Omg if you ever want to have a hot glazed donut melt in your mouth then you need to stop here. They offer hot donuts more often than any other donut shop in town. They also have a wide variety of other donuts like the biggest cinnamon rolls and bear claws that you have ever seen. The lunch menu is so cheap you'll feel like you stepped back in time. While you wait for your hot donuts, refresh your pac-man or galactica skills and feel better about yourself. They have big kid games like video poker if youre feeling extra lucky. This place is popular but the line moves fast. Dont be scared off by the rough looking strip mall- just remember some of the best places are hidden gems.

Looks a little sketchy, but everyone there including the sketchy looking ones are pretty nice. Selection here is one of the best when it comes to a Tastee location and the customer service is quick and sometimes friendly. Some might say they felt like the service was cold, but I find that they're just really focused on getting people in and out, which is key to a great doughnut spot, especially when the line is almost out the door. Besides, the workers have all been kind and pleasant when I've needed something out of the ordinary. Please make sure to tip, these are some hard workers and deserve a little gratuity at the end of the day.

This place is awesome. I had the blueberry donut, red velvet donut and a sausage egg biscuit. Yeah, I do it big when I'm on vacation. The red velvet was amazing. I wish I had gotten a dozen of them. I'm soo glad we stopped here instead of mcdonalds or dunkin donuts!

Everything about this place is amazing the donuts are excellent and defiantly the best I have ever had. The selection of donuts is huge they have so many things to choose from. They have Reese peanut butter cup donuts, butterfinger donuts, m&m donuts. This place is awesome. The food is just as good as the donuts. I love the breakfast, the hot plates and kastleburgers. This place is among the few restaurants that really do made to order food at a good price and with out a long wait. I absolutely love this place. Try the gumbo it's amazin!!!!!!

Love those donuts and those all important kastle burgers. I was so happy to find this place. Its amazing the things we take for granted when you live someone. This is one of them. You can get food off the grill. Breakfast is excellent but those kastle burger (similar to Krystal Burgers or White Castle) are what they are known for. Get you a sack of these with cheese and some buttermilk drops which are as good as you get or during mardi gras season those king cakes I promise you will not leave disappointed. Donuts are Excellent if you like pastries.

Okay - my disclaimer: I never imagined I'd be leaving a review for a doughnut place, but I really ought to. This place simply rocks. The girls are friendly, even on busy days, with grumpy customers. I've seen that in action personally. Next, CLEAN. Holy cow. There is Always someone cleaning...Love That. Finally, the food / doughnuts. When I moved to the area, my best friend said once we ate at the Tastee's in Kenner, we'd be spoiled for anything else. So Damn True. Their doughnuts are amazing. The variety is mind blowing, and there is always the option of hot glazed. Oh, yes...hot and glazed to order. Fatty delicious heaven. Side note on the breakfast sliders and Kastle burgers...wow and wow. We haven't had anything but breakfast stuff and Kastle Burgers, but when anyone from out of town visits, we trek out to Kenner for breakfast at least once. And have never had a complaint yet. Looking for a comfort food treat..Put this in ya mouf! ;)

3.5 stars. We came here b/c we needed to be near the airport and wanted our friends to experience a little more Cajun food before they departed. You can't beat the price point here, and the portion sizes are generous. I liked that there were Cajun and non-Cajun options...o, and that there were pastries. We got the turkey neck platter, which came with potato salad and mac and cheese. Both of the sides were just so so, but the turkey neck was tender and really flavorful eaten with the gravy and the grilled french bread slices. You also get a donut...literally, you can choose from any doughnut on the wall including all the specialty ones (but not the apple fritter). I just wanted to try their famous glaze. It was not warm, so I was a little unimpressed. Otherwise, it would have been as good as Krispy Kreme. I also had a taste of my friend's grilled shrimp slider and gumbo, but were really good. The gritty strip mall location did not bother me nor my friends. I was a little concerned with that, but they seem to all really enjoy their food. One even bought a giant donut, which was fun to eat. I know that Tastee has late hours, so I would definitely come here again in a pinch.

One of my fave places back home. They have a large menu to choose from. Donuts, food, hot plates, Castle burgers etc. I grew up eating Tastee donuts, and they are hands down the best donuts I have ever had. I've never tasted any other donuts that could compare.

  • Kyle M.

YES EVERYONE NEEDS TO BUY DONUTS FROM HERE. Best I've ever had. And they make the glazed constantly so you get em fresh ahhh I want some typing this out

The first question I asked before I ordered was "Do you have cream cheese." The lady responded yes, and I said, ok can I please have a bagel with cream cheese? I paid and waited, probably 10 minutes but they were busy so that wasn't a problem. I get my bagel and sit down to eat it and there is jam.... I walked up and asked for the cream cheese, the same lady said they didn't have any and didn't offer any type of apology or exchange. Nothing I hate more than paying for something and waiting and not getting what I paid for. Just an expensive bagel I ate dry. Three stars because the person I was with got a bagel sandwich that they liked and I know it's a donut shop, so giving them the benefit of that, the donuts did look good.

This donut shop is located in one of Kenner's finest neighborhoods (Lincoln Manor). You can usually go in there and see a few regulars that just like to sit here for hours on end after their quick breakfast. This donut shop is about as big as it gets as far as donut selection (about four dozen choices not including all the other options like donut holes or apple fritters). This Tastee's puts all the other donut shops to shame when it comes to variety and sheer number of donuts to choose from. I am a fat boy at heart and thoroughly enjoy me some good donuts and Tastee's has some mouth-watering donuts. Throw a couple of chocolate glazed my way and I am as happy as can be. I also love that the workers here are quick. I'm rarely inside for more than 5 mins if just getting donuts. I secretly have eaten some of their other food items here like their white beans and rice and their gumbo. I say secretly because most people would not readily admit to eating gumbo from a donut shop. I do and I think the gumbo and their white beans are quite good. Oh yeah I almost forgot about the kastle burgers. You can't go wrong ordering a sack of them! Ok I fibbed earlier about Lincoln Manor. The location of this shop may scare some but I've never been scared to go anywhere. And speaking from experience I have never seen anything happen here except for complete strangers talking to each other while they wait for their food. Does that happen in most other cities? I think not. Friendly people come here. I love this Tastee's!

This place has great donuts and sliders. Kids wanted to come back the second day. Wish we could take some home but the fill up before we go will have to suffice!

The line is often out the door, but let me tell you it moves fast. Sure it is in a not- upscale neigborhood, but everyone there is nice and we all wait in line and chat with each other. The donuts rock. The coffee is yummy, and the breakfast is cheap and tasty. My whole family loves to come here. if you want to be a real pig, get three hot glazed and smash them together and eat them all at once. My son does, its a sight to see. At Mardi Gras time, the king Cakes fly out the door.

Great donut holes. Reasonable prices. Obvious local following. Parking lot a bit of a mess and a line inside but worth it.

After Hurricane Katrina I forgot my first love :( Move to TX and tried some decent donut spots. While visiting my dad I decided to stop by my old hunting ground. Alot has changed but not the taste. These donuts have so much flavor in them and not only that...they sell other food as well 0_0 Pies, Pancakes, Seafood etc. Please stop by and give them a chance. You won't regret it. I can't wait to visit Louisiana again.

I really really hate, detest, loathe this place. 1st Problem - I live in New Orleans and this place is in Kenner 30 minutes away. "Ain't nobody got time for that" 2nd Problem - I need to lose wait and their healthy options well - are there healthy low fat options at a donut shop. 3rd Problem - I think a voodoo hex was put on me and drives me to this place so I don't appreciate that - me being saved and all succumbing to witchcraft. Diabetics and high cholesterol stay away or treat yourself once a month. Maybe if I walked to Kenner it would not be as bad. That's it - I'll walk there next time. But if you wanna know what food to get - check out them fish sliders, pigs in a blanket and donuts. The chicken sandwich was not that great. BTW - don't confuse this Tastee's with the others. They are not all created equal. There are a couple Tastee's a lot closer to me than Kenner. But this one is open 24 hours and they have better options and prices. Caveat: I promised that I would not go here again after my friend received bad service from the cashier. He asked her how much an option was on a menu - she told him "don't be lazy" Now this woman is at work and someone asked her a work related question and she told them not be lazy cause she did not want to answer. If the manager is looking it's the really thin frail looking white woman. This was strange, because I usually don't get bad service.

IF I'm going to eat a fried piece of bread thats been drenched in sugar, its going to be from here. Forget every place you thought had good donuts and come here, now. It is right off the Loyola exit in Kenner. This is a locally owned joint and they do donuts right! Open 24/7 they will have hot donuts all morning, afternoon and in the middle of the night. It doesn't get much better than that. If donuts or pastries aren't your thing, they also have hot breakfast super cheap!

Fast friendly service, we had chocolate Carmel pecan twists, a coconut cream pie doughnut, and a stack of kastle burgers, doughnuts were melt in your mouth good, and burgers were simple but cooked fresh to order. Would definitely return!! Lol close when trying to find it, it's in a strip mall in between a nail shop and a barber :-)

IMO while in a sketchy area of Kenner this one is the best of the locations for a late night spot and donuts, plus it's always good to support local businesses

A coworker brought in a few boxes. "I will be good and just eat half of the cake one with my protein espresso drink".... *entire doughnut disappears* "I'll just nibble on a glazed one..." *poof gone* I will have to do the Rocky run at lunch today. So good!

This place is amazing. Everything is sooo good and I have defiantly been here enough to say I have tried almost everything on the menu. All the workers are friendly and work so hard to keep the line that is usually out the door under control. I have never been in a place that is so busy and still get customers served in a timely fashion. Some of these reviews say this place is in a bad area... Are yall serious? It's right off the interstate and if you go in there over night there is always a police officer.(I think the police officer is there because of the amount of customers in there at one time). Let's just start with the donuts. They r amazing. They have the best donuts around. I love donuts so I have been to just about every donut shop in the Nola area. And these r the best!!! The donuts are usually hot and they can usually make any special order u want. All U have to do is ask. Whenever I want special orders I call early in the morning and they can usually have it done by noon. The apple fritters here are so good as well!!! Red velvet cake and Reese peanut butter are my favorites oh wait the Oreo donut is just as good! Next let's move on to kastleburgers... These kastleburgers are a New Orleans original and no one can top them. These people have to entire process of cooking kastleburgers down to a science. ( or so it appears). I have seen the crystal across the street but any one that is local knows tastee's kastleburgers are so Much better. Does anyone even go to crystal? Also just like the donuts you can Special order the kastleburgers. They are always made fresh. The breakfast is so good as well. They use real products. It is defiantly made to order and not typical fast food breakfast. U can order anything u can imagine for breakfast. I have seen people eating hot sausage egg and cheese sandwiches and I have seen all different types of breakfast platters served. They also have a huge selections of po boys and sandwiches that u can order 24/7. Now the hot plates they serve here are so good. They have everything and it's all home cooked u can taste it. It reminds me of when I was little and my grandma fixed me red beans and rice. They also have this pasta defiantly homemade it is so good it has crawfish and shrimp in it. The gumbo is good as well. All I can say is pass up all other donut shops and come her for the full New Orleans style donut experience. This is an old time genuinely good donut shop the donuts taste the same as they did when I was a child it's so nice to have a restaurant/ donut shop that doesnt take the easy way out cut corners and produce a not so good product. This place is the best donut shop around.

CHEAP AND GOOD. Came from out of town and this was walking distance from our hotel. Our driver recommended the place telling us their breakfast was great if we ever wanted something that weren't Bourbon St. prices. We took him up on the suggestion. The breakfast is PHENOMENAL. The prices are even better. Only complaint was the hash brown. They tasted like they were cooked in the wrong oil. Funny aftertaste. But the sandwich was so packed with egg, meat, and cheese that I was too full to even really enjoy the hash brown. Breakfast sandwich was $3. Breakfast platters were $4. Paid a total of $13 for a breakfast sandwich, breakfast platter, two juices, and a donut. Donuts were heavenly. Light and fluffy. Tasted fresh out the oven. Don't let the area turn you off. The restaurant is in a ghetto shopping center but the food and desserts makes it well worth it. Next time I go back I will try a lunch/dinner entree. Definitely pleased on my first visit.

They always have hot glazed. Do you need any more reason than that? Let me elaborate on their glazed- the best in the city! That's not just my opinion- that's the opinion of everyone I know. Who needs that fake sugary plastic of Krispy Kreme when you can have new orleans's original bakery and their doughnuts? All their doughnuts are made fresh every day. And you can taste the difference between this location and other donut shops. I try my best to support small businesses and donut shops are no exception. This is my all-time favorite Tastees location. Now, it's the *only* one i go to. I have driven out of my way more times than I can remember to go to this particular location. The hot glazed are too tempting and too soft to resist. So worth the extra gas. Especially when the reward is being able to bite into that scrumptious pastry that's perfect for breakfast or a snack. There's always a line here. Sometimes, it's around the block. But the workers really know what they're doing and are always quick and efficient. Sometimes, I like to trip them up by giving them a coupon or a Louisiana card (the coupon card the schools are always trying to sell.) They never blink an eye and allow substitutions for the extra donuts. I love getting a full bag of assorted minis which are too easy to just pop into your mouth. The rest of their donuts are also awesome! Never more than a day old, they're bigger and tastier than the kind you would get elsewhere. And they always have whatever you want- even the more exotic ones- like PB&J and ones decorated with Saints or LSU decor. Can't beat that- and their prices are so reasonable. $6 for a dozen. I've heard their hot plates are also good. My best friend swears by them but I've never eaten any. But when I used to work at Sam's next door, a lot of my co-workers would eat there and gush about how great they were. They would use the same words as my best friend: cheap, huge portions, really good. I know that I've never complained about their Kastleburgers. White Caste and Krystal, move over! Tastees offers one more pickle slice on their burgers and the option of their hot glazed as a dessert! I seriously love coming here. They show you how to handle a constant rush but still produce a quality product. Sure the parking lot doesn't look the nicest but you forget all that when you go inside and see that everyone there's just enjoying some awesome food - or waiting to get that awesome food. So definitely worth that extra drive to go out there. In fact, I'm happy I have to drive to get to them- otherwise I'd be 20 lbs heavier.

I love this spot. The doughnuts are to die for. From the original glazed doughnuts to there red velvet doughnut. Just complete perfection!!!!!

First, I think it's weird people are saying this location is sketchy. Yeah it's in a rando strip mall that isn't exactly brand spanking new, but I definitely don't think it is scary. What I like about this shop is that they have a rainbow of flavor options to choose from! My fave is the blueberry cake. Only complaint ... upgrade from styrofoam coffee cups to paper cups please! Because drinking hot liquids out of styrofoam, not the neighborhood in which this biz exists, is what's scary!

The 5 stars is only for the donuts and how this place is as a donut joint, the restaurant\entree portion would be 2 stars. The donuts are good and they heat them up for you upon request which is a great addition because a hot donut is really that much better than a cold one especially when chased with a cup of milk. The majority of the offering's Donut to Glaze ratio are about 60\40 and the dough isnt soaking in glaze so they arent toothachingly sweet(sweetness is relative right???). The Donut selection is superb, with at least 15-20 different types of donuts on display. During Carnival Season there are stacks upon stacks of King Cakes and they seem to disappear quite quickly because in an hour sitting and eating there, 15 king cakes must have been sold. Donut making I believe is not considered a respected baking or culinary skill, I am not sure why it isnt when it is so easy to mess up and it is hard to find good donuts in some parts of this country of ours. However as with anything fried, Louisiana seems to have donut making down to a science and this place is a good example of that. On the other hand, the food section here has to be what they make those food documentaries about when they talk about the lack of healthy and high quality food choices in lower income areas. I know it is a donut shop and my expectations should not be high, and trust me i didnt expect much, but i have eaten here several times because it is quick, easy, and affordable for the most part and the food is always super greasy and really salty. If extra salt and oil were a side order this place is giving it out for free and I dont think they are worried about running out. The Jambalaya here was quite good though.

Delicious fresh doughnuts. Some of the best I've had. My recommendation would be for the red velvet doughnut.

This Tastee's location is in a bad neighborhood (cops were busting someone just 50 feet away last time I went) but I still go there once a month because it's he best place in NOLA for donuts. I am a donut fanatic and I don't think you can beat this place for variety and taste. It's clearly the best Tastee's location (I've been to all of them from Kenner to Westwego), better than Krispy Kreme, and anything else I've had in the area (haven't tried Blue Dot yet). As a teacher, my kids love it when I bring in a few boxes of Oreo, peanut butter and jelly, and M&M donuts or whatever specialties they have at the time. Personally I love the cake with chocolate frosting and the old-fashioned buttermilk donuts. The prices are pretty standard, not too expensive. If you're a little worried about the neighborhood then you probably shouldn't go. it's just off of Loyola so it's fairly out in the open. I'm comfortable with it, even though I've been eyeballed to death several times while just trying to get some donuts. The employees can't help the location and they have always been friendly and helpful. My current profile pic shows a couple boxes of Tastee's donuts from this location.

If you're looking for thick, fresh and great tasting donuts...this is the place. They're open 24-7. Generally the donuts are fresh. If not, you can ask them for fresh donuts. They also have an extended traditional meal menu for those late night eaters. The staff members are good and they keep you informed on the time frame of your order. The parking lot can be a challenge at times but that's not all their fault because they share it with other businesses.
