A great happy hour spot, with outdoor seating and fantastic margaritas (whether you like them frozen or on the rocks). They get 5-stars from me for the margaritas alone. They're delicious and they're strong -- and a bargain at $3.99. The salsa is fresh and tasty, though not always consistent (sometimes it's hotter than other times, or has more cilantro than the visit before, but I've always loved it). The food is standard Mexican fare. Fajitas are served on a sizzling griddle, the refried beans have cheese on top, etc. The food is always good... but I come for the margaritas. Don't judge. ;) And the location is perfect. It's right on St. Clair Street, in downtown Frankfort, near the Old Capital.

Thank goodness that downtown Frankfort finally got another food option! The food is reasonably priced and the portions are a fine size. The lunch specials run about $6 plus a drink. The restraurant is usually very clean, the staff is nice and prompt (my drink is never empty!), and it's a quick sit-down option. The salsa is pretty tasty, and my food is typically pretty good. I've had a few issues of soggy burritos and tacos the past couple times I've been (ick) but everything else was fine. I hear their margaritas and sangria are good.

I have enjoyed a few meals here. The service has always been nice and the food has been served quick, fresh, and warm. This is the exact kind of Mexican food one would expect to find in the area. Many of the same items on the menu as most Mexican restaurants with decent prices and specials on alcoholic drinks with entertainment and plenty of seating. I live nearby and I walk past the place and see it so full it is out the door and the workers are busy trying to take care of all their customers. I give it three stars because I feel the food is too average. The refried beans taste better than some other places and actually taste kind of like a bean, but everything else is just average. I like my Mexican to have more flavor with a bit of a kick loaded with cilantro and veggies.

Salsa is quite good! Less than average food, my husbands chimichanga was about the size of a deck of cards! However: the Margarita special for $3.99 on Saturday was nice, that drink was stout! TVs had football playing. Way better Mexican restaurants in Frankfort, but the drinks cannot be beat especially on a Saturday night!

Super nice staff, fast service, good food (and salsa), free WiFi, and downtown. Too good to be true, but it is!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
