believe, cakes, and a retail section with granola, local honey & a few other things. Prices were VERY reasonable- I loaded up a cup w/ yogurt and toppings and even though it was sold by weight it came out to about $6. I will definitely be returning, especially since the owner contacted me and apologized about the confusion about the hours and did make changes online so it wouldn't happen again. Too often business owners don't care about things like this, but a message addressing an issue goes a long way with me. Can't suggest these guys enough.

so you are like "oh a make your own ice cream shop.... how original... i havent see this before.. like ever". well no you haven't. the places in boston are so cookie cutter that they lack character with both their name, and their ambiance. so what does this place have? what makes it different? huge selection of mostly home made choices. there is a piano there that patrons can use while they wait for their children to struggle in making a decision (or a thirty yr old like myself). its wicked cheap.... weighed by the pound, so if you are tricky you get the lighter toppings. the people working there are informative, nice, caring.... etc everything is fresh and well stocked. they also have yogurts that are sugar free but dont taste like it... seriously, try this place. so here is the thing about complainers. they have myriad of toppings, and the whole idea is to be creative and whacky..... chocolate covered chocolate with an M on it is so typical and boringgggg. as far as the fact they have soft serve ice cream.. A i cant think of a way this would be self serve ice cream if it was not soft. If they provided ice cream w/ a lid it would quickly be contaminated. B: ALL stores like this, that are self serve only offer soft ice cream. and the price? well duh its buy weight... the more you put on it the more it costs. THIS is well noted when you walk in. its well noted by the scales at the register..... observation skills people... observation skills.
