Mussels are the best on the Cape, Escargot delicious. Chandra at the bar makes a wicked good drink.

Excellent dinner all around! For a 'mall location' you don't often expect much but this was definitely more of a fine dining experience. The round up: - scallops perfectly cooked and served with a very cool 'fried rice' -salmon -melon honey sweetness balanced with greens and taro chips - chicken cooked perfectly accompanied by a more than generous portion of ratatouille -finally a apricot dessert that was so amazing we were glad we saved room to split it between four people. Don't miss this spot! Wish I had the recipe for the salmon!!

I went here this afternoon for my birthday, which also happens to be on the date of the French holiday, "Bastille Day." The entire place was embellished with flags, balloons, and flowers. The staff were even dressed in red and blue to celebrate. There was a menu for the occasion that replaced the regular menu, but there wasn't much variety. As for the food (which came out very fast), the complimentary bread was burnt. I tried their stake, which was great! I also tried Mac n Cheese, which was sort of flavorless to my disappointment, but the cheese made it taste better. The potatoes were good, nothing special. Overall; lovely atmosphere and OK food. Will try again.

Are you looking for a fancy night out while on the Cape? Not necessarily looking to dine at yet-another old school New England seafood restaurant? If your answer to both of the above questions is "yes" then this is a place to consider. Located in the outdoor mall known as Mashpee Commons, Bleu is a french bistro with a warm and well appointed dining room that is clearly the best restaurant in the whole complex. Food is fresh, inventive (but not overly) and very tasty. Service is professional but a touch slow - in the times I have been here it always seems like the waitress has a table or two more than she should. If they brought one more waiter on a night it would make a huge difference. Wine list is a touch small for a french bistro with this caliber of cuisine. Nevertheless, the overall experience is quite good and I will be back.

The food is delicious. We had the Petite Filet and the Rib Eye for dinner. They were cooked perfectly and the Blood Orange Margarita was reason by itself to go back.

This was our second time visiting Bleu. The first time was great, but this time not so much. We had reservations at 8, and were seated on time. The wine wasn't delivered until 8:30. Bread until 8:40. My wife ordered the scallops and was served sea bass, so we waited for the correct meal. The food was pretty bland, not what we had previously. Not really one to complain too much, but the whole thing wasn't very good.

2 out of 6 meals were delivered late with no apologies from management. Victims of captive audience.

Great food for the area, good French chef. Service could be a little better, but overall one of the better places around.

I was invited to a private function - which was magnificent! It was a wine pairing of Rose wines with Provençal food. It was just wonderful! Another great experience!

We were searching for something other than a soup and salad place and then we discovered Bleu. Mashpee Commons is a west coast-like open air shopping mall. All of the stores are built out separately, to feel like a little village. Very New England. Very quaint. We stopped in for lunch and was immediately impressed. The interior has a lot of dark wood, brass and french inspired prints -- like a Parisian bistro. (Photos) The menu is equally French, with a few surprises. You'll find things like Escargot, Onion soup, Warm Brie with Figs; but also things like Bratwurst and Knackwurst sausages, Baked Macaroni and Lobster Cakes. So, Chef Frederic Feufeuis is both playful and has some range incorporating some local dishes as well. See menu link:http://www.bleurestaurant.com/ The two of us ordered, the Gratinee(gruyere) a l'Onion for $6.00, the Roasted Beet and Goats Cheese Salad for $8.00, the Croque Monsieur for $10.00. We also ordered separately the Ice Tea and Lemonade for $2.00 each. See photos. The food was delicious and very well priced too. Our bill including taxes, but before gratuities came to a meager $29.75. The service was equally good and very attentive. The atmosphere at Bleu that afternoon was fun, particularly when three Grand Dames arrived and started ordering the Lobster Cakes and a couples of dozen Oysters off the dinner menu. They were a hoot. Enjoy!

We enjoyed another outstanding lunch at Bleu yesterday. Beverly had Pinot Grigio followed by French onion soup, and pan seared scallops with couscous. I had a Sazarac cocktail, and a glass of Pinot Grigio. For lunch I had escargot followed by day boat haddock. As usual everything way excellent, compliments to Chef Feufeu!

My favorite place on the cape. The food is fantastic. Great wine list. What I like best is how accommodating the chef and servers always are. I have special dietary requirements and some restaurants make me feel that I should have stayed home.

My mother and I had lunch at Bleu and were very inpressed with the food! She had macaroni and cheese - elevated with brie, bacon, and figs. It was outstanding, and ther serving was so generous, she took half of it home to eat later! I had the herb crusted roasted chicken on ceasar salad and was also very happy with the elevated tastes in the dressing of the salad and the herbs on the chicken. It's our new favorite restaurant. The chef's interest in food and flavor is evident and I can't wait to taste more of his dishes.

This is my happy place! :) Throughout my years on/off the Cape, Bleu has consistently remained one of my favorite restaurants. Consistently stunning on quality of ingredients, passion of cuisine, taste, and attentiveness of service; everything I walk through the doors, I walk out happier (and heavier) than I walked in. The atmosphere is cozy and warm but not crowded, the food is delicious but not overly rich, and the servers are present, pleasant, and knowledgeable without being snobbish or saccharine. A few tips: The wingback chairs by the window are the best spot to sit when it snows/rains. The street is perfect for storm watching and the big armchairs make you feel so cozy in contrast to the weather. Get the fois gras. Even if you're doing the prix fixe, get out on the side. Just do it. It's perfect. You're welcome. Check out the cocktail menu every time you go. It changes seasonally and there's always something wonderful on there. But don't get too attached. I miss you, Mad Hatter Manhattan! Try the candy on the hostess station and do not skip the chocolates you get with your check.

  • Dee D.

Had a Prix fixe dinner here. Totally recommend this value !! Choice from 3 apps, 3 entree and 3 desserts, 1 each per person. The price was $25.00 per person and was worth every penny!! I got the brie/chutney salad, Salmon over asparagus and sweet pot, and creme brulee dessert. There are recommended wine pairings, which I did partake. Portions were big and absolutely delicious. I was so full, I barely finished the dessert. Then to top it off, when they brought the check they served us a few hand made chocolate truffles. The place was beautiful, atmosphere very comfortable, service top notch and food outstanding.

We live on Cape year round and Bleu is by far the best meal in Mashpee Commons and one of our favorites on the Cape.

  • Brian C.

We live on the Cape year round and although tough to get to Bleu in the summer with all the traffic and such, we love going in the off season... We love the food, the service, and the ambiance...lets just say the prix fixe is the best deal going...what a value!!! That said, the regular menu is outstanding and should not be overlooked. Don't pass this wonderful restaurant by and remember them especially in the off season when most businesses really need your support...

Brilliant! I cannot stress enough how perfect our evening was! This place is amazing and worth every penny! We went with a "French Tapas" style. (Our lovely waitress coined the term when we told her we were ordering off the apps section.) The warm Brie Spinach salad, Foie Gras Torchon, and the Seafood Trio for Two along with the Bone Marrow dish, which was one of the specials, were all flawlessly executed, amazingly flavorful and presented so well as to look straight off the pages of a French cuisine magazine. Describing in detail each dish would do the Chef(s) a disservice for lack of descriptiveness. Anyone would find it hard to describe that feeling you get when your taste buds explode with flavor and your eyes roll back, you tilt your head to one side exhale and softly say "wow!" Now repeat that with every dish; I must have looked like a fool,or possessed at the least with my eyes fluttering and my head lolling about but I truly did not care, it was bliss! The only comments that are not gushingly positive are that the Foie Gras Au Torchon was super salty and the "table cloth" was literally a piece of thick white paper almost like butcher paper. The Torchon style of Foie is unique in how it is prepared and is not for everyone- Foie in general is touchy for some anyway but you know what, I love it you don't have to- but this was more of a mousse to me than an actual lobe due to the processes involved before serving. I could babble on about the methods of dealing with Foie forever but now is not the time. I will say if you are a fan like me there is a place in Quebec you will want to research and put on your bucket list for food-Au Pied de Cochon- and YES it is on Yelp! Phew, anywho! The paper table cloth seemed a bit out of place. It was some fancy paper don't get me wrong but it was still a big hunk of paper they would carry out precut when putting a table together. I am not a messy eater nor am I prone to spilling my drinks but my wife is and this paper shows every drip and makes you look like a toddler having an especially messy meal. I'm exaggerating a bit but you get the idea. This observation in no way took away from our experience I just thought it pertinent to add in the review. Save your money; eat-in a few days you planned on going out so you can go to Bleu, this amazing restaurant, and order anything and everything you want! I believe this is the only way to truly enjoy a restaurant of this caliber.

My husband met me there after I told him they had a Croquet Madame. He loves a place in Boston that serves them so he hoped it would be as good. They did not disappoint...the sandwich was delicious! I had the goat cheese and beer salad and the French onion soup which was also delicious. Two thumbs up! Wish we loved closer! Service was great to!

My palate is still convalesing! Every taste bud was excited during my dining experience at Bleu!! It's been 4 hours since I left there and I am craving for more! Awesome dining experience from the wine , appetizers, dinner, etc. Will be back! I was blown away by Bleu!

Delicious food & wonderful service. The seafood appetizer for two is not to be missed. I had the duck (which had a wonderful flavor, but I should have ordered a bit more rare) and my husband had the haddock which was out of this world. Didn't have room for dessert, but the apps and main courses are wonderful. Definitely will return.

A very enjoyable restaurant. I had the mango topped swordfish with shrimp risotto cake and asparagus. The swordfish was cooked perfectly-tender and juicy all the way through. Our server was very attentive and took great care of us. Not the cheapest joint around, but in this case you will get what you pay for. I ate inside at the request of one of our party, but if it were up to me I would have been seated outside. A very nice experience.

I really want to love it here, but just can't. My husband and I have gone several times hoping it gets better and it just doesn't. I have to agree with the other poor reviews that state the service is horrible! We've sat at the bar with empty drinks just waiting to order more and have ended up leaving because they don't give us the chance to order more. The last time (and final straw) I was there with my Husband we sat at the bar and had two women in their 50s next to us. These women were obviously drunk and talking much louder than needed. They must have run out of their own things to complain about because they moved on to talking about what my Husband was wearing - in a very rude manner. Totally killed our night and we had to leave. The bartender gave us an "I'm sorry" look but did nothing. I won't be wasting my time here with so many other great bars at the Commons.

My parents live in Falmouth and this is one of their favorite restaurants around. Needless to say I get taken here twice a year when I come to visit. Some things here are pretty good: scallops, ahi appetizer, lobster cake. A few other things are not so good. Last visit I had the lamb shank shepherds pie which, although wonderful in appearance, was bland and under seasoned. Service is usually pretty friendly which is good since the restaurant is often pack on summer nights. Maybe my favorite thing is their homemade toffee that is kept in a jar near the hostess podium. Make sure you grab some on your way in (and out) of the restaurant.

This restaurant offers the very best in French cuisine. Love the atmosphere especially in the bar with a big wing back chairs. The restaurant is cozy but not cramped. The service is outstanding. The servers are always polite and friendly answering any questions with a clear understanding of the menu. The portions are generous and food is served in a timely fashion. French onion soup is outstanding and there is a wide selection of appetizers to get your meal started. The peppercorn crusted steak is delicious with a lovely rich sauce. Summertime is here and the outdoor seating adds another dimension to this fine restaurant . Bon Appetit!!

In the words of Gordon Ramsay, "if you served this in Paris, they would shoot you." Lousy, inattentive servers and bar staff. Overpriced hospital food. Questionable cleanliness. Could not believe my parent's had been wasting their time and money here since settling down the Cape! Sloppy chowder with too many leeks of various sizes. Bland Shephard's pie (how is that even on a French menu?) Steak au poivre was a joke. No peppercorns, a sauce that tasted like powdered gravy and a spoon of sour cream trying to pass for "creme fraiche." Seriously a joke! Sad part is this place seems to cater to a crowd that lost their taste buds in the 90s and can't tell they're getting ripped off. Step it up, Chef.

This is a good restaurant. The roast chicken is excellent. HOWEVER, the chef is unreasonable in his stubborn refusal to substitute sides that accompany. This pettiness makes it less than a favorite.

We came here for lunch on a late Friday afternoon. We were seated right away. The food was delish! We had 6 ppl and we ordered the pate, escargot, Brie, salmon salad, duck confit, mussels and Mac n cheese. We enjoyed everything but the only thing that was just okay was the salmon salad. The staff was attentive and friendly. Would go back.

Sooo disapointed with our dinner!! We went for a graduation dinner and it was so marginal! Service was so bad! Waitress seemed annoyed and in the weeds. The lobster cake was horrible!! We live on Cape Cod, the home of great lobster...not here....rubbery, spongy lobster..should be served in Ohio!! The rest of the dinner was ok....not worth the money at all! The Chef would not do ANY substitutions... not even trading out mashed potatoes for fingerling potatoes. Come on...the filet mignon was $33 and you cant switch fingerling potatoes for mashed???? PLEASE!!! Bleu is NOT worth the money or the effort putting up with bad service! Skip this place!!

I've been visiting Bleu for the past few summers and have had only great experiences. The ambiance is casual-elegance with a mild bistro feel. We enjoy taking lunch in the front room, and dinner in the main dining area. The service is inconsistent; mine has always been great, but my parents, who are regulars, have had some of the worst service on record there. The wine is good and the quality of the food is superior to almost any other food you can get on the Cape. I highly recommend giving it a try, and if at first you don't succeed, try again.

I realize that this restaurant can put out some delicious food; however, the service was the WORST I have had in any restaurant in the US. Our server, Jenn, took our order and after it was delivered, she disappeared for the rest of the time we were having our lunch. She never came back to say, " How is everything? or May I get you anything else?" There were no bus people to check on us, either. I had an issue with my lunch which could have been taken care of if anyone had stopped by our table, but they didn't. All four of us wanted more ice tea, but no one was to be found. My friend started to choke on a crumb from the bread and had to drink what was left of my tea to clear her throat because her glass was empty. Also, even though the restaurant had only a few customers, we were seated way back in a crowded corner table where one of our group almost fell trying to get into her chair because the chairs are heavy and difficult to maneuver. The meals were fairly good, although one of the ladies' meal was cold.

A truly memorable meal. Perfectly prepared scallops with a delicious couscous and chick pea side topped with chutney. Server not very personable. My husband had the seared salmon, also a perfect meal. Bon appetite!

Went in tonight to have a drink at the bar. Beer was cold but so was the service from the barmaid. She totally ignored us after our first drink. Glasses sat empty until we finally asked for our check. Would have stayed for another if she had only acknowledged us. It will be along time before we go to Bleu again. We get better service at the 99! And, the beers don't cost $6+

Mu husband and I ate at Bleu on Saturday night. We called earlier for a reservation but could only get the patio, which we accepted. This is our third time eating at this restaurant. The food was very good; we spilt the mussels appetizer which was delicious, and I had the halibut, while my husband had the scallops entree. He said they were cooked perfectly and really enjoyed them. My halibut was also really good. The only issue I have is the seating, yes it's in an alley way but a little bit of work would go a long way. We had the second to last table to the end of the patio, cold, lots of Mosquitos which I'm allergic to and not very comfortable. Maybe adding a heat lamp at the end of the patio would help. In fact we didn't have the worst table, while we were there 3 different couples refused the last table. It was awful, sits in front of the electric meters and some kind of service shed. The restaurant probably lost 500 to 600 dollars while we were there, Why not try and make it a more pleasant experience for guests/customers? Spend a couple of hundred dollars and don't be so stingy. See photo attached for that last table and where they expect guests to sit. Very disappointing.

Best restaurant on Cape Cod. French food at it's finest. The chef from France is also the owner.

I would say the scrambled eggs pizza but they don't have it today. But that is ok because the lump crab egg benny was delicious! I have been going to Bleu since my parents moved to Mashpee in 2003. Best place in Mashpee and there really has been much more on the Cape that make me come back as much as Bleu has. Just an amazing place for food drinks and fun! Sunday brunch is the best!!!!

Good food, though not quite Paris. I give it 3.5 and round up to 4. The chef is on his game; the waitress was asleep. Had lunch with my wife on a beautiful sunny day out on the patio. I had the confit de canard, she the home roasted turkey club. The confit could have had a little more taste, but by American (not French) standards it was quite good. Apart from the absent-minded waitress, it was a pleasant experience. First she brought out the dinner menu at 1 pm. Then took 10 minutes to bring a glass of wine, and forgot a silverware service. Food price was reasonable, but wine was $17 for two glasses of a passable French red and a Rheingau qualitätswein. It came to $57 with a moderate tip. Quite a lot for lunch for two. May try it again but skip the wine. I drink a wonderful chianti at home for $8 a bottle. (I won't tell you the name because it might spoil the great deal.)

  • Ken L.

For wine, I choose the lowest price Pinot Noir. It was quite good. The service was above average. I ordered the fish chowder. It contained some VERY LARGE chunks of potato. I had to cut the potato chunks in half with my spoon before I could eat them. There was not a lot of fish in the soup. Needed more fish and less potato. Overall taste was good. Two of us ordered duck. I ordered mine medium well, another person at our table ordered theirs medium. Mine came well done and theirs came medium rare. Even though mine was overcooked, the taste was quite good. Tuna that was ordered medium rare came properly cooked and "tasted good".

Excellent cuisine with very fresh ingredients is always a success. To definitely try whenever you come to Cape Cod. Don't dress too casual though as it is "the" elegant restaurant in town ;-)

  • Steve D.

Solid fine dining experience, but on the pricey side. Fish 3 ways appetizer was delicious, the lamb shepard's pie hearty and hot--great winter dinner, and the roasted duck was perfectly prepared. Ambience is chic and comfortable in a French sort of way. But I can't get past the fact that dinner here costs as much as some of the better restaurants in San Francisco or New York.

Food so good you'll cry Sacrebleu!!! Chef Fred Feu Feu's dishes are the real deal...traditional French cuisine executed perfectly. Rich, delicious Cassoulet. Tender savory Lamb Chops, Hearty comforting Daube de Provance-Beef Stew. The bar features a real Absinthe Drip, several tasty original martinis and an awesome bar menu with cheese and meat boards, etc. There is no other place on Cape Cod like it. Charming & helpful staff, Cool Decor, Impeccable food and drinks... The Best!!

Visited tonight for our Valentine's dinner. We saw that they offered a prix fixe menu, saw something we both liked and ordered up the bacalao chowder (great, like a hybrid of vichyssoise and a Rhode Island chowder), my wife ordered the roasted chicken and I the pork loin bordelaise (again, wonderful),and for dessert, my wife ordered the caramel rice pudding w/ caramel (which she had ordered on a previous visit - AMAZING) and I had an almond and pear cake. With an understanding that there may be differences due to it being prix fixe, we were surprised by the generous portions on the soup and entrees. After enjoying the first two courses, I was psyched for dessert. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. I've dined at Bleu 3-4 times now and have been very satisfied with each meal. Desserts this time were a little off: the rice pudding and caramel were thin, the almond and pear cake felt slightly over baked although moist in the center, with touches of pear. The cake itself although made with almond meal lacked almond flavor and the vanilla sauce that accompanied the cake was no more than a quarter in size. I'm sure we'll dine again at Bleu as the service is great and the setting romantic, I'm just left with giving a 3star review when I'd like to give it higher.

My favorite restaurant. Addicted to the duck confit. The preparation changes occasionally to suit the season and is always good. In the summer, there was a raspberry glaze, the fall, a fig glaze and most recently, a port cherry glaze. Very delicious! Also try the frites for a treat with drinks.

Hands down one of the best restaurants on the Cape that is affordable and relaxed. and has no attitude. The food is always good. I highly recommend it. I live in Los Angeles but always make it to Blue when I am in town visiting family.

If you want excellent food quality and presentation paired with consistently horrible service than Bleu is the place for you. Went the first time willingly. Dragged back with friends four more times. Food always excellent, service always sucks. Amazing chef owner who needs to pony up the dough for a good dining room manager and intensive staff training. If you aren't hungry and don't mind asking for things more than once try it.

Had a great experience at Bleu. Food was delicious and service was great. The only reason I didn't give it a 5th star is due to its location. To me it felt commercial. If this place had been in town and a free standing building, it would have felt different to me. Instead it felt like a mall joint. Would definitely go back.

....so disappointed after the renovation...thought that the menu would offer some new exciting choices....same old , same old....service was terrible...waited 10 minutes while the waitress and bartender chatted and ignored us and there were very few people there at this time ....chicken was good as usual but the whipped potato was so bland that i could not eat it....don't the french use herbs and spices? the dessert (profitilores) was topped with chocolate sauce so watery that there was no chocolate taste....for years we have loved this place but somebody needs to pay attention...hope the management reads YELP......

I gave Bleu one star for our waitress, while it took forever to get our drinks she was very, very kind. The second star would be for my food, I loved the skirt steak and my creme brulee. I deducted three stars because of the woman who sat us (the one with the super short blonde hair.) We had our two kids with us, whom I think were very well behaved. My two year old needed a diaper change so I took him to the bathroom and thank God I had a disposable changing pad because they do not have a changing table (yet they have a kids menu?) Well...in walks the blonde woman to clean up...yet she did not empty any of the over filling trash cans. She looks at me chaning my son in the handicap stall and asks if I would like to close the door to the stall. I said no I am almost done. Then in front of another customer says "Can you take the diaper with you?" WHAT?! You want me to take a soiled diaper out into the restaurant?! UNACCEPTABLE. How rude. I was furious. The other customer must have looked at her because she made another comment, "well it is going to stink up the bathroom." Funny, I have been to a ton of restaurants and have never seen a sign to take my sons diapers out. Needless to say I did not walk out of the bathroom with the diaper, I put it in a diaper sac and placed it in the over flowing trash. I should have removed it from the nicely scented sac come to think of it, or perhaps sat back down at our table with it.

Stopped in for a later lunch on Sunday and can't wait to go back for more! My husband had the Belgian waffle and loved it. I had a bite and it was amazing - light and fluffy. I had the Five cheese macaroni with peppers (minus the chorizo). This was also amazing and it surprised me how the peppers added such a great flavor to it. The waitress was super nice and attentive. Not overly attentive either - just right.

This is our favorite spot for a special dinner. Almost all special occasions find us here. The food prepared by chef Frederic is consistently great. Scallops are my favorite. The bistro is a fun place for a cocktail, glass of wine and always fun conversation. Lunch is a bargain, try the Beet Salad, and the outdoor seating is a perfect people-watching and relaxing spot. Service is attentive and well trained..

My wife and I had never been to Bleu but had heard good things. Simple Caesar salad was fresh and tasty. Planked salmon would have been good had it not been overwhelmed by lemon beurre blanc, a pile of lemon confit, and the bed of orange slices. Really, triple citrus? It overpowered the otherwise flavorful fish. My wife's seared scallops in walnut glaze were excellent. Overall, the food was better than average. Server seemed inconvenienced by our being there. What ruined the meal, however, was the wine service. I was intrigued by the by-the-glass program, which offered an unfamiliar Northern Italian white from Piedmonte ($13). But when I asked for a taste to check it out before committing, I was refused. As a partner in a Sonoma winery I've drunk a lot of wine in a lot of restaurants but have never had this experience. And if it happened in a restaurant where my by-the-glass program was in place I'd be supremely angry that a potential sale was lost. Instead, I settled on an unmemorable Chardonnay from Chablis. The dinner itself was memorable only for this unusual wine experience.

Sometimes the food is excellent, sometimes is is just ok. For the prices they charge I want more consistency. I have found their lunches are a lot better than the dinners, don't know why but I have never been disappointed by a lunch at Bleu. Dinners unfortunately have been pretty hit or miss. The food is always, good...but the last time I was there only 2 of the 4 people loved their dish. Mine was pretty bland and forgettable. The service was also a bit bland, we tried to get water refills but never got them until the meal was over. The brie appetizer was good, but small for an appetizer that you think would be something a table shares. The salads were just ok. I guess my overall feeling is that I could have made a better meal at home. I do love the atmosphere in here, but eating there is like playing a scratch ticket. Each part of the meal comes and you think it'll be a winner.

OMG is this insanely {{{GREAT!}}} And in the middle of Mashpee Commons, no less -- not exactly the place you'd expect to find a seriously excellent restaurant, with remarkable food and somewhat reasonable prices (for what it is, after all). Wow. I was so impressed. Went there with a party of four, with my dad -- a fellow foodie. If he loved it I knew it had to be good, but it surpassed all expectations. The dinner (lunch) was incredible, and the dessert, which normally I'd avoid, sensational too. The wine was also wonderful. I would live there if I could, and just eat everything off the menu, one choice at a time. Having grown up on the Cape, there seriously didn't used to be restaurants this good available. This is more like Coolidge Corner, Brookline-level good. In Mashpee. Wow. Awesome...

While the food is okay - the service is awful. The final straw for me was that while trying to get the bartenders attention for another round (shouldn't be too hard sitting at mostly empty bar), I wanted another round for something to do since I'd been waiting a long time for my dessert. Still waiting, a waitress comes behind the bar and makes 2 killer drinks for someone working in the kitchen! Glad at least someone got some decent service...

This usually great place seems to have slipped dramatically. Last night service was poor at best. One diner went for the "hat trick." wrong wine, wrong dinner and to finish it off, IT WAS NOT DECAF.

C'est magnifique! I tried this place for the first time August 2010. I had walked past the restaurant on several occasions and the menu was enticing, When I finally tried it - I couldn't get back there fast enough with everyone who would come out with me. The atmosphere is great - Mashpee Commons is a very nice area. First you get some wonderful artisan bread with both butter and a delicious tapenade - that is just a bonus right there. Wine selection is very good, duck is outstanding. Not many places can cook duck well, Frederic does a fabulous job. The filet mignon is delectable, Ive also had the salmon. Nothing disappoints. The foie gras appetizer is so rich - and the créme brulee too is killer. I do not have one bad word to say about this place - if you are in the area - it is a must!

Delicous food. One of my top 5 restaurants on Cape. They do need help w/ service though. It's not at all up to par w/ the menu.

I have had mixed experiences here. Bleu is a refreshing option for contemporary fine dining on the upper cape, surprisingly located in Mashpee Commons. The decor is very well-done. Not particularly expensive nor even fancy per se, but like someone with very good taste on an Ikea budget, and it works. It's comfortable, quirky, sophisticated, and creative, like fashionable urban spots in Cambridge or the South End. The menu is ambitious, creative, and upscale, and the place deserves kudos for breaking the typical upper-cape model of steak tips and steamers. Decor and menu are both solidly in the "pro" column, as is the wine list. More mixed results with the service. The cape is a weird place for good servers. At these prices, service is not just about accurate order-taking, but about people skills and contributing to the atmosphere and enjoyment. Genuinely professional waitstaff are knowledgeable, personable, unobtrusive without being inattentive, and add to the enjoyment. Clipped, efficient professionalism is an acceptable "style", as is warm enthusiasm. What's not acceptable, at these prices, is the exasperated hash-slinging style of a harried working mom, nor the awkward, untucked student forced to get a job for gas money. This is not an objection to working moms or students waiting tables, but if you're earning fine-dining-caliber tips, you need to put your game face on. When an hour-long dinner for two nabs you a $20+ tip per table, you're making skilled wages. Simply taking orders accurately is expected at Dunkin Donuts. Earning $30+ per hour ought to mean being genuinely good at your job. Restaurant work is hard work, and people who are good at it earn their pay. People who are less good at it tend to still GET their pay, but damage the reputation of the restaurant. Every over-cooked steak, every poorly-paced meal, every empty glass, every table left waiting for a check or for change tend to still get the tip, it just leaves one more customer less likely to come back. Bleu needs to recognize this and to be more careful with whom they hire. The problem with a restaurant like Bleu is that I have come to expect that one visit out of every three will have something wrong with it. Most commonly the problem is mediocre service-- the harried, apologetic server who acts like the place is a packed diner on Sunday morning and who intrudes every ten minutes precisely to ask whether we need anything but who is otherwise nowhere to be seen, or the awkward student-type who doesn't know the wine list and who can only recommend that "everything is real good", who calls 30-year-old women "ma'am", and who takes the order and then comes back ten minutes later to ask how we want the steak cooked... I have never had anything bad, per se, but I have occasionally had a steak or some such that was cooked categorically a temperature too high. A few menu items should be scrapped. The mashed potatoes are bland, dry, and starchy, and have no place in a French fine-dining restaurant. The fish chowder is plain weird: thin, vegetable-y, bland-ish, and halfway to vichyssoise, except with big chunks of leek instead of a smooth, creamy puree. I am not sure that there is any justification for a place on Cape Cod of all places to offer anything other than good thick clam chowder, but when every corner pub has great chowder, you ought to be offering something categorically awesome if you're going to second-guess it. Simply making it more complicated does not justify charging more, and messing with local comfort-food is a dangerous business. If you're not going to follow the instructions, then you better be doing something really awesome, especially if you charge more for freestyling. A more consistent problem has been poorly-paced meals. For example: we order, and then get drinks and first course ten minutes later, and then get the main course plus salads two minutes after that, and then get bread sometime shortly afterwards. And then, while eating, spend five minutes with empty glasses on the table, and wait another 5~10 minutes to be offered dessert or a check, etc. I suspect we might be dealing with the perennial plight of creative restaurants: a visionary chef-owner with the culinary/concept skills to make a great restaurant, but who is lacking slightly in the business-management side of being a great restaurateur. It's one thing to make and serve a great meal for ten people, it's another to be able to cook for 300 night after night, and it's another altogether to create a business that creates a great experience for everyone who walks in the door, every time. The shame is that the business details ought to be relatively easy compared to the culinary and artistic skills. I would eat here a lot more often if they could nail down the basics, and I hope they do, because on a good night, it's a one-of-a-kind experience for the upper cape.

Good, solid French bistro cuisine -- probably the best on the Cape. The escargot is a disaster -- not served in the shell with garlic butter -- instead in some weird salad mess. rillettes -- great classic appetizer Beef daube -- good. Salmon - awesome. Cassoulet -- decent, sometimes great

Je t'aime Bleu! This is a great spot to get some fabulous French food without the French attitude. Our party of six thoroughly enjoyed every morsel and if I didn't live on the other side of the country, this would definable be a go-to spot for me. The appetizers we had were beyond appetizing: oysters on the half shell, poached foie Gras "au torchon" with cranberry pecan bread and sesame seared ahi tuna and, of course, escargots. The foie gras was especially good. The entrees were all just as great. I had the Mahi Mahi special and stole about half of the truffle oil mashed potatoes from my husband (I am such a truffle whore). Others had the lavender roasted rack of lamb which was devoured; the pork loin with red plum chutney port wine sauce - he joined the clean plate club; potato crusted halibut with miso glaze - YUM...and I can't remember the other dishes, but they were all excellent! ...all of this paired with some bottles from their well balanced wine list- by the glass $8-15 wines. The selection of bottles is great covering many regions and varietals ranging from $25-200. Great food, great cocktails, great wine list, great desserts...I can't wait to get back next summer! Chef Feu Feu (yes, that is his name) will not disappoint!

Haven't been here in a while and was disapointed by blandness of cooking. I love their bistro items and ordered their "Shepard's Pie" the lamb was tough and flavorless over equally bland mashed potatoes . Also wine seemed very pricey since our last visit. $14-16 per glass.

Scale 1 = poor, 5 = outstanding CUSTOMER SERVICE: 3. Attentive, friendly. FOOD: 3.5. Very good, not great. But that's an average. My wife loved her halibut carpaccio appetizer and salmon entree. I liked my 'les rillettes' appetizer but they actually give you too much of it -- it somehow cheapens it. And I got some french type of shephard's pie made with lamb. It was just OK. We both liked our sorbet dessert. AMBIANCE: 3. The decor is fine and we sat outside on a nice night which was nice But this place is located at a mall. Granted, it's one of those upscale malls where you walk around outside to all the stores. But it's still at a mall. VALUE: 3. Pricey.

I can't say enough about how much I love this place. We had our wedding reception here. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. Frederic, the chef, cooks the most heavenly food you can imagine and was willing to go off menu and tailor everything to our needs. I couldn't have asked for a better experience or a more delicious reception. Even my French friends were raving.

I only went here for lunch a while ago, but I definitely liked it and want to go back for dinner soon. The prices for lunch were reasonable, and were your typical french fare...smaller portions then you might be used to, but it was all quite good. The only thing I was surprised about was how simple they made the bread and butter they brought out. I was expecting some kind of compound butter, but just normal salted butter was all I got. Quite the small complaint though, since I'm not paying for bread or butter.

I went here for brunch with my fiance one Sunday morning, She got a macaroni and cheese dish, I got the breakfast pizza. The food is amazing!! The staff is friendly and courteous. The pizza is a flat bread style, it was crispy crust with egg and bacon the flavor profile was amazing. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy. It was not an overly expensive experience. I cannot wait till we can go again! Thanks again!

I ate at Bleu for the first time on July 31. We ended up having a late lunch/early dinner and ordered off of the lunch menu. This place came very highly recommended from various family members of mine. The lunch menu was great. I loved how the outdoor seating had the awning for shade. I had the fish chowder as a starter (potatoes and leaks--yum!). My entree was the grilled shrimp. Everything was pretty enough to want to take a photo and tasted amazing and fresh as well.

We had Sunday brunch at Bleu with friends an had a good experience. Nice interior and a small crowd. My wife got the breakfast pizza, and I got the eggs benidict w/spinach and lobster. The bill for the four of us (plus desert) was $100. Well worth the value.

my family and i had an exceptional lunch at bleu today. we all had trouble deciding our choices, everything on the menu sounds so appetizing. i chose the black forest ham, gruyere and mushroom crepe which was delicious - hearty, savory and full of flavor. mom and dad were both thrilled with their choices, which i tried and loved as well. the decor and atmosphere were nice - chic and inviting. having lunch here in the off season is perfect. there is no wait, the staff is very attentive and the lunch time price is right. hopefully i can swindle some nice boy into bringing me here for dinner and drinks someday!

We went for lunch and were very impressed. Everything was delicious and service was excellent. If I had more time on the Cape I would have come back to try dinner there too, the menu looked great. We had the Thai chicken salad and a Croque Monsieur - nice sized servings They even had a kids menu - my son's cheese and pasta was so delicious I ended up eating half of it myself! Nice place to stop for a break while shopping or even worth driving out for the restaurant itself. I will be back next time I"m on the Cape!

Had an amazing meal there. My friend got the filet mignon and said it was the best he had ever had, i got the duck- so good. Drinks are tasty, like the cucumber vodka that they make. Everything looks really good and the staff is friendly.

Bleu is my favorite restaurant on the Cape. The food is always outstanding, the service is attentive but not pushy, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The filet au poivre is my favorite, and it is better than most high-end steakhouses. The menu is outstanding from apps to dessert, and they always have inventive specials. The quality is A+ and you can tell they really care about ingredients and presentation. The prices are competitive with the Boston restaurant scene, and while I realize that a lot of people equate Cape dining with fried clams and lobster rolls, you really do get what you pay for.

It's official. If I need a good meal on cape cod, I am coming to bleu. I took advantage of their prix fixe menu yesterday and.... Oh mon dieu. The menu, available Sunday through wednesday from 5-7, offers three fantastic courses at $25 per meal. My companion got lamb and I couldn't even eat off of his plate because my scallops were so mouthwatering. Makes you forget you're on the cape. Highly recommend. Just wish they would take the little french flags off the tables. We get it. You serve french food.

We came here on a Saturday night and couldn't get a table because it was so busy. We came back the next night and it was totally empty, which was fine because we enjoyed our meal/experience so much. The food was delicious! I had the sea scallops and they were amazing. The food presentation was beautiful, and the service was incredible. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone in the area! I think they also have a pre-fixe menu on the weekdays which includes a 3-course meal for $25... something to really take advantage of!

Bleu is Blah! I took my wife here last week wanting to treat her to a special pre holiday dinner. They have taken out most of the comfy chairs in the bar seating area leaving standard seating only. Our waitress was frazzled some but nice none the less. We ordered shashimi for an appetizer and it tasted refrigerated and lacked flavor. My wife had the root vegetable dish that lacked pinache. I chose the salmon. A very small piece over fennel. The meal left me hungry. For the price of our meal I would rather have gone to the Roadhouse in Hyannis.

We love jazz brunch!I always get the buckwheat crepe, but my family has always been happy with there food. Same prices as a noisy busy breakfast place! But you get to enjoy the music and a cocktail if you like. Also a favorite place to end a night out. We like to sit at the window and have a cocktail and dessert. Good wine list and just a nice place little to unwind.

I'm a native Cape-coddah transplanted to Boston. This may shock you, but may I drop the bomb and say that, in my humble opinion, there is a real lack of good to great restaraunts on Cape Cod. I came across one yesterday and was dying to yelp. YELP! Bleu is a French inspired Bistro. My parents have been making the 40 minute treck out to Mashpee to eat at this place for quite some time. This was my first visit. The location is great- Mashpee Commons is a lovely, calm (albeit slightly expensive) outdoor shopping mall on the Cape. We were there at 2:30 in the afternoon- and even at that odd time on a Saturday, everything was on par. The reasons you should visit, based on my experience: 1) It's right over the bridge- perfect for a stop off as your coming on or off Cape 2) Atmosphere is great- wonderful color combinations, a unique feel of casual but slightly upscale, open dining room floorplan. 3) Waitsaff was very attentive- and dressed in all black (if THAT isn't a selling point!) 4) Homemade nut brittle for you to sample as you're coming or going 5) Resonably priced 6) Nice wine selection 7) Unique spins on traditional French dishes 8) (and probably most important) the food was great! Lavash pizza with chorizo and shrimp, duck confit salad, and the spicy bloody mary were all very much on par. 9) While I didn't partake- their desserts menu is great. Where else, other than Finale, can you have molten chocolate cake and creme brulee on the same dessert plate!? 10) Check it out.

My family and I had dinner at Bleu on Saturday night. We've been there several times before, and I can honestly say that while the food has been quite good, the service has consistently been awful. The waitstaff were rude, inattentive, and slow. After bumping my mother's chair for about the 5th time that evening, one of the waitresses dropped a dirty butter knife very close to her head, and instead of apologizing or stopping to see if she was okay, the waitress simply said "Watch out" in a gruff tone and walked on by to the kitchen. Let me be completely clear that my mother was not moving or anything. She was sitting in the chair at the table where they sat us. It seemed absurd that the waitress would feel justified in telling my mother, a restaurant patron, to "watch out" as though it were her fault! Needless to say, we will not be returning to Bleu.

Great service at lunch. We had the special (mussels in fennel & onion broth), Fig and Brie baguette, Mac and cheese five cheeses and ham crepe. The mussels were very well executed as well as the Mac and cheese. The portions are also pretty big. We were on the way back to Boston so will return next time we are at the cape. Hopefully for dinner.
