Tacos good, manager bad. Walked in at 2:30, manager was on the phone and I was invisible. I was leaving when a minion took my order, manager was put out, as he was in front of the register and had to move out of the way. Hot sauce bottles empty and encrusted with dried sauce. Tacos here are ok, Taco Bell and Taco Bueno are pretty similar in taste and quality to these. Manager needs to manage here.

Fish tacos are the bomb!!! Everyone in there is super friendly too. If you have a membership to Snap Fitness down the road, show your ID card and you'll get 10% off!!! Made me love Twisted even more when we found out that tip!!

Quick easy and delicious! Mahi tacos are incredibly nice. Potato salad is better than most. Everything is served with a bit more sophistication than we expected. Younger staff is friendly too.

Man, I really do love this place. No frills, very clean space, prep area (you can watch them put together your order), nice & friendly staff and I LOVE the Thai Chicken Salad. I've taken friends here and they love it just the same as I do. When you step in the door, it's usually a little crowded but there is still good space between tables and such. I tend to go at lunch time so that's part of it too. But, despite the crowd, the area where you get silverware, napkins, soda, etc.. is always pretty clean. When you step up to put in your order, I've never had an issue with my odd order; Thai Chicken Salad, only slaw, no lettuce (which they call green, lol) It's a great blend of shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, grilled chicken, a little bit of shredded cheese and the yummiest honey siracha sauce EVER! I use every drop of the container. I've watched how they put things together and they don't seem to use any extra oils, butters, etc. The chicken is simply grilled and always moist. Once it arrives in my hands, I dive in slowly and savor the great flavors. It's also HUGE. I eat it for two to three lunches... and it stays crunchy the next days too.

A decent spot for lunch, service is quick, parking is a hassle. Tacos were good, but nothing that really stands out in my mind.

Another hidden gem in the boondocks of 66226! The ordering line is a bit confusing (imo); while I was dining, there were 3 customers who walked to the food line and then back up to the front to order. Nonetheless, the food itself was SO good and so fresh. Getting your food takes a bit longer than your average quick stop place - however, realize that they do not serve these wraps/sandwiches/tacos pre-made and slapped onto a plate. Take that extra five minutes and realize they're preparing a great meal for you! Prices were reasonable, running right around $7 as an average. Some even include a side.

I've never heard of Twisted but it came up on my trusty Yelp app on a lenten Friday afternoon on my journey to finding a decent fish taco. I called after work for a pick-up. I ordered two of the fish taco meals ($7.25) and headed over to Shawnee. For a Friday afternoon (during Lent like aforementioned), I would've expected it to be a bit busier, but at least my order was ready upon arrival. Tacos looked pretty standard, pretty full with all the trimmings and drenched in the salsa (wish it would've come on the side). I could have done without the honey-flavored sauce and would've rather had just a standard salsa (maybe I will request this next time). The Cajun grilled whitefish was pretty damn good. The spicy thai slaw was decent but I felt it was competing with the other flavors of the taco instead of complimenting it. Between the spicy slaw, pico de gallo and the honey aioli, it just felt like overload. I would recommend something simpler but maybe that's just me. I'd definitely go back, though I'd probably customize my order next time.

I've had fish tacos at many places in San Diego. I've had them on the East coast as well. I swear the best fish tacos I have ever had are at a strip mall a 10 minute walk from my house. Twisted has a wide variety of food - wraps, hamburgers, tacos, burritos. I'm sure they're great. Occasionally I have swayed and had a burger or a wrap. And I've never been disappointed. Except they never match up to the fish tacos. The chicken tacos and beef tacos are outstanding as well. But they're not the fish tacos. Listen. Do yourself a huge favor. If you live within 2 hours of Kansas City, drive to the middle of nowhere Shawnee, at the intersection of Shawnee Mission Parkway and Monticello, ask the high school kid there for an order of fish tacos for here. Sit down, wait for your name to be called, pick up your order, wolf down those three hot fish tacos, and tell me your mind is not blown.

Pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. We had some trouble finding a spot to sit. I tried the mahi tacos and the hubs had a bacon BBQ burger. Both were freaking delish. We will be back. My only beef is that they wouldn't let me have one of each kind of taco, but dudes, I made the right choice with the mahi.

Beat place hands down, then any other in Kansas City. U will not be disappointed with the food here. Service, freshness and cleanliness is excellent .

My husband and I decided to find something completely different since we were way out in Western Shawnee (THANK YOU YELP).. Twisted was delicious! the building room was so much smaller than it should have been. As per normal, we decided to get 2 different wraps and trade a half each! He got the jerk chicken and I got the gyro. both of us got wheat tortillas. Ohman. SO GOOD. I actually think the jerk was a little better. but both were delicious.

Love love love this place and their mahi tacos. I call in an order for carry out at least once a week! They have a location out south as well. I recommend both.

Great food and staff but a little warm inside for this family. Will be back but may have to take it to go. We loved the tacos and wraps!

Twisted is a great place to get a casual semi-fast meal of pretty good quality. The place is small and staffed by kids who appear to be in HS or early college. That said, their staff works as hard and as fast as any I've seen. They seem to really want to do a good job on every order and take pride in their work. In some ways, Twisted is a victim of it's own success as they quickly get overwhelmed with peak traffic and phone orders. The work area gets sloppy and organization breaks down quickly leading to over-cooked food and delays in orders leaving the kitchen. They are generally very consistent with the food and it's always pretty tasty. I've never had anything bad here, but nothing is really outstanding. Expect quick food that is never awesome, but always 'good'. Their bacon hickory burger is my favorite but they have a bad habit of charring the outside of their burgers a bit too much, even when ordered medium. Good food, relatively fast with no fuss. I'm becoming a regular. Save time by calling in your order and picking it up.

I get this craving for a cobb salad now and then. I've had an issue finding a decent one since moving to KC. Coworker brought me here for lunch a few months back, and now when I crave a cobb, Twisted's grilled chicken cobb wrap is what comes to mind. It's fresh, flavorful and filling. Service is great, nice (albeit small) location. Reasonable prices. I highly recommend for lunch!

After reading reviews on YELP, I decided to stop in for lunch on the way home from the airport. We ordered the mahi mahi tacos & OMG they were delicious! The sauce looked & tasted like French dressing, but against the crunchy slaw (which included fresh bean sprouts), pepper jack & fish, it was perfect. They use two taco shells, which made them easier to eat. The only negative thing is that the place is small & it's hard to get a table at lunchtime. I'll be back!

My favorite place in Kansas City for fish tacos. . .there are three of them and they will satisfy your hunger as well as leave you feeling healthy and happy. . .i typically will pass over many places to eat just to get there, but never have any remorse for doing so. . .

Good food, definitely pick-up and take out. As the restaurant is noisy and not conducive to much more than waiting for your order.

  • Tyler H.

The food is excellent. I usually get the bbq wrap, but the buffalo wrap is great, too, if a bit hot for a pansy like myself. Cheeseburgers are chargrilled and the buns are buttered; and they taste good. There isn't a ton of seating, but they do a lot of call-in/carry-out orders.

I only go here for the buffalo chicken wrap and buffalo chicken tacos. Its the best food money can buy hands down.

Excellent. Fresh. Delicious. The cajun chicken tacos are great.... But, the Mahi tacos... Oh, man... That's some next level stuff goin on right there. Cajun fish in a crispy shell surrounded by a melted cheese covered tortilla, all topped with a fresh crispy slaw, and delicious sweet and slightly spicy marinated tomatoes. Highly recommend!

Oh my GOOD..NESS!! 1 of the best fish tacos I have ever had! The Cajun chicken tacos were the bomb too....DEEElish!

This has been on my to-try list for a long time. It was good. Now that I've experimented a little, I'll order differently and I'm sure it will be even better. I tried the Chicken Gyro and the Spicy Thai Chicken wraps. The gyro is too salty, but I think it's the feta. Next time, I'll leave off the feta and I think it'll be close to perfect. Spicy Thai was one of those things I knew in my heart I probably wouldn't like, but I really wanted to try something different. I liked the slaw, but the rest wasn't that exciting. It is spicy, but not too spicy. The flavor profile just didn't hit me quite right, so it wasn't my favorite thing ever. Someone else might love it, but it wasn't for me. It's nice to see a place that employees young people, but they still act professional and produce a good product. They are obviously getting some good guidance and have some pride in their work.

  • Amanda F.

The Cajun mahi mahi tacos are the bomb!! Sooooo good! They have a honey aioli that is so yummy! I've actually never tried anything else off the menu, but the place is normally busy so I'm guessing everything else is pretty good. The service is a bit slow, though. That's why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars.

    (4)
  • Jacob S.

I've had 3 of the wraps (wife, kids and I shared). In all nothing spectacular, nothing horrible. My expectations were probably just set too high based on what I'd heard. In all, I wouldn't tell anyone to avoid, nor would I go out of my way to recommend - I'll just be like "yeah, I've had it."

This is fast food taken up a big notch! The reasons boil down to great ingredients (fish! lots of fresh veggies!), healthier options (grilled, not fried, salads, and wraps), big flavors (thai, jerk, etc), and people that seem to like their jobs (great & friendly service). We looked up restaurants before travelling to Shawnee, and were very happy with our lunch here. It's not a place where you can relax in a cushy booth with wine and a fancy dinner, no. You order at the cash register and they call your name to pick it up at the open counter next to the grill, then you bring it back to your table in it's plastic basket. You can see everything as they're preparing it, including big flames at their awesome grill. We loved the freshness of everything, and how they personalized our order calling our names a couple of times to verify this or that (which cheese on our burger, did we want onions on it, and how done did we want the meat?) We loved the Mahi Mahi fish tacos (a bit spicy, very flavorful) and grilled burgers. We were really impressed with the staff. Will go here again for sure!

  • Jennifer A.

I'm a fan of anything that served fish tacos and the fish isn't fried first. So this place is good in my book. The tacos were super tasty, especially for a "fast food" place. They got my order for takeout ready pretty fast, service was good. The atmosphere was lacking a little bit, but over all it was good. I will be back for sure!

  • Jan K.

One of our family favorites. Everything is always fresh and good! And, I love that you can make any wrap into a salad or a taco if you'd rather. And the daily specials, yum! Especially the Joe. The service is always great and the owner and kids that work there are the best. Always friendly.

Great place. Best wraps ever. Love the Buffalo chic wrap. Place is clean and located conveniently. Potato salad recipe needs to be revamped, would not recommend it as a side.

Wonderful selection. The Southwest Chicken and the Cajun Mahi Mahi tacos are incredible. They had a Kung Pao wrap on special today. I said yes please. I wasn't disappointed. Big portions for a reasonable price. This is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

  • Kay L.

Surprisingly good sandwiches & "twists" (hot wraps) from an unassuming strip-mall storefront. Everything is freshly cooked to order & there's a wide selection that will keep both the veggies & the omnis happy. My chicken gyro twist was savory & delicious. The "German" potato salad, which was obviously made in store, fell a little short -- the potatoes were undercooked, thus a little crunchy -- it was just a standard potato salad, it wasn't even remotely teutonic; but it had bits of sweet red pepper in it that really livened it up. They also do party trays, if you want something different for your next gathering.

Love this place. Staff is friendly, food is great and I love their twisted rewards card. I probably go to eat there once a week. My favorite is the Spicy Thai Chicken wrap and the Cobb Chicken Salad. Ive heard their Fish Tacos are delicious although I have yet to try them. What I love is their Spicy Aoli Sauce.

  • Douglas B.

It's good but way overpriced. After you add a bag of chips and a drink, your bill is as high as a full service sit down restaurant.

  • Kevin S.

This is not your run of the mill strip mall restaurant. The Mah-Mahii tacos are the absolute best fish tacos I have ever had. (I will readily admit that fish tacos are not something I often order, but they were recommended to me and did not disappoint.) Twisted is now a regular on the catering circuit at my work, so I have had the opportunity to taste most of their wraps, as well as their chicken tacos. Everything from Twisted has been fantastic. Even though it is across the street from my work, and far from my home in KCMO, I often will drive there on weekends for their deliciousness.

  • Dave C.

Tip: Twisted used to have an item on the menu that is no longer listed, their Mahi sandwich. If you're looking for a fish sandwich that is without doubt a cut above the rest, ask for this one when placing your order! (This is the same fish they use in their much touted fish tacos.) The simplicity, fresh preparation, and taste of, make the menu offerings at Twisted well worth a stop by. Chances are, once you do, you'll be back.

Wow -- you want to experience fish taco heaven, you have to try this place. They are made fresh when you order, and they are delicious. Warning, they are spicy. But you will keep eating and eating, no matter how on fire your mouth is. Yes, the are that good. I haven't tried anything else there, just the fish tacos. They cause a bit of an addiction. Yes, it is out on the edge of the KC burbs', but totally worth the drive. Luckily I only have to drive a short few miles to this slice of heaven.

This place put me into a fish taco frenzy! Once I had the Mahi Mahi fish tacos here, I felt compelled to start ordering fish tacos every where I went. I will say that without a doubt, in my many travels, hands down, they are the yummiest morsels of goodness that I have had. And to have this joint in Shawnee, less than a mile from my house is just bad mojo, I have to constrain myself from eating there all the time. I have had other items on the menu and I can say that all the food is very good. My kids love the cheddar turkey wrap. I had the barbecue cheese burger once and it was very tasty as well. The wraps are great and I love the fact that they will make any item on the menu into a salad as well. My only complaint, as with all my complaints in Shawnee, is the service is lackluster at best. You can tell a big difference in the attitudes when Allen (Owner) is there driving the system. My fear is with his expansion, without strong management and a passionate staff, this place might start to falter. Check your togo orders as well, we have ordered togo a couple of times and 2 of 3 were screwed up resulting in the drive back to have them correct it, which they did/do. Do it; do it now!

I love Twisted! Usually I don't like restaurants with only one vegetarian option, but the Spicy Thai Veggie wrap keeps me coming back. They can add black beans to it for no additional charge. Make sure to scan the FrontFlip QR code for a chance at a coupon. I applaud Twisted for being a fresh, clean, and unique restaurant. I give them a very well deserved 5 star rating.

Hey sweet thang, can I buy you some fish tacos?! I just had to check this place out given the awesome reviews it got and I'm glad I did! I've actually been there three times since then and plan to go back many more. : ) As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a delightful aroma from the fresh food being cooked right there behind the counter. The rest of the restaurant, although a bit small, was very clean and had a good atmosphere. The first two times I ordered the Cajun Fish Tacos. I love how they wrap a soft shell around the hard shell to keep the tasty goodness from falling out of the bottom. Absolutely amazing flavor combination with Cajun Grilled Whitefish, Spicy Thai Slaw, Pepper Jack Cheese, Pico de Gallo, and a sweet & spicy Sriracha Honey Aioli sauce to top it off. I also tried the California Turkey Wrap and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap which were both pretty good too. I really appreciate that everything is completely fresh, cooked right there in front of you with quality ingredients all for a decent price.

Great new place in Western Shawnee. I love the fact that it isn't a chain and their menu is all fresh! We have eaten here several times and everyone has always liked what they got. My favorite are the Buffalo Chicken Twist (Wrap) and the mahi mahi tacos. They are great, and also for the price you can't beat it!

Best wraps ever. We ordered the Twisted Chicken Gyro and the Buffalo Chicken Twist. Both were great and very reasonably priced. Walked out of there for under $15.

Twisted is totally unexpected and amazingly good. I have been craving it ever since I tried the Thai Chicken wrap. The sign and store front does not boast or brag, it's just a simple little shop in the strip mall next to Pizza Shoppe. Honestly, I thought it was one of those dreadful yogurt shops that keep popping up everywhere. Twisted offers fare for every person. They have a plethora of meat items as well as vegetarian items. Wanna know a cool secret? They can make any menu item into a salad! I opted for the Thai Chicken wrap. As far as the Thai portion, it was the sauce that gives it the name. It is a wonderfully rich honey aoili mixed with Sriracha. That might not be Thai, but it's amazing. The chicken and vegetables were grilled fresh and they use whole wheat tortillas. The thai coleslaw was a nice touch. It really made it fresh and tangy. The fish tacos are unbelievable, and I don't care for fish! I am so stoked to try all the other menu items like the chicken gyro, the chicken tacos, and the turkey pesto wrap. It's not a fancy place by any means, but it's clean and has the feel of a nice deli or sandwich shop. I can't wait to come back!

  • Stephanie G.

YES, YES, YES, YES!!!! I LOVE this place!!! It is right by my office which is awesome, but the food itself is AMAZING!!! I have tried a ton of the wraps as well as the chicken tacos and fish tacos. Everything is great (except for the wraps with cold chicken...that crap is dry and bland, so opt for the vegetarian version or get a hot wrap where the chicken is cooked fresh). There are a lot of vegetarian options which could easily be made vegan by opting out of the cheese! This place is absolutely amazing. Go, go, go, go, go! Oh, and they cook everything made to order, so while it is fast, there can be a bit of a wait depending on how busy they are. That said, you can call ahead so if you are in a rush you don't have to wait around! Oh, and the owner is the cook and the same people are always in there working and are very friendly! I cannot say enough great things about this place! I hope they franchise and spread into more locations!

So we were in Shawnee and saw this place called twisted and decided to try it out !! All I can say is Chipolte better step up their game!! I had a spicy Thai veggie wrap and my husband had the blackened mahi mahi wrap ...I have never had such a great wrap . Everything was fresh .. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly .. Definitely my new favorite place to eat when I'm in Shawnee.

I never write reviews for places- good or bad. BUT I thought this place had excellent food. I can't speak to the service or place because my husband brought the food home to me. We ordered the Mahi Mahi fish tacos and a BBQ chicken wrap of some kind. We split both of them and thought they were both very flavorful and fresh. It is a great place for something different when you need something fast and want to eat something with veggies and other fresh ingredients.

Love this place!! I want to try more items on the menu, but I just can't tear myself away from the Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos!! Oh so yummy! And it's clean and SUPER friendly!!

I have absolutely no idea what the restaurant's name, Twisted, has to do with the food. But give me good, real food; and you can name the place whatever you damn well please. Sandwiches, wraps, and tacos. That's what this place does. Chicken is the protein of choice, but they also have burger, turkey, and fish. It's not that any one thing at Twisted is special. Everything on their menu can be found within one square mile at a competitor's establishment. What sets Twisted apart is the concept and quality. Its not a drive through with warmed, previously frozen ingredients. It's not a sit down, have a server take your order restaurant. It's a relatively quick (not to be mistaken for fast) counter service done with fresh ingredients. Crisp house made slaw, chicken with the texture of chicken instead of sponge, and get this; you can get fresh fruit for a side! Sometimes it's the little things that win you over. I've had many buffalo chicken wraps at many places. Twisted now has my favorite. The reason? Celery in the wrap. Why does no other place do this? It seems like a natural part of anything buffalo, but I've never seen anyone else do it. Well done. Definitely a lunch or quick dinner sort of place. Definitely worth stopping in on a semi-regular basis. Should you drive from the other side of KC to get to it? Probably not. But if you're in the area, you'll be happy you came.

Move over same ole same ole! Theres a new sheriff in town, here in these Western Shawnee parts! and its name is TWISTED! Just opened a week ago, and in an area where there isnt much to choose from. It is absolutely delicious! Very clean, Very organized, VERY FRIENDLY This is a sandwich, burger, taco place. I came and asked to recommend something, and Alan (owner) gave me a very good run down of everything. My daughter had the cheeseburger, she said it was "amazing" (but of course she likes everything) price: $4.25 and it came with chips and a drink :) cool! I had ordered the Cajun Chicken Tacos, except I had it put into a wrap, it was Cajun grilled chicken breast with pepper jack cheese, avacado, shredded lettuce, black beans, and corn salsa. price: $6.75 It was delicious! chicken was nice and moist and the whole wrap was full of flavors! If you are ever out here in those no mans land of Western Shawnee, you have to stop on by! Alan is as nice as they come, and i know would love your business!!

Finally, some decent food in West Shawnee. In an area dominated by fast food, bar food, and the insufferable offerings of the worst chain restaurants, it is truly remarkable how much Twisted stands out. Wraps and sandwiches cooked to order. The use of quality, fresh ingredients. Friendly, fast service. All at an affordable price. To get an idea of the quality of the food, simply imagine an entree that you would order at a $15-per-plate restaurant. A wrap here is as good as any wrap I have ever had from any restaurant at any price - grilled spinach, good cheeses, tender chicken breast. Important: vegetables are CRISP and not soggy from sitting in grease. I would highly recommend the Hot Spicy Thai Wrap. The food here really falls into three categories, wraps, sandwiches, and tacos. The first two can be served either hot or cold. After 5 visits I have had 5 different items and each of them is very yummy, and very affordable. With a drink and chips/fruit you will be spending right at or below $10. Seating is quite limited. The location also faces South so the winter sun just pounds through the windows, making it slightly hot and bright if you're unlucky enough to be seated towards the entrance. But none of these complaints have kept me from going back.

Wow, great ratings...I'm missing something here. I had the opportunity to eat here with my daughter at approximately 3pm on a Tuesday. Probably 10 customers in the establishment. First impression: The food preparation area was filthy. It wouldn't hurt to take a putty knife to that stove every once in a blue moon. She ordered the beef tacos and I ordered the fish tacos. I believe the beef tacos had a chopped up hamburger patty in them. The tacos are a corn shell wrapped in a flour shell with cheese sandwiched between (taco bell has been offering something like this for years). Anyway, not great, but not terrible. The fish tacos were "meh". Overall, forgettable. I believe the high reviews must originate from the locals out there... I just don't see how this restaurant collected such good reviews.

I've eaten fish tacos from coast to coast. I've tried them grilled, baked, fried, you name it. The Mahi Mahi tacos from Twisted are literally the best fish tacos I've ever had. I love that they combine both corn and flour tortillas. The flavor of the fish is top notch and the toppings (asian style slaw and sriracha honey aioli) are a perfect complement: spicy without being overwhelming.

The other reviews are right on here. This new sandwich/wrap/taco joint is a refreshing addition to Western Shawnee. It is a nice concept too. The owner is on site and the food consists of higher quality ingredients than the chain sandwich shops. It's a little more expensive than Subway or Mr. Goodcents, but you get what you pay for at Twisted. The chicken is grilled fresh when the order is placed and freshly sliced fruit is a side dish option. We split a BBQ, Bacon, and Cheddar Chicken wrap and a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. The BBQ wrap was good, but the Buffalo Chicken Wrap was awesome. The small slices of celery inside were a nice touch. I'm looking forward to trying the tacos next time.

Tried the heralded mahi mahi tacos on a whimm... ehh, ok i guess. Not sure why you wouldn'd just whip em up on your own. The hard shell wrapped in a soft shell is a nice touch, but again, just ok. Don't go out of your way, but don't avoid either.

I saw this place open up a few months ago (I think) and didn't really know what it was until I looked up a menu online. I stopped there today on a whim, and will certainly be going back. Great service, and great sandwich! I got the chicken gyro wrap. Chicken had a great grilled flavor, and everything was fresh. The staff pay attention to detail. There are a lot of options for wrap flavors (spinach, tomato basil, etc.). Can't wait to try the tacos.

Awesome! Love this convenient, fast, fresh restaurant. You can order anything custom, like the buffalo chicken wrap with the sauce on the side, as it is spicy! Great choices for kids, too!

Dinner at Twisted was different. The fish tacos were good but three of them with all that spice was too much. I requested to try one of each; beef, chicken, and fish. The young woman at the register said they couldn't make them that way because they were set up to serve them in quanities of three. Really? How can you not make three separate tacos differently? I've ordered tacos at restaurants all over the country for years and never had a problem changing the ingredients in each one. Anyway, I liked the fish tacos but six hours later the spices are having a negative effect on my sleep! The slaw also made them very soupy and messy to eat. Had it been drained a bit that would have made for easier eating. The restaurant needed a good cleaning. Tables were not cleaned and the stools had food on them. The bathroom was acceptable. They had customers but not so many they didn't have time to the clean tables. I was down to my last taco when I saw the young man who works preparing food giving his nose some servicing. I watched as he did this a couple of times and then took his visor off and messed with his hair, didn't wash his hands, and then put gloves on. He needs to have a serious lesson in personal hygiene. Not washing his hands before putting the gloves on made no sense since he was using dirty hands to handle the gloves. Yuck! Had I seen that before my food arrived I would have asked for my money back and left. If I'm in the area I will try this place again but I won't make a special trip to eat there.

Great spot for lunch! Western Shawnee is lacking in places to nab decent fresh food. Here you can find good salads, wraps, tacos and burgers. My favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. They offer more to their menu than just the "normal" fare. Love the wrap that features cashews, chicken, avacado, hot sauce and various other veggies as well. Several of my friends enjoy their tacos....fish....chicken or beef. If you are in a hurry and just want to pick something up quick...be sure to call ahead. I've had to wait 15 minutes for a to go order, on a busy day, when ordering in house. If you call ahead they will have it ready for you when you get there...very quick in and out.

Amazing fresh, healthy unique taco options! My family has eaten there twice this week! I have no idea what kind of spices are used on the grilled chicken tacos or the fish tacos but it is fabulous. The tacos are in a double shell, one flour and one crunchy corn shell. They deserve all the five stars shared by consumers on the list!

I've eaten here now over 50 times. It's our go-to spot for fresh tacos, wraps, and sandwiches. Cooked fresh every order. Unique flavors and cool atmosphere. The ish tacos are my favorite... Soft and hard shell combined with cajun fish, asian slaw and a honey aoli. I just ordered 12 beef tacos for my office for $24... great value.

The food here is fresh, made to order, and very tasty. So far, I've had the Cajun Tacos and the 4 Alarm Black Angus Burger. All have been great. Definitely will be a regular at this joint.

Excellent. Fresh.

One of our family favorites. Everything is always fresh and good! And, I love that you can make any wrap into a salad or a taco if you'd rather. And the daily specials, yum! Especially the Joe. The service is always great and the owner and kids that work there are the best. Always friendly.

    (4)

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! They have the most amazing beef tacos ever! Plus the owner is fantastic and always greets you like a regular customer. Its tiny, and seems like it won't be much, but you must give it a try. Seriously, its incredible. YUMMMM!!

Long story short: This place wasn't too bad and food seemed mediocre at best, nothing to write home about. Long story long: One day after my church internship I was working at this past semester, the Middle School pastor invited me out to lunch, as I was working with the Jr. High and High School ministry, as he apparently was trying to get to know everybody on the staff better. Joining us were his wife and their 2 children. I followed him nearby to this place. It appeared this place offers a "light and fresh" take, with wraps, sandwiches, and salads, but also offering a couple of burgers and hot sandwiches. I ended up getting the BBQ Chicken Twist: Grilled Sliced Chicken Breast with Shredded Cheddar Cheese. Rolled with Bacon, Spicy BBQ Sauce, Thin Sliced Onions, Shredded Lettuce and Diced Tomato. I chose to get it on a spinach tortilla. Sounds good, right? The pastor paid for my food, but it cost $6.75. After a few minutes, we all got our food and sat down. I took a couple bites and it was pretty good, but it wasn't anything to write home about. I could probably make something very similar at home. Maybe if I asked for it warm. I suppose if I lived near here, I wouldn't mind giving it a try, but since I don't, then chances of me coming back are slim to none.

Twisted is the shining oasis in the midst of the barren wasteland that is the Shawnee Mission Restaurant scene. I travel for work and "get to" (Have To) eat everything from fast food to fancy foo-foo dining. If I could pick one place to eat for the rest of my life it would be Twisted, and it is only by the grace of God that this place ended up in my back yard. I wouldn't call the menu as much "unique" as much as it offers good variety (mahi tacos, gyros, wraps, burgers, sandwiches, quesedillas). The focus here is not "the greatest food you'll ever eat", the focus is "the freshest food you'll ever eat" - and that focus makes them the greatest food you'll ever get at any restaurant. Everything is grilled RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, so you don't have to wonder what you're eating or how it was prepared. And did I mention it's GRILLED? Fruits and veggies are fresh. There is no nutrition menu, but based on what I've seen and entered into my nutritional app, this place is the healthiest restaurant option available...by a WIDE margin. Price is fair, and food prep takes anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes max (normal is less than 10) depending on what you order and how busy them are. My ONLY complaint is the hours. They close early on Sundays (3:00) and at 8:30 I believe on weekdays. Great Taste + Fresh + Health + Fair price. If you live within a 30 mile radius of this place get over here and support this guy and his business - you'll be glad you did (and so will I).

My favorite place in Kansas City for fish tacos. . .there are three of them and they will satisfy your hunger as well as leave you feeling healthy and happy. . .i typically will pass over many places to eat just to get there, but never have any remorse for doing so. . .

Excellent. Fresh.

One of our family favorites. Everything is always fresh and good! And, I love that you can make any wrap into a salad or a taco if you'd rather. And the daily specials, yum! Especially the Joe. The service is always great and the owner and kids that work there are the best. Always friendly.

Twisted is fresh and delicious at a reasonable price. LOVE the mahi mahi tacos so much that I get them nearly every time! Sweet... Spicy... Delicious. A favorite lunch spot.

Best wraps ever. We ordered the Twisted Chicken Gyro and the Buffalo Chicken Twist. Both were great and very reasonably priced. Walked out of there for under $15.

Tried the heralded mahi mahi tacos on a whimm... ehh, ok i guess. Not sure why you wouldn'd just whip em up on your own. The hard shell wrapped in a soft shell is a nice touch, but again, just ok. Don't go out of your way, but don't avoid either.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
