I love them but they're not five star good. They are the best in the area for classic american style chinese food. It's always fresh and crunchy and flavorful. They are a little slow with delivery at times, but that could just be because it is so busy. Their ham fried rice is sooo good that I often get cravings for it...which sucked when I moved to Arizona. But now I'm back so I have to go enjoy some very soon.

I grew up around the corner from Golden House and it was my families go-to Chinese take out for the better half of a decade, I LOVE this place. Best local Chinese food around. The crab rangoon's are out of this world, and the beef teriyaki melts in your mouth. I judge ever take out place against Golden House, so far no one has been able to beat them.

SHIT!!!!! I actually found a place that is worse than Nan Ling in Boston. Who knew that was even possible. OMG!!!! I ordered from here Saturday night and the food here almost had me begging for Nan Ling to rescue me. I ordered a PuPu platter for 1 and paid $1.50 extra for a small pork fried rice with that. Hold on.....okay I am back from the bathroom losing my lunch over the thought of even thinking about the hideousness of what I got here. Let me run it down for you : Chicken wings: Rubbery skin and tasteless overall Chicken fingers: Ugh. Similar to Nan Lings but even harder and nastier. Boneless spareribs: Burnt. Not nicely charred but black as hell Crab Rangoon: The filling was tasteless and the wonton was burned Fried shrimp: Tasted like a glob of dough Egg roll: Stunk like rancid oil so I wouldn't even taste it Teriyaki: Burned worse than the ribs. Inedible Pork fried rice: Tasted like it was like 5 days old On top of all that everything was loaded with 560000000 milligrams of salt. So not only is food poisoning a possibility but your BP will skyrocket too. There was NOTHING redeeming here...seriously. The other reviewer must have been from Mars.

Awsome Chinese food!!!! Golden House in Everett and ChinaChopsticks (in Quincy) are my only 2 favorite chinese restaurants... and Ive been to a lot of Chinese restaurants... Golden House has great Lo-Mein especially Sczechuan Style (Spicy) I recommend this to anyone who likes spicy food but if you are a die-hard fan for spicy food make sure to tell them "EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA spicy" or else its not that spicy and when i mean not that spicy i mean barely spicy!! Their plates are pretty decent ... they fill you up.. but I do warn you before you get a small size of lo-mein or rice or spicy chicken... its really small!!! But a small size for appetizers is a good size! I gave this place a 4 because its been more than once that they have messed up our order not a huge ordeal (i dont like mushrooms so i always ask for no mushrooms and my order ends up with mushrooms, but the food is so good that i dont mind picking out the mushrooms) but lately the guy who takes your order over the phone is fluent in english which makes ordering a lot easier! Their crab ragoon is perfect... just enough cream cheese.. their rice is also good!! not dry and not greasy just right!!! I tried other spicy items on their menu ... theyre not as spicy as you expect so make sure to tell them to spice it up a lot more!! Price: A bit expensive compared to other chinese restaurants.. I love their food so much that sometimes I wish I could eat out but they're lobby is the size of a medium bathroom with 2 booths! So if you are just looking for some take-out definately come to this place!!!

I have been ordering from Golden House as long as I can remember, and because of this they know who I am when I call... They deliver right to my back door & the boys who deliver (Sons of the owners) are the Greatest!!! Food is great, always dependable... Wish they had Spicy Salted Shrimp so I didnt have to spend as much $$ as I do ordering from Asian Taste, but if Im not craving my Shrimp, I go here... The BF loves it & he doesnt love much... Has absolutely the best Hot & Sour soup I have ever had, almost a sweet taste & it makes everything just go right... Rice is never clumpy like most places! Everything is great, Dumplings & Rangoons are my fave... Just make sure if ordering dumplings you specify you want the Ginger Sauce with it, they always forget to send it.

I have been going to the Golden House since I moved to Everett 7 years ago. Tonight I ordered food and food a rubber band in my eggroll. When I called Golden House to tell them what happened I first spoke to a gentleman that was apologetic. Then some woman got on the phone and she gave me such attitude, pretty much telling me I was lying. So I told her I would bring the food back I know I won't get my money back but I'm sick to my stomach at just the thought so won't be eating the rest of the food.

We were feeling adventurous and my favorite Chinese place doesn't make what I was craving for, so we tried this place out. I ordered the sesame chicken and made it an combo with pork fried rice. My boyfriend ordered the orange chicken and also made it a combo. According to him, the food he ordered was great. I wish I could say the same. The outside was way too sweet it was weird. It was like in some places hard and sweet. Some pieces I didn't feel comfortable eating because it looked strange. As if they used a part of the chicken that you shouldn't use. Ugh. I just didn't feel like whatever it was I should eat. So I didn't. The rice was fine, nothing exciting there. I won't be ordering from here again.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! So, I ordered chinese food on New Years Eve (like the rest of the world). Last year we ordered from Golden House, the food never came, they never called and when we called they said "oh, we must have lost your order". Funny! This year I thought I would give them a chance to redeem themselves. I know New Years is a busy night for them so thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. So, I called at 5:15 the girl says "we can deliver", I said, "are you sure", she said Yes. Put in an order, 7:00 still no food, 7:30 still no food. Guess what?? I called them and their response "oh, we must have lost your order"? REALLY???? 2 years in a row! I wouldn't even have minded that much, stuff happens, but the guy who answered my call was the cockiest, most arrogant person! He didn't even try to atone for it. No apology, he said "well, you know we have about 1000 orders right now". Good for you! How many of those do you think you'll lose? HORRIBLE establishment! The foods certainly not worth giving it a 3rd try!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
