Fat Daddy's is a special part of Plaquemine's history. It's been there forever and is still drawing in new crowds every day. I have yet to have a bad dish or experience at Fat Daddy's. The poboys cannot be beaten. It's a popular place on Fridays in Lent because there are tons of seafood dishes from my favorite: the fried shrimp poboy, to fried fish plates, seafood gumbo, shrimp salads, and buffalo shrimp. I recommend anything that sounds good, because it probably is. They also have a bar next door "Lil Daddy's" where you can order the food along with an alcoholic beverage and either enjoy the big game or hear some awesome local music.

We love going to Fat Daddy's every time we visit family in Plaquemine. They have some of the best gumbo I've ever had from a restaurant. Can't go wrong with the Muffuletta either. Wish we had something like this in CA!

Fat Daddy's is hands down the "Champion" best poboy makers in this state. The fact that your poboy is not swallowed up by a mound of bread is my reason for loving this place. They place the poboy in a press and you can truly enjoy not just the bread but the ingredients of the poboy. I just wish there was a location in East Baton Rouge or Ascenion. Nonetheless, my family and I will continue to visit this location. The Sharon in an awesome poboy sandwich, it is hot, crispy and flavorful. You can't go wrong with any of the salads, gumbo, seafood or poboys. In 5 years we have never had a bad dish. This place could give lessons in great Customer Service. Keep up the awesome work! The only thing I would like to see is the addition of homemade salad dressings, homemade tartar sauce and homemade cocktail sauce. I think this would definitely put you guys even further on the list of best spots to eat locally.

This is the place in Plaquamine, LA for lunch. The Sharon's Special is the 2nd best Roast beef sandwich in the state. The owners and wait staff are the best. Very friendly, very accommodating, and the food is great!!

Found Fat Daddy's on Yelp. Very friendly staff greeted me as I walked in the door. Had the shrimp po boy and coleslaw with sweet tea. Pretty good meal. Good value for the $$. Would visit again.

Food was very average...had a shrimp sandwich...was not bad but really did not have much flavor. Service was good and friendly though. If I ever find my way back to Plaquemine I would likely look for another place to eat lunch but if this was the only option I would go back.

I came here on a Wednesday around 1230 for lunch. It's a fairly small spot, but quaint. From what I could tell there was only around 12-15 tables packed fairly close together and we had the last table. After us there were a few other people waiting. The menu was fairly extensive: fatdaddysonline.com/menu… From the few Yelp reviews, it seems Sharon's Special was the thing to get. It's a hot roast beef sandwich with melted swiss cheese, and grilled onions served with "gravy" which seemed to be just au jus (guess that's the name in Louisiana). Yelp...you didn't fail me. This was probably the best po-boy I've had since I've been in Baton Rouge and I've tried a lot (George's, Chelseas, few other places). I thought just the sandwich was good, but when I dipped it in the au just, I could have died right there and had no regrets. My only regret is that I didn't get the full sandwich. It's totally worth the extra $1. I ended up getting potato salad instead which wasn't bad, but I would have rather have had more sandwich.

Fat DADDY'S is a great little restaurant. They're fried green beans are good. I enjoy both the shrimp and bbq beef po boy. I understand that the Sharon special is really good too. The service can be a little slow.

Great atmosphere and selection. Perfect spot on the Westside to take your family. Prices are very reasonable and the service is always good.

The food was average. My wife and I were looking for a Cajun dive type restaurant. For outward appearances this fit the bill. It was very local and the menu choices looked to support our choice. I had the Sharon Special which was just a French dip. My wife had the shrimp poboy. The food was good, but not stellar. When in Plaquemine, I will try other places, but would eat here again if required.

Perfect place to grab a po-boy for lunch. The "Sharon's Special" po boy is excellent. It's a very similar to a French Dip sandwich, but better than your typical French Dip. It comes with a au jus sauce that puts the po boy towards the top of my favorite sandwiches. The shrimp po boy is definitely worth a try also. Lunch and dinner plates are pretty good, but I always go with a po boy. If you're in the area and need a good bite to eat you won't be disappointed.
