They have Hoegaarden on tap. As someone married to an expat Belgian, that's really all that needs to be said. But even better - they have awesome burgers. Did I mention they have Hoegaarden on tap, served in Hoegaarden glasses like they would in Belgium? The only slight negative is they serve it with a wedge of lemon instead of a slice floating on the top - but at this point it's just nit-picking. Some people have complained about the noise, but when we come it's usually in the afternoon and we sit outside to enjoy the nice weather. It's perfectly quiet outside.

I recently had lunch here with a friend - I had the fish & chips, my friend had the pizza. The pizza was a decent representation of New York style, thin-crust pizza. The toppings weren't distributed evenly, and the center of the pizza was heavy and wet. This is a kitchen problem, and I would ask specifically next time for them to distribute the toppings evenly, which would solve the problem. The pizza tasted very good. The fish & chips, for $12.95, consisted of 2 small fish sticks, lots of fries, 4 small hush puppies (very dark - fried too long) and about 1/4 cup of coleslaw. This is not a $12.95 entree. I thought it might have been just a problem with my lunch, but at the table next to us 3 people were having the fish & chips and their baskets all looked the same. I realize that we are in Kentucky. I realize that fresh fish could possibly be hard to get. But, the main ingredient in fish & chips IS, unfortunately, the fish. So, if you can't serve at least a good portion size of fish, don't charge so much. If I had just been reviewing the pizza, my review would have been 3 stars because of the aforementioned problems with the pizza, and the sticky surfaces of tables, chairs, and doors, and the slow service. These are management problems, not kitchen problems, that need to be addressed. I notice that Grey Goose is usually busy, which would seem to indicate that either the food is good or there is a lack of other dining options in Midway...this latter statement is definitely not true. Heirloom, a few doors away, is a delicious alternative, and if I ever want fish & chips again I will head to Wallace Station. Grey Goose, I will try you one more time. I hope you will make a better impression.

Great service, friendly staff. The "goose burger" is great! The fried mushrooms and wings are tasty too. The pizzas are pretty disappointing however- I usually love thin crust pizza but their crust is so thin and dry- like a thin cracker. Overall fun place to go to have a drink and good bar food on a nice patio.

We tried their chicken finger appetizers, which were alright. Their pizzas are pretty good. There were flies in the restaurant which wasn't the best. It might be because they had their windows open. There is outdoor seating which could be nice. It's in midtown, which is a super cute area with lots of boutiques. Street parking is also super easy.

The Midway location of Grey Goose has a nice ambiance and serves the same excellent thin crust as the other locations. Unfortunately the service we had at the Midway location this last visit was awful. When you repeatedly have to flag down other servers to get silverware and refills, there are some problems. When you repeatedly ask your absentee server for condiments and water and never have them delivered, there are more problems. When half an order is missing and the appetizer ordered and eaten by one couple is added in part to the bill of the other couple, the service is just plain poor. If you want to try the food at Grey Goose, go to the Lexington location. The Midway location gets 2 stars only because of the ambiance and food -not the service.

Brunch was great and service was good even though the place was packed. Definitely a restaurant to enjoy again!

We had a group of six for lunch. We ordered the fish and chips, fish sandwich a couple of salads and a grilled chicken sandwich. There wee only 4 other tables of guest. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food. When we got the fish and chips. The tartar sauce was nearly all mayonnaise. It had no flavor. The fish was over-cooked and a dark brown. The Caesars salad dressing had no anchovies flavor. Again seemed like just mayonnaise rather than Caesar dressing. I'm guessing they lost their cook and the one back in the kitchen had no idea how to make anything. It was a waste of money. The service was friendly. But I would never go back because the food lacked any sort of flavor.

Inedible pizza? Who knew such a thing was possible. I love pizza and I didn't think it was possible to make one that I wouldn't eat. However, we ordered carry out last night. It was shockingly bad. We ordered their Italian pizza and fish & chips. The pizza looked like it had been prepared in the morning; the cheese was hard and congealed. There was no sauce. You would think the appearance would have stopped me from eating it but, sadly, it did not. I love pizza! It tasted as dreadful as it looked. We never got past the first piece. The "chips" part of the fish & chips were tasty but that was about it. So, we essentially got a $30.00 order of chips. Honestly, I was shocked they would even send the food out. I have eaten at these restaurants many times (although to be fair, I have usually imbibed before the food comes); nobody expects the meal of their life, but it is usually edible. Very inconsistent!

The food wasn't bad, but I knocked off three stars for the following reasons and for these reasons I will not return. 1. We paid $11 for fish and chips (not a bad price), but we only received about 1 1/2 tablespoons of coleslaw with the meal though they list it as a side to the meal. Cheap, cheap, cheap in my book. 2. One of the hostess messed up when seating a large group and the manager chewed her out in front of everyone. Completely and totally inappropriate behavior for any manager let alone in front of quests. I am glad I don't work for him and if I owned this place would've fired him on the spot. 3. Several of our dishes were chipped, which I think in the food industry is not allowed and our waiter looked at use like we were nuts for even mentioning it. I honestly am not sure how in the world they have received 4-5 stars. They do have numerous TV 's so many might consider them more of a sports bar.

The brunch is great. The pepperoni pizza is delicious as well. Come hungry. The portions are large.

Midway is one of my very favorite places to go! The town is super cute and the atmosphere is great. The Grey Goose always has great foo d but the service isn't always great at this location. On this trip we got our pizza and our salads at the same time, even though the waiter asked if we wanted the salads out first. But do try the Pesto Pizza. It is awesome.

Not my first time here but will definitely be my last after last night's horrible dining experience. Good service has never been their forte but was tolerable until now. My daughter attempted to make reservations for my birthday dinner the day before but was told: " on no, you won't need reservations ". Well apparently we did. What restaurant frequented by Keeneland goers and horse people tells patrons they are sure they won't be busy at a time when the races let out and on a Saturday night. Ok.. We waited for 30 min after requesting an outside table, only to be taken to an inside table then met with a huff when we asked again to be seated outside. It was a fiasco to watch 2 people attempting to keep up with the wait list calling people who had already been seated and skipping over those that had been waiting an eternity. After finally being seated with no "welcome" and menus slung down on the table, waiting forever to be greeted by a server.. No napkins, no silverware.. We had to grab whatever employee we could to ask for silverware who brought back 2 sets when there were 3 of us. After asking for a 3rd set, it was slung down on the table with a glaring look. Had to constantly ask for refills only to be brought one glass with a "glob" of unidentifiable mass stuck to the inside. Again, had to flag down an employee. No apologies. Never removed the large amount of dirty pizza pans, dirty glasses and dishes that just continued to mount. I could hear the couple next to us order a beer only to be brought the wrong brand and then be told by the waitress: "ha! I didn't think that looked right".. Not even offering to get the right one! All in all.. Saw and heard many dissatisfied patrons. Pizza was good but the terrible and disorganized and rude service definitely outweighed the pizza. It always amazes me, that the waitress suddenly become friendly and attentive when delivering the check. Not sure what Grey Goose thinks they have to offer that will bring a customer back. Save your money folks.

Waitresses were always active and the food was great. Had what I call the broccoli poppers (forget the actual name of the appetizer) and a hot brown pizza. Fast service and even better in a very historical place. Railroad track outside and seeing a train come through was what made the experience even better.

We were excited to try this restaurant. It is close to us and we had heard good things. Unfortunately, this was an awful experience. To begin with, we were seated in a spot where there should not have been a table. Staff buzzed by us constantly and at one time we basically had to duck as someone lifted dripping racks of glasses over our heads. Ordered a Gin and Tonic. Came with no lime. Couldn't find the waiter to fix so I had to get up and go to the bar to get one. My wife ordered a ribeye which arrived without a steak knife. I eventually ran the waiter down to get one. The salad never arrived. We finished our drinks, our water and that was it. No refills on water. No chance to order another drink (thought restaurants make a good margin on alcohol). Sad thing is that the food was all pretty good but not good enough to make up for such lousy service. We spent $66 buck and went home irritated.

Great Pizza, and open on Sunday (one of the few places in Midway that can claim that). Their menu is the same as the Lexington location, yet their patio is in front of the restaurant so you can sit out on Midway's Main street and enjoy a tasty brew. The inside is a bit dark in the winter, but the food is still good.

Perfect spot in a perfect little town! The food is delicious, the staff is awesome, and the drinks were great. I had the ribeye cooked to perfection with a grilled wedge salad and it was fantastic. Billy made me a Woodford Manhattan Martini and I loved it! Savannah, my server recommended the caramel apple cheesecake for dessert and boy was she right. What a treat! We frequently dine at the Grey Goose in Lexington but also recommend the Midway location for a change of scenery. The patio is really nice and they offer live music during the warmer seasons. This is a wonderful little scenic drive from Lexington down Leestown Road to take out of town guests. They will truly appreciate it!

Words can not describe the experience of this restaurant. This is a place you will just want to keep coming back. Food is great and service is even better. The price will not break you either. Would recommend this place to everyone. The even have a nice patio and a full bar. Love the atmosphere.

This is the south! So I didn't expect to find much healthy food. This restaurant has tasty high calorie food. Midway is a ritzy town and there is a lot of money so this restaurant can afford to be on the pricey side. Customer service was good. The food was a bit on the greasy side but it was tasty! I really enjoyed the meal here (even though a little too heavy for lunch) Definitely try it out if you are in the area. The outdoor seating is nice.

Basically, what Mike C. said. You don't expect to find a place like this out in the boonies until you consider that Midway is a fairly wealthy town and weekend getaway for Lexingtonians. My burger and fries were muy delicioso. During the spring, sitting out on the patio is perfect.

Very enjoyable. Quaint town, good food & service! We sat outside by rose bushes - very lovely. Had Cheddar broccoli poppers, spinach salad, black bean burgers & a derby pie. All delicious! We were traveling on I-64, but intend to stop again when we are again in the area.

A wonderful experience every time! We have ordered a few different pizzas, the awesome wedge salad and the black bean burger. All the food was perfect. Fresh ingredients and some truly eclectic options. The biggest drawback is that the tables are crammed together. I can't wait to go back when it is warm and we can relax outside.

Just stopped for the 2nd year in a row on our way from WV to WY. The pizza special was delicious. Great little unexpected find in a great little town we lucked upon looking for gas.

Great spinach salads, burgers & pizzas. Love the patio. Only improvement could be beer selection on tap. Great atmosphere.

Well priced, large portions of tasty food. My burger arrived done perfectly and all staff I interacted with (bartender, host & chef) were cheerful and friendly. Pub food basically but done nicely. A great pause (and some needed food calories) from the Bourbon Trail!

I went to this cute little place on Easter Sunday! So thrilled it was open along with one or two other stores in this little town! The service was excellent and the puizza was so good I went to their other store with my Mom the next day in Paris Kentucky! Great service there too--pizza excellent! Liked the settings of both restaurants and the televisions. It was comforting and nice to have a quality place in town! Teresa the manager at midway was very nice and friendly and made sure everything was to our satisfaction! I highly rate giving both of these locations a try! Happy they are open Sundays for tourists and locals alike! Keep up the great work!

After spending a Sunday afternoon with friends at Keeneland, they recommended The Grey Goose for dinner for the four of us. It was a very good choice, and not just because there aren't many choices in Midway on a Sunday night. Wife wanted the artichoke spinach dip to start. Not just dip, but sliced ciabatta bread, topped with the dip and shredded cheese (parmesan?) baked slightly. Very good. The two of us shared one of their hand tossed (misshapen of course), thin crust pizzas. We tried the fried egg pizza. Spinach, mushroom, red onion, and bacon topped with a fried egg in the middle. Loved it. Our friends had the greek pizza. Spinach, sun dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, topped with feta cheese crumbles and pepperoncinis. I had a slice and it was wonderful too. Great place to have dinner with friends. We'll go back next time we're in the area.

I've been to this location several times. It is a little ways out from Lexington but worth the drive out. The atmosphere is like nothing in Lexington. The patrons seem to be regulars and all know each other and the service is great as well. I've had the pizza which was an excellent, it's a light version of a brick oven style...unlike any pizza that I've had in Lexington. The bean burger is excellent too.

A favorite place of ours! Great food, casual and pleasant atmosphere, even has outdoor seating. Service is always friendly. Food is consistent too. Whether burgers, pizza or a dinner, we've always been happy there.

On our way back to Indiana from Red River Gorge we stopped in the cute little town of Midway. It appears Midway rolls up the sidewalks on Sunday, so The Grey Goose was the only game in town for lunch. While they did have some vegetarian food that I would normally have tried, my anti-inflammation diet only allowed me a garden salad with oil & vinegar (it was fine). The pizza looked really good, and my friends enjoyed it. A couple of people got burgers and loved them, while others got chili and really enjoyed that. It was a nice casual place, owner operated, and the server was friendly and helpful. Plus, there is a great outdoor area to eat when it's nice, and they had some yummy sounding drinks. I would definitely go here again when I'm off this diet. I'm sure I would give this place a better rating after eating their "real" food.

Excellent humble dining option suggested by the Swans Nest B & B. The pizza was crisp, & thin (as it should be) cooked fresh and very tasty. The bourbon influenced beer hit the spot and the place was packed by locals....sure was a good sign! Would I go back...YES!

One of the restaurants on Midway's main (ahem, only) stretch, the Grey Goose is appropriate for almost all occasions. This place is a great compromise between a countryside restaurant and a Modern American bar. The menu has salads, sandwiches, and a couple entrées, but the pizza menu is where it's at. NY style flat crust pizza - the topping combinations are well thought-out and far superior to your boring go-to's at Dominoes. Atmosphere is family friendly, but also appropriate for a casual date or drinks with your buddies. The inside has a slightly rustic, country feel and the outdoor patio is spacious and awesome for lunch. They have a great beer menu with local favorites like Ky Ale and West 6th, complete with a cocktail list executed by their full-time bartender. Definitely worth a try.

We enjoyed eating at Grey Goose. Loved the atmosphere indoors and the patio in front. Had the fish & chips which were good.
