Amazing service! The staff is friendly and efficient, without a doubt a great choice for a fast but delicious solution for lunch and dinner.

China One is a great place for decent take out Chinese. Food is always fresh and servings are huge. I wouldn't recommend eating there since they have very few tables. I would highly recommend them for take out. Good prices for great food.

Tonight I tried China One for the first time, I really enjoyed my Shrimp Fried Rice. The service was awesome as well as the employees! I'll definitely will be going back!

I have to say, after several months of searching for my new Chinese spot, I think I hit a hole in one on this one. It's quick, pretty cheap, and tasty. If you want fancy, overpriced lettuce wraps accompanied by a bunch of sauces then waddle your buns over to PF changs. Me, oh I'll be here with all three of my chicken entrees (bourbon, sweet n sour, & fried rice) watching the walking dead as I slip into a food coma. Just remember, man who walks around with hands in pocket feels cocky.

I wasn't expecting much from this place but was very pleasantly surprised by how great their tofu is. Substitute tofu for meat in almost any dish. Bourbon chicken with tofu substituted is my favorite. Great prices.

My husband swears by this place. Quickest and best Chinese place we've found so far. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, always clean, food is always hot and delicious!

So cheap, so good. The crab rangoons are excellent. I usually get the shrimp chow mei fun, which I can literally make into three meals.

Everything is excellent. Best Chinese I've ever had. I ordered Seseme chicken (highly recommend) the chicken was well cooked and the sauce was even. I don't even know how you make rice as good as they do- but it was amazing! This is our go-to Chinese.

This is one of the best fast food Chinese places around. You can order online for pickup. We ordered take-out one Sunday evening & I can't begin to tell you how awesome it was. Since I wasn't sure how long it would take to prepare(after ordering online).. I live 5 minutes away & decided to wait 25 minutes after ordering to go pick it up. Upon arrival, the place was packed with others waiting for their take-out food. I stood there for a minute waiting on customers to finish up in front of me. When I approached to pay I said my name/carryout & my bag of food was already ready to go. Driving back home, I was curious how long it sit there & how fresh it would be. It was at least there for close to 5-10 minutes(while I waited in line). I was surprised at how fresh & hot everything was! Our bag of food consisted of Kung Pao Chicken(some of the best of that dish I've had), spring rolls(good but not great), egg rolls(also good but not great), onion rings(yeah... sue me for ordering these at a Chinese place-Also good), beef & broccoli(fantastic as well), an extra order of fortune cookies, & finally an order of Chinese Donuts(huge order for a fair price). The rice that came with the food was also great. All of that for right around 20 bucks. No complaints about this place... AT ALL! When I need an inexpensive fast food Chinese fix... I'll definitely be going here in the future.

Yum. Gen Gau's chicken was so darn good! It could have been cooked a little less, but the flavor was awesome! The veggie egg rolls were so good! Best I have ever had. They are light and crispy. The pre packaged condiments are so so tho. The veggie rice was so good! Food is served in take out styro boxes. Not fancy. So inexpensive! This place is a hidden gem.

I stopped into this place yesterday for some takeout with a friend around lunch time. The place is pretty small on the inside, so there isn't much 'for here' seating. Service was quick and efficient! I can't say much else about it since we were in and out in around ten minutes. My friend and I got the steamed dumplings, the General Tso's chicken with egg fried rice and a veggie egg roll, the chicken with mixed vegetables, egg fried rice, and a veggie egg roll, and broccoli with garlic sauce and white rice. I have to say- for lunch specials, the portions were huge! The dumplings were the largest I have ever seen and delicious to boot. A serving comes with 8, so you could fill up on these alone! Everything was great- my only complaints were that my chicken was mostly breading, the egg fried rice ONLY had egg in it (no veggies) and my chicken was definitely not as spicy as I had hoped. If you are a lover of spicy things, I would choose something else. Overall, I would return!

We stopped by China One on Eastern Parkway after the closing of our favorite Chinese take-out restaurant in south Louisville. The service was excellent and preparation was quick, as we were the only people in there at the time. Although the crab rangoons were a bit too sweet for my taste, the egg rolls were good. The chicken chow mein and orange chicken we ordered were excellent. The vegetables in the chow mein still had some crunch to them, so they were obviously not frozen. The sauce for the orange chicken had actual orange peel in it, and while a bit on the sweet side for my tastes, was still good. Overall, China One was a good source for inexpensive Chinese take-out, and we've found a new local favorite.

Lord have mercy. It's either good or bad news that I live just blocks away from this place. Very clean store, fast, cheap and the food knocked my socks off. Try the broccoli in garlic sauce or the mixed vegetables and tofu. The first was spicy and sweet but a little drenched in sauce. The second wants a little srirachi sauce. All around, my wallet and my waistline have a new threat.

I'm really picky with my Chinese food, and this is very good! Luckily I got on here because I would have never given it a try before taking all of these great reviews! They were fast and they have online ordering, which is even faster!

Open late and delicious. The first dozen reviews are right. Flavors and quality are worth the stop

Best take-out Chinese in Louisville. They have all the usuals, but they're all done extremely well. Their fried items are cooked perfectly in clean, fresh oil, the soups taste like actual soups (as opposed to gelatinous soup substitutes). They're very willing to customize and the entrees are generous. The fortune cookies are tasty and crisp and I know it sounds ridiculous, but even the fortunes are better than at other restaurants. I've had kitchen problems lately, so I go buy there and buy $30 of food and eat for a week.

I work next to this place and I didn't realize how good it was until my roommate picked up my usual from somewhere else. Their seasonings are great, their lo mein noodles aren't mushy, their rice isn't dry or overcooked, their chicken is cooked well but not tough. It's always consistent, you know you'll be served the same meal months apart. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and they are good at accommodating requests. I am definitely a regular, they know what I'm getting every time I come in. Usually in and out in less than 12 minutes. And they're next to a Walgreens and heine bros if you want dessert or coffee while you wait.

I usually don't care for Chinese food, since it's usually sub-par, and makes me fill ill. China one however is delicious! I find myself craving it. It's super affordable to feed the whole family!

I'm funny about my chinese food. There are very few where I will eat. My last "go to" place went out of business (Empress of China). So I had to "audition" several more for that infrequent chinese craving. After several failures I stumbled upon a few good reviews on another site for China One on Eastern Pkwy. I did not have high hopes when I entered. It is primarily a carry-out place with 5 or 6 tables. It looked like all the other fast food type chinese restaurants in town, only smaller. I went over the menu and they had a nice selection and the prices were very good. After sampling from a few of the combination plates at home, I was so excited over finding my new chinese restaurant that I called the restaurant just to tell them how good it was. They recognized me when I came back a few days later and confirmed I was the caller. I have already been back two more times and have not been disappointed. The sesame chicken, orange chicken, chicken lo mein are all very good. The fried rice and egg rolls are very good, but not great. They get the job done. I have asked for all white meat in certain entrees and been accomodated. Sometimes with a dollar up-charge, sometimes not. It is currently the only chinese carry out for me. Lunch combinations have more than one could normally eat, I believe all are less than $5.

This is by far, the best place to get quick Chinese food in the city. I've tried quite a few places and I'm usually pretty disappointed by the food. I've even thrown out entire meals before because they were that inedible. This place, however, is fantastic! I've ordered lots of different things on the menu and each one has been wonderful. I especially recommend the Singapore Chow Mei Fun. I could eat that daily. I also really like the fact that you can order your meal on their website. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone.

What a great little find! I work at GE and pass several other oriental restaurants to get to China One for lunch. The Chicken & Broccoli is outstanding. All of the entrees I've gotten have been well above par. Highly recommend!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
