Having been to Woodstar half a dozen times, I'm not sure why it is so popular. To be fair, I'd give it a 2.5 star rating, but alas... no half stars allowed. The pastries at Woodstar are fine, but not great (especially the "alternative" kinds like the vegan cupcakes: dry!). The sandwiches are also fine, but not great, and could benefit greatly from a handful of chips. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I hear they make good coffee. Also, the place is perpetually busy (not sure why), and there's rarely any seating. The busy line leads to impatient servers and long waits for food and drinks. AND, the servers are really bad about announcing things, so sometimes your food sits there and you're not sure its yours, while other times, it just never materializes (or perhaps gets eaten by someone else). Not my favorite spot in Northampton!

I just wanted to say that I have been working for the owners on the small fame they keep, so I can assure you first-hand of the freshness of their ingredients. Woodstar has the best pastries- especially their key-lime pie!

I like to go to Woodstar, pick up their pain au chocolat, and then go to Sip for coffee. While their pastries are some of the best in town (really, the ONLY good croissants in Northampton), I find the atmosphere too noisy and busy and the coffee nearly undrinkable. Plus, having known some employees, I am less likely to buy there because they don't treat their workers very well.

Yes, I love Woodstar despite how often their internet fails and how crowded it can get. I love the way the sunlight streams through the huge windows and the pretty blue tables. I love the changing artwork that adorns the walls and their delicious cookies. No, they don't have nearly enough plugs but the most fascinating conversations happen here. The sandwiches are alright but their bagel sandwiches with lox and cream cheese are better. Peanut butter chocolate chip cookie? YES. Way better than any other cafe in the area. Awesome atmosphere. Woodstar can't be beat.

I visit Woodstar about once a week. Although it is almost always crowded, and parking can be difficult, they have some of the richest, most chocolate-y mochas I've ever had. One might call them liquid gold. The sandwiches are made to order with incredibly fresh veggies, meats, pesto and bread. I also love the adorable bird design on their to-go cups. I would buy a mug with that on it in a heartbeat.

A favorite when I lived in the pioneer valley. This place has the best coffee around. Love the Café Vanillas and blueberry muffins.

It's a good idea to avoid this place on the weekends. It's overcrowded, noisy and uncomfortable. The customers waiting on a table are like vultures circling over a dead carcass and will swoop in the moment they even think you might be ready to leave. Parking can sometimes be a headache, but if you are willing to be patient you will eventually get a parking space in the lot just up the street. If you're exceptionally lucky there might even be a space on the street available. The food here is pretty good. Sandwiches are great, but sometimes the bread is a little tough. The coffees, hot chocolate and teas are what makes it worth coming in here for along with their rosemary apricot bar. They do have free WiFi, but really don't want you staying too long, which is made quite clear by only having 2 accessible outlets to charge your mobile devices. The tables only seat 2 but can be pulled together to accommodate a group of friends wanting to have lunch together, but you have to be lucky or on a day that's not too busy to make this happen. There are very large windows, but the only view is mostly of the wall across the street. The inside is beautiful and the staff are incredibly friendly. The best times to come here if you don't like a lot of noise and feeling cramped would be weekdays and when students are on break.

Second favorite cafe in Noho. First being Sip. An upside to Woodstar is that it has more eating inside, and, in warmer weather, it feels great to sit outside. The drinks I would get there: their vanilla latte and teas. It sucks that they close so early, but I loved studying there during the weekends with a pen/highlighter in one hand, and sippin' some tea in another. Only in noho can you find a cafe where they'll serve you your tea in a teapot and tea kettle. Also, they're not getting a five because one time I got a vanilla frosted chocolate cake from them, and it tasted stale. It seemed like it had been sitting there for a week--looking delicious but really being a waste of money.

I've been here a lot. Always excellent. Wonderful baked items such as muffins, croissants and even pecan rolls--which are worth the splurge! Cakes and tortes are amazing. Sandwiches are very good. I could go on and on about their coffee which is top-notch. Forget about Starbucks around the corner, they cannot hold a candle to this place. Very popular and it can be crowded at times. A family owned place and the staff seems to stay forever which speaks well of them as employers.

Parking can be difficult and the line can be long, but it is oh-so-worth-it. The croissants are buttery to-die-for. The death by chocolate cookies are to die for, a GF experience that doesn't make you weep for the loss of wheat...The square bon-bon things (sorry, I cannot remember the proper name) are perfect if you are wanting a decadent hit of chocolate but want to limit your portion size. Did I mention the eclairs? Pastry filled with vanilla bean flecked cream. Yummmmmmm

Having lived in NoHo for nearly four years (three guesses where I went to college), I cannot believe it's taken me over two years after moving away to write a review for Woodstar. As any sleep-deprived college student, I came here for the coffee originally (ok, also it just looks like an adorable place, which it is) and then discovered that it was so much more than a coffee shop. First of all, the "for here" coffee cups HUGE (literally, they are the most humongous cups I've ever drank out of. I'm fairly certain I could just put my face in them, but that would be thoroughly uncomfortable and ruin my coffee, aka life's blood). Now for the real superstar: MUFFINS. Holy, dear, sweet baby lord, Woodstar muffins are unmatched in my book. For me, personally, muffins that taste like unfrosted cupcakes are supremely awful. If you like that sort of thing, I'm sorry, but you should just eat the frackin' cupcake in the morning. You're not fooling anybody. Woodstar, however, makes these wholesome muffins that are just slightly sweet and actually make me feel like I'm putting some valuable nutrients into my body - in the most delicious way possible of course. They're also so awesome that they have a healthy supply of gluten-free and vegan baked goods, so there is something for everybody! My go-tos on the muffin front are the vegan carrot , the mixed berry, and the bran . That bran muffin may sound/appear boring, but they add just a hint of orange oil to it and I swear it is the most delicious bran muffin your mouth will ever meet. If it's not, you're wrong. End of. I don't live in the area anymore, but every time I visit NoHo, I make it a point to stop here and get my fix. It's also a great place to start your day if you're just dropping by NoHo for a few hours. Going in the afternoon is alright as well, but a lot of their baked goods have sold out by then, so getting here earlier is generally a better choice.

Best vanilla latte I have ever had - hands down. What makes it so good? The milk is very fresh tasting, the vanilla doesn't taste processed at all and it comes with just the right amount of ice. This place also never ceases to surprise me with the amount of allergen awareness that they have. They have a color coded system for their "to die for" pastries featuring vegan, gluten free as well as gluten free AND vegan. I only have one complaint: sometimes the service people forget who their regulars area and don't treat them as if they're regulars. This place is often so busy that it's not uncommon to be treated a little badly.

High quality, fresh and food prepared with good intentions. A most excellent place to pick up something to eat or dine in this charming and healthy cafe.

Wood Star is a great place to get a drink and a snack any time of day. I love their carrot smoothie--it tastes like liquefied carrot cake! Their chocolate cupcake with raspberry frosting is delicious, too, and vegan. They have a great selection of drinks and a decent selection of snack items, but I would not go here for a full meal. I have a very serious dairy allergy, and so far, ordering with caution and explaining the seriousness to the barista, I have not had a problem with the vegan (naturally dairy-free!) food/drinks here.

This past week 3 friends & I decided to go to the top pastry shops in Northampton, to root out a potential haunt and we stumbeled upon this cafe! We each ordered something, split it 4 ways then compared notes. Our opinions were somewhat unanimous, but since we are friends maybe our "tastes" are alike, that's a for a sociology major! Admittedly, we went at 4 pm in the afternoon, perhaps this changes things in the world of pastries/breads. I still think things should hold-up though so I didn't look the other way on the timing and I didn't have to at Woodstar Cafe. We ordered 2 of the chocolate bon-bon squares, an éclair and a pecan bar. Four cvcery simple things that honestly I had little expectation of. First, a "rant". I hate it when things are not priced in a pastry shop. I can afford it, that's not the issue. I'd like to know if that slice of cake is $9 or $4.50 mainly because I was treating my friends for the entire day, but seriously everything should be priced. The Bon-Bon Cake Squares my friends choose looked "sad" to me. Wrong (!!), they were fantastic, melt in your mouth and an excellent quality chocolate was used inside and out! The éclair was one of the best I've had outside New York City. The pate choix (the type of pasrty shell) was a perfect consistency and the custard inside was perfect ... really perfect! One of the first times a pastry chef has not used too much thickener in the custard .... A rare treat and Wonderful! The Pecan bar looked like a hunk of walnuts and not appealing to me at all but I tried it just to appease my friends. It was delicious I wanted another bite. This Cafe had my least expectations and yet for us it held it's own and then some against bakeries/pastry shops. Can't wait to re-visit Woodstar-Café, think éclair and the sandwiches looked great too. We were on a bakery/pastry mission though so we didn't try them.

Best gluten-free bread ever, hands down! And I've eaten a lot of GF breads. They make it fresh in their bakery. Highly recommend this place!

Woodstar Cafe is our favorite in town. The windows and outside seating are beautiful. The coffee and food is spectacular. We totally recommend their chai lattes (my favorite), cappuccinos, AMAZING mochas (more like a delectable espressoed hot chocolate), their pastries, and most of all the Nantucket sandwich. Their bread is to die for. Also there are (limited) outlets and free wifi if you want to take work. Great for a date, study breaks, research papers, readings for class, and free afternoons.

This was a good find! Thank you again, Yelp! We were looking for a place to get sandwich on a Saturday afternoon. We ended up at this place. It had a great atmosphere and a display of the number of tasty looking treats. We went with a turkey sandwich that was delicious. We got their hot cocoa and it was fantastic! We would definitely get both again. And we will definitely hit this place for lunch again in Northampton.

I live within sight of the Woodstar Cafe. I find it to be a really enjoyable little cafe. I used to walk there in the summer and sit outside all the time. There is a group of very bold little sparrows that would sit at my table and watch to see if I would give them food. Their products are very good- all the pasteries are quite tasty. The chocolate croissants are so delicious. The carrot smoothie is my ultimate favorite... sweet and delicious- worth a try. I had a sandwich once that was good- well constructed and with fresh ingredients. They have a catering menu for cakes that sound out-of-this- world. I've always wanted excuse to order one. Inside there is not a ton of seating but it is adequate. There is outdoor seating as well but in the summer it is usually pretty crowded. I've never had an issue with the service or quality of food. The one thing that's annoying is the $10 limit on credit cards- but as stated that's more annoying than anything else. The ATM there is ancient and will charge you a fortune to use so no thanks. Overall: A good cafe for some basic food, drinks, and great desserts. Worth a stop-in!

Great sandwiches, coffee, bread, and baked goods. Woodstar has friendly staff and manages not to feel frantic despite how busy it often is.

Best hot chocolate and gluten free bread for sandwiches. There were so many options that I could eat and the service was great. The staff knows what they are doing which makes it all the better. I love this place!

Love this place! Best lattes I have ever had - great smooth foamy coffee, fast wait staff, amazing bagels made on premises. Good ambience.

Among the best bakery cafes I've yet ventured into. The sweets - vegan, vegetarian, or otherwise - are outstanding. The sandwiches are diverse, generous, and very inexpensive. The ingredients are all quite fresh; Some of the best pesto I've ever had between two slices of bread as well as a memorable smoked tofu grace this bakery's menu. I must suggest the Berkshire Sandwich and the vegan Chocolate cupcake topped with raspberry buttercream. Moreover, to wash down your plentiful meal, a steaming cup of coffee or tea, of which there are many and some of rarity, won't set you back. I may have found my new favorite sandwich shop. For as busy as the shop was on a rainy Saturday afternoon right at the lunch-rush service was attentive and fairly quick.

Enthusiastic and helpful staff. Crusty breads. Tasty, wholesome sandwiches and soups. And delicious, meticulously prepared coffees. Unfortunately it can be difficult to find a seat during the busier times, although a little patients usually pays off.

It's hard to get a table, and it can get loud, but it's BY FAR the prettiest coffee shop in the area, and the best people in Noho come here. Great conversations are just part of what happens here. Beautiful spot to sit for hours and hours (if they'll let you), and some of my favorite drinks (unbelievable iced vanilla latte!) in the whole area. Wifi is great when it works, but it hasn't been working for me recently. Also, their sandwiches are fantastic, and everything is very, very high-quality. Won't take credit cards (or maybe there's a high minimum?) but there is an ATM in the store. All the employees who where there are very nice, though the owner is apparently a bit grouchy-- I've not met her, but I've heard this from many others. Still, it's a great place by any conceivable metric. There's really nowhere like Woodstar. Check it out!

This is a biased review, since I'm a die-hard Woodstar fan. I go there nearly everyday for an excellent chai or a chocolate chip cookie (how are the chips still melty?). This is a good place to grab a quick bite, but beware- tables are hard to come by.

This place was pretty fantastic. Depsite a steady crowd, the line moved very quickly. The coffee was fresh and delicious, and the bagel with lox was phenomenal. Also: Super friendly staff, great atmosphere, and great menu selections.

I love Woodstar's coffee and breakfast treats, but today my review is about how they helped to save the day! Yesterday, October 31, 2011, two dear friends of mine were supposed to get married but due to an unforeseen October Winter Storm and power outages they thought that they would need to cancel. Their original plan was to get married at the top of a mountain. When power was restored to Northampton they knew the mountain was out of the question and there original venue and caterer were not an option, but they were determined to make this day the day they were so looking forward to. So they rallied the troops and I was on dessert (specifically cupcake duty). I called a number of places and though everyone was particularly nice about it (except a newer coffee shop that rhymes with boost) there was little anyone could do on such short notice with power only being restored a few hours earlier. And then I called Woodstar, my favorite coffee shop remembering they also had some of my favorite cupcakes and they without a doubt came through. I called in a panic shared my story and was told to give them a couple of hours and they could make us 80 assorted cupcakes. They did and they were delicious!!! Anyone complaining about their service, here is what I have to say the coffee is delicious, the breakfast and dessert treats are top notch. And the service I received on this day and every other day I choose woodstar has been stellar. Now maybe the baristas grumble a little but who really cares they are making a great cup of coffee and not the person who was hired to provide customer service. Thank you woodstar for saving the day and helping create memories for my good friends that will last a life time!!

Yay for French pressed coffee! Though, it's a better investment for your home, so I guess this is a good deal if you're away from home and crave rich, oily, full-flavored coffee. Their baked goods are fresh and healthful. I was really troubled by how shoulder to shoulder one can be in this place. There is even a sign that says you should leave when you're done eating so they can get other people in. This is yuppie central; trying-to-still-be-hip parents toting free spirited children around trying to get their not-so-cheap fix of caffeine. I just find it frustrating to be in here because a coffee shop should be laid back. I don't mean laid back to the point where one should be obligatory to spend 5 hours at a table on a lap top, but not passive aggressive about overall business and status. Sometimes you just want a coffee and a bagel without all the pretentiousness, but hey it's noho.

Delicious Jasmine Pearl tea. Want more... The desserts look amazing too! When I return to Northampton I plan to have some too. This place gets crowded so make sure you know what you want before you order.

Northampton has no shortage of coffee shops, but Woodstar is a frequent stop of mine. Absolutely essential on my list of a good coffee shop is loose leaf tea--*good* loose leaf tea. That's a win for Woodstar! I particularly like the Darjeeling, which has subtle floral notes in it. The baked goods are lovely to nibble on, though I agree with the bagel assessment of Jess W. Maybe not inedible, but thin and too crisp; I prefer a plump, chewy bagel. Cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and scones are tasty sweet treats, but not overwhelmingly saccharine. Had the absolutely delicious coconut cake yesterday--each bite was creamily coconut and not too sweet! Also fondly remember a rosemary shortbread topped with apricot preserves and chopped nuts. Haven't had their sandwiches or other more substantial food, so I can't speak to that. The place is often busy and typically has a least an underlying level of conversation and busy-ness--not usually a place for quiet contemplation. Great for chatting with friends, though! The seating outdoors is also nice, and there are a few outlets out there, too, for those lugging charge-ables around. A nice place for a pot of tea and snack!

This is particularly about their having gluten free and vegan baked goods, and not only having them, but having them be, hands down, some of the BEST gluten free / vegan (not celiac friendly, as it is only gluten ingredient free, not a gluten free environment) products ANYWHERE, and I have tried a HUGE variety. And not only that, but they have more than one gluten free-vegan thing, so you have OPTIONS. Yesterday they had a cupcake, a muffin, a cookie or two - I have, over time, tried all of them, and have never been disappointed. Well, maybe the icing on the cupcake is a little too sweet for my taste. Plus amazing coffee. I'm not celiac, but I am [sensitive/allergic/whatever word you use] to gluten and eggs, and this place does a great job dealing with those issues.

Woodstar is charming. The menu has lots of variety and the baked goods are delicious. The outdoor seating is very nice in the summer too. Service is prompt and polite as well.

Living literally two doors down from Woodstar, I'd love it if I felt I were able to go there everyday. Really, I would if not for the downright AWFUL service. Let me explain... If you try to go to Woodstar at any time in the morning/early afternoon on the weekend, prepare to wait in line for 10-15 minutes, and another 10-15 for your coffee/food, all while being clawed at by free-roaming toddlers, given the death stare by judgemental hipsters (including both baristas and patrons), and being skipped in line at least twice by self-righteous Northamptoners who really just need to get there organic, fair-trade soy lattes before you. This goes for most weekdays too. I've had my order forgotten at LEAST 4 times. No joke. As in, waiting the obligatory 15 minutes for your coffee to come, seeing that all of the people who ordered after you have already gotten theirs, and that they're just moving down the line. And then when I politely try to remind the girls behind the counter, they do not even have the basic courtesy to apologize. UNacceptable. As I said, I want to go there, I really do. Their Cafe Vanilla is outstanding (although the quality of your coffee DOES depend on who's making it- not all of Woodstar's baristas are created equal) and their bread and Super Foccacia is amazing (although again, portion size does vary depending on who's behind the counter), but the service is SO bad that returning to Woodstar for more would only make me a masochist. As another reviewer wrote, the vibe here is just bad. There are pseudo-intellectuals who come with their Macbooks and Marxist theory and stay for literally hours on end (I love Marxism but really, you're not fooling anyone with those black framed glasses) and sit alone while taking up a 2-4 person table with piles of their crap. If you really want a good sandwich (although the coffee doesn't compare) walk down a couple blocks to Haymarket. Although the same crowd frequents this cafe as well, it is much more spacious (and the vintage decor is super hip) so you don't have to sit nose-to-nose with them. And the smoothies rule. In summation, if you're willing to get s*** on in exchange for some great coffee, head down to Woodstar. Just don't expect to find a seat, or any respect.

I enjoy a cup of coffee and tea... I usually have it at home or at a local Starbucks here in AZ. While on a recent visit to Northampton, MA my daughter and I slipped into Woodstar Cafe for something warm to drink and a snack. What a wonderful surprise to see so many homemade goodies on display along with a variety of teas and coffees. The atmosphere is excellent here and the food/drinks - terrific. It's small inside so if it's crowded be prapered to get yours to go, but if your lucky you can slip into a small table and enjoy. They do accept credit cards, but only for purchases of $10 or more. Just a tip for you!!

  • Zoe P.

The other side of the coin: this place is popular and busy and frankly, it's got a bad vibe. Everyone's always in a hurry, and they are grabbing your food or your iced tea, or they are eying your seat or they think they're soooo decisive and ready to order and they push past you and then they are not. Or they are hemming and hawing and then waitstaff is rude to them . . . And it's all more trouble than it's worth for average sandwiches (better than the State Street Fruit Market), average baked goods and a slightly generic coffee shop feel.

I love Woodstar Cafe. Not only do they have the best iced coffee I have ever tasted in my life, but they also have amazingly fresh and flavorful sandwiches. Woodstar Cafe will always hold a special place in my heart as it was and is my favorite place for journal writing. Whenever I am in New England I ALWAYS ALWAYS stop at Woodstar Cafe for a coffee, snack, and journaling. REALLY, BEST ICED COFFEE EVER.

Things that make me really happy in a cafe: good coffee, free wifi, a decent lunch, and a gluten free cupcake - Woodstar has it all. Only drawback - not enough outlets for those of us with laptops with bad batteries. Otherwise, Woodstar is a perpetual WIN in my book!!

  • Chris J.

Terrific coffee, Salish Sea strong. And you must also try their pastries and sandwiches, depending on what time of day you're there. The free wifi suggests lingering over coffee, but tables turn over quickly, and in nicer weather you can sit outside.

  • Milanes M.

Their sandwiches are delicious! Their coffee is good as well. I enjoy coming here to study. However, it can get very crowded and filled with people who think shouting across the small tables or on their cellphones is cool. The customer service here is great (but recognize that they are very busy at times). I took my parents here and I felt very comfortable. Will totally return (I was there just a few hours ago)!

WARNING: Mothers with babies in strollers are *not* welcomed at Woodstar Cafe! Unless you want to be given dirty looks and have the staff roll their eyes at you. This place is staffed by incredibly rude hipsters who will give you a bland smile to your face then turn right around (in front of you!) and make snide comments about you to the other employees. I get it, hipster barista, your life sucks. You work in a coffee shop and have grown numb to the niceties of social interaction. But that doesn't mean you get to be an asshole.

This is a really nice cafe off the main streets of Northampton. I appreciated having a bagel sandwich (the Vermonter) with ham, cheddar, and apple, with a price point that was just over $5 with tax. The interior, like the staff, seemed cheery and welcoming. My sandwich was a bit dry, though. Maybe heating it or adding a bit of a condiment would have helped. Still, it's a good bakery/coffee/luncheon spot with a nice selection of things to eat. Service was quick enough, too, to warrant a working lunch or take-out. For me, this wasn't a true stand-out, but it was quite nice.

  • Katie C.

Meh-this place is average in most respects although I haven't tried their sandwiches. The baked goods are mediocre at best, nothing memorable with the exception of the slightly above average chocolate croissant. The pear tart has hints of nutmeg and cinnamon that I liked but the cowgirl cookie, chocolate eclair and chocolate decadence cake are just average. The coffee is a bit watery for my taste. I prefer strong coffee so if you like a weaker brew, this place might be for you. Lastly, the free wifi is awesome but there are too few outlets to accommodate the number of laptops requiring power. So for me it isn't an ideal study spot. The back room would be FANTASTIC for studying if only it were air conditioned. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect coffee shop in Noho.

Stopped for a quick coffee and treat on my drive up to killington. They bake everything there and support local farms (eggs, veggies etc.) Their chai tea is great, not too sweet and doesnt taste artificial like chain coffee shops. BEST CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS EVER. So flaky. So butter. Heaven in my mouth.

I found this place after a long hot night at UMass and it's great. With the AAA towing guy camped across the street, parking is yucky, bring change for the meter. Other than that I ordered a large ginger chai (with xtra ginger! ) and woo boy I love that big fat mug and creamy taste. The bakery makes me wish I was a fat rich kid cuz I just wanted to try everything. Fitness muffins with OJ and apples, blueberry bread pudding, giant cookies, i got the pear-sunflower muffin from another reviewer. I think I would've liked something less dry tho. The atmosphere is nice, the girls are hot, and it's on a wicked cool street for shopping and exploring. Win!

Amazing baked goods, delicious sandwiches, great service, fantastic atmosphere.... sometimes the line is long, and yet they manage to make it move quickly. I don't live in Northampton, but try to pick up bread at Woodstar whenever I'm in town - their multigrain loaf is always moist inside with a great crust. Also, they make the best bran muffin I've ever had -- not easy to make a melt-in-your-mouth bran muffin! And if you're up for something different, try the East Meets West bagel sandwich, which has lox and wasabi and will wake up your taste buds!

Woodstar has got good feng shui ^_^ Something about sitting at one of its cute tables, gazing out their lovely wall of windows upon the New England college town scene outside, while enjoying a good cup makes me feel all warm inside and recharges me. The staff is super friendly, local art graces the walls, while an eclectic mix spins overhead and free wifi gets you tapped in. Granted, it can get pretty well-packed particularly on the weekends..but during off-peak times, it's an oasis of nourishing calm. Sandwiches and baked goods are made in-house and probably the best in town (of course, tastebuds vary so for me at least). My favorites: their awesome eclairs, pear-pie-tart-thing (?) that's what I call it, and curiously a ciabatta roll that's still like 70cents, soft, crusty, and perfect with butter when you come across a warm batch in the morning~

A great little bakery! All of their baked goods are delicious and their sandwiches are great too. My favorite drink is the carrot smoothie! A nice spot for a quick breakfast or lunch that doesn't disappoint.

We stopped here for a morning beverage. There's an outside seating area along the side walk and the side of the building, mostly 2-tops that looked appealing, with lots of seating inside, too. There's street parking in front, but just up the road a bit is a public parking lot that doesn't require parallel parking maneuvers. The baked goods in the case looked really appealing, including peach/rhubarb bread pudding, which we ordered along with an iced cafe mocha and a ginger chai. The cafe mocha was rich tasting with roasted undertones and came with a swirl of dense, and therefore not from a can, whipped cream on top. The ginger chai was delightful, frothy and zingy with a spicy hot cumulative effect, but not overwhelming. The bread pudding was tasty, but tough and dry on the edges. I would definitely give this place another try for the drinks alone. I'd be willing to try another of the baked goods. The pudding could just be a fluke.

Woodstar is one of the joys of living around Northampton! Friendly lively, and, in a town of great coffee houses, Woodstar stands out! I have to speak up for Woodstar Bagels. It is difficult to find a good old-time bagel outside of New York or Boston. The combination of crunchy crust and yeasty slightly salty, slightly sweet inside is hard to find. It lives here at Woodstar! This is classic New York bagel at it's best. That said, I have to warn you that the Woodstar bagel is small -- By traditional bagel standards, you might even call it a mini-bagel. But you can't have everything. Small or not, I'll take Woodstar's Everything Bagel any time!

This cafe is consistently awesome. I had perhaps the best muffin of my life here over the weekend -- the cranberry sunflower is AMAZING. Good customer service, great location and vibe.

Woodstar was basically what kept me sane during my time at Smith. Any time I was having a bad day or was just too stressed to function, I could rely on walking down to Woodstar, getting a big cup of chai and delicious baked pastry and slowly feel my troubles just oozing away. Though it was always crowded and there was always a line, it was always worth the wait and any trouble trying to claim a table. Their bagels deserve a paragraph of their own. Now that I'm no longer living in Northampton, I find myself craving them all the time. I get that they're not for everyone - if you prefer more traditional, soft bagels, than you might not like them as much as I do. But I love them particularly because they are like none other - crispy, toasted perfection (especially the everything bagel). My favorite lunch is still their Bagel Margherita (you can never go wrong with such a generous amount of pesto and cream cheese) and one of their baked goods (in particular, the florentine bar, bread pudding, cupcakes or the pear and goat cheese tart). I also tried their mocha for the first time on a recent visit to Northampton - I can't believe what I've been missing out on for so long. While I'm usually more of a tea person, the rich dark chocolate in the mocha just makes the whole drink divine. I only worry that l won't be able to find another one to compare. I also love their Ginger Chai, which they only introduced last year - it's very gingery and provides a delicious twist on their chai (which by itself, isn't super remarkable).

This place seems so busy all of the time!!! I've never actually ate inside or tasted more than one thing but their coconut cake is so delicious!!! I looked up "coconut cake" in yelp within 25 miles of me and this came up; I ordered a 10" coconut cake for my partner's bday last minute. It was available for pickup the next day even though they ask you to order the cake more ahead of time (thanks woodstar!!!) so I ordered the cake without tasting it, I picked it up, and the cake was so delicious! We both liked it and I will probably order it every year.

Not my favorite Noho coffee shop, and there are certainly enough to be picky about this type of thing. I think the coffee and food is good but too expensive. I value their importance for local ingredients. Atmosphere is loud and crowded, you have to sit very close to others while inside. The patio is nice in the summer and pet friendly too.

Awesome coffee drinks. My favorite in town so far. There sandwiches are very flavorful and prices reflect high quality ingredients. Worth it. Go here!

The place is packed at 10am on a Tuesday...plenty of blogging trustafarians, aspiring "writers", community "activists", and many others pretending to look busy. It's sort of like Uncommon Grounds in Saratoga and virtually the same cast of characters.

Beautiful lattes and the sandwiches are hearty and tasty. Kind of crowded, but that certainly means you've found a great spot. Definitely recommend for lunch and a great work location. Stick to the wall seats if you're looking for an outlet.

Such delicious baked goods! Fresh salads and sandwiches! I'm not a coffee drinker but the chai is delicious "half skinny chai with low ice, please" and so is their tea and newer drink...a lemon/honey/ginger medley over ice or hot. I bring all of my out of town guests here and they all love it. Plus, it's in the old firehouse!

A cafe where I can get a good cup of Dragonwell tea, brewed right? And it has free WiFi, too? I thought I left this kind of place behind in San Francisco! So, so happy. Tea lovers, look no farther: A decent selection and employees that know what they're doing.

I go back to Woodstar every time I am in Noho. I love their coffee and always buy a bag to take home. They are one of the few bakeries I have found that have gluten free baked goods.

Nice local coffee shop that feels slightly upscale but still cozy, airy and non-corporate. Excellent coffee, free wireless. Cyclists seem to like it since there's lots of windows & tables outdoors. I really like this place. But they do seem to have a problem with people staying too long at the tables ( I can see why - it's a great place to work & it's about 2 blocks from Smith College) - unfortunately this seems to manifest in covert tactics to keep you from staying too long - the paninis are so small that once you've had one, the empty feeling in your stomach afterwards will haunt you & get you to go elsewhere for lunch, while the raging A/C will ensure you get lots of hot drinks if you go there in summer clothes. Otherwise a nearly perfect coffee shop.

So, I really hated my 4 years at Smith College. I have an extremely short list of things I liked about the school/Northampton, and Woodstar is definitely in the top 3. I can say it is probably the only thing I miss about the Pioneer Valley specifically. I have never been able to find a comparable macchiato ANYWHERE. However, virtually every time I have ordered one I have been condescended to by the barista. I always get a speech about how their macchiatos are "not the same as the ones you get at Starbucks". No kidding. If I wanted a vanilla bullshit, I'd ask for it. I find it really insulting that these people assume all their customers are idiots and don't know what they're ordering/can't crack the coffee cypher. I wear glasses! Additionally, their French press is good, but their coffee by the pound is def never worth the price, and expect to be asked to leave if you are sitting down longer than it takes you to finish whatever you ordered. Seriously. No studying allowed. I blame them for my GPA pitfalls. Still, I would drive all the way out there just to have that macchiato again. Except that I can't drive.

Woodstar is a great place for lunch. Good affordable sandwiches and drinks. Place almost always seems to be packed so sometimes hard to find a seat but this is one is worth visiting for lunch if you're in the area. Grab an Emily's favorite and enjoy, it's an awesome sandwich and the rest of the menu is pretty great too.

I love, love, love the food here. Their breads are just perfect, the sandwiches fresher and tastier than anything else in Northampton. (Try "the Nantucket"!) Also, the people are friendly, and it's a warm, welcoming place. My only complaint with Woodstar has to do with how they physically organize the space. The process of standing in line, ordering, searching for a table, picking up your order, flavoring your drink with milk/sugar/etc., sitting down, consuming the stuff, and finally bussing your table requires you to perform a highly elaborate figure-eight dance throughout the cafe. Usually, this involves stepping on the feet of more than a few of your fellow customers and criss-crossing the impenetrable queue (which runs through the middle of the space) at least four times during each visit. Multiply that times the hundreds of people they serve each day, and that's a lot of "excuse mes" and "pardon mes", not that everyone is so polite. The "flow" here is just not very well-designed, and can be frustrating if, for example, you're grumpy and just trying to get your morning coffee and get out. If the food weren't so good here (and if Haymarket's system wasn't even worse -- try adding stairs into this formula), I would probably go somewhere else.

  • K. T.

Woodstar has the best coffee and atmosphere in Noho, in my opinion. However, it is sometimes (especially in winter time) hard to find seatings. I agree with others about the setup inside is pretty awkward. It is even uncomfortable at time to be chatting with friends because physical proximity to your next table customers are so close.

Ladies and gents serving (with the cutest faces and most beautiful tattoos) are speedy and efficient, but attentive non the less (the pause to look each other in the eye during the exchange reminds you that yes, you are two people, living, hello, then move on). Excellent coffee and well poured espresso drinks, warm fresh bread, toasted bagels, and well balanced sandwiches, salads and pastries galore, it's all there on the physical consumption level. Filled with constant light, movement, unpretentious and varied customers, while somewhat noisy and crowded, somehow studying amid such productivity feels right. Gripping their massive for-here mugs with both hands, every few weekends without fail I find myself here, drinking in the morning and the crowd.

I love the Woodstar. My wife and I have been going there most Sundays since they opened and have no plans to stop. The muffins are good, the breads are good, the croissants are good and the cookies are great. The bear claws were awesome, but they stopped baking them. The place and most of the customers are Noho Hip, but we're the least hip people imaginable (seriously. Look around some Sunday morning, pick out the totally unhip couple, and come over to say "Hi") and we're perfectly comfortable. As others have mentioned, it gets very crowded, so get there before 9 on Sundays (at which point you'll have good parking and a short wait), or don't come by until after 10. My wife has a latte most Sundays and loves them. None of the espresso drinks has ever been a disappointment. Why isn't this a five star review? Two things: first, the plain coffee is pretty bad, almost always sour and over-roasted. Second, you have to be territorial about waiting for your drink, since some customers assume that the first latte to come must be theirs. As a result, the milling crowd at the server's end of the counter (which is between the door and the ordering area/cash register) gets to be a bit of a scrum.

This cafe makes the best iced coffee in Noho. They cold brew it which is a process so easy with results so delicious that I started cold brewing my own at home. I told my daughter about it and she constantly has a pitcher of cold brewed coffee in her frig. But Woodstar is more than cold brewed coffee. While I have found their hot chocolate and their lattes do vary a bit in deliciousness, on the whole, they are of high quality. Every once in a while, the hot chocolate is tepid and the lattes want strength. Their bread is wonderful and many of their baked goods rank with Northampton's best. The pear-almond torte. The croissants, esp., the pain au chocolat and the spinach croissants. Anything with fresh berries. Like many area folk, I alternate between Woodstar and Haymarket. You will never see me at Starbucks. Local forever.

Woodstar is my favorite sunny day coffee shop in Northampton. It's great for sunny days because of its big beautiful windows, bright blue tile tables, and outdoor seating, while Haymarket is absolutely cozy on a rainy day. That said, if forced to choose between the two, I'd pick Woodstar. Some tasty items to order: -The Emily's Favorite sandwich (they do amazing things to tofu) -Iced Coffee (the best I've ever had) -East meets Woodstar bagel sandwich -Any muffin ever. Also, their bread is really really good, but honestly, Hungry Ghost is right down the street, so I almost never buy a loaf. I've found the serving staff to be cheerful and friendly and generally adorable. I really want to give it a 5 because I like Woodstar so much these shortcomings don't really matter to me, but it can get crowded and cramped, and there's very few power outlets, so it's not the best place to linger with your laptop. I also believe it's cash only, while Haymarket no longer is.

  • Alfonsina S.

Woodstar is great. I go here every day and it's always good. Even when it gets crowded, I feel like the line runs smoothly and I am in and out in no time. Their teas are flavorful, their lattes are strong and rich, and their muffins are amazing. My only suggestion is that they make their own chai. That sickeningly sweet Oregon chai stuff is pitiful. When I want chai, I go to Northampton Coffee instead..

Ok, this review is about one thing, and that's all that I needed to give the Woodstar 5 stars: the oatmeal raisin cookie. It's simply the best oatmeal raisin cookie I've ever eaten in my life. First of all, the cookie is the size, and probably weight, of a small child. Secondly, it's soft and delectably moist. And third, it's not overly sweet. It's just the perfect meal in a cookie shape. I feel like I've just been given a big hug from my grandmom after eating one. All the other cookies and various baked concoctions I've eaten from Woodstar are definitely damn good, but if this place only sold the oatmeal raisin cookie, I'd be completely fine with that.

I love Woodstar! Always have, always will. They have delicious coffee and great little snacks. I love their bagels and lox and their sandwiches, too. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is nice. It can get pretty busy, so sometimes it's hard to find a table, but I've found one 80% of the time I look for one.

Coffee strong and bold. I had a white cheddar, granny smith apple, with ham and Dixon mustard on an everything bagel. Yum! Good price, nice atmosphere for meeting up with friends. A bit too loud to read a novel or get work done. Nice outside seating along the street to remind you almost of a European cafe.

This little gem is my favorite NoHoian delight. In this order, it was the location of my Smith summer job interview, subsequent hiring, and high, rickety stool upon which my butt parked to study for my comprehensive exams all goddamn summer long. But I digress. The sandwiches are both fascinating and delicious, with myriad creative uses of granny smith apple. Chai flows freely, and the bathroom keys are on really, really big kitchen utensils. It's pricey, but it just feels right. It's sometimes so crowded you will wait an hour for a seat, but is not hunger the best sauce? Basically, this is a five-star spot that got discovered, with all inevitable three star consequences. And that's all I have to say about that.

The other half of us weighing in -- I have to agree with the earlier review here. Every time I make it to Northampton (which isn't that often), this place is high on my list of things to do. Every baked good I've eaten has been fresh, delicious, and unique (herb & cheese scone? yes please! tender and moist, a dried out rock like so many other coffee shop scones). Definitely try the hot chocolate -- nice and dark and comes in a big bowl-like mug topped with thick fresh whipped cream (unsweetened, I think). It will make you feel better about braving western Mass in the middle of winter.

Delightful coffee and an ample enough selection of pastries to make any belt notches expand. Their bagels, however, are near inedible, and the cramped seating induces claustrophobia in even the most open and liberal of diners. Six-hour novel writers dominate the sparse electrical outlets and to add insult to injury, my favorite sandwich has been obliterated! Long live the North End.

  • David P.

Woodstar Cafe has great drinks, great sandwiches, and great baked goods. However, the seating is incredibly awkward and usually full. If you ARE lucky enough to get one of the tiny tables, you'll have to be 2 inches away from the person next to you, making it almost impossible to have anything but a "public" conversation. In fact, you will be seated MUCH closer to the strange next to you than to your friend across the table.

  • Emily H.

I work next to Woodstar and stop by 3-5 times a week. I'm surprised to read that some people think they are slow. Typically by the time I pay and get down to the pick-up counter my coffee is waiting for me. They've got this system down pat! I love their savory scones best of all, and the coffee (hot and iced) is great.

    (5)
  • Maria H.

Consistently great food. Often busy but worth waiting in line. Pastries, including bagels, all baked by the cafe. Amazing oatmeal cookies--and huge! Eggs come from their own farm. And they are smart enough not to serve tomatoes in the off season.

Really good French bread, cookies, so-so Mocha macaroons (had to try, they looked fabulous) excellent sandwiches, and top-notch coffee. Nice and friendly staff, clean, well-kept shop, have been there twice and will be back whenever I'm in "NoHo" (what gives, don't folks know how to spell NOrtHAmpton?)

  • Jennifer B.

I love Woodstar. Let's get the complaints out of the way: it's sometimes hard to get a table. Drink orders and food orders don't always come out around the same time or get completed without a little prodding. That said, their breads are mouthwatering. Their bagels, contrary to other reviews, are quite good, and a proper bagel should have a bit of chew to the outside. (A fluffy bagel with a soft outside is just a roll with a hole in the middle.) The desserts are phenomenal, and the cookies are the best in town (with a possible exception for Hungry Ghost's magical Cowboy Cookie). They have excellent vegan and gluten free options that people with unrestricted diets will actually want to eat.

Everyone loves the Haymarket Cafe but for me, the Woodstar beats it - hands down. Great friendly atmosphere, delicious food (made with lovely rich products). Cute tables, clean toilets... I need them to post me over some of that pumpkin/chocolate cheesecake on sale last autumn. SO damn good! Best in Noho!

Oh my god, the cookies. Do I really need to say more? I love cookies. These cookies are heavenly. They are the ideal to which all others are compared. No seriously. The cookies. The only down side is everyone knows it, too. The place is often crowded with little to no seating available. Outdoor seating is nice for warmer weather, but that's often taken, too. I have also had some Mochas and Chai teas, which are also pretty good, but it is hard to match their awesome cookies.

My wife and I stopped here three times during a recent vacation. On each occasion, the espresso-based drinks were of a consistently high quality (produced, by the way, by three different baristas...an excellent sign). The food was also delicious. Seating can be a bit of a challenge during peak hours, but this cafe demonstrated consistent excellence.

I have to say, quality coffee shops in the valley are few and far between. Woodstar is one of the good ones. While it can be a little crowded, the shop has a warm inviting feel to it. The staff is always friendly and helpful, even when the line is a mile long. The line is often a mile long, but don't let it discourage you. Competent staff makes short work of the order line and beverages turn up promptly. Since most of the food is made scratch, it can take a few minutes for your meal to show up. The cafe serves a variety of coffee and tea drinks. Food can be consumed in the form of salads, sandwiches and tasty, tasty pastries. The coffee is good, but the real reason to come here is the pastry case. It's always got something tasty in it and usually not that bad for you. Hey, they're cookies and cakes, they're meant to be treats, not staples. There's limited outside seating. The cafe is located on a side street in town. Public (metered) parking is available on the street. Coffee: B+ (it's good, very good, but the food is better) Food: A Pastries: A+ Staff: A+ Shop atmosphere: B+ Bathrooms: A-

While not "the" Northampton coffee spot*, Woodstar keeps up pretty well with delicious bagels, breads, and some damn good coffee beans. If you are trying to read or work, it's best to go in mid-afternoon. I often find myself distracted by delightful and interesting Northampton people watching whenever I attempt to get anything done here. I highly recommend Le Bon Jambon and The Works. Oh, and their Jasmine Pearl Tea. *See Haymarket

I like this place because it brings out my inner hipsterness. Everyone that comes here either has a mac, ipad or iphone, wears hemp, has dreads, rides a bike, or is gay. You need to atleast be or have ONE of those things to get served here. Other than that, the coffee selection is amazing and so is the food/pasteries/bread! It can be kind of hard to get a table though because too many people are sitting with there macs pretending to write on there blog or are writing fake screen plays while trying to get on missed connections at the same time.

I got a fitness muffin as a morning treat and it was awesome - vegan, gluten free, trans fat free, and delicious. I also bought a cupcake for dinner and pear tart for my guests. Everyone agreed that the desserts were top notch. This place gets major props for using earth balance or coconut oil in their gf/df stuff, these are expensive ingredients and a lot of places use gross margarine. Also, I thought the young lady who waited on us was very sweet, quick, and attentive.

A couple of delicious turkey with apple and dijon and cheese sandwiches on "so good I gotta take a loaf home" sourdough, an out of this world oatmeal raisin cookie, a pretty good Guiness cupcake, a great vibe and enough change from my double sawbuck to leave a decent tip, and if you feel put out by hipsters or have a problem with the service you are way too uptight. Chill daddy-o.

The Woodstar makes the best pastries for a Noho coffee shop, and I am especially addicted to the lemon cupcakes. The crowd is more moneyed and professional than you'd find at the Haymarket, but it is still cool and fun to be around, in its way. The staff is cute like you'd expect, the place has an energetic color scheme and cool design (it's in the town's former fire station), and often has better art than typical coffee shop offerings. I deduct a half-star because, even though the place isn't a chain, it's slick enough that it almost feels like it could be. I take off another 1.5 stars because they actually had a sign taped to the counter that says "please limit your stay to 45 minutes so other customers can enjoy the Woodstar" or something along those lines. That sign is now gone, but there's still something that tries to be more tactful/humble in chasing you out. True, the place is almost always hell of crowded, and I don't blame the owner for wanting to turn over tables and make a few bucks. . . but wait, yes I do blame the owner for that! If the Woodstar were a sit-down lunch restaurant in a busy city, that'd be one thing, but this is a coffee shop/bakery in a college town with 29K inhabitants. The whole point of a coffee shop is to be able to hang around and do as you damn well please, whether it be reading a book, hanging out with your pals, drawing stupid sketches that you hope some cute girl will ask you about, or working on your stupid poems on your stupid Macintosh laptop until your battery runs dry. Which it will at Woodstar, by the way, because there's a grand total of one (1) electrical outlet in the entire place--and surely this is by design. I'm not against restaurant owners making money, and heaven knows that rents are way too high in Noho, but really: if you're allergic to cats and dogs, don't open a pet shop; if you're a pederast, don't open a day care center; and if you are uptight about people reading a book at your table, don't open a coffee shop.

Nice coffeehouse in downtown N. Hampton. Drinks are great and prices are fair. Outdoor seating is nice when the weather cooperates. They don't mind you sitting and working (some other coffeehouses in N. Hampton do). I'll surely return next time i'm in town.

i love woodstar! i've been going here for years, since i went to college in the area, and on nice days in boston all i want to do is get an iced tea from woodstar and sit in the sun reading a book. they have been a little snotty in the past to students, which is a bummer since we heavily frequent woodstar, even when a local couple is reading a newspaper over coffee at the same table for hours. i once got asked to give up my table (i had been studying there for about 3 hours on a tuesday evening) even though i had just ordered food, plus the 3 coffees and a muffin i ordered earlier. so i'm still bitter about that. but that was the owner/manager, who seems a bit stressed when she is there. the staff themselves are always very chill and they have the best coffee and bread/baked goods around!

Best coffee I had for many years. I'll get out of my way to get their cappuccino. As opposed to any other coffee shop I tried anywhere in New England, this one is always consistent. I read the negative reviews about this place, and yes it's packed, sometimes there are some little children, but please it's never that terrible as you describe it, and the atmosphere is actually nice with the photography on the walls and the friendly people who work there. I think the Sandwiches and the baked goods are great too. Very creative, very interesting and nicely presented. I wish there was such a high quality coffee shop in the Boston area, and I have a few that I really like, but they all far behind - Sorry :(

I was doubtful, back in the day, when Woodstar first opened. I mean, doesn't Northampton have enough coffee shops? And yes, that might be true, but Woodstar is one of the best, and I am glad it's there even though it is a constant struggle for me to decide whether I want to go to Haymarket or Woodstar (both so amazing!) While it can be very busy, and you almost always run into people you know, the hot chocolate and mochas are spectacular, and the food is AMAZING. Try their sandwiches, their scallion and cheddar scones and their multigrain toast. And I love the vibe of Woodstar: it is bright and full of life. Families and students crowd the tables, and it is always fun to listen in on some of the ridiculous and amusing conversations while sipping your latte.

So many good things to choose from here! My sandwich was excellent (the Thunderbolt, I believe): roast beef, cheese, roasted red peppers, etc. on very fresh bread. Combined with a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie, a cup of their daily special coffee, and a table outside, and I was very happy indeed. I agree that the setup inside is pretty awkward, but I'm willing to overlook that based on the quality of the food/drinks/atmosphere. Also, the tables in the main room are thisclose together, and I was forced to put my butt in the face of the woman sitting next to me to leave my seat. (Sorry lady!) But that's what you get at a popular cafe I suppose. One nice touch I noticed was their preprinted 'decaf' sign they put in front of your coffee at the pick-up area so no one gets confused. I believe Woodstar is owned by the same people as Haymarket and Esselon, in Hadley. "..many of whom believe Obama is not liberal enough" - haha, love it. Welcome to the Pioneer Valley!

Woodstar Cafe, oh how I love thee.... let me count the ways. 1) Let's start off with the sandwiches- oh so good, reasonably priced and out in a jiffy. I had the turkey and cranberry sauce sandwich (and it made my Thanksgiving seem unimpressive). My friend had the sandwich with chicken and pesto and spent most of our lunch "mmmming" over how dang good it was. 2) Of course we saved room for dessert and it kept getting better. Loved my lemon cupcake and the taste I had of the pumpkin cheesecake. 3) And the people, we met so many nice people in this little bustling cafe. The other customers were so excited that we were newbies to the cafe and the woman, who waited on us, was patient and answered all our questions. A wonderful place to come and sit and eat good food. Thank you, Woodstar Cafe

I love Woodstar. I first started going here on a regular basis when I moved to Northampton. Their coffee is deeeelish. I think that most of their coffee actually is brewed at Eselon (sp?) cafe in Hadley. Their iced coffee is worth the extra dollar or so just cause its so yummy. My old favorite is their chai, iced or hot...so good. Now I am obsessed with their lattes. Even tho it is my favorite place in Northampton I wish they were faster. I order one coffee at 8 am and I have enough time to read my morning emails and send a few twitpics of cute latte designs. It is also a huge Smithy hang out place and if I actually wanted to bring my mac over there for a mid afternoon nytimes.com sesh I might feel out of place in my uggs. Needless to say their drinks are so good that nothing else really matters, plus nothing makes me happier than their peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies. I always am stealing their cupcake ideas too. I havent had many of their desserts but their bagels are not that great - kinda flat. Worst part is that they do not accept cards. Needless to say I get excited when I have cash so I can go to Woodstar in the morning!

The iced chai was very refreshing. I want to go back and try more things. Very relaxed atmosphere with no shortage of people on their Mac Books, iPads and iPhones.

kinda my new fav! THey have some Goat in the Field or something like that bagel sandwich -- with smoked salmon -- that is Waaaay better and waaaay cheaper than any bagel place or wanna be bagel place in all of the valley! I'm a late bloomer, they've been around, but I have not.

The food deserves a solid 4, just beware the mustard because it has a strong horse radish (think wasabi) kick. I had a pre-made salad that was nice, though the dressing was not so great. We bought a pear pecan bread that our friend loved. I wouldn't buy it again, though. The ginormous ginger molasses cookie was terrific. The pumpkin choc chip cookie would have been better without the chocolate chips. All in all, no complaints and very good food.

Great place! Best coffee I've had around the area, and really descent desserts. Hardly ever go other coffee places after I found it an year ago.

This place has great sandwiches. However, the customer service has been really horrible, and it's hard to get a table. It just isn't worth the effort when there are so many great places in Noho
