You don't usually find sandwich places that take pride in all their ingredients being fresh. Most places reuse things daily, where D'Orazio's is notorious for using fresh ingredients daily. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is delicious! They have so many options, and even have homemade meals in their fridge and freezer. Love it!

D'Orazio's is a nice little sandwich place. I haven't been enthralled by their meatball or eggplant subs but their straight Italian sandwiches are great. I especially dig their Spicy Italian and it is my usual when I stop in. Their soups leave something to be desired but perhaps I'm just harsh on chilis and chowders. Not up to snuff their. Maybe they have an amazing Wedding or Minestrone. It looks like they have some tasty take out dishes like pastas but I haven't tried any of those.

The turkey gobbler is my favorite! D'Orazios is the best place in town for sandwiches and the prices aren't any higher but the sandwiches are actually stuffed full. I love the deli- the meats are always fresh and the imported mortadella is delish! They tend to be very busy at lunch so calling ahead is key. Also, the chicken salad and pasta salads are awesome.

My absolute favorite sandwich shop. Tucked away on Depot St. in the midst of multiple shops is this little piece of heaven. The menu is expansive, ranging from varieties of italian sandwiches with all the classic meats, cheeses and toppings to your standard chicken salad or chicken caesar wrap. They offer wraps, subs, italian bread and baguettes and they are all excellent. The baguettes are perfection - crusty but chewy and soft. My favorite is the Italian Lite on Italian bread on the panini press. In addition to sandwiches they also have soups, salads and a multitude of prepared items in refidgerators for you to take home and heat up yourself. Sweets like tiramisu (outstanding) and cupcakes also occupy fridge shleves if you're looking to satisfy your sweet tooth. While you're waiting for your sandwich you can also peruse a variety of Italian goodies. It's not cheap but the quality is what makes it worth it. The staff is also very friendly! Only downside is they're closed on Sunday + Monday.

Cool little Italian market. They have pecan brownies from New York's Carnegie Deli. They're enormous.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
