took my two nephews out for burgers. They are teenagers and can eat a ton, so i thought this would be great. Sent the pulled pork back because it was super dried out. The waitress even laughed a bit when I showed her. My nephews wolfed down 'fatty melts' that they really enjoyed. My asian kale salad was pretty good. now for the fun part. Get the buffalo shake with bourbon. delicious delicious delicious

Hands down my vote for best gourmet burger spot in Western MA. High quality meat, cooked to perfection. It's a bit shocking, but they actually cook their burgers to desired temp. Great example of true craft. Plenty of additional options on their menu if you aren't in the mood for a burger. Not many more things more decadent than candied bacon lollipops. Must try. Talented bartenders with some pretty creative offerings. Booze and especially beers are overpriced, but I suppose that goes with the location, and the West Hartford influence.

One of my favorite lunch spots... Great salads.. :) casual and classy! Look forward to my next meal there.

I wasn't really looking for a new dining experience on the way home after a half-day at Six Flags, but I'm really glad we came here. The wing appetizer was juicy and delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised that they had Saranac Draft Root Beer as well. But hands-down the best food I've had all week (if not month or year) was the Fatty Burger. Not for the faint of heart, it is a delicious 8 oz. burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches. With bacon. The truffle spuds were a perfectly-matched side as well, and melt in your mouth. I didn't even mean to come here today, but I'm glad I did. I don't write many Yelp reviews, but this place deserves all 5 stars. Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. I'll be back!

Our servers were great, we had two waitresses. They were both friendly and attentive. The food on the other hand was very disappointing. The pastrami sandwich was horrible. It looked delicious, don't get me wrong. But as soon as I picked it up the whole entire bottom bun was soaked and soggy. Tried cutting the sandwich but that didn't help. The pastrami was very thick and lacking flavor.. not that great for a restaurant specializing in beef. I took the sandwich home and threw it away. The eggplant fries, which I've gotten before, were so unbelievably salty I only ate four of them. Between the salty sticks and my soggy pastrami sponge, I was quite disappointed.

Ãœber chic burger places are the trend these days- and Max Burger is right up there with the rest. The place was pretty busy when we got there ( Friday night) but they were able to seat us before we even finished our first drink at the bar. I had a pineapple cocktail, which neither I nor anyone else at the table liked. It tasted just like canned pineapple juice and alcohol were put in a glass together. The others had beer and wine- my husband loved the clownshoes beer and a friend who had the Pinot grigot said it paired quite well with the meal. The veggie quinoa- sunflower burger and cream of tomato soup were pretty good. The vegetarian chili was probably a 6/10. We were recommended the fried pickles and don't regret it for a bit- they made for great bar food. Our server was great! We discussed our matching apple watches :) . He was friendly, didn't rush us at all and didn't make us wait too long for anything. That being said all the servers, bartenders , hostesses were all very friendly. With a better cocktail selection, this could become our burger place to go .

Tim is hands on and runs a great restaurant. Service was good and here are my recommendations: pulled pork egg rolls, bacon lollipops, eggplant fries, pretzel buns on any burger, kale salad and brownie sundae. A must visit restaurant if in the area.

Love this place. It feels very home-y yet you get a nice chain-like variety of food. The service is always pleasant and the burgers are amazing!! Definitely get the truffle fries too! I'm addicted to them! It's a great place to bring anyone to!

Holy tenderness! This was one of the most perfectly cooked and flavorful piece of beef I ever had. I had time to spare while waiting for a wedding two miles away so I googled this. The service was great, Shaun could have been the most courteous and helpful bartender I've had the pleasure to meet. The sliders were cooked to order. Shaun asked "how you want it cooked?" As rare as you can get, I said... "You got it!" It takes skill to cook a smaller amount of beef to order, but as you can see by my photos... They were not small and they did it to perfection. Let's not mention the special sauce, hand cut fries, local IPA, and a smooth whiskey. I'll be able to sit through this Mass now because of this delightful experience. Thank you Max Burger! I will definitely make a pit stop next time in western MA. And believe me... Because I like food, and food tastes good!

This is no easy one to get from me but these guys nailed it real good. If you wish to get a drink don't worry because the bars' got the spirits & beers to get you wet (if you know what I mean). Burgers & sides are real good & it won't do much difference if you get a standard meal or a burger because it's seriously worth it all & the apps are very good as well. The milkshakes eclipse that of my other burger spot I gave high marks of. & got even that you'd not expect much of with other spots. Oh if the day is good you can also get a spot out on the patio too.

The quinoa vegetarian burger and the special lentil soup we had were on point! I still crave that burger sometimes.... hearty and filling with tons of flavor.

Nice place to get a burger. Although its a burger place I also recommend the meatloaf sandwich it is very good. Also the truffle spuds are amazing. The one things I didn't like was the kobe burger as I've had them at a much higher price point and this cheaper one didn't compare. Soup is also usually good. Its always busy but the food is good and the variety of beer available is pretty good.

I took my crew out for dinner engineers, team leaders, planners, etc.. We had an amazing night, the atmosphere was great, food was phenomenal BTW, the Buffalo Shrimp were to die for. Incredible selection of micro brews. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area and if your not its worth the drive. I'll definitely be back.

Ok ok ok. I gave this place another try. The burger was slightly better - I had the Blackjack burger and it was actually kind of tasty. The combination of the sweet onions with the spicy burger was kind of tasty. The fries were okay - nothing special. I tried a few eggplant fries and those were mostly just batter (the eggplant inside had basically liquified in the cooking process). This place is close enough to my house that I'd come back again, but I still think there are better burgers around.

We went there for lunch today. They had a new appetizer on their menu that was sweet and sour fried pickles. They were delicious. I had the inside out burger and it was also delciious, as were the fries that it came with. My wife loved her fries as well. She liked the portabello burger that she got but said she would try something different next time, and insisted that there would be a next time because there were many other things on the menu that she wanted to try. The only negative that we had was that the waitress although not terrible, was not the best we have ever had.

We've been here a bunch of times and have never been disappointed. From the apps, to the burgers, to the entrees we would recommend everything! The service is always great as well. Definitely give it a try.

This is a great restaurant! We wanted to try out the various ones in the town since we have family coming into town next week and we just moved here, so we weren't sure where to take them. Glad we came here! Our son is always craving fries and a shake . There was a huge crowd of people when we walked in. I was a little hesitant, because in Hawaii, a crowd like that means a wait of at least 30 min. This was at 6pm, FYI. But that wasn't the case at all. The host told me it would be five to ten minutes. Whoa! And it actually was. As you walk-in, you see the beautiful decor. Like my fiancé says, it looks like San Diego (where I'm from) meets Montana (where he from). It has a tasteful rustic chic to it. Our waitress was amazing fast and attentive. I got the Saturday special (BBQ burger) with eggplant fries, my fiancé got the Kobe Classic burger and our son got edamame, chicken fingers and a strawberry shake. They were all magnificent. Our burgers were cook to perfection (medium rare)! Totally happy. We devoured our food and ordered dessert. Let me tell you, the flour less chocolate is to die for! My fiancé got the lime and ginger sorbet. The beer list is also very extensive and very good. They also have seasonal cocktails as well as some classics. There is a membership card that will earn you points for ever dollar spent, which is perfect for people who want Max tone a frequent staple for their tummies. Can't wait to bring our family here. Nom nom!!!

After an initially bad experience a few years ago my girlfriend, her mom and I have made Max Burger a Tuesday night tradition. The food is outstanding, the service is top shelf and we even have a personal waitress, Karisa who takes great care of us. The manager Tim is always there with a funny story and he makes us all feel like family. Max Burger is hands down the best restaurant in the area and I'm proud to call myself a regular.

It's one of our normal places to go when we're in town visiting my mother in law. The food is always exceptional, but this weekend we had the most excellent level of service on Saturday. They're always friendly, but I feel that the staff does try to go out of their way to make the dining experience excellent, even if it's just a "burger joint".

Took a trip recently to Longmeadow. Visited Max Burger on 7/18 and this was the funnest place we visited in the area and was open past 10pm. They have a pretty great beer list, the food we tried (fried pickles and tuna salsa) was very good and the prices were all reasonable. What stood out was the service. We sat at the bar and the lady bartender that night was straight up AWESOME! She was very friendly, tended to us very quickly, and definitely cared alot about our experience. These days, that's very hard to find and we appreciate the great dining experience she provided. Will definitely return next time I'm in town.

Never been to the area and yelped this spot. It did not disappoint. The Meatloaf sandwich is so light and fluffy and amazing. I would also recommend the eggplant fries as they don't disappoint either. I stopped her because I was early for a meeting so I couldn't try all the beers but the selection was huge. Their draft root beer was good too! Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. All around great place.

I had a lovely dinner with my husband there this evening. I had the burger salad, it was a little confusing to order but I did get what I had wanted. It was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. My husband had the fatty burger. It looked fantastic and the bite I had was delicious! It's 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with a burger in the middle, how can you go wrong with that!?! The music was a little loud for my liking but not worth complaining about. I would definitely go back the next time I have a hankering for a burger!

The kobe classic was not available, which was a let down. However, the max burger classic is on point. Burger is nice and juicy and the bacon is not over cooked. Their regular burger is so well made, and the flavor is not drowned out by sauces. The candied bacon lollipop is also very good. I was not a fan of the fatty melt, only for the fact that the bread was too soaked and fell apart. The french fries are alright if you are a fan of the soft style. I would have preferred crispy fries, but these were not bad quality, jut not my style

Best burgers in the area. You pay only slightly more than other burger places in the area but get a FAR superior burger. Love the dipping sauce that comes with the fries too. Rotating selection of beers on tap always keeps things interesting so there is something new to try every time you go.

Great burger place. Frequently gets very crowded on the weekends, but it is worth it. Good beer selection and friendly staff. The daily specials are very good. The staff does a very good job of accommodating special requests and changes. Bartenders know what they're doing and are attentive. It is a little expensive for a burger joint, but it is Longmeadow, so it's to be expected. I agree with the other reviewers, the Candied Bacon Lollipops are amazing.

I like the atmosphere but I'm not impressed with the food. I'd rather eat the baconator at wendy's than their burgers. I've tried the burger, buffalo chicken wrap, bacon lollipops, and a few other things. Nothing was good enough that I would want to reorder it in the future. Good place if I was just looking for drinks but I wouldn't go there for the food.

After two unsuccessful attempts at eating here because of long wait times or showing up too early before service, I finally made it in on the third try. We walked in and were asked by the somewhat snobby hostess if we wanted to sit in the bar or dining area, we said dining, but I wish we sat on the bar side. It has a very pretentious feel to the place. Like shit, I'm in Longmeadow, should I being wearing Gap clothes or a fine suit? Wearing shorts, a T-shirt, and a camouflage Patriots hat I felt all the upper class seniors staring at me wondering if I just came down from the mountains for my big night out. The dining area is very cramped (unless you're in a booth) with the maximum number of tables you could fit in that area being utilized. Our server came over and we ordered the pulled pork spring rolls and drinks. A different server brought out the spring rolls, which by the way were very good. Another different confused server brought out our main dishes asking us who had what. I ordered eggplant fries and got asparagus. I quickly noted the error and the server brought out the eggplant fries. It's not very professional using three different people for the same table. I ordered the inside out burger. It was cooked perfectly, thick, and wasn't dry. It was a much better burger than Plan B or Luxe in my opinion. The eggplant fries were pretty much tasteless. They had a salted crispy exterior, but were mushy inside. Would not get those again. The onion rings were decent, but were way too oily. Overall, service was friendly, but wasn't the best. However, the burger was outstanding. Beer list was above average. Would go back, but won't go out of my way. Three stars. Stopped in again for dinner and had about a 20 minute wait. That was fine. The host guy was real cool. The automated texting system really worked when our table was ready. The food was awesome this time around. Loved the sweet potato fries and the warm apple cake dessert. Our server was nice and started off good, but was hard to find towards the end. They still have the same issue with multiple people bringing out your food. Because the food was great this time and the service better I'm going to have to go with four stars.

This Max's Burger sure beats the West Hartford Max's Burger's buns! And the parking is a lot more simple and cheaper than WeHa. Downtown Longmeadow has a special place in my heart because I lived there for four years when I was a student at Bay Path College. I always loved visiting the shops on Bliss Road. On Wednesday, I met one of my best friends for a celebratory lunch for her new job as a special education teacher in the Springfield public schools. : ) I'm so thankful that I went on a Wednesday because their special burger of the day was Sgt. Peppercorn; a pepper burger patty with blue cheese fondue, buffalo sauce, sautéed mushrooms, and bacon (which I omitted). Best burger I've had in a long time. With the wise recommendation from the waiter, I had the truffle spuds as my side; fried potato balls drizzled with truffle oil, scallions, and parmesan cheese; my tastebuds said f^*king AWESOME...lol! I'm also thankful that I went at noon on a Wednesday; this place fills up FAST!!! Blissful meals on Bliss Road!

I think it's safe to say that you know you're going to get delicious food when dining at any Max's location, and it seems to be an accurate expectation. This visit was no exception. After a long work day I couldn't wait to have a cocktail, so I almost immediately ordered a drink called "the painkiller," and it was to die for. Probably one of the best cocktails I've ever had. For my meal I had the miss daisy burger (I'm a sucker for anything with brie). My burger was cooked to perfection, packed with flavor, and the eggplant fries on the side were a lovely addition to my main course. I will continue to dine here, however, I think I'll stick to takeout. The restaurant was very overcrowded with tables, leaving us hardly any room to get into our chairs. Our waitress wasn't great either. She was in no way the worst out there, but she could use some work on her attentiveness to her tables and her knowledge of the menu. She was friendly enough I suppose, but her lackluster personality made her difficult to find enjoyable.

Was visiting my bestie who lives in Longmeadow and this is apparently the place to be. It sticks out like a sore thumb in this area, but in the best way possible. It is the gastropub feel that I have come to love and adore here in California. They have a great craft beer selection, burger combinations to make your mouth salivate while just reading the menu and extremely friendly service. The burger was a tad over cooked, but the flavors were amazing. There are fresh house made dips for your fries. Oh did I mention house made pickles?! (ask for extra) Be prepared for a bit of a wait, but they do call ahead seating and you can always post up at the bar to enjoy some cocktails or beers while you wait.

This is an awesome restaurant. The management and staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The food is always consistent and the kitchen is more than happy to do a special order. It is always busy but you can sit at the bar and eat if you can find a seat.

This is the 2nd time I've been here today, and sitting at the bar ain't to bad whilst (yes, swallow that whilst - with your gin, it burns) watching the rangers Being the namesake, the burgers are indeed delish. I've had both the daisy and whatever comes with guac that I'm eating now. Order a side of the BBQ sauce for that perfect fit. #ORDERTHEEGGPLANTFRIES.

We found this place on Yelp while passing by on the highway. It was with the 4 mile detour on I91! At 1pm on a Wednesday, the place was busy with a lunch crowd, a good sign for a restaurant. We sat on the covered outdoor patio, complete with ceiling fans. Our sandwiches were perfect, just the way they were described, and priced about right. The service was great! Friendly well trained waitstaff make a difference! I would come here again, and you will not be disappointed.

Boutique burger restaurants are the rage. This is hands down the best. I have eaten here several times and find it to be consistent across the board. Service is always attentive, educated, and friendly to a high standard. The burgers are seasoned perfectly. I recommend ordering medium rare here whether you normally do so, or even if you are typically a medium person. I've noticed that the medium burgers are a little over for my taste. My wife and I usually share a burger and the scallop salad which is amazing. They use a house cured bacon that is immaculate. Frankly, you can't go wrong with any of the burgers, order to what toppings you are in the mood for. As for sides, my favorites are either the truffle spuds (picture a mashed potato tater tot filled with the umami of truffle) and eggplant fries (particularly when they are first served and have the texture of pure meltiness. They also have an amazing beer selection and cocktail menu. My favorites are the Six Point Resin (beer IPA), Moscow Mule, and Maker's Bourbon shake. Highly recommended. Because of the combination of quality service, food and drink this is absolutely my go to for both date night and when we have guests in town.

There are three higher end burger joints that just recently opened in Springfield, MA... this is the only place you should spend $15 on a burger at. Everything is done well. Drinks, sides, ambiance, service- you name it. I didn't say the burgers, but they are not done well but done superbly. I've been here roughly 10+ x's and cannot say I have had one bad burger. Cannot say the same for the other spots. You can really tell that management cares about the experience there guests have. Please if you are a meat eater, give it a shot, but prepared to wait in line if it's a prime night.

Love this place. Excellent food. Excellent service. Gourmet burgers that are worth every dollar. If you are looking for a upscale place with a superb menu; come here. I live out of town but when I visit family I'm always sure to stop in. They also have excellent seasonal cocktails.

Unbelievably rude non-service from tall blondish female bartender on Sat. Feb. 28th. We were given a menu and not asked for a drink order. Then we were ignored as she served two other couples that arrived after us. She swiped an empty beer glass without asking if I'd like another. I have no idea why we deserved to be treated like this. The two other bartenders saved the day for us and provided the high level of service we have come to expect and enjoy at the Max restaurant group. Spoke to Tim the GM on the way out re: service. Also, 4.5 stars for food.

In a Western Mass world of largely phone-it-in restaurants, Max Burger is an oasis in Longmeadow. You'll visit (a first time) for the food (and possibly beer and spirits selection) but come again for their customer orientation. Don't see something on the menu you like? If so, they'll customize. If you're unhappy, say something. Very responsive group. I probably eat here more than any other restaurant in the area. Here are some times navigating the menu. #1 Veggie chili is an excellent inexpensive lunch. Get the cup. It comes with tortilla chips. #2 Max Classic (5 oz.) is more than satisfying. It comes with a side. Upgrade and get asparagus, eggplant fries or truffle spuds. You will not be disappointed. #3 Non-burgers like Pastrami Nightmare and the Choke-n-chicken are great. #4 For a pre-dinner snack, get a Teenie Weenie, mini-hotdog. There's three options, but my favorite is the mini chili dog. #5 Say hello to Tim (the general manager) and Mike (the bar manager). They constantly tweak the menu and offerings to align with the customer. I feel like I'm in a big city when I'm here. Kids love this place. The portions are large and the presentation kid-friendly. Max-and-Cheese is a favorite of my son's. A step above most kids meals. Lastly, there's WiFi here, making this a great place for a business.

We have an amazing amount of burger places in Springfield-Hartford nowadays. A We went to this restaurant when it opened and I did enjoy it. I liked how it had plenty of parking and was in the suburbs of Springfield. The place had a high-class pub atmosphere and a wide array of different burgers and sandwiches for everyone's palate. I really enjoyed the service there since our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful with the menu. The food was not bad and the drinks menu seemed quite large. The one main problem with the place is its acoustics and medium size. It makes it very hard to talk to who you are with due to the loud noise of the restaurant. But, overall, I enjoyed this place.

My husband and I always come to Max Burger on Tuesdays for the Bacon Onion Smash Burger. OMG. . This is the best burger EVER!!!! You have to come in on Tuesday to try it. You will not be disappointed! The staff is always friendly and courteous. Good martinis and good draught beer selection.

**Better presentation/better tasting then Plan B or Luxe This is just a classy place; it's too bad it's in a random strip mall in Longmeadow and not in Noho or a place with somewhat of a scene afterwards. Beer list was pretty out there when I went with 6 others a couple weeks ago; lots of weird one I'd never heard of and didn't feel like trying; stuck with BBC Steel Rail. Burgers are actually cooked correctly and taste great, fries were piping hot. Sure, it's $13 for a burger but it's a boutique burger place; you're better off spending the $$ here versus Plan B where errors abound. Better beer list at Plan B though. Local Burger still takes the prize for best in all of WMass but this is a solid 2nd.

Since I was in the Springfield area, and wanted a delicious burger, I stopped at Max Burger Longmeadow. It's in a really great location, with plenty of off street parking. When we arrived at 7:30 on a Friday night, the parking lot was packed and there was a hearty crowd in the waiting area. Host said there was a 45 minute wait, and we gave our name and cell #. He was very courteous, and gave accurate updates on the wait time. He also asked if we preferred a booth or table. We got a drink at the bar, and before the first round was finished, we had our table. There is tons of seating here, as well as an outdoor patio that was quite substantial. Now about the food: Awesome It certainly meets or exceeds the quality of service and food I have had at the other Max locations. Burgers were cooked perfectly: med-rare, juicy with just enough pink. Fresh pickles were delicious. House made BBQ sauce is uh-mazing. The mashed potatoes are also absolutely delicious. I usually order these instead of fries, because they are THAT good. This place is sure to last, and is worth the drive if you want a great meal.

Plan A is Max Burger, Plan B, don't bother Love the burgers and all the options here. Max Burger is simply good burgers, plenty of beer options and a good service. Yes, it can get a little expensive, but if you want cheap, go to McD's or grill your own. I'll get the one negative (and saw this on some other posts as well): Avoid the bacon lollipops. I finally tried this app and regretted it. I love me some bacon, and this had a lot of descriptive potential (menu). But it failed to deliver. Now onto the positive: Kobe burger, excellent, Sgt Peppercorn (wednesday's), excellent. Even the simple Max Burger, excellent. But I love the "Slow Burn" burger you can only get on Sunday's. A real treat. Oh, and the PB&J shake is fantastic! Stick with the burgers and beer and you won't go wrong. Highly recommend.

I LOVE Max restaurants and this one is no exception! When I dream of a delicious, perfectly cooked Medium burger, I go to Max Burger. I have never had a bad burger here. The fries and milkshakes are delicious as well, but the star of the show is the burger. Check out the "specials" each day to see what kinds of burgers are featured.

$3.00 for a coke, $2.50 for a lime, Really?! The Max brand is great, but can't help wondering if this wasn't located in Longmeadow would the prices really be so outrageous. Your not paying for customer service since nobody was at the door and the bartender was too busy talking to her regulars to help you at all. Second and last visit here.

So gone are the days of meeting up with your old Bay Path friends and going to the Longmeadow Shoppes for some Friendly's chicken quesadillas and a post-meal iced chai from Starbucks. Times have changed. Friendly's isn't even there any more. *sigh* Sure, Enfield is just down the road and there are the old options of Ruby Tuesday's or The Olive Garden, but...did a bunch of us BPC Alums come all the way to Longmeadow just to eat at these mediocre options? Oh HELL no. Max Burger is one of the newest (at least, to me) additions to Longmeadow Shoppes. This place...is HUGE. The small patio eating area outside leads one to expect a relatively small space inside. No way! Huge ceilings, multiple spacious rooms, and sexy cows (...yes, sexy...) painted on the upper walls, well, welcome to Max Burger. Lucky us, we called 45 minutes before arrival and were able to snag a table for twelve. Upon seating, we were given large menus; I'm pretty sure the alcoholic beverages outnumbered actual food dishes! I did enjoy how the beer list went from lightest to darkest. (Clever.) My friends and I ordered an array of cocktails (with the Caribbean Crush and it's sea foam green hue proving to be popular), mixed drinks, and I got to try a Stella Artois Cidre; didn't know Stella was in the hard cider game, but they've got a good handle on it! The menu options were all appetizing, making choosing a meal a daunting task. I finally, and wisely, settled upon the Alfred: an 8 ounce patty with Comtè cheese, caramelized onions, and rosemary aioli on an artisan roll. Holy Dear Sweet Lord Baby Jesus. Now THAT is how a hamburger should be made. There was a perfect burger / ingredient to bun ratio. Read: You don't finish your bun before your burger is gone. (Isn't that the WORST?) The cheese and sauce were perfect, and the burger was tender in it's medium-rare state. I went with the eggplant fries, which were delicious...until the dipping sauce was gone and the fries at the bottom had absorbed too much grease. They were good, but you've gotta get 'em while their still hot. If Max Burger had been around when I was still an undergrad at BPC, I'd be in trouble. Top notch.

New challenge with wife, visiting all the burger bars in the area. Been to some others but will start with Max Burger. Visited on a Tuesday around 4, seated quickly and prompt service from waitress. Great selection of drought beers and house made Sangria was excellent according to the wife. We started with the pulled pork spring roll, small portion for price but no complaints from us. Fried perfectly, tasted great but the accompanying slaw dip added nothing for flavor. Blackjack Burger cooked perfect temperature and additions added flavor to the excellent meat. Wife had the frisky chicken which paired well with the jalapeño spread slaw and mango salsa. Overall impressed with atmosphere and service. With so many options in area, hard to justify travel into Longmeadow but worth It in the end.

Great Burgers! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The Kobe Beef hot dog is fantastic. I've eaten there several times and haven't any problems.

Wicked noisy, but great burgers! Buffalo shrimp & sliders appetizers are delicious. Full bar w/ outdoor seating as well. Waitstaff nice and attentive.

Terrific, Bartley's in Cambridge is what I considered the best burgers, well know I have to change my mind, Max Burger takes the cake on burgers. Generous portions, the choices are amazing, cooked top perfection. There are different types of fries. I loved the atmosphere, has the feel of a fancy restaurant without the fancy prices. Jess was our waitress, she was awesome, on the ball, pleasant, if you can request her that you will have fantastic service. I don't live out in western mass anymore but I am so glad I found this jewel. My only criticism is that although The dessert were incredibly delicious, I wish there was more of a choice. Will go again.

Really yummy! We had the pulled pork spring roll to start, really crisp, fresh, not too heavy with a great dipping sauce. I could eat just the sauce! I had the miss daisy, on a really light bread with really lovely Brie. The bacon was perfect and my burger was juicy and tender and exactly as ordered. Got the regular fries, which were standard higher end burger fries. My friend ordered the sliders and eggplant fries. The fries were good, but definitely something you don't take home. I had a cocktail that was just too strong for me, but the manager fixed that immediately. Great service. Friendly staff, very prompt. I finished my meal with the mint brownie bar which was just stupid good. It was defiantly a shared dessert. Can't wait to return.

OK, I gave the place 4 stars, but I'd give the location 1 star. I wish I could enjoy the best burgers on the planet without having to enter the dreaded Longmeadow Shops parking lot. After turning off Bliss, it's like I'm in an over-privileged version of Frogger: look out for that Escalade barreling directly toward you...oh no, teenage girl in fur and Uggs standing in the middle of the flow of traffic...crap, that Maserati is taking up four spots (how is that even possible). Once inside and safe, these guys almost always make you feel welcome, particularly if the manager is around. The staff can be AMAZING, but not all of the staff is created equal. An elderly member of my party once vomited up an entire meal in the dining room (nothing to do with the Max food). The servers were awesome and actually cleaned it up while being 100% cheerful and professional. Who does that? Anyway, the food at Max is always great. Bacon lollipops are killer, and their burgers are always juicy and cooked properly. Max Sauce is delish and their bread & butter pickles rock. They make a great Moscow Mule, too. The dining room is a little awkward in set up; I prefer the high tops in the lounge or the bar itself. I had a gazpacho there once that was out of this world. The outside dining is great!

OM NOM NOM NOM. Longmeadow has never really had a restaurant like Max's. Bertucci's and Iron Chef come close in that there can be less of a family atmosphere there without losing the allure of decent food, but everywhere else is either family restaurants (the dearly departed Friendly's), chains, pizza places, or, well, Hu Ke Lau. Max Burger is different. This place screams adult sit-down restaurant, but could definitely work for families as well. They have microbrews on tap, a cocktail list, an atmosphere of both sports bar and nice restaurant, and a perfect location in the Longmeadow Shops. Housed in what used to be Blockbuster (fans of my review (all 3 of you) will note that I once worked at that Blockbuster, and found the experience to be :P), Max Burger is a major improvement on the earlier establishments, with a vibrant exterior and interesting interior, inviting people to actually come by and hang out for a bit. Max Burger offers a variety of appetizers (including some yummy buffalo shrimp), but the real draw is the burgers. These burgers are great. I got the Miss Daisy: brie, bacon, dijonaise, lettuce, tomato, on a toasted brioche bread. All of it was perfect, and the fries were excellent as well. I also tried some eggplant fries, and those were also excellent, despite the fact that I'm not a fan of eggplants (purple demons!). Prices are about what you would expect from a good sit-down burger place, and what you're getting is good, hormone-free beef without all the bad stuff you might get. Basically, it's good stuff. The service here is great as well, with waiters checking in and making sure that your meal is all set, and a great hosting staff. Basically, it's the restaurant that Longmeadow may or may not deserve, but it is the restaurant Longmeadow needs (both because the food is excellent, and because it will make the other food around it better).

Wow- crazy busy even on a Tuesday night. Luckily we got there at 5:30 so got a table at the bar. By 6:00 there was a wait. On a Tuesday? I decided to try something new since I had never been there. I ordered "The Greatful Veg" which spoke to the Deadhead in me. It was a vegitarian (which I'm not) burger made with quinoa, which has become my favorite grain of late to cook with. It had edamame in it which I didn't expect and gave it a great texture. I ordered it with cole slaw which was as good as any deli slaw. My friend ordered the tuna burger, which reminded me of salmon burgers my mom used to make. It's not raw tuna, but a patty. She loved it. And the sweet potato fries she got were delish. We wanted to sit outside but the outdoor patio isn't open yet. I may have given this 5 stars but our service was poor. While she was cute, she was a lousy server. She wanted us to order dessert while we were still eating dinner. And when we said no to dessert she brought our check. Again- still eating dinner. I know you're busy and want to turn over the table but let us finish our meal. Will I go back? Absolutely. Happy to have an upscale place to dine in our town. I hope the novelty dies down a little so its not so crazed. But good for them. And the food was great.

So, this is pretty much my "go to" restaurant in town. Their menu is diverse enough to offer something for everyone, the staff is great, and the prices are reasonable. I'm addicted to the shrimp burger and the eggplant fries, but it could be worse, right? A long overdue addition to the area.

I'm rounding up from two and a half stars. Max Burger's newest location has some kinks to work out. When our group of four arrived on a Friday at around 7, we were quoted a half an hour wait, which turned into an hour and change. I don't mind waiting, but waiting 100 percent longer than we were initially quoted is frustrating. Once we were seated, the waiting game continued. Our waiter was nice enough, but the service was extremely slow and our dinner lasted almost two and a half hours as a result. My burger was overcooked, which was a downer, and not something I expected at a burger joint. Max Burger's wine and cocktail lists remedied the situation to an extent-- there were plenty of adult beverages to choose from, and my husband was particularly enamored with Max Burger's rendition of a Moscow mule. I had a "Name Dropper"-- Hendrick's, St. Germain, and grapefruit juice-- which was delicious. I'm optimistic that Max had an off-night when we visited, and am definitely willing to give it another try.

Went on a Sunday afternoon and what a bummer of an experience. I only say bummer because our burgers were not cooked properly. Asked for medium and got medium rare. Burgers were sent back and came out the same way but at least I got pepper jack cheese this time. Bright red blood was oozing out; could only eat the edges that were medium well. No excuse on the cooks part for not giving us medium burgers. However, the flavor was good and the customer service from the waitress was great. Ending up getting extra fries, comped meal because I ate not even two bites of my burger and they offered us a free dessert which we declined. I'd be willing to give it another shot if there is a different cook and if we are not seated next to screaming children. I would like to avoid hearing loss.

Very good food and service here. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is I've noticed the food to be somewhat inconsistent time after time. Examples being burgers cooked more that the last, fries hot some times and others cold, and things like that. Great waitstaff and prompt seating even when busy. Very well run restaurant.

Nice ambiance and great selection of food and drinks. Flat screens all around and nice decor on the walls. A little on the noisy side on one end by the windows as a family actually moved to where I was sitting for a little more quiet. Tried their custom burger for the day, the "whoopi golburger" and the burger was very tasty. Was told that they tend to undercook their meats so I opted for medium-well and was not disappointed. Decent selection of beers on tap and a great selection of bottled ones. As you all know, service can be hit or miss depending on how your server's feeling. We came on a Sunday night so it wasn't too too busy, no wait for a table, food came quick, and our server was very friendly. Will go back again!

It was Valentine's Day & hubby and I are out and about looking for lunch. We wanted something different & new to us. We chose Max Burger. We walked in & after 2 minutes were finally acknowledged and seated. We ordered each a different burger. Hubby got one of their alcohol filled milk shakes, sooo good! The meals came out in a timely fashion. My burger came out a little rarer than I asked for but I went w/ it. Hubby's was cooked fine to his liking. The fries are decent. A bit expensive but to be expected in East Longmeadow, about $15. a burger. On our way out we walked by the hostess who never even said goodbye or anything. We might go back.

Another hit for the Max Group. Great decor, excellent waitstaff. The Spinch dip with pita chips was very good. Just right for 2 people. I had the Classic 8 oz burger, done a perfect medium, with blue cheese and carmelized onions, LT. One of the tastiest, juiciest burgers I have ever had! The burger itself had a great char-broiled sear, ate almost like a ground steak. The onion rings were also very good. Tender onions, nice lite batter. My wife had the Alfred burger with Comte' cheese, carmelized onions and a Rosemary aioli. She raved about it. Overall, excellent experience. Can't wait to go back to try some other burgers!! No reservations, so if you plan on going on the weekend and don't want to wait long, hit them up before 6 pm. Of course, there is a very nice bar if you have to wait. Also, even though it's a burger place, it's not really a kids place. No kids menu. The burgers are pricey and the smallest one if 5 oz. with the exception of the slider appys.

Excellent management and, nine times out of ten, consistent quality. There's been a few mixups in our orders but the manager/owner will always take care of you. Great food and convenient location no wonder it's always packed. Great selection of local/import beers on tap. Our go-to place for takeout any day of the week.

Place where you can get a Gluten Free Dairy free meal, but the staff varies greatly so ask for a waitperson experienced in allergies. One staff did not feel she needed to mention there were onions on the cheese cake my kid son ordered...she claimed compote means it contains onion- it does not!

I'm a Max fan. I've eaten at three of their other locations and call the Tavern among my favorite places in Springfield. I made my first (long overdue) trip to Max Burger last Friday night. As I mentioned in my tip they do not take reservations. Calling a half hour before you arrive can mean the difference of waiting ten minutes versus (at least) forty. I experienced the "ten" firsthand and watched as another couple waited the "forty". The atmosphere is comfortable, I'll call it "Beef Eclectic", it did seem a bit loud which sometimes adds to the experience, although a good part of the noise came from piped in music that I thought was over the top. Every staff member we encountered seems genuinely happy we were there. I like that. As is normal I tried to order off the menu. The waitress did not want to guarantee everything I'd asked for (which I respected) so she took my request back to the kitchen. I'd attempted to pretty much rework a new menu item so I'm sure it was new territory for her. I was pleased that they accommodated what I was looking for. My flank steak was truly perfect, the sweet potato fries a real treat. My wife said her burger was overcooked, but not bad enough to send back. It was Kobe and I recall the waitress cautioning that due to the size of the patty they didn't always come out perfect. I'd like to go back and try a different menu item (likely the ribs) but of course I'll call ahead.

Awful. Each time I have eaten there I get sick whether it's an upset stomach or digestive issues. I've tried to like it. A plain salad with chicken is fine. Their burgers are not that great. The buns are dry. The scallop salad is good but that is the one meal that I get sick off of. A few friends have too. The atmosphere is great friendly staff very nice manager , well run. I do not think this food is anything special at all. Max' tavern in Springfield is , but this place I avoid at all costs.

Bottom line on top: Good food, nice staff and nice atmosphere I had a pretty good experience here last night. Our server, Kyle, was friendly and attentive and was happy to answer questions we had about the menu and drinks. The location itself is nice - large but not too large. The outdoor patio is a great option for the area when it's not 100 degrees out like when I went. Furthermore, we got there very early and it wasn't crowded, but when we left it was PACKED. But here's the thing - I had my back to the rest of the restaurant and I didn't know it had become packed until my dining partner pointed it out. So somehow the noise level is low. I was trying to be relatively healthy so I went with the Frisky Chicken sandwich and eggplant fries. If it's eggplant it must be healthy, right? Everything was delicious - but as another reviewer noted, the eggplant fries will get a little greasy as they cool down and are best enjoyed quickly. I also really liked their homemade pickles. Kyle convinced us both to get dessert - I went with the strawberry rhubarb crisp a la mode - the fruit used in the crisp is seasonal. It was great - not too sweet and the tartness of the rhubarb paired well with the icecream.

Ordered the daisy burger with Brie. Too greasy and the patty tasted just ok. The sweet potato fries and eggplant fries were good. The eggplant fries especially just melt in your mouth. Friend ordered a turkey burger which was disappointingly dry. The bar area seemed like happening place for this quiet suburb. Overall, not impressed and will not return for this one.

Max Burger definitely did not live up to my expectations. The only other Max place I've eaten at is Max's Tavern, which I think is quite good even if a bit staid. I had hopes for Max Burger because one criticism I have with the Max group of restaurants is that their menus are a bit old-fashioned for my tastes. I thought they were branching out and modernizing a bit with the decision to open an 'upscale' burger place. I have no problem with what they offer on the menu, it's actually quite a good menu, or at least it would be if they had the ability to execute it correctly. For appetizers, we got the truffle spuds and pastrami-pickle tempura (I forgot exactly what it's called), they were fine. Nothing spectacular and definitely not as interesting as they sound. It wouldn't be enough for me to come back but the main dishes were what made the final decision not to return. I ordered the Blackjack which is supposed to have caramelized onions and chiles, guacamole, and pepperjack cheese. I ordered it medium rare, a decision I regret since the burger arrived completely soaked through to the bottom bum. However, the cooking isn't the only culprit. It was working in combination with slimy onions and an enormous un-spread glob of guacamole on the bottom (yes the bottom!) bun to create one of the greasiest and hard to eat burgers I've ever had. I wouldn't have minded as much either about the sloppiness had the burger been good. Instead it was bland and because of the massive amount of onions, it tasted greasy and slimy. Not pleasant. My partner ordered the Fatty Melt, which has grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns, was even greasier than mine. The only reason Max Burger is getting two stars and not one from me is because of the Nutte Buddy adult shake. It would almost be worth going back just to have one of those again. If you want a good 'gourmet' burger, try Plan B in Springfield near the Basketball Hall of Fame instead.

My husband and I went to Max Burger recently for lunch and we loved it! The decor was a little dark and a little strange with all the cow pictures on the walls but we can look past that when the food is so good! We were seated quickly and our waitor was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. For a starter we tried the pulled pork springrolls. These were absolutely delicious! I could have eaten many more them. The pork was extremely tender and the shell was crispy. They came with a dipping sauce that had the perfect kick to it. After the springrolls, I ordered the burger sliders with a side of french fries and my husband ordered the Inside Out burger with onion rings. The french fries were delicious -- hot and crispy! The burgers were also wonderful -- perfectly juicy and flavorful. We were too full for dessert but wished we had saved room for a spiked milkshake -- next time!

The food itself is 3 stars for me, but great service bumped it up to 4 stars. I came here with a big group. One was vegetarian (Kind of funny that we came to a burger joint with a vegetarian, but meat eaters out numbered her). Here is what we ordered and what I thought about them: 1. Spinach Artichoke Dip- Large is a decent size to share with a group. It's warm, ooey, gooey and full of spinach and artichoke. However, be warned that it's not for people who cannot eat stinky cheese. Their dip has a little more zing and stinky cheese smell. I don't mind it so I really enjoyed it. I especially appreciated the fact that instead of corn chips, it came out with warm crunchy pita chips. 2. Tuna Salsa- It was find the tuna game. It was mostly tomatoes and salsa flavor was overwhelming. I was hoping it was more play on words. Tuna chopped up like salsa and little bit of tomatoes. Instead it was a lot of tomatoes, onion and your normal salsa mixture with bits of tuna pieces. It comes with corn chips. Nothing special. 3. Sweet potato fries- Everyone at the table enjoyed them. They came out crunchy yet soft in the center. Sweet, but balanced by the salt. Very delicious and cooked well. Nice portion. 4. Max Classic - I wasn't a fan of their sauce, but few other people at our table enjoyed it. The bad part about this burger was that it was over cooked. My friend order medium (pink), but it was well done on one side of the patty. It was dry and didn't taste great. Burger was just okay. 5. Kobe Classic- The guy that ordered this got it medium well, and he vacuumed it up without complaints. 6. Portobella burger- It was a bit tough. It should have been cooked a little longer. Sauce was not bad, but it was hard to eat. the portobella kept sliding out because it was 2 slices stacked on top of each other to fill the bun and since it was hard to bite through completely, it was a disaster while eating. Flavors are there though. 7. The grateful veg- Vegetarian friend absolutely loved it. She said it's up on her top 5 best veggie burger list. She substituted the sauce to the max burger sauce. She wasn't too big on the sauce, but the veggie patty was delicious. 8. cole slaw and onion rings- these were substituted for some of our sides. Cole slaw was terrible. Don't get it. It has no flavor and it's watered down. Yuck. Onion rings are good, but it's greasy. Greasier than the fries, but isn't that why you pick onion rings over the fries? 9. Mac and cheese- It's pretty mild. We had little children in the group and it was a hit. However, for me, I like it a bit sharper with dash of black pepper. Overall, food was okay, but our waiter was helpful, attentive (not overly) and the vibe of the place on Saturday afternoon was nice. I wouldn't mind going back, but will definitely make sure that the meat are cooked properly.

wen't here with my friends for someone's birthday, This place is awesome, Honestly I am a Plan B fan but once I wen't here I have to say the quality of the food and the service is MILES beyond Plan B. the price is about the same and the Bourbon list isn't as fancy... we had a bunch of Apps, the Chicken Cordon-bleu balls are absolutely excellent and the spicy tuna curda is amazing... and three words: Candied Bacon Lollipops on the starters menu. returned again recently, still amazing, but just wanted to say although the burgers are the "main event" so to speak TRY THEIR RIBS!!!! absolutely amazing St Louis style ribs.

Was in town for our District Assembly, and when I knew that I was near this place, I drove my wife nuts!! So much so, we ate here twice, Thursday, and Saturday night. Thursday was a Great intro because our waitress was MAGNIFICENT!! She really knew the menu well, and recommended an excellent Belgian ale for me, and awesome shake for my wife (Banana's Foster Spiked shake). Enjoyed the Blackjack Burger, and my wife had the pan seared scallop Big Salad, and a cup of the soup of the day, potato with cheese which she said was very good. Returned Saturday with 3 friends, got the Miss Daisy this time, my wife, the meatloaf special, and I cant remember what the other friends had, but they all enjoyed their meals (the onion rings were awesome, so were the bacon lollipops, Fantastic!!). The only complaint? We have a 2 month old, and there was no changing table in the bathroom. Boss Man! You have a class business, it was hoppin' Saturday, but we did not wait long for our meals, our appetizers, and you have excellent folks on the floor, just hook that up Bro. Can't wait to visit Western Mass again so I can stop by. Doesn't hurt that my name is Max too hehe.

As the newest in a string of gourmet burger places in the Springfield/Hartford area I had high hopes for Max Burger. I'd say they were reasonably met. The server was extremely attentive and friendly, exactly the right kind of personality for a place like this. Even before 5:00 this restaurant was packed and by the time we left at 6:00 the line was out the door but she really was very personable and proactive. As for the food, the portobello "burger" was excellent but not quite as good as the one at Plan B in Springfield. My husband said his burger was good but light on the promised sauce. We also got a brownie sundae which was very rich and came with plenty of whipped cream. The only truly bad experience of our meal was the French fries which tasted like freezer burnt Ore Ida. If I come to an upscale restaurant I expect hand cut fries, not frozen from a bag. On the upside, they came with a side of ranch so that drowned out the freezer burnt taste a bit. Parking is plentiful in the Longmeadow shops and I'm happy to see another restaurant in this location. They seem to get very crowded and the space isn't huge, so I'd come early or late if possible.

Beautiful restaurant with some kickass burgers. We just checked this place out on a lively holiday night. The servers were very friendly, focused and attentive. The food was pretty awesome. My personal favorite thus far is the Daisy burger. And for you kids at heart, they have "adult milkshakes", spiked with deliciousness.

Had a fun time and terrific meal at this brand new location for the MAX team. Only open a few weeks and already a waiting list even on a weekday night. Our server Andrew had tons of enthusiasm for the menu...you'd have thought he was the owner. Wife had a nice glass of wine..i had a manhattan cocktail....nice sized and potent. We both had the MAX burger....mine an 8oz. topped with bacon and blue cheese....wife had a 5oz burger with vermont cheddar cheese. I had the fries...she had the potato chips. Everything was delicious. We sat outside on a beautiful night....just an incredibly enjoyable dining experience. Even the GM stopped over to make sure everything passed muster. This place has set the bar high in an upscale town...and they can't let their guard down. Locals are excited about MAX Burger....the place needs to continue running full speed ahead.

Delicious! Friday night, 7:00, walked right in and sat at the bar. The place was jammin' though and I'm not sure we could have gotten a table. We sat towards the end and chatted it up with bar manager Mike and the entire waitstaff all night. Even the GM stopped by to say hello. Friendliest waitstaff I've ever seen. We had three apps. Best spinach and artichoke dip I've ever tasted (and I order it everywhere). Delicious - goat cheesy - and a ton of good chips for dipping. Buffalo wings were sticky and tasty. Bacon lollipops were a real treat - a thick slab of candied bacon on a stick with a sweet apple cider reduction. But I was dippin' them in the spinach dip - soooooooooo good! I had the inside out burger. I expected a small pocket in the patty filled with gorg, but I was pleasantly surprised that the gorgonzola was actually just mixed in with the patty. I get black and bleu style burgers everywhere and this one topped them all. Onions - perfect, seasoning - perfect, arugula as the greens - a nice touch. The fries are like an upscale fair fry. Crispy, hand cut, skins on, and flavorful. Ask for some Sriracha ketchup for a good kick. I almost forgot about the beer. Best craft beer selction you'll find. 'Nuff said. We were hesitant to try an upscale burger joint with all the other burger joints in the area, but it was well worth it. All the reviews knocking this joint probably whine about every restaurant. Don't bother reading them. Why are you still reading this? Get your arse over to MaxBurger. Tell 'em JB sent ya.

I'm really a fan of this place but I'm not sure if it's because I really like the food and atmosphere or that there is nothing like it in the area. I've been to the Max Burger in West Hartford once and it was good but in thinking about the burgers themselves, I'd much rather be eating at Plan B. I just think that for a place which claims to specialize in burgers, they should have a larger selection of burgers and the meat does not even compare to the freshness that you would get at Plan B. But, Plan B burger comparisons aside, I do like this place for everything else. They have some good appetizers- we tried the pulled pork spring rolls which were delicious and their salads are also pretty diverse and tasty. If you're looking for deserts, their menu is not too interesting but they do have awesome milkshakes and I would strongly suggest the PB&J- it's awesome. As far as the atmosphere goes, it's a great place for a sit down dinner but around dinner time, it gets really busy and really loud in the bar area. The outdoor seating is really nice, even though it just overlooks a parking lot. Overall, a great addition to the area.

Max Burger is into meat. There are cow pictures, maps of what cuts = what meat and even cow skulls. The decor is dark and masculine. It's about *meat.* So I kind of expected them to know what to do with meat. They don't. Our appetizer was the bacon lollipops, which were cute, but a brutal waste of gorgeous pork belly. What could have/should have been tender and delicious, was tough and chewy. When the server came back to "explain" our entrees, we knew that Max Burger was merely Max Pretentious. Our entrees were all right. No more. The price for 4 entrees, one appetizer was $88, way out of line with the quality of the food. We do not recommend this place. A so-so burger shouldn't be $20. Max Burger is going for the gastropub feel, lots of craft beers on chalkboards, but not backing it up with good food.

Been here several times for lunch, dinner and drinks The Service - Overall friendly, some waiters/waitresses are friendlier and more attentive than others. On the last visit though, we had a very unpleasant experience. We were sitting at the bar area and had decided to leave around 12:30 (after midnight) The bartender and waitstaff said their goodbyes but the patron they had been conversing with (they seemed to know him pretty well) made a blatant and rude comment along the lines of "dont come next time if you're not going to buy anything." Incredibly offensive considering we had gotten dinner, dessert and drinks. The wait staff heard but did not apologize, acted as if nothing had happened and continued to chat with the patron. I wish we hadn't tipped them so well. We left very unsettled and unhappy with our experience. The Bad - Food Buffalo Chicken Wrap was underwhelming, very subpar and not worth the $11. The chicken was crispy but had no flavor whatsoever. I always thought that buffalo chicken should have the buffalo sauce slathered on the actual chicken. Seemed like the kitchen just slapped on a spoonful of sauce unevenly into the wrap and called it a day. This wrap makes me think that no one should come here for anything else but the burgers. Pulled Pork Springrolls were tasty but there isn't a lot of pork into the actual springrolls. All you really get are 2 deep fried wonton wrappers with 2 spoonfuls of pulled pork stuffed in. Not worth the $7. Portions were rather small too, 2 4inch springrolls cut in half. That's it. Eggplant fries were a bit on the greasier side- eggplant soaks up all the oil when fried so the greasiness was expected. Not a fan, I ate a couple but then gave up trying to like it. The Good - Food BlackJack and Grateful Veg burgers are delicious. BlackJack burger was nicely moist and cooked to perfection. The jack cheese, green chile, guac and honey chipotle onion toppings were delicious. The flavors worked really well together, amazingly good down to the last bite. Grateful Veg was flavorable and definitely fulfilling. I don't like most veggie burgers, I prefer actual meat but I would get the Grateful Veg again in a heartbeat. No complaints with the Sweet Potato fries. Not the best I've had but still noteworthy. Spinach Artichoke Dip was phenomenal! Really rich and thick, not at all resembling the soup-like consistency other restaurants make it. It's made with goat cheese, I detest goat cheese but couldn't taste the awful flavor in the dip at all. The Drinks- Mixed drinks are really well made, props to the bartenders! Tried the Georgia Mule, Lily Pad, Sage Mojito. All really great.

My new fav burger place. Had the burger of the day "Diablo" or something like that. Absolutely awesome. The eggplant fries were to die for. The soup was amazing and the truffle something side dish was incredible. Service was very friendly, knowledgeable and fast. A lil pricey ($30 for "lunch"), but other than that it was an amazing burger experience. Impeccably clean and great atmostphere. I'll be back.

I met a friend for Lunch recently at Max''s. I had a Max Classic...which I love. It is a very inviting restaurant and the service is very good.

The food here is incredible. Good hearty salad, tasty appetizers and delicious burgers. I've had the fatty melt (which was TOO good), and recently had the Kobe Classic which is hands down the best burger I've ever had. The staff and management really take service and the guest experience seriously. The manager came out to us to inform us that upon his inspection of my burger, he wasn't satisfied with how it looked so he was having them prepare another. I was seriously impressed with this and there wasn't even a delay when all was said and done. Excellent place to eat if you want a homerun for service and quality of food.

I am writing this on behalf of all the vegetarians who get dragged to burger places. The veggie burger here is FLIPPING DELICIOUS!!!!! You can also substitute things like edamame or other healthier items like breaded eggplant for the french fries that come with every burger for a small charge of 75 cents. Also it promotes that all their beef is humanely raised and hormone free, which is nice. THe atmosphere is casual but nice / modern with a lot of industrial looking decorations, which I liked, and our waiter was very, very good and very friendly. Also I need to take a moment to mention the best item on the menu: A makers mark milkshake.....yes, you heard me.

Great place to eat; my wife and I spoil ourselves every once in a while with a non-chili/applebees experience and we were happy someone reccomended this place to us. On the last visit we got the Bacon Lollipops which are delicious; 4 is not enough. We also got the Minnie weiner sampler and those were just as good. I got the.. Burger with the truffle mayo((I forget the name with now sorry)) and it was great; perfectly cooked. My wife who is a well-done or I scream bloody murder kind of woman was more than satisfied with her Bacon smash. We had a trainee taking care of us and for how packed the place was she did an awesome job. Our third time going and we plan on going back for more.

Went here the day after Christmas. My girlfriends brother said they had the best burger. They were ok. I went to Plan B Burger a few days before. They did not compare to Plan B. The burger had a funky texture. The decor was a little creepy a well.

Yum! We went here as a group of 7 on a Sunday afternoon and had a wonderful meal! Our server was very knowledgable about the menu and was friendly and helpful in helping us with our orders. We ordered the bacon lollipops as an appetizer, which were devoured quickly. Our main courses followed. Two of us had the Max & Cheese, which they loved. I had the shrimp burger, which was to die for, and my husband had the "slow burner"--a Sunday special burger--that was fantastic. Others had burgers and the chicken ranch salad, all of which were enjoyed heartily. Our one complaint was that the music was way too loud, making conversation almost impossible. That aside, we'd recommend this to everyone.

To give you a quick idea of what I think of this place, let me tell you the following: it's been open for just over a week and I've already been there three times. Clearly they're doing something right. I had very high hopes coming in on my first visit. It's exactly my kind of place - moderately priced, nice atmosphere, but casual and not stuffy. There's nothing like it in Longmeadow, and as a result, it has been absolutely packed every night they've been open. Expect a minimum of thirty minute wait times, and plan on waiting at least ten even if you've called ahead. The first thing you'll notice walking in is the large bar which spans the length of the room. There's a solid liquor selection, quite a few draught beers, and dozens of bottled beers available. Bar seating was extremely busy, as were the high-tops directly across from it. The majority of the rest of the seating consists of standard tables with a couple of booths against a wall. It's not a large restaurant, and seating is dense. Combine this with the casual atmosphere, and you've got a recipe for a very, very loud environment. If you were hoping for a quiet, intimate, date night you've picked the wrong place. Enough already about describing the place, you're here to hear about the food, right? Well, I can tell you that it's yet to disappoint me. Burgers have consistently come out precisely as ordered and very juicy. Incredibly flavorful as well, certainly one of the best burgers I've had at any restaurant. If you're curious about the "Max Sauce" that comes standard, it's a spiced mayo blend applied fairly lightly to the bun. I personally can't stand mayo, but the sauce is actually quite good and complements the burgers nicely. I've had both the 8oz Max Burger classic and the Kobe burger so far. The Kobe burger had a slightly different flavor, perhaps slightly better than the standard burger, but not enough to justify the extra four bucks over the standard one. For sides, I've tried the fries (fantastic), kettle chips (good, but not any better than Cape Cod chips from the supermarket), and the truffle spuds. They're like mashed potato in a batter, fried, and brushed with truffle oil. Think fancy tater tots, really. Good and different, but you don't get as many as the you do the fries, and there's an upcharge for them. Worth trying, but I won't order them again. For dessert, I've had the passionfruit sorbet - incredibly rich and delicious, and I don't tend to be much a fan of sorbet. Service has been consistently excellent. Attentive, friendly, and non-intrusive servers who seem legitimately happy to be working there and actually have personalities. Very knowledgeable about the food and the extensive beer selection - enough so to describe the beers and make suggestions if you inform them what kind of beer you like. They also know how to properly pour the various bottled beers into your glass, which is a refreshing change from a lot of other restaurants. So, to sum it up: casual but loud and busy atmosphere, great servers, extensive beer and liquor selection, and very, very good food. One of the best burgers I've had in a while, and some of the best food all-around for the price bracket. Worth checking out if you're a fan of beers or burgers. And if you're not a fan of beers or burgers, well, I'm very sorry for you and what I can assume is a very unfulfilled life.

The draft list alone deserves five stars. And the atmosphere too. But I'm taking one point off for the food which is usually very good. Every now and then something may come out undercooked or too salty. And 99 times out of 100 the waitstaff is spot on but one time the waiter forgot to enter our order. Lunch took an hour. Very very good overall.

Please do NOT go to Max Burger in Longmeadow. I say this only because, as Yogi Berra once said, nobody goes there anymore because it's too crowded. So stay away so that I don't have a problem getting a table!!! Simply put, this place has put Longmeadow on the map. A few years ago, Longmeadow (where I live) was a sleepy bedroom town. Anyone who wanted dinner out went to Northampton or whatever. Then Iron Chef arrived, upping the ante of quality destinations in our town. Then 3 Café moved to Longmeadow, joining La Cucina, taking our town further up the ladder of quality. Then: TA-DA: Max Burger, causing sleepy Longmeadow to positively leap over the destination tipping point. This place has incredible food. My wife and I have yet to have a bad meal. But what makes it really special is the atmosphere and service. Tim and James, the managers, feel like old friends to us. Yes, I know it's their job to be friendly, but they (and the waitstaff) take it to a whole new level. It's like Cheers with burgers. James told us they hire their staff based on attitude. You can teach a person to be a good server, but they have to arrive already equipped with good people skills. Friendly and fun staff are what make Max Burger the place I want to be for casual dining, good food, likelihood of running into friends, and that "home at last" feeling. Just, please, don't YOU go there, all right? Call ahead to be put on their wait list if you are on your way from somewhere. Typical wait for seating on a Friday or Saturday can be long, but if you like people, you will inevitably get into a conversation with folks standing at the entrance waiting to be seated. Also, Max Burger is suitable for couples with kids, young adults who love to stand at the bar and check each other out, and actual grown ups like my wife and myself. It's a fact that if you are over 50, when you pass through the doors of Max Burger, you are immediately 20 years younger. I've actually had a few young adults mistake me for Robert Pattinson and my wife for Scarlett Johansson. I swear I'm not making this up!! P.S. Early on there was a noise problem. What I mean is in parts of the restaurant you could not hear the person across from you. That has been fixed. We were there last night. Acoustic panels have been installed in the ceiling, making it easy for my wife and I to converse. We could still hear the always tasteful music, and watching the Patriots win was more pleasant than ever. So if you were put off by the noise early on, you can go back now. Wait. Nevermind. I didn't say that. Please stay away!!!

went here for lunch while staying in springfield! we went at lunch time on a friday so it was very busy but we got seated right away. my boyfriend got the bacon lollipops for an appetizer (how cool.. bacon made into lollipops!) he loved them. for lunch he got a fatty melt, which is basically a bacon cheeseburger served on grilled cheeses- he loved it as well! i got a veggie burger which was HUGE and really tasty. both of our lunches came with a huge order of fries.. ours were a little undercooked so i recommend asking for them well done! the servers were great as well and the restaurant was very clean! over all a wonderful lunch!

Great restaurant! Great selection (the scallop salad is amazing and burgers are fabulous) and the staff is super friendly. All around an excellent restaurant and dining experience! One of the few restaurants in Longmeadow that is completely worth going to!

I LOVE burgers. They're one of my most favorite things in the world. When we came to Longmeadow for Thanksgiving (like we do every year) we were told we had to check out the new place over in the Shops. People were raving about these burgers, but I've had better. I'm also a little unsure of why people claim it's a "Sports Bar." Have they ever been to a real one? This is nothing of the sort - more like a restaurant with a couple of TVs. No sporty atmosphere. The Good *Lots of great cheese options. Gruyere, Brie, Gorgonzola.. great options. Only wish they had Stilton! *Multiple sizes for your burger. I finished the 5oz. but I wouldn't have dared try the 8oz. That's a lot of beef! It's all-natural beef too, if it makes you feel better. *The pickles. SO YUMMY. Great amount of sour and spice and just nice and drippy. Loved them. *Lots of beer options. Great selection and I'm sure they rotate in the seasonal stuff. The sangria was okay too. The Bad *These burgers aren't cheap.. I've had some great burgers for under $10 in the DC area, so this was pretty expensive.. especially when you factor in sides and drinks. *The chips. There wasn't anything special about them. I thought they were too greasy. *No seasoning. My burger tasted kind of bland. I got the Inside-Out burger, and it didn't have enough onions but had way too much arugula. The lettuce shouldn't be overflowing. It's a burger, not a salad. My roll was also a little dry and it made my burger pretty crumbly. My cheese was great but I could have also used a little more of that, too. I did wonder why it was called "Inside Out" when the cheese was on the OUTSIDE of the burger.. where it normally is. Weird. *Decor is a little creepy, honestly. I don't like being reminded of what I'm eating the entire time I'm there. Cow heads on the walls, an entire mural of cows.. a little odd. Not a fan. Good, new, solid option for the area, but I'm thinking some of these people need to get out more.

This vegan walked into Max Burger (with her parents...I normally wouldn't waltz into a burger joint and expect special service!) and was blown away by both the service and the food. I was going to get a salad, but my dad insisted on asking the server about vegan options. She was very gracious and, after asking someone in the kitchen, revealed the array of vegan options. I had the veggie chili sans cheese and the veggie burger (no bun) - both were absolutely delicious. I really appreciated everything and highly recommend Max Burger, even if you don't eat animal products.

As others have said, the veggie burger here is to die for. Got it with the eggplant fries, amazing but not as healthy as they sound! My 4 yo loves their kids selection, which is actually real food, not frozen kids' meals. I haven't always loved max restaurants but this is a great addition to the Longmeadow shops area.

Food taste on a whole was very good except that the all the burgers were overcooked. We all ordered four burgers med-rare, and all received well done burgers. They still tasted good, but would have probably been better the way we ordered. Plus it took a long time for our food, maybe if we recieved it sooner, the burgers would have been cooked to order.

I've been twice so far and it's awesome. Great service, awesome atmosphere...it's the perfect place to go before you go out. The pulled pork spring roll appetizer is amazing! I'll definitely be back.

I really should be giving this place three stars, but I must be in a good mood. I like the atmosphere of this place, modern but not crazy, full but not overcrowded. We had called ahead and still had to wait about 15 minutes, but for a Saturday that is expected. Plenty of people were grabbing drinks at the bar and waiting outside, nice for a summer day. After being seating we had ordered our beers and burgers, but the night started going down here from here. The beers came and for $5 or $6 they are a fair value. I ordered the Alfredo burger and it was severely overcooked. I ordered it medium rare and it was served well done, black crust on the outside and all. I understand cooking to the correct temperature is not an exact since, but I have trouble seeing how any decent cook would look at that burger with a thick charcoal crust and still think that is medium rare. I ended up finishing my meal, because I hate to send back and waste food, and the rest of my party was happy with their food, so I hope that was a rare mistake. We ended up telling the waiter after I finished and he sent the manager over who offered us a free dessert. We ended up ordering a brownie sunday on the recommendation of the waiter. The edges of the brownie were extremely dry and with no real taste. If that wasn't recommended as their top dessert I may be ok with that, but if that is their best I would hate to eat anything else from there. Finally our check came and they ended up having the wrong price listed for the beers, which they took care of, but another sign of poor management. I really like places like this, gives me a reminder of the city while still living in Western Massachusetts and the burgers had good flavor and the drinks have reasonable prices. The fact a place will serve a charcoal black burger as medium rare still bothers me though, but hopefully another visit can change my mind. This place is still better than anything you will find at 5 guys.

For all of you thinking Longmeadow is now the place to be because of MAX burger, get a life. Sure, it is better than Burger King and McDonalds, but it isn't anything exceptional that should warrant it being packed full every weeknight. I mean they couldn't even cook my burger medium rare, let alone medium. Great business idea by the owner as he noticed a relatively affluent market that is in dire need of a "good" restaurant. I'll likely go here again just do to convenience but it certainly won't be due to the food.

Meh. It's a cool place, it's just not the kind of place where I'm like.... I NEED to eat here. The food is good, just to out of this world. Kinda pricey. Bar is hit or miss, on busy nights they have great drinks... On slower days, it's definitely the B squad.

I consider myself a bit of a burger aficionado. I lived in Longmeadow for years and we were sorely lacking for a real restaurant, so naturally when Max Burger opened, I tried it out the first week. When I still lived in western Mass I went probably every 1-2 weeks. I have tried almost every burger, and love hearing their daily specials and trying those out occasionally. I've never had anything but a burger so I can't comment on the chicken, fish, or entrees. I almost always get the amazing truffle fries and several glasses of the St. Supery sauvignon blanc. I've tried the gluten-free cupcake - delicious. The icebox pie was my least favorite menu item as it tasted freezer-burned. I've never had a burger I didn't love. I'm not crazy about bacon but I tried to bacon lollipops - they were interesting and tasty. The service is always excellent, the bartenders are friendly and experienced, the wait is usually shorter than promised (and they do offer call-ahead seating), and it's the only place in town open late enough to catch playoff games or stop for a post-night out drink or dessert. The manager (Tim, I think?) is always present and is professional yet friendly with guests. Everyone here makes you feel valued as a paying customer but treats you like an old friend when you aren't sure what to order. I have been to Plan B Burger in Springfield several times and while the menu is more extensive, they don't hold a candle to the quality and service at Max Burger. I do wish they would figure out the outside seating situation, though. Last summer, they apparently did not have the proper licensing to serve food or drinks, but people could bring drinks outside and sit at the patio tables. It's only just warmed up enough for that this year, and I hope they will offer outdoor service.

I have never been treated so well at a restaurant. The staff was so attentive and friendly. Our waitress was so informative and told us everything we needed to know! We started out with drinks, she recommended a few and we took her advice! The black cherry hard cider was amazing ! Next we got the spinach artichoke appetizer, AMAZING! My Kobe burger was perfect ! The manager came over to ask out everything was , and was very down to earth about it , he seemed to genuinely care ! Our waitress was on top of everything ! I was a server bar tender for years and am never this impressed with service ! It's definitely worth checking out ! Great food , Friendly people, beautiful restaurant ! My new favorite place !

I love Max's burger! The decor is beautiful and most importantly to me it has absolutely perfect lighting! The waitstaff are pleasant and accommodating. The bartenders are wonderful. The beef sliders are delicious and the home cut fries are amazing. I had a delicious asparagus soup served with just a little crunchy pieces of breaded/baked? asparagus tips on top. I could have eaten a quart of it. The only problem is that it is extremely busy but I'm willing to wait as long as it takes!

This is my second visit to Max Burger in Longmeadow but only my first for lunch. We went there mainly because Berkshire Brewing Co "River Ale" was on tap. It is very difficult to find within an hours ride of north central CT so this was a treat 1/2hr from home. Ooops.......I did say WAS on tap. The waitress informed us that the draught menu changes all the time. So, ok, we order a bottle of a Scottish ale to split and find it "just ok". Checking the bottle we find the "Best By" date to be 3 mo. past due. "Stop ur whining" Just order an "Innis and Gunn". Always outstanding.. YIPES! ,! ! Skunky beer. My buddy calls over the manager, James, and expresses our concerns 1. Changing draught beers often 2. Selling beers that are past their prime. James was wonderful. Listened attentively. Was empathetic. Promised to take our concerns to the bar manager. Now the food. C'mon......it's Max. I have eaten at all of the Max restaurants and have never had a bad meal. Never had an average meal. That is what you come to expect. Always wonderful dishes, perfectly prepared, served by professional attentive waitstaff. This restaurant is no different. A burger cooked to my liking and just delicious while my buddy "got wild" and tried a steak hot dog. Both wonderful. Our suggestion.........set aside 5 or 6 taps for a core set of draughts that your customers appear to like ( the BBC River Ale sold out fast we were told) and rotate the remaining 10 + taps. Besides that.......keep doing what you are doing. Will be back to report on their progress.

We went a month ago and thought the service and food were the best, However tonight the two of us went and it was completely opposite. The Hostess took awhile to look at us when we walked in to greet us, we were told it would be about 25 minutes, we are okay with that BUT the manager came up to a guy with his wife and daughter who came in about 10 minutes after us, shook his hand as he must have known him, said hello to him, the proceeded to look at the book with the peoples names who were waiting and within 5 minutes sat them down ahead of us waiting, we finally got sat down at the crowded tables in the loud bar for our dinner. We could barely hear the waiter.. The food tonight was just okay compared to last time, the roll the burger was on was completely soggy and the eggplant fries were way over salted.. Very loud & crowded. Probably won't be going back again.. There are much better places out there..

We've been to Max in West Hart a number of times and when we heard that there was one opening in Longmeadow, were happy to hear that. As it turns out, the man who was going to be the manager was in the restaurant and came out to speak to us for a few minutes. So, we called ahead tonight to get on the list and were told that there was no wait, was quiet, so they wouldn't take names until it was busier. We arrived 10 minutes later to find a waiting crowd. OK, maybe everyone arrived in 10 minutes. We put our names on the list and were told it would be about 20 minutes. After about 35 minutes, my husband went in and was told that it would be a little while longer and he said, we're outside, the woman said, fine, I'll come out to let you know when the table is ready. 20 minutes later, he went in because other people had been seated who had arrived after us and the ?manager? said, we thought that you had left so we took other people on the list. WTF? So finally, after a LONG wait, we were seated. The food was good, the beer was good and the iced tea was good, but there really needs to be better communication. As we were leaving, we heard someone say that they would be texted when the table was ready. So why the woman at the desk didn't offer it, who knows? When the new-ness wears off, the service had better improve, if not, customers will find other places to eat that offer better customer service.
