While working in the area and not having too many places to eat. I settled on this place. I ordered the seafood pasta which consisted angel hair pasta and lobster cream sauce. Lobster claw mear, lump crab meat, shrimp, and crawfish tails. Not as flavorful as I expected it was actually kind of bland. I ended up asking the waitress who was kind enough to bring me some Tabasco sauce.Which made it taste a lot better, hey I like it spicy.

We were seated immediately when we arrived, but our table was never assigned to a waitress; therefore, leaving us waiting for 10 minutes before someone realized. Our waitress was very nice, yet we found her to be slightly unprofessional. My fiancé ordered the sea bass special and I, a shrimp dish. The sea bass was thickly sliced and undercooked and my meal spoke of vegetables, which I had none of. The meal was very much over priced as we spent $32 on an undercooked piece of fish. We live in Sunset, yet this will be our last stop to eat here, as this was the second disappointing experience at Café Josephine. We will eat at the Mexican restaurant if we want to stay in town again.

Excellent food with a great New Orleans style atmosphere. The shrimp & grits are great. The Zydeco shrimp is similar to bang bang shrimp but better.

Keep in mind this is near lafayette which is a food mecca. It was ok, nothing remarkable about it. Had the broiled oysters, chef put something resembling thousand island dressing on and loaded with cheese. Not very good when a food can stand alone on taste. Been spoiled by dragos in New Orleans. The soft shelled crab was ok, under seasoned, and pricey at 22.00. My wife had the rib eye, kind of thin but cooked the right temp, again over 20.00. House cab was 7.00 and good. Bottom line, 30 restaurants within 20 miles with a fairer price and better food. They also broke one of my golden rules for a 20+ dollar meal, don't Make me ask for water .

We went here for some authentic Louisiana food. My husband's family lives in the area and had good things to say about it. Good food, friendly service, and cute atmosphere. I felt like menu items were a bit pricey for the location, but servings are large. The manager or owner came to our table and had a nice chat with us. There were 7 of us: 5 adults and 2 children. They have a kids' menu that includes a peanut butter and M&M sandwich! The kids had mac 'n cheese and a cheeseburger. Mac 'n cheese used penne noodles which may have been a bit too big for a little kid. The hubs ordered the seafood platter and I got shrimp and grits and we sort of shared. The seafood platter would have been enough for both of us.

Well........ I've been to Josephines many times since it's very close to my home. I've had good meals there and bad meals. I'll start with the food first. VERY VERY inconsistent. The same dish has been completely different each visit. I've had wonderful dishes and awful dishes. I'm almost positive my fish wasn't flounder one visit and the seafood platter was great once and horrible a week later. To be perfectly honest it has been more often not great than great. We were even served coffee that was brewed with used coffee grounds I'm pretty sure. I can't imagine any other way it could have been that weak and clear. The server was rude and just said "I won't charge you" We wanted coffee!! Service is slow slow. Especially for drinks from the bar. This has been every time we have been and I mean EVERY TIME. I would LOVE for them to get their act together. They need to work on food consistency and service. Service needs the most work concerning the bar. Maybe they need more help or something. I've also noticed the food and service falls apart if they are busy.

I am a local and have eaten here several times for dinner. We were excited to have a decent, local, non-chain restaurant nearby. The food here is very, very good. In the beginning we took all our visitors here for a good meal. However, we haven't been back for a while. The service we experienced was very sporadic. Sometimes it was average, but many times it was horrific. Just no consistency. Long waits for table and food. Once we waited an hour after ordering to find out they were out of one of the dishes we'd ordered. And the prices are too high for the type of service and atmosphere provided. It's like they are trying to be an upscale eatery in a country casual decor with unprofessional staff. In spite of the great food, we avoid it due to overpriced dishes and poor service. However, many of our friends have had good service with no complaints when they've been there so maybe we just hit some low nights. If you want to try good, local food, please do so.

Happened to pass this restaurant and decided to try it out. Everything was fresh, homemade, and excellent. Fried seafood is lightly seasoned, battered, and fried to perfection - not overseasoned or overbattered. Tuna tacos with tuna grilled pink in the center and covered with homemade slaw and jalapeno relish. Twice stuffed bake potato soup. Complimentary homemade blackberry biscuits too good to describe - we were told they vary according to fruits available and sometimes cheddar and chives. This place is REALLY good. I may add another star if next visit is as good as the first.

Best prime beef I've ever been served, anywhere. I had to return two weeks later just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I had the house large ribeye the first time. It cut with a fork, and had a strong, but very smooth beef flavor. It surely had to be aged. The chef failed to "char" the steak, but fortunately the beef was so good it could not fail. On the second visit, I ordered a "steak of the week," if you will, bone-in ribeye the chef had brought in as a special delivery. I mentioned my desire for a little char this time, and boy, I don't have words for how good that steak was. A little pricey, but I'm a steak lover.

Such an awesome experience! There were 7 specials and they all sounded amazing. I had the sea bass on pesto cream angel hair pasta. It was phenomenal! And the waitress was so helpful and excited about everything they had to offer. Can't wait to go back!
