My wife and I love diners, and we've eaten at some renowned ones. This one is a gem, and Fitchburg is lucky to have it. In one of the old fashioned railroad car diners, this one has the good fortune to be right by the Fitchburg train station. For several years, we'd travel from our home in Quincy to visit the in-laws in Franklin County, and this being the last train station on the line westbound, they'd pick us up and drop us off here. So one morning, my father-in-law drops us off at 5:30 AM, that being the time he can do it, and the first train to Boston isn't for over an hour. So we decide to see if we can get some breakfast, and we catch the diner just as it's opening. We were served a fine and filling breakfast, for dirt cheap, and what more could we want? We were the only ones in the place, and the owner was fine with us hanging out with mugs of tea until it was time to catch our train. We now live in the next town over from the in-laws, and don't ride the train to or from Fitchburg any more, but if you're a local and you love diners too, give Moran Square a shot!

This is a real diner -- an honest to god HISTORIC GEM. Best pancakes in Worcester County. The menu is simple and the cook is an expert. Eggs perfect every time. Hash browns are great. Even the coffee is good. For me -- it's worth the drive up to Fitchburg and past 4-5 other diners. (Don't order the orange juice/drink)

Delicious breakfast no matter what you get - pancakes, waffles, egg sandwiches, home fries, etc. At lunch, their hot dogs and burgers are delicious. Chris, the owner, makes a wonderful fish chowder. Everything is moderately priced, and the staff is nice and mostly family. Warning: Their orange juice is Sunny Delight-esque. That's my only complaint.

Breakfast is so plain and limits. I order Hash and cheese omelet. Come out too much meat and less cheese. I realize it is not hashbrown what I thought. They ask what else I want? I thought exchange from I dislike. After done and she threw food away and cost me for two breakfast. I ask why? She said waste food. I ask to go box to not waste my money too. Too late! Still cost me for two breakfast! She said that miscommunication, sorry. Menu is kind rip off. We wont go there again. Ugly Omelet restaurant in Lungburg are best!

Love this place. Staff is very friendly, food is fairly priced, and is like home cooking. Wish I could get in there more often. Homemade desserts! Cash only!

This place is a wonderful stop for breakfast and though I have not had lunch there I would have to believe it is equally good. This was my second visit. My usual bacon and eggs with a sample pancake was what I had today and it was good! The pancake was a pumpkin pancake and in my opinion a great pancake is the hallmark of a diner or any breakfast for that matter! The staff was wonderful , friendly chatter with new customers ( me ) and the locals that make up the majority of folks here. Keep up the good work!

Greasy and satisfying like a good diner should be. In a caboose like a good diner should be. Not open til the wee hours like it probably was when Fitchburg had a factory economy in the days of yore, but glad it's still around for the tasty diner standbys - eggs, bacon, pancakes, coffee.

Back to reevaluate; adequate food, not quite the delight as previous visit and the service was a touch harried w/ the lunch crowd. Had the Grape Nut pudding which turned a so-so visit up at least one star. Tasty. Sorry to see some folks have had a less-than-stellar time. Try the Blue Moon in Gardner or Kenmore in Spencer perhaps?

Excellent breakfasts. Friendly attentive service from the family that owns the place. This is a classic diner in a real diner car that has been open (not sure about how many owners) for 50+ years.

Alas, a major disappointment. Negatives "Pink Lemonade" tasted like Za-Rex The only flavor of ice cream available was vanilla and tasted like supermarket house brand. My wife got food poisoning from her burger. Positives: We were able to park in the small lot at 1:20pm Staff were friendly I don't expect fine cuisine at a diner, but I do expect food with character. I don't understand how my experience could be so different from all the other reviews :-(
