The worst service I've ever had in my life. Our server was pathetic. The manager raised his voice at us when we told him of our experience. We paid our bill before we found him. No I don't expect free food. I expect tea with my meal. This place has great food. They need a new manager. Of you get Gracie, ask for a different server.

This was our first time to the oasis and I have to say I had very low expectations after reading some of the reviews. They have changed my mind for sure. Our waitress Charlotte made our visit here amazing. She was very pleasant and answered all our questions and suggested some great food. Now on to the food. My husband had the cowboy ribeye and was blown away by how good it was. The sides he ordered were the loaded baked potatoes and the mushrooms. The mushrooms were the only complaint he had and after telling our waitress she said she would have replaced them. I ordered the fried shrimp and was pleased. A couple of them were over cooked, but the portion size made up for the couple that I didn't want to eat. My sides were the potato salad and the fried okra. I have to say it's the best fried okra I've had in yrs. If you ever stop in I'd say ask to be sat in Charlotte's section.

Because I was staying at the Hampton Inn next door on a business trip, I ended up eating here a couple of times. Other reviews made me a little apprehensive, but both meals were very good. Some highlights: Rolls - very good, soft, like the ones from Texas Roadhouse Grilled telapia and shrimp - a bit spicy but pretty good for being in western Kentucky Filet mignon - pretty good and done well without being burned Baked potatoes - they could lose the aluminum foil wrapping, but still good enough I would eat here again, although it may be a while before I am back in the area again.

Steakhouse with lots of choices of meat! They have tilapia, shrimp, catfish, steak, ribs, pork chop, pulled pork burgers, etc. And each entree comes with 2 sides. Sides include mashed potato, sweet potato, fries, button mushrooms, steamed veggies, steamed broccoli, green beans, etc. The server we got was super nice and helpful. The grilled pork chop I got wasn't the best cause it was a bit dry, but their rolls are really good!! Comes out warm and fluffy! They also have lots of drinks and beer on tap. Lots of TVs for sports watching. And they even have smoking and non-smoking indoor seating. This restaurant is within walking distance to the Hampton inn.

Although the food was excellent, dining out isn't just about the food. We arrived early for dinner, expecting to be in and out in no time. Well... When we were seated at a small table, we asked to move to a four-person table. The hostess moved us - with a huff! The slow service started from there and continued throughout dinner. Two other tables who arrived after us, got their food before we were served. And we ordered the special. When we got our bill, the evening special was not discounted so the check had to go back to be corrected.

We have been coming to Lake Barkley for 12 years and have dined at the Oasis on several occasions. We had a chance to do so again last night and, although very busy, did not find the experience exceptional as we sometimes have in the past. The lady who served us was very good despite being very busy. We have no complaints about the food either. There were three individuals cleaning off tables across from us.. One of them picked up a couple of plates and threw them hard down into his tub... sounded like they broke... He thought it was funny, but honestly there was already enough noise and we did not need to see his unprofessional display which was a poor reflection of him and not something you would expect to see in a restaurant like the Oasis.

Ok. Not great. I had the ribeye, steamed veggies & baked potato. Steak was a little tough; not too bad but not a $20 steak. Veggies very skimpy (served in the same little black plastic cup as the butter for the potato), totally overdone and, although I asked and was told they were, didn't seem fresh. They seemed like the ones lazy cooks like me buy at the supermarket; a big bag already cut up & prepped. Potato was microwaved then wrapped in foil. Still trying to figure that one out. But the beer was cold & the server, in fact everyone, very nice. The music wasn't too loud and baseball was on all screens. And they have a smoking section! I''ll go back next time I get thru here.

The Oasis is a hit and miss sort of place. When it's good, it's good. When it's bad, well...it's really, really bad. No real consistency. Part of the problem is that this is the only type of this restaurant in the area and everyone flocks here, and I think this overwhelms them. Of course that doesn't excuse the warm beer, which seems to be a definite consistency when I come here. The food can be really good, if they're not busy. If they get really busy, the quality goes down the tubes.

My very polite waitress greeted me kindly and asked if I would like something to drink. I told her "hot tea". She said, sorry we don't have hot tea. I replied "how about bottled water?" . She responded "no sir, I am sorry we don't have bottled water either." "Is there something else I can get you?" My response "no, that's alright". She took my order and in just a few minutes she returned with an ice cold bottle of water. I said, "oh you found some water, great" She replied," I went next door and purchased it for you." I was very appreciative. I enjoyed my meal and upon delivery of the bill I noted to the waitress she did not add the beverage charge. She replied "no, that's on me." She had used her own cash money to purchase my drink! And! expected nothing in return! That's great service!

The food has improved here recently. I had a chicken sandwich that was actually tasty, and you can get a beer, which is a plus. The bar is not bad, but a couple of the TVs are off, consistent HD is a problem. The girls that work here are sweet, just a folksy vibe and usually good service. They have live music in the front over the summer, the usual Skynyrd cover bands, but fun nonetheless. Usually a steady crowd, Oasis is an apt name, probably the only place you can get a drink and watch a game for around 30 miles. A good option if you are on the lake and want something other than a Big Mac. The Cajun Pasta is a good pick, the rolls are fluffy, and the salads have bacon-what more could you want?

Ribs are amazing, however some corners have been cut to save money but has sacrificed quality/ taste. E.g. In-house ranch dressing or lack of bacon on salads make the salads forgettable.

I was in Kuttawa on business and was told this was the place to go. The only good thing was the food. Our bar drinks were horrible, we had three different waitresses, then had to wait an hour after dinner while they sorted out our checks with no real explanation. No one came to our table during this time so no refills on drinks or things being cleared awsy. There were 6 of us yes, but not that difficult of a task. No one apologized until we were leaving and the manager took that opportunity to point out one of us had not paid for a $1.99 drink. We paid for the drink because it was the right thing to do and the best thing to do is AVOID this place! Good food doesn't make up for horrible service. We wasted money and time here, hope no one else does either.

I've been a customer of the Oasis in Kuttawa since it opened. Over about the last year, the quality of food and service has declined. I visited during the first week of February, 2012 and this was my worst experience at Oasis to date. Service was slow, specials advertised on the front page of the menu weren't honored and the food was mediocre. I visited again on 03/04/12, and had an even worse experience. The salad I ordered was never brought (yet I was still charged for it), the "onion twisters" topping my steak were dripping with oil from the fryer, and the "Porterhouse" steak I ordered (and paid for) was actually a T-Bone. I asked the waiter about it, who promptly sent the manager on duty over. The MOD only argued with me and essentially told me I don't know a Porterhouse steak when I see one. If you enjoy overpriced mediocrity, the Oasis Southwest Grill in Kuttawa is definitely your kinda place!

I have eaten at the Oasis several times over the past 3 years. Some meals were excellent, others merely good . . . Until today. Unfortunately today's lunch was just awful. Country fried steak that was so overcooked it was hard as a brick and totally inedible. Ditto the wild rice. The green beans were slightly better, but not much. I should have sent it all back but I didn't want to make a "scene." On a positive note the server was very nice and the rolls were very good. Not sure if I will be back after this experience. Sad, really. Update: 2 years later (9/2/15) wife and I ate here again. Completely different experience this time. Had fried catfish and sides of rice and baked beans. All were excellent. Hush puppies were really good, as was the service. Nice to see such an improvement and felt it was only fair to update my previous review.

We went on a Sunday and the restaurant still has a lunch menu with several good items . My spouse ordered the turkey and dressing which was very good, some ordered the beef tips, and fried catfish. The catfish were small strips however they were good. Service was excellent and the prices for Sunday lunch just can't be beat. One of our favorite dining spot in Western Kentucky, Plenty of parking out front, clean restrooms and lost of seating. Excellent var area is very large. Lots of TV sets all over the restaurant so you will not miss any sports activities.

We were there for dinner last Saturday, 6/6/15. The place was busy, but we got seated fairly quick. They seated us in a booth right next to their food staging area where they put dishes on trays to be taken to the tables. Let's just say we won't be back here again. Here are the reasons why: - The steamed broccoli comes out in a plastic baggy with a small bowl for the server to transfer. That may not be a big deal for most but what of the BPAs? · Macaroni cheese or some type of tubular pasta in a cream sauce also came out nuked flat in a pasta bowl with an empty bowl where the server transfer so it looks freshly cooked and doesn't appear as it just came out of a microwave · Seen several servers have dirty rags dangling on their back pocket, not sure the use of it, but seen them wiping the food off of a plate before taking out to the table, wiping some food that got on their fingers, really hoping it was not the same rag they wipe the tables with · And the worst thing ever, drum roll please, is they touch food with their bare hands. I mean grabbing the food! With unwashed bare hands!!! The guy who appear to be some type of manager that puts dishes on the tray picked up some kind of fried balls, maybe hush puppies, onto a different plate. And the server rearranged them with her bare hands too, wow! Within a couple of minutes, the same server, who was shaking the microwave steamed broccoli out of the plastic bag picked up a floret that fell on the tray with her fingers and threw it on the bowl. We apologized to our server that we can't stay for dinner after seeing all that. She tried to assure us by saying they wash their hands. I assured her that they didn't wash their hands in between touching the food, trays, their hair, and dirty rags, etc.

We have been coming to this restaurant every Memorial Day for over 8 years now. We've always had a decent experience....until tonight. They were busy, which I understand. The server was new, also understandable. However, we waited an hour for our food. I ordered a simple grilled chicken salad. I received a fried chicken salad....and it was literally the size of a side salad. The tomatoes were rotten. The lettuce was brown. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. (Please note, this salad was $10.00) Needless to say, I got the manager and explained my situation. He offered to fix me a new salad which would only take a few minutes. (Again, we had already waited an hour) I agreed. 10 minutes later, he brought a new salad with grilled chicken, just as small as the first one. I give up! We had to pay full price for the meal, which I feel should have been comped. The manager apologized before we left and said that he hopes our next experience is better. Unfortunately, we will never be returning. I'd rather go to Wendy's next door.
