The second time at Fresh Catch. First time in March which was excellent, however, went on 6-9-12 and the service both at the bar and restaurant was sub-par for a Saturday night. It took nearly 10 minutes for the bartender to finally ask what we wanted with only 4 people sitting down, and the restaurant service was equally bad. The waitress said she had a party of 10, but why wouldn't a restaurant have an extra person or two on a Saturday night? The fish chowder should be called "potato chowder" because if there was fish in the bowl it had to be threads. The seafood casserole for 22.00 was tasteless which is advertised with "LOBSTER" with one tiny token piece of lobster about 1/4 inch in size. For 22.00 you would think they would give you a real piece instead of something you had to search for in the bowl. Best part of the meal was the cornbread! Overall nothing to write home about this time around and probably will not rush back. Overpriced!

We arrived early Saturday night and found parking in the small lot. The mussels were great but could have used more bread to sop up some of the tasty sauce. The stuffed mushrooms were not hot enough and they had cheese on them that didn't go well with the flavor. The stuffing was too dense and lacked flavor even though there was a lot of seafood in the mix. We are use to ritz cracker stuffing so that's why we didn't care for the flavor. Wife had steamed lobster and they were very nice. I had baked stuffed lobster and wouldn't recommend it. The prices were good, service was friendly and attentive. The beef being served to folks around us looked great. We will go back and give it a second try. Oh, the drinks are inexpensive.

I came here because I was craving lobster, and lobster I got! There are a variety of lobster options on the menu as well as sushi, but since I wanted lobster, I ordered the steamed twin lobsters with rice pilaf and vegetables. The steamed lobsters tasted just as described - It's kind of hard to screw up steamed lobster. However, the sides were far from outstanding.. The restaurant was kept fairly clean and had TV screens on every wall, so it's a great place to hang out and watch the game.

I took my son here for lobster tonight and I won't be back again! This is the second Fresh Catch restaurant (the other one was in North Attleboro) that I have eaten at and both of them have been disappointing. On this occasion, the booth-style bench that my son sat on was sticky, leading him to believe that it hadn't been cleaned in a while and making him question if the kitchen was also dirty. The second insult was that they they charged EXTRA for side dishes for their lobster dinners! C'mon people! How chintzy is that! Also, this is a family style restaurant, but they have high end prices. I didn't try the sushi, so I can't comment on that. The service was adequate, but I've had better. I've been to alot of great family style restaurants, but this wasn't one of them.

First let me say that I am reviewing this by only tasting the non fish items. I do not like fish. I got a gift card here and tried some chicken items and the first item I tried was really bland, but then I tried the blackened ceasar chicken roll and I loved it! it comes with fries and cole slaw, and for a great price! The cole slaw is really good, so I sometimes just go up there and grab some. The staff is very nice and never had an issue with my order.

Tonite's experience at Fresh Catch: Ordered 1/2 dozen cherrystones for appetizer...one was bad. Told the waitress and offered to "replace it". Restaurant Mgmt 101: Tell the manager; manager comes to the table to apologize; comp the app. I have yet to visit a seafood restaurant in New England where the staff is trained how to open clams correctly. I'm available to train folks for a fee. Salad served with dinner was precut processed salad mix, not fresh. Come on people!!! I expect that from McDonalds, not FRESH, I repeat FRESH Catch. The Bleu Cheese dressing was watery. I had the Seafood Shanty, a seafood medley sauteed in a "Herb Chablis Sauce" over linguini. Sorry, it was served with spaghetti. Linguini is flat. It was spaghetti. Herb wine sauce lacked wine flavor and herbs were absent. Lots of seafood though! Fresh Catch needs a reFresh. It has definitely sunk over the years.

I love the deli and the restaurant. Fresh and well priced. The lobster roll is delicious and has lots of big tasty pieces of real lobster unlike the shredded lobster-ish meat in the more expensive, inferior version down the street at Emma's

Very fresh seafood and a bang for your buck (both in terms of food and drinks). The preparations don't wow, but the quality is the best that you'll find in its price range. Ambiance is definately nothing to write home about, but the service is very friendly.

Was stunned by how great this place was. A friend of mine brought me here one day for Sushi and as we pulled up to the place, I almost wanted to punch him in the face; as it looked like a busted sea-shanty in a strip mall. However, I was proven very wrong once I stepped inside. Great ambiance, great service and the food was incredible. I can't recommend it enough!

Strange, but true you do have to walk into a Deli/Fish Market to enter the restaurant. I actually enjoyed the hidden door thing. It made for a grander entrance. Upon entering we found a bustling bar, a busy restaurant, and a full service sushi bar. Once seated we were greeted by a nice wait person who brought our menus and quickly took our drink orders. Drinks came quick (Shipyard blueberry ale, Coke) and were icy cold. The Menus are like small novels, be prepared for an onslaught of choices which can be a bit overwhelming. The Choices seem endless. They have a full range of seafood, sushi, steaks, pastas, and more. I had ten different variations of sushi and raw oysters. All of it pretty damn good.

I can't live without sushi! Have to have some at least once a week. I like the restaurant. Sushi are ok - they are fresh but not fancy! Roll variety is nice. The rest of the food looks good, but I have not tasted it. Large portions. They have specials all the time. Couple times I caught the $5 lobster tail with any meal special - liked it very much. Their drinks are less then ok - I don't spend money on my drinks there anymore. Take out is good quality - you get exactly what you ordered! I'll go there again for sure.

I came here with some family, which included two small children. As far as being family-oriented and having kid-friendly meals, this place is fine. Each kids' meal comes with a hoodsie cup (that's a dixie cup of chocolate and vanilla ice cream). The adult meals leave something to be desired though. I had the New England clam chowder and fried clam strips and a glass of malbec for dinner. This being New England and the name of the restaurant being Fresh Catch, I figured I had a pretty good chance of getting some good seafood. Not so. My chowder was very bland in flavor and not at all tasty. There also wasn't a tremendous amount of clams, potatoes, or anything else other than the milky base. I felt like I was eating mostly roux. My clam strips were underdone and again, were fairly flavorless. My guess is that they were not freshly caught. The cocktail sauce was similarly bland and had no heat. The french fries that came with my meal? The same. Bland and undercooked. And my wine was undrinkable. It tasted as though it had been opened more than 24 hours beforehand and all the body and complexity of flavor was gone. It was getting close to vinegar stage. Yech. If you're looking for a quick place to go with the kiddos, go here. If you're looking for authentic New England seafood, give this one a pass and go somewhere else.

Who would of thought of adding green apple inside of a maki roll?? Sounds gross to some but to be honest it taste quite amazing! It's called the New York Maki and not many sushi restaurants have it, but Fresh Catch does! :) The edamame here is always fresh and taste so good along with their sushi - ALWAYS fresh! My sister always orders their seaweed salad which does taste really good, but I'm not all that into it. Fresh catch not only serves sushi, but they also serve seafood and have a fish market as well. I just prefer to stick with the sushi whenever I go and their prices are really good! I think I need to go there again soon for lunch with the girls! :)

I hate to give bad reviews and after reading all of the others I'm thinking that maybe it was just a bad day at fresh catch. I have never been here but my husbands family lives near by and swear that the market has the best beef and seafood. They had never dined in though. The menu is huge and it is hard to decide but I figured that you can't go wrong with a seafood platter (fried, onion rings, scallops, clams strips, shrimp and fish). My son ordered the fish and chips as well. I was so disappointed. It was saturated in oil and the fish was overfried. My son loves fish and is not a picky eater. He tried one bite and just ate the fries. Honestly some parts were so dry and tough (fish jerky?). The scallops and clam strips were okay but again really greasy. I was okay but my husband got an awful tummy ache (he ate most of it). Fortunately I had purchased a living social so I saved a little bit of money but for a seafood platter, kids fish and chips, two kids sodas, two adults sodas, the bill still came out to about $36 before tip (and FYI kids drinks are the same price as adults even though they are super small). It is definately overpriced for the quality of food. We dined on a Friday so I'm not sure when they get the fish delivered but it didn't taste "fresh". Frank's in Brockton, although a hole in the wall, trumps fresh catch any day.

The experience with Fresh Catch did not start off great. We were supposed to go to their location in Easton, but when I called there to ask about their lobster special and if I could order their lobster tails as a meal, I was told they did not have a cook. Huh? What do you mean you don't have a cook? The female on the phone was young but I figured maybe the cook called in sick? Cold dishes only? I tried to go to their website freshcatchinc.com but the site was down due to bandwidth being exceeded. No help there. I called their location in Mansfield and made reservations. I asked about their lobster special which was twins for $18.99, and I asked if I came with a group of six, would it be alright if I ordered lobster tails as an entree as I knew they sell them as an add on usually. I was told no problem. We get to the restaurant at 6:00 and we're promptly seated. Our waitress took our drink order, left us cornbread, and soon returned with our drinks. She took our order which included a Swordfish entree, two orders of twin lobsters, a fish and chips, and seven lobster tails between my dad and I. Six people, four entrees. (Over $125 in food, with tax and a 20% gratuity they added, came to $166.) The waitress began telling us that we needed to have an entree for each of us to get the lobster tails. I told her I had called and been told I did not have to. She said ok. Soon a man came to our table and told us we needed to buy an entree to get the tails. I told him his staff had told me differently. He insisted, but not in a nice way. I said that I would be reviewing his restaurant on Yelp and other sites and let people know how we were being treated. Belligerently, he said he was the owner, his name is Bill Sarro, that's the way it is and don't threaten him. He did not care that his staff had told me differently. Paraphrasing, he said they are kids, they don't know. When half of our party became heated, I got up to walk to the car and wait for my party to eat. My aunt who is more level headed than I sat me down and told him to add on the least expensive entree he had to to make us "comply." Well, the food arrived. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My lobster tails were awesome. Oh, and so was my grilled cheese sandwich with fries, my three dollar kids meal Bill Sarro in his infinite wisdom added as my entree. Over $3.00, this pompous restaurateur risked alienating us, which he did a good job of, and fueled this review. Next time, if there is one, I'll know to order the children's grilled cheese, and all the lobster tails I want. Bill Sarro, your food is very good, but you sir are a peach.

Picked up lobsters and seafood for my stuffed lobsters for the Pats tonight!!! As always Joe (who runs the butcher shop) is always incredible and bends over to make sure you get the best they have. I would not buy my seafood or steaks anywhere else, Joe's service and the quality of the products are as good as it gets.

We're new in town, and based on the other reviews, I'm thinking maybe we caught them on a bad night (?). We got 2 orders of fish and chips to-go, and frankly we were disappointed. It cost 30 bucks, the fries were not cooked all the way, and the coleslaw/tartar sauce sides were gross. I have to say the battered fish was good, though. Anyways, this place was recommended to us, so we were definitely surprised by the crappiness. (And we only live a couple blocks away, so it's not like one could say that the food sat for too long....) Maybe they deserve another chance, but we won't be going back.

I'm always suspicious of restaurants with menus this diverse, but I took my sons there last night and the food was generally good: Buffalo chicken mac and cheese: boy, they'll combine anything with mac and cheese these days, am I right? But really this was buffalo chicken on top of large penne tubes with cheese, and my son liked it a lot. I tried some and it was pretty good. A. Chicken parm: on a bed of noodles. Not drowned in sauce like it sometimes is, and pretty good flavor. A-. Fish and chips: great texture with a delicate crust and flaky fish, but absolutely flavorless without the tartar sauce (or ketchup for philistines) condiment. So is fried fish a vehicle for sauce or a food in its own right? I prefer the latter. B. Beware that Fresh Catch does live in that annoying restaurant universe (I'm looking at you, Cheesecake Factory) of justifying high prices by serving enormous portions. None of us finished our meals, though we were able to take some of it home (but the fried fish? not). And finally, service was fine, though I'd like to note to the staff that changing the TV channel from the (literal) last two minutes of a huge NCAA upset to the opening period of a Bruins game suggests possible man-card revocation, but I'm not docking ya any points for it...it takes all types to make this lovely world work.

This is not a high end seafood restaurant. It's a family style restaurant, come as you are. We've always had mid-level to good waitresses, too. That's important. Excellent and fresh seafood, including Sushi and meats. Very tasty. Awesome linguini with white clam sauce. We love fried calamari. There's is very good. Sushi was nice. Not high end but creative and fresh sushi. Clam boils and seafood platters are very good. Like being at the shore. They have a very nice seafood and fresh meats retail market in the front. Inside and out the quality is 3 out if 5. If you like a place to take the family from the finicky kids to the seafood lovers it's a great place. Great to me is I've been back several times. Service was good. Prices are very reasonable and portions just right.

My family has been having breakfast there every Sunday after church for months. The food is very good and portions are fine. My complaint is with the management. When we go in on Sunday the tv's always have infomercials like young girls exercising, etc. When we ask to change the channel we are confronted with a very rude manager. It was clearly an imposition for him to change the channel. Whatever happened to "treat customers properly"? I'll go back but hope the tv has something proper on it without having to ask. I hope everyone reading this review, asks for something pleasant on the tv and they will get the message.

Had the sushi regular and spicy yellow-tail roll tonight. The fish was fresh and the rice was OK. Just nothing spectacular. A truly average sushi place. With average portions and prices. I guess right now it's the best in Mansfield. Go there if you live close and don't feel like driving far to get sushi. You can get your sushi fix here ,just don't expect to be wowed. Hyashi is much better and not that far away.

I love Fresh Catch. I work in the Foxboro area, and while i lived in MA visited many seafood places. I do have to say that MA is my favorite seafood state. Fresh Catch is located in a funny strip mall area in Mansfield, and the location does not do anything to "sell" this restaurant. Without fail however as I bring business guest here for dinner - it never fails to impress. I have been coming to this location for several years, and the renovation work carried out (last year - i think) opens out the dinning room space, increasing the seating capacity, reducing the wait time if any and making the environment more pleasant. The one key reason I like bring business guests here, is that there is something on the menu for everyone - Sushi - Seafood - Meat. The seafood is served in a New England style - Lobstah - Quohogs - Crab cakes. This week I tried a Dish I had not had before. "Seafood Shanty" It was a sauteed seafood served with Linguini. It was fabulously delicious and WAS NOT drowned in a heavy sauce, preserving the delicate flavors of the Seafood. It was a large bowl, with a very generous portion of seafood, and inch or two deep and sufficient to complete camouflage the Pasta. The Seafood include Lobstah meat, plump juicy scallops, clams, fish and squid rings. It was the MOST SEAFOODY DISH I have had in years. We had a great server, where the food and drink was served in a timely fashion - The sushi was great as always. One new development, at least in my experience, is that this place now takes American Express, which was always a nuisance if you are business entertaining. In all this restaurant never fails to satisfy me, or anyone that I bring there. Pricing is reasonable service is variable, but the food makes up for any variability in the service. I love this place. It is reminder of why I love New England.

Very good food. The waitress was very personable and nice. A little loud with the one-man reggae singer but the quality of the food was worth it. Prices were awesome too and some of the lowest I have ever seen for this quality of seafood.

Fresh Catch has always been a good place to dine. Unfortunately, my past two dining experiences ended in disappointment. I decided to give it another go.... I went in for a late lunch. My party was seated at an unwashed table (gross). Waitress was a little slow at first but very pleasant. I ordered a cup of lobster bisque and the chicken salad club which was one of their specials of the day. My bisque was served lukewarm it was taken away and nuked. My club was loaded with lettuce and had no tomato.I found the bisque a huge disappointment. I love lobster bisque and this was so bland! I couldn't find one piece of lobster in it. My friend who loves RI clam chowder couldn't get past the oregano and was finished after only three spoonfuls. Another friend ordered the clam roll and while the clams were good, the bun was not toasted. My husband enjoyed his meal, Haddock Nova Scottia. I would suggest to Fresh Catch to remove the painted specials on the windows if they can no longer honor the advertised deal. And neaten the uneven curtain valances it looks sloppy. I really wish my experience was different this time but after three strikes, I'm afraid I'm done.

Oh man! So my friend worked here years ago and she doesn't like seafood but thought I might like to check the place out. The day after my birthday we stopped in on our way from Mohegan sun and I have to say I was more than impressed. When we walked in there were rows of lined up seafood and steaks (whole stuffed lobsters $10) neatly placed and very friendly staff. They had macaroni salad and everything looked fresh. We went threw some doors and there was a huge family style restaurant with full bar and televisions (which made my boy friend happy). There were five of us and we ordered everything from spicy buffalo mac and cheese to a seafood platter and every bite was delicious. it was fresh reasonably priced and enough to share. I will be going back very soon :) Went back.. same great experience. You have to try this place out.

Attached to a seafood shop, this casual restaurant serves generous portions of fish and seafood. We went for clams because I can't get fried clams or cherrystones where I live. Very large portion of fried clams, not greasy. Cherrystones delicious too. Others had fish sandwich, sushi, and steamed lobster. The lobster was only $9! Warm cornbread. We will be returning soon. All the food was very fresh. The only downside: table a little sticky and silverware didn't look great. I wiped both myself.

The Fresh Catch is an excellent example of a traditional New England seafood joint. The food is fresh and the portions are absolutely huge! This place will challenge even the most seasoned Clean Plate Club all-stars. It can be a bit crowded and there's not much in the way of atmosphere but if you're going to a seafood restaurant for the vibe then you're probably in the wrong place. The small local places are always the best for seafood. Another interesting part about the Fresh Catch is their fish and meat market next door. You can be sure that the fish you are buying that evening was most likely swimming in the North Atlantic that morning.

The interior is neat, the portions and specials are great, the fisherman platter or whatever is the size of a small rowboat, its very reasonable, in a descent area, kind of a hole in the wall, Id deffinently go back, I also work at the courtyard down the road and usually reccomend my guests go in that direction especially if they like seafood and want to save money from the more upscale restaurants at Patriots Place!!

I have seen this place many a times on food review shows and just pure research. I am always looking for a good place for fresh seafood seeing there is non where I live. I decided to come here with my friend for dinner one night the other week and have to say my high expectations were accurate! I will talk about the usual decor, taste, prices, location etc in quick, yet detailed text. Price: The prices were very good. For a seafood place that offers both sushi and seafood, has combos, and everything from shrimp to expensive cuts, this place has average to low prices. Our total bill came to about 35/40 dollars and that was with two fish sandwiches with fries, and a sushi platter that had 15 to 20 pieces, and free cornbread. Cant beat the price for two people. Taste: The sushi came fresh and fast. I cant say anything more detailed about the sushi other then it was made right then and there, fresh and had a great taste of just caught fish. The sandwich and fries were great and hot on a soft rye roll. All I know is usually when I get fried piece of fish or something seafood from towns and places that dont do it right or just have it on there menu just to have it, it sucks. This place has it down pat. Location: They have many many locations, more toward southern Mass unfortunately, because there is non 15 min from me. However, I will travel there for the 40 minutes just to come back here. The one we went to was in Mansfield, and very easy to find. Its in a plaza right next to Quans Kitchen. Decor: The inside was nice. Very big, and long to fit alot of people. They had alot of tables, a sushi bar area, and a alcohol bar area. Everything spread out nice to give yourself nice personal space. The inside didnt have much of anything as far as art and such. Just alot TV's for people enjoy sports, and such. It was a comforting inside. Menu: They had alot of choices. Dare to find something that you wont like there. I wont explain this... Just look it up on there website for the full menu to see for yourself. :) Service: It was average. Our waiter came back often to refill our drinks, check on us and gave us a great attitude. Not much to say other then, she was great and got a good tip. All in all, this place for me being around an area that has junk seafood places... I loved this place, and defiantly lives up to its name. This place is unique in its own way. Cornbread, sushi, a market attached to it with fresh seafood, meats, etc, and much more offered there.. How much better can it get? I will be coming back and please check there website, tv spots and go there yourself!! Thank You as always!

Ate there yesterday. Service started put very bad, took 10 minutes just to get a water. I think it was because the waitress didn't know I was in her section or something. The oysters were served very cold and fresh tasting, however they were very small. I had the seafood pomadero. It was a huge portion and loaded with seafood. The calamari was over cooked and the dish itself lacked flavor. Oysters were $1.75 each and the seafood was $20. Stopped by for lunch today. The new England clam chowder was excellent, very think and had piles of clams in it. Chowder is 5 stars.

Had lunch lobster bisque was 6 dollars a cup chowder 5 dollars, lobster roll... Not even served on a toasted bun server spilled food on me apologized but ran away fast I just didn't feel like it was worth what I paid. It was good but not great.

I went there last night with my buddy/ motorcycle riding partner/ motorcycle mechanic/ friend. It seemed very crowded, but, we were promptly seated being only a party of two. Our server, Kristin, was knowledgable, polite, punctual and had a good sense of humor. She always seemed like she was nearby, but not so close like a helicopter parent. We started out with the fried calamari. It tasted really good, but the calamari was tough. Which was too bad. Because it did taste so good. The idea of eating calamari flavored rubber bands doesn't thrill me. My buddy has the Shrimp Scampi with lobster. He said that it was the best thing that he has eaten in a long, long time. I had the Seafood Alfredo (No relation to the Red Sox terrible closing pitcher) It was mostly wonderful. The sea scallops in it would almost melt in your mouth. The shrimp was just the right texture and full of flavor. BUT, like before, the calamari in it was flavorful, but tough. Overall, everything was excellent. If they can figure out how to cook calamari, it would be perfect. I would definitely recommend it, and I will go there again.

I'm rethinking my initial review. Again, I'd give Fresh Catch a 4.5 were that possible, but failing that I believe they deserve to be rounded up rather than down. The sushi is always good. The fish is always good. Fish is obviously what they specialize in and they do it well. I have never had bad fish here. The one flaw as I see it is that sides here are pretty basic and bland. This isn't even a huge detractor as one could argue that in being basic they don't clash with the more flavorful fish. That may be true, but it'd be nice to see something more interesting than an ordinary baked potato and mixed vegetables once in a while. I'll end on a positive note by mentioning that writing this has made me hungry.

Although I haven't eaten in the sit-down restaurant, I have ordered take-out from the restaurant, Sushi Bar, and also purchased from the fresh fish market. Without fail the food is superb: always high quality, fresh, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend purchasing fish or sushi from them, either in the restaurant, as take-out, or to prepare at home. They also have another location in Attleboro where I have eaten and ordered take out, and not only was the sushi and food amazing, but they also have green tea ice cream (something very difficult to find outside of NYC).

I've never eaten lunch or dinner in the restaurant, but I've been to the deli/butcher shop and I've always found great steaks and seafood items to take home and cook. Also, the new breakfast is actually quite good! I plan to go back for dinner soon, but I'm giving this place 4 stars just for the selection of fresh foods you can buy to take home, the quality is excellent and the prices are quite fair!

After a good experience for dinner, I returned the following Saturday for lunch and waited forever to be seated while waiters and other staff were either talking to each other or walking about looking for something to do. I was never seated and I took a seat myself. The wait staff eventually noticed I was sitting at a table, but I wasn't given a menu. After more than five minutes I finally asked for a menu and a staff person repeated "you want a menu?" I replied "yes." Someone came by a few minutes later with a menu, and after I recounted my story she said a supervisor should have seated me. Better training of the staff is required.

On business trip, everyone in hotel recommends this place. Pull up, in a strip mall, nothing fancy looking. Then you get inside and looks almost like a diner/cafeteria, no ambiance at all!!! Small bar with TV playing baseball game. Couple of guys rolling sushi in middle. Then comes the menus, WOW, tons of fresh fish dishes, specials, and the prices, amazingly LOW. Looking around at others food, made my mouth water. Had steamers, amazing, others I was with had calimari, great, steamed shrimp for 40 cents a piece, excellent. 7 peple at my table, everyone had different meals, everyone was raving over the quality and the quantity. I had gourmet fried fish platter, could not finish(lobster, scallops, shrimps, cod, etc...) Loud and crowded, but if great seafood is what you crave this is the place!! I would travel to go here again.

I've been here a couple of times and enjoyed it. Wait staff was attentive and pretty good sushi. My only complaint is the space. I felt a bit cramped in there, like the tables are a tad bit too close together. Other than that, I'd go back.

I will say the staff and dinning room are nice ....but then I got a peek into the kitchen O M G ,going to have to rename The Dirtiest Catch. Time to get out the soap and water and give this place a good cleaning ......

I have eaten in the restaurant a couple times, but frequent the fish and meat market more often. The restaurant occasionally runs some really good priced twin lobster dinners. I don't eat sushi, but heard it is good for the area. The Bar area is small and I have gotten some warm beer on tap here, Yuck. Whiskey pour is just OK.

Fantastic local seafood in Eastern Mass! Delicious steamed lobster tails, grilled scallop salad with vegetables. Yum. Great service...we loved our waitress. The only problem is that there are tvs on every wall...just not my favorite. My cousin had the fried seafood platter and I was a massive amount of food. Delicious!

We live ~5 hours away and when we visit the area it's the first place we eat every time! I don't think we've ever had anything bad here. This past trip I discovered the honey mustard baked sea scallops. A day later I went back for more. Fried clams, scallops, & calamari all delicious. A family favorite is the baked seafood casserole. I will say having to walk through the attached fish store is shocking. The smell is overpowering. The place starts to fill up around 6pm on a Friday night. There's always a line when we leave. We are a larger group of people, as additional family usually joins us, and are easily able to be accommodated.

I have not eaten in the dining room yet, but if the quality is as good as the retail store, it must be awesome. Fresh Catch is my go-to place for fresh seafood in Mansfield.

LOML and I were on our way through town and figured it's time for our favorite scallop spicy maki and scallop salad before we headed out for the evening. Terrific service, cold beer and a decent wine list topped off by the best corn bread in Mansfield make dinner an above average event. Heading back soon for that sushi.

I have been to Fresh Catch a few times now for breakfast. First, let me say that the food is GREAT! I would highly recommend it! I've had the veggie omelet most of the time. The veggies are in large chunks and there's definitely NO skimping on them or the cheese. The home fries are pretty good, the pancakes too. I keep going back because the food for breakfast is so good. I have recommended it numerous people and I will keep recommending it. I think it's a great secret right now, that they serve breakfast, because we always sit right down. There are lots of tables. It's always clean. The portions are huge and we're always bringing something home. Overall the food has been really, really good. The waitresses are polite. But, that said, it seems like there are a few things I wish the staff would remedy. First, it seems like the service is a bit slow. Most recently I've been there a couple times and both times and got the same waitress. When she brought over our tea, she brought no silverware, no spoons. We asked for spoons and got one dirty spoon, one clean spoon, and one napkin for two people. We had to ask for milk. And I noticed other people got tea in a teapot while we got it in mugs, no teapot. Not a big deal, just a bit inconsistent. When she brought over the tea and juice, we were ready to order, but she had no notebook. This has happened to us twice with her now and then she did it to the table next to us too. Not sure why she hasn't picked up on that yet. After we got our food, we still had to ask for silverware and napkins for all of us. And we weren't the only ones who had to do the same. I saw many customers grabbing it off other tables and they had different waitresses from us. My husband noticed the waitress we had seemed to be doing a lot of "standing around" while a few other waitresses/servers were busting their humps! But, I noticed even at those tables, the service was a bit slow. I'm not sure if it's the kitchen that makes it slow, or the waitresses, lack of staff, I dunno. But, it kind of stinks because the food is SO good! We'll go again, but we are a bit disappointed on these few points. I hope Fresh Catch is reading this and can fix these small issues! The waitress I'm referring to seems nice enough and I don't want anyone out of a job, but I think there needs to be better training or something at this restaurant, at least for breakfast, silverware is a basic in waitressing, right? The bread they use for toast is REALLY good! But, both times I've been there most recently, I was so disappointed because it was a bit blackened and therefore not as good. I had it months ago and this wasn't an issue. My husband ordered hash once and it was AMAZING. But, then ordered it another time and it was cold and seemed entirely different than the last time (different chef? I dunno). The flat screen TVs are great, but not when they are on two different infomercials at the same time, the entire time you're eating. Maybe put on news, ESPN or just turn them off altogether? I hope this review won't keep anyone from trying breakfast. These are small, issues that can be remedied and I'm telling you the food is GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!!! I'll keep going there to enjoy the great food, just hope for a different waitress, unburned toast, and no infomercials. Hope you're listening Fresh Catch! :-)

This is about the market. The prices are just a tad high in the market but WOW, what quality. Well worth it. For you non-fish eaters, try the beef they have. This is quality stuff. I thought I was eating prime. Had some NY strips tonight and put them on the grill. REALLY GOOD! Man, what have I been missing. For you fish eaters, the products are great. Try the market and grill some great food.

My favorite restaurant! Excellent seafood, different specials every week, great sushi. Their teriaki-ginger tuna with wasabi butter is to die for. It's a tad more expensive than your average restaurant (especially if you get sushi) but it's well worth it. We're regulars. The restaurant is attached to a deli, and you have to walk through said deli to get to the restaurant, so don't think you're in the wrong place if you walk in and see cases of fish and cold cuts. It's tiny compared to most restaurants, but very popular. There's often a long wait, especially on weekends, but it's so worth it. Call ahead to trim a 45-minute wait down to five. They just recently added a waiting area where you can order a drink while waiting for a table, but it's tiny like the restaurant and people often wait in the deli. No sushi on Sundays, but on any other day of the week you can sit at the sushi bar, eat at a table, or even order sushi to go! They don't deliver, but you can call up and order whatever you want from their takeout or sushi menus, then pick it up.

I choose Fresh Catch often. I love their sushi and they have really interesting specials every day. They are great with their baked scallops, and anything with lobster. It is loud in there, as others have pointed out. I like to sit at the bar and have an appetizer and a glass of wine. Lucky to have this locally.

This is another time I want to give 4 and a half stars. It's my no means a gourmet place but I will say they have DAMN GOOD FOOD! The menu is HUGE! Meat lovers vegetarians, and of course lots and lots of good fresh seafood. I have never gotten anything bad, I go a lot. This place looks a little ghetto from the outside, it's in a strip mall, but you walk into the market and then to your right and walk into a classy joint! They have a cool sushi bar for fresh sushi, and then an ample seating area for all those families who need some good grub, or for the ladies that lunch, or for whomever. It's a fantastic place for everyone! My in-laws can be difficult out at a restaurant but the staff takes it in stride and are more patient than I could ever be. They get HUGE props for dealing with it and with a big smile on their face too! Oh, this place is also super cheap for how much good quality and great tasting food you get.

The attached deli confused me when I first went. The actual restaurant is nice, sort of a sportsbar (big flatscreen TV on the wall) + sushi bar + typical diner setup. Good seafood with fresh catches of local white fish. I didn't try the sushi.

The Jeff S review here nailed it. The sushi is excellent, the fish is the best around, but I don't love dining here. The dining room is very crowded and the service is hit or miss.

I went to the "Catch" for LUNCH.. had the tuna sandwich... delicious and of course it was very Fresh.... probably caught that day... and only $8.00 ..the cole slaw was very good .. also had the fish chowder . .. and very good DINNER.. on Monday night and wanted Calimari with red sauce with spag.... and they made it special... it was the best I have had.. and order that particular dish quite a bit... nice fresh calimari... and the sauce was fra di ablo ... and .. you can tell the dish is GOOD.. when you are at the end and there is more Calimari than spag.. in your dish... and the price was great.. for $12. with a salad... sat at the bar and the bartender ... was very nice.. .had the green tea ice cream... DINNER tonight... yup went there 3 times so far this week while in foxboro on business.. and had the Clam with spag and mussels... and it was the best... not the typical factory cut up machine clams.. but hand cut ... and fresh... clams... it was delicious.. and again.. you can tell it was good as there was more clams than spag at the end.. and YES I ate those left over clams... fabulous.. and this night I had the ginger ice cream... over all the 3 times.. it was excellent every time... and very busy .. each time I was there... .. Just had to take this time and share this in this review... after all .. when it is good. you want to tell someone.... Bon Appetit` Joe

Good seafood + sushi (made to order). You can sit at the sushi bar and watch the guys making everything. Prices are higher than average, but not too high. Good selection of beer.

came to the area on business, was thrilled to find out that I could get fried clams (whole belly!), clam chowda and lobster rolls! Both times, the orders were 'to-go'. first night, they were out of fried clams, so I went with steamers, chowda and a naked lobster roll. YUM! everything was DELICIOUS! second night, I got my fried clams and a couple of clam cakes...again, PERFECT! if only they had one of these in atlanta *sigh* will surely be back when i'm in the area again.

If you have the chance, I highly recommend this great seafood eating experience, that's tucked away in a strip mall and can be easily passed by. I've been here whenever I'm in the area, and I'm a New Yorker. Was staying in Boston for the Yankees Red Sox game and still just HAD to take the 45 minute ride here. There is nothing that isn't perfect, the fried clam oyster combo is fantastic as is the "naked" lobster roll. My only complaint, I wish it was closer! Great place, very friendly people and the recent renovation looks awesome as well! Highly recommend!

Alaskan Seafood Soup was delicious. Light cream and the seafood was fresh and the soup wasn't salty, seasoned light cream broth. I would definitely order that again. My entree which was the Lobster Cobb Salad was just ok. The lobster was ver fresh however the two large tomatoes weren't ripe and some of the lettuce was if poor quality. The price was good -$16, since it was a fair amount of lobster. My mom ordered the Baked Haddock with shrimp salsa, baked potato and steam cauliflower and squash. It was horrible. Fish over cooked to the point of crumbling and the potato was dried up. We had to send the entire meal back and she ended up with a bowl of the Alaskan Seafood soup. Lesson learned, only order the items with the stars which are the house specials.

Really solid hole-in-the wall seafood restaurant. This is not fancy by any means, but they serve a wide range of fresh fish, crustaceans and bivalves and even have a decent sushi section to compliment it. The sushi chef is good, and has special items such as hamachi Kama if you ask. Fresh ginger and decent wasabi are nice, and they carry some good salmon and hamachi, in particular.

We were in town for our sons hockey tournament and choose this place based on reviews and it was also close by. We had a decent meal. Pretty average really. Didn't have much zip to it. We were expected alittle more taste I guess. And it wasn't like it was cheap.

Totally, totally disappointing and a waste of my hard earned money. This place used to have high quality fish...so fresh it didn't even smell "fishy". Not the case anymore. I was all excited to be getting my 2 pounds of lobster meat for my husband and Dad, but the staff behind the deli/fish cases looked so annoyed to have to wait on me....they burst my bubble of excitement. Imagine the worker behind the case sold me less than 2 pounds so he wouldn't have to fill another container!!! Bet the owner would love to hear that. It actually worked out okay because what I did buy was horrible. It smelled funny so I rinsed it with cold water to take some of the odor away. The lobster meat wasn't spoiled or rotten...it just wasn't FRESH. (After all...it is called "Fresh Catch") I apologized to my Dad and husband that it was not as good as I had hoped for. Two summers ago I stopped here about every other weekend and happily spent well over $1000 on just lobster (it was that good!!) I spent a few more dollars on many of the other yummy things they make and sell in their store. Seems like they spent a lot of money on renovations to the restaurant and are paying for it by charging high prices for lower quality product, I will never ever go back to this fish market. Captain Marden's in Wellesley will be getting all of my business. And all the workers there are very nice. So why 2 stars......Fresh Catch's Cornbread and Blueberry pie were still delicious.....but Captain Marden's has those too!

I knew I wanted to stop into Fresh Catch the first time I drove by and saw the sign. It said something like "Twin Lobster Special $18", and as simple as that phrase is, it caught my attention! My fella has always liked a little lobster for dinner on his birthday, so I stopped by Fresh Catch for the first time on my way home a few weeks ago. I headed to the counter and perused the offerings. PEI Mussels? Check. Thick slabs of marbled rib eye? Check. Three sizes of lobster at low market prices, live and fresh and out of sight? Check, check, check. I brought home some lobsters in a paper bag, and ended up being a little creeped out by them... luckily, I had some help! I called in some man hands to get the squirmy little monsters out of the bag and in the water. Twelve minutes later, voila! Instagram worthy birthday dinner. Weekend before last, we were running errands in our neighborhood when lunchtime came, so we stopped into Fresh Catch for lunch. We had two wonderful bowls of soup- NE Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque, respectively, followed by a BIG salad for me, and an ahi tuna steak sandwich for him. Everything we ordered was good, but man, did I feel like a sucker when I saw the 2 1/2 lb stuffed lobster which was that day's special being carted out for another patron! Lesson learned: Come back often, and always ask what the special is!

Went to the Fresh Catch tonight for dinner based on its high Yelp rating for Oysters, and it didn't disappoint. As my 7-year-old said mid-meal: "Let's come here again. It's good and it's fast." It's true. Both the food and the service were excellent! Started with 4 Wellfleet Oysters and 4 Duxbury oysters, all served with brine in shell on a bed of ice. All large and excellent, although I'm going to say I liked the Duxbury ones the best-less fishy, more salty. We (family of 4) split two clam cakes, which came piping hot. We didn't even need the tartar sauce since they were sweet and delicious on their own. Flaky on the outside, soft inside. For the main course I had the very large lobster salad roll on toasted roll (brioche?). Tons of lobster and just the right amount of "salad." Delicious and filling. For those who like their lobster rolls more plain, they do have a naked lobster roll. Wife had the summer special, pan seared scallops over mushroom risotto. She raved about it! The kids had their usual: chicken fingers off the children's menu. Both were quietly and happily eating w/o whining, a sure sign they loved their meals! Final note about the service. We made a reservation on Open Table and our table was ready when we arrived (and the place was definitely full). I wish I could remember our waitress's name since she was fantastic. No frills, just attentive, friendly service. Not once did we have to wonder where she was, nor did we feel rushed. Nice to see after a rather slow experience at the Barking Crab in Boston a week earlier. Overall, we will definitely be back. There is lot more on the menu we want to try. I highly recommend this restaurant for those looking for a casual atmosphere with friendly service and fresh food. And on the way out, be sure to grab some "Happy Pickles" from the deli (especially the "angry" ones). They're great, as well!

I liked this place. This is the place you go to get lobster without all the linen tablecloth fanfare and high prices at other places. Had a 3.5 lb lobster with clams and corn. Enjoyable.

Found the place using Yelp and glad I stopped in. Eat at the bar with a friendly and helpful bar tender. Had whole belly claims which are my New England favorite then had the baked seafood with a Caesar salad, they didn't charge for the salad because I did not have the potatoes or veggies. Place serves everything from lobster to sushi, great find. Very casual setting

We had a great first visit! All three of us ordered their signature Mai Tais. Excellent. Then the entrees were also superb: baked scallops, seared tuna on pasta with a sweet soy sauce, and lobster in a mushroom cream sauce (light) on pasta. Very different flavors, all cooked to perfection. Our tuna eater did regret not asking for it done rare, though. Our server was busy, but still managed to time her arrivals perfectly without hovering or feeling absent. She got a full 20% tip. All told, three drinks and entrees were $100 before tip. We will be back!

Very good, casual seafood restaurant. The service was great and the white clam chowder, calamari and seafood cioppino were fantastic. The raw bar has good variety of oysters and steamed clams & mussels. Know the seafood is fresh considering the heavy foot traffic to the attached seafood market.

The food is very good. There is no ambiance but the place is pretty clean. Oysters are fresh and good selection. Scallops, lobster, fish, clams and muscles are fresh and not overcooked. Good service.

So glad I found this place on Yelp! Was going to be in the area and wanted some seafood. Who would have thought Mansfield would be home to such a great place to feast on steamers and lobsters? I ordered just that. The combo. The lobster was 1 1/4. The claws were more mushy than firm, which I don't like, but it is totally to be expected on a smaller lobster. The tail was nice and sweet. I am so happy that, FINALLY, I have ate steamers that weren't full of sand this year. They were very clean and also sweet. Also the perfect size for me. More medium with a few larger ones and smaller ones. I was happy to see that, while this is not picnic table kind of place, it is more casual. That helped me not feel so self conscious while eating with my hands. (The only way to eat this dish IMO) My waitress was attentive. When I am in the area I will be stopping in for seconds.

Great food and prices. The Lobster Bloody Mary was excellent and came with a giant piece of lobster tail. Well worth $11. We can also vouch for the lobster roll and lobster stuffed clam. The setting could be a bit nicer. Not an amazing location or ambience, but the food and prices were great! Service was great too!

I wanted real good lobster for dinner last night and after a disappointing lunch on Cape Cod, decided on Fresh Catch. We've eaten here before and we were never disappointed. To start the Lobster Bloody Mary intrigued me, 1/2 a lobster tail comes with it . . . excellent start. My Wife's Alaskan Seafood Chowder was a lot tastier than my equivalent chowder I had on the Cape for lunch! The twin lobster special was to perfection, both of us ordered this and every claw came out intact, which proves that it was done just right. Excellent meal and our waitress, Sarah was very attentive, friendly and helpful. This is now our "go to" place when we want real good lobster or seafood. Only thing that I saw that needs improvement is a management issue: Many of the tables aren't level and could use leg adjustment so they don't teeter-totter. Twice while we were there people were seated at a table and changed tables due to this problem. I noticed under one of our table legs was a folded napkin. Tables usually have screw in/out levelers and with an hour of maintenance all the tables should be fine.

I'm confused. The restaurants food is very good. However, everything I buy from the store side that is kitchen ready, is absolutely horrible, I mean terrible. Why? I think I've tried everything. It sucks! So, I just by their meat and fish to bring it home to cook myself. Bill, if you served what's in the store side to your restaurant patrons, you would be out of business. My question is why isn't it the other way? Why isn't your restaurant making your store food???????

The menu was huge and the options were vast from sandwiches to stir fry to sushi. Service was fantastic and the food was out very quickly, the restaurant was also not too full. My grandmother got the clam strips: HUGE portion size. Great bang for your buck. Came with side of thick steak fries and coleslaw along with tartar sauce. She enjoyed the crunch and the fact that the clams were not very oily. I was disappointed with my lobster and shrimp lo mien. The seafood was overcooked and very rubbery. The noodles were undercooked and the ginger sauce tasted like it came from a bottle, nothing spectacular. I would suggest anyone eating here stick to the main seafood dishes. Overall pleasant experience.

Had a craving for seafood and we found the place on yelp as i was driving to cape cod on a late night (we came in a hour before closing). Started with the NE clam chowder and that hit the spot. I knew this meal was going to be good. The lobster avocado appetizer was very flavorful. Perfect butterly avocado with plenty of lobster topping. Had the twin lobster meal and both were sweet and succulent.

Was in Fresh Catch recently for a lunch bite with my wife & a friend visiting us. Service was great. Our server was very attentive. My wife had NE Clams Chowder, our freind had a seafood platter & I had a clam plate. My meal was fine, not as good as places that offer fried clams in north shore Mass, New Hampshire seacoast or Maine, but was a far cry from the crappie fried seafood they sell in Rhode Island. I would revisit Fresh Catch again.

So good. Everytime I'm visiting the area I stop in for dinner and have never been disappointed. My only recommendation for the owner is the get the take out workers trained up on the menu. The last two times I had some trouble getting them to understand what it listed on the online menu for the restaurant.

I started with the lobster bloody Mary which was phenomenal. The servers did make a few mistakes with our food orders but the baked stuffed lobster entree made all of that become easily forgotten about. The thing was bigger than me! For an extremely low price too. In Providence the price for similar quality but lesser portions would at least be doubled. I'll definitely be back.

It's a hit or miss. I've gone in and come out very happy. At the same time I've also been very disappointed. Once paid 18 bucks for 3 shrimp. Ridiculous. Very expensive. And the portions are either great or minuscule. The third star is for the wait staff. The service is absolutely incredible.

I give this 3 stars because I like buying fish and steak tips from the deli side of the store. They offer a great variety of items to take home and cook yourself. About a year ago I would have given this place 4-5 stars but after my recent visit and the one prior I would have to say the restaurant side of this place is not worth spending your time or money at. One of the best thing was they gave you free basket of corn bread when you sat down for dinner. Now they removed that nice offering and allow you to get a basic basket of bread for 99 cents. Thanks but no thanks. Now moving into the dinner. Last time we went I got the Tuna dinner and unfortunately it was over cooked and not very tasty. I had it twice before that time and it was great. During this visit my wife got the baked haddock and I got the shrimp scampi. Her was cooked ok but had Zero flavor. My dinner had no flavor and was basically pasta, shrimp, and over cooked spinach in a soup. Thankfully the shrimp was ok but the dinner as a whole sucked. Our waitress was very nice and efficient so I want to be sure to not blame this experience on her. I had asked her if ownership had changed since everything is so different and not in a good way and her response was funny. She said "No, but a lot of people have asked me that". If that is not a sign of shitty change I don't know what is. To make This review short and sweet. Go there to buy food to cook at home but I don't recommend the restaurant anymore.

My husband and I love this restaurant and always take out of towners here. We always have excellent food and great service. We had Elise this last time and she was superb and extremely friendly. We were laughing the whole night with her. The food is great and the portions are extremely large. We has the cioppino which was well seasoned with a spicy kick to it stuffed with seafood. The fried platter was enormous and we had a lot leftover for the three of us. The only problem we found was the homemade lemonade was not worth the 4$ with no refills. Skip that next time. But overall, we will be coming back often for such a great experience.

If you are in the mood for some seafood, but not in the mood to spend big bucks, then this is the place for you. The restaurant is simple, nothing too fancy, and jeans and hats are totally welcome. You will start off with a bread basket of corn bread, delightful! The waitstaff is very attentive to drink refills (soft drink refills are free), but on busy nights the overall service is mediocre. I'd suggest starting with a bowl of their excellent Clam Chowder (white,) or one of their spicy stuffies. The spicy one is loads better than the regular one, and not too spicy, just right. A good size stuffie for $2.95 I ordered the 1lb of steamed clams, which was only $8. The size of the clams were the biggest I've seen in my recent restaurants, but the broth was a little too salty for my taste. I would just eat them without redipping them in the broth. I also added a lobster tail for $6. The tail was a little small, but for $6, you cant beat it! The sushi bar looked beautiful, and the sushi boats were artfully done. Great value, good food, mediocre service. Cheap night out, fun, and fresh seafood.

Nearly exploded having my fill of lovely New England seafood. Had nearly the whole gamut including steamers, little necks, stuffies (quahogs), clams casino, and a mega lobster roll. I can't believe I ate the whole thing. Also, you can add a lobster tail to any entree/sandwich for $6! Service was fast and curteous.

Everyone seems to like this place. It's in a little shopping plaza. Very hard to find a place to park. It's fine if you like fried, overpriced foods. For 6 of us it was $270. That's $45 per person. We each had two beers. My scallops had some funky tasting bread crumbs on it and the portion was small. The scallops were very fresh, though. The french fries tasted like they were cooked with fish in the fryer with them. We had a coupon and tried to use it on a Friday night, but they denied it saying it was a holiday (Good Friday). Plus the waitress forgot to give us our $10 change. It just wasn't that great, honestly. But a lot of people like this place...sure beats the heck outta me why!

DELICIOUS! I always look to local places to eat when I travel. I tried the Tiaramisu martini, royal crown maki and lobster Mac n cheese. I am soooo full!! My fav was the maki roll. Lobster, cream cheese, tomato. Great!

This review is for the market only. To be fair, I've been spoiled with seafood straight off of the boat. So my bar is set pretty high, but that doesn't mean I am ok with less than what I know seafood should look/taste like. The striped bass on display looked like it had been left out in the sun for a couple days and then thrown on some ice. It was dried up, discolored, and probably smelled terrible. I can't believe that it was for sale. We bought some sea scallops and they tasted like they had been around for a week or so. Once you have fresh scallops the size of small apples, you really can't tolerate undersized scallops that are far from "fresh". Like I said, I am comparing this with perfection, but isn't that what we all want as customers and what these markets should strive to provide us? And, the price was actually higher at Fresh Catch than I have seen at the docks.

I have lived in this area for over 20 years. Fresh Catch has definitely changed over the years and NOT for the better. Their food is greasy and tasteless and way too overpriced. We used to enjoy their seafood, but now we won't even go there. They offer complimentary corn bread that is dry and crumbly with hard butter. The service is slow and the dining area is right next to the bar, so the sports shows are blaring from every direction. We used to love sitting at the quiet sushi bar with dim lights, now it's just dark and loud. The fries are so oily that they sag and you can't taste any flavor. I have tried it three times in the last year or so and it just stays bad. Parking is tricky and I would not recommend this to anyone looking for good seafood. The locals seem to like it, but not this local. Sorry....

Let me tell you something about myself. I love lobster. I also love avocado. I consider it my own personal taste of heaven when you put them together, and that is exactly what Fresh Catch did with their lobster stuffed avocado. This appetizer is served in a dish made for it with two cupped sides for each half of avocado, which were overflowing with large pieces of lobster -- including my favorite claw meat. It was actually lobster salad, but you would never be able to tell. I wasn't particularly hungry, so after the delish appetizer, I ordered the New York Maki roll: salmon with avocado (there it is again!) and green apple. Yes Krys nailed it on the head with his review. It was fresh, crisp, refreshing and delicious. And this was only the tip of the iceberg my friends as it looked like they had over 50 standard and creative maki rolls to choose from. The regular menu is equally as large, and if I had more of an appetite, I would have had a difficult time choosing between all of the appealing seafood dishes. There are also some steak and chicken options for those who do not eat seafood, but those that live in the ocean are clearly the stars on these tables. The prices were what you would expect from a suburban seafood restaurant -- not too expensive, but not cheap either. The quality and portion size is definitely there to justify the price. Service was excellent. I entered and was greeted promptly by the hostess, whom I informed i was waiting for someone. She asked if I would like to be seated, and when I refused, she offered a seat at the bar while I waited. I chose to stand and was kindly reminded a couple of times that I could sit at the bar if I wished. Standing at the front of the house gave me the view of the prompt and friendly service right from the start. Despite a flood of large parties, the team of hostesses handled each with grace and hospitality -- even guiding stray members of some parties to their tables. Our waitress was equally friendly and efficient. I was impressed at how professional the service was. Finally, the restaurant was clean, neat and welcoming. Dim lighting, colorful walls and various wall paintings made this a place where you wanted to stay a while. P.S. Don't be put off by the crowded parking lot, strip mall location or fish shop entrance. It is all a guise. Fresh Catch is the real deal.

Always good food. One of the few restaurants where I look forward to a salad. The seared scallop salad is always excellent. The sushi is great. The drinks are good. I take lots of family members here when they visit. Be prepared to wait on a Saturday night.... Not long.... But a bit. Worth it.

This is the place to go for lobster deals but be ready for the wait and subsequent slow service. I had the twin for 15.99 and it was very good. The calamari could have been better since it basically tasted like canola oil. The striped bass special for $24.00 was not worth it. Way overpriced for a small piece of undercooked fish with bland tasting steamed veggies. I even mentioned this to the waitress and she said "gee that's too bad." No discount, no manager apologizing. Probably too busy to worry about new customers. Sodas are $2.95. Cmon, charging that much for refills that most folks will only get one of? So, I wont be back. I only came because we were in the area and i can get much value back in the Boston area. Live and learn.

We found this on Yelp and navigated to it by GPS...not being from the area. Lobster roll good. Lobster good, fries and slaw good....the clams were good but needed further rinsing but when the waitress was informed, they took it off the bill without being asked. I would definitely go back and recommend the reader try it. For anyone with a kitchen they have a large beautifully laid out seafood market. Staff is friendly and courteous...and the restrooms spotless.

  • Jeff D.

Good chowder but served warm. Staff is too bust horsing around towards the end of their shift that you can't get anybody's attention. Ordered tuna rare. Came completely raw like sushi. Had them make it medium rare. It came out well done. This is a restaurant that was created out of a seafood market.....so the restaurant is run by inexperienced people. My favorite.....the manager that was impossible to recognize called a staff meeting of 25 (including the kitchen staff) while they still had tables and a full bar. I was in the business for 20 plus years. You have staff meetings either before or after hours. Great job, Stupid.

Oh my gosh, from the appearance of this place I was totally leery, which made me even more impressed once I tasted the food. Wow! We ordered unagi (freshwater eel sushi), fried calamari, and a ceasar salad. The sushi was seared perfectly; the calamari was lightly battered, and the salad was fresh. Fresh Catch HAS to be experienced to understand why it's gotten 4 stars from more than 50 people!

I live in San Francisco and have been here three times and will continue to do so whenever I am in New England. The seafood here is so fresh and plentiful. As it should be, being a fish market. The portions are huge and you can easily get two sometimes three meals out of a dish. Seafood saute is tops.

Fresh Catch is awesome!! I found this place on Yelp en route to my hotel and saw all the great reviews, so I knew I had to come by. Driving up, I was a little intimated by the parking lot craziness but once I saw the flashy window drawings advertising the food, I was hooked. I'm all about good quality fresh seafood, not as big on the "ambiance" especially when on business travel. Since I'm not from New England (proud West-Coaster here!l), I've made it a priority to eat as much lobster as humanly possible during this trip to make up for my homesickness. Lobster straight up, lobster roll, lobster bisque, if there was lobster ice cream I'd probably try it! Immediately the sign on the door catches my eye - twin lobsters dinner for $15.99. SERIOUSLY! I've arrived in heaven, and it smells like a seafood restaurant. I was told at the front that it would be a 30 minute wait, but watching all the hungry diners devouring their lobster, I couldn't wait and decided to try my luck at the bar. Fortunately, as I walked over, a couple was leaving, so I had a seat! Joe, the bartender was fantastic and took care of me right away. I could tell that tonight was extremely busy and he was working non-stop, but made sure to check in on me. The twin lobsters were perfect -super fresh, no butter needed. The other bar patrons were friendly and taught me how to strategically peel the lobster tail, as I was pathetically picking away at it (I like how they make you work for your food!) I also got two Wellfleet oysters and steamed veggies on the side - the veggies, though simply prepared, were only $2 extra and the perfect complement. Apparently they have 50cent shrimp nights on Wednesdays too!! Bill, the owner came by the bar and I chatted him up. They got in a shipment of extremely rare & exotic orange lobsters, and I got to sneak a peek at them and hold one out back! At the deli side, I bought some lobster cake, crab cake and stuffed shrimp to make later for a midnight snack... MMMMM!! Of course I checked in and posted pics on Facebook and a few minutes later, a friend from back home shared this link: abcnews.go.com/blogs/tec… So in all, this was a magical experience with good food and great people. Now I can see why the locals love this place...I might be tempted to fly 3,000 miles and drive another hour from BOS just to come back!

Fresh caught lobster, the family who owns this shop does the catching and cooking themselves, couldn't get better for your barebones lobster shop.

Fish was fresh. Had fish reuben which was lightly fried; fish was flaky and tasty. My companion had a lobster roll which was good too. Homey, local feel; fresh fish market next door with a really good selection. Service was fine during lunch hour.

On the road and you Yelpers were right on the money. Great local place, dinner was outstanding. Little neck steamers, done perfect with amazing broth. Wished for some bread to soak it up! Had baked haddock with potato and veggies. Nice piece of fish, done perfect. Good service, friendly crowd. Recommended and will return when I'm in the area.

Kind of a "hole in the wall" place - but once you know about you - you will be back !! Excellent service and sea food and sushi. You will drive by this place as it is in a small plaza, but it is worth your time to go in. Excellent prices and selection. I will be back next time I am in the area.

When I moved to Mansfield over 2 years ago, this was the first restaurant I went to. Maybe I am being a little biased since I grew up in Hawaii and my mom owns a restaurant herself, but I definitely felt the lack of freshness in seafood. I had a platter of steamed seafood and the seafood tastes like it was defrosted for some reason. The service left a bad taste, maybe because I went there on a weekend, but the wait was long, the food took forever, and the order came out wrong (I still ate it). I did eventually go back and try it again, this time for sushi it was delicious but again service lacked. It took again almost 30 minutes to get our sushi. Did I stop going? No, because I throw sushi parties and I did go there to buy fish to make the sushi...here's the deal...the sushi chef gets upset alot, if you do not call ahead at least a few days then you are not going to get sushi grade fish. Can I add that the sushi grade fish is WAY over priced? 30 bucks a pound for salmon...what are you kidding me? Eel for 30 bucks a pound...are you serious? I had no choice since my friends were coming over shortly but I would definitely never buy sushi grade fish from there again. I'll take the hour drive to Burlington to go to H-Mart thanks.

This is a review of the Fresh Catch market, which is alongside and affiliated with the restaurant. It was Friday evening and several sets of plans had fallen through. I had been psyched for wings (Hooter's/Wendell's plans fall through), Chinese (sorry Joe, something suddenly came up), and then the final person bailed on me and Mexican food (I'll make it to El Mariachi someday!). Should I just go home and eat those pork chops that I've been putting off for a few days now? Hell no, this is a good chance to grab dinner (to go) at Fresh Catch. I've lived nearby for years and have heard good things about Fresh Catch, though this was my first time trying the restaurant or the market. The market is small but packed with fresh and prepared seafood along one wall, a meat counter with some great looking cuts at the back and another wall with deli selections. They have their own soups, chowders and bisque available, hot or cold. The stuffed lobsters and quahogs looked spectacular! Prices were in line with local supermarkets, but the quality appeared much higher. I'll keep this place in mind when shopping for fish and meats. I ordered a fried seafood plate. I'm always hesitant to order fried food to go, as it doesn't travel well, but since I'm only about five miles away I took the chance. Glad I did, it was very good! It came with; haddock, shrimp, scallops, whole clams, clam strips, onion rings, fries, slaw and tarter sauce. The breading on the fish and rings held up well on the ride home, the fries being the only casualty, limp and lifeless. Everything was fresh and delicious. The whole clams were sweet and tender, even the clam strips weren't the usual elastic bands. Even as hungry as I was there was plenty for two meals. The strange exception was the cole slaw, which was served in the tiny plastic cup that the tarter sauce came in. There was literally one tablespoon of slaw served with this generous serving of fish!? I just signed up for their 'what's on sale this week' email and look forward to eating my way through both their market's offerings and the restaurant's menu!

This is a breakfast review. I have been there several weekdays. It is not crowded, and they have lots of specials. You get plenty of food with pleasant service. It is also very quiet. I would give them another star if they had Wi-Fi. Someday I will try some seafood at lunch.

  • Erica W.

We went for breakfast on Sunday. The service was excellent and the portions were huge. The prices were in line with other places we have been. All in all a very nice experience.

Fish was fresh. Had fish reuben which was lightly fried; fish was flaky and tasty. My companion had a lobster roll which was good too. Homey, local feel; fresh fish market next door with a really good selection. Service was fine during lunch hour.

I live in San Francisco and have been here three times and will continue to do so whenever I am in New England. The seafood here is so fresh and plentiful. As it should be, being a fish market. The portions are huge and you can easily get two sometimes three meals out of a dish. Seafood saute is tops.

Service has been unimpressive lately. They've pushed out the dining room and opened the kitchen. But otherwise it's same old game around here.

DINNER tonight... yup went there 3 times so far this week while in foxboro on business.. and had the Clam with spag and mussels... and it was the best... not the typical factory cut up machine clams.. but hand cut ... and fresh... clams... it was delicious.. and again.. you can tell it was good as there was more clams than spag at the end.. and YES I ate those left over clams... fabulous.. and this night I had the ginger ice cream... over all the 3 times.. it was excellent every time... and very busy .. each time I was there... .. Highly recommend!

came to the area on business, was thrilled to find out that I could get fried clams (whole belly!), clam chowda and lobster rolls!

Enjoyable.
