Blizzards are the bomb.com , the people at this location are peachy keen and the restaurant itself is clean. Never had the burgers, I stick to ice cream and boy do these people do it amazingly!! When I do get blizzards I either get the strawberry cheesequake or seasonally the golden oreo one (forget the name of it)

So this isn't really a DQ. No burgers, no star ice cream, no anything that you would expect from a DQ. They should make them change the name

I knew that Dairy Queen was selling the Original Orange Julius, and the other day, I HAD to have one. From the outside I wasn't expecting much. I mean this Dairy Queen is in a strip mall that is a bit run down. You can barely see it from the road, and you have to be looking for it. I was not sure that the sanitation would meet my standards as I navigated dirty diapers and various trash items and clumps of gum in the parking lot. I almost turned around and got back in my car. But the Orange Julius.... As soon as I walked it, I was wrapped in the Dairy Queen cocoon. The store was immaculate and the mood was like a lazy Saturday afternoon in the shade. The people were really nice, and the service was fast. As I sat in a booth eating my chili dog and treasured drink, I watched family after family come in and leave, all smiling with their treats in hand. A few couples sat down to eat and watched the kids trying to see over the counter at what they could pick out. People were relaxed and I heard some chuckles. I cannot think of anything wrong with this restaurant. It would be unfair to deduct a star because it is not gourmet, so 5 it is. I hope it isn't discovered too quickly, or I may lose my comfy place to sit and relax like I'm a kid.

Ice cream was awesome! Clean and the people that work there are nice. I went with my little girl and we were both pleased. We will come back for sure.

I'm not sure why DQ has anything less than 5 star reviews. Unless you hate all things good and weren't hugged enough as a child. Seriously guys, listen up. They take ice cream and add MULTIPLE delicious toppings of candy and syrups and whip it up till its 100% incorporated. THEN then they take it and turn the cup filled with creamy sweetness upside down! Just to show your non-trusting ass their Blizzards do in fact, defy gravity. A Blizzard treat is not something I indulge in often, but my visits to this particular DQ dates back to when I was a child, completely mystified by the options. To this day, I am put in a conundrum when I have to pick out just one Blizzard flavor. There are SO many to choose from. When I finally come to the heart wrenching choice I sit and wait impatiently for my Blizzard to be ready. Since this is the only DQ far and wide, there is always a gaggle of people inside just standing in the way between me and glory. I watch everyone around me as they dive into dessert heaven and think about how much I hate them and their existence. Suddenly, when I hear my name called I am relieved of my anxious heart and can enjoy my delectable blended soft serve treat. I enter a dessert vortex and its just me and my Blizzard. Nothing else matters. It's ok that loser took my parking spot on the way in. It's absolutely acceptable that the girl behind me is has a shriek for a laugh. And it's sure as hell going to be ok when I start crying in an empty cup because my Blizzard is gone...that and dairy does something weird to my stomach.

Came with my boyfriend because I was craving a reese blizzard. It was 10:05 and they close at 10. The manager NATHANIEL let us in anyways... When I told him I was dying for a reese blizzard he amped it up and made me a speciality peanut butter blizzard that rocked my world and comped my boyfriend's because it was his first time getting a blizzard! It's nice to see someone enjoy their job once in a while. I want Nathaniel to know that he made our night and is an exceptional manager!

This seems to be the only Dairy Queen location in the universe that doesn't have hamburgers... at first I thought perhaps a Hindu was the owner but they offer chili fries and hot dogs so that can't be the case. I have been to this location a handful of times over the years and in the past they did have hamburgers so I'm not sure what happened to make them recoil from offering this staple. They seem to have all the usual Dairy Queen desserts here so you can go for that but don't plan on getting most of the usual food items you find at all the other Dairy Queens in existence at this excruciating strip mall hell that is thankfully trapped way out in the suburbs so I don't have to be reminded of their chicanery.

This past weekend, after attending a company picnic at the Zoo, I convinced my family and mother in law to get some ice cream at the only DQ in the metro area. The place is small (Hence the reason why they don't serve hamburgers, no space for grill), but it was packed with several girls little league teams enjoying ice cream after playing softball. Watching the employees, it was obvious they were used to the crush of nearly constant customers. One thing of note is the reason WHY I give this place five stars: Ahead of me was a recently minted graduate from Tulane University, still wearing his gown from the ceremony. He placed his order and was waiting to be cashed out. The manager came over and asked him if he graduated. The customer confirmed that he did. The manager asked where he graduated from, the customer told him. Then the manager comped his entire order. THAT IS AWESOME! Even though this place is located in my old neighborhood, I'll gladly take a trip out here for ice cream from Dairy Queen.

Although this Dairy Queen doesn't serve hamburgers, it is an AWESOME place! THe Customer service here is OUTSTANDING!! Its hard to find good service like this anywhere in the times we live in now. The owner is so helpful and is ALWAYS smiling and interacting with customers. I also noticed they CLEAN 24-7!! There was a spill on the table and I didn't have to ask for it to be cleaned up. They were already on it.. LOVE THIS PLACE!! I will definitely be back!!

Took 35 minutes to get a sandwich and milkshake. Order was wrong. Incompetence is strong in this location

This place is pretty close to where I work so I occasionally stop in for a fast lunch. The owner is usually on-site monitoring things. The other workers there are always so friendly. Food is cooked to order and always tasty. A good place to stop in for a fast lunch.

Got my Blizzard order wrong - too far away from home to bother with going back. Meh.

Okay, you might be thinking.. wow, Hilary, what a SUPER COOL place to review. But hear me out. The service in this place is outstanding! The lady working there was just super friendly, more so than you'd expect in what I'd consider fast food (if you have read my Chickfila review, you will understand that I don't think it should be too much to ask to have someone NICE working at a fast food restaurant. Anyway, I digress..). She smiled and was friendly! Astonishing! I was forced to drive out to this DQ from my house in Uptown after seeing a very persuasive commercial advertising the seasonal blizzard, the mint oreo. Um, yum. Leaving now. The blizzard was delish, as expected, because really, how can you go wrong with that combo of flavors? And I have to say, I'm a sucker for the part where they turn it upside down to show you just how thick (and full of sweet, sweet calories) your blizzard is. Anyway, as Jennifer B. mentioned, no one comes here for food, so skip that. Plus, to add to my blizzard-induced excitement, someone had literally driven their SUV into the Dollar General a few doors down. To which I respond, "A car in the Dollar General? Now THAT'S a good deal." Ba-dum ching. (I'll be here all week.)

I have many fond memories from my Midwestern childhood of summertime bike rides with my family to the DQ in our old neighborhood for a dipped ice cream cone. So when nostalgia calls, this is where I go. Thankfully Nostalgia seems to be busy with other people most of the time, as I hardly frequent this place with any sort of regularity. Which is fine, since the only DQ in the entire New Orleans metropolitan area is in a rundown strip mall between a Chinese restaurant that looks like a front for the Triads and an Autozone. The staff is usually very polite, but all of the decorum in the world can't hide the smell of fried food that sometimes permeates the air. My true recommendation is to take your business to a shop like Creole Creamery or Angelo Brocato's but if you must, get your Blizzard of Shame to go.

I'll start by saying that the people that work here, from what I've seen, are super friendly. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired. It's not this location, but DQ in general. When I neglect to bring a lunch to work and only have 5-10 mins to grab something, I've had better fast food down the street at Burger King, and it's cheaper. Then again, who goes to DQ for food? It's all about the dessert. I'm not a huge fan of soft serve, except when they bring out the Pumpkin Pie blizzard annually in the fall. This is a must-have if you're a Pumpkin fan like me. This, and the staff, justifies the 3 stars. Do I go here more than 1-2 times per year? No. Do I order anything else? No. However, do I thoroughly enjoy my 1-2 trips because of the deliciousness of this one item? Absolutely!

They can be slow at times, but everything is made fresh and served hot. I usually order the fried chicken basket and it has never disappointed. The only drawback is the fries always taste too salted. Quality control has improved. About a year ago I had tried this place and everything (I mean EVERYTHING) tasted like salt, even the Coke. The staff now is also a lot nicer than the old lady who used to work in there.

Great prompt service! The owner & staff were courteous, & very friendly! I had a multiple order & they got it right! My mom loved her strawberry sundae as well! Keep it up! Tammy
