This is a really cute cafe in Old Metairie. Although I just stopped in here for an iced coffee, this place is so much more than a coffee shop. First of all, the iced coffee I got was amazing. It had a lot of flavor, without being overpowering. I was really impressed by the menu here. They serve everything from pastries, salads and wraps to specialty sandwiches. I was tempted to try some food, but I was in a bit of a rush. The shop itself has very good atmosphere and a lot of space. As Jen L. said, there are plenty of tables where you can eat and, of course, there is free WifI, if you need to get some work done.

Nice little coffee shop hidden in a strip mall along Metairie Road, Royal Blend has a large selection of coffee as well as sweets and eats. The have a full kitchen with breakfast menu and some of the best desserts around. An excellent choice for a breakfast/brunch stop if your in that area.

Ugh, this place is the worst! My grandmother often asks me to stop here and pick up something for her - and each time I get this request, dread creeps over me. The parking situation is awful - there are a bunch of stores packed into this strip mall and I almost never find an open spot. There's no parking along Metairie Road, and even parking in the swanky neighborhood behind the strip mall is tough. The quality of the food is wildly inconsistent - sometimes it will be great, but more often than not the lettuce is wilted, avocado is brown, and bread is slightly stale. But the prices definitely reflect its Old Metairie location - don't be surprised if you drop around $10 for a very mediocre sandwich. The staff is curt on the best days, outright surly on the worst. I'm going to try to persuade my grandmother to start requesting orders from somewhere else!

I was really excited to see this suburban branch of my favorite FQ coffee shop. Since it's in a strip mall (OK a fancy strip mall), there was plenty of parking. The menu looked really enticing but I opted for a tasty chocolate chip cooking and a large iced tea. Both were just what I needed and I was off in no time. The space was roomy with lots of tables for the lunch/breakfast crowd. The staff was nice. Definitely will stop back by when I'm cruising Metairie Road.

Plus-Nice atmosphere, coffee is good. The espresso is hand-made. There is usually plenty of seating and there is a game table for the kids. Minus-The food service is subpar compared to Chateau Cafe or Puccino's. The menu is not up-to-date and the cafe will not serve breakfast all-day like the other coffee houses. The counter staff can be rude at times. A Puccino's just opened down the street. I hope this shop will stay in business.

Rude Baristas- last I checked a mocha was with espresso not a chocolate iced coffee. The coffee/espresso quality is weak and it tastes watered down. Literally my mocha I had them remake that the still charged me for tastes like chocolate water. As they remade it I watched as the baristas talked bad about me behind the counter to each other. I'm extremely disappointed and did not deserve to be treated like an asshole when I was politely asking for what I was paying for. Get it together. Also my panini tasted like fabuloso cleaner. Not a great way to start my day. Management please hire more experienced NICE baristas. To be treated like shit first thing in the morning is the worst way to start your day.

My wife and go to Royal Blend, because it's the only breakfast place on Metairie Road. The eggs and bacon are fairly good, and their croissants are too, but the rest of their fare is definitely middle-of-the-road. The coffee is not good, because it's not fresh unless you're lucky. For this reason we usually order the lattes. That way we know we're going to get something freshly made. The hash browns are tasteless, and the biscuits are fair. Oh lastly the staff are a pretty sullen lot too. After saying all this I'll add that if you live off Metairie Road and you spend an hour in there you're likely to run into one or more of your neighbors. We've made several friends whom we see week after week in there lounging with their children or just hanging out. I'll end this by saying that Metairie Road NEEDS another breakfast place. This place needs competition. I'm looking at you, Ruby Slipper!

Great local coffee shop! I enjoy exploring the coffee shops available in the area and it seems like this is the place to go in Old Metairie. Royal Blend has a nice atmosphere with a clean and friendly environment. Lunch is decent and the baked goods are good.

When I was in high school this was the place where every girl I knew went to get coffee if they were in the Old Metairie area. It had pretty good coffee from what I remembered but I hadn't been in years. I stumbled across the Royal Blend in the French Quarter a few weeks ago and had some great coffee so I decided to stop and try this location again the last time I was on Metairie Rd. The coffee at this location was definitely not as good as the one in the Quarter. I got an iced coffee and it was pretty bitter but not horrible. I guess it really matters who's making the coffee or maybe they were stale beans or something. The price was reasonable (I think ~$3) which from what I've noticed lately is pretty cheap compared to the $5 cups of coffee everywhere else. If you're on Metairie Rd and need to stop for some coffee or food this is a decent place.

Nothing special about the mocha blended .it's good though :)...wasn't busy for a Friday. I have a feeling this coffee shop is for the older crowd even though the look of the shop is targeting the younger crowd .

I am really disappointed in this place. I've heard good things about it BUT...the reason I am disappointed is because I tried to buy 3 muffins. 3 chocolate muffins. This was around 4pm one afternoon. Well the High School person working the counter said NO. I could only have one. Why?? Because they didn't have enough for the next morning's rush. Really!?!? Then bake some more! I couldn't believe it. It was ridiculous. If a manager reads this, I hope they change their muffin policy because I will not return here.

Royal Blend is a great place for a cup of coffee, breakfast or lunch. This place stay busy with regular patrons and has staple coffee and tea offerings, but unlike other coffee shops, the have a great hot breakfast menu. The lunch menu is also excellent offering sandwiches, salads and soups. One of my favorite sides is the potato salad because it's made with sour cream instead of mayonnaise, which I know sounds weird, but tastes great. The prices, service and quality of food cannot be beat. It's the type of place where you can sit and chat with friends, conduct a business appointment or go it alone. If you're a fan of Caffe Caffe, or Cafe Latte, you should give Royal Blend a try.

I really like this place! Coffee, pastries and breakfast items like grits and grillades, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches just to name a few! They have comfortable seating, reading material and they'll come bring your breakfast to you which seems to be unique as far as coffee places go. This is one of those places I'll go out of my way for if I'm looking for a good, quick bite and their hazelnut ice coffee is definitely the way to go!

I usually come here for breakfast when we are visiting family in Metairie. Over the years, they have greatly expanded their line of offerings and managed to keep prices pretty reasonable as well. I have been here a few times, in the afternoon, when I needed a comfortable place to have some coffee and do work. I really can't find anything to fault them on. It isn't the best coffee or the best food, but it is quite good, and the combination of all the elements garners it five stars in my book.

Excellent coffee - I get either the au lait or plain and it's good every time. There is a distinct crowd of regulars that are here practically every day. The breakfasts are really good. My favorite is the "quick start" - eggs, cheese grits and bacon - they have good English muffins. Recently they've expanded the menu, so I'm going to have to try others and re review later.

Good coffee and a great breakfast selection. I had the Quick Start Breakfast. The cheese grits were very creamy, the bacon was crisp, the toast was nicely browned, and the my eggs over hard weren't chewy. All-in-all, a great place to break the monotony of bland, processed, fast-food breakfast!
