I always have a great meal at the Munich house. The monthly hops nights and weekly sausage nights are legendary and now they have their new outdoor Biergarten open for Oktoberfest! You will not leave unsatisfied! And great German beer to go with it all!

I am 100% the least qualified reviewer to share an opinion on a German place in Western Mass; however, fortunately I was w TH and MZ, both of whom know their schnitzels from their spatzles. Arrived just as a snow emergency was declared in Springfield - and while I was initially panicking that this meant we would be trapped in the resto, once I saw all the waitstaff was wearing leiderhosen and sipped on one of their banging hefeweizens, I have to say, I wouldn't have been pissed if this had occurred. Details. There were a solid 4 other tables present (two tops), so clearly it was bumping - somehow service still managed to be overwhelmed but kind - and yes, I did make our waiter take me through the menu thoroughly, if for no other reason than to hear him wax poetically abt sauerkraut balls and weiners. The boys rated the schnitzel as okay - not quite a hit as it was a bit soggy? - and the spatzel similarly - plates were consumed but not rhapsodized abt - and I suspect all the food was just a shade lukewarm for my liking. While they have mostly pork, chicken, veal, duck, they do have veg options (pasta, salad) - and as it was move-in day and all I had for meals were ThinkThins, I needed to counteract that w something fibrous, so I went for the "muencher salat" - greens w pickled cabbage/cukes, mustardy potatoes, carrots, grilled shrimpies - it was massive. And I really mean that. I can just effing put away greens and even I had to take some home. Fresh, not bad. The butternut squash mash I also hit was less successful - buttery but bland? Between the dim incandescents, accordion background music, and the hearts delicately carved in the wooden benches on which we perched, overall, it was stuck pretty hard in 1987. That said, per our waiter, the winners are the wursts, which none of us sampled, so perhaps we didn't give it a fair try - and I do think that the beer alone is worth going for, esp if it ever gets warm enough that I don't have to leave my house in two sweaters, a vest, a down jacket, and my real coat, The Goose, and can lounge on their patio overlooking the Boost Mobile store. Din for three was ummmm $25/pp? I think? If you are looking to impress someone who's been to Germany and is dying for kielbasa, maybe look elsewhere? Like. Germany. If you just want to get krunk and oogle the lady bartender's ample breasts or male server's seductive calves, depending on your sexual preference, both of which are on display as a result of the aforementioned leiderhosen, it's a win. I'm sure TH will make me come back. Side note - don't check out their menu if you're in a meeting and for some reason you're dying to see what the fraulein in the kitchen is prepping as VERY assertive polka will come blaring out. Win for Team Newman when this occurred.

Great place for German food and beer. Great go to spot for large families getting together. The experience in the restaurant is like no other, especially around Christmas. Beer garden is definitely a spot to hit during the warmer months.

The Kase Spatzle, Nurnberger Bratwurst, and beer sampler were delectable! I thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers the next day.

This is the best German food I have ever had. I am not even kidding. The best. Ever. I would even call this one of my favorite restaurants if not for the fact that I'm in New York and may not get a chance to eat here again. But damn it was good. The atmosphere is awesome. There are all of these authentic looking cuckoo clocks on the walls. The waiters are all dressed up in adorable costumes. The place is roomy and large so no one feels cramped in. Of course its the food and drinks that make it. I had the gluhwein which is a hot mulled wine, kind of hard to describe if you've never had it. It came with an orange slice and a sugar mixing stick. We shared a pretzel which was huge and came with two different dipping sauces and crab stuffed mushrooms. For the entree I had the Bavarian platter and had no regrets. It let me try a little bit of everything and I liked everything I tried. The sauerkraut was delicious. There were several different brats and schnitzels and it was just good. The other platters and schnitzels all looked great as well and it was a hard choice. The only thing I will note is that this place is probably not the best for vegetarians. Which I would think is a given considering its German food. But yeah. If I'm ever in the area I will be back!

So I recently went on a trip to Germany and this place brought back memories. The beer selection is amazing. The food is spot on. I had the Wiener schnitzel with red cabbage and potatoes. It was really good. I also washed it down with a good Franziskaner Weissbier. The staff and service was great. Awesome atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

I have had some disappointments with the food now and again but their German beer selection is top notch, in fact, I'd say stellar top notch. The beers range from up North in Cologne, Warstein, the major brands from Munich and a few others from around Bavaria. The prices are fairly reasonable given the fact that the beers are all imported. I spent the late afternoon one day sampling about four of their major brands on tap, I was not disappointed their beer tap system is pretty good. If you have an interest in German beer, I'd say this is one of the places you should definitely go.

Best German food in the area. I take my father here every Father's Day. They do up a real nice menu and are always super friendly.

You can get discounted giftcards from Costco, which saves you 20%. This is very authentic German food, my husband is first gen German American and says it is just like his grandma's cooking. The pretzel is awesome. If you like sausage, schnitzel and spaetzle you will love this authentic beirhaus.

Matthew and I had lunch here and it was all decked out for the holiday. Very cozy place with service that was friendly but a bit slow. We started with the baked french onion (was ok, not the greatest). I then had the schnitzel berliner--it was described as having onions and grilled apple slices but I really couldn't find apple slices, so I wasn't thrilled with it. The spatzle was delish but the side of vegetable of the day--butternut squash--was forgettable. Matthew had the traditional wiener schnitzel and that was the big hit. Although i wasn't wowed this time, I'd try the bratwurst on our next visit.

A companion and I visited on a Saturday lunch time, in order to use up some gift cards we had been given, to find the restaurant very lightly busy. The hostess and waitstaff were absolutely phenomenal (and adorable in their outfits!). They got everything about our orders 100% right and went above and beyond the call to make us comfortable. No need to ASK for bread and butter, they offered, and they immediately responded to requests for refills or a reheat of my tea water. They also answered all questions about the menu and the items on it. The biergarten was beautiful and clearly well tended (and this coming from someone who spent years working at a garden center so I know a hard-worked garden when I see one). The interior was clean and comfortable, including the ladies room. Unfortunately, I had a less impressive experience with the food. I came hoping for honest-to-goodness galumpki and pierogis, which I have not had (other than frozen ones from a grocery store, which don't count) since my Polish grandmother passed away. They have many platters and combo dishes on their menu but none that included just these two items so I ordered each from the individual appetizer menu, instead. My companion order the wiener schnitzel with goulash, steak fries and the seasonal vegetable (mixed squash and carrots). Everything meant to be hot was only luke warm at best: my tea water, the vegetables, the goulash, the galumpki and the steak fries. The vegetables were also overcooked. The steak fries were not crispy, as we would have preferred, and the goulash only had two pieces of beef in it, though the spicy-hearty taste of the tomato base was otherwise nice. Had it been properly heated it would have been more enjoyable. The biggest disappointment was the pierogi. The waitress brought to my table not a plate of real, sauteed and boiled cheese-and-potato pockets of goodness, but potato-and-cheese fritters. They had been fried and served attractively with sour cream. I'm sure they would have tasted fine to someone into that sort of thing but that was NOT what I had ordered. I had come to place meant to be an authentic eastern European restaurant for an authentic eastern European dish. Having hoped so strongly to find real pierogi again, I was, admittedly, crushed. The waitress saw my horror and kindly took it back and omitted it from our bill, bless her. The galumpi tasted very good, though, and my companion heartily enjoyed the rye bread we were served, although it didn't look any different than a store-bought loaf to my eyes. One more positive note, they serve a bowl of thick-cut, possibly house-made potato chips with a side of thick, rich (also house-made?) onion dip as an appetizer. Those did taste wonderful! One other item worth noting, the gift cards we had have stickers on them clearly labeling "Not valid on alcoholic products". We didn't really care one way or another, but why have gift cards that can't be used the same as cash? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? The bottom line: I would happily return to this restaurant to spend a good time in a great atmosphere with family and friends but I would stick to drinks, myself.

The food was outstanding. The beer was authentic Pilsner and what beer is supposed to taste like. I had the bread pudding for dessert and it was very good too.

Closest thing to Deutschland I have ever Got the schnitzel Lichtenstein with späetzel and the best butternut squash I've ever had. Authentic German music and waiters in lederhosen. So awesome! Will definitely need to go back in the spring and check out their outdoor biergarten.

Now for those who might not be familiar with this spot this one has all the stuff you'd expect from a German Place but even more than the person might've imagined. For beginners the apps are very good whether be the brats or shrimp or surprisingly escargot. Now the entrees are worth the money & in my case I had their version of surf & turf but the overall entrée was I'd admit true but with the spice & flavors they had in this in both the fillet mignion & crab meat with the spicy sauce & herbs & rice with this & veggies made up for the size bit because in a sense I thought the surf & turf was a little smaller than I expected but overall the atmosphere & server (Bob) made up for this. Another bit that helped get this the rank even though you'd think I had issues was for their selection of beers I thought were very great & had the unique German beers out of Germany & another surprise plus was this spot actually sells cigars & has an area on their patio you can actually smoke with no issues. To top all of it off during certain times of the year they also bring in bands to rock the place out & better believe all it took for me was the right track & they nailed it on the head. Not bad & if you're wondering did they earn it I think for the reasons explained you'll see why if you come here.

Delicious!!!! I want the goulash recipe, it has some heat but the flavor is amazing. Too afraid to try it? Don't be, think of a nice little cup of chili but better. I had the potato soup which was really good, but I'd get goulash next time. For apps we got the frogs legs and escargot. The escargot had a beautiful earthy cream sauce smothering it and the mushrooms. It really was delicious but both hubby and i would get the frogs legs again. The sauce on the legs tasted like a nice piccata with sun dried tomatoes. We loved this dish. Lastly for mains we got the rabbit and the apricot duck. The rabbit was a wonderful comforting dish. The meat was very tender and was dripping flavor. The reisling cream sauce was very mild and didn't have a ton of flavor but it worked well here. The duck was cooked to absolute perfection. The sauce was again light in flavor but worked really well. We loved both dishes with the spatzle. Get the spatzle, it's great! Red cabbage is also highly recommended by hubby. All in all though, don't do what we did, don't order so much food it hurts. Portions are large here. We rolled home last night quite happy and stuffed.

Outstanding example of a great German restaurant. The Wursts and Schnitzels are outstanding. The Wild Game dishes that show up as specials are very well done and worth trying out. Some more subtile dishes like Chicken Reisling are availiable for those who don't wish go home smelling of saurkraut and sausage (not that that's a bad thing) The beer selection is what you would expect in a german restaurant. Staff is friendly and the traditional folk wear adds to the authentic experience, as does the german music playing throughout the place. This is a must visit establishment if you are in the area!

Munich Haus is amazing! The house made chips come with the best sauce EVER. Order the giant pretzel as well. It's imported straight from Germany! This place is legit. The waitstaff is so friendly and knowledgable. The owner, Pat, stopped by to see how our experience was and was great! I honestly will be back every time I am in Chicopee.

Great German beer selection, Spaten Dark was the way to go... also has Bud and Coors Lite for the ignorant among us... only bad thing glasses too small but we are in US where big glasses are against the law... so much for living "free" Had the cream of mushroom soup as an appetizer which was nice and creamy. The Schnitzel was a bit disappointing the breading had little seasoning and the meat had been pounded too much making it way too thin. The 2 sides of red cabbage and sauerkraut (dry) were ok. As desert the Apfel Strudel was out of this world... all apples a few raisins and NO cinnamon... just the German way it should be... :) The service was great, ask for Katie she really knows her STUFF!! Certainly look forward to eat here again when I am back in the area.

Consistently good German-American food (not to be confused with the food found in Germany!). Friendly staff, healthy portions and a very good selection of beers from Germany on tap. The one thing they don't really serve is bread (rye bread is by request and by the slice only!), but their pretzel, although not cheap, is a keeper! Both the house salad and the (spicy) Hungarian Goulash Soup are excellent starters too. It's best to make a reservation, especially on weekend evenings when it often gets quite busy.

We come here every year for a convention and the place never disappoints! The platters are amazing. A taste of Germany in MA! We love this place! Coming here is a highlight of visit. Authentic German food and beer at reasonable prices. What's there not to love about this place!

Was in the area with some friends to celebrate a birthday and decided to give this place a try. What a pleasant surprise!!!! This is the first time I had German food and if this is what German food should taste like I should move over to Germany. Everything was delicious. There were so many choices I didn't know which one to choose. The pretzel crusted scallops was to die for and it I wouldn't be a eating at a German restaurant if I didn't get my schnitzel. Yummy. Service was spectacular and those cute little outfits the waitress was wearing didn't spoil the views at all. Somehow the waitress overheard that we had a birthday and surprised the birthday customer with a slice of cake on the house with complimentary music to boost. Definitely would return to this piece of heaven in Chicopee.

Great food and great service! This was our first time here...We will make a trip for this place again! The fried pickles were wonderful. The atmosphere was nice and the restrooms clean. Hubby and I had German sample platters. The red cabbage was very very good and the wurst spaetzle and schnitzel are authentic!

Plenty to like at the Munich Haus, starting with the food itself. About as true and authentic as you can get. Many items, including the sausages are made right in house. Very reasonable prices. Well trained, properly outfitted waitstaff. There are a great number of events throughout the year. All you care to eat sausages out on the deck, The Hops Club beer dinners, Oktoberfest, Christmas celebrations with the Dan Kane singers, etc, etc. All in all, the Munich Haus has a lot to offer. Their newest addition, the outdoor deck is fantastic. Perfect compliment to what's already there. Seems to fit perfectly, and not some afterthought. Pick an event, stop in for dinner, go relax out on the deck, whatever you choose you will not be disappointed.

Beer good. Appetizers were just fried stuff. Kielbasa was pretty boring. I liked the speltzle and red cabbage and kraut. The wurst problem (pun intended) was the level of noise. It's noisy enough without a guy playing the accordion --and then he starts up and you can't here your tablemat s at all. Really unpleasant. The chocolate layer cake was dry. The raspberries and ice cream looked good. Unfortunately this meal did not go down well ; my hubby and I were up for hours with bad indigestion.

Some of the best German comfort food you can find on this side of the Atlantic! My sister loved the bratwurst with cabbage and sauerkraut , while I can't give big enough props to the giant pretzel with all the delicious dipping sauces. Their assortment of German brews is also pretty great, and I must recommend the hefeweizen with grapefruit juice that's currently on the summer menu. SO GOOD--light and refreshing! Not only is the food great, but the restaurant has a charming Bavarian vibe to the ambiance and the place is clean and well-maintained. Plus, the staff here goes above and beyond when it comes to friendliness and excellent service. Our server, C., was great!

Had a great dinner here last night. Parking is a bit of a drag - no lot of their own and the lots nearby you're not supposed to park in. My dining partner and I ended up parking our cars on the street. Nicole, our waitress was great - friendly and funny. I loved her description of the German Chocolate torte. "It's got caramel, chocolate, coconut... a fusion of delicious chocolately goodness." When she brought our desserts, she said, "Have at it!" But I'm jumping the gun a bit. I started with the escargots - delicious! They were different - coming on crostini with a creamy wine sauce with pine nuts and mushrooms. I would definitely get that again. Then I went with the Weiner Schnitzel with spätzle and sauerkraut and French Onion Soup. All of it was great - the spätzle was small pieces fried up in butter (definitely tasty but not exactly healthfood) and the sauerkraut was the best I've had - mild and slightly sweet. Maybe made with cider/cider vinegar? The soup was good and a bit larger than average. They have a whole page devoted to schnitzels... of of my favorite dishes. But most come covered in sauces and I like mine simple with lemon, which is the one I got. At the end of it all, we were pretty stuffed but then Nicole brought the dessert menu which has pictures! We couldn't decide so we went with two and shared - the torte that I mentioned above - super rich and covered in a thick fudgy ganache, and the apple strudel. The strudel was incredible - it comes with raisins which I liked but Nicole mentioned that it can sometimes put some people off, which was nice of her to warn us of. My dining partner exclaimed, "How is this moist AND flaky?" The place was not very busy (though the bar was full), being Memorial Day Sunday, so our dishes came out PERFECTLY timed after each other. I'll definitely be back but a trip to the gym is in order before / after!

We tried this restaurant for the first time recently and walked away pretty impressed. It presents as a traditional German restaurant complete with the waiters in traditional German costume. We sat at a table overlooking the deck near the centrally located bar. For an appetizer we split the pretzel and this thing was enormous! Very big and very good. It came out piping hot. I tried the salad with roquefort dressing and I loved the salad which, along with the traditional greens, contained small tasting portions of various other cold salads (potato, bean, cucumber...). The dressing was good but probably not worth the almost $2 upcharge. For an entree I tried the chicken schnitzel with spatzel and red cabbage. The chicken was pounded thin and very good although a little dry. I would have preferred it with some type of sauce. I was not a fan of the spatzel at all and found it very greasy but that is probably just personal preference as my husband devoured his! I thought the red cabbage was the most delicious part of the plate. My husband ordered the Bavarian Platter and licked it clean deeming the sausage the best part. Overall we had a very good experience and are looking forward to a return trip.

I'm so glad I don't live any closer in fear that I'd eat here every day and gain 300 pounds. I tried their Bavarian platter as an appetizer. We were a party of 7 and shared the platterr and an order of frog legs. Everything was hot, delicious, and fresh. The cheese balls were so gooey. The potato cakes were so crispy and flavorful. And the other stuff that I don't know the name for were all so good, I didn't use the sauces included because the flavors were all so good on their own. I ordered the Rahm Schnitzel. The schnitzel was prepared perfectly and I had it with spetzel. Oh my. The spetzel was so delicious, I feared that the person next to me heard me moan with each bite. I'm serious, it was that good. The schnitzel was covered with a delicious creamy white sauce that I would bottle up if I could. We ordered a piece of "chocolate chocolate cake" and it came with a scoop of ice cream. Usually chocolate ice cream, we asked for vanilla. That cake was so rich I could feel a cavity forming. And for the price of a mediocre desert at a chain restaurant, this piece of cake had 3 or 4 layers and was HUGE. Oh man, my stomach is grumbling just thinking about the deliciousness. Overall, the portions were huge, as with most German food. The price was very reasonable for the area and the amount and quality of food they offer. I couldn't finish my food and took the remainder home. It was just as good the next day. The service was fantastic. The waitress was very friendly and my glass of water wouldn't even get to half empty before it was filled again. The German attire the staff wears and the German music playing adds to the ambiance. We all came to the area specifically for this restaurant and I can see why it came so highly recommended. Come with an empty stomach and sweatpants. I'm kidding about the sweatpants, but it might not be a bad idea...

Ate here for the first time 2 weeks ago and had a total flashback to being in Europe. Ordered some Hungarian goulash soup which tasted almost exactly like what I've had in Budapest which was great since its impossible to find anything remotely authentic Hungarian in MA. Also had the wiener schnitzel which was excellent. Very flavorful and moist which was surprising as most of times wiener schnitzel tends to be dry. My only issue is when i came to eat for the second time the goulash tasted more like, and had the same consistency of American beef stew. Other than that, the food is great, the beer selection is outstanding and the service is quick and attentive. Eat here if you're in the area.

Whether it's a sit down dinner in the dining room with family, a bite & a beer in the bar, or a warm summer evening in the outdoor biergarten, this is THE spot for great food, great beer & great people.

5 stars because everything about the service was great, the only thing I will say- and I hope this gets to her- The hostess last night, 10/12, really took a toll on my experience at the Munich Haus.. She was very stressed and rude. The place was very busy, yes, but even though all of the waitresses seemed stressed, they didn't seem rude. Our waitress was amazing and we witnessed the hostess put her down many times, as well as talk to her while she was trying to take our order. Oh, and even though she clearly was annoyed with everything she had to do- she had the time to give a little kid she knew a loud piggy back ride through the hallways? Unprofessional. She needs to learn what customer service is and how to handle busy times.

Went for the first time on New Years Eve. Parking is tough; was able to park in the small lot next to restaurant only because the bank there was closed. Restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Waitress was very helpful in recommending beers and food. Food was excellent! There was even entertainment during dinner-a gentleman walking around and playing songs on his accordian. It was a very nice evening... Definitely planning on going again.

I had a mostly enjoyable experience. When I arrived, there were 3 college kids doing shots at the bar. One went to the bathroom, then they all left very quickly. (Later on I went to the men's room and discovered why they had left so fast). I had the Polish special, which had some of the best pierogies and halupki; reminding me of my grammy's. I can't wait to come back when the outdoor patio is finished.

Authentic German Food that is so delicious. They had an extensive German beer list on tap. The spaetzle and schnitzel was very tasty, as were the quests. The table side prep of the Roquefort dressing was appealing and the extras went well with the homemade chips that's came when we sat down. Only downside, the Black Forest cake was heavier on whipped cream than cake. Can't wait to go back.

My girlfriend took me here on a Friday night. There was no wait, but there was a good amount of patrons at the bar, and at tables. A very balanced amount of commotion. There was also a large function going on in the back, we found out. Our servers name was Amy. She was very friendly, and attentive. An all around outstanding server. Any unusual questions I asked about the food (a first time german food eater) she was able to answer. And if she didn't know, she went to the kitchen to ask. I'm not a huge beer drinker, I prefer ciders. They being a german food restaurant and bar, don't really carry ciders. They only had 3 domestic beers. And ciders (they use angry cider) are available in certain seasons, but they didn't have it yet. She recommended the honey weiss. A beer I'll be fantasizing about for a long time. A weiss beer (whatever that means. Is that a brand?) Mixed with a honey liqueur in a big tall glass. Ice cold. It was delicious. The meal starts off with (house made I'm assuming) potato chips. Not warm unfortunately. That would have been the best. And a horseradishy dip. Much better than chips and salsa! We got the german fried cheese (small pieces of german cheese fried like a mozzarella stick type) with a honey mustard dipping sauce. A great balance. I got the bavarian platter as my meal, waaay too much to eat for one sitting. Although I could've forced myself too, because it was so delicious. But I wanted to enjoy it again, so I took it home for lunch the next day. (I had to save room for dessert) It had dishes I love like sauerkraut, and red cabbage, and many things I had never tried, and loved! My girlfriend got a weiner schnitzel. I got her to venture outside her comfort zone. She's a much less adventurous eater than I am. She loved it, but wished it had some sort of sauce like my dish had. For dessert we got the german chocolate torte. Amy said it was made in house, but it didn't seem it. It WAS delicious. But didn't seem homemade. It also had coconut creme in it with bits of coconut, but didn't say it had that in the description. One wouldn't assume chocolate cake to have coconut, so not a dumb mistake on our part. Neither my girlfriend or I like coconut. So it took away from the dessert, but wasn't awful. The cake itself was rich, dense, and oh so chocolately with chocolate frosting. It left you wanting a tall glass of milk. All in all we both loved it very much, and will definitely be back!

We enjoyed quite the two and a half hour leisurely dinner here and at the bar no less, which I would imagine was not quite as comfortable as some of the booths around us. I was really impressed with the the decor of the bar, pressed tin ceiling was cool. The faux flowers and other things just made the room look cluttered not super. We had both a gift certificate and a resturant.com coupon so we were living it up with this meal. Started with the frog legs and the escargot platter. Both came with a white wine based sauce that complemented the dishes well. Escargot was not over cooked and chewy which was my worry. Frog legs were meaty and flavorful, only the second time I had them anywhere and would recommend them as something different. Also complimentary chips and dip were a nice change of pace to balance the sauces with our apps. Sampled at least 4 of the German beer options. The only things that are not German on their tap line are Paper City Products so that bumps them up in my book for sure. All beers were served in big portions. Yet another reason to stretch this meal out. And I thought very reasonably priced about $6 or each big mug. Entrees I got the Black board special beef with a mustard sauce and she got the Paprika Schnitzel. Both dinners come with a veg and potato side and a soup or salad. Got both the house salad and the lentil soup as starters and were really pleased with both. Not a typical house salad with the addition of some pickled veg. Both meals were good and we left with hearty portions for another day. Did not venture into the dessert menu, though some around us did. Nothing looked too amazing. I thought some of the items on the menu were kinda strange. Certainly the seafood items. I guess they are trying to branch out to a different group. I think we'd give this place another try with a gift card and coupon you can't lose.

OK, the staff is great. I can't say the same about the food, the chips and potato pancakes are great! Stay away from the steak... Overall nice place!

Phenomenal!...at least, the all-u-can-eat sausage dinner every Thursday night! So, I've heard a fair amount of things about Munich Haus and knew it was gonna be a pricy feast for all you sausage lovers. But, I was in for a shock when I learned that all of the amazing German goodness was available for 3 hours for only $10.95!!! My friends and I engorged ourselves with 20+ different sausages with all manners of free salads, 'fixin's, and warm, delicious sauerkraut. While my arteries may clog for a couple more years after this meal, it was totally worth it. And don't get me started on the great beer selection. I may not know about this place's regular menu, but if you're out with a bunch of friends on a Thursday night and don't know where to eat? Come here!!!

My first time here this past weekend. The boy and I came in about 8 Saturday night and were immediately seated at a table near one of the windows. My first impression was how loud the restaurant was! I'm from Jersey so I'm used to loud italian restaurants. I was not expecting that at a German one. Maybe it was the accordion players music that forced everyone to talk, nay yell, to their dining companions. But I digress, this should be about the food too right? We ordered drinks, a Spatan dark for him and I ordered one of the special fall martinis. Alas, they were out of it. The waitress also informed me that they do not have much in the way of flavored vodka, basically just raspberry. Sigh. Fine. Drinks came and he loved his beer. While we pondered the menu, we received these great potato chips with a dill dip. That dip was phenomenal. We had to ask for more actually it was that good. We started off with the escargot which I'm sure was frozen but the garlic butter sauce it came in was really great. I would absolutely order that again. I ordered the polish platter so that I could get a taste of everything and he ordered the pretzel haddock. His came with a choice of soup and he had the spicy goulash. I can't say I ever had goulash before so I have nothing to compare it to but it was good. Had a nice spice to it. Reminded me of a standard beef stew. Our entrees arrives and my platter was just as big as I thought it would be. Pierogi, golumpki, kielbasa, sauerkraut, red cabbage, spaetzle and a pork chop. The pierogi was fried (Weird) and had the outside consistency of crab rangoon from a chinese restaurant which was strange. Delicious but strange. The golumpki was great. Full of meat and the cabbage was very tender. The kielbasa didn't look like any kielbasa I had ever seen. It was a light color, definitely not red like what you find in a supermarket. Have I been eating faux kielbasa all these years? This was delicious. Great snap from the casing and I could tell there were a lot of spices mixed in the meat. Both the cabbage and sauerkraut were great. The pork chop was dry and tough. I brought that home to give to my dogs. They loved it. The spaetzle was great. Very moist and doughy. The boy loved his fish so much it was gone before I could have a bite! Overall, good food (minus the pork chop). I'd give it another whirl and hope it wasn't so loud next time.

I was in the mood for German food and found this place on Yelp. This area is not big on Yelping and unfortunately the few that do don't know fresh food. Everything I ordered tasted like it was not freshly made and microwaved. I got the schnitzel platter and all were pounded way too thin and tough like leather with unmemorable gravies. The Spaetzle was pretty good-tossed with bread crumbs. The Munich sampler was just a bunch of oily fried stuff which all seemed to taste the same except the sauerkraut balls which stood out but not in a good way. Clearly not much attention is paid to the food in this large Epcot-looking German place. The sampling of wursts I tried were also not memorable. A disappointing experience. The waitress was nice.

Dinner was delicious. I gambled on pickle soup (dill pickle and potato), which was fun. My wyf played it safe with a salad which had pickled morsels in it and it was great. I had the schnitzel Berliner (apples & onions). Yummy. My wyf had the Rahm schnitzel 'which was delicious.' The grapefruit beer (yes, you read that right) paired nicely with the savory dishes, but less so with the cream sauce. We finished dinner with the German Chocolate Torte. A bit dry but good flavor. Overall a good meal, but service needs a bit more attention. Service was slow. We didn't have a server until I asked someone else to check on it to take our order Even after she showed up things were slow. We were definitely out of her area and had no follow up.

Visited with my husband, SIL and BIL, mother and step-dad. My step dad served in Germany for years after WW2 and stated that this was one of the best German meals he had had at a restaurant in the states. Pleasant service and certainly ample portions. The schnitzel was wonderfully thin, the sauerbratten was so tender it practically fell apart on the plate, and the sausage was flavorful and cooked perfectly. We didn't have room for dessert, but hopefully will leave more room next time!

Make a reservation! We rocked up on Saturday night at 5:30 convinced that we would have our pick of tables. Boy, were we wrong! They took pity on us (after I begged) and gave us a table for 1 hour. I am so grateful they did! It was fun and loud and we really enjoyed the food!

well it is very german looking, and that includes the wait staff attire, must be pretty neat when the beergarden is open in warmer weather, we ate at the bar, place was pretty busy, had a nice selection of german beers, we had the pretzel (hugh) for an appetizer and brought some home, we both has schnitzel and they were both very good, salad was aslo very good and the roguefort dressing was outstanding!!!

During a recent trip home, I visited the Munich Haus twice. The first time was with 20 family members. Both the service and the food were stellar. The jagerschnitzel was very tender while the jager sauce was silky and full of mushroom flavor. It pared nicely with the mashed potatoes. The red cabbage had just the right amount of vinegar bite. It was so good that I returned for lunch a couple of days later for the rahm schnitzel. Again, perfectly cooked with a very nice white sauce. This time I had the spatzel which I loved. My mother had the chicken jager style and she was very impressed with both the preperation and the sauce. This place is as good as it gets for outstanding German food, great service and really reasonable prices.

Four stars for my first soiree with German cuisine in Western Massachusetts, no less. I'm from way, way northeast of the area, and Chicopee is the furthest west I've ever been, and this restaurant delivered pretty decently. It was a beautiful 65-70 degree day, so we chose to dine outside. The parking sucks, but it's okay. The way the building is situated is kind of odd, but it's okay. The music is a bit jarring, kind of like Epcot's idea of what kind of music would play in a German restaurant, but it's okay. (Well...not exactly.) The food is more than okay, but not stand-out stellar. The hand-cut potato chips are nice, but the dip makes this pre-appetizer. We decided on Frog Legs "Provencal" to start. Of course there was that person at that table who had to be "that guy" -- the one cringing, making faces, and really wary of the whole "frog legs" idea..."that guy" was my boyfriend. I'll try anything once (I've eaten fried ants, come on) and eating a frog leg does not sound like the most exotic, outlandish thing in the world. They were served fried, nearly lost under a sort of dressing/gravy consistency sauce featuring capers, peppers, hints of wine, and onions, but still delicious. Bony, and yes -- they tasted just like chicken. Yum! The boyfriend and I split a Parmigian Shnitzel dinner, which came to $17.95 and included choice of a soup or salad (we went with Hungarian Goulash, slightly spicy but nice) and choice of side (fries, mashed potatoes, and I honestly forget the other one, but we went with mashed potatoes) and nabbed a chicken bratwurst appetizer just in case the shnitzel wasn't enough for the both of us. Our friend got the Paprika Shnitzel. I kind of regret getting the Parmagian, only because I played it safe by ordering this entree! I grew up eating Italian and my parents are famous around town for their chicken parm subs, so it didn't taste too "German" to me...but boy, it was delicious. I rarely like ANY red sauce that isn't my mother's, but the sauce, which the menu specifies as a house sauce, was absolutely delicious. Great entree, and very filling. Our friend also enjoyed his hot and spicy entree. I'd definitely come here again. It's piqued my interest in German food. Unfortunately/fortunately, I don't come to western Mass at all, so I'll just have to venture off and find some more German places to try in my part of town. Auf wiedershen!

We ate here for the second time this summer, on the way home to Boston from Tanglewood. Last night was a beautiful evening, and we sat out in the biergarten. The first time, we sat in the cute, if somewhat "kitchy" dining room. Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent value. What more could you want? The menu has many choices, primarily German/Eastern European (which is why we come here, right?) and a fantastic selection of beer on tap. Everything seems to be home cooked, well-seasoned, and delicious. This time, we left some room for dessert--a disappointing Black Forest Cake. Next time, I'll try the strudel.

Great food and service. Beers were awesome and portions were big. Been there twice and can't wait to go back. So much better than the hofbrahaus. Lively atmosphere with a band outside and an accordion player inside. Extensive menu with so many choices. Try the frog legs!

Wow. GREAT German food...large portions, including a variety of schnitzels (all of which can be ordered using pork or veal) and wursts. The beer selection is outstanding too. If you like German food, this place is the real thing.

Spaetzle! Buttery, herby spaetlze! Little potatoey dabs of goodness! Piled alongside on my Bavarian platter were a couple yards of wursts, jaegerschnitzel, sauerbraten and potato pancake, plus a couple of vegetables I forgot to leave room for. Part of forgetting to leave room started with a couple of bowls of home-made potato chips and dip, plus a cup of spicy, thick, meaty goulash, and a thick slice of heavy German bread. I did, however, manage to leave room for a perfectly charred creme brulee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. All of this was washed down with an icy tankard of real German Warsteiner bier. Sweetie enjoyed the scallops, but enjoyed the salad even more. She shared the creme brulee and ice cream. Accordions and tubas oom-pah-pahed and waiters lederhoesened to a fare-thee-well. We loved every gemuetlich minuten!

Top of the line all the way around. I have never had a disappointing meal. Consistency should be the mantra at the Munich. The atmosphere is outstanding, its like your in Germany, the waitresses outfits, music, decor, and excellent selection of German beers is the topper. This place is by far the best German restaurant in the area. 5 stars!!

Great German food. Quite filling especially complimented with a pint. Only downfall would be parking and it gets quite busy. Also they have a gentleman with an accordion walking around which helps with the atmosphere although some of the tunes were old children's songs. But all in all highly recommend it.

My husband and I were looking for a Polish/German style restaurant and found this gem on Yelp, gave it a whirl and got both. Wow - not disappointed!!! We'll definitely drive the 35 miles again!! The ambience was reminiscent of a German biergarten with outdoor and indoor tables. The staff was great and the food . . . wunderbar!!! Their homemade sausages rocked! I had the Polish platter and my husband had a cup of the Hungarian Goulash soup and the Bavarian platter (we both took some home). The beer selection was huge and reasonably priced. Sadly there was absolutely no room for dessert!! But next time . . . a better plan! I would have given this place 5 stars had it not been for the pierogi on my Polish platter. It was a deep fried cheese and potato dumpling that was unusually chewy. I've never had them fried and wouldn't want to have it again. Aside from this misstep, I'll happily return to this little bit of Bavaria here in New England!!!

I am pretty sure my boyfriend contemplated leaving me for spaetzle at various times throughout our meal, but I still give the Munich Haus 4 stars. The Munich Haus was suggested to us by my boyfriend's mother. Now, I must note that while I grew up eating spicy and dynamic dishes cooked by women on both the Italian and Indonesian sides of my family; my boyfriend lists toast as one of his favorite foods. So there is quite the underlying difference in food preference. Still, I was excited at the prospect of the food as we parked in the small lot a few doors down and made our way to the restaurant. There is outdoor seating which was not open due to rain, and possibly, it being 7:00 at night. Oom-pah music was playing on the speakers on that patio. (Yay!) But too soft to hear once inside. (Boo!) The restaurant itself is decently large and the German cuckoo clocks on the wall reminded me of those at my oma's house. The waitress, dressed in traditional German garb, dropped off homemade potato chips and dip and gave us a few minutes to peruse the menus. The beer menus had some weisses and pilsners and lagers and I opted for the latter. The food menu boasted schnitzel in various forms: paprikash, parmigiana, standard, etc. Being the spice lover (and without much choice in a German restaurant) I chose the former: paprikash. The meal came with a salad and your choice of sides such as sauerkraut (sweet); mashed potatoes; fries; or mixed vegetables. The salad was tasty with the pickled cucumbers; sauerkraut and black and red beans. Boyfriend raved about it at least half a dozen times (toast, people). The schnitzel was served as two giant pieces of fried pork with a good amount of sauce. I was pretty pleased, but I wish I was hungrier. I think I made it through about one piece. Alongside the schnitzel came a healthy serving of spaetzle which was soft and tasted deliciously fattening. Great with beer. I would give this place another try. Maybe opt for a chicken dish so I can indulge in dessert without fear of exploding.

This is my favorite local place. The food is delicious and there is a great German beer selection. The atmosphere is great, whether you want a nice dinner inside or are looking for a more casual scene at the Beer Garden outside. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about all of their food and each of the different German beers. During the summers they do grill night, $15 for an all you can eat buffet of delicious German food including all their house made sausages! This place is a Chicopee gem!

I really enjoy german food and Munich Haus might be the best german restaurant I've ever eaten at. I guess german cuisine isn't very "correct" these days but this area might have more german restaurants than new york city. munich haus is the stand out. just back from one of their octoberfest celebrations! tremendous selection and extremely high quality food. The schnitzels are always my favorite here..they have a schnitzel platter that is just excellent. their roast pork offerings are always tasty. the spaetzle is the best ever--tasted very buttery and delicious. sausages, meatballs and the sauerbraten all are home runs. Sure they have a great beer selection...but their amazing food is what sets it apart. when the restaurant is crowded parking can be a problem...and seating can sometimes get a tad crowded. eat a light breakfast..skip lunch and arrive hungry! the friendly waitresses will guide you through the menu.

My home is in Brooklyn, NY. Years ago, we stumbled across The Munich Haus. Since then, every time we pass through the area, we make it a point to stop for lunch at The Munich Haus. The waitresses and friendly and efficient. The bratwurst is really good. The venue is comfortable and inviting. The beers specials on tap are very good, and in some cases, exceptional. My younger son has a taste for good sausage, any time we are in the area, he asks if we can have lunch at The Munich Haus. I'm more than happy to oblige him. We are huge fans!

If Munich Haus had frequent flyer miles, we would be eating there for free right now. We're regulars. Make SURE you attend one of their special dinners. They have monthly Wed. night beer dinners and other special events featuring a buffet (often with a roasted pig) for a great price. Check their website for details. Great selection of German beer here. They have 2 or 3 tap specials that change several times a year, which keeps it interesting. Favorites: Bavarian pretzel cucumber salad Roquefort dressing Goulash soup Nurnburger Wurstchen sausage smoked kielbasa red cabbage sauerkraut Jaeger schnitzel their Pretzel burger special, which is insanely good Polish plate German meatballs with egg noodles For a good light meal, try the appetizer 'Any sausage with kraut'. It comes with rye bread. Their Saturday night chef does more justice to the food than their Friday-night chef, for some reason. Not that it stops us from visiting on Friday nights...

This place is awesome. The quality of the food is fantastic and the appetizers are very good. When it gets busy the service can get a little slow, but the free chips and dip and great appetizers keep you busy. honestly, by the time the Entrees came out I was almost full. I'm not usually one to take home leftovers but I definitely had schnitzel for breakfast the day after. It's a great place but I've heard rumors of an obnoxious accordion player that can be a little over the threshold of tolerable but he wasn't there when I was so i thought the atmosphere was very fun and friendly. Get some schnitzel or sausage... or anything, as the cooks seem to know what they're doing. definitely get an appetizer (fried cheese). Avoid the cocktails.

Wow. Good service, excellent food. The spaetzle was delicious, as was the saurkraut (sweet and not bitter like many out there). There is a great patio outside too, a nice place to enjoy a summertime dinner.

Fantastic German food with great service. Since it was a nice day we sat outside and had a nice view of Chicopee City Hall. As can be expected, LOTS of beer to choose from to go with great food. I got the Bavarian platter which was a little bit of everything. I especially loved the potato pancakes. And make sure you leave room for dessert - their cookies are awesome! My favorite was the Chocolate Chip stuffed with Chocolate Truffle.

As my wife and I both grew up in Germany we enjoyed this restaurant immensely. Like every country recipes tend to vary by region and the style of gravies used here differed from what we are used to. With that said the first bite of the side salad was like an explosion of memories in my mouth. This style of salad may not appeal to everyone but my wife and I loved it. Get your dressing on the side (I recommend the vinaigrette). The goulash soup was, while spicy, worth it. My wife and I could (and did the second night) make a meal out of the salad and soup. A nice atmosphere and decent service was a treat as well.

It's a shame really. Generally we love this place. Great German beer, friendly people, the country's best burger and the loveliest fraulines in mass. Unfortunately this place is unable to produce quality during volume. Avoid when busy. Go to the hofbrauhouse instead. The place is stellar off peak and I would recommend it then. Today oct 4th 2013 I ordered hacker pschorr Oktoberfest and was given the wrong beer. It seems likely they had the wrong keg connected. The fries I was given were obviously old but I was cheerfully lied to about how they had "just come out of the fryolator. Giving the wrong beer and being unable to tell is a cardinal sin for this kind of beer bar. The place also seems to be whites only. It sure would be nice to see some diversity here but we suspect some folks are subtly discouraged...

Munich Haus was my first experience with German food and I must say, I am very impressed. It has a great atmosphere and the waitresses wear the cute German barmaid outfits. The appetizers are phenomenal. They were probably my favorite part of the meal. Instead of bread, they give you homemade potato chips and dip and keep bringing out more. We got the fried cheese. Do I really need to say any more? It's fried cheese. Of course it was delicious. We also decided to be a little adventurous and order the fried alligator. Yes fried alligator. And before you knock it down, let me just say that it is actually very good. I would like to describe the texture as a combination of chicken and fish. It was very tender and moist. I would definitely order that again. For my entree, I ordered the Bavarian platter and OH MY GOD there was so much food. There were two different kinds of brats, a potato pancake, sauerkraut (white and red), some beef thing that was awesome, and jaeger schnitzel. Needless to say, when I was finished, it looked as though I hardly made a dent in my food. The leftovers are definitely going to be another full meal for me. Overall, it was great experience and I am now a fan of German food!

I must admit I only ate lunch here one time but I thought it was a really fun atmosphere and the food was excellent (and extremely well priced). We ate out on the patio which was a nice experience. I ordered a lunch special which had a salad with it that was absolutely excellent! The house dressing has a sort of brown sugar quality to it that is totally addictive. The service was great too (though they refused to tell me what was in the complimentary dip that comes out with a bowl of chips prior to your meal, I guess they are taking that one to the grave)

Horrible...LIKE NIGHT AND DAY.....the difference of our 5 star dinner of a couple of weeks ago, and our supremely crappy lunch of today. 3 stars is pushing it, I'm really leaning toward 2 stars! ........ (later in this review, I did change it to only 2 stars!) We were on our way to a late breffie elsewhere and thought, "oooh, lets go here for lunch instead!, it was so awesome last time!" Big mistake. BIG. We had the same French Onion Soup (and asked for extra chz since they are greedy with it), but the soup itself wasn't very warm, certainly not piping hot. It was decent, but ran out of cheese long before soup was gone. We had the same salads with the Roquefort dressing. Not bad. Not Awesome. Lettuce was wilted.....Then....The sandwiches. He ended up taking his home, but I'd be willing to bet, it won't get eaten (it was a schnitzel Rueben wrap, one of their 'specials'. sounded good. looked gross. and the wrap should have been heated or grilled or something, but just looked doughy and yucky. I ordered the tuna melt. When it came, it was sitting in a little lake of white liquid, like it had been sitting a while b4 it was picked up. I tried to eat it but it was soooo soggy underneath. and it had American cheese on it, which was weird, since melts always have Swiss unless otherwise specified. But whatever. So the waitress asked if i wanted a new one (to her credit, she was nice and polite, altho it was only her 3rd day working as a waitress). So...a few minutes later, she brings me out a new one. Now, at least this one was hot, but as i took one bite, the amount of liquid squirting out the other side was ridiculous, and it was already getting soggy! I then slightly squeezed the sandwich, and a steady stream of white watery substance came pouring out. It literally looked as if the tuna had been made days earlier, you know how the mayo starts to separate? Cuz this wasn't just that there was too much mayo (as the manager tried to say later....she claims they 'made it this morning but maybe they didn't drain the can enough, or put too much mayo). I've worked in enough restaurants, and eaten enough tuna fish in my life, this was not mayo oozing out......anyway, after a few seconds, my plate was a lake of 'white water'...maybe i should have gone rafting instead! LOL Needless to say, that one got sent back too and taken off the bill. They shouldn't have charged me for my salad either but they did (if they were trying to make it up to us, plus my salad was supposed to come WITH the sandwich, so if they didn't charge for the sandwich, they shouldn't have charged for the salad, right?) Upon further reflection, I am changing the rating to 2 stars....3 is just too many. I just cannot, in good conscience, send any of my yelper friends up here when I can no longer vouch for it's "awesomeness''. We doubt we will ever go back, especially when the Hoffbrau Haus is closer and yummier. What a letdown! It was like we were in a totally different restaurant, other than the fact we were sitting at the same table as last time! :o(

I love German food, grew up with it, lived in Austria and have spent a lot of time in Germany. I'm afraid that the meals my wife, friend and I had at Munich Haus left us disappointed. A good schnitzel should be tender and moist; a breaded Wienerschnitzel should have a crusty coating. Our schnitzels were all, thin, tough and dried out. Moreover, my Wienerschnitzel's coating was spare, dry and flavorless. I consider the schnitzels as a big let-down. The homemade spaetzle was excellent. The rotkohl was merely okay. The beer selections are excellent. The service was very good as is the atmosphere. But the food is a restaurant's centerpiece and, for us, Munich Haus just didn't pass muster.

Mmmmmmm.... yodelicious.... I'm a sucker for German restaurants, and have spent a fair amount of time in Bavaria-- so, we figured that the Munich Haus would be a great detour from a trip on the pike. Wasn't sure what to expect, but pretty much expected kitsch based on descriptions of servers in German attire with oompah music in the background. (Fine with me, I don't mind kitsch, but it's not always correlated with an equal attention to food) So, was pleasantly surprised to find that although yes, there was oompah music, and yes, the attire was rather, um, thematic, the overall atmosphere was relatively subdued and quiet, even somewhat cozy on a frigid winter's night. We ordered drinks, and a bavarian platter and a käse spätzle. Interestingly (or worryingly) the käse spätzle has been taken off the menu-- but after a quick check, our server determined that the kitchen could still make it (yay) (Incidentally: **warning, vegetarians** the käse spätzle was pretty much the only thing that's not meat or fish on the menu, and the fish items don't appear to be among the more inspired/german-style items. I think there's also a vegetable penne pasta option, so you might not be stuck eating just potato chips and cucumber salad, but if they ever decide that they can't make the käse spätzle any more, your german-themed options will be essentially nil) Anyway, drank some draft erdinger dunkel and munched on their potato chips for a while, and before long a surprisingly nice salad with an even more surprisingly HUGE bowl of roquefort dressing arrived. (about as much dressing as salad?) Luckily it was on the side so it's not like the salad came swimming in it-- just thought it was kind of amusing how much salad dressing they provided. Bavarian plate and käse spätzle were both *excellent*. (In fact, the spätzle was even better than many I've had in Germany, since it had the cheese mixed in with some white sauce, rather than a big oily lot of melted cheese fried in with the spätzle; it was sort of like a german-inspired mac 'n cheese, I guess) Portions were huge-- could definitely make 2+ meals out of it. We didn't save room for dessert, but we ordered some anyway :) It was pretty good, though rather sweet for my taste. We definitely preferred this place to the Student Prince in Springfield-- overall fresher/less dusty feel to the food, nicer service. **** UPDATE: made a subsequent visit on a frigid winter night for some satisfying German style carbs :) (Did I mention that I also think their side salad is great?) It turns out that the Käsespätzle (which they were indeed able to make for me again by request) was taken off the menu because too many people had ordered it and decided that they didn't like it, so it just created too much hassle for them. :S It is indeed a very large portion of a very heavy dish-- but it's definitely not as cloying/oily as many renditions I've had in Germany, since they use a creamy sauce, rather than just a bunch of melted cheese. And hey, you'll get 2-3 meals of it. I suspect they might do well to offer it as a side, like having mac & cheese sides with meats. But for now I'm just hoping they keep allowing people to order it as a secret "off the menu" item :)

If you are up for a German-style meal, or you are feeling adventurous you should definitely take a ride down to Chicopee and try this gem out! They offer a variety of schnitzel and other German specialties, and have very friendly and attentive staff on hand. ...and I would definitely recommend deserts - they are scrumptious! yum!!

We dropped in today for a late lunch on our drive home from Upstate New York. Craving German food, our GPS showed us the way to the Munich Haus. The restaurant is located in downtown Chicopee. The restaurant decor has a kitschy Bavarian biergarten vibe: dark wood beams, cuckoo clocks everywhere, polka music, waitresses in Bavarian dresses. It reminded us of our time in Munchen a few years back. We were seated at a corner booth in the bar area. There are many Bavarian beers on tap. I ordered the Hacker-pschorr dunkel and my wife ordered the hefe-weizen ($4.95 for the small). For our meals, I ordered the paprika schnitzel ($7.99) and my wife had the jaeger schnitzel ($8.99). Both of us had the spaetzle and red cabbage for sides. The beers were delicious, and if I wasn't making the drive back to Boston, I would have loved to try another one. The meals come with a choice of soup or salad. I am never impressed with side salads, but this one was exceptional. The veggies were fresh, and there was a nice bean salad mixed in. The schnitzels were served with a brown gravy and bacon on mine, wild mushrooms on hers. The mushrooms were fresh and delicious. The brown gravy seemed a little tinny, which makes me suspect it was premade either in a can or from bouillon. The pork cutlet was crisp and not too greasy. The schnitzel was sauteed in butter and sprinkled with bread crumbs. The red cabbage was sweet and tangy, but a little sticky, as if the sauce was thickened with corn starch or flour. Overall, the Munich Haus has a great beer selection and decent hearty food and an incredible value. I would love to return to try the sausages, maybe they'll earn another star or two.

This place was great! Nice environment, delicious food, and a lot of bang for your buck! The classic weiner schnitzel was great, very tender and a wide assortment of sides. The waitresses wear lederhosen, which is fun, and they have good german beers on tap. Surprisingly, even though we got there around 8:30PM and the kitchen closes at 9, each course (appetizer, bread/salad, entree) were well spaced and we were not rushed at all. For the heavy eaters, the entree and sides were sufficient, and for the lighter eaters one entree was enough for dinner and then lunch the next day. There is a nice patio for outdoor seating in the summer, and a cozy environment inside. All in all, a nice dining experience. I will definitely be returning!

I live in Chicopee currently, and there is a real dearth of places to hang in Chicopee. Munich Haus is a small bright light. The servers are always so friendly and nice, ready with any suggestion for your fancy. The live music is always a good time especially on a nice night, though it can get crowded and difficult to find a place to sit. The drinks are great and very reasonably priced, as is the food. I recommend their giant pretzel and mustard, yum! Overall a nice place to kick back and hang on a summer's eve with some aperitifs or happy hour.

The Munich Haus is one of my family's favorite restaurants in Western Mass. They have great food at a reasonable price ($13 for broiled haddock which comes with a salad, mashed potatoes, and steamed vegetables), phenomenal beer and wine selection, and excellent service. The staff is dressed in German style lederhosen and is very attentive and provides some great recommendations from their extensive beer and wine list, as well as German style food. They have a lot of indoor seating with a private room in the back, as well as an outdoor biergarten. They really play up the German theme, by having an Oktoberfest celebration with live music from German bands, a pig roast, and of course, steins of beer. I always enjoy coming here when I come home and look forward to my next visit!

Glad to be back with family and friends. Good food, good company. Love the sausages, sauerkraut, and schnitzel. I had their broiled Haddock lunch. I needed something gluten free n light. The fish is fresh. No complaints there. My husband had the Rahm Schnitzel. He said the white sauce is to die for. that seems to be his new favorite . Everyone love the fried pickles and pretzel for apps. We also love the complimentary potato chips and dips. They are so good and lethal. You can probably wolf down half a bucket of it with a nice German beer. Service was fast and courteous. Our waiter came to check on us and our water glasses are always full. My only gripe is the place is so far away from where we live. Would love if they have a downtown boston location.

This was recommended as a lovely place to visit on a summer's eve, and they were right. We sat outside in the beer garden on a perfect night to sit out. The crowd was an older crowd, not 20's which was a surprise. There was a band playing great oldies, clearly catering to the older crowd. I tried the special- Kase Spatzle tossed in delish creamy cheese sauce with sundried tomatoes, scallions, garlic, and fried onions. So yummy! Too much for one so I brought leftovers home and they were enjoyed by many. I also tried the Muenchner Salad as it was recommended by the same people who recommended coming. They were right on. Full of all sorts of goodies and so refreshing on a warm eve. Topped it off with French Roquefort dressing, apparently a house specialty. So worth the calories. Can't believe I've never been here, but will go back for sure!

Between the view of downtown, and the attitude of the waitress, you almost think you are in Munich. Don't take me wrong, the surely attitude of our waitress was a plus, and she was great, helpful, and funny. The food was phenomenal. Don't go expecting fast service, as that's not the German way, but it is well worth the wait. They also have a wonderful selection of German beers on tap. Das ist gutes Zeug

I don't have much experience with German food aside from some brats and perhaps a Reuben sandwich, is that even German? Anyway, the food here is just good. The menu didn't sound particularly enticing, as in I didn't wake up and think, "I really want schnitzel and spaetzle today", but now I might! We ordered the sampler which had a little of most appetizers including just about fried everything, pickles, potato pancakes, cheese, sauerkraut balls (amazing) and shrimp. The sauerkraut balls were my favorite but my guy liked the pancakes. We both agreed the shrimp and mustard dipping sauce is bomb. We shared the schnitzel platter with three kinds of schnitzel and spaetzle. The one with mushrooms and brown gravy sauce was the fave but they were all delicious. The spaetzle was so good! Lastly, because I love apfel strudel, we got the dessert but opted for the trio because if one is good, three is better. We'll definitely be back.

**UPDATE Went back on another night and had a wonderful waitress named Amy. All questions I had were answered, she was super attentive, and she had great suggestions. The food was much better. I started with the goulash soup, ate the chicken bratwurst for dinner, and for dessert I enjoyed the apple strudel a la mode. There was also an older gentleman playing the accordion, which definitely add points. I went here a few days ago with my boyfriend for a date night. The food was okay, honestly the appetizer was the best (sauerkraut balls). Our waitress was terrible, she rarely checked on us, she forgot to bring out our soups, and she never told us the kitchen was closing before we finished eating so that we could order desert. The food was overpriced. I may give them another chance, but not anytime soon.

I actually liked this place. The waiters and waitresses dress up in outfits (lederhosen is quite dashing) so that's always a win. The food here was a-okay. I had the French Onion Soup and it was tasty - smothered in more cheese than I can imagine. We also had the pretzel and it was HUGE. I would totally recommend the pretzel if you're going for beers and a snack. The reuben was fine, but nothing to write home about. It was a typical sandwich. The spaetzel was mehhhh - they needed some flavor or at least some salt. I probably won't order that one again. I look forward to coming back here in the summer to enjoy the biergarten!
