I ordered the Beef Curry and it was great. I dined in and must have showed up around shift change (3 PM)...there were 8 or 9 employees. Service was prompt and friendly and my food showed up quickly. On a side note, a couple of employees were sitting at a table when other employees started bringing out platter after platter of food, soon filling the table with so much food I wondered what was going on. In the next five minutes 3 more employees showed up with plates and sat down. I guess around shift change is when the staff enjoys one of their meals...they had their own heaping mini-buffet, the chop sticks were flying and some lively friendly conversation going on. I always like it when the cooks and staff enjoy eating their own food.

This is take-out, standard-issue American-style Chinese. The restaurant is loud, small, smoky, poorly-appointed, and harshly lit. The tables are uneven, often dirty, and rather ugly. The staff is the rudest collection of humans serving food I've ever encountered. I'm not exaggerating about this. They shout aggressively at customers, argue at the slightest miscommunication, and will not return simple "thank yous" and "have a good days." They hand you your food by saying "here" or nothing at all and look away for the next person to mistreat. I've been here many times to experience this, with last night the latest episode. Why have I kept coming back? Well, for standard-fare American Chinese the food is pretty good. Stir-fries are always freshly prepared: veggies are crisp, food is super-hot, beef will even sometimes have the slightest amount of pink in it. Dumplings and soups are not especially fresh, so be careful with those. But if you stick to fried rice and Mongolian beef-type stuff, it's about as good as you'll find in that cuisine. Probably almost as good as PF Chang's, really. But the service, though. It's just horrible. Ordering and receiving food from them is a dehumanizing experience. I always feel crappy walking out of there. So I've gone less and less frequently over the years (it's very close to my house), as I realized that they just weren't changing this aspect of their business. When you consider that the food is good but not very exciting--and certainly no different than what you can get at ten million other places in this country--I'm not sure my desire for Mongolian beef is strong enough to make me want to get it from here. You'll have to weigh your own desire for freshly-made standard-fare cuisine with your personal tolerance for customer abuse. I'm about done, I guess, because I don't think I want to give my business to these subhumans any longer.

Good food, but absolutely awful service. If you're getting it to go it's not awful, if you aren't put on "hold" for too long. Hold is in quotes because they just set the phone down on the counter until they feel like talking to you.

This restaurant uses extremely hot, high temperature to prepare their food. The sweet and sour anything is consistently burned,as is anything that is fried. I placed a delivery order, and their website allows you to make preparation requests. I asked them to "Please do not burn the chicken. Thank you". And it arrived, half burnt. People who dine in apparently do not receive burned food, hence the 5 star ratings. If you order anything to be delivered, let the buyer beware.

This place is fantastic. All of the locations I have visited are great, but the Hillside location is the best. Favorites on the menu: sesame shrimp, Saigon noodles, Happy Family and General Tso's chicken. The lo mein is also very good. You get a lot of food really fast, and it's still the best quality.

I purchased beef broccoli and pork fried rice at approximately 8:15p 11 July I had nearly finished eating the meal later that evening when I noticed an insect leg in the pork fried rice I returned it just before 10p At first they said it was an onion then Great Wall offered a new pork fried rice I asked for a refund and they did issue an refund. I give a 1 star due to the fact that I still felt sickened by the thought of eating any part of a insect.

The best fried shrimp in Wichita. Well-sized and buttery, their shrimp is deep-fried in the crispiest panko coating I have ever tasted. You'd never guess from the looks of it, but this location's fried shrimp and chicken wings (available here only) keep it pretty busy. Yet that's not why I started going to Great Wall. They've always had a location near me, and their late hours were my best option after a night of class. Also, their Crab Rangoon is unlike any other around. It's grown on me so much, I can't even eat Crab Rangoon anywhere else now. The chicken teriyaki is another standout appetizer. Let's be real here, though: this is greasy fast food. If that's not your style, I'd move on. But if you could go for some really good pork fried rice and sweet & sour chicken, look no further than Great Wall. The prices are just as awesome as the food, especially during lunch hours. The service at every location I have visited has always been fast and accurate. Would recommend carry-out; they have seating but it's more of a self-serve kind of place.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
